I'm mentally exhausted from talking through options with my husband, and he's really struggling on whether to take a position. He works in HR and unfortunately has made some moves that he regrets up until this point. So we need some unbiased opinions!
Current Role (for almost 3 years): Sr HR Generalist in TN. He recently got a pay bump to $75k/year.
New Role: HR Manager in southern VA. Pay would be $105k/year with $10k relocation reimbursement.
Important notes: 1) He isn't miserable in his current job but has been looking for opportunities due to feeling restless and bored. 2) We have a toddler and a teenager. 3) We would be moving away from said teen's father, but she's actually not that upset...but still... 4) We do not have a lot of family holding us in TN, and VA is closer to my best friend at least. 5) We do own our home and would need to sell. Rent would probably be ~$1k more a month than what we pay in mortgage.
Background: His current job is comfortable. He knows what to expect and likes the people he works with. This new position has a lot of unknowns since they have been doing a complete restructuring of their HR department BUT he did visit and liked the new team. He would have to put in more work, and it could be very challenging/rewarding, but there's always a risk when taking a new position. Now, he thought he was doing the right thing by giving his current job more than a 1 month notice (mistake #1). His boss immediately freaked, posted the job, and verbally offered it to someone else within 2 days - not even joking. Fast forward a week later, and my husband is anxious about whether things will continue without issues/background will cleanew job fears. He voices being scared and the irritation with his job being offered to someone else so quickly to his current boss. She gives him the option to actually stay but says he has to make a decision THAT day. So, I personally told him I would not stay b/c he was looking for a reason, but fully support whatever his decision is. He told her he would stay (possible mistake #2). The new job has countered that they would double relo, now $10k, and really want him to consider taking the job because he would be such a good fit.
Decision Help: He has until end of TODAY to tell the new job if he'll take it. If he does, he will then have to tell his boss, who he has already told he would stay, that he has changed his mind yet again. In doing that, he would have to immediately resign and any reference for this job would go out of the window. He partly doesn't want to deal with the emotional fallout either; he's had multiple people call and voice how excited they are that he's staying after all. We would need to figure out housing and logistics of moving. But he's struggling with the decision of not taking a job with growth since he has the opportunity. What to do?? And are there other things to consider? We've talked about this sooo much for the past 2 weeks; we've looked at every different angle and pros/cons of both. I'm just ready to have the decision made and be done.
Tl;dr Husband wants to take a higher title making more money but is afraid to ruin is reference and lose work/life balance. So, he's at a gridlock of not knowing what to do.

Here's a LGBT+ topic I surprisingly haven't covered in a script before. The difference between bisexuality, pansexuality and omnisexuality can be confusing to some, so I'll summarize the best I can. Some people do use the terms interchangeably, but they each have their own definitions. Bisexual means that you're attracted to multiple genders, but your attraction may vary based on someone's gender. For example, a bi person might prefer masculine women and feminine men. Or they might have a preference towards men while still being attracted to multiple genders. Pansexual meanwhile means that you're attracted to people regardless of their gender. So they would (for example) prefer their partners to be masculine no matter what gender they are and they won't have preferences towards one gender or another. And just after I put this script on my Ko-Fi's early access I learned the term omnisexual. It's very similar to pansexual, only the main difference is while pansexual people are "gender blind" omnisexual people do notice gender, but it simply doesn't change how they're attracted to a person. There's a lot of overlap, but the differences do matter to some.
I'd also like to mention why this script is shorter than my usual fare. My goal was still to make this script at least 1000 words, but as I went through editing I realized that forcing the script to that goal would just end up making it feel bloated. Have you ever written a perfect essay for school that you were proud of but the word count wasn't right? That just means you have to seperate shorter words or phrases into more complex ones and add more filler. I didn't want to do that to this script, so I hope you understand. Wife and I are looking to start up our first small business in TN - a nail salon to be exact. We’ve chosen a location and have been speaking with the owner and will meet with contractors next week on site to discuss build out plans. They’ll be looking at our finances, checking credit, etc over the next few days.
We haven’t ‘established’ the business yet. How do we do it? When do we do it? What type of business are we supposed to establish? We were on campus yesterday for new student registration and orientation. We drove from TN the previous day, stayed at the Hampton Inn on University Dr, parked at the hotel for the whole day, walked to the Illini Union for an 8:15AM check-in.

• There was separate check-in for parents and students. Each were given their own agendas. I can share if anyone is interested.
  
• There were tables representing University Housing, Private certified housing, study abroad, parent programs, ROTC, Health centers, Tech Zone, Bus system, Champaign area tourism and more. PNC bank did not show up in the morning but was available later at another location. My wife texted me to pick up as many freebies as possible and I came home with a lot of pens!
  
• The room was quite full. I would guess about 200 students and parents
  
• There were activities for students and parents where people were forced to make new connections. It wasn't too bad.
  
• Students were taken to different locations based on their areas of study. Engineering students remained in the Union.
  
• Students and parents were given presentation by their colleges. They later met with advisors to review their course worksheets.
  
• Engineering students registered for their courses in the Grainger library after meeting with their advisors.
  
• Student i-Cards were issued at the student bookstore. It was advised to do so now rather than when school begins because of the volumes (200 versus maybe thousands later). We were done in about two minutes.
  
• Students had lunch at ISR dining hall. Parents went to IKE. Food was so-so. I was disappointed. Each student gets one free food ticket for their guest. If you need more, you can buy at $10 each.
  
• The walk from the union to IKE took about 15 minutes. You had the option to take the bus as well. Both groups arrived at pretty much the same time. It was great to walk and see the sights.
  
• We were done by 4:30PM. Some students had registration issues due to AP scores not being available and holds being placed. My son still has a hold on one course. But there was good assistance to help resolve it. It should be resolved today.
  
• Stopped by Costco and picked up some alcohol since the Costcos in TN do not sell liquor. Was surprised at the low cost.
  
• We had dinner the previous night at Tres Nopales. My son's choice. The food was good. The place was pretty much empty.
  
• Visited the local Goodwill as well to check out if there were any college related tchotchkes to take back. Didn't find anything interesting.
  
• Reached home around 11:30PM.
  
• This was my third visit to UIUC and I really enjoyed it. Now, paying the tuition is going to be another matter altogether!

So I am very new to cypher and still learning the system. I do love to homebrew and like to import features from difference systems. Among the ideas I am having to customize cypher one is the notion of Partial Successes / Failing Foward.
My first notion about this involves the idea that instead of simply failing when the character can`t beat the TN of the toll, there is a broad range of results that involve not getting exactly what they like but getting it halfway, making a mess or adding a complication to the scene.
so the basic idea is that rolling at or under the basic difficult x2 is a total failure. rolling at or under basic difficult x 3 is a partial success and rolling ABOVE base diffuclt x3 is a full success.
Which would lead into something like this

• Dif 1 - Rolls of 1-2 (total failure) - Roll of 3 (partial success) roll 4+ (success)
• Dif 2 - Rolls of 1- 4 (total failure) roll of 4-6 (partial success) roll 7+ (success)
• Dif 3 - Rolls of 1-6 (total failure) roll of 7-9 (partial success) roll 10+ (success)
• Dif 4 - Rolls of 1-8 (total failure) roll of 9-12 (partial success) roll 13+ (success)
• Dif 5 - Rolls of 1-10 (total failure) roll of 11-15 (partial success) roll 16+ (success)
• Dif 6 - Rolls of 1-12 (total failure) roll of 13-18 (partial success) roll 19+ (success)
• Dif 7 - Rolls of 1-14 (total failure) roll of 15-19 (partial success) roll 20+ (success)
• Dif 8 - Rolls of 1-16 (total failure) roll of 17-19 (partial success) roll 20+ (success)

the idea is that most actions in an adventure should range in the 3-5 dificulty range with a dificulty 6 being the measure of a obstacle or enermy which is meant for players to fight.

• Dif 3 - 30% total failure - 15% partial Success - 55% success - Players will succeed most of the time buyt will sometimes complicate themselves. Roll this routine tasks that could cause fun problems if they had partial success on a crucial moment. (i.e. Climbing a mountain without losing gear, navigating the asteroid field, breaking the lock without triggering alarms) , easy difficulty.
• Dif 4 - 40% total failure - 20% partial success - 40% success - Players tend to succeed and solvemore problems then they accumulate complications. Roll this for rolls that could change a scene oir the tide of the battle (Dodging the activated trap, running through the crossfire) meaningful rolls
• Dif 5 - 50% total failure - 25% partial success - 25% success - Player tend to succed but will mess a bit and accumulate complications. Roll this for risky and challenging situation (Resisting the sirens mind control, Shooting the enemy weapon out of their hand)) difficult rolls
• Dif 6 - 60% total failure - 30 % partial success - 10% success - Players will fail a lot and success will often add complications that will grind down their resources (Hiding from the dragon`s breath behind the shield, trying to hide your thoughts against the telepath) Very difficult rolls

Partial success should be used as a invitation for adding complicationsa to the scene based on the character`s lack of attention, skill or unexpected challenges in the task they are attempting. The key here is that partial successes exchange a problem for another. The character does break into the lab, but the silent alarm is tripped, they do hit their enemy but open themselves for a counterattack, they jump across rooftops, but land on the ledge or fall on their knees on the other side, injuring themselves.
Partial successes are also a way to model enemies`s attack on a combat. Instead of calling for defense rolls from players, A character partial success on a task in combat (even an attack one)means an oponening on their defense that is exploited by the enemy (thus inflicting damage) or triggers opponents special moves (the giant octopus grabs their leg and throws them around, they kill a goblin but its friends surround him, the sword transpasses the tree-monster but is now stuck in its chest until the character can free it).
It is very important that the GM either clearly explains what is at stake at the roll in case of a failure and partial success OR at least gives hints of what the problems may be. This information is important for the player deciding whether they want to spend effort or not.
Dungeon world is a great inspiration here and I think this mechanic works specialy well to player facing system where the GM doesn`t roll dice.

The good news is that his physicians caught it in time, and his health and overall condition are improving steadily.

So things have absolutely not went my way the past 5 years. I’m starting to feel like trying to develop a relationship is just a waste of time. There’s always something stupid that seems to come between me and having a connection with someone. Whether moving , can’t get over a ex or the dreaded friend zone. I feel like I can be a catch.
