Long story short... my wife's parents have both died, and one of her brothers who never has had any contact with the family now all of a sudden is texting her and demanding information and documents.
My wife's brother (whom I'll call B1) has been the kind of person whom I've only seen or heard from three times since we got married over 20 years ago. One was at the wedding, the other two times were at each of the funerals for their parents. My mother-in-law used to cry over the fact that he never would call or visit her, ever... except for times when he needed money. His wife is also the kind of person who is manipulative and had him put in jail once, and my in-laws used most of their savings to bail him out. They even bought a car for them, and when it broke down, B1's wife wanted them to provide a replacement car. She also complained that when my wife's grandmother died, they weren't included in the will (but none of the grandchildren were, either). She has always been the type of person with a sense of entitlement.
As soon as my mother-in-law died last year, B1 started asking about how much money was left for them in the will, even before the funeral proceedings were over. My wife and her other brother (I'll call B2) explained to him that their remaining funds were necessary for my father-in-law to live on; he was in assisted living and required the help of memory care, which was quite expensive. After the funeral, B1 and his wife then went through my mother-in-law's belongings at her home, trashing the place as they took anything of value they could find, and left without even shutting the front door as they left town. Among the valuables they took were my father-in-law's military awards from the Vietnam War. B2 and my wife had previously told him that they wanted to display his medals at his funeral, when he would eventually die. Despite multiple attempts to contact B1 and have the medals returned, he never responded. Our assumption is that he sold them for money.
Recently, my father-in-law died, and when B1 was asked to come to the funeral and bring the medals, he claims that he looked everywhere but couldn't find them. At the funeral, he again asked about how much was left in the inheritance. Now, my wife had received power of attorney for her parents before they died, to make decisions regarding their medical care and assist with paying their bills, etc. Once her father died, she and B2 thought it would be wise to consult with a lawyer to handle the will.
B1 has been asking for documents about my father-in-law, including his social security number, some military documents, etc., so he can "learn more about his life". It turns out that B1 has the same name as his father, and our suspicion is that he wants to have his SSN so that he can try to obtain funds from the trust before it is properly distributed. Last night he sent my wife a text, saying that she must send him a copy of the trust, a copy of the power of attorney, and the lawyer's information, for him and his lawyer, within 12 hours. (At the time of this post, this means we have about half an hour remaining to do that, haha.) Of course, my wife is concerned that he might try to steal their father's identity and steal money from the account. I have suggested she ask the lawyer working on the trust what she is legally obligated to share with her brother. For what it's worth, she doesn't even have the trust right now, which she says is hundreds of pages long and the lawyer currently has it, so she couldn't provide that to B1 anyway.
What, if anything, are we legally obligated to give her brother at this time?

But don't see many people considering using Azelastine nasal spray,.which is routinely used for allergies (thus, well established as safe). Research shows Azelastine nasal spray reduces viral load in those infected with COVID.
I already use (for allergies) a (prescription) combination nasal spray that has this as one of the ingredients. When my household members have unavoidable exposure risk (medical procedure where you can't mask and medical providers refuse to take any precautions to protect you), I have them use an OTC Azelastine nasal spray for a week while testing and isolating away from rest of household until we're confident they're in the clear (to reduce viral load in case they were infected).
Why don't I hear much discussion on this sub and the masking subs regarding Azelastine nasal spray?
Why do you prefer to focus on Enovid, iota carrageenan, and xylitol nasal sprays? Do you think those are better? If so, why?

I am so happy to have found this reddit full of people with similar experiences to mine! Would like to share about my loss. I had a best friend (f28years old) for over 16 years, and we spent many years living & also working together. While she always had issues with her mental health and depression, everything rapidly declined two years ago. During a major depressive episode she got a prescribtion for antidepressants and adderall, which spiked her first fullblown manic episode. In hindsight I remember a few periods of hypomania in 16yrs, but they were never as bad as the manic episode. She suddenly started seeing strangers for sex every night, not sleeping anymore and often she would come home and I wouldn‘t even understand what she was talking about because her speech was so disorganized. It took a whole year until she finally got diagnosed with BP2. During this year I would take a lot of shit from her and still stay and try to be supportive, because I was sure that something was seriously off with her mental health. After the diagnosis I felt so much relief, because I believed that she would now be able to get the care she needs. You can‘t imagine how heartbroken I was when I finally realized 8 months after the official diagnosis, that she wouldn‘t seek help and was still (now consciously) abusing adderall+antidepressants and alcohol. I always thought that we would be able to work through the trauma that her illness has caused her and also our friendship, but she didn‘t want to seek counseling and also didn‘t want to take her mood stabilizers, so I eventually felt that she „would never come back“. I set clear boundaries 4 months ago and told her that I can only remain friends with her if she starts therapy and proper medication (because her behaviour is just becoming more and more irratic and hurtful). She flatout told me that she doesn‘t intend to do so, because „she likes her new self“. I am still in shock that she would be able to throw away a 16 year friendship, my heartbreak over this is just massive.
I feel very lonely in this experience, because people just don‘t „get it“. I can‘t talk to mutual friends about it, because I don‘t want to reveal her diagnosis, since she doesn‘t share it openly. But without the diagnosis the whole conflict lacks any sense. I feel that I lost so much, my best friend, our shared home (had to move out obviously), many mutual friends because I avoid her and subsequently them. We live in a small town in Europe and I suspect that she talks a lot of s*** about me while (hypo)manic. I don‘t want to be as hurtful and childish as her, but that often leaves me feeling isolated.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to provide a timeline of my CT jump for those of you that are thinking of going CT and wondering what to expect.
Background: 32 year old male in decent medical shape who used Kratom for around 5-6 months. Peak usage was 49gpd of capsules, and I jumped from 24gpd after a quick taper.
Day 1: took my last dose at 1pm the previous day, woke up with panic and exhaustion. Was only awake for 4 hours the entire day. Misery scale 6/10.
Day 2: panic and exhaustion again, now I had crazy flu like symptoms. Hot/cold chills, headache, gastro “issues” (lol). Misery scale 9/10.
Day 3: all the previous days symptoms but kicked up a notch. Misery scale 10/10.
Day 4: woke up with much of the same symptoms, however much improved. Misery scale 5/10.
Day 5: same symptoms, but much worse. A weird setback day. Misery scale 7/10.
Day 6: HUGE improvement. This day I pretty much had minor chills, gastro issues, and some exhaustion. Misery scale 3/10.
Day 7: minor improvement from day 6. Woke up at 5:30 today so I’m assuming I’m just tired from that. Misery scale 2/10.
Tools that helped me through the worst of it: super hot showers 4x a day. Extremely light cardio to get a sweat going (aids in sleep). Electrolyte drinks + water + fruit (counteracts the dehydration from the gastro issues). Liposomal Vit. C (can’t really tell how much it helped). Magnesium for sleep. THC gummies for sleep (be careful of inducing panic).
Hopefully this helps someone out there thinking of quitting. This was my first experience with an opiate, and I’m never touching it again. Pure hell WD’s.

Day 1: took my last dose at 1pm the previous day, woke up with panic and exhaustion. Was only awake for 4 hours the entire day. Misery scale 6/10.
Day 2: panic and exhaustion again, now I had crazy flu like symptoms. Hot/cold chills, headache, gastro “issues” (lol). Misery scale 9/10.
Day 3: all the previous days symptoms but kicked up a notch. Misery scale 10/10.
Day 4: woke up with much of the same symptoms, however much improved. Misery scale 5/10.
Day 5: same symptoms, but much worse. A weird setback day. Misery scale 7/10.
Day 6: HUGE improvement. This day I pretty much had minor chills, gastro issues, and some exhaustion. Misery scale 3/10.
Day 7: minor improvement from day 6. Woke up at 5:30 today so I’m assuming I’m just tired from that. Misery scale 2/10.
Tools that helped me through the worst of it: super hot showers 4x a day. Extremely light cardio to get a sweat going (aids in sleep). Electrolyte drinks + water + fruit (counteracts the dehydration from the gastro issues). Liposomal Vit. C (can’t really tell how much it helped). Magnesium for sleep. THC gummies for sleep (be careful of inducing panic).
Hopefully this helps someone out there thinking of quitting. This was my first experience with an opiate, and I’m never touching it again. Pure hell WD’s.

Okay, I've debated making this for months for a few reasons. I'm kinda worried about my partner somehow finding this, and putting the pieces together it's about us and he'll get very upset. Actually really scared.
I guess another reason is just judgement? Or all of this sounds really silly. Sorry, I'll get on with it. To understand better here's some context.
I've been with my partner for about nearly 7 years. We've been married for about 4. Before even meeting him and dating he had been dedicating a lot time to an MMO game. I am a gamer as well so we connected through mutual interests and so on. However, I don't play MMOs. They never appealed to me.
This game is really important to him, series wise, and it was something him and his brother once shared. Early dating and living together he would go all day at the game, I mean all day. I used to work 12 hour shifts so he'd be playing when I'd get home and go right to sleep since my next shift was in 12 hours. And when I'd wake up to start getting ready, roughly 10 hours later, he'd still be playing, and its not that he stopped and just picked it back up. He just, hadn't moved.
It got to the point he said we'd do something and I'd be waiting on him to finish up on the game, and hours later, he's not done with the daily duties. I don't play this MMO, so honestly I don't know if realistically it takes this long. I did give him an ultimatum and tell him he had an addiction after a few months. It was me or the game. And he stopped. Honestly our relationship felt great. I did feel a bit bad though.
Okay, here's where we get to my main question and concerns. 3 years ago we moved overseas due to his work. A few months in, he brought up he missed playing, and missed some of the friends he made through the game.
I felt sympathetic, and honestly a bit guilty too. He also was hesitant to start because he was worried he'd be too behind story wise, raids, etc.
I encouraged he should try, as long as he promised to not let it get out of hand again.
3 years later and being overseas, he's the breadwinner. He pays the bills, he goes to work, provides needs, and he 100% financially supports me. He's often exhausted from work, I get that.
The usual routine is he gets home, and hops on his computer, starts a discord call, and that's the rest of the night. It's practically like this several days a week.
I tried to gently approach this many times. Explaining how with his attention just being focused something else often, I am lonely. I have no one else. I miss him, since him wearing headphones being in a call, we don't even converse that entire time. Also I am genuinely concerned with his well being and health because I truly care. On average he stays up very late playing on work nights and he's definitely tired constantly. He usually says it's because of stress and work. On weekends, I'd argue he plays at least 10 to 12 hours a day. He's taken weeks off in the past from work to dedicate it to these "raids"
When approached about the subject, it usually erupts into a really nasty conversation, ending with me in tears. He gets angry because he feels I'm "trying to control what he does in his free time" he wants "his freedom" he "deserves to relax and unwind in his free time" "he wants to decide when he wants to do something else" "it's one of the few things that helps with his stress" me bringing it up "stresses him out and makes him feel guilty" he's "an adult and can decide to do whatever he wants"
I often just.. don't say anything anymore if I can. I don't want to start anything. I'd rather try to keep the peace than have him get wound up about the subject as he always does
I never brought up quitting, but I have asked if there's any way to play less. Besides what he has said, these "raids" are very important to him. I'm a gamer too, I get the grind, the item drops, etc. His words to my understanding, if he's not at it every night, he will get behind and have no one to raid these certain fights with because of the timezone. Why? It's important to him and because of the rewards, etc.
Today he actually offered to go out to get some food, and I asked if he was sure since I figured he was tired. Half way eating be brought up "I didn't think this would take this long. Now I lost a day to "prog" because no one is going to be on because of the timezone and everyone is moving on to the next fight and I have to work twice as hard" I didn't really finish my food and I suggested we go so we didn't take up anymore time. I felt bad and I did understand to an extent.
Maybe I really am the problem? Is this game that time consuming? Am I not being considerate enough? He is right, he is an adult, he is allowed to make his own decisions. Because I don't play this specific game am I just not understanding all this?
He's talking with his discord friends he plays and talks to all the time right now, but it sounds like he didn't find anyone to raid with tonight because we got home too late.
He has his good moments, I feel I need to mention this, and at the end of the day, he does provide and pay the bills, my bills too, but during these "raids seasons" this is all his time and any disturbing him seems to really just set him off.
I've been feeling incredibly guilty all night. I feel guilty I ruined his weekend. I'm so sorry this post was so long and so much rambling. Hopefully someone who also plays can shed some light to maybe help me understand too. I always have been a overly needy person

I went to middle/high school in Texas over a decade ago and don't currently live in that state. For personal reasons I have avoided all contact with anyone from the school, alumni association, former teachers, etc.
Recently, I learned that the school's website, Instagram and Facebook pages had posted my middle and high school photos as a composite with a portrait off my employer's website sort of like a "look where they are now" thing. The composite is part of the alumni landing page on the school website.
My work photo is of me wearing a distinctive uniform and name badge and is not particularly easy to find online, but it is somewhere on my employer's web directory. I do not have the same name and look significantly different now as compared to school photos.
My employer states they were never contacted by the school. My work uses a photography service with their own media release which explicitly requires written permission for any third party use.
I sent a polite e-mail to the school requesting the photos be taken down. The reply I got was to the effect of, "we wish you well but permission has been granted for 'fair use' as per the documents attached". They had sent a scanned PDF of a media release permission slip signed by my parent about 15 years ago, with a highlighted section stating "I irrevocably authorize [school] to use the Photograph or any print or digital alterations thereof for current or future publication". The photo file itself was also attached (all 3 images mashed together as one file) except a white bar had been added on the bottom with "Date: [date of middle school photo]".
Needless to say, this is ridiculous. I haven't yet replied to that e-mail.
Ever since the photo was posted, I have been getting unsolicited FB requests and DMs from people which I all ignore. Worse, my employer has started getting phone calls asking if [former name] works there. I feel very uncomfortable that my current profession and personal details are being promoted for the school without my permission. I really don't want anyone else from my hometown to connect my current and former lives.
I am looking for some guidance on who could help me sort this out and if it might be worth going to civil court for. A lawyer acquaintance told me that I could prove no damages but I'm not sure.

First Update - May 24. 2023
This will probably be the only update as I'm considering my next steps but I appreciated all the good advice I got the last time. recommended I ask my employers' photography service to contact my school with a DMCA notice. I did not reach out to the school directly. Someone from the the school's IT department replied to my email and not the photography service the next day. Their email was basically with their claims as below [I am paraphrasing because I don't want to use the exact language].
The part of this that annoys me the most is that I am not Transgender. I could see why someone might think that, but I changed my name, appearance and so on because of unsavory connections to my family. I certainly do feel bad for Trans people in Texas but this isn't my fight. I don't think it will be useful to try and communicate further with the school. I have read that if a website ignores a DMCA takedown, I could try and have their website domain suspended. Would that be the route to go? I don't trust Texas civil courts but if push comes to shove I will go the formal route.

I'm providing an update because I think it's important to highlight all the excellent advice I received and I think honestly this should qualify for a bestoflegaladvice post. I had previously posted here and here (Note - removed links to previous posts) regarding a ridiculous situation in which my old school had used a middle school portrait, mashed together with my current work headshot, in a derogatory way on their website and social media.
Multiple commenters suggested that I engage my employer's photography service as well as my employer's legal department to help. They were very eager to do so. The photographers sent a DMCA complaint via social media forms and the offending posts were removed within 48 hrs! Unfortunately the school website is hosted by Cloudflare and they did not respond to the takedown request. However, my composite photo was moved off the main page and into a new section called "Diversity and Inclusion". This is where my employer's legal department was super helpful. They sent a communication to the school's legal division essentially saying that what I was experiencing is targeted harassments based on perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. Shockingly quickly we heard back with a profuse apology and promise for full investigation and possibly also disciplining the employee who was responsible for the photo, doctored file properties, website and email. On that topic, I found out that this person married into my family (who apparently thinks the reason I don't talk to them is because they think i am Trans) so that seems like their motive.
All in all, I think this is as good of an outcome as I could have hoped for. I don't think I will seek any damages but we'll see. I just want to thank everyone again. I was nervous posting this because it seems so silly, but I really am grateful.

How’s it going everyone? From what I can see the biotech space is always bullish as there is always a need for new medicine and devices for diseases. From what I can see there are hundreds of small/mid-sized companies that are on the scene and are working to solve all kinds of different diseases and illnesses. It seems like it’s almost a race to get stuff patented, FDA-approved or even the completion of successful clinical trials. I’ve been really curious to dive in and take a look at some potential companies that have some serious potential in the space.
From what I gathered a lot of companies don’t make it out of the clinical stages or don’t get approved, which will usually end up crashing the stock into nothing. It seems like a lot of these companies are just waiting to be bought out by a bigger more established company in the space, who have the proper tools and pipelines to get the drug or device to market.
That being said while I was doing my research I really liked the look of a couple of different companies but the one that I was keen on was BriaCell Therapeutics. From my understanding (I’m not a medical expert whatsoever lmao) they’re an immuno-oncology-focused biotechnology company that engages in developing immunotherapies for the management of cancer. What made them really stand out to me is that they just reported positive data for their main product (the Bria-imt), which seems to be producing really solid survival data for patients with advanced metastatic breast cancer. Of their initial 18 patients (from 2021) 15 of them are still alive. This is pretty remarkable as the overall survival rate for it is only 6.7-9.8 months so it’s clear that the product actually works, which is a really good sign. When I was doing my research this was the kind of data that I was looking for as being able to prolong patient's lifespans is an amazing tell that the product is working.
They also just recently completed a $4 million strategic investment with Prevail Partners. They plan on using the funds for Contract Research Organization (CRO) clinical services and tech for their upcoming studies in advanced metastatic breast cancer. So hopefully they’ll be able to use these funds to provide even more positive data going forward.
Like I said earlier I’m not a medical pro or expert by any means so I would love to know what people who are more into the space think of them and their work. Even maybe just some insight into the biotech space in general as well. I would really appreciate it.
