So the PSVR2 headset is an amazing piece of tech but also a PS5 exclusive. I am aware of some efforts trying to work their way arround it. But could Sony probably make a PCVR headset or a standalone headset similar to the Quest 2 - 3? I mean they put in alot of money to R&D and make a great piece of tech. Now that apple has shown how they are avoiding game's (atleast for time being) and going for a Monitor Screen / TV / Movie Theater replacement by making a Virtual Screen couldn't Sony try something similar? No need to target AR. Be VR. Could u it be possible? Something of interest to Sony? I really love the idea of High Quality HDR capable Oled VR headset for movie's, shows and PCVR gaming and maybe some Virtual screen working for pc and mobiles.

  • Brinkley Glen Park: Invasive Plant Removal. Join Master Gardener Volunteers at this weekly invasive plant removal event. This is a great way to learn to ID our invasive plant species and how to remove them. We recommend wearing long pants and sleeves, closed-toed shoes, gloves, a hat and mosquito spray. Bring gardening tools such as hand clippers, loppers, trowels, etc. if you have them. We are removing coral ardisia bushes and berries, nandina, tung trees, Tradescantia flumenensis, cat's claw vine, winged yam, Japanese climbing fern, skunkvine and more. Directions: The best way to get there is to take Meridian Rd to Waverly Rd, go to the next intersection and turn left onto Abbotsford Way, then turn left at the next road called Woodside Dr. At the stop sign turn left onto Lothian. Lothian ends in a cul-de-sac and there is a sign that says Brinkley Glen Park. 8:30am-11:30am

Fri 5 - 7 PM Exhibit Opening: Colors That Speak Words Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, 2401 12th St. NW Join us in celebration of the visual arts, poetry, and calligraphy. "Colors That Speak Words" is a collaborative installation between two writers and two visual artists with words, poetry, and visual arts and speaks to how this combination of mediums can be done in a cyclical way. The artists, Dr. Anthony Fleg, Mallery Quetawki (Zuni), Blythe Mariano (Diné), and Chilán Mustain, worked together to create an installation in motion, and the vision they bring to this space is from a contemporary perspective on how Native art is presented. This is an innovative view for visitors to see that Native art is changing and adjusting to the times. The artists will be present at the exhibit opening to read poetry and talk about this installation. Admission is free; please enter through South Entrance. Light refreshments will be served. Below we share a message from our colleagues at Common Cause Ohio to vote NO on August 8th:
[Dear Ohioans,]
Grassroots mobilization for the “Vote No in August” campaign is in full swing and Common Cause is leading coalition work to educate voters. We were one of the first to establish a statewide distribution network and distribute 35,000 fliers to advocates who are talking to voters at local festivals, signature collecting and voter education events.
We also continue to speak up for Ohio voters. “It’s an attempt to fool voters into giving away their power,” said Mia Lewis this week when asked about the measure passed by Republicans. To make matters worse, Issue 1 backers acknowledged an error in ballot language, but say it doesn’t matter, and, after months of denial, Ohio’s chief elections official, Secretary of State Frank LaRose, admitted the proposed reproductive ballot measure is the primary motivation for this August Special Election.
But there is good news! Thousands of organizations and tens of thousands of democracy advocates are coming together to fight back and there are many ways for each of us to make a difference.
Could you please pick TWO of these to do this week?
• Make a plan to vote. If you vote by mail, request your absentee ballot.
• Tell five friends about the special election and why they should “Vote No.”
• Order “Vote NO” materials to share with neighbors or at upcoming events.
• Contribute to our efforts to get materials in the hands of voters.
Worried about how to explain the August Special Election and Issue 1? Here are some talking points:
• Majority rule and “one person, one vote” makes our democracy work. A minority of voters shouldn’t dictate the direction of the state of Ohio.
• Issue 1 of the August Special Election will impact all issues on the ballot including those you might like.
• Legislative leaders want to fool us into giving up our political power. They are proposing changing the rules because they want to stop Ohioans from being able to put issues–such as redistricting–on the ballot.
• Citizen-led ballot measures have been a check on the state legislature since 1912. Issue 1 will make it much harder for us to curb gerrymandering or address money in politics.

Number 8: Griffith Observatory This impressive observatory overlooking Los Angeles offers breathtaking views of Downtown and Hollywood Sign. Number 6: Hollywood Sign The Hollywood Sign is one of the world's most famous landmarks and a cultural icon overlooking Hollywood. "HOLLYWOOD" is spelled out in 45-foot-tall white capital letters and is 352 feet long. The sign was created in 1923 as an advertisement for a local real estate agency, and it initially read: HOLLYWOODLAND. Due to increasing recognition, the sign was left up in its current form instead of being taken down. Number 5: Universal Studios Universal Studios Hollywood is both a film studio and a theme park. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use. THE compulsive gambler sub consciously wants to lose his shirt, of course, along with everything else he owns, and so he again and again puts down the rent money on the Montreal Expos or 80‐to‐1 2‐year‐old maiden fillies wear ing blinkers and bandaged forelegs. And if he's nothing else, Walter Matthau, the 50‐year‐old stage and movie actor, is a compulsive gambler. A few years ago, for instance, while in Florida to film episodes of a TV series called “Tallahassee 7000,” Matthau breath‐takingly managed in a mere two weeks to drop no less than $183,000. He lost the money, moreover, not by backing crippled nags at Hialeah but mainly instead by betting on the outcome of spring training baseball games, a way of tossing bundles of money out the window that should surely that year have won him the Nobel Prize for masochism.
Since dropping that $183,000, sum that eventually took, him six years to pay off to his increa ingly impatient Mafia ‐ connected book maker, Matthau has cut down con siderably on the amounts that he bets, especially when he goes to race tracks, and on a good day at Holly wood Park he can now come happily home having lost only $400 or $580.
Still, he continues casually to bet thousand dollars or so on things like N.B.A. play‐off games or whether or not a friend can name the capital of Albania, and so remains a prime example of the evils of gambling to all those New Yorkers who are thinking of taking a first‐time fling at the ponies because of an easy access these days to offtrack betting windows in Grand Central Station and elsewhere. “I think that off‐track betting is great for New York,” dryly remarked Matthau during a recent three‐day visit to the city from his home in California. “I mean, it's so democratic—if they keep up off‐track betting long enough, every body in town will be on welfare.”
Of course, though he has the mo rose, hangdog look of a chronic loser, Matthas is scarcely a loser in everything he gets mixed up in. Far from it, as a matter of fact. For example, when signing contracts for his last several movies he chose to gamble on accepting a percentage of the profits in lieu of a salary, and at least one of these gambles has al ready handsomely paid off—his per centage of “Cactus Flower,” a film he made a couple of years ago with Ingrid Bergman and Goldie Hawn, has so far amounted, to more than a million dollars. And he's also on the way to making another million or so as his share of the profits from each of his two most recent pictures—“A New Leaf,” a wacky comedy in which he is co‐starred with Elaine May, and “Plaza Suite,” the film version of Neil Simon's exceedingly successful Broadway play. So, unlike almost every other compulsive gamb er in the country, Matthau is nowadays just about literally rolling in money. Besides, pleased with the way that his career is going, with his marriage, with his three children, and with his seaside home in Pacific Palisades, Calif., Matthau is even happy, an emotion not normally associated with the compulsive gambler.
HOW does a compulsive gambler get to be one? The story of Matthau's life is perhaps an object lesson to all of those who have lately been spend ing their lunch hours in Grand Cen tral Station to wait in line for the dubious privilege of giving away their money to Howard Samuels and his Off track Betting Corporation. In any event, Matthau was born on the lower East Side of Manhattan on Oct. 1, 1920, the son of an impoverished Russian‐Jewish immigrant from Kiev, in the Ukraine, and of a Lithuanian born Jewish mother.
When Matthau was 3 years old, and his older brother, Henry, was 5, his father, a worker at such odd jobs as serving subpoenas for law firms, lit out for parts unknown, leaving him and his brother to be raised by their mother, Rose, who managed to scrape a marginal living for herself and her sons by working as a sewing machine operator in garment district sweatshops. In 1935, when Matthau was 15 years old, he learned of his father's death in Bellevue Hospital. His mother is still living, and—sup ported in the grand manner by her sons (Matthau's brother lives now on Long Island and is a jobber of surplus Army‐Navy goods)—divides her time these days between a penthouse on West End Avenue and a condo in Miami Beach.
During his childhood, Matthau, his brother and his mother lived in succession of cold‐water tenement apartments in the Ukrainian area of the Lower East Side, that is, around East Fifth Street near Second Av enue, being forced to vacate each apartment after only a few months because they'd got so hopelessly far behind in the rent that their land lord would have them evicted. Years later, when Matthau briefly sublet Paul Newman's house in Hollywood for $3,700 per month, he recalled with a shake of his head that $3,700 was more money than the Matthau family had spent on rent during 20 years on the Lower East Side. Mat thau, however, hasn't the slightest nostalgia these days for his poverty ridden childhood. “It was a night mare—a dreadful, horrible, stinking nightmare,” he grimly remembers.
On the Lower East Side, Matthau recalls, the highest ambition of most of his class ates was some day to become a salesman for a garment district dress house, for he himself secretly had far more exalted am bitions — by the age of 8, a day dreamer, a loner, a reader of Shake speare, he'd already determined to become a famous writer and actor. Encouraged by a teacher who ad mired his speaking voice, Matthau appeared in a number of school plays and also regularly recited poetry in school assemblies. On East Fifth Street, anyone who evinced an interest in poetry was thought by his classmates to be seriously lacking in machismo, and Matthau often found himself getting beaten up at recess by schoolyard bullies. So, already feet tall by the age of 10 (he weighed only 90 pounds, however, and, says Matthau, who is today 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds; “when I drank cherry soda, I looked like thermometer”), he put himself through a regimen of muscle‐building until “I had Popeyelike bumps on my skinny arms and could beat up any body who made snide remarks about my poetry reading.”
When Matthau was 11 years old, in fact, one of those whom he alleges to have beaten up in the schoolyard was none other than Rocky Graziano, who grew up, of course, to become the middleweight boxing champion of the world. Of Matthau's claim to having beaten up Graziano, one can unequivocally make the following statement: The story either is or is not true.
IN any event, along with being a compulsive gambler, Matthau is also something of a compulsive stretcher of the truth. Or, to put it perhaps a bit more tactfully, a compulsive weaver of fiction when it comes to talking about his past. For example, bored with repeating the story of his life over and over again to interview ers, Matthau has on more than one occasion told newspapermen and magazine writers that his father was a defrocked Russian Orthodox priest who'd had to flee for his life from Czarist Kiev in 1906 because he'd been preaching sermons in support of Pope Pius X. And this story, told by Matthau to interviewers with an absolutely straight face, has appeared several times as the God's truth in such usually accurate publications as Time and Current Biography.
NOT long ago, too, when Matthau was in New York for a round of newspaper, maga zine, radio and TV interviews to promote “Plaza Suite,” chanced to be in earshot when he told a story to Neil Simon that he'd heard the night be fore from Gene Saks, the director, about a somewhat aging and hard ‐ of hearing actor who'd had trouble re membering his lines in a play last winter at the Palm Beach Playhouse in Florida. So, as Matthau told the story to Si mon, a prompter, unseen by the audience, was hidden in a hole cut into the front of the stage and instructed to call out only key words to the actor when a line was for gotten. “Drastic,” whispered the prompter when the actor went up in his lines on the opening night of the play. From the hard ‐ of ‐ hearing actor, no response. “Drastic,” repeated the prompter in a somewhat louder voice. Again, no response. “Drastic,” the prompter now all but shouted. Still no response, upon which a man in the second row of the orchestra stood up and yelled “Dastic!” The actor heard him, smiled, remem bered his line, and the play went on.
As show‐biz stories go, not bad. Not so great, either. The following evening, however, happened to be on hand when Matthau was being inter viewed by David Frost on Frost's TV talk show and was asked, “What was your most embarrassing moment in the theater?” And, without batting an eyelash, Matthau pro ceeded to tell the “drastic” story as though it was some thing that had happened to him years ago on Broadway.
He concocts personal anec dotes that aren't true, Mat thau later somewhat abashedly told me, because they liven up otherwise boring inter views and make his past seem more colorful than it really was. “Like saying that my father was a Catholic priest — I figure that makes me more interesting than just another Jewish actor who had a pair of Jewish parents,” Matthau explained to me with a grin. “Jewish and Catholic— if I can just work a Protestant into my background, I'm all set.”

So far as ideology goes, I have a policy of questioning and analyzing everything, including myself, my politics, and my beliefs. As such I see and understand the gray areas and opposing views even on the topics I feel very strongly about, and I find I match better with individuals who can similarly question their beliefs with an open mind. It doesn’t mean I don’t have strong feelings on some things, if anything I’ve found constantly questioning my values has strengthened many of them, but it does mean that I don’t judge people for holding different views.
Case in point, I’m “old fashioned” in that I won’t have sex before "a legal union." 🙂 Like I said, I’m not interested in judging people, but it does make me a bad match for individuals who need to have sex for a romantic relationship. 🤷‍♂️🙂
As for what I’m doing with my life, I’ve always had a deep passion for gaming, so when I grew up, rather than growing out of it, I doubled down and made game development my career! I got my bachelors degree in game design, then worked for seven years at a mobile games studio. In that time I paid off my car, all of my student debt, then I took a leap of faith, quit my job, and started my own tiny two man VR game studio, which is what I am doing now! 😎😁
Because of that I tend to stress the importance of gaming as a shared interest because it’s such a major part of my personality. And I often seek out fellow gamers, especially PC gamers who enjoy survival crafting, VR, or RTS games.
I don’t _need_ my partner to be a gamer, but I do pass most of my thoughts through the lens of game development, and spend a lot of my time gaming, so that needs to be something a romantic partner could embrace, not resent, even if it’s not her thing.🤷‍♂️🤓😅😁
Mostly I just want to be able to share at least one or two passions with my romantic partner, so if not gaming, we’d probably still be a great match if you have a love for Dungeons & Dragons, martial arts, playing an instrument or singing, fighting with foam swords (LARP), parkour, or talking about philosophy, super heroes, politics, and plot holes. 😁
To a lesser degree I also enjoy movies, theater, acting, anime, CGI, roller coasters, reading, long walks, climbing, bicycling, tennis, crafting, and DIY, so I could definitely get into them if they are things you are passionate about.😁
I’d like to avoid a long distance relationship, but I’m happy to drive up to 2 hours for dates. Further for fellow PC gamers, since we could hang out and get to know each other virtually, so long as we were still within practical driving range so we could see each other in person if things progress that far.

Honestly I don't miss the 2000s much at all, not really nostalgic for that time period, I didn't have a horrible childhood but I just don't miss being a kid, and when I look back at the 2000s I still see mostly crappy movies and crappy music with the good thing to me being the shows which I still don't rewatch outside of Last Airbender and Naruto
But the 2010s? God I miss it so fucking much, to me the 2010s encapsulates my favorite time of day, late morning. It was like the springtime of youth, a magical time period where the most heart-rending struggles I faced, outside of losing my grandmother in the middle of the decade and grandfather later, were mostly adolescent problems like moderate social ostracization and not getting laid/laid as much as I wanted. And I hated the fact that I was a teen in 2012 to 2018 instead of 1982 to 1988 (younger zoomers may not know it but the 80s were fucking HUGE when I was a kid and teenager)
But outside things that mostly seem so small years later, it truly was a fucking magical time I wish I could have back. I remember so much music I loved at the time but barely realized it since I idolized 70s and 80s music. Got to see so many awesome movies as they were coming out. Got to see a Star Wars trilogy in theaters, got to see the absolute peak for the MCU. I remember being 16 and reading through chapter after chapter as the Naruto Manga was ending and me and my friends holding our breath to discuss what's going on after every chapter release. Remember being peeved that everyone liked Breaking Bad in 2013 which I didn't watch bc it was a "white people show" only to check it out years later and be like "Damn this shit pops".
I remember a world that seemed so much more joyous, so much more hopeful. I remember the terrible Great Recession, but also remember people in my city taking to the streets to protest the wealthy down at Wall Street. I remember watching the news with my mom in 2011 to watch while dictatorial regimes were toppled, I remember discussing how terrifying and evil ISIS was with my friends, remember when smartphones proliferated and when Obama mocked Romney for his Cold War mentality in thinking Russia was still a US enemy (ironic 10 years later). I remember listening to Thrift Shop and laughing along with my dad and my dad telling me about Weird AL Yankovich and all the funny parodies he made when my dad was young.
I remember the world before COVID-19 ever happened, playing smash bros and smoking weed with my best friends. All the dates I went on in college, my first girlfriends. The small streets packed by green plants and crappy frat houses in the springtime in my college town. Walking through the mall with my best friend around Christmas time when I was 19, doing acid and walking along a frozen lake with that same friend earlier that same year. The first kiss I ever had at the end of high school when I finally gave the cute girl that always had a crush on me the chance she deserved, and then ruining it by not taking her to prom. Back then it felt like my life was nothing but sadness, longing, loneliness, and self-hatred; but now, looking back what I remember most is the joy I felt, the hope I once had deep down, the faces of my friends that pushed away the loneliness, and the love I felt for the ones around me and was given in return. So many memories that come together spiraling in my head, bringing tears to my eyes, a world that felt so much brighter, and a self with so much more potential than what I have now, and so much more freedom as well. I truly miss those days, and I never thought I would. I truly miss the 2010s.
So I just wanna say to the younger zoomers on this sub, honestly, I'm begging you, cherish your youth, cherish every memory, cherish your friends, remember the faces of those around you, remember their hearts, remember the bonds you share, hold it to your hearts and cherish it now and forever.
