2023.06.09 05:30 Glittering_Tie194 Hurry up 91 bitcoins puzzle is now live!
Hello everyone! As you know a legendary bitcoin whale transferred it's bitcoins from a wallet that contained 1128 bitcoins, dormant for several years, in batch to different wallets in April. I have converted a wallet containing 91 bitcoins into a puzzle. The puzzle has been locked into an nft with a total supply of 210 only. To participate in this puzzle all you have to do is to buy the nft and then solve the puzzle hidden in unlockable content. The one who successfully able to crack the puzzle will be the owner of these Bitcoins. Follow me because I will soon put the nft on sale without any prior notification. It's a surprise sale đ! The link to the nft is in bio.
Some additional information:
The initial floor price will be 0.3 ethereum only. The decision to place a price of 0.3 Ethereum on this puzzle is a testament to the underlying philosophy that nothing truly valuable is ever given away freely. It serves as a powerful reminder that those who dare to invest in their dreams, who are willing to take calculated risks, are the ones who emerge victorious.
Consider these words: "Only those who dare to venture into the unknown, who are willing to cast aside the safety of convention, will discover the true treasures that lie beyond. For in the realm of risks and challenges, it is the adventurers who carve their path and claim the ultimate rewards."
Let the rarity of this limited collection of 210 NFTs serve as a testament to its allure. With only a select few holding the key to the Bitcoin treasure within, you become part of an elite group of daring individuals, united by their hunger for adventure and their willingness to chase the extraordinary. Be the first the seize the peice of this unique artwork!

2023.06.08 22:00 10Kfireants Possible Sioux Falls newbie
Hi. I grew up in (and later worked in) West-Central Nebraska, and the love of my life took a job promotion in Duluth, MN.
TL;DR We live in Duluth, he's now looking at a very promising position in Sioux Falls and I have questions.
The pros: Sioux Falls would be much closer to my Nebraska family and friends, and much much closer to my people in the Omaha area but still close to MN. It also isn't a Twin Cities commute.
It'd also be warmer, as I knew MN winters would suck but did not foresee 50° and 60° summers. I also like how blue MN is and not just the lakes, and Sioux Falls def seems like a nice little blue pocket in SD (LOVED the posts about pride!), not unlike my beloved Joe-maha :) (Omaha was Nebraska's sole Joe-voter if you didn't know!)
What scares the shit out of me (questions): 1.) Our relationship thrived after moving to Duluth but finding work here is hard . I work in marketing after a career in journalism. I've built my resume up to include marketing agency and marketing for a company, and I'm still getting edged out of Duluth jobs as the 2nd or 3rd-place IF I make it to the final interview.
A quick look at SF on Indeed scares me ... Like Duluth, it's a big-ish city surrounded by nothing, with lots of direct sales and not many posted incomes. Hospital and bank marketing is HARD to get, at least up here.
Is it cliquey and "who you know" in Sioux Falls? I'd expected Duluth to be easier to land than the big Twin Cities and found a cliquey, old money "It's who you blow" Community instead.
2.) Making friends and the community: Friendly? Passive-aggressive? Cliquey? Will it take me 3 years to make friends?
3.) Outdoors: I've seen your Falls! Gorgeous. Are there other good parks, lakes and hikes? You're next door to the land of 10K (12K) lakes so is it similar in that respect for Greenspace?
I've seen people ask similar things in community FB groups and EVERY TIME they get, "this place is terrible! Don't move here! Meh!" So I'm coming to Reddit instead :). Appreciate honest answers!

2023.06.08 13:53 nicoleflesher Shop Quality Second-Hand T-shirts Now!
Introduction
In a world increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of fast fashion, the concept of buying second-hand clothing has gained significant traction. Second-hand shopping allows us to reduce waste, support sustainability, and uncover one-of-a-kind fashion treasures. Among the vast array of second-hand garments, t-shirts stand out as versatile essentials that can elevate any outfit.
If you're someone who values both style and sustainability, you're in the right place. In this comprehensive guide, we will take you on a journey through the world of second-hand t-shirts. From where to find them and how to choose the best quality, to styling tips and frequently asked questions, we've got you covered. So, without further ado, let's dive in and explore the wonderful world of second-hand t-shirts!
1. What Makes Second-Hand T-Shirts a Great Fashion Choice?
Second-hand t-shirts offer a plethora of benefits that make them a smart and stylish fashion choice. Let's take a closer look at why shopping for second-hand t-shirts is worth your while:
1.1 Sustainable Fashion: Embrace Eco-Consciousness
The fashion industry is notorious for its negative impact on the environment, from excessive water consumption to harmful chemical usage. By opting for second-hand t-shirts, you actively contribute to the reduction of textile waste and the conservation of precious resources. You become part of the sustainable fashion movement, taking a stand against the environmental damage caused by fast fashion.
1.2 Unique Style: Stand Out from the Crowd
If you're tired of seeing people around you wearing the same mass-produced clothing items, second-hand t-shirts offer a refreshing change. Each vintage or pre-loved t-shirt carries its own story and character, enabling you to express your individuality through your wardrobe choices. You'll find one-of-a-kind prints, retro designs, and even band tees that are no longer in production, making your style truly unique.
1.3 Affordable Prices: Budget-Friendly Fashion
One of the most appealing aspects of shopping for second-hand t-shirts is the affordability factor. With prices significantly lower than retail, you can snag high-quality garments at a fraction of the cost. This opens up endless possibilities to expand your wardrobe without breaking the bank. You can embrace fashion experimentation and explore different styles without worrying about overspending.
1.4 High-Quality Finds: Timeless Durability
Second-hand doesn't mean second-rate. In fact, many vintage and pre-loved t-shirts were made with superior craftsmanship, resulting in better quality than some mass-produced options. By carefully selecting your second-hand t-shirts, you can find timeless pieces that withstand the test of time. Investing in high-quality garments means you'll enjoy their durability and wearability for years to come.
1.5 Ethical Consumption: Support Charitable Causes
When you purchase second-hand t-shirts from thrift stores or online platforms, you often contribute to charitable organizations. Many second-hand retailers partner with local charities, allocating a portion of their sales to support meaningful causes. By shopping for second-hand t-shirts, you become a part of this charitable cycle, promoting social welfare through your fashion choices.
2. Where to Find High-Quality Second-Hand T-Shirts
Now that we've established the many advantages of shopping for second-hand t-shirts, let's explore the various places where you can find high-quality options. Whether you prefer the thrill of treasure hunting in physical stores or the convenience of online platforms, there are plenty of avenues to discover unique and stylish second-hand t-shirts.
2.1 Thrift Stores: Uncover Hidden Gems
Thrift stores are a treasure trove for second-hand fashion enthusiasts. These stores often receive a wide variety of donated clothing items, including t-shirts. Take your time to browse through the racks and explore different sections to find hidden gems. Don't be afraid to try on different styles and sizes, as you never know what might catch your eye. Thrift stores offer an element of surprise and adventure in your quest for second-hand t-shirts.
2.2 Online Marketplaces: Convenience at Your Fingertips
The digital age has revolutionized the way we shop, and second-hand fashion is no exception. Online marketplaces provide a convenient platform to explore a vast selection of second-hand t-shirts. Websites such as eBay, Depop, and Poshmark have thriving communities of sellers offering unique and high-quality garments. You can easily filter your search based on size, brand, or specific design preferences, making it a breeze to find the perfect second-hand t-shirt from the comfort of your own home.
2.3 Vintage Boutiques: Timeless Charm
If you're looking for a more curated and specialized shopping experience, vintage boutiques are the way to go. These boutiques carefully curate their collection of second-hand clothing, ensuring that each piece meets their high-quality standards. Vintage boutiques often have a unique ambiance, transporting you to a different era as you browse through racks of meticulously selected t-shirts. While the prices may be slightly higher than thrift stores, you'll be rewarded with exceptional quality and an unparalleled sense of nostalgia.
2.4 Clothing Swaps: A Community Experience
Clothing swaps have gained popularity as a sustainable way to refresh your wardrobe while fostering a sense of community. These events bring together individuals looking to exchange their pre-loved clothing items, including t-shirts. By participating in a clothing swap, you not only acquire new additions to your wardrobe but also engage in a meaningful exchange that promotes sustainable fashion practices. Check local event listings or organize a clothing swap with friends to explore this eco-friendly and socially interactive way of finding second-hand t-shirts.
2.5 Local Charity Shops: Fashion with a Cause
Local charity shops, often run by nonprofit organizations, offer a unique opportunity to support a cause while shopping for second-hand t-shirts. These shops rely on donated clothing items, and the proceeds from sales are used to fund various charitable initiatives. By shopping at a local charity shop, you can contribute to the betterment of your community while finding hidden fashion treasures. Keep an eye out for special events and sales hosted by these shops for even greater savings and a chance to discover unique second-hand t-shirts.
3. Selecting High-Quality Second-Hand T-Shirts
Once you've identified the ideal shopping locations for your second-hand t-shirts, it's important to know how to select high-quality garments. While the variety and uniqueness of second-hand t-shirts are part of their appeal, you want to ensure that you're investing in pieces that will withstand regular wear and remain in good condition. Consider the following factors when assessing the quality of second-hand t-shirts:
3.1 Fabric Quality: Feel the Difference
The fabric is a key indicator of the overall quality of a t-shirt. Opt for t-shirts made from natural fibers such as cotton or linen, as they tend to be more durable and breathable. Avoid fabrics that feel thin, flimsy, or excessively worn out, as they may not hold up well over time. When examining the fabric, pay attention to any signs of pilling, fading, or stretching, as these could indicate lower quality.
3.2 Construction and Stitching: Look for Attention to Detail
Inspect the stitching of the t-shirt to gauge its construction quality. High-quality second-hand t-shirts will have neat and even stitches, with no loose threads or unraveling seams. Double stitching or reinforced seams in areas like the shoulders and collar contribute to the overall durability of the garment. Additionally, check for any signs of repairs or alterations, as these could affect the structural integrity of the t-shirt.
3.3 Color and Print Condition: Assess Wear and Fading
Examine the color and print of the t-shirt to determine its condition. Look for vibrant colors that have maintained their original intensity, as excessive fading can indicate repeated washing and wear. Pay attention to any cracks or peeling in the print, as this may affect the visual appeal and longevity of the t-shirt. While some signs of wear are expected with second-hand clothing, it's essential to ensure that the t-shirt's overall appearance is still appealing and intact.
3.4 Sizing and Fit: Find the Perfect Match
Finding the right size and fit is crucial when purchasing second-hand t-shirts. Sizes can vary between brands and eras, so it's essential to try on the garment or carefully assess the provided measurements. Look for t-shirts that have a comfortable and flattering fit, with the desired level of looseness or snugness. Keep in mind that alterations can be made if you find a t-shirt with excellent quality and design but slightly off sizing.
3.5 Odor and Cleanliness: Fresh is Best
Before making a purchase, take a moment to assess the odor and cleanliness of the t-shirt. While minor odors can often be remedied with washing, strong or persistent smells may indicate issues that are difficult to remove. Ensure that the t-shirt is clean and free from stains, as heavily stained garments may be challenging to restore. While minor imperfections can add character to second-hand t-shirts, it's important to prioritize cleanliness and freshness.
4. Styling Second-Hand T-Shirts with Panache
Once you've found the perfect second-hand t-shirts to add to your wardrobe, it's time to unleash your creativity and style them in unique and fashionable ways. Second-hand t-shirts offer endless possibilities for creating versatile and on-trend outfits. Here are some styling tips to help you make the most of your second-hand t-shirts:
4.1 Dress It Up or Down: Versatility at Its Finest
One of the greatest advantages of second-hand t-shirts is their versatility. They can effortlessly transition from casual daywear to chic evening ensembles. Pair a vintage band tee with high-waisted jeans and sneakers for a laid-back look, or tuck a fitted second-hand t-shirt into a midi skirt and add heels for a more sophisticated vibe. Experiment with different accessories and outerwear to transform your second-hand t-shirts for any occasion.
4.2 Layering Magic: Add Dimension and Interest
Layering is a fantastic way to add depth and visual interest to your outfits. Combine your second-hand t-shirts with cardigans, blazers, or denim jackets to create stylish layered looks. You can also experiment with different lengths and textures to create a dynamic ensemble. For example, layer a cropped second-hand t-shirt over a longer, flowy blouse and pair it with skinny jeans for a trendy, bohemian-inspired outfit.
4.3 Knots and Tucks: Emphasize Shape and Style
To give your second-hand t-shirts a fresh and modern twist, try knotting or tucking them. A simple front knot at the hem can instantly add a touch of style and create a flattering silhouette. Alternatively, tuck your t-shirt into high-waisted bottoms to define your waistline and achieve a polished look. These small styling techniques can elevate a basic second-hand t-shirt into a fashion-forward statement piece.
4.4 Print Mixing: Unleash Your Creative Flair
Don't be afraid to mix different prints and patterns when styling your second-hand t-shirts. Experiment with contrasting colors and textures to create unique and eye-catching combinations. For example, pair a striped t-shirt with a floral skirt or layer a plaid shirt over a graphic tee. Mixing prints adds an element of playfulness and individuality to your outfits, making your second-hand t-shirts truly stand out.
4.5 Accessorize with Flair: Complete the Look
Accessories play a crucial role in enhancing your second-hand t-shirt outfits. Add statement necklaces, oversized sunglasses, or a wide-brimmed hat to elevate your look. Don't forget about belts, scarves, and handbags to add a pop of color or texture. The right accessories can transform a simple
second-hand t-shirt into a stylish ensemble that reflects your personal style.

Chapter Summaries:
Chapter 64: Treasures:
POV: Kaladin, Shallan
Kaladin is still in prison and is becoming more depressed, not eating, not caring etc. Heâs also having trouble drawing stormlight and Syl is acting flighty like when Kaladin first met her. Meanwhile, in Talnâs cell, Shallan wraps herself in Stormlight, turns herself black and hides in a corner. Amaram questions the madman, focusing on a cache of Shardblades Bordin mentioned. However, the madman continues to rant, and Amaram still wants to seek out these hidden Shardblades. Amaram leaves as does Shallan after copying down the madmanâs words and giving the paper to Iyatil for the Ghostbloods. Later, Mraize sends a message welcoming her to the Ghostbloods.
Chapter 65: The One Who Deserves It
POV: Shallan, one and a half years ago
Shallan begins to take action to get Balat, Eylita and Malise out and away from the Davar estate and her father. She marvels at the concept of freely choosing oneâs own role.
Chapter 66: Stormblessings
POV: Kaladin
Kaladin spirals deeper into depression in the cell but he is suddenly released from prison. He finds that Adolin insists on sharing Kaladinâs incarceration which brings them to a mutual understanding. Kaladin is given a Blade and Plate for his role in the duel and he gifts them to Moash, to show he trusts him. As Bridge Four and other bridgemen cheer Kaladinâs release and go to celebrate, Kaladin talks with Moash and agrees that Alethkar will be better off if King Elhokar is assassinated, which Moash is happy about.
Chapter 67: Spit and Bite
POV: Dalinar
Dalinar and Navani are attending another feast theyâd rather avoid. Navani updates Dalinar about fabrials while Dalinarâs mind wanders on his upcoming expedition across the Shattered Plains. Navani reveals she is trying to take her mind off Jasnah, suddenly breaking down and crying. At the feast, everyone is acting weird around Dalinar, which Amaram reveals is due to someone leaking Navaniâs accounts of his visions. Navani reports that the reports have been twisted to make Dalinar look foolish. Refusing to be embarrassed, Dalinar steps onto a table and reports the visions as true. He spends the rest of the evening reporting on the visions, and has a troubling conversation with Wit.
Chapter 68: Bridges
POV: Kaladin
House Kholin heads onto the Shattered Plains for an expedition, which will allow Shallan to see a chasmfiend chrysalis. Kaladin is still failing to draw in Stormlight. He sees a carpenter he recognizes but canât place. Moash informs Kaladin that the assassination is almost ready and his part will be simple and easy. Adolin distracts Kaladin with a conversation about the Assassin in White, women and an attempt to figure out Kaladinâs powers, which Kaladin admits nothing. They still have a moment of camaraderie together all the same. After conversing with Dalinar about the mobile bridges, as Dalinar crosses a bridge, Kaladin suddenly recognizes the carpenter as one of Sadeasâ and tries to warn Dalinar. Adolin reaches Dalinar as Kaladin reaches Shallan and the bridge collapses.
Chapter 69: Nothing
POV: Kaladin, Shallan - The Chasms
As Syl screams, Kaladin gets a rush of Stormlight and hits the bottom, hurting but alive. Shallan and Kaladin meet up and both theorize privately how they saved the other from a 200 ft fall. They search the bodies in the chasm and do not find Dalinar or Adolin, only dead spearmen and Parshendi. A highstorm is due the following night and they need to make it back to the warcamps. Shallan admires the variety of planet life in the chasm while Kaladin is focused on getting them out. They snark back and forth at each other louder and louder until a noise puts a stop to their arguing: an approaching chasmfiend. They run.
Chapter 70: From A Nightmare
POV: Shallan, Kaladin
Kaladin leads the mad dash through the chasms to escape the beast chasing them. Shallan suddenly leads them back to where they first fell with the dead bodies and the beast begins feeding on the bodies. Shallan takes a Memory of the beast and they continue walking, wanting to get as far from the chasmfiend as possible. Shallan manages to draw a map of the chasms which they use to navigate their way through. They get to talking and open up some, Shallan swearing she means no harm to Adolin or his family. Sunlight reveals that they are going the wrong way.

2023.06.08 02:14 The_Alloquist [A Lord of Death] - Chapter 62 (Aya)
[âChapter 61] [Cover Art] [My Links] [Index] [Discord] [Subreddit] [Chapter 63â] Balae and Kieren managed to compose themselves before Aya had a chance to speak.
âExcuse us, excuse us,â said the older merchant, attempting to straigten his robes, âyes, yes, I certainly know that house symbol.â
âWhat is it? Whatâs wrong?â Aya said, terrified that sheâd caused some great offense to this friendly man.
âNothingâs wrong my dear, itâs justâŠâ Balae began, his eyes trailing toward the device in her hands.
âYou carry with you a personal sygil of a house, young lady,â cut in Kieren, âthatâs synoptic bronze, and might very be centuries old. Itâs priceless.â
âThatâs why we were so shocked. Itâs not something you simply give!â laughed Balae, although it had a nervous edge, âyour mother mustâve been treasured by her family to receive something that precious.â
Ayaâs hand retracted slightly, holding the bronze close to her breast, and thinking about the expression of her mother when sheâd handed it to her. Had she known it was that precious, she wouldâve been more careful with it. Thank the Lost that sheâd not lost it in the river when she fell in under the earth.
âWell, my friend,â said Balae, âI think we can be of some aid. However, the city canals are blocked off in preparation for the festival. And I donât doubt the house of your mother is up to the gills with work! Itâd best be settled in the morning when everyone is fresh and rested. Have a good evening, and we can absolutely find them in the morning.â
âOf course,â Lillian said, âthank you so much. Aya, please, if you would.â
âThank you,â she said, offering a little bow as she was carted away.
âThink nothing of it!â they called to her, as they were taken to another exit from the pyramid.
They were lead up a wooden stare case, into a series of apartments. It was a very strange building, with only a few solid central walls. The rest of the rooms were made of sliding panels of wood and paper. Every room had mats of interwoven reeds that softened the step and warmed the floor.
The place they were led was a partition of two separate rooms, one for the girls, the other for men. There was a large, covered bed that Lillian insisted that Sorore and Aya take, while the housekeeper promised to send for additional blankets for her. As soon as they were alone, the paladin took Aya by the hand and looked her sternly in the eye.
âIt wasnât wise to do that,â she said, âto present your familyâs sigil.â
âWhy not?â Aya asked, genuinely confused.
âWeâre only planning to be in the town for a few days, nothing more,â Lillian said, âwhatever reunion you might have would be short, and would likely only serve to complicate matters more.â
âWhat?â Aya said, holding Lillianâs gaze firmly, âwhat do you mean âcomplicateâ things? I want to see my motherâs family while Iâm here. Why would it matter if it was only a few days?â
âIâve said my piece,â Lillian said, letting go and turning away to strip her heavy plate.
âNo you havenât,â said Aya, grasping her firm shoulder and attempting to turn her around, âlook at me. Youâre not telling me something.â
âI have told you everything you need to know. Now, I suggest you get some rest,â Lillian said, removing one shoulder plate and setting it carefully down on the ground.
âWhy are you avoiding the question?â she said.
The paladin said nothing, and Sorore stepped forward to sooth the girl.
âCome on,â she said, âletâs prepare for bed. We can talk more about it in the morning, when weâre all less tired.â
She and Aya washed and dried themselves, in basins provided by the housekeeper. She was careful to note that towels were made in Nieth, hand embroidered and used in their great baths. Sorore was first to crawl under the light covers and settle in, turning towards Aya.
âCome on,â she said, reaching out for her in a playful way, âsleep will make things better. Itâs so nice having an actual bed.â
âI⊠donât feel tired,â said Aya, âI think Iâm going outside. Just to the balcony. Am I allowed to do that?â
She gave a sharp look at Lillian, who was in the middle of addressing a cut along her side that had opened.
âAm I going to have to run after you?â she said, returning the look.
âNo. Unless the balconies are going to kill me,â retorted Aya.
âThen you may,â she said, turning back to dress her wound.
Aya pushed open one of the sliding panels, walked across the hallway, and opened one of the doors to the balcony. The air here was so delightfully warm, even in the middle of the night. The mountain air was chilly even in the height of summer. The balcony was large, running across the entire length of the floor that she was on, with a solid railing running across it.
She was glad for the railing as she slid her thin legs between the slates, looking out at the dense city before her. Her eyes carried her out towards a cloudless sky, where the moonlight glittered on the dark waters of the sea beyond. The only thing that broke it up was the thousands of vessels of various sizes, whose lamps cast a warm orange glow across the water.
She lay her head on the top of the railing, closing her eyes and letting the breeze flow over here. Even the salty smell of the waters beyond and below was comforting in a way the mountains had never been. There was something deep within her that called to this place - it made sense that her mother had come from this place, and had seemed so out of it in the mountain village.
She wondered what exactly her family was like here, and what they did. Her grandmother was a chief, or was - perhaps she was retired to happy family life now. She imagined a kindly woman in the recesses of advanced age, all wrinkles and grey hair, sitting back in a chair by the fire. She would tell stories of all the happenings of the city, and all the mischief that sheâd gotten up to in her youth. Perhaps sheâd even take the time, weary as she was, to cook with Aya, and share secrets that had taken a lifetime to accrue-
âHi,â came a voice, as something sat with a thump besides her.
Her eyes flickered open at the interruption, and there was Frare, his red hair dark in the evening.
âWhat are you doing here?â she sighed, closing her eyes again and trying to get back to that dreamlike state.
âGot bored. Niche is boring,â he said with his now familiar bluntness, âbesides, I donât like being in those rooms. Too small. I always preferred being⊠out.â
âAnd why are you talking to me?â
âBecause youâre not boring, most of the time.â
âThanks,â she said, opening her eyes once more, knowing that the tranquil calm sheâd felt was permanently shattered.
âYouâre welcome,â he said, either oblivious to or ignoring the sarcasm.
There was a silence for a time, broken only by Frare kicking his feet against the balcony.
âSo, why do you think theyâre all lying?â
âWhat?â Aya said.
âThe paladins, the trader, theyâre all lying,â he said, with perfect confidence, âitâs obvious.â
âLying about what?â
âYou think they were surprised at the device? Nope. That was quick thinking by Kieren. They only reacted after they saw the sigil. So, they were terrified because of who your family is.â
âOh,â said Aya, the doubts in her head falling into place with the words.
âYou didnât notice. Well hereâs another thing,â Frare said, clearly pleased with himself, âLillian was panicked as soon as you started asking about your family. It was written, all over her face, plain as day.â
âReally?â she said.
Sheâd known Lillian wasnât telling the whole truth, but sheâd not had the chance to look at her during the exchange with the merchant.
âYup,â Frare said with a grin, âso she knows, or suspects, that your family is trouble.â
âHuh,â she said.
âNot the first time that sheâs kept stuff from us,â Frare said, âI think she pretends to be stupider than she really is.â
âWell, thereâs no point to it,â Aya said, closing her eyes once more, âweâll settle it in the morning.â
âYou really think so?â Frare said, tapping his feet on the balcony struts.
âYou doubt the hosts?â
âOh, absolutely. Would you leave it to the morning if you were them?â
âSo, you think that theyâve⊠what?â
âWell, from the way they reacted, it sounds like your familyâs cursed. Wouldnât be surprised if they tried to kill us.â
âWhat?!â Aya said, her eyes snapping open to try and detect any sense of sarcasm from the boy.
She found him still grinning, but not in a way that suggested that it was humorous.
âThatâs ridiculous,â she said, raising her head, âtheyâre our hosts.â
âAnd the paladinâs are supposed to be protectors. What kind of protectors lie to their wards?â Frare shrugged.
Aya found that she had no good argument to that, though she did try.
âAlthough, maybe Iâm wrong,â he said, âperhaps tonight, perhaps tomorrow, weâll see soon enough I suppose.â
âYou seem to be making an awful effort to be careless,â she said, noting his dangling feetâs persistent effort to tap out a whole song on the struts.
âI donât care,â Frare said, âitâs just the way things are.â
âUh-huh,â she said, âif thatâs so, then why did you not bring it up to the paladins, or your sister?â
âWhat good would it do? With the paladins, theyâd just refuse. As for SororeâŠâ
He looked down at his feet and kicked them harder, as if trying to drive off doubts.
âShe gets worried easily,â he said, âI wouldnât want to make her upset.â
The insight, quite unannounced nor predicated on any physical sight, plopped right into Ayaâs head.
âI donât think youâre talking about your sister,â she said, looking at the boy with renewed interest.
âWhat? Of course I am. I said âSororeâ,â he said.
There it was, the nervous flit of the eyes, subtle, but definite. How could she not have noticed before? It was plain as the nose on his face.
âOh really?â she said, âthen tell me, if things are just the way they are which you certainly donât care about. Why are you trying to explain them to me? Why even bother, why not just go to bed, and skip the boring parts?â
Frare faltered, just for a moment, but it was enough to seize upon.
âMaybe it's because youâre afraid of the dreams?â
Right on target. His eyes fell, the kicking grew louder, and his fingers began to twitch ever so slightly.
âWell,â he said, âthereâs also that.â
Aya blinked - she thought he would bluster, would deny, and yet here he was giving it all up without a fight. Her emotions melted from annoyance and jeering if playful conflict, to a sense of solidarity.
âYeah, there is,â she said, running her fingers through her hair, âI had one this morning. It was like, an endless lake, mirroring the sky. And there was something big in the water, circling me. It almost⊠said something, I think.â
The boy was silent for a moment, trying to piece together something to say.
âI did too,â he finally spoke out to the world, as if it was some shameful secret.
âDo tell,â she said, yawning.
He looked at her, and she could see a genuine pang of fear.
âIt was a tree, a big tree, bigger than this house, than this entire city,â he said, âits bark was⊠just⊠drenched. Red, red everywhere. Waterfalls across its whole length. There was the sound of weeping, from within the tree, so I went closer.â
His face was hidden in his hands.
âI tried to push into the tree, tried to find the voice,â he said, âI got covered, then I realized⊠it was all blood. The red.â
The boy was trying to choke back a sob at the word âbloodâ. Aya, unable to stop herself, reached over and pulled him into a hug. Quietly, terribly, he began to cry, his shoulders shaking in her arms. They stayed like that for a good few minutes, even after heâd managed to calm himself.
âIâm sorry,â he suddenly said, pushing her away, face burning with shame.
âNo, itâs okay, I-â she said, reaching for him as he stood.
A hurried âgood nightâ, and he vanished into the corridor before she could stop him. She sighed, and looked out once more to the moon and the silver sea. It was a moment before she realised that a pale light was bleeding through her arms. There was no pain, nor disorientating visions, only the steady pulse of thin lines, etched into her skin.
âWhy are you doing this?â she said to the lines, hoping against hope that there might be a response.
There was nothing. Figures.
âI should go apologise to him,â she said, leaving âand check if heâs okayâ unsaid to the air.
âShe be fine, she always is,â said a voice from behind her.
âWho said that?â she practically shouted.
She whirled, finding only Lillian there with a surprised expression.
âI didnât say anything, my lady,â she said, looking around.
âI thought I heard⊠never mind, it was some errant wind I guess,â she said quickly.
Lillian shut the sliding door behind her as she came to sit beside the girl. She looked uncomfortable without her armour on, as if it was a second skin that had simply vanished into thin air. Still, she kept a short sword at her side, along with a significant knife. Aya had no doubt if they experienced any interruptions tonight, a threat would find her just as dangerous as with full plate.
âMy lady,â she said, âI feel as if I owe you an apology.â
Her annoyance returned, hotter than before.
âWell? Get on with it,â she said.
âI feel⊠I feel as if weâve gotten off on the wrong foot,â she said, her smile weak, âafterall, even I forget that we only meet⊠my word, less than a week ago. We hardly know each other, and I took you from your home, farther than you mightâve ever been.â
Aya waited for her to continue, her own feet beginning to drum on the struts.
âI know that I seem secretive and unresponsive at times,â she said, âI do withhold information that I think would be harmful to you. Things I donât think you need to know, and might cause you grief. Others have done the same with me, and I can understand if you begrudge me that.â
âWell, if thereâs to be a new spirit of honesty between us,â Aya cut in, with a little more searing sarcasm than she meant, âtell me two things. Just two.â
The paladin nodded.
âOne, why did you panic when I talked about my family?â
Her face twisted as she tried to process the question.
âThe commander⊠he warned me that you had a family in Karkos. A wealthy one,â she said, âI donât know how he would know, but⊠thatâs what he said. He advised me that it would be wise, to avoid complicated the situation further. I agreed with him. What if your family tried to keep you here?â
Aya felt her annoyance give way to astonished fury.
âYou- The commander-â she said, âyou tried to keep me from my family?â
âI recognize that- It sounds worse than-â
âIt sounds worse than it is?!â she said, her voice rising, âYou lied to me, tried to stop me from asking? Why? To make it easier on you?!â
The paladin was clearly regretting her attempt to make peace. She raised her hands, trying to placate the anger girl, but there was no stopping Aya as she shot to her feet.
âWhat about me?â she cried, âdid you even think about what I wanted?â
âI-â
âAnd two!â she said, pointing an accusing finger at the paladin, âwhatâs the dirty secret you wonât even tell Niche about? The one about how you were sent to the far north with only a handful of soldiers.â
Lillianâs face went white with shock.
âHow could you possibly-â
âYou think weâre deaf? Do you think weâre stupid?â Aya practically screamed.
She could hear rustling inside the house, perhaps Sorore or Niche were rousing at the noise. She didnât not care one whit about it.
Lillianâs face was cold, focused, steeling itself from the onslaught of words.
âWhat I do is to keep you safe,â she said, pulling herself straight, âit is my duty, and my honor.â
âSafe from what? Doubt?!â Aya said.
Anger. Anger was a catalyst. Anger was Emotion. She wanted Lillian to go away, to leave her alone to find her family. Something crackled in the air, something snaked around her shoulders, whispering in her ear. Aya was beyond using just words.
âMy lady,â said Lillian, looking at the scars of pale light opening on her hands and forearms.
Before the power that was building up could be released, in what form Aya couldnât guess, the door was thrust open. Distracted, the pair looked to the newcomers, and found a tall man in brass armour studded with pearls and seashells.
âLady Aya?â he said, looking directly at her.
âWho are you?â she said, her rage momentarily forgotten.
âI am captain Hilario Dominata,â he said, with a small bow, âof the legion of sea and salt. I have come to retrieve and escort you to the Eisen estate, on orders of your grandmother matriarch Aysatra.â

2023.06.07 15:20 Bogey4hoo 'Surving The Win' - Chapter 009B.
'Faze'.
At the, "Dere-Licht," Manor, upon the Steps of the Stairs, a Smoked Pipe was placed. In the very Centre of the Meeting Hall (the Room off to the Side from the Bottom of the Stairwell), there was another one, as well. Okay well, throughout the entire building... More like, a GREAT number!
Avem had them placed all throughout that Rebuilt Old Character House, and within that Glorified Mansion, there were Smoked Pipes, In and On Cupboards, Resting Upon Windowsills (with the Drapes Pulled or Left Open), upon Countertops, Hidden Inside of Bookshelves (if not Resting Upon them), of course on the Mantle, Hidden In and Around Corners.. at Every End, Above and Slightly Adjacent to Entrances, and even some, which were included upon the Tabletops...
All of these Smoking Pipes, some with Ashen Remainders in them, some only Constructed Models of, what we imagine, would have been kept for their Interest Sake, were watched by a Careful Set-Up, of Video Surveillance.
The Surveillance, Signaled Hanging Display Monitors, all throughout the House, and also at Avem's Lab in Tokyo. Some of these Monitors, were Hanging from the Ceiling, at the Walls, Facing Down and Into the Rooms. Others, in the Bedrooms, were Level with Sitting Chairs, where one might want to Sit Down and Look At Them.
They were Set Up, Primarily, To Catch Every Angle and Motion of Light or Shadow Upon or Within the Pipes. This Recording of Smoked Rememberances, took place Every Night and Day, from the Rising to the Setting of the Sun, all Throughout the Years. What were the Ashes for?
âŠ
Granny Smith, he yelled. I'm telling you! She didn't believe him one bit. And you pretend you weren't looking for me!?...
She interrogated him fearsomely. Do you know who I am???
Do you know who I am, "Roared," Perry, back at her, bleakly. He was terrified. Though, he somehow managed to pull off a tone, which mirrored her own, with mock mavery.
Down the hall, there was a beep. Close the door, Swarma commanded, looking out through the interrogation Room's Exit. There was the sound of a, "fwoosh," and a, "click," outside of it. Nobody had been at the Exit, either to push or to pull it's heavy door, closed. There was also no telling, of where that other door might be. She took a swab and daubed Perry with it quickly, before leaving. Wait right here, she cackled, smiling a leerily-wisening old grin, as she left him to total.
What's doing this to you? shrieked Ren. June had actually been, in all fact, sobbing and in dread. Her body, becoming purple, as it was, "cast," with some thick layer of unknown chrysoform, which continued to cover her in variegating patches, no matter how much she scratched or peeled. It seemed to keep leaking out from her pores in beads, which coalesced over her skin, recombined, and matted. Heaving, she threw a chunk at the Vending Machine.
She was sitting in Emergency, having just made it through Triage. These are for you, said the Faithful and Believing, Catholic Lady Friend of Wells, who passed her some Pamphlets from the Lecture.
The Professor had stopped everything, to see to it that this kind Lady, would bring Juniper to ER, post-haste. June had brought Ren along as a Study Buddy, for Note-Taking, with a Bribe.
Initially, June went out to the Mountains, to collect Perry's belongings from the Rented Cabin. Upon arriving back in town, both she and Ren decided to Drive out to the College for a Lecture, and to Sight-See, while asking people around the Area if they had Seen or Heard from Perry. Could he be haunting her somewhere? Was there any hope?
Although... the Professor HAD, abruptly interrupted his Lecture to find one of his CPR-trained staff to escort Juniper to the nearby Hospital E.R., in the event that she might not make it there herself, and was, "Truly," facing a Medical Crisis.
The Vending Machine, went lame, and the lights in ER flickered for a moment. I'm getting creeped, said Ren. That's all!
June's problem stemmed back, from when she ate the Oatmeal, which Perry had left behind at the Cabin, while she was inside it, looking at a Newspaper and Doodling.
Some of Avem's Team, had been in the Trails previously, and Driven a Snowmobile through them, tracing Chemicals through the Snow. A or Spoken Split. It had been at just one of her Lab's Testing Zones.
Avem had caught onto Perry, first, when her Voice Exploded from a Crackling Ice Wyrm/ âiââSÄqa-Ć aqqa, in the Cabin's Fireplace.
Avem had been Writing her Vocals into the Chemical Strains of the Ice-Wyrm Constituency Potion, which she concocted in her Lab, and Spread Rumours about, then Codifying it with Automatic Cyber-Sentience Response-Forms, which took initiatives, based on Environmental Factors, and in turn, fed back Information. This Data, was made readable by her Reverse Tonic, which Tabulated it, by Codices, which had Variables in her own Mental Inter-Framing. Cog-Notes, if you will, to her own Cognition. All of, these, Variables, which entered her Consideration, let her Pry, both on Known, and Unknown, Territories. She frequently Drank her Cyber-Tonic from a Vial in her Lab, while going over Her Work.
Perry Wheeled, and Stumbled around the Room, trying to avoid the Icicle Firecrackers, which were Sounding Off whenever he Slid and/or Stepped upon them. He'd apparently been Mega-Dosed, and was now about to Learn what in the World of a Mega-Dosed, Felt Like when Under and In It.
The Wyrms were Sounding Off, in an Acoustics Array, and Perry, Bounded and Rebounded Turning Listless as the Chrysalids Exited him, and Becoming Reinterred into Motion Again, by their Sounds. He was now, well... Not Feeling Like a Perry. That and he was Done, Done, and, "Roared," out. He could No Longer even Find his Own Vocal to Bless How He Felt. Avem came back in, when the Turnabout was Over. She had Observed Perry by a Camera Hidden in the Room, which was Hooked up to her Monitors for Surveillance, as well. Turning on a Ventilation Fan, from outside, which led the Room's Air into a Separate Chamber, she had Two People, Dressed in Dark Robes, walk in, and move Perry back to his Chair, now Limp. They Swept Up, the Remaining Crystalline Deciduates, and Drains Opened, which Took the Little Bit of Liquidine Debris, Out of the Room. Perry, was now Toned.
Swarma, Placed her Hand on his Forehead, at First to Take his Temperature, and then, Mentally Calibrating his Vocal Remembrance within Herself, Uttered a Word to him, While he sat Slumped over the Chair, Catatonic. The Word.
And Therein, may be a Key... His Subconscious Mind, would most certainly Remember. She Had Uttered It, in His Very Own Vocal Tone. Why? It Rendered him Cognizant and Triggered His Mentality, as though His Own... Though, Truly?... Her Own.
Perry was allowed, with the other Time Wraiths as escort, to slowly move around the Manor and familiarize himself with it. He was being taught by them, how to remain very still for long periods of time. Many of the Time Wraiths, were flown out to the Lab down in Tokyo, to use the computers on their Night-Watch Network. The Lab there, housed her prized Hua Niu ("Black Diamond") Apple, Bonsai, kept under specialized lighting, plus numerous other artefacts. It was set up like somewhat of a Museum, with one dimly lit, humming room for computer observancy, which apart from Monitor glare, left much to the realm of the keen observer.
The 34, often formed a Large Pentagram, with two people at each of the five elemental points, two people between each elemental point encompassing, two people between each elemental point intersecting, two people in the very centre, and two people encircling round about. Underneath them, was stone masonwork in black basalt, and a large star outline, traced with gold inlay.
A chandelier hung above them, and the room had an overview of the gated entrance, where birds were often seen in trees, and light could pour in, but at night, the glass of these windows turned sheet-black to buffet them in, high enough up that none might peep.
By no commotion of ceremony, the participants would stand and hear the NicNeven recite her Canon address. The fruits her Science had yielded, sounded in the Hall, and into their collective memory, which disbanded when they did, after she read from her book.
The book, made from gene paper, was their Canon, and this... only a meeting hall. Despite its congressional form, summons were not of sell out to World Teachings. She ranked as their Science-elected, matriarch, of mental-modernity, by the facet of old typings and tyings, to, "new," teachings.
Ruminations from the fruits of her labwork, thereat would be discussed. For if nobody would have them, they most certainly would. Then, and only then, would the lines be codographed (some of the Night-Watch, were also very good hackers). They were secretly culted-over, but by few, and their practicum bore method, not mere devotion. The team were, "Nec-Will'OâMancer"-affiliate.

What did you have me on? Some sort of Cerelium Slick? El, in Perry, broke out bawling. Something so licentious that I canât tell Iâm licked. HaHa.
His stupor adored him with affection, and he had a hammering affectation from it. It caused him to clout his knowing, though only briefly.
Perry came through, yamming⊠Iâm looking back on days of Candy Cloaker Gobstoppers! You mean you literally had me erased⊠or, where am I?
You Hide no Burger, in Finding Fries, Perald. Daytime is where I have you.
At that, there had been an unconventional or out-of-the-norm convening, where not-an-one of all the attendants had-in, to agree, "We are Necropolitan"... Though, their greed to know, would grow.
Perry led himself back in, looking for his girlfriend, strangely feeling sold out of his nut.
âŠ
Ironically, it was just at that point that Juniper had made it there. She too was undergoing her thought detexturing, ârinse,â that is, the opposite of any detox, after looking like a Raisin May's, âIn.â
This was to be the, âTurnabout (a new Ceremony was declared by Avemâs Host in Relative-Caster Company, and held somewhat like a House Party).â
A $9,000.00 Maitland Smith Dollhouse Bar Cabinet, was off in isolated room of the newly Renovated Manor, with a load of Porcelain Dolls and cameras to watch it.
That room was off limits.
Juniper had had it in her know long afore, in dream. Now to hack Avem⊠oh, where?
âŠ
"Osa," circuit of my air... How can, "I," enfold you? Swarma asked, with a vestitude, which only, behooved to surmise her, with surreptitious guiltiness of paridyllic refrain.
She, âThe NicNeven,â winked meaningfully, holding an extremely rare pipe up, skyward.
The Time Wraiths all sat, in their, âFâarm-Ended Theatre apart from the once-Ballroom.
Quieting down, it was in their circle that a cast occurred, but in truth they were no relative summoners and Avemâs Mafia had elected them afresh.
That is⊠that as they were all a, somewhat afraid and eerily sketched out, âFresh Crop,â yet and though, she would in fact, have them richly afforded, in Good Time.
âŠ
Avemâs Mafia had sent the former Nec-WillâOâMancers over to her Manor for the Renovations.
Avem, then, was Crowned, âAccorded,â and the Newly Selected Time Wraiths, could be Trained.
Avemâs Clue In, in her new Role, while in her old Manor seemed to live in itâs espies.
I mean, they must have had her drugged for the whole house to be enchanted, somehow, but the only question is who set it up, and when?
One of her clues, came from a former Nec-WillâOâMancer silently shadow-encoaching a novice approved in the group, by his far larger boding of path had, in-the-off. She heard the man in her head as well, ruling that Smith had to explore her ties in the Mafia, through rank, a second time, and thus a later, termed-submission as a right of accession, had been officed.
She, once again (the man went over in his mind) being indoctrinated into Mafia rank, though slowly, because her freedom-release methods, were her own merital device, and she needed a longer time to work at them.
Avem, had canned herself intentionally, to stay at a head, but nobody fully knew, how it was done.
Reptilian Mind Control.
-â-
How could that be?
Look to the Wind, and we shall ride. ~ "Phantom Riding The Whip," where one is not standing on top of a vehicle, but rather, riding over a different type of, "Whip," as a, "Phantom-Circuit." ~
"Now we admonish," they recited.
"Peace be," stated the NicNeven. She inhaled from the lit pipe.
They all, âdoned,â her infuriatingness, with amicability.
Now yes, your highest love, and whatâs our gift they forecried, awaiting something.
Not of in an any Dib of forgery⊠You will undoubtedly see. She canned.
Please donât mess us or master us mental, Avem, one girl joked, admitting the kind dark lair WAS weird.
That's Missus, Avem relegated ghasting.
âŠ
Now, I have here the document they stole it from, a man entering the room said. He read aloud,
The remains of a, "chicote"/"cigar butt"/"cigarette butt."
The Nec-Will'O'Mancers, then stated in unison, reading off of the pamphlets they'd previously been handed out, though in a less clear-and-determined tone, or well (it seemed), in a way that hummed and wandered.
"... Far l'fo, Ho glow. How we sway. How does a hard tar, Lie her thieu, In a chi, icy high..."?
When they were finished reciting, the man continued speaking.
By, "sukunai," "ć°ăȘă," the man continued in Japanese⊠a word, which means, "few or little," with the root word, "ć°ă ("ăăă," "sukoshi").""
Avem exhaled. "The synonym for, which is, "chotto," she said. So yes... in other words? "A little." "ăĄăăŁăš ("chotto")," may I add, it has a root word in the adverb, "chito..." "... "ăĄăš ("chito")," as in, "slightly," "a little," "a bit," or, "somewhat," where, "㥠("chi," means, âsmallâ)," and, "ăš ("to," is an adverbial particle). "ăš ("to")," is also a noun, which is short for, "ăšé (tokin)," which will now indicate a promoted, "æ©ć
” ("fuhyĆ," or, "pawnâ)," that, "moves," like a, "éć° ("kinshĆ," or, âgold generalâ).""
Thus, what might have been inferred, perhaps, was that a, "Chicote," in a pipe, was, more or less, alike unto a, "Chi ChĂłt," if it did indeed implicate such.
A, "ChĂłt," of course, meaning something at the, "Bottom," "Lowest Extremity," or, "End," of something, and from there, or at that point, perhaps even then moving forward.
Chicote, apart from being a form of Tobacco, was also, in all truth, a form of, "Whip," known for being a Scourge, in places like the Congo.
The NicNeven, had already caught wise to this, and also how, this form of Tobacco, may have had it's own "Xicohtli (a Nahuatl word, for, "Bumblebee")."
I guess, what needed to be said most (as a nod to the Indigenous People), was that they were good to hold a Peace over the Herb, and also Bow...
Some people may have needed a Peace Blessed over them, knowing the Nature of how all Words exist with ties to Power.
âŠ
This time, however, she was not merely dreaming with the pipe. She aimed to begin work on something more pivotal. Holding her peace, over them, as though the Time Wraiths had not, in fact, been led by her to keep a different mindset, themselves, she kept them aware, of the part of her mind they were let in by.
A part, they would not be able to share. When inhaling, she did so with a strickening wind, through sympathetic diacords and resonance fields, and from a region locked onto by the Time Wraiths collective awareness. The NicNeven (we presume, remaining silent somewhere at the top of an, "imaginary," but quite irregal, circuit of Heaven, and with her pipe), had her whole lot hidden safely away, and blessed unseen.
She, "wind-let," her chosen remote area, with the pipe, from a distance, as though it were a whip and a scourge, creating yet another (this time stronger), bane.
Her smoke summons, were such that, she hoped to collect and open them, one day, as a portal, to dawn on the World.
As for the pipe vision. This one was well formed. She might have make a centrepiece of it, on table somewhere.
Many of them, rested on glass plates, with glass cases overtop. After their Surveillance Circuit had run, "Ash-Line Data," or, "Pipe Particle Intel," was fed through a Computer on the Ash-Configuracy, Analysis-Observancy Program, of the, 'Night-Watch Circuit', of the, "Time Wraiths"-Network, and for a Number of Reasons...
One, being that the Data, would often be used to reproduce these, "In-Pipe Visions," as, "Viable Product-for-Sale ("Furnishings from the, "Furnace,"" so-to-speak)," and so they needed a Good Record of Analysis kept for Reproduction. "Pipe Reproductions," would be made using more Durable Materials, and Non-Smokable Materials. The Data, would also allow the group to Configure Predictions of Ash-Shift, with a Matrix, once Measurements and Variables were Plugged into an appropriate Coded Program Logarithm, which helped them see, potential Shift Patterns, which may yet arise. The Furnishings, were to be kept as Permanent Pipes... Artefacts, for the Mansion, and Museum, of Swarma.

The Holy Spirit Sword cuts through to the Marrow. This is intended to mean that it is versatile. Only, more to the point, that it is not intended for vice.
How this happens, is that it has verses, in tandem occurrence, operating in relevant reflection, on Scripture, and is designed to heal. That is⊠before having thought of attack or rendering anyone ineffectual.
Wisdom from Jesus, in Scripture, teaches us, that, without Doctrinal relevance, and Revelation, we live on a Dying Planet and cause it.
~ Falling out of our mouths, if I may add. ~ The tongue is a venomous instrument, which apart from destroying, needs to be bridled with Scriptural Truth and or the Gospel, or healing falls away from what we know of vital spirit, sowing, growing, engrafting, and planning.
However picking up on any dead line of âPrayer Chain (for things truly are, by introspection, a righteously bidden, divine godly judgement's in of how to live by a planetary Monodeism and not just by correspondence, but mainly faith in Him),â to help, Christianly, defeat the death of the soul. 'On What Could Have Been'.
An expensive matryoshka was brought in for Ralph to look at...
He received the package at his Estate, and had a hard time with his spectacles, adjusting them trying to read the fine print.
The brown paper parcel, with white sticker, opened to a smaller purple gift box, within it. The gift box was about the size of an order of chow mein, and from within the lilac tissue paper inside, was a golden doll. Andrei, Fu, and Evelyn, had driven back and were now seated around Mr. Dizzmith.
Well, here it is, he stated. No word of who it's from, not to mention that I'm not working anymore.
Is it another antique asked Andrei?
Yes, and well, I think it is, replied the Senior, but the thing is, I don't know how to open it. It's a Matryoshka or Russian Nesting Doll, and this one is rather expensive, but the Middle Circumference of the Doll has a Twistable-Dial Lock, and I've never known that to be the case before.
Would you wager all the others inside it are like that, too? asked Evelyn. I know what Matryoshkas are, but you're right. This one DOES seem a little bedeviled.
Perhaps said Ralph.
Do you think there is anything inside, asked Fu.
It looks a little weighty. Is it a bomb? Asked Evelyn.
Nobody would bomb a man like Mr. Dizzmith, said Andrei, but just to be on the safe side, I'll look it up. Andrei pulled out his Smart Phone.
Most bombs don't have Passcodes, said Fu. Look, the Passcode is right here on the box.
It says the code can be adjusted and is made to be matrilineal.
This is most definitely a finely-crafted specimen then, but how does it work? asked Ralph.
Well, it looks like every Doll has two turnable dials at the vertical middle, which run horizontal and around the circumference. These are adjusted from within, when open, and numerically set with dates for a passcode, before the top and bottom on each doll are latched, that is. Each doll is secured, around and over the former one, which has been latched or fastened, and each, in so doing, has its dials consecutively scrambled from the outside, before putting the next doll on it. The dolls are hollow, and increase in scale, to fit, while the locks operate by Birth Years of mothers, or rather, daughters. If one Mother or Grandmother, leaves a Sum, in her Will, to the, 'Matryoshka Fund', it will Increase in Interest, and if they send an Heirloom in With the Money, once the Company is Informed of the Birth of the Final Child, they will send the Doll to the Final Child, Heirloom within It. The Family History, and Records are Sent too, as the Locks are Set with Birth Years, of Mothers, in Chronological Order or First to Last, and this Prevents the Wrong Families from Accessing the Contents.
If No Contents, are Sent by the Ancestral Will-Bearer, Gifts-in-Shop, may also be Included, upon Initial Order Selection.
The Company/Fund, occasionally Touches Base with the Families, but this is Less Common.
Who is it for? asked Evelyn.
I have no idea, but there's some Weird Vial in it!
What could it be of, though?
Well, Matryoshka's are generally not compartments, made use of, for containing things, but this appears to be a Vial of Oil.
"Oyle," is a rare name for the Saviour, "Jesus Christ," remarked Andrei.
"Oyle ("Middle English," Language)": # 2.4. https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/oyle Maybe an Heiress, then? said Ralph. WHO could she have been?!

2023.06.07 15:16 Relative-Ad8347 YourVerse: a new concept of multipropriety and Real Estate in the metaverse
| https://preview.redd.it/ax90yg0sil4b1.jpg?width=1198&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fece28cda2757d4269191652cca183c7f6658f61 Friends, creators, and explorers â welcome to YourVerse! We are thrilled to share this exciting project with you! In this article, we will guide you through the steps that will give you the best shot at being part of YourVerse! âWhat is YourVerse, and what is meant by the concept of real estate in the metaverse?â Allow us to explain! The phenomenon of owned purchases in the Metaverse The purchase or rental of a property is the first step in being able to carry out any activity in the new digital dimension. Buying a house (and land) in the metaverse is becoming one of the main activities in the new digital dimension, given the possibility of carrying out practically any activity, from simple ones like having a place to be at the start of commercial activities such as shops, sales, and advertising spaces. In 2021, at the peak of real estate transactions in the metaverse, staggering numbers were reached. The prices of land on existing platforms rose by 500%, and the transactions exceeded a total value of 500 million dollars. After an important correction in terms of economic value, which occurred last year, many believe that this is the best time to invest in the real estate sector. Thanks to the large growth rate, the phenomenon will become increasingly well-known. The increase in demand, especially in the most prestigious metaverses, will likely drive prices up. âInvesting in the Metaverse today can be likened to buying a house in the countryside before it develops into a big city.â The metaverse of The Sandbox The metaverse of The Sandbox can be understood as a three-dimensional virtual universe that can be explored through the use of avatars representing real users. Just like in the âanalogâ world, even in the metaverse, it is possible to interact with other characters, travel, buy objects, build, customize, sell, or rent properties in which to live or start commercial activities. Buy a property in the Metaverse Metafutura Srl, an Italian company made up of expert builders, has launched the âYourVerseâ project, which will be a place with real estate properties, events, and exhibition spaces that will facilitate the purchase and sale of owned properties in the metaverse via NFTs. The acquisitions will be signed through Smart Contracts, intelligent contracts that leverage the blockchain to define unmodified and extremely sophisticated transactions, with the deposit of the purchased NFTs in the buyerâs wallet. It is essential to emphasize that in the metaverse, purchases do not take place with traditional currencies. The system is, in fact, linked to the blockchain, and cryptocurrencies are used for buying and selling. https://preview.redd.it/4ly9mbdtil4b1.jpg?width=1195&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d666b1905c7e385907967bca43c1c684d8ef5089 The Metaverse Real Estate Market has entered a vortex of strong growth, and given the potential for the future, therefore it seems to be the propitious moment to invest in the sector. It is important to underline the twofold implication, on the one hand for the user who buys the property, which is realizing an investment that also entails the acquisition of a sort of âshowcaseâ in the metaverse of The Sandbox, as well as to participate in activities of socialization and a series of events that will lead to the expected and unexpected beneficial owners (participation in exclusive events, gifts, airdrops, treasure hunt etc âŠ) On the other, for those who develop an economic activity, they can find a way to generate a profit directly or indirectly, creating events, sales, marketing activities etc⊠YourVerse, a unique proposal 1000 exclusive properties managed with NFT https://preview.redd.it/aw93bbduil4b1.jpg?width=1186&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=11ad4bc8a5373449b12fe7a7807f904669eefadc Zoom of the map of The Sandbox The project is carried out on a 2x2 Land on which a thousand properties managed through NFT arise, divided as follows: · Deluxe apartments · VIP apartments · Robot-apartments · Shops · Megastore · Billboards of different sizes 1000 properties accessible to all. What will be your % of possession in the City? Entry into ownership with NFT. Exclusivity for each owner. Possible customizations for each owner and for large partners. Q) What are ability cards?
Abilities in Red Dead Online are assigned to a character through Ability Cards. These are divided into two different types. Dead Eye cards that grant abilities only active during Dead Eye, while Passive cards add abilities that are always active, no matter what you do. Passive abilities are further divided into several different categories.
In Red Dead Online, it's not possible to assign all of the available abilities to the character, as there are only 4 slots available. One slot is used for a single Dead Eye card, while the remaining three slots are used for Passive abilities. Source.
Q) What are the playing styles online?
Defensive: Players in Defensive mode will be indicated by a shield icon, will take reduced damage from enemy players, cannot be lassoed, melee attacked, executed or targeted with auto-aim. Defensive players will also be excluded from being targeted in PvP-related missions such as Player Assassination. Those who attack Defensive players receive hefty penalties via the Hostility system, while players who initiate conflict while in Defensive mode will be instantly pulled out of Defensive mode and also receive similar Hostility penalties.
Offensive: The Offensive playing style is set as the default and is how most players traditionally interact in Free Roam â free to engage in hostile contact with other players if you are prepared to accept the potential consequences.

Red Dead Online: Roles
Q) Can I have more than 1 role active?
Yes! You can play in all roles concurrently.
Bounty Hunter Role
Q) What is the Bounty Hunter role?
Get started as a Bounty Hunter when you meet the Legendary Bounty Hunter in Rhodes and purchase the Bounty Hunter License. The standard cost is 15 Gold Bars.
Licensed Bounty Hunters can pick up work by visiting bounty boards located near law offices, post offices and train stations across the states. There is no shortage of criminals to be dealt with and the targets range in difficulty, from lone low-level petty thieves to notorious outlaws with armed protection details and a watchful eye. Taking on an armed gang or bringing multiple targets to justice is made easier with the help of a Posse, who will all earn a cut of the final bounty. And keep in mind, bringing in targets alive will yield a greater reward.
Reaching Bounty Hunter Rank 12 will open up the opportunity to take down other players with high bounties of $20 or more. Bounty Hunters will be notified through an invite about the opportunity to hunt down the wanted player when theyâre nearby in a structured pursuit. The wanted player must escape (or surrender) within the allotted time and if captured, theyâll also have opportunities to escape and flee. If the Bounty Hunter brings the target in alive, theyâll receive an award while the criminal serves time.
Q) What are legendary bounties?
Legendary bounties are high-tier bounties, they usually involve a mini-story/cut scene. They're also much tougher than a regular bounty.
There are 10 legendary bounties that can be access as part of the Bounty Hunter role and 3 that can be accessed (when they've all released) by purchasing the Prestigious Bounty Hunter upgrade.
Trader Role
Q) What is the Trader role?
our trusted camp companion, Cripps, has long dreamed of starting a trading outpost and youâre going to help him make it happen - by becoming a partner in the fledgling Cripps Trading Company. Combining Crippsâ lifetime of working with animal materials and your skills at hunting and frontier security, youâll have the perfect ingredients to develop a thriving business.
Once you agree to help Cripps, you can start turning your camp into a business by sourcing items for Cripps to convert into sellable goods. An investment of 15 Gold Bars to purchase a Butcherâs Table will get your business up and running.
Once youâre operational, youâll provide Cripps with Materials through hunting animals â pristine pelts and carcasses will provide better yields. Youâll also take on Resupply Missions to acquire additional necessities through less than savory tactics. Once supplied, Cripps will begin turning the materials into sellable goods, which can then be sent out on low-risk local deliveries for payment or across greater distances for a premium.
Improve your hunting yields with a Hunting Wagon for larger hauls or upgrade your Delivery Wagons for larger sales. As business flourishes and your presence becomes known in the market, your competition may grow jealous of your success, so keep an eye out for raids on your camp. As your trade grows, you might consider purchasing a camp dog from Wilderness Outfitters. Not only are dogs great camp companions for all players, but a Trader of sufficient rank can teach their dog to warn of incoming attacks.
Q) Can I skip the medium wagon?
No, you need to buy the medium wagon, then the large wagon.
Q) What can I sell to Cripps?
You can sell carcasses & small animals (e.g squirrels). Along with some animal parts, e.g feathers.
Cripps does not accept meat, fish or skinned carcasses.
Q) How long does it take Cripps to make goods after resupplying?
Cripps requires materials and supplies to produce goods. You give him materials by donating carcasses and pelts. He uses two units of materials to produce one good. You either buy supplies or obtain them through resupply missions. Either way, that gives enough supplies to produce 25 goods. As long as both materials and supplies are available, Cripps produces 1 good every 2 minutes (1 in-game hour).
Collector Role
Q) What is the Collector role?
Seek out the mysterious travelling saleswoman Madam Nazar to acquire the Collectorâs Bag and get started on the path of the Collector. It will cost 15 Gold Bars for access to collecting and selling rare items.
With Madam Nazarâs help, you will be able to explore the world finding valuable treasures, whether theyâre discarded Tarot cards in abandoned camps, buried treasures unearthed with your trusty shovel, hidden family heirlooms and more.
Collect individual pieces and sell them off directly to Madam Nazar or collect entire sets for even more valuable sales. As you progress, youâll unlock enhanced searching skills; more useful tools like a metal detector; benefits like increased carrying capacities; the ability for your horse to directly pluck and pass herbs to you while mounted, and more.
Q) Where is Madam Nazar?
Madam Nazar can be located by completing a map/collection for her. Her location is posted daily on /RedDeadDailies - She changes location at 6am UTC time each day.
You can also find her using https://madamnazar.io/
Q) Who is Madam Nazar?
Madam Nazar is the Collector role vendor, you can obtain maps, cosmetics & other items such as the shovel from her.
Q) Why is Madam Nazar?
...
Q) Where do you buy a shovel?
From Madam Nazar, it costs $350. If you need help finding her, check /RedDeadDailies
Q) Where do you buy a metal detector?
From Madam Nazar, it unlocks at level 5 and costs $700. If you need help finding her, check /RedDeadDailies
Q) Can you sell collector items individually or does it need to be a full set?
Yes, however you get far less money than you would if you sold a full collection
Q) Can you only have one collector map active?
Yes, if you try to open a second map, it may auto-close and almost looks like a bug, however, you should only try and activate one at any given time.
Moonshiner Role:
Q) I already met Maggie but I didn't buy a shack, now I can't find how to buy the shack?
In the options menu (left on the D-pad, or L on PC), select "Camp & Properties" â "Moonshine Shack" â "Shack Location".

2023.06.06 19:36 RowBowBooty Someone keeps airdropping me photos of myself.
My nightmare started when I woke up on a park bench in Omaha, Nebraska. My original travel plans were much more adventurous, but most of the vacation fund dried up after the companyâs CFO found me in his carâŠwith his wife. Turns out she wanted to get caught, to make him jealous or something.
That is how, for reasons not totally beyond my control, I ended up summering in Omaha instead of Oahu. But hey, at least they have great fried pickles. I spent most of my time their napping, and that was what brought me to the park bench.
I woke up to a bird on my shoe. He was pecking away at the residual crumbs of what may or may not have been fried pickles.
âHey little guy,â I said, smiling down at my visitor. He wasnât a bird of paradise, but at least he liked me. Then the crumbs ran out, and he didnât like me so much anymore. âFuck you, too!â I shouted as he flew away, off to go play with some other manâs heart no doubt. Just as I was about to settle back in to my midday nap, I felt my phone buzz.
Finally, I thought. Someone to talk to. I was getting sick of just swiping through my home screen pages every time I wanted to look busy, but when I pulled my iPhone out, I found something even more surprisingly than a text from a friend or loved one. It was an airdrop:
ANONYMOUS would like to share some photos.
Decline Accept
I looked around. There were people near me, but most of them werenât young enough to know how to airdrop something, and no one was using their phone. I accepted.
âWhat the hellll?â I let out before a chuckle. The first picture was of me, slumped over on the park bench, sleeping with my mouth open. I was instantly filled with embarrassment and wonder. On the one hand, itâs pretty depressing to see yourself sleeping in an unflattering position and I had a triple chin thing going in the photo. On the other hand, I couldnât deny that it was pretty funny.
I looked up, hoping to catch someone giggling or at least staring in my direction, but I couldnât see anyone who gave the slightest indication that it was them. In fact, by the time I looked up, I was alone.
Weird.
The second picture wasnât funny at all. It was all black, with a bunch of characters in what looked like Mandarin or some other Eastern language drawn on with the digital marker. A message from the sender. But I couldnât read whatever language it was, and I didnât know how I would go about translating it, seeing as I couldnât just copy and paste the text, so I chose to just ignore the message, telling myself I would go to the trouble of translating it later. God, do I wish I wasnât such a procrastinator.
The sun was setting so I stood up, took one last glance around for any hidden airdroppers, and walked back to my motel.
Later that night, I found myself hopelessly scrolling through Tinder. I realized long ago that dating apps can tell you a lot about the place youâre visiting, and I considered it part of my cultural experience to judge strangers behind a screen in my pajamas. Mostly I would just swipe my way through and laugh at the weird corn people without even considering a meet up, but every once in a while I would swipe right if I felt something. I never imagined that I would get anywhere.
Then I got another notification, and this time from someone I actually wanted to talk to. It was a girl (who looked waay out of my league) named Cristina.
âHey, Greg. If you were on a lifeboat with me, Dwayne âThe Rockâ Johnson and the Queen (who was already dead at this point), who would you eat first?â I stared at her message. It was kind of quirky, but I liked it so I texted back.
âObviously you, because I need the Rock to do all the rowing, the Queen is dead, and youâre quite the snackâŠâ I smiled, proud of my work. The CFOâs wife didnât know what she walked out on. Luckily, Cristina liked my reply as much as I did, and we struck up a nice conversation that had me copying the address to a local karaoke bar into my phone an hour later. It was only then that I began to regret my choice in vacation attire, and noticed that the bird had shat on my loafers. I ironed the only Polo I brought, threw on my sneakers and sped out.
On the way I stopped to fill up at a Chevron and went in to grab some mints (I thought about buying some banana sleeves, but that seemed a little too boastful.) When I went to pay, I dropped some change out of my wallet. Shit. The cashier, some kind of wannabe cowboy like everyone else in that city, smirked. I took a penny from the little plastic dish out of spite before leaving the store. While I was in my car, my phone buzzed. I snatched it up with excitement, assuming it was Cristina, but saw a different yet familiar name.
ANONYMOUS would like to share a photo.
Decline Accept
What the fuck? I looked around at the cars in the lot. Two others were filling up, and about four more were parked in front of the convenience store. I wondered whether someone inside the store would still be close enough to airdrop. Cautiously, I accepted.
The photo was of me bending over to pick up the change I had spilt, taken from the parking lot. I stared at it for a little while. It was funny and embarrassing just like the first one, my butt crack was even showing a little, but for some reason this photo made me uneasy. Is someone following me? I wondered. Had some influencer punk started a one-man hidden camera show where he just waited for you to do something embarrassing? I stared at the other cars.. Some of the windows were too tinted to see in. After a minute or two, I rolled out of there and drove off.
At the bar, I was relieved and elated to find that Cristina looked as good, nay, better than she did in her photos. âWow,â I stuttered. âYouâre beautiful.â She also said the same about me, which I chalked up to having ironed the polo. Things were off to a good start.
Throughout the date, Cristina was bubbly and adorable. She told me all about her life in rural Nebraska and what brought her to the âbig cityâ, but I couldnât pay attention to any of it. I really wish I could have, but I just couldnât get those damn airdropped photos out of my head.
Cristina left to go to the bathroom, and I took the opportunity to look around the bar, scanning the room for any familiar faces. Everyone looked engrossed in their own evenings and dates and cringy singing, but I couldnât shake the feeling that I was being watched.
âHey, your profile says you really like to sing,â Cristina began with a smile. That was a fast bathroom break. âBut you never said what type of music!â I stared at her, still a bit lost in thought, and it took a couple seconds to register what she was saying.
âOh, well I like simple boring things, really. Commercial jingles, recycling PSAâs, communist propaganda, that kind of stuff.â Cristina smiled.
âYouâreâŠyouâre not a communist, right?â
âOf course not!â I laughed. âLetâs go sing something,â I got up from our table and offered her my hand.
âGood, because my parents always said that if I moved to the big city Iâd end up marrying a commie, and I hate to prove them right about anything.â She giggled.
âHey, baby, Iâm so capitalist I changed my birthplace to the Cayman islands.â Cristina giggled even more. Damn were we getting along well. I got up onto the little square stage they had for karaoke singers and looked out at the crowd. Then I got a notification. You can probably already guess how it read.
ANONYMOUS would like to share a photo.
Decline Accept
I looked out across the room, dumb founded that ANONYMOUS had followed me here. I thought about showing Cristina but decided it would just worry her, and, even worse, prove her parents were right about the âbig cityâ. I accepted the photo and startled backwards. My phone nearly fell to the floor. It was a photo of me at the bar, but not up on stage where it would have been easy for anyone to sneak a photo. It was from before, at our table, when I had turned to check out the other people. The worst part was that I was looking right at the mutherfucking camera!
My hand trembled. I tried to calm down. For some reason I didnât want whoever sent the photo to know I was nervous. And I did NOT want Cristina to think that I was scared to sing Ring of Fire in front of a couple dozen famer hicks. But it was obvious from this picture that the photos werenât just to be funny. This time, I wasnât making any faces and my ass wasnât showing. My face in the photo was one of concern.
How did I look right at the camera without realizing it? It struck me that the person sending these photos was going to extra lengths to remain hidden, maybe even as far as to camouflage themselves. They could be anyone, anywhere, with any sort of goal in mind. I shuttered.
The music started up and Cristina began to sing. I whipped around and looked at her. She was smiling, oblivious to the whole thing. And she looked happy. I didnât want to spoil this moment, which was probably the only truly fun one of my vacation and the first time in a while that I was feeling some self-confidence. I began interchanging lines with her.
âI went down, down, down and the flames went higher.â I baritoned into the mic. She winked at me. I made it through the song and asked her to get the hell out of there, to which she excitedly said yes.
On the way back to my place, I thought about telling her about the photos but didnât want to kill the mood. Still, I couldnât help but look through the windows of every car that we passed.
I checked the rear view mirror for the umpteenth time, and a blue pickup truck was tailing close behind us. I made a right turn, then another, and the truck stayed close behind. After a while I made two more right turns and the headlights disappeared from my rearview mirror. Phew.
âWhat are you doing?â Cristina asked.
âHuh?â
âYou just made four right turns. You went in a circle.â
âOh, yeah haha. I was hoping you wouldnât notice, I wanted to be smooth. Just made a wrong turn back there.â Cristina nodded and reached out for my hand. I checked the rearview mirror. More headlights. Another pickup.
When we rolled into the parking lot of the motel, the truck behind us continued down the road, and I noticed it was red. I felt relieved until I pulled into my parking spot and hopped out of the car. Behind us to the right, the same blue truck from before was parked. Shit, he must have taken a quicker way over here.
How did he know where I was staying?
I put my arm over Cristinaâs shoulder and rushed her into my room.
After the deed was done, Cristina promptly fell asleep (which I hoped was the sign of a job well done) and I decided to go for a walk in the parking lot. I wanted to figure out what the fuck was going on, but I didnât want to call the police before there were any real threats or anything.
So, like every dumbass horror film victim, I went alone into the dark to investigate. I stepped out into the dark motel parking lot and eyed the truck sitting across the lot. Its headlights and grill formed an angry face that stared at me. I felt like it could read my thoughts. Leave, it said to me. Get out of here, youâll only get into trouble. The headlight eyes bore into my brain. Donât be dumb and you wonât get hurt-
A loud BANG came from behind me. I spun around to see a dark figure turn the corner and disappear around the back of the motel. My heart started to pound, urging me to move my legs in either a flight or fight direction.
I sprinted off towards the figure, and in moments I was turning the corner. Behind the motel, there were only tall thin trees and a formidable darkness that shielded whatever had run away from me. I paused, searching through the trees for my stalker. I squinted but couldnât quite make anything out in the dark.
Then I heard something. Behind me. Something was...coughing.
Slowly, with my eyes first, I turned around and what I saw made my heart flutter. The sounds were coming from a dumpster, the kind usually left behind restaurants or apartment complexes that can only be moved by big semi garbage trucks. From within the dark dumpster, the head of a terrible beast with a black mask rose up. Its mouth, full of razor sharp, enamel covered fangs, clamped down onto a chicken bone with a hiss. It was a raccoon.
I laughed. There was so much pent up adrenaline in my body that I couldnât help but convulse with the giggles. Soon tears were spilling out of my eyes and I had to lean on my knees to keep from passing out.
âYou scared the shit out of me,â I told the raccoon, and it scampered off into the shadows. I remained there until my laughter subsided, and when it was gone I decided to stay a little while longer. It was a beautiful spot. Nebraska wasnât that bad when you got to know it.
After a few more minutes spent collecting my thoughts and calming my nerves, I went back around the bend of my motel. I strode with new confidence towards my room, but still couldnât resist looking over my shoulder at the blue truck in the parking lot. Is there someone in the driverâs seat? I didnât want to be paranoid, but there was no way to deny that I felt like eyes were burning into my back. I walked more quickly until I reached my door, unlocked it and slipped inside.
Acting quickly, I shut the door behind me and put in the chain lock. I felt safer in my room. That is, until I lied back down onto the bed next to Cristina.
The instant my sweaty ass made contact with the crusty bed sheets, I got a notification. A lump formed in my throat and I grabbed my phone, but paused and said a silent prayer that it would just be a message of support from my mom, or a campaign donation request, or any other useless shit besides an airdrop before checking it. But I knew what it was, and looking at the screen only confirmed it.

I gasped for oxygen. The humid air around me suddenly felt too thick to breath. I accepted the air drop and the video downloaded. It showed the door of my motel room. As I stared at the still frame, a new sense of anger rose up within me. Who the fuck was this Anonymous guy, anyway? Did he think he was scaring me? I mean, was he hoping that after seeing a few photos of myself I would send him my bank information? It was pathetic. I decided that I had done enough cowering and whimpering. I didnât even play the video, but went to frantically jotting down a strongly worded letter in my Notes app threatening to call the police if he didnât stop stalking me and at least tell me what he wanted. I signed off by writing;
Wishing you the best,
Pissed off Guy
I took a screenshot. âPissed off guyâ wasnât my best work, creatively speaking, but I couldnât think of any better names. I was too pissed off.
I opened the airdrop recipients in the vicinity. Despite my newfound courage, I trembled as the airdrop recipients in my area registered on my phone. For some reason, I was afraid that ANONYMOUS would pop up. Proving he was at the motel would make the situation feel moreâŠreal. Up until that point, all he had done was send me some pictures. If I sent something back to him, would he get moreâŠaggressive?
I stared at the screen, my heart beating faster than a Browning automatic could shoot hollow-point bullets into a cheap motel room. One named appeared: ANONYMOUSâs iPhone. I swallowed a heavy breath. Was the air getting thicker? Slugs of sweat rolled down my face. I exhaled and sent my note to ANONYMOUS.
Shit, I thought to myself. What am I doing? I wanted to unsend it. For some reason this suddenly felt like the dumbest thing Iâd ever done. I watched my screen intently. The tension was so high my heart almost sprung a leak, and I was afraid my bladder just might. Thankfully, it didnât take very long to get a response.
ANONYMOUS would like to share some photos.
Decline Accept
I hit âacceptâ the instant I got his request.
It was a collection of photos. All the same photos he had sent me before. My blood boiled, and my face heated up. I work up the courage to talk to him and he just ignores me? I was starting to grow less concerned and more irritated by Anonymousâs antics, but then I noticed something.
The first picture of the most recent airdrop, the one where Iâm asleep on a park bench and sporting a triple chin, had a red circle on it. The kind that you draw on a picture when you want to draw attention to something, except there didnât seem to be anything particular inside the circle. I zoomed in, and my heart dropped into my stomach. Far off in the background, in the middle of the circle, was a manâs face hidden between the bushes.
He was wearing a dark hoodie that cast a shadow over his face, but zoomed in I could make out the details. He was bald, and most of his features were normal and indistinct, but his lips were curled up into an enormous hungry smile, with too many crooked yellow teeth crammed into his mouth for him to be a normal human.
His nostrils were flared, like he was breathing heavily. It gave the impression that he was almost lusting after me, like a beast stalking its prey. My blood pressure fell through the floor as I realized that he was looking straight at me. His ravenous chops wet with saliva, itching to sink his teeth into my plump, dormant flesh.
I nervously swiped to the next photo. Me in the gas station bending over to pick up my change. There was a red circle around someone standing a few yards behind me in line. It was the same man. He stared at me intently with eyes that were opened impossibly wide, and drool dripping from the corner of his mouth.
I nearly threw my phone in shock. He had been so close to me, and yet I didnât remember seeing him. If you werenât paying close attention, it would be easy to miss his inhuman features. I had probably been too distracted and embarrassment at having dropped my change on the floor to notice him. Damn my social anxiety.
The next photo was from the karaoke bar, the one where I was looking directly into the camera. Seeing me stare directly at the photographer without recognizing him or her made me queasy the first time I saw it, but now I was more worried about what was in the background. There was another red circle, in the dark hallway that led to the bathroom behind the bar to the left, but it was too dark to see anything in the shadows. I zoomed in and turned the brightness all the way up, and then I could just make out one thing.
A crooked, yellowed smile pointed in my direction.
Whoever or whatever he was, he had followed me for the whole day.
The last photo was all black except for something Anonymous had written, also in red. It said:
I AM NOT STALKER.
Goosebumps popped up behind my neck and down my shoulders. Thatâs when I remembered the video of me walking back to the motel room, the one I hadnât watched.
With shaky fingers I opened the video. It was centered on the door of my motel room. For the first few seconds nothing happened. I thoroughly scanned the backgrounds and corners, making sure to search extra hard in the shadowy areas, but I couldnât see the man anywhere.
Then he walked into center frame. This time he wasnât hidden. He crept towards the door, his arms remaining eerily immobile as he walked, and when he got to the door, pulled a key card out and slipped inside. I gasped. When was this recorded?
That question was answered for me when a moment later I walked into frame, unlocked the door, and went in. It was from when I came back after finding the raccoon in the dumpster, less than two minutes ago.
I shivered. Suddenly, it was dawning on me that Cristinaâs breathing soundedâŠdifferent. It was just a little heavier and deeper than I remembered it being. Very slowly, I turned my head to look over at the other side of the bed and noticed that the lump under the covers seemed larger than it had before. I felt the air; it was thicker and wetter than I remembered it being and had a warm, almost metallic smell.
The body lying next to me wasnât Cristinaâs. I froze. What do I do? Dear God, what should I do now? Slowly, I sat up and pulled my legs over the side of the bed. I thought about turning the lights on, shouting for Cristina, trying to fight the stalker, but I had the gut feeling that she was beyond saving. Even if she was still alive, there was no way I could last more than a few seconds against this thing in bed with me. Whatever it was, it was built for hunting down humans and tearing them apart.
I casually mumbled âbetter take a showerâ and crept over to the hall. Luckily the bathroom was right next to the front door.
Once I got in front of the bathroom door, I silently lunged for the front door, turned the lock as quietly as I could and tried to open it without making a sound. CLANG.
I stared in horror at the chain lock I had set when I came in. Idiot! I heard a rustle from the bed. The time for stealth was gone.
I yanked the chain out and swung the door open. In less than a second I was outside closing the door behind me and then bounding towards my car. I turned it on and peeled out without even checking to see whether my visitor had followed me.
I sped away from the motel towards the city and dialed 911.
At the police station, I waited for the cops to check out my room. When they came back, they asked to talk with me. I was led into the interrogation room, and they started to hit me with some accusatory questions. They said her body was ripped into pieces and strewn across the room, everywhere except the bed. Imagining myself in that room, totally oblivious to Cristinaâs organs and tissue around me made me sick.
It soon became obvious that the police believed I killed her. I tried to convince them that there was someone else in my room, and told them there was video proof on my phone. I showed them the video that ANONYMOUS had sent me. They were intrigued, but still skeptical.
I was starting to get nervous that I wouldnât return from my lame ass vacation for 10-30 years when something amazing happened.
Still in the officerâs hand, my phone got a notification.
ANONYMOUS would like to share a video.

âThatâs him, thatâs the guy whoâs been airdropping me stuff!â I said frantically. The officer raised an eyebrow. He hesitated, looked around, and after an agonizing pause accepted the video. They hid the screen from my face, but from his expression I could tell the video was something violent. All I could hear was an animal-like growl, heavy panting and a guttural human yell.
It wasnât until after being cleared to leave and given my phone back that I watched the video. ANONYMOUS had filmed me leaving the parking lot of the motel, and then gone into the room and turned the lights on. The âthingâ was standing in the middle of the room, only a few feet from the camera. It stared at the camera and gave it a slow wave. Its slender fingers seemed to pulse with excitement, and the creature wiggled them elatedly. It smiled and its lips peeled back to reveal blood soaked teeth.
The room was covered in blood and body parts. There were intestines hanging off the lamp, what looked like a half-eaten liver soaking the office chair, teeth laid on the t.v. stand close enough to the camera to see that they were neat and white. I pictured him sucking them clean like cherry pits.
The most disturbing part of all was a big piece of skin that had been ripped off like a sheet and laid on the bed post by my side of the bed. In the middle of the skin was what looked like a belly button. I had been lying with my head right underneath Cristinaâs drying stomach leather and never had a clue.
After the camera panned around the room, it focused back on the man. He stood there for a moment, his chest rising and falling rapidly, eyes wide and hungry. Then he took a lighting quick stride forward, and the camera turned toward the door. That is where the video ends. Watching it made me fear for ANONYMOUSâs safety, but I knew that he at least made it out healthy enough to make it to the police station.
Sometimes, when Iâm alone and get the feeling Iâm being watched, I open my airdrop options to see if ANONYMOUS is somewhere near me. I havenât ever found him.
Earlier this morning while on the subway, I looked up and had a heart stopping shock. I was sitting at the end of one car and just happened to look through the window into the car behind us. There he was; the same creature that killed Cristina. The doors were still open and I almost took off running but⊠he wasnât looking at me.
He was staring intently and smiling at a woman on the opposite row. Every few seconds he would lick his lips hungrily. I shuddered looking at his teeth because I couldnât help but imagine them cutting into Cristinaâs flesh, piercing through her skull and ripping her teeth out of their gums down to the root.
His prey had headphones in and was flipping through a magazine, totally oblivious to the terrible monster sitting just a few yards away from her. I took a picture through the foggy glass.
You canât see the creature very well in the photo. But I can always circle him. Maybe sheâll have to zoom in, and she just might need to turn her brightness up all the way, but Iâll make sure she gets the message. I have no idea how to get the photo to her without drawing the attention of the creature, but Iâll figure it out. Weâll both figure it out. Wish us luck.

2023.06.06 14:02 Vegetable_Wear8016 Short Story - A tale that will give you an adrenaline rush
Hello ladies, this week my fictional story will leave you feeling cautious the next time you eat at a Chinese restaurant :)
The Fortune Cookie
Samuel was exhausted, it was nearly 10 p.m. and he was leaving his office. He was starving, he just wanted to eat and hit the bed. âWhat a terrible day!â he was muttering to himself as he got into his old beat-up Renault Kwid. He had seen a Chinese restaurant nearby that opened recently and he decided trying it now would be the best option.
It was a small inexpensive-looking restaurant for quick meals. It had simple decor with traditional Chinese paintings and some random symbols of dragons splattered here and there. One bored receptionist cum cashier and only 1 waiter. It was not a place you would come to on a date.
He gave his order and started scrolling through his phone. He saw some updates of his friend travelling to Dubai for work, one of them getting married in a fancy resort in Rajasthan and one of them was working at Google and felt the need to constantly put #googleknowsbest in all his posts.
The real estate business in India was hard, there isnât any strategy or marketing that can make you successful, it was entirely dependent on your network and getting lucky with the right client at the right time. The respect for agents was abysmal since it was not considered an elite profession and the commissions were shared between multiple parties.
You could hire a celebrity for the promotion of a project to bring in the masses but when it came down to the client writing a cheque for that booking amount, it had nothing to do with the celebrity. Those gimmicks were just enough to get them off their laptops and visit the property.
He had to constantly ensure he was at networking events or getting in touch with the businessmen of the city to source the right inventory to sell. His company was working on a budget villa project which was taking time to sell because of the location being close to a graveyard. Not many families wanted to stay close to a burial ground despite the villaâs appeal.
It was such a beautiful villa, the amenities, the location and the price, every aspect was attractive. âMaybe someday when I can afford itâ he thought to himself. He finished his meal and waited for the bill. He was served a fortune cookie with the bill, âOh itâs been a long time since I have gone to a restaurant that still serves theseâ he said to the waiter. He opened the cookie and the message read âDonât underestimate your ideasâ. âThatâs funny, I just had an argument with my manager about an idea I had which he didnât likeâ Samuel thought, he shrugged it off and paid the bill.
The next day at work, Samuel was in the cab with his Marketing Head going to a meeting regarding a residential project in the city. They were in the middle of random banter when he decided to casually mention his idea that his boss had rejected. âThatâs not a bad idea at all, I think we should bring this up at todayâs meeting and ask the client for their opinion,â the Marketing Head said to him. By the end of the day, Samuel was a happy man, the marketing guys for the residential project approved it and his Marketing Head gave Samuel all the credit for it in front of his boss.
A month later, it was a late night again for Samuel, he decided to hit the Chinese restaurant for dinner again. This time he was conversing with his old college friend Meera, he had recently reconnected with her over Instagram. He was about to pay the bill when he realised he had never eaten the cookie. He opened it and it read âConfess your love, itâs worth itâ, â Maybe I willâ Samuel said aloud.
Later that night, he asked Meera out for a movie half expecting her to say that it was too soon to go on a date. The stars were aligned and she said yes. Their date turned into many dates.
One weekend, he told his best friend about the fortune cookies and that they were lucky for him. âAre you trying to say these cookies can predict your future?â âNo, Iâm just saying the messages have been right twice and I donât want to lose outâ. Just to humour Samuel, his best friend agreed to dine at the restaurant.
The meal was over and they were ready to open the cookies. Samuel read âSomething dangerous lies in your path, stay cautiousâ and his best friend read âAvoid the upcoming journeyâ. âWhatâs that supposed to mean?!â his best friend asked him looking annoyed. âI donât know, maybe thereâs some journey you are going to go on and you shouldnât go?â Samuel responded. âI have journeys every weekend so this doesnât make any sense!â his best friend exclaimed. His best friendâs parents lived 3 hours from the city and he used to visit them every other weekend. His best friend declared that this was a stupid activity and they agreed to disagree ultimately.
Samuel checked his entire house for any loose wiring, fire hazards, toxic chemicals, gas leaks, etc he couldnât find anything. He even checked his car and his desk at the office, but nothing! Maybe this was a coincidence and he was taking this too seriously. It was a fortune cookie for Godâs sake! Itâs supposed to be for fun. He let the incident go and forgot all about it in the next few weeks.
A month later, his Goa trip planning was in full swing. Any Indian would know how the Goa plan works. You plan for months with your friends and right before the trip, the dominoes start to fall. Samuelâs manager declined his request for the leaves due to a promo event that was happening at the same time where they had roped in a huge celebrity to pretend like he loved the villa. âItâs Pratap Kapoor weâre talking about Samuel, this is no small guy,â his boss said. âPratap has a 20,000 sq ft villa with a bonsai garden imported from Japan, heâs not relatable when it comes to endorsing a budget homeâ Samuel protested. âThat may be true but he has a huge social media following and the fact that he may potentially own one of the villas will give customers the message that the graveyard is not an important factorâ his boss stated ending the discussion. Samuel had lost the argument and the Goa trip.
He loaned his friends his car to carry on with their trip. They offered to cancel it but he insisted that they go, he didnât want to ruin it. Besides, it was a good time to take Meera to one of those Korean restaurants she had been obsessing about.
It was when he was in the middle of eating his Bibimbap that he received the call. His friends had been in an accident on the way back home. A drunk driver rammed into them, fortunately they were not seriously injured but the car took most of the damage. âWe were really lucky that the drunk guy had an equally beat-up car as yoursâ his best friend explained to him, Samuelâs thoughts drifted towards the message his cookie had revealed to him. This is what it was warning him from.
Over the next 5 years, it became a ritual for Samuel. He would eat at the restaurant before any big decision he had to make or if there was any big event coming up. Samuel moved to a different real estate agency which offered him a senior position, with time his commissions became better, he bought a better car, married Meera and he bought the villa near the graveyard.
âI already told you, I am not coming on that trip with your parents Meera,â he told his wife. âJust because the cookie said so?!â she asked. âYes, the message said to exercise caution on your next endeavour and I went there just after we discussed the trip, Iâm sorry but I cannot go, this is my process and you know it,â he said firmly. âYou are letting these cryptic messages get the better of your logical self, it was fun in the beginning but itâs been 5 years now and you can start making your own decisions,â Meera told him, unable to believe her husband relied on luck from a cookie. âNo, I trust the process and I would like to stick to it,â he said. Their fight escalated and it resulted in him staying home alone.
When Meera was away, he received a call from an unlikely source. The secretary to a local politician, politician wanted to sell his massive farmhouse on the outskirts of the city to settle some debts that occurred from his political rally. The politician had a bad reputation for solving everything with cash or brute force. But, this was a big deal, if he said no to the politician then another agent would do it and profit off it since word travelled fast in his circle.
âYou can inform his assistant that we cannot take this upâ. âHe lost the election and his boys got into a fight as well that the media picked up so I think heâs bad news. Our agency has a certain reputation so we cannot be involved with certain types of individualsâ Samuelâs CEO told him. Despite Samuel persuading him with the value of the property, the CEO refused and the matter was dropped.
Samuel decided that it was time to start doing things independently. He took on the sale of the property independently and asked the secretary to keep it discreet. He stood to make a huge commission on this, this could mean quitting his job and starting on his own so why give up the opportunity? Destiny had come knocking on his door, he couldnât just ask her to leave.
He went to the restaurant to get a feel of his decision. While waiting for the food he called his wife to find out if she reached home safe, âSo nothing weird happened during the trip?â he asked. âNope, your fortune cookie was wrong this time. Everything went smoothly, you should have come. My parents didnât believe you were sick, they think somethingâs going on with usâ she told him. âYeah, maybe I should have come,â he said relieved that the message didnât come true. âDonât forget to get the Kung Pao chicken and no cookie for me please?â she said ending the call. Samuel mulled over what had happened. Was it that the magic was over? For 5 years the messages had been right but not this time. Meera was back and safe.
At home, when he opened the cookie, it read âItâs not too late to back outâ. Samuel was annoyed, this was a big deal where he stood a chance to grow his network and quit his stressful job. He went to bed and let the thought stir in his mind.
The commission he was offered was the highest he had ever been offered. Several agencies and agents were working on this property but he had the network of people who would need such a massive area, he could crack it. The decision had been made.
Over the next few months, Samuel intentionally lost a few deals so that he could dedicate extra time to the farmhouse. Fortunately, nobody suspected anything at his firm and he getting close. Finally, after 6 months of effort and negotiation, it was sold to a construction company, they were going to build a resort.
Later that year, Samuel was a richer, happier man. He was out in the world trying to be an entrepreneur when he received a call that ruined everything. The construction firm had filed a case against everyone in the land dealing stating that it was a fraudulent deal. They discovered a body in the premises hidden underground and it just happened that the exact spot was being dug up for a swimming pool. This was bad marketing for the resort. Who would bring their families to a place with a reputation for murder? The construction was stopped when the police intervened to do a complete investigation and the legal proceedings began.
Samuel started losing hair and sleep over the drastic change of events in his life. His entrepreneurship journey was falling apart and Meera and his relationship was on a steady decline. He didnât know how to control it, he was trying to make things work both professionally and personally. Over the next few months, he tried yoga, went to church more often and travelled but, it was not enough to solve his problems. He realised the cookie had been right all along but he had gone against it. That was when he decided it was time to go back to the restaurant to get some advice. He was desperate.
He finished his meal when the waiter told him the news. âSir, weâre shutting down this week, they sold the place to a McDonaldâs franchise,â the waiter said looking ready to move on. âSold it?! Why do you need a McDonaldâs here when thereâs a burger place 2 streets away?!â Samuel questioned reeling from the shock. âSir, I don't know these things, Iâm going to apply for a job when it becomes McDonald's. You have been coming here for a long time so I thought you should know that weâre closingâ the waiter said clearing the table.
That was it, his final cookie in this place. He was mentally asking for it to give him some good advice on what to do next. The cookie read âDarkness awaitsâ

History of the Milwaukee Outfit
-Al Capone was a camorrista and an associate of Masseria and Capone had a large scale gambling and bootlegging operation
-Joe Aiello would gamble at Capone's places, but when he would lose, he would have the gambling operation raided and Aiello's men would take much more money than was lost
-Capone was paying protection to Masseria
-A dispute arose between Masseria and Aiello and Masseria than brought Capone in and made him a capodecina and told Capone to kill Aiello
-In 1926 or 1927, there was a "Appalachian type meeting" (Generale assemblea?) in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. The meetings purpose was to make peace in Chicago, but other families attended
-Tough Tony Capesio was one of the shooters in the St. Valentine's day massacre
-Jack Zutta, a Jewish Aiello associate, was murdered by Capone's gang
-The Milwaukee mafia banned people from helping Aiello.
-Sam Aiello, Joe Caminiti, and Migele Mineo were former Aiello members who fled Chicago to join the Milwaukee family
-Sam Aiello wasn't sympathetic about his brother. Sam returned to Chicago later and was in Jim DiGeorge's crew
-Carl Caputa left Chicago and went to Madison where he became boss. Joe "Joe Pizza Pie" Aiello (unspecified relation to the Joe Capone wared with) went with Caputa to Madison
-Milwaukee didn't try to extort any gamblers until Sam Ferrara
-Al Capone was Neopolitan, the next boss was Tony Accardo who was "Thelast Sicilian to be an important boss," Accardo was succeeded by a Neopolotan Sam Giancana (Pretty sure this info is wrong)
-Chicago outfit was a "Money grabbing operation" where only a few leaders profit "at the expense of the general membership" this had an effect on Milwaukee
-Chicago took over Milwaukee in 1952
-Sam Ferrara wanted to have a piece of the Ogden social club which was a gambling place that Frank Balistrieri had a piece on and Balistieri was Son-In-Law to John Alioto. Balistrieri said no to Ferrara and then Ferrara shelved Balistrieri. Milwaukee then asked Chicago to help them with all the trouble.
-A general meeting was held in 1952; Tony Accardo, Rocco Fischetti, and Sam Giancana attended. Sam Ferrara was taken down as boss and replaced by John Alioto
-Alioto reinstated Balistrieri and made him a capodecina
-While Alioto was boss, no gamblers or businessmen were extorted
-John DiTrapani was a capodecina who didn't like Alioto, so he said he would spend $90,000 and even was willing to finance some murders
-One of DiTrapani's friends "Pasternak" lost a lot of money gambling with the outfit and DiTrapani made it known he was very upset
-Furthermore, Alioto heard about Ditrapani's plans to become boss and this sealed DiTrapani's fate
-Chicago were the ones who ordered DiTrapani's murder, not Alioto
-DiTrapani and Frank LaGalbo (a member and DiTrapani associate) were called to a meeting by the Chicago outfit. The meeting was going to be in Milwaukee though.
-LaGalbo warned DiTrapani not to go. LaGabo himself wasn't going to go.
-DiTrapani went anyway and on March 16, 1954 he was murdered. the following day he was found shot in his car
-LaGalbo was very well connected to Chicago and he set up a transfer where he would be in the Chicago family in the decina of Frank LaPorte
-LaPorte was centered in Chicago Heights
-Jack Enea was also apart of the faction that wanted Alioto taken down as boss. he wasn't killed until November, 1954 (Chicago authorized it)
-In January of 1962, Joe Alioto retired and Frank P. Balistrieri took over, Alioto was upset about this. Alioto apparently felt it should've gone to an older man
-furthermore, Alioto was upset that Balistrieri had an affair with his wife's cousin
-Balistrieri began shaking down gamblers and businessmen
-Balistrieri was collecting $500-$600 from Bruno Ramazini and John Volpe who ran the Holiday House
-Despite not collecting from Frank and Jimmy Fazio who ran restaurants, there was an incident where a bomb went off. After this, Balistrieri went to Florida and when he came back he said that they had a piece of Jimmy Fazio's place in Fort Lauderdale
-Balistrieri was not liked by older members because he never consulted with anyone before making decisions and Maniaci even said it would not surprise him if Balistrieri was murdered. Maniaci said if anyone were to kill Balistrieri, it would be the outfit
II. Organization and Leadership -The 1957 Apalachin meeting was due to Albert Anastasia taking forcible action which affected other bosses without telling them.
-Anastasia was killed due to the disappearance of two unnamed men
-John Alioto and Frank Balistrieri were going to go to Apalachin but didnt at the last moment. Also, attendance was not mandatory at Apalachin
-Maniaci didn't know too much about the commission or its structure, but he said it had around 7 members and though he doesn't know if there is a "boss of bosses," if anyone was it would be Giancana (clearly shows his midwest bias)
-Giancana had control over Madison, Rockford, and Springfield
-Balistrieri went to Chicago periodically for meetings with Giancana, Battaglia, or capodecina Felix "Milwaukee Phil" Alderisio. These meeting were at the underboss Sam Battaglia's farm
-occassionally, Balistrieri would meet with Alderisio, Battaglia, and Marshal Caifano in a Milwaukee hotel
-Ralph Capone of Mercer, Wisconsin isn't connected with Milwaukee or Chicago
-At one point, the Pfister hotel manager Marvin Billet made a deal and Kansas City member Sebastian "Buster" Balestrere (who was "imported" to Milwaukee along with Joseph Gurera for the purpose of shaking bookmakers and businessmen down) found out and this led to Balestrere having leverage over Billet. Eventually, the Fox Head Brewery bought a hotel in Jamiaca and Buster made Billet manager. Balistrieri asked Giancana if he wanted to "take over a large gambling casino in the hotel." Billet lost the managorial position and their plan didn't work.
-Balistrieri is involved in the Continental Music Company.
-The chicago outfit may have 500 members (this is wrong as they may not have had 100 at their peak, though it shows how the smaller families saw them)
-Sam Giancana is the boss, Sam "Teets" Battaglia is the underboss, and the following are capodecina: Felix Alderisio, Marshal Caifano, Frank LaPorte, Tony Maccalucci (ph), and Ross Prio
-Ross Prio is a north side leader who was originally in Jim DiGeorge's crew
-Maniaci heard complaints that people are upset in Chicago that only a few are making money. Also, they are upset that Sam Giancana "is too much of a playboy." CI also advised that John Cerone may be Giancana's successor. Cerone is very close to Tony Accardo
-Frank Balistrieri is related to former Kansas City boss James "Big Jim" Balistrieri (It appears his real last name was Balestrere, though his fathers last name was Balistrieri)
-Joseph Cusimano and Joe Jellosa (or Jealouso) are two Kansas City members who have visited Milwaukee in the past
-The Kansas City import Joseph Gurera was said to have killed two politicians (clearly referring to the infamous hit that left Charles Binaggio and Charles Gargotta dead)
-Balistrieri made Gurera a capodecina and Buster Balestrere worked under him. Both members went back to Kansas City in 1963 after pressure was put on Milwaukee for Anthony Biernat's murder
-On April 18, 1964 Peter Balistrieri's (Frank's brother) daughter married Leonard Drewek, a non-Italian. John Molle, Buster Balestrere, and Jim Balestrere (Not made) all went to the wedding
-Peter Balistrieri is a capodecina
-Rockford's boss is Joseph Zummutto, the underboss is Frank Bucemi, and the consigliere is Joseph Zitto. (FNU) Caltegerone is a member who's old and used to be close to Milwaukee capodecina Pasquale Migliaccio. Caltergerone may be a reference to Carl "Charlie Vince" Caltegerone
-Madison, Wisconsin has 10-15 members. The boss is Carl Caputo and Joseph "Joe Pizza Pie" Aiello is a member. Both are wealthy with real estate investments.
-Benny DeSalvo was a capodecina in Madison, but died in February of 1964 at 84 years old. He was buried in Chicago
-The following is the boss succession of Milwaukee: Vito Guardalabene (Nicola Gentile reported Joseph Vallone was the underboss in 1915) Peter Guardalabene (Son of Vito) Joseph "Big Joe" Amato Joseph Vallone (Boss from mid 1920's-mid 1930's) Joseph Gumina was the underboss to Vallone (also says Gumina was capodecina, maybe he controlled a crew along with being consigliere) Charles Zarcone was the consigliere Pasquale Migliaccio was a capodecina Migele Mineo was a capodecina Tom Lucua (ph) was a capodecina Sam Ferrara (Mid 1930's-1952) Joe Gumina was the underboss (again lists him as capo too) Charles Zarcone is listed as consigliere Pasquale Migliaccio was a capodecina Migele Mineo was a capodecina Joseph Caminiti is also a captain (may have been captain under Vallone as well) John Alioto (1952-1962) Joe Gumina was the underboss (again lists him as capo too) Migele Mineo was a capodecina John DiTrapani was a capodecina until his murder in 1954 Pasquale Migliaccio was a capodecina Frank Balistrieri was a capodecina as well Frank Balistrieri (1962-time document was typed) appears he had no underboss Charles Zarcone would be consigliere if Balistrieri had one, Maniaci doesn't know if he actually was though John Alioto was a capodecina and had the older members in his crew Peter Balistrieri was a capodecina "who has active members under his direction" -Older members are displeased with Balistrieri for not consulting any members and making Joseph Gurera (Kansas City) a capodecina instead of a local member
-Older members blame Balistrieri for the publicity LCN is getting due to Anthony Biernat's murder also there's resentment because no one is making money
-Maniaci said he wouldn't be surprised if they killed Balistrieri one day
-On January 4th, 14th, and the 31st Balistrieri held parties at Gallagher's restaurant in an attempt to get the opposite faction to like him. He planned to have another similar meeting a month later. He also assured the members that jobs would soon open up and he gave Vito Aiello, John Aiello, and Maniaci himself jobs at gambling places.
-Balistrieri is very cautious in regards to his personal movements
-Another CI reported the meeting at Gallagher's was to fix the bad feelings between Myron Jennaro and Paul Bogosian who are both associates of the Milwaukee family
-the following is the structure according to Maniaci: capo: boss sottocapo: Italian not Sicilian term for underboss "consuleri": (see previous comment about spelling) the consigliere is the counselor who is usually an older member capodecina: heads a crew, means "head of ten", but members sometimes have 50 members in their crew (or in some cases zero members) No mention of soldiers
-the following are popular terms used by members: Amico Nostro: friend of ours; used by fellow members to indicate someones a member avugad: means lawyer, Maniaci said there's no significance as a term in Milwaukee, but it probably was just not for low level members. Normally the avugad is a representative on the commission. for example, Milwaukee's avugad would've been Chicago's boss cumpare: means godfather; used to show closeness to someone don: Italian term of respect, not a mafia term onorata: means honor, Maniaci said he's never heard the mafia called onorata society which many sources have reported omerta: Maniaci said it's to express any qualities in the word "manly" sagia: "chair, committee of boss, underboss, consuleri [sic], and capodecina [sic] Tourna: general meeting where all members attend; for an important reason
-the following are members of Milwaukee identified by Maniaci: John Aiello: made under Ferrara Vito Aiello: Made under Ferrara John Alioto: Made under Guardalabene, was boss then capodecina Albert Albana: Suspect in Biernat's murder and was made a month after in January 1963 Mike Albano: Runs Angelo's Pizzaria, long time member
III. Membership -John Alioto did not make any members, but Vallone, Ferrara, and Balistrieri did. (which must've happened when the books were closed either suggesting the midwest didn't follow this or he did it on the sly)
-To be made originally, you had to be Sicilian, but they switched it to just be full Italian
-Members don't have to kill, but this has been a rule in the past, to be made
-Associates are proposed by a made member who knows the associates potential. In the past, the name would go around to all members and if they objected, he couldn't be made
-the associate could cooperate with law enforcement to be made
-in the past, all members had to be present at the initiation ceremonies (Maniaci calls them "tourna" meaning a general membership meeting). They no longer do that though
-The Biernat murderers were alleged to be Steve DeSalvo, Dominic Principe, and Albert Albana. DeSalvo contacted Biernat before the killing
-during the making ceremony, both the proposed member and his sponser's fingers are pricked and their blood is mixed. Then everyone present joins hands and a picture of a saint is burned (presumably in the proposed members hand) and the proposed member takes an oath in Italian to put the organization over everything including family and religion
-Members must obey all orders under threat of death
-No members can deal drugs or they will be killed
-Members need permission before engaging in something that may affect another member
-In the past disputes between members were taken before the "Sagia" (This is also called the Seggia, consiglio, or the Sicilian term consignu)
-The "Sagia'' was composed of a boss, underboss, "consuleri", and the capodecina (the term "consuleri" suggests multiple consigliere, but the document has used the singular and plural terms interchangeably. traditionally, the consiglio had multiple consigliere though. Also "capodecina" suggests one captain, which wouldn't really make sense in the context so it can be assumed they mean all capidecina in the family)
-Balistrieri no longer consults anyone except Chicago and only for big issues
-Maniaci named the following as members of the LCN family in Milwaukee (these are just from memory): John Aiello: Made under Ferrara Vito Aiello: Made under Ferrara; John Aiello's brother John Alioto: Made under Vito Guardalabene; capodecina Albert Albana: Made in early 1964, after the murder of Anthony Biernat Mike Albano: Runs Angelo's Pizzaria; long time member Tony Albano: Mike's uncle; retired Frank Balistrieri: boss; made with John DiTrapani; in Joe Ferrara's crew?; Made capodecina under John Alioto Joseph Balistrieri: Frank's dad; longtime member Peter Balistrieri: Frank's brother; capodecina Joseph Caminiti: Secretary treasurer of Local 257; made in Chicago under Joe Aiello; came to Milwaukee during Aiello-Capone war; bootlegger during prohibition; capodeinca under Vallone and Ferrara; Balistrieri's closest confidant even closer to Frank than Peter; Married to John Alioto's daughter Harry DeAngelo: Ferrara didn't like him; made in 1963; works sanitation or garbage department; 55 years old Carl Di Maggio: long time soldier Salvatore DiMaggio: Carlo's son; burglar eith extesnive record; made under Ferrara Benny DeSalvo: Made in 1963; nephew of old Madison boss Benny DeSalvo who died in 1964; lived in New York for a while but moved back to Milwaukee and went into construction Steve DeSalvo: Close to Balistrieri; primary suspect in Biernat murder; made one month after the murder Sam Ferrara: former boss; operates liquor store; inactive Joseph Gumina; underboss and capodecina under Vallone, Ferrara, and Alioto; he was a boxer after coming to America; bootlegger and then worked at A.O. Smith corp.; capable of murder; his son married Ferrara's daughter August Maniaci: Long time soldier Santo Marino: Brother-in-law to Ferrara; not active; operates tevern Migele "Mike" Mineo: Made in chicago; came to Milwaukee during Aiello-Capone war; capodecina under Vallone, Ferrara, and Alioto; employed by Schlitz Brewery John Pernice: former bootlegger; unemployed; not known to hold leadership position Dominic Principe: Another Biernat murder suspect; made following murder; lives in Illinois Joe Rizzo: inactive; worked as bartender in multiple places Vito Seidita: inactive; 55 years old; works for city of Milwaukee, maybe in street department Joseph Spero: inactive; works for city of Milwaukee, maybe in garbage department Charles Zarcone: consigliere during Vallone, Ferrara, and Alioto; may be consigliere under Balistrieri, but Maniaci doesnt know
Maniaci also listed the following as members affiliated with other families that live in Milwaukee: Frank LaGalbo: runs Chico's restaurant; was supposed to be killed along with DiTrapani; transfered to Chicago under Frank LaPorte John DiBella: member from Italy; close to Joe Bonanno; head of Grande Cheese Company Ralph "bottles" Capone: Chicago member; no importance in the underworld James DiGeorge: operates stock farm; owns land in Adams county, Wisconsin; former capodecina of North Chicago; years ago he was supposed to be killed, but got a pass; lives in exile in Wisconsin (likely shelved)
-Maniaci said that even your immidiate family may not know your made and it's typical for people to keep their sons out of the mafia
Maniaci named the following as people not members of Milwaukee, but closely associated with Milwaukee: Walter "Walter Blackie" Brocca: worked forvarious businesses on behalf of Frank Balistrieri Tony Bruno: No member of Bruno's family has ever been a member Sam Cefalu: gambler; lives at 1606 North Jackson; employed by Balistrieri Sam Cefalu: lives at 3461 North Cramer; not related to the other Sam Cefalu; worked for Balistrieri in a gambling office Anthony "Sheriff Cefalu" Cefalu: Brother of Sam (doesnt say which one); employed as gambler Gus Chiaverotti: Working for Frank Balistrieri in Continental Music Co.; closely associates with Balistrieri Sam DaQuista: No other DaQuista family member has been connected Joe Dentice: No Dentice has been a member Dominic Frinzi: Lawyer for Milwaukee mafia Nick Fugarino: closely associates with LCN Ted Gagliano: Gambler Nick Gentile (Doesnt specify if its Nicola Gentile, the one who wrote a book): not a member, but associates with LCN Joseph Guarniere: not a member Dr. Vito Guardalabene: Son of former boss Pete; no living Guardalabene is a member of mafia Danny Lampone: No Lampones are made Tony LaRosa: associated with LCN, not member Sam Librizzi: Gambling LCN associate Tony and Tom Machi: gamblers John Mandella: not a member Vincent Mercurio: not a member John Percurio: creditor to Frank Balistrieri who he's related to Tom Piscitello: not a member John and Joe Piscuine: Gamblers; no Piscuine's have been members Bruno Ramazini: former operator of Holiday House Frank "Big foot Hogan" Sansone: gambler; runs a restaurant Joe Sardino: no other Sardino's are connected with LCN Tom Sorce: Gambler Frank Stelloh: Close to Frank Balistrieri and Steve DeSalvo; non Italian, so couldn't be made Nick Tarantino: "very close" and trusted by Frank Balistrieri; couldn't be made because he helped police in a burglary investigation, this was well known to LCN John Triliegi: LCN associate Sam Vermiglio: former head of a counterfeit cigarette stamp ring; deals drugs; murdered John Volpe: runs the Holiday house
-An informant, possibly Maniaci, advised in 1964 tht Frank Balistrieri has a share in William Covelli's gambling operation (CI doesnt say, but Covelli may have been made)
-Aforementioned informant said Balistrieri also has a share in John Rizzo's bookmaking operation. Al Albana is the one who brings the money from Rizzo and Covelli to Balistrieri
-Both Maniaci and another CI reported that Balistrieri, Rizzo, and Covelli thought about buting a Key Club in Park City, Illinois. Maniaci said that if Balistrieri was serious, he would have to talk to Chicago first since its their terretory
-On April 5, 1964 CI (aforementioned informant, probably not Maniaci) advised that he expected Buster Balestrere and Joe Gurera were expected to come back to Milwaukee before June of 1964. They are coming back to act as hosts in a big crap game. Nick Tarantino would be a treasurer in the game. Frank Balistrieri will own the game and Buster Balestrere will be pit boss and host. The reasoning for starting the game was it would make a lot of money and wouldn't violate a federal law.
-Sam Cefalu and Sam Librizzi run a gambling office recieving a line from out of state, this is the only out of state line. Sam Dentice is a runner for the operation. Anthony "Sheriff Cefalu" Cefalu used to be involved, but is inactive
-a CI advised that 70% of gamblers are represented by Dominic Frinzi. Frinzi has represented Anthony Cefalu, Charles Piscuine, Robert Pick, William Cole, Steve Halmo, and Harvey Wach
-A CI advised on March 7, 1964 members of "Chicago and Miami outfits" (maybe meaning Tampa) were trying to build a motel in the bahamas. Balistrieri was going to have a 5% interest in it
-A different CI advised that Giancana was interested in a casino at Cat Cay in the Bahamas.
-Ben Novac owned the Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami and was a close associate of Chicago and New York LCN. He applied for a license to operate a casino in the Bahamas in April of 1964 and was denied due to his financial ties to gangsters
-a CI (probably Maniaci) reported on April 3, 1964 that Balistrieri and former capodecina, but current soldier Joe Caminiti had a meeting where they discussed the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD). Balistrieri said he helped get cheif of police Harold Breter into office. Blaistrieri said he felt the MPD was trying to put heat on him by arresting young people who frequented Gallagher's restaurant and they surveilled LCN members. Balistrieri met with inspector Kremsreiter who was the number 3 man in the MPD. Kremsreiter and Balistrieri met at Fazio's and had lunch. At lunch, Balistrieri suggested that the MPD should stay away from his kind and that there are not enough police to be just focusing on him. Balistrieri told Caminiti that he was happy with how it went.
-Frank Ranney is a secretary-treasurer of Teamsters local 200 and is very close to Balistrieri even working together at Atomic Industries, a bubble gum company
-An informant advised on March 24, 1964 that Balistrieri, Frank Ranney, and Joe Caminiti met at Fazio's. The informant said Balistrieri had "some form of domination over Ranney"
-One CI stated that Balistrieri is connected to Jimmy Hoffa and could get a multi-million dollar loan to build a motel in Milwaukee.
-Tony Volpe is connected with Chicago and has access to the money from the welfare and pension fund of the teamster union in Chicago and that many Las Vegas casinos have been financed with the money.
-On April 3, 1964, a CI (or wiretap) reported that Joe Caminiti and Frank Balistrieri had a meeting where they discussed "the disposition of money supplied by the Teamsters to Frank Balistrieri for distribution to some of the candidates for Alderman in the City of Milwaukee." Caminiti told Balistrieri he'll advise the candidates that they are backed by the teamsters.
-During the same meeting Caminiti insuled Robert Kennedy saying he operated a gestapo. They also talked about a speech Congressman Alvin O'Konski gave talking good about Jimmy Hoffa. The Teamsters gave money to O'Konski and Senator Morse (ph) for political purposes
-Caminiti said Robert Kennedy infringes on civil liberties, this was after O'Konski told him about an investigation coming by the DOJ
-Caminiti also said that the Teamsters had trouble getting the poney to pay for Jimmy Hoffa's legal expenses. Out of 35 locals in Wisconsin, 20 wouldn't pass anything in support of paying. Because of this, they decided they would take the money out of the joint counsil, meaning every member will pay .05-.10 cents
-Joe Caminiti told Frank Balistrieri that Frank Ranney said to be careful giving money to Alderman Allen L. Calhoun. This was due to when Calhoun once moved districts, he came into conflict with Al Hass who was close to the Milwaukee LCN. Balistrieri already knew and met with Calhoun and told him that Hass is who they're most loyal too, but they will support whoever won. Balistrieri gave cash to Calhoun as an unreported donation
-Balistrieri gave a donation to Art Else, who's opponent was Henry Maier. Balistrieri gave Else the donation at Gallagher's restaurant.
-Angelo Provinzano was a member of the city service commission who was mobbed up. Balistrieri gave money to Provinzano who then donated money to mob backed candidates. Provinzano donated $995 to mayor Henry Maier. Provinzano also was used in the past to get Italians in positions in the city government and police department. Informant said Provinzano wasn't made
-On April 17, 1964, Dominic Frinzi (mob attorney) was going to run for governor and the mafia backed him. Frinzi himself wasn't confident he could win, but it would give him publicity which he could later use to become a judge
-Anthony Biernat was found buried in a cellar of an abandoned farm sprinkled with lime, but it wasn't the right kind which would disintegrate a body
-Frank Balistrieri partly owns The Pitch Specialty Co. Balistrieri's relative Peter Picciuro operated the business. His father John Picciuro also has a piece or co-owns it.
-Carl Dentice has a jukebox operation in his name for Frank Balistrieri
-Sam Dentice got a jukebox license under his name for Balistrieri
-Peter Sciotino's bakery was targeted in a bombing because of Balistrieri's shakedown campaign. Sciortino was personally connected to Joe Bonanno in some way and ended up not having to pay. Sciortino himself wasn't a LCN member
-Balistrieri's shakedown campaign began in the summer of 1962 with Joseph Gurera and Buster Balestrere shaking businessmen and gamblers down. Some people did resist so Balistrieri wanted to send a message. They were going to kill either Bill Cole or Bobby Pick, but when LE found out they stopped trying.
-An informant though Tony LaRosa might be killed because it was said the Milwaukee family heard he gave information to LE
-In may of 1964, an informant said that Steve DeSalvo and Frank Stelloh now operated as musclemen for Balistrieri. They even planned to murder someone who the informant didn't know.
-The informant thought the murder target may have been Izzy Tocco who was a booker for Sam Cefalu and got in trouble, but the informant thought that this would be too little a reason to murder someone
-A different informant supplied information suggesting the murder target may be Joe Beck. Beck was making complaints against the Continental Sales Co. Balistrieri made comments to the acting manager Gus Chiaverotti where he expressed his anger against Beck.
-An informant advised on April 10, 1964 that he heard a story about a Milwaukee gangster being offered $5,000 by the Chicago LCN "to make a hit" on a prominent businessman who was made. The reasoning was because the man owed the Chicago family between $18,000-$20,000. The man either stole the money or bet and lost the outfit's money

2023.06.05 17:30 Relative-Ad8347 A new concept of multipropriety in the metaverse: Yourverse
| https://preview.redd.it/88b9ecyru74b1.jpg?width=1198&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77f389783c0cacfa335ea883c7438f52e2ef4892 Friends, creators, and explorers â welcome to YourVerse! The system is, in fact, linked to the blockchain, and cryptocurrencies are used for buying and selling. https://preview.redd.it/6bh9znmtu74b1.jpg?width=1195&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a97b3cf85555ab4f1f5e0a970b314628cbe9c0ae The Metaverse Real Estate Market has entered a vortex of strong growth, and given the potential for the future, therefore it seems to be the propitious moment to invest in the sector. It is important to underline the twofold implication, on the one hand for the user who buys the property, which is realizing an investment that also entails the acquisition of a sort of âshowcaseâ in the metaverse of The Sandbox, as well as to participate in activities of socialization and a series of events that will lead to the expected and unexpected beneficial owners (participation in exclusive events, gifts, airdrops, treasure hunt etc âŠ) On the other, for those who develop an economic activity, they can find a way to generate a profit directly or indirectly, creating events, sales, marketing activities etc⊠YourVerse, a unique proposal 1000 exclusive properties managed with NFT Zoom of the map of The Sandbox The project is carried out on a 2x2 Land on which a thousand properties managed through NFT arise, divided as follows: · Deluxe apartments · VIP apartments · Robot-apartments · Shops · Megastore · Billboards of different sizes 1000 properties accessible to all. What will be your % of possession in the City? Entry into ownership with NFT. Exclusivity for each owner. Possible customizations for each owner and for large partners. We create specially assets for your brand. Continuous maintenance by Metafutura srl. The sale of collection is available from May 10, 2023. The potential return of the investment By investing in YourVerse, you are investing in the future. To each property beyond the enjoyment of the experience, the return of image, and what you decide to buy (e.g. shop that leads to the completion of purchases from the city visitors), there will be frequent airdrops and events that will allow to increase the value of your property. The experience will be open to all and the Grand Central Palace which will be made in the center of the Land, will be able to host concerts, events, fashion shows, professional meetings, streaming, gaming, as well as NFT exhibitions and this will create a large flow of visits and growing interest in possessing a part of the City. In addition, the great engine will be the public characters, who, having believed in the project, will be able to give growing visibility to YourVerse! Welcome to the first multipropriety project in the metaverse of The Sandbox! FAQ What is YourVerse? YourVerse is a set of real estate property developed on a Land 2x2 that offers the first concept of Real Estate in the metaverse of The Sandbox, to be precise 1000 real estate units converted to NFT. What properties are present in YourVerse? Deluxe Apartments, Vip Apartments, Robot Apartments, Shops, Megastore, Billboard of different sizes, each with its own privileged position. What is the utility in holding a YourVerse NFT? Owning an NFT is equivalent to the exclusive possession of one of the thousand properties developed on the land. Holder side, hold an apartment, gives you the opportunity to create private events, such as holidays for example, with exclusive access, to which to invite your friends. In addition, like Holder, you will participate in all the events on the land, with Airdrops, Mystery Egg Hunts, seasoned with NFT of international collections, prizes and incentives by the Land partners. Company side, owning an NFT, such as a shop, gives the possibility to create its events in an always open land, possibility to customize your exhibition space and create public events. In addition, the possibility of renting part of the Grand Central Palace is reserved for companies, all this will be able to give a great return of image. Customization packages will be revealed to make their real estate unit unique and increase their value. Is it possible to rent a real estate unit? It will be possible to do it for companies immediately, which will make a rental contract through Metafutura srl. Subsequently there will be implementations to make the Rent expandable on all properties. Do the properties all have the same value? Absolutely not, the value is very different from one property to another. The possibility of now mining one of the 1000 NFT randomly, converges with on the one hand the thanks to being an Early Adopter as well as a supporter of the project, on the other the luck of being able to receive an asset with a much more important value of the cost of Mining. When will it be possible to access the land? Entrance to YourVerse will be possible by the end of the year 2023. Are NFT transferable? Absolutely yes, everyone can prepare as best he believes in his property, holding him or by selling it in the marketplace. Where can I buy a piece of YourVerse? You can make the MINT until the stocks are exhausted here: https://www.metafuturastudio.com/yourverse METAFUTURA SRL Metafutura Srl is a digital agency specialized in the production of assets and multimedia content based on 2D and 3D viewing in The Sandboxâs metaverse.
