Guten Tag zusammen!
I've been taking courses that give weekly lessons (physical) from A1 up to B1 which I'll be taking the test for tomorrow. But after completing B1, I plan to switch to self studying because the weekly schedule for classes just isn't working out with my college schedule, plus the courses aren't cheap either.
I feel that I've already established a pretty good foundation in German up till now, so I think I can probably manage the B2 level by myself in under a year or so. But I'm just worried because up till now, everything I've learned was mostly from the courses, so I'm not sure if I can make the transition smoothly.
Right now, my plan to self study is basically studying 6 hours a week, split into 2 hour sessions over 3 days where I'm freer. To occupy each 2 hour session, I'll be buying Grammatik Aktiv B2-C1, as well as Aspekte Neu B2 to study. Aside from the textbooks, I'll also be using Anki daily, and try to immerse myself in German everyday by going through a few pages of a German novel like Emil und Die Detektive for reading, using Slow News in German podcasts for listening, and watching German videos (Dinge Erklaert, Easy German...) and German shows on Netflix (Dark, How To Sell Drugs Online). For writing, I plan to translate one short English news article into German every week, and for speaking I'm not really sure. If it seems abit over the top, my aim is not just to pass B2, but also get to a point of fluency where I can easily consume and use German with little hassle.
That's essentially my study plan for now, I would really appreciate any advice from people who've switched from courses to self study, as well as any suggestions for modifications to my study plan. Danke im voraus!
ps any tips for B1 Prüfung would also be appreciated :)

After going through my T20 university's premed advising and volunteer helpers at various training stages, I realized their advice was just way too generic and was not helpful in making me the competitive applicant I wanted to be. I finally went with an admissions consultant to put together my primary application and lemme tell you, IT WILL CHANGE YOUR GAME AND MENTALITY. Given the negative sentiment on this sub toward these services, I wanted to put an alternate perspective out there for those curious and who are lost/seeking help as I did.
The first thing I want to say is people def seek help/these kinds of services it's just that they tend to hide it/not speak about it. THERE IS NO GATEKEEPING HERE. I seriously wish someone just honestly told me earlier in the process how helpful it is to be coached and helped through this application process so I just wanted to share how my experience is/what I've realized as a current applicant!
3. My consultant went through this process recently and had incredible insight into how my writing would be interpreted by different types of readers. Related to point 1), my consultant explained to me how these applications are reviewed, including what types of people generally review them. This helped me to frame my writing in a way that was both understandable and sophisticated for a broad audience. Another point that came up is that a lot of the medical stories and terminology I used in my writing were incorrect, which is something I would not have known on my own. It seriously changes how you frame certain experiences after speaking with someone who is in the field.
5. Value. If you add up the cost of applying to med school & preparing for MCAT just one time, let alone doing either of those multiple times, as well as the associated opportunity cost of delaying training, paying a premium for maximizing your chances makes sense.
7. Would have started earlier if i'd known about it! I wish I had known about the services for underclassmen to help arrange ECs & build relationships and connections for future LoRs etc.

I totally understand that not everyone has the resources to afford this service and I'm not saying that this is the only way to have a successful cycle. But if you are able to afford it, I highly recommend it. The application process at the end of the day is really complex but the details and nuances that you include in your application really makes it stand out and gives you an edge. I could feel the difference in the strength of my application even after just submitting the primaries! If there's anyone else out there who is in the middle of your cycle or preparing to applying next year, and you're feeling lost, generic etc. please please give this a try, because so far it's been worth it for me and I'm tired of hearing people hiding and gatekeeping the professional help they've received.

- Time spent getting to know me, my goals, and reviewing my entire application resulted in a cohesive application package. My consultant spent the first couple sessions just getting to know me and my goals. We went over my entire application, including my school list, stats, LoRs, activities, etc before going through my personal statement. This allowed them to identify my "X" factor, which was something I did not even think to emphasize when I was planning it myself. They expertly created a narrative for me by telling a story through my activity descriptions and personal statement. We then strategized which other points we are going to use secondary essay prompts to get across. On the whole, because they got to know me, heard me talk, and read my writing, they preserved my voice throughout the application writing, but in a way that made it sound even better!! This last point was a major distinction from my volunteer reviewers, who all basically re-wrote my essay with their own writing styles which did not sound like my authentic self at all. When we submitted it I was extremely satisfied with the final product (check back in for results later this cycle!).

I have a BSN and my employer offers tuition reimbursement that I want to take advantage of.
Some of my most fulfilling work has been working in a medical facility for the homeless and working in wound care and home health. I thought an MSN in public health would align with my passions but they only offer a Master's of Public health with a concentration in community health leadership.
Does anyone have any insight as to whether this would be a useful degree for me? I'm not entirely sure what I want to do in the future but I imagined something at the health department or in a homeless shelter or clinic.

I’m considering purchasing a Catalina 14.2 Expo because I like the size, often solo sail (but want the option to bring others with me), and I really like the feature where I can furl the main sail around the mast with a pull of a line. This let’s me adjust for wind, but more than that it helps me basically “put on the brakes” so I can get in and out of some tight beach launch locations that I use.
This all said, I’m wondering if there are other dinghy alternatives to consider that have this same main sail furling feature, but also has a jib.

Under the allowance method, if you receive cash for a receivable years after it was written off, does it need to be recognized as revenue? I thought that under the allowance method the revenue and bad debt expense estimate were recorded in the year of sale, according to the matching principle, and the write off would have been a debit to allowance and a credit to receivables. So you debit receivables and credit the allowance to record the recovery and then debit cash and credit receivables to record the receipt (or just debit cash and credit allowance if the money is received at the same time the account is reinstated). My coworker says it should be revenue. When I look it up, the examples I find show it the entry hitting the allowance account, not revenue. Am I missing something?

Long story short... my wife's parents have both died, and one of her brothers who never has had any contact with the family now all of a sudden is texting her and demanding information and documents.
My wife's brother (whom I'll call B1) has been the kind of person whom I've only seen or heard from three times since we got married over 20 years ago. One was at the wedding, the other two times were at each of the funerals for their parents. My mother-in-law used to cry over the fact that he never would call or visit her, ever... except for times when he needed money. His wife is also the kind of person who is manipulative and had him put in jail once, and my in-laws used most of their savings to bail him out. They even bought a car for them, and when it broke down, B1's wife wanted them to provide a replacement car. She also complained that when my wife's grandmother died, they weren't included in the will (but none of the grandchildren were, either). She has always been the type of person with a sense of entitlement.
As soon as my mother-in-law died last year, B1 started asking about how much money was left for them in the will, even before the funeral proceedings were over. My wife and her other brother (I'll call B2) explained to him that their remaining funds were necessary for my father-in-law to live on; he was in assisted living and required the help of memory care, which was quite expensive. After the funeral, B1 and his wife then went through my mother-in-law's belongings at her home, trashing the place as they took anything of value they could find, and left without even shutting the front door as they left town. Among the valuables they took were my father-in-law's military awards from the Vietnam War. B2 and my wife had previously told him that they wanted to display his medals at his funeral, when he would eventually die. Despite multiple attempts to contact B1 and have the medals returned, he never responded. Our assumption is that he sold them for money.
Recently, my father-in-law died, and when B1 was asked to come to the funeral and bring the medals, he claims that he looked everywhere but couldn't find them. At the funeral, he again asked about how much was left in the inheritance. Now, my wife had received power of attorney for her parents before they died, to make decisions regarding their medical care and assist with paying their bills, etc. Once her father died, she and B2 thought it would be wise to consult with a lawyer to handle the will.
B1 has been asking for documents about my father-in-law, including his social security number, some military documents, etc., so he can "learn more about his life". It turns out that B1 has the same name as his father, and our suspicion is that he wants to have his SSN so that he can try to obtain funds from the trust before it is properly distributed. Last night he sent my wife a text, saying that she must send him a copy of the trust, a copy of the power of attorney, and the lawyer's information, for him and his lawyer, within 12 hours. (At the time of this post, this means we have about half an hour remaining to do that, haha.) Of course, my wife is concerned that he might try to steal their father's identity and steal money from the account. I have suggested she ask the lawyer working on the trust what she is legally obligated to share with her brother. For what it's worth, she doesn't even have the trust right now, which she says is hundreds of pages long and the lawyer currently has it, so she couldn't provide that to B1 anyway.
What, if anything, are we legally obligated to give her brother at this time?

For a little background, I (F22) have not been in school in 5-6 years and yet ever since then I have not been able to stop dreaming about this one kid from my year at the time (another background: I had a crush on this kid from grade 3 - grade 10 ish) but anyway ever since like 2017 - 2018, ive been having dreams about him (not every night but randomly), and the dream consists of us being friends and flirting with eachother but last night, in the dream we were actually dating (Background again, he used to harass me & my friends in elementary school, in high school he'd probably describe me as annoying, we also lived on the same street in elementary school, I used to hang out with his mom & dog) but I just don't know what these dreams mean like is he thinking about me? Is it my subconscious just f-ing with me? Do I miss him? (Is he my soulmate? Is he a past life lover?) I need advice (and it's not like we text, so idk what to do)

Hello,
I am 20 years old, Greek and I suspect I have UARS. My symptoms, which I have experienced basically as long as I can remember, are the following: Cognitive impairment / Brain fog / Always do things at the last minute Orthostatic Intolerance / Pots + My head always feels heavy/tense Very weird and vivid dreams, frequent sleep paralysis episodes Instantly transition to REM when lying down, even when having slept 10 hours and it's 7 pm.
As for my nasal breathing, I think my left nostril is constantly blocked, it also emits a foul-bloody smell when I externally rub my nose. I recently irrigated my nostrils with salt water, which fully unlocked my left nostril , but shortly after it gets stuffed again.
My brother and mother also have pots, I've also been told that I snore, and so does my father and brother. My uncles also snore, one got recently diagnosed with apnea.
I tried to get a sleep study done but didn't get approval cause I'm young and not obese (I'm skinny fat and chronically online). Was told that it's just anxiety *sigh*. I'm also concerned that a sleep study will produce negative results since I'm not sure if RERA's are scored here.
So, what do you think?
I'm considering taking the initiative and ordering a used resmed airsense 10 off ebay. I still have some research to do on how to set it up, use OSCAR and potentially reflash the device to vpap. But it doesn't look too complicated.
