2023.06.09 15:39 DisorganisedPigeon If you booked a holiday and broke up, who should pay for it?

When we were borderline breaking up at the start of May, she was expecting me to pay half and when I said no because she was the one wanting the breakup she teared up and called me manipulative/toxic and walked off. I felt so guilty so ran after her. I shut myself off for a couple of days as she tried contacting me and we made up over the phone
For the rest of May we were great, excited for our holiday until a disagreement a couple of weeks ago when she said she felt drained and wanted to break up properly.
She said she’ll pay the £1,200 in full and that I don’t have to worry.
I believe whoever breaks it off has to live with those consequences but I feel guilty. I’d plan to give her my christmas bonus eventually but wanted to know now it’s over is it worth doing that and is it fair that she pays given it was her decision to break it off?

2023.06.09 15:38 foxlover93 Problems with Jabra 65T Active

I've loved my Jabra 65T's since I got them, but recently I've been running into problems
My headset could be in the case for hours or days, and it never seems to have a 100% charge. As an example I pulled them out yesterday and it said "Low Battery", showing 10-20%, even though it's been charging. I tried resetting my case, I've cleaned my headphone ports pretty well imo (perhaps I need to be more thorough). Originally, I thought it was cause the case wasn't staying completely closed? I could push on the lid and it would close just a bit more so I wrapped my case up with elastic bands to try and keep a good connection on the charge ports. I bought these headphones in and around when the 75T's were announced

I've had my headphones plugged in at one point for well over 2H+ and it still showed a slow green blink saying its charging but it doesn't seem to hold a charge? Or perhaps my case isn't able to charge my headphones anymore? Looking for any aid/advice to troubleshoot the issue. I'd love to keep these but it might be time to upgrade =<

TIA!

Living in a colder climate and looking to pay some overnight milsim, the temperatures drop as low as 13°C, would I need red gas for it to function perfectly? Or should I just use green gas for everything?

2023.06.09 15:35 yorrrforger 21 [F] Virginia - Looking for a lifelong player 2 🫶

Hiiii! This is my first time posting on a subreddit like this hence the new account, but I wanted to give it a go anyways to see what magic could be had.
Are you looking for a fun but supportive partner? Someone who will hype you up? Someone you can banter with and game with? Well look no further because I’m here to fulfill those roles~
First, I want to say that I prefer if you are 21-24 and located near Virginia or along the east coast. I may not mind further if we connect and click, but I strongly prefer near me!
I’m a 21 year old college student who has dark brown hair with blonde highlights. My friends say I have the prettiest green eyes and fair skin, so I’d like to think I look pretty cute :P
As for who I am, I’m a very big nerd! I love all things anime and manga related, especially with the Pokémon series. It’s been my big favorite since I was small. It’s a part of my childhood. I mainly play video games during my free time, but I often go out for walks, bake, learn how to crochet, photography, and such. ✨ I also really love animals!
I tend to be a mixture. My friends like to call me a gremlin for the chaos I give but I can often be sweet. I love affection! I tend to be full of energy and apparently just attracts people in haha. I always mean to give my full effort and attention to my partner, my friends, and family! I also make some crude jokes, so you’ll have to excuse me saying a DEEZ nuts joke here and there :P.
Now what do I want? Most importantly, someone to be there for me and praise me. To validate me and whisper sweet things to me. ❤️
I want someone who will put in their full effort and make me their priority while respecting my boundaries and needs. I’d highly prefer if you were a gamer too! But I do want you to be loyal and mesh with my sense of humor. Someone who’s willing to watch TV shows with me too. That’s really attractive to me. :)
I’m really turned off by smoking of any sorts or addiction to alcohol. Drinking is fine but on limited terms for me. I would like it if we could go to the gym together some day, so I’d prefer someone looking to stay fit!
I’m sorry if that’s a lot haha ^
But, I hope to see what comes! What magic will happen!~ Send me a chat if you think we could connect 😜

2023.06.09 15:34 MellifluousManatee Top 10 Worst Decor

10. J. Willy’s: The exterior is so rundown, Gordon remarks it looks like it’s been closed for ten years. I suspect the building used to be some kind of chain restaurant the owners never bothered to remodel. The inside isn’t much better with its drab color scheme and worn carpet that looks like it was trampled on by a thousand buffalos.
9. Flamango’s: I hate the tacky tropical theme of this place. And how can you be positive about something you hate? The remodel wasn’t my favorite, but it was an improvement upon the tiki hellscape, that's for sure. And Adele is one of the worst owners imo—so rude and mean-spirited to everyone around her, even her own husband.
8. Fleming: The pink walls, old-fashioned decorative plates, out of place stained glass windows, petrified desserts on a counter right outside the bathroom. This place really does look like Grandma’s house, though I cannot recall if Gordon uses that line in the episode.
7. Zeke’s: Despite the owners’ belief to the contrary, the idea of eating in a swamp does not appeal to adults or children. The ugly green chairs only add to the humdrum ambiance, and the tables seem way too close together. Having to chow down on Oysters Cortello and Darryl’s week-old lasagna in that eyesore of a restaurant while Ellen meanders around with crossed arms with a snotty look on her face just doesn’t sound like a good time.
6. Casa Roma: If you like maroon tablecloths, booths stuffed with garbage, and biohazardous bathrooms, Casa Roma is the place for you. Or was, as it closed its doors nearly a decade ago. This establishment should never have existed in the first place, and it was obvious that no one who worked there gave two fucks about it.
5. Miss Jean’s Southern Cuisine: I love this episode, but I can’t deny this restaurant looks downright awful. Gordon compares the lobby to a doctor’s office, and the empty dessert display gives off a negative first impression. The dining room’s green walls and cafeteria-esque furniture make for a dismal atmosphere. And Miss Jean’s ancient exercise bike smack dab in the middle of the hallway is so random and unexpected.
4. Capri: One of the filthiest restaurants of the show. Ripped booths covered in duct tape and overflowing with bits of food, decaying wallpaper, grime-covered ceiling fans, countless wads of gum stuck underneath tables. There was simply no excuse for the state of Capri. I would not be shocked if it hadn’t been cleaned since 1963.
3. The Old Neighborhood: The mannequin in the lobby is creepy AF; the fact that the owners named it is even creepier. The chairs are broken, the upholstered booths stink to high heaven, and the restaurant is overflowing with junk thanks to owner Randy’s hoarding ways.
2. Fiesta Sunrise: Sombreros galore, repurposed menus, and a stuffed chili pepper named Manuel are the highlights of this sorry excuse for a Mexican restaurant. If all that weren’t bad enough, the food is stored in garbage cans and the kitchen is crawling with cockroaches.
1. Dillon’s: This place has to be the biggest Kitchen Nightmare of all time. They must have put the sheets on the walls to hide all the cockroaches. The fact that this hellhole was open for any length of time does not reflect well upon the NYC health department, that’s for sure.

2023.06.09 15:33 a-h-m-e-d-k The 5 pillars of good revision

The 5 pillars of good revision
Intro
After years of revising for pointless tests and exams. I have painstakingly derived the 5 pillars which decide how well you perform on exams. Do exams hold meaning anyway? This is a no bs guide to getting A*'s in your exams, or at the very least improving your grades guaranteed... probably. The post is a bit long but it will be time well spent I promise. In each pillar, there are three levels, to get to the next level you need to fulfil all the requirements of the level below it.
5 pillars
  1. Mental and Physical Health
  2. Structure
  3. Focus
  4. Revision Techniques
  5. Consistency
Mental and Physical Health
Without this, everything falls apart. Feeling burnt out, depressed and struggling to focus is the most detrimental thing to performing well on exams. You might be thinking - 'I do none of this stuff but still perform decently' but performing well on your exams is not more important than taking of yourself.
Level 1:
  • You move around the house
Level 2:
  • You get 7-8 hours of sleep
  • You at least 2 nutritional meals a day
  • You go outside daily
  • You keep in touch with friends
Level 3:
  • You do intense exercise at least once a week
  • You stretch daily to take care of your posture
  • You still spend time doing hobbies and extracurricular activities
Structure
Structuring your revision is key to making sure that you don't feel overwhelmed. Ever gotten round to revising and finding out you have no idea what to revise? Or you know what you have to revise but you don't know what to start with? Then you open YouTube and watch a video on how to study so you feel like you're being productive.
Level 1:
  • You have a checklist of what you will get done in your revision session
  • You have made a note of what topics will be on the test
Level 2:
  • You have gone over your specification, old tests and homeworks and find out the topics you really struggle with. You make an action plan to either get help from your teacher, or your peers, or watch helpful YouTube videos
Level 3:
  • Retrospective Revision Timetable. You might already know what retrospective revision timetable means but if you don't, it means looking back on past events. Your average revision timetable (the one you are probably thinking of write now) is absolutely useless. You predict weeks or days into the future what topics you will cover at specifically the time you choose. If you've ever made one, you would have realised it's impossible to follow for more than 3 days. That is because it is impossible to predict what you should revise a few days or weeks into the future. This where the retrospective revision timetable comes in. You write down the topics down the side of a piece of paper or word document and across the top you write the number 1 to 5. Then, every time you spend maybe a 45 minutes or an hour revising a topic you put it into the timetable with the date - first time revising the topic you put it in column 1 etc. This allows you to create a snapshot of what you have and have not covered. That means next time you come to revise you know clearly what you still need to cover. You can also highlight the different boxes in red green or orange to signify how well the session went. Now this technique isn't for all tests and is only for the really large mocks or end of year exams
https://preview.redd.it/a3yuct7yvz4b1.png?width=886&format=png&auto=webp&s=1e26bf207830e22892642bc642d9cd090fde5bb9
Focus
Being able to focus is key. Doing work for long periods of time is an important skill to learn. You've probably already got distracted reading this - haven't you? Focus. Take 5 deep breaths and take stock of your surroundings. Being able to focus will help improve all aspects of your life.
Level 1:
  • You keep your phone out of sight
  • Caffeine - eh its good but don't overuse it
  • You don't have a movie / TV show on in the background while revising
Level 2:
  • Cold showers - the feeling of awakeness you get from doing this is crazy. You really feel like you about to start levitating or something. If you ever wake up and feel like death this will literally slap the life back into you. Honestly, 100% worth the effort.
  • Tidy Work environment - prevents your mind from feeling cluttered or something like that. Sometimes best to go to the library cos a change in environment can help sometimes
  • You keep your phone and all distractions away from your study environment
Level 3:
  • You practise mindfulness and meditate regularly
  • You listen to either binaural beats, white noise, or relaxing music of your choice
  • You take a cocktail of study drugs and ascend from the mortal realm - I'm kidding, don't do this
Revision Techniques
Contrary to popular belief (I think) it does matter how you revise. Saying you revised for 4 hours by writing out the entire spec doesn't count. What's important is making sure the revision that you do is useful to you.
Level 1:
  • You watch videos for understanding - this isn't actually revision but you if you never understood the topic this is a good idea
  • You reread your notes - almost always a waste of time when it comes to revision unless there aren't more comprehensive online sources you can learn from You sleep on your textbooks to allow the information to move in via osmosis - a rookie mistake a lot of people make is still leaving the covers on the textbook which is actually quite impermeable
Level 2:
  • Exam questions - the holy grail of revising. I highly recommend doing this and writing all the questions you get wrong with their answers into a word document or onto a sheet of paper. Exam technique heavy A-levels e.g. Biology are often looking for specific phrases and specific ways of saying things that you can only learn from doing exam questions
  • BLURT - this is where you write down everything you know about a topic then correct it using a textbook or something like that. Quick way to find your misconceptions. You could probably do this as a mind map but the key thing is without notes. This is because it involves 'active recall'. Basically, brain fetch knowledge from memory memory become stronger easy to recall in a test.
Level 3:
  • You employ the Feynman technique and try to explain topics to your peers or people who know less about it then you. This allows you to gain a deep understanding of a topic. It's like opening a third eye or something. Feynman is where you write down a concept you are trying to learn. You then write about it in plain English so that anyone can understand. You then write about the concept so that a 10 year old can understand the topic. Use a variety of resources to improve your explanation. Then, use diagrams and analogies to make the topic easier to remember.
“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough” - some guy
Consistency
Cramming the night before a test, if you don't know, is not good for your health. It's not good for you grades either. Staying up till 4am to revise Biology is rarely justified. Remember, 30 minutes a day for a week is better than a 6 hour study session at night where the only thing keeping you awake is caffeine and stress. For larger mocks a couple of days of solid revision is good enough for me but everyone works differently. Find the period of time where you have the time to revise effectively for your exams but it doesn't start to affect other areas of your life badly.
Level 1
  • You start your revision the night before the exam or, even worse, the morning of your exam.
Level 2
  • You do a few cram sessions the days prior
Level 3
  • You start revising a good couple weeks before important mocks and you slowly ramp up the revision intensity and duration. This only matters for bigger tests - I am still on Level 2 :(
Deciding your level
For each pillar decide your level
Level 1: 1 point
Level 2: 2 points
Level 3: 3 points
Add them all up and decide which level you are
0 - 4: 'Academic comeback is real' guy. You believe that one night is all you need. It's alright, we've all been there. The difficulty was in knowing how to get better. But now you know.
5 - 8: Revision Fan. You dabble here and there in productivity. You are improving, but you aren't quite there yet.
9 - 12: Average revision enjoyer. You perform pretty well on tests. You know how to remain healthy while revising.
12 - 15: Revision gigachad. Reality can be whatever you want. You are the one who knocks. Well done, and good luck.

If you are a low level it's alright. I made this post for fun anyways. Just make sure to get all pillars to the same level e.g. get to level 1 on everything before moving to the next level.
FAQ
My friend does none of this and still gets the highest grade. The games the game. Genetic advantage is real but it doesn't mean you can't perform as well as them if you put effort in and use the techniques above.

2023.06.09 15:32 WinstreakisTaken I really hate pickles

I know this is somewhat different to the normal posts here but in many ways just was important.
I have felt trapped in my own mind unable to tell anyone or to just get all this hatred out of me. I really hate pickles, everything they aee and stand for. i dont know if they're political or not and that scares me too. i dont like things i cant understand, and i do not understand pickles. Like what are pickles? Cucumbers? peppers? some other outlandish thing? They go in burgers, they always end up in my fish and chips even when i specifically said "no pickles". They are everywhere and i cant escape them. you go to the shop and oh look some pickles, you go to a resturaunt and oh look that guys got a PICKLE in his burger?! Who decided these green slimey freaks of a presumed vegitable are something we need in day to day life. They serve no purpose. and dont get me started on how people are calling me weird for not liking pickles, i know not many humans share my hatred for these pickles but just look at other things that arent human. ever seen a cat get scared of a pickle? yeah, alot have and its clearly because cats are way smarter than us and clearly know that pickles are obviously a key factor in the ultimate ending of society. i seriously do not like nor trust any pickles. they are foul and deserve to be rid of this earth. And i am coming for them, im coming for all the pickles and all the pickle enjoyers, anybody associating with pickles will be in my list of targets. I'm gonna make pickles as extinct as the night furies. I will succeed in my fight against pickles, no matter the cost.
Thank you reddit, for letting me vent my severe buildup of hatred. :)

2023.06.09 15:32 Ilikewineandpopcorn How long after bleaching should I wait to lighten some more to avoid damage?) (4C hair)

Incoming storytime for context/venting purposes. Feel free to skip to the last paragraph. No pics because I am too shy but I will try to be as descriptive as possible.
Late last year I had my short, virgin, dark brown, 4C (afro-textured) hair to be bleached. My goal originally was platinum blonde, (#9-10) but I was really inspired by Solange Knowles warm blonde hair, so I went for that instead. My stylist (I will call them stylist “A”) delivered this in one process. I was pleased but decided it was TOO warm for me personally, (it was literally just like Solange so more “yellowy” than I felt suited me). I decided to tell her I wanted to go lighter when I came back for a root touch up.
I only waited 1 month before I went back for root touch up. I will call this fact Possible Mistake #1. I only had about a quarter inch of new growth at the time. Stylist A (to my surprise) was not the person there to do my touch up, it was her apprentice (Stylist B.) I feel several more Possible Mistakes were made during this second visit. First of Stylist B did not seem to even know what the hell I had scheduled for that day because they f’ed up by immediately washing my hair first thing. (I was so green I didn’t even know this was a bad thing. Possible Mistake #2.) when I told her what I was getting done (root touch up and overall lightening) she panicked because she had washed my hair and called Stylist A for advice. She put me under the hair dryer to dry me out before processing me. I am very sorry now that I was not paying more attention to what was going on. I believe I was processed and washed 3 times, I believe it went Bleach, Wash, Bleach, Wash, Tone. But it may have been just 1 bleach and 2 Tones. Afterwards my hair was certainly color I wanted, platinum-white blonde, like #10, maybe 9 but I think it was 10. However I noticed (after I got home, I didn’t get a good look at my hair at the salon) there were 2-3 large patches of grayish blue near my temple, other side of my head, and in the back. I was upset about this because I had to idea this could even happen, and Stylist B told me it would fade in a week. I frankly had lost a lot of trust in her at this point and went to Google to see what the actual f was up with my hair. Google said clarifying shampoo would fix the problem, so I did this 1 time that day and 1 time the next couple days. (I followed up with Olaplex shampoo hoping to not dry my hair out too much. Also I wore head wraps during this week, another Possible Mistake because I now know that put tension on my hair.) About a week later is when I started noticing significant hair loss, but just in those places that I mentioned were blueish gray before. The rest of my hair looked and felt lovely. Because 4C hair is so shrinky/stretchy I was able to disguise the hair loss at first. I was really enjoying it but the patches of hair loss just got to be tooo noticeable (all the blonde in those spots fell out so I only had my [brown!!] new growth underneath. It looked so bad and to’ up finally in I just shaved off 95% of the blonde to make it even with the new growth patches. But I was determined not to give up on my blonde dream and to try again as soon as I had enough hair to sacrifice to the bleach gods.
So fast forward to Now I have grown my hair out just enough, I found a new stylist (C) who ~purports~ to care a great deal about hair health. We discussed my goals and she suggested starting at a darker blonde (honey blonde, a number 7 I would call it) and working my way up to a 10 over time. So now for 2 days I am a happy #7 with an appointment to lighten in 1 month. But after making that appt (at stylist C’s suggestion!!) I am wracked with fear at the thought of processing my hair again. I just have no idea how long to wait, let alone the reasons or science behind waiting. Because girl if I need to I will wait 6 months to avoid losing my hair again!! I just need someone knowledge to please tell me what is up. Thanks so much for reading and for any advice you may have!!

What's impossible to determine, though, is how much the dry signal is due to El Niño and how much is due to the Indian Ocean, which often has a greater impact on Australia's weather during the cooler months. The absent or weaker easterlies during El Niño, along with higher pressure and cooler sea surface temperatures over northern Australia, reduces convection and therefore cloud and rain.

2023.06.09 15:30 LazyTrifle561 Is BIAY designed to be in line with the calendar year of the church?

Im debating starting BIAY now however i really oike the idea of starting in line with the calender year that way the teachings line up with the celebrations/solemnities of the day (easter, advent, christmas, etc.)
I was going to read imitation of Christ, confessions & a few other books this year and then next year jan 1st start.
Does father mikes podcast line up with the calender? I want to read about Christmas on Christmas and easter on easter.
Thoughts?

You write down the topics down the side of a piece of paper or word document and across the top you write the number 1 to 5. Then, every time you spend maybe a 45 minutes or an hour revising a topic you put it into the timetable with the date - first time revising the topic you put it in column 1 etc. This allows you to create a snapshot of what you have and have not covered. That means next time you come to revise you know clearly what you still need to cover. You can also highlight the different boxes in red green or orange to signify how well the session went. Now this technique isn't for all tests and is only for the really large mocks or end of year exams

2023.06.09 15:29 femcelh [F4M] Long Lost Lovers Fantasy Roleplay.

Hi! I'll start with my basics, I'm looking for an experienced and very detailed roleplayer who can match my level and how much interest I put in roleplaying. There's a LOT of world building involved with this, just to warn. I've been roleplaying for 7+ years, I love fantasy heavy plots and I LOVE world building.
I don't have plot limits to roleplay besides major character de*th, but if you do express them to me clearly to me and when roleplaying, if you find yourself uncomfortable tell me to stop what I'm doing wrong please. I usually write around advanced literate but I can go even longer if I get super into it, otherwise I really do try to match my partners length. Im okay with anything from the shorter end of semi-lit to longer end of adv-lit. I am in the GMT+1 time zone and am not in the position where I absolutely cannot respond very often, so i respond generally consistently and atleast a few times a day. !! I write in third person only and do so on discord. !!
So, the OC I'd like to use is;
Name: Azura Galadriel
Age: 30
Height: 6'0, 6'3 with her heels
Species: Witch
Familiar & Weapon: Owl, Dagger carried on her left hip.
Physical appearance: She has light brown hair that's thick and goes down to her hips, big green eyes, large pointed elf like ears with gold jewelry in them, tan skin and generally slim body. She wears a large variety of clothing, but usually white long dresses and heels, if it's cold she'll wear a cape. Her fingers and neck are always adorned with golden jewelery, her arms, legs and back are tattooed with white ink, creating intricate patterns all along her arms and hands. These tattoos glow when she is preforming magic. with She tends to look very angelic.
Personality/Background: She's the shy and soft type, her voice deep and soothing and mannerisms non-threatening. She makes an effort to keep personal matters to herself and is typically selective about who she lets into her life and heart. She's responsible, logical, reliable and very maternal, children and young adults alike tend to take her on as a mother figure. She's the polar opposite of impulsive, and really keeps impulsive people in line and grounded. She has a kind nature about her regarding people she trusts and loves, but she can dismissive when people upset heshe generally dislikes that person or she's just upset in general.
She grew up in a wealthy household with two parents, her mother was an extremely powerful witch known for her powerful healing spells and ability to cure most if not all disease and illness, and her father was the kingdoms medicine man who was accompanied by her mother. They only planned to have one child in their mid 40's, and that was Azura. Azura didn't get the upmost attention and love from her parents as a child as they were very busy with their work, leading her to become extremely self sufficient and develop an ability to handle herself, finances and time management extremely well at a young age.
She was very quickly noticed for her extremely powerful magic as a young child, and as she got older she became the most powerful witch in the kingdom, even more powerful than both of her parents. Instead of using this power for the wrong reasons, with her pure heart of gold, she followed her parents path and became the kingdoms most trusted medicine woman after her parents passed on. Her magic mostly plays off of herbs and potions to heal, and dancing, music and coordinated movement is very important for her magic.
Here's basics of the world and the plot:
This world is called Dhartī, and the Kingdom this takes place in is named The Kingdom of Prithvi. Prithvi is the Main Kingdom of this world, think the British Colonies of Dhartī. The rulers of Prithvi are widely feared and disliked, even by the people closest to them. Many creatures exist in this world, witches, orcs, elves, faeries, humans, goat people, etc. (I would prefer if you would keep your OC either a human or witch, though.)
The plot is a long lost lover plot, Involving a powerful witch who is very important to the Kingdom of Prithvi, my OC. As an 18 year old, she would travel to a far away village named SurakDeva to treat a new, unknown illness with her father as part of her training. Upon arriving, she would meet a boy. She ended up staying for two years, completely falling in love with this boy and spending most moments when she wasn't taking care of people with him. Her father found it cute but, they had to leave eventually. Once the disease died out, they had a very tearful goodbye, and she left back to the kingdom, never to see each other again.
10 years later, the very same boy, now a man she had fallen so deeply in love appeared in Prithvi in need of healing.
Things can be changed when we discuss more together, but thats the premise of what I'd like to do. That being said, if you're interested, message me just general info on ur OC and how you'd like to write this. I won't respond to 'hi' or anything, and I'd REALLY prefer you don't be flimsy about your OC, it can get frustrating. At the least, I'd appreciate a little self introduction! Thank you for reading if you got this far lol.

2023.06.09 15:28 DeddCole What is the ideal gas to use in the G&G SMC-9 in 18°C?

Living in a colder climate and looking to pay some overnight milsim, the temperatures drop as low as 13°C, would I need red gas for it to function perfectly? Or should I just use green gas for everything?

2023.06.09 15:28 ScarletBurn Are there any other neighborhoods like Karlshorst here?

I couldn't find anything online about this, hence why I'd like to create a discussion here. I'd like to gather multiple opinions rather than just one straight answer. My boyfriend and I recently toured an apartment in Karlshorst and honestly, it was life changing. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration but compared to living in more of a "central" area, it was beautiful. There were kind people, families, green spaces, and lots of parking for cars. The buildings were beautiful and nothing felt "cramped". Public transportation wasn't crowded or dirty.
Unfortunately, there were about 10 other people at the viewing so it seems that we won't get the apartment. So, we're still on the lookout. Does anyone know of any other neighborhoods/cities/villages "sorta" close to the main city? If so, do they have any of the above characteristics? We're looking for a neighborhood where we can actually become close to our neighbors. Somewhere pretty, with decent public transportation. Does this make sense? I'm going crazy. I no longer want to look for an apartment in Kreuzberg! lol.

2023.06.09 15:28 doodoopile Should these lower branches be pruned?

Should these lower branches be pruned?
When I first got this plant and transplanted it, things got sketchy. Plant looked awful, and I made a few posts here regarding it with it being my first plant. Since then it’s certainly done well. And I’ve even just noticed my first fruit!
My question is the original plant I started with looks horrid. And the entire new growth (where the main stem makes the “S” curve down then back up) is green and healthy and thriving. Would it be best to prune off the lower branches that look so dire or leave it be? Leaves have began to wilt, rot then fall off.
Also should this opening at the very base of the stem be a concern? With how the original section of the plant looks, I’m worried it’ll carry upwards to the good growth. Although I’ve yet to see evidence of that, it seems to be staying with the original lower section.
Thank you!

Yellow/translucent leaves on Cestrum Nocturnum
Hi! This winter my Night blooming jasmine started to turn yellow. I thought it was just due to it being winter, but it has not improved. In spring I repotted it in a slightly larger pot. I also untangled and pruned some of it’s roots. It was starting to get rootbound. I also pruned/removed about 1/3 of the size of the plant. I have put it in the same spot where it was last year, where it grew quite nicely and had really green healthy leaves. It has lots of sun throughout the day. I have also given it some normal houseplant fertilizer about 1 week ago. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
