2023.06.08 06:23 Remote_Barnacle9143 What you need to know about Harlequins, if you don't really want to know anything about Harlequins.
Hello everyone, introduction first: Eldar is my favorite faction of 40k and Harlequins - favorite sub-faction, for a long time already. They are not the most popular guys in this universe, but they recently attracted everyone's attention, in a bad way, by being the most broken codex/sub-faction for 2 editions straight. And when they became a target for discussions, I could not help noticing that people don't really know or understand "what" Harlequins are, which is okay, as they are really not the most interesting faction to many. But I still decided to do them justice, by making this post and introduce you to these fun dudes in diamonds, answering common questions, misconceptions and telling why they are so cool, without getting into lore much.
And first of all...
...Harlequins are not space clowns.
I'm sorry, but I guess I should point this out. Harlies being called space clowns is a common community meme, but this is not who they really are. While there are clear similarities, they are not yours weird, evil-funny, chaotic-neutral killer-elves with Joker laughter (but they certainly can do all of it, don't get me wrong!). So, who are they then?
Harlequins are priests.
You know the drill, eldar empire go boom, gods are dead, with only one (fully) left alive. Yea, Cegorach is a god of fools, but he still a "God". So, he got his acolytes and priests. And if we would've got Isha or Asuryan left, we would've got our normal standard "priests". Instead, we've got Cegorach.
Harlequins are preachers (sort of).
So, being part of fool's god church, harlequins main job is preaching among all the remnants of the eldar empire. And they do it with a theater tour across webway, preaching about how you should or shouldn't act but with (Megamind voice) PRESENTATION!
Harlequins are eldar Grey Knights.
The other part of a job, is keeping an eye on daemons. While their true goal is to defeat Slaanesh (duh), harlies also fight any kinds of daemons. While, yes, there was no special harlequin to defeat chaos Primarch and carve a tattoo on his heart (yet), they are quite good at it. Stopping planets from cosplaying doom is quite easy for them, when they can freely travel across the galaxy with a webway, and a farseers, working for them as a funny weather forecast presenter. Speaking of which...
Harlequins are the most influential eldar faction
You know, eldar are not pleasant folks. Even a "good guys" from a neighboring craftworld have a rough relationship. And then you got harlies, who always come without an invitation and get away with it. They could just emerge before (or during) battle or raid and say they're joining (you are not allowed to refuse. If you feel some "Inquisition" vibes, it's because that's what it is). There is a general rule about harlequins: when they come - you let them in and listen, because...
Harlequins are scary.
You don't want to mess with these weirdos. Like, really. No dark eldar archon, regardless of how cruel and devious he is, would willingly act against harlequins. They behave funny, speak politely, without ever getting out of their theatrical roles, but any "blasphemy" would be your last mistake (Yep, they really are eldar inquisition in fancy dresses).
Moving to tabletop: did they really have 60%+ winrate? Why?
Two words. Glass cannon. And also they are fast as hell. Yes, they are thin as paper, but enemy can't hurt you if he is dead. Just hide behind walls and then jump out and start blasting. This is fine on your regular, casual tables without a lot of walls, but did you see how terrain looks on tournaments tables? It's damn mazes of ruins!
Also, most rules are, how should I say it, well, bullshit. You know how you normally use your boltguns for infantry and meltaguns for vehicles? Well, this is not true for harlies. Melta just don't work, but boltguns, actually, very effective against all targets. Shooting with plasma? Not effective at all. Hitting clown with a boot? This is the way! Don't forget, that these funny dudes can jump into melee, then jump out, shoot you and charge you. Also, they are flying. Also, they all have invul. Also, this is melta-pistols, so say goodbye to your tank.
But this was never the point of why I like to play them.
So, what's fun to play them?
Outside of lore, and obvious "glasscannonness" I think I find several reasons for myself:
Really unique playstyle.
I mean it. You are king of the movement phase. And it's not only about that you "gotta go fast". Wall on your path? Ignore it. Penalties for leaving ongoing close combat? Ignore it. Enemy frontline? You guessed it.
Band of "mercenaries".
There are not many factions in 40k who could freely join other armies, without stealing a spotlight. Harlequins are the one. They could work as a single army, but now I prefer to use a small detachment of them in different eldar armies. It's very entertaining to see them adapt different playstyle, when your troupe fights alongside seer council from craftworld in one game, to then join incubi charge in the next.
Specialist team
Harlequins always have a good variety of options to compensate for their humble model range. My favorite time was at the end of 8th edition, when depending on your choice of special rules, your Death Jester (shooting character) could be either a Vindicare cosplayer, a heavy machine gunner, a vehicle hunter, or just a really cheap model for objective holding. And I'm not even talking about absolutely legal 9th edition 500pts detachment consisting with only one unit in your deployment zone: a floating boat full of characters.
About painting...
Yea, painting diamonds is a gimmick as much as you would've expected. I paint my theater in midnight sorrow scheme (posterboys, black, with blue/red diamonds). Fun fact: this is my first painted 40k army (this is why there are no photos, don't want to hurt your eyes), also used glossy paints for them, gives an interesting look and a good contrast with my dull black Ulthwe and Black Heart parties.
In some sort of conclusion
There is a lot of lore I don't cover here, because the point of this post was to quickly introduce people to harlequins on a surface level, if they don't really want to go deep into it. But if this post makes you curious to know more about them, you really should check wiki or their codex, there is a lot of cool stuff there.
Also, for my fellow troupe masters, if you want to add something to this post, feel free to do so.
p.s. text can be filled with language errors, me sorry, me speak bad.

2023.06.08 04:57 freshme4t How to terminate last row of shingles on a lean-to shed?
Building a
lean-to shed from plans with limited roofing skills. I am at the point of finishing the roof drip edge, paper, and shingles tomorrow ahead of rain in the forecast. I am comfortable with most of the process with the exception of the very last row of shingles. On
STEP 9 it says to use the top part of a 3 tab shingle to cover the drip edge, but how the hell do you attach the strip? I bought a tube of Loctite PL S30 for the drip edge overlap on the long sides where I need more than 10ft of drip edge. Should I just use that stuff to 'glue' the top layer of shingles? Am I supposed to overlap the last row? Should I be nailing the top row in and covering the nail holes with the Loctite? I'm perplexed.

2023.06.08 03:04 Wall_Street_Titan Soft Tissue Injury Approval by FDA
Nice to see a regenerative medicine victory, even if it's once in a blue moon!
AVITA Medical Announces FDA Approval of RECELL for Treatment of Full-Thickness Skin Defects GLOBENEWSWIRE - 8:00 PM ET VALENCIA, Calif. and MELBOURNE, Australia , June 07, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AVITA Medical, Inc. (RCEL) , a regenerative medicine company leading the development and commercialization of first-in-class devices and autologous cellular therapies for skin restoration, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved its premarket approval (PMA) supplement for the use of its RECELL® System to treat full-thickness skin defects.
“This is a landmark approval representing an inflection point for AVITA Medical,” said Jim Corbett , AVITA Medical (RCEL) Chief Executive Officer. “The FDA approval now offers surgeons a best-in-class treatment option for a multitude of severe wounds within inpatient and outpatient settings.”
The expanded indication represents a broad label of full-thickness skin defects, such as wound injuries after traumatic avulsion (e.g., degloving), surgical excision (e.g., necrotizing soft tissue infection), or resection (e.g., skin cancer), thereby dramatically expanding the company’s market opportunity at least five times.
“We had a high level of confidence in the FDA’s approval timeline of RECELL for the treatment of skin defects,” continued Mr. Corbett. “In anticipation of the expanded indication, we more than doubled our field sales organization in the first few months of the year. Our sales team is now ready, trained, and fully prepared for the commercial launch, which will commence July 1, 2023 . On behalf of AVITA Medical (RCEL) , I’d like to express my utmost appreciation to the many patients and healthcare providers who partnered with us to help bring our innovative technology to more patients across the U.S.”
The RECELL System was first approved in the U.S. for the treatment of severe burns in 2018. The system is an autologous cell harvesting device that prepares, produces, and delivers a regenerative cell suspension, Spray-On Skin™ Cells, using a small amount of a patient’s own skin. The Spray-On Skin Cells contain a combination of single living cells that stimulate healing and repigmentation throughout the wound bed.
Currently, skin grafting is the standard of care for full-thickness skin defects, including post-trauma and post-surgical skin reconstruction. However, skin grafting requires the harvesting of donor skin, resulting in an additional wound to the patient. Significant pain, delayed healing, risk of infection, the need for multiple procedures, discoloration, and scarring are associated with donor site wounds. Based on results from the company’s pivotal trial for soft tissue repair and reconstruction, RECELL demonstrated statistically non-inferior healing rates with statistically significant donor sparing, meaning less skin from the patient is required to repair and close the wound without compromising the healing outcomes relative to convention autografting.
The PMA supplement received prioritized review through the FDA’s Breakthrough Device program. The FDA grants the Breakthrough Device designation to medical devices that provide more effective treatment of life-threatening or irreversibly debilitating diseases or conditions. The PMA supplement approval follows the original PMA approval of the RECELL System for the treatment of severe burns in September 2018 .
AVITA Medical’s clinical trial in soft tissue repair has been funded in part with Federal funds from the U.S. Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), under ongoing USG Contract number HHSO100201500028C.
Authorized for release by the Chief Executive Officer of AVITA Medical, Inc. (RCEL)
ABOUT AVITA MEDICAL, INC. (RCEL) AVITA Medical® is a regenerative medicine company leading the development and commercialization of devices and autologous cellular therapies for skin restoration. The RECELL® System technology platform, approved by the FDA for the treatment of thermal burn wounds and full-thickness skin defects, harnesses the regenerative properties of a patient’s own skin to create Spray-On Skin™ cells. Delivered at the point-of-care, RECELL enables improved clinical outcomes and validated cost savings. RECELL is the catalyst of a new treatment paradigm and AVITA Medical (RCEL) is leveraging its proven and differentiated capabilities to develop first-in-class cellular therapies for multiple indications, including repigmentation of stable vitiligo lesions.
AVITA Medical’s first U.S. product, the RECELL System, was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in September 2018 . The RECELL System is approved for acute partial-thickness thermal burn wounds in patients 18 years of age and older or application in combination with meshed autografting for acute full-thickness thermal burn wounds in pediatric and adult patients and full-thickness skin defects after traumatic avulsion (e.g. degloving) or surgical excision (excision (e.g., necrotizing soft tissue infection) or resection (e.g., skin cancer), in patients 15 years of age and older. In February 2022 , the FDA reviewed and approved the PMA supplement for RECELL Autologous Cell Harvesting Device, an enhanced RECELL System aimed at providing clinicians a more efficient user experience and simplified workflow.
The RECELL System is used to prepare Spray-On Skin™ Cells using a small amount of a patient’s own skin, providing a new way to treat severe wounds, while significantly reducing the amount of donor skin required. The RECELL System is designed to be used at the point of care alone or in combination with autografts depending on the depth of the burn injury or in combination with meshed autographs for full-thickness skin defects. Healthcare professionals should read the INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE - RECELL Autologous Cell Harvesting Device (
https://recellsystem.com) for a full description of indications for use and important safety information including contraindications, warnings, and precautions.
In international markets, our products are approved under the RECELL System brand to promote skin healing in a wide range of applications including burns, soft tissue repair, vitiligo, and aesthetics. The RECELL System is TGA-registered in Australia , received CE-mark approval in Europe and has PMDA approval in Japan .

2023.06.08 00:26 UniversityFrequent15 Camping in the Cambrian Mountains
| When most people go camping in Wales, Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons seem to be the places to go, but mid Wales is often overlooked. It may not hold some of the loftier summits found in the aforementioned national parks, but it also draws far fewer crowds, and to me that is a big selling point. You can walk for hours without seeing a single soul. Having received some bad news about a family member, solitude and space was exactly what I needed. I spent the day before obsessing over my kit. I am no ultra light camper - far from it, but this time I wanted to cut out as much weight as possible. While packing, every item was questioned. I worked out how many tent pegs I needed, allowed 2 spares and removed the others. I swapped out a small folding table for a canister stand for the stove, I substituted my chair for an ultra light stool, and I would rely on a water filter rather than bringing all the water I need (usually 2L plus a drink). I got my pack weight down to 12kg, not light to some, but to someone who thinks 18kg is reasonable, I was quite happy with this number. I decided half a litre was enough to take for the walk as the weather was warm. Going down a season on the sleeping bag was tempting due to the warmer weather but on the mountains it is very different at night. A strong westerly wind was forecast, so wind chill was definitely going to be a factor to bear in mind. The walk in didn't get off to the best start. I had to follow a track through a farm where it split - one path was longer and less steep, the other shorter and steeper but having better options for collecting water. I chose the latter of the two but took the wrong path because my watch's compass had decided to play up for a moment. Once the error was realised, I was not concerned, knowing that both paths would arrive at the same location, I continued on. There would be a couple of springs near this path I would use to take on water, and a couple of associated bodies of water, but alas, both of these springs were bone dry, the ground there dessicated and cracked where a once sizeable pool of water sat. A pool of murky stagnant water was now my only option at the altitude I had reached. Deciding not to opt for the murky pool, I headed down the path I was originally going to walk up until I reach the remains of an old mine - and for this reason was glad to have bought a water filter, as this was an old lead mine. The water may possibly have been OK to drink, but it was not a risk I was willing to entertain. Now with a couple of litres of filtered water in my pack I headed back up. At 754m the summit is very prominent over the surrounding hills. The view is spectacular, and easily offers a panorama that could rival many a fine view from the Lake District or Scotland. The sun shone strong in a cloudless sky, and beneath it a diffused reflection of it coming off the Irish Sea - something you don't expect to see from mid Wales. To the north, you could see as far as the Aran ridge and Cadair Idris. If it were not for the haze, even the Carneddau of northern Snowdonia could be visible. Once I had finished admiring the scenery, it was time to find somewhere to spend the night. The view from the summit would make a fine view to open the tent to in the morning, but the forecast was mist and fog overnight, clearing later in the morning, so there would likely be no views at all. This was one factor that influenced my decision on where to camp, but the overriding one was, as often with summit camping, the wind. It was a relentless 30mph wind, no gusts, just strong and steady. Spending the night on the summit would meant enduring the noise of the constant winds battering the tent. I opted for a spot just below the summit ridge on the Western side of the mountain, with the wind coming in from the east. It took me a while of following the summit ridge, checking what the wind was like while stood, and again while crouched, to see what the wind would be like hitting the tent, for me to decide on a spot. According to the forecast, temperatures would dip down to 5° but with the wind chill factor would take it down to -2°, and from past experience, I believed that it probably wasn't too far off the mark, with low cloud and mist added into the mix. That was what had made me decide on a 3 season sleeping bag. By some stroke of luck, the spot I found that offered some shelter from the worst of the wind, also had the best ground for pitching a tent; level and quite flat, and luxuriously soft, a combination of grass and moss which is almost always wet, but not today. This was ideal. Of course, a flat pitch is a rarity, and even when you find what you think is a flat pitch, you often find that even the slightest gradient can soon make you realise it wasn't as flat as first thought, often indicated by the way you rarely wake up with your body or mat in their original positions. I wasn't complaining though, as I had done far worse in the past. I sat outside until nearly midnight watching the sun go down, with brief interruptions of having to get up and walk for a minute of two to get the blood flowing and warm myself up a bit. With the combined factors of darkness, uneven ground, boots not being tied, strong wind and a generous amount of vodka, I spent what seemed like a full minute nearly falling over. Somehow I remained on my feet, but decided it was most certainly time to hit the hay. I woke some time after 5, and could see the light was creeping in, and recognised a familiar colour of light I have seen many a time from within the tent, so popped my head out to confirm that indeed we were clagged in, and there would be no glorious sunrise. Still, that sunset the previous night was a tough act to follow. Despite me having what I thought was warm enough clothing, it was actually the cold that had awoken me. I had planned ahead and bought a down blanket to throw over me in case I had gotten cold. The blanket is very effective and before long at all I was toasty, the warmth causing me to nod off again for another couple of hours. The cloud had all cleared, blue skies and fluffy white clouds greeted me by the time I re-emerged from the tent. I was going nowhere without coffee and porridge, and by the time my gear was all packed and ready to go, the sun was beating down again. My return journey was via the same route that had got me there. I could have made it down quite quickly but opted to saunter, and quite likely I could have easily missed seeing some incredible red kites flying had I put my head down and marched back to the car. This was one of those trips where I didn't take the weather for granted, it was well planned, well looked forward to and well enjoyed. Sometimes it takes a camp like this to make us realise that all those wet camps in rough weather make trips like this one quite special. submitted by UniversityFrequent15 to wildcampingintheuk [link] [comments] |

2023.06.07 22:57 Then_Marionberry_259 JUN 07, 2023 ALDE.V ALDEBARAN INTERCEPTS 565.60 M OF 0.60% CUEQ, INCLUDING 329.60 M OF 0.80% IN HOLE ALD-23-228: DRILLING HAS RECOMMENCED TO DEEPEN HOLE AS IT TERMINATED IN HIGH-GRADE MINERALIZATION
| https://preview.redd.it/0k5033yctn4b1.png?width=3500&format=png&auto=webp&s=c04afe1bfda97ade5a7848adcd40e13d3e833045 VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 07, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aldebaran Resources Inc. (“ Aldebaran ” or the “ Company ”) (TSX-V: ALDE, OTCQX: ADBRF) is pleased to report results for holes ALD-23-227 and ALD-23-228 from its ongoing drilling campaign at the Altar copper-gold project in San Juan Province, Argentina. Hole ALD-23-227 was a 200 m step out hole to the north from previously released ALD-22-223 (1,167.50 m of 0.48% CuEq – see March 1, 2023 press release). ALD-23-228 was a 200 m step out to the north from previously released ALD-23-225B (951.20 m of 0.60% CuEq – see May 31, 2023 press release). Both holes have provided valuable additional pierce points into the promising geophysical anomaly beneath and lateral to current resources at the Altar project. In addition, both ALD-23-227 and ALD-23-228 tested the northern extension of the newly identified Altar United trend. ALD-23-227 entered favourable host rocks at approximately 1,000 m depth, and then returned attractive grade mineralization until the end of the hole. ALD-23-228 hit the favourable host rock formation at approximately 750 m depth and thereafter returned some of the highest-grade copper mineralization encountered on the project to date, demonstrating that the high-grade mineralization found previously in hole ALD-23-225B has continuity. Highlights ALD-23-228 - 565.60 m of 0.60% CuEq from 676.00 m depth
- Including 474.60 m of 0.69% CuEq from 767.00 m depth
- Including 329.60 of 0.80% CuEq from 912.00 m depth
- Hole ended in 74.60 m of 0.80% CuEq with the last sample running 0.96% CuEq
- The Company has re-entered hole ALD-23-228 and is actively drilling to test for the deeper extension of this higher-grade mineralization
ALD-23-227 - 198.50 m of 0.50% CuEq from 1,040.00 m depth
- Including 60.50 m of 0.63% CuEq from 1,178.0 m depth
- Hole ended in 31.50 m of 0.69% CuEq
John Black, Chief Executive Officer of Aldebaran, commented as follows: “Hole 228 represents another remarkable run of mineralization and represents some of the better grades we’ve seen at the Altar project. We have re-started drilling on hole 228 to see if the higher-grade mineralization continues to depth. The Altar system continues to grow well beyond what was previously understood. The resource we have in hand already represents one of the largest undeveloped copper projects in the world; however, with the mineralization we’ve been hitting in recent drill results, we expect it to grow substantially.” Dr. Kevin B. Heather, Chief Geological Officer of Aldebaran, commented as follows: “Both holes reported today demonstrate that the new Altar United trend continues to deliver solid runs of higher-grade mineralization that build onto the previous higher-grade intercepts reported recently in holes 223, 224, and 225B. With these new results, it’s clear that Altar United is delivering continuity of higher-grade mineralization, within an already very large Altar system, that will add additional higher-grade tonnage. The upper portions of holes 227 and 228 both drilled through less favourable rhyolite host rocks, and while they didn’t return exceptional grades, it demonstrates that even poor host rocks can be mineralized in this strong system The lower-grade intervals reported today will likely report to resource at a break-even cut-off grade, which typically hovers around 0.1% CuEq, thus potentially reducing the strip ratio.” Table 1 below displays detailed assay results. Figure 1 displays a plan map with the location of the reported holes as well as completed and active drill holes. Figure 2 displays a cross-section, looking to the east, showing results from ALD-23-227. Figure 3 displays a cross-section, looking to the east, showing results from ALD-23-228. Figure 4 displays a cross-section, looking to the east, showing results from ALD-23-228 in histogram. https://preview.redd.it/i8dkng0dtn4b1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=39ad83cf5f596296cf82f23b11273e06efc028ae Discussion of Results ALD-23-227 Drillhole ALD-23-227 was collared 200 m north of ALD-22-223 (see Company news release dated March 1, 2023). It was drilled at an -75-degree inclination and a 180-degree azimuth. The final depth of the hole was 1,238.50 m. Drillhole ALD-23-227 intersected a package of strongly fragmental dacitic crystal tuff over the first 428 m, then transitioned to less favourable but weakly mineralized massive rhyolite, which continued to a depth of 1,179.60 m. The hole then transitioned into the better mineralized diorite porphyry intrusive rocks until the end of the hole, with mineralization increasing towards the bottom of the hole. The base of oxidation in hole ALD-23-227 is only 26 m depth. Alteration in this hole is characterized dominantly by white sericite-pyrite-tourmaline-quartz assemblages and sporadic pyrite-enargite-anhydrite / anhydrite-carbonates-chalcopyrite-sphalerite structures and veins. This white sericite alteration overprints, and locally obliterates, an earlier green sericite-chalcopyrite-pyrite assemblage from the very first metres of the hole up until approximately 750 m depth, leaving only local windows of the earlier green sericite assemblage. Beyond 750 m depth, the green sericite-chalcopyrite-pyrite assemblage progressively increases along with an associated increase in both chalcopyrite and quartz-chalcopyrite-pyrite-molybdenite veins. From 843.80 m to 1179.60 m depth, white sericite-pyrite-quartz alteration is of moderate intensity and associated with an increase in the occurrence of chalcopyrite. In this interval, the rhyolite porphyry has some relicts of biotite-magnetite-k feldspar (potassic) alteration, which is overprinted by increasing green sericite-chalcopyrite-anhydrite assemblages associated with halo-style veins (as documented in nearby holes 223, 224 and 225B). From 1,179.60 m to the end of the hole, biotite-k feldspar-magnetite-chalcopyrite-bornite (potassic) is the dominant alteration in the diorite porphyry intrusion, but is also overprinted by moderate intensity, green sericite-quartz-anhydrite-chalcopyrite-(chalcocite) alteration-mineralization, pervasively developed in the halos of hairline veins. A substantial increase in the frequency of quartz-chalcopyrite-pyrite-molybdenite veins is also observed towards the bottom of the hole. ALD-23-228 Drillhole ALD-23-228 was collared 212 m north of ALD-23-225B (see Company news release dated May 31, 2023). It was drilled at an -75-degree inclination and a 180-degree azimuth. The final depth of the hole was 1,241.60 m (drilling has re-started on this hole to deepen it). Similar to drillhole ALD-23-227, hole 228 intersected a package of strongly fragmental dacitic crystal tuffs from surface to 205.30 m. These volcaniclastic rocks overlie a long run of massive rhyolite extending to a depth of 805 m, followed by more favourable andesitic volcanic host rocks until 918.55 m depth and then from there until the bottom of the hole within well mineralized diorite porphyry intrusive rocks. The oxidation profile in ALD-23-228 is poorly developed in the upper portion of the hole, with the occurrence of sulphides from near surface and minor jarosite-goethite-hematite in fractures up to the base of oxidation at approximately 266 m depth. Alteration within the upper crystal tuff and rhyolite units is characterized dominantly by the occurrence of white sericite-pyrite-tourmaline-quartz assemblages with minor pyrite-enargite-anhydrite / anhydrite-carbonates-chalcopyrite-sphalerite vein structures overprinting an earlier green sericite-quartz-chalcopyrite-pyrite alteration. “D” type veins, which are typically late in the development of porphyry copper systems, are very frequent in the upper portion of the hole, with a lesser number of high-sulfidation structures; all crosscutting earlier quartz-green sericite-chalcopyrite-pyrite and white quartz-chalcopyrite-moly veins. A major change in the style of alteration occurs within the andesite volcanic rocks and the diorite porphyry units below approximately 805 m depth. From this depth and to the bottom of the hole, the white sericite-pyrite assemblages decrease considerably, and the dominant alteration is characterized by an early, strongly developed biotite-k feldspar-chalcopyrite potassic assemblage overprinted by a green sericite-quartz-anhydrite-chalcopyrite-(chalcocite) assemblage associated with the halos on hairline veins, both of which are well mineralized. These halo-style veins are pervasive and obliterate the original texture of the rock and are associated with very high copper grades due to abundant fine-grained sulphides consisting of chalcopyrite-pyrite-bornite-molybdenite. Occurrence of these halo veins also corresponds with an increasing frequency of quartz-chalcopyrite-pyrite-molybdenite veins, which in most cases are crosscutting the halo-style veins. Project Update The Company is actively drilling with four rigs. Holes ALD-23-229, ALD-23-230, ALD-23-231 and ALD-23-189EXT are completed and were terminated at 1,413.60 m, 611.40 m, 1,211.80 m, and 1,246.00 m respectively: all pending final assays. Hole ALD-23-189EXT, is an extension of a historically drilled hole ALD-12-189, which was originally terminated at 592 m depth. At the date of this release, holes ALD-23-232, ALD-23-124EXT and ALD-23-228EXT were active and at approximately 1064.70 m, 751.00 m and 1,358.70 m depths, respectively. Hole ALD-23-124EXT is an extension of a historically drilled hole ALD-12-124, which was originally terminated at 226.50 m depth. A fourth rig just commenced drilling on hole ALD-23-233 and will not reach its planned target depth during the current campaign but will be left in good standing in order to re-enter and continue the hole at the start of the next field campaign. The Company plans to begin demobilizing the drill rigs and then shut down the camp to close out the 2022/2023 drill campaign in the coming week. Webinar For more context, please join the Company in a live event on Thursday, June 8 th at 11:00 am EST / 8:00 am PST. Q&A will follow the presentation. 2023.06.07 20:16 CalmGains All you need to know about today's earnings
Here on
/GME I'm sure all of you guys are watching GameStop (GME) stock today, as the video game retailer will report its first-quarter fiscal 2023 earnings after the market close. Despite demonstrating some impressive growth over the past month, the stock has struggled to retain momentum.
However, if the company can beat Wall Street’s modest expectations, GME stock has a chance to rise. Given its meme stock status, GameStop tends to garner skepticism from experts, even on its best days. As InvestorPlace’s Eddie Pan reports,
institutional sentiment toward GME remains mixed, even as the stock has risen since Q1. Additionally, Ray Dalio’s Bridgewater Associates
recently divested from its GameStop position, generating further uncertainty.
Not that long ago, CEO
Matt Furlong released a letter to shareholders, detailing the company’s plan and focus for the year.
“In fiscal 2022, GameStop’s operating environment dramatically changed due to the onset of inflation, rising interest rates and macro headwinds,” said Furlong. “Rather than stand still, we pivoted to cutting costs, optimizing inventory and enhancing the customer experience.”
That’s exactly what the company has been doing. In Europe, for example, GameStop has placed an emphasis on cutting costs by initiating exits and partial wind-downs. GameStop has also focused on forming partnerships with other retail and gaming companies in order to accelerate efficient top-line growth. To drive revenue, the company has explored building market share in high-margin related businesses, like collectibles and toys.
Now, with earnings coming up, investors will get a preview of GameStop’s cost-cutting efforts. This is not the type of post you wanna skip onto the tl;dr portion. These details are going to be key, so let's get into it.
For the quarter,
analyst have forecasted revenue of $1.358 billion, which would imply a year-over-year (YoY) decline of 1.45% and a quarter-over-quarter decline of about 39%. During the past few years, Q4 has been a strong quarter for GameStop, likely due to the holiday season. This can explain the quarter-over-quarter decline.
Meanwhile, adjusted net income is expected to be a loss of $36 million, while adjusted EPS is expected to be a loss of 12 cents. Analyst believe that GAAP EPS will be a loss of 15 cents. A year ago, GameStop reported an adjusted net income loss of $158 million and an adjusted EPS loss of 52 cents.
Just as important, if not more important, than earnings is guidance. For the second quarter, analysts have forecasted revenue of $1.155 billion, which reflects YOY growth of 1.67% and a quarterly decline of about 15%. Adjusted net income is expected to be a loss of $62 million, which would equate to an adjusted EPS loss of 21 cents.
For the full year of 2023, analysts believe that revenue will be $5.908 million, down by 0.33% YoY. Adjusted net income is expected to be a loss of $91 million, while adjusted EPS is expected to be a loss of 30 cents.
Things to Note: Short Selling Ban GameStop fans have been watching closely for updates on a pending short selling ban. If regulators successfully enact a policy that prohibits the practice of short selling, it may put an end to some of GameStop’s problems, as it is a popular target for short sellers.
GameStop management will likely address the potential short-selling ban during the June 7 earnings call, offering insights as to how they will handle operations if the bill becomes a law.
Things to Note: Plans for Web.3.0 Gaming In 2022, GameStop turned plenty of heads when it ventured into the world of NFTs. You know, those fungus tokens or whatever? Hype around this controversial commodity has since died down, but the company still is digitally innovating.
It recently announced a partnership with the Telos Foundation to integrate blockchain technology into its “upcoming Web3 game launcher.” This new development certainly has the potential to bolster GME stock if executed correctly. This foray into Web 3.0 will likely also be a point of focus during the earnings call, as investors will want to know the company’s plans for scaling its new launcher and improving the gaming experience through blockchain. Additionally, it may also mean updates on GameStop’s NFT marketplace and its impact on the company’s profitability.
Why GameStop Could Go Parabolic Last quarter, GameStop caught bears off-guard by reporting earnings per share of 16 cents. Analysts had predicted the video game retailer would post a loss per share of 13 cents. GameStop's unexpectedly profitable quarter caused GME shares to soar about 50% after the earnings announcement.
Last quarter, one of the few analysts covering GameStop, Wedbush's
Michael Pachter, provided a $6.50 price target for GME, with an "Underperform" rating. Pachter claimed that shares were "at trading levels that are disconnected from the fundamentals of the business due to irrational support from some retail investors."
Although GameStop shares are still trading 40% higher than they were before the previous earnings release — and 73% above the Wedbush analyst's target — Pachter has
reinforced his bearish thesis for Q1 earnings and left his price target intact.
Holiday sales largely contributed to GameStop's fourth-quarter net profit — making it questionable whether the video game retailer can pull off that feat for the second quarter in a row. But if GameStop does report a net profit in Q1, it will be a catalyst for the stock's retail investors to drive share prices higher. Currently,
short sellers hold about 21% of GameStop's outstanding shares. As demand for shorting the stock has reduced dramatically since March,
borrow fees for GME have dropped from 40% to 7.6%. But because the company continues to attract short sellers, these fees may increase.
With the stock outperforming the S&P 500 by about 30%, GME shorts will likely accumulate mark-to-market losses this year. This, combined with high borrow fees, will likely result in a short squeeze.
Update on DRS Numbers Besides a potential second consecutive quarterly net profit, GameStop's shareholder base is looking forward to another piece of information: the number of GME shares registered with Computershare, the company's transfer agent.
In recent quarters, GameStop investors have increasingly registered their shares directly with Computershare via the
Direct Registration System (DRS). With this service, shareholders do not need to hold shares through a broker.
In addition to giving holders the autonomy to have their shares registered in their name, recording shares through the DRS also reduces short sellers' ability to borrow GameStop shares. That is because, unlike brokers, transfer agents cannot lend shares to short sellers.
Since the third quarter of 2021,
GameStop has disclosed the number of shares registered with the transfer agent in the quarterly filings. In the most recent annual filing, 76 million GameStop shares were registered with the transfer agent. Considering the size of GameStop's float, about 25% of all GME shares outstanding are held beyond brokers and banks.
Does this affect the stock's trading volume? Yes. If you look at GameStop's trading volume history, it is clear that there has been a decline in activity since May of last year.
Check this chart, data from yahoo finance. It is impossible to say with certainty that GameStop's recent volume drop is due to investors using the transfer agent to keep their shares away from short sellers. But, we can say that if GameStop reports that more shares have been registered through the DRS, retail shareholders could send the stock higher.
What does the chart say? GameStop shares have rallied higher since the start of May, with a supportive trendline following the share price higher. We can see the stock came close to testing $25 on several occasions last week and this could be a key level to watch considering it has held as a reliable ceiling since late last year, apart from one brief move above here after it posted that surprise profit in the last quarter. A move above here would pave the way for the stock to climb above $27.
On the downside, a slip below the supportive trendline risks seeing the stock unravel back toward the lows seen at the start of May of $18, with the 2023 lows back in play below that.
What I'm doing for earnings? All the research is telling me to get calls. I'm gonna be dropping a significant portion of my portfolio into GME 6/9 30c for $100 each. Then I'll watch the stock at 4pm, and hope for the best.
Disclaimer That being said, it's up to you guys to read this and come to your own conclusions. IV is very high so it's better to go for a spread, regardless of what you choose. I make posts like this for all sorts of earnings, check my post history. However, I felt that this one for Gamestop should be posted here. It's my first post on
/GME so I hope you like the write-up. If you're interested in more like this for other stocks, please give me a follow or join my

2023.06.07 19:48 Samowarrior SPC has issued a 15% for day 4 (Sat) on 6/7/2023
| ZCZC SPCSWOD48 ALL ACUS48 KWNS 070858 SPC AC 070858 Day 4-8 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0358 AM CDT Wed Jun 07 2023 Valid 101200Z - 151200Z ...DISCUSSION... Medium-range guidance is in reasonably good agreement that a low-amplitude shortwave trough will advance eastward from the southern High Plains across much of OK/TX on Day 4/Saturday. A surface dryline should mix eastward across these same areas through the day. Mid 60s to low 70s surface dewpoints are generally forecast ahead of the dryline. Daytime heating of this moist low-level airmass, combined with steep mid-level lapse rates, should foster the development of at least moderate instability by late Saturday afternoon. Even though mid-level flow should not be overly strong, sufficient deep-layer shear to support organized multicells and perhaps some supercells should be present. Any thunderstorms that can form along the dryline, or farther east in the warm sector along/south of a developing warm front, should be capable of producing large hail and severe wind gusts. Given greater confidence in convection occurring, have introduced a 15% severe area for Saturday across parts of OK/TX. Some severe threat will probably exist on Day 5/Sunday along/south of a front from portions of the southern Plains into the lowemid MS Valley and Southeast as an upper trough/low becomes established over the Upper Midwest. However, confidence is low in the details of robust thunderstorm evolution/placement due to the prior day's convection, and its potential to overturn much of the warm sector. Although uncertainty remains, it appears increasingly probable that some form of an upper trough and related strong mid-level jet will impact parts of the southern/central Plains into the lowemid MS Valley and Southeast from Day 6/Monday through Day 8/Wednesday. These features will likely overlap an expansive warm sector across these regions. Depending on the timing, amplitude, and strength of the upper trough, some severe risk will probably exist each day next week. Still, too much model spread exists to highlight favored corridors of severe potential in this extended time frame. submitted by Samowarrior to tornado [link] [comments] |
2023.06.07 19:43 Professional_Disk131 Predictmedix Inc. (CSE: PMED, OTCQB: PMEDF) Special Report
| Predictmedix – a great way to surf the Artificial Intelligence wave. https://preview.redd.it/f1x4jx9oum4b1.png?width=741&format=png&auto=webp&s=d387631262e56fc732c745f909a2b60afde4f24e There is a saying attributed to Mark Twain that goes, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but if often rhymes.” This means circumstances might be different but similar events often recur. This is good because securities regulators demand that you make it clear that in the financial markets, “Past performance is no guarantee of future results.” However, investment analysts continue to use rhymes and here’s one that could help you see sizeable investment returns from Predictmedix Inc. (CSE: PMED, OTCQB: PMEDF). This is how the rhyme comes together: A. The 1990s technology boom: The parallel I see is between the current Artificial Intelligence cycle and the dot-com stock market cycle of ≈1990 to ≈ 2002. As background, the 1990s either developed or laid the groundwork for changes that completely transformed the world we live in. Out of that time came many new technologies and related developments and each was highly disruptive. Here is a very brief list of some of those developments: (1) Nokia was the first mass-produced cellphone offered in 1992 with the ability to send and receive phone calls as well as store data (e.g. phone numbers). (2) The World Wide Web, a.k.a. the Web browser was proposed in 1990 and debuted in 1991. This was the start of the Internet, Websites, e-mails and a massive amount of information that would become available to everyone. (3) With the explosion of data available, finding it became a challenge. Mosaic started as the first search engine in 1993 followed by Yahoo in 1994 and Google in 1998. Today, Google has risen to the top and become synonymous with an Internet search. Google it. (4) Other important developments of that time included the growth in the capacity of microprocessors, Photoshop, texting, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, realistic videogames for a more adult market, collecting and using DNA, the start of e-tailing and more. (5) Finally, we have the stock market. Cisco, Dell, Intel and Microsoft are sometimes referred to as the four horsemen of the 1990s tech boom. But we can’t ignore Apple and Google and there were many more that benefited. The smaller, new, Initial Public Offering companies came to the fore with incredibly high returns in the second half of the 1990s. The chart to the right shows how stock markets performed during the 1990’s high-tech boom. A few things are worth noting: (1) The Dot.Com stock market cycle lasted a long t time. Essentially, more than the decade of the 1990s. It’s length reflected the importance of the fundamental changes taking place. (2) There was an important development regarding the stock market that has become part of the stock market legend. On December 5, 1996, Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan in a televised speech used the term “irrational exuberance” to describe a stock market that he thought was highly speculative and overvalued. His comment was intended as a warning from the Fed that the stock market, driven by the high-tech developments described above, was overvalued. His timing was five years early which is a lifetime in the stock market. (3) The five years after Greenspan’s “irrational exuberance” statement was the most profitable for investors of the entire ten years plus of the stock market cycle. As you sit reading this brief, imagine your life without a cell phone, the Internet, e-mail and text messages. How different would your life be without just these four products that emerged from the 1990s. A more relevant question might be how different would your life be if you had purchased shares in Apple or Cisco or Dell or Google or Microsoft back then? B. The Artificial Intelligence Boom (AI): The term Artificial Intelligence was created in 1955. The idea was to have a machine that could take data, and find patterns that would enable it to make predictions and reach conclusions (make decisions). The Oxford Dictionary defines AI as “The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.” It was Moore’s Law in 1975 that stated the capacity of semiconductors would continue to double every two years which enabled computers to be able to put into practice the AI Boom that is taking place today. Current forecasts say the AI industry will grow to $900 billion by 2026 and $15.7 trillion by 2030. AI growth in the 1920s could dwarf anything high-tech was able to accomplish in the 1990s. (1) There is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) boom going on and many people don’t yet realize it is even happening. AI is used in: i. Self-driving and parking cars. AI is used by Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, Toyota and Volvo. ii. Maps and navigation. Enter where you are and where you want to go by car and Google Maps, for example, will give you a choice of routes, the time optimal route taking into account construction and traffic. iii. Facial detection or recognition. Facial detection identifies a human face or facial recognition that identifies a specific face that can be used for surveillance and security. iv. Digital assistants such as Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri, Google’s Now and Microsoft’s Cortana. When combined with search and recommendation AI, Alexa or Siri is able to learn your preferences and recommend things you are interested in. v. Customer service chatbots that answer frequently asked questions, track orders or direct calls. Often people will be unaware they are dealing with a machine. vi. Vehicle recognition use computer vision and deep learning to find a specific car on a surveillance video. vii. Robot vacuums can scan a living area, look for and remember objects in the way, remember the best route for cleaning the area and decide how many times it should repeat cleaning a specific area. It is estimated that by 2030, between 400 and 800 million jobs will be displaced by Artificial Intelligence and 375 million people will have to change to a totally different type of work. It is also forecast that it is not just lower-paying, blue-collar jobs that will be replaced by AI. Jobs such as accountants, lawyers, doctors, investment advisors and portfolio managers might all be substantially eliminated. AI will impact all industries and the rate of change will be exponential, that is, the rate of change will accelerate. For example, what does a doctor do? In general, a doctor gathers new information, refers to a patient’s medical history, refers to a medical book or today’s Internet, makes a diagnosis and provides s treatment. This is also what a lawyer does. AI might reach the point where it can do it faster and better than a human.. AI does present threats to human existence. As AI is changing exponentially, it will happen faster than the technology boom of the 1990s. It took technology 20 years to produce the changes we discussed above. AI could produce equivalent changes in 10 or 15 years. For example, ChatGPT, an AI product went from zero to 100 million users within months making it the fastest-growing consumer software product in history. There will be others. (2) The AI shift could drive economic change and a stock market cycle at least as significant as the last “dot.com” cycle. The “go-to” companies today for participation in AI are the likes of Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), Meta (NASDAQ: META), Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Oracle (NYSE: ORCL). These are very large companies. GOOGL has a market cap of $1.6 trillion, AMZN has a market cap of $1.2 trillion, META has a market cap of $$648 billion, MSFT has a market cap of $2.4 trillion, NCDA has a market cap of $963 billion and ORCL has a market cap of $282 billion. (3) While these are excellent businesses, they are also amongst the world’s largest companies. In 2022, GOOGL, META and MSFT purchased 2 out of every 3 AI chips. In my opinion, it is almost unthinkable that GOOGL can be a ten-bagger from a base market cap of $1.6 trillion or AMZN from $1.2 trillion. But it is clear these stocks now have a major component of their value derived from involvement in Artificial Intelligence and it is not surprising that early adopters would choose a lower risk/lower return approach to gain exposure to an emerging Artificial Intelligence industry. (4) The changes created by AI also carry some risks. The speed of change will be challenging to human beings. There are forecasts that say one in four workers globally will see their jobs disappear and one in eight workers will have to be retrained in a totally unrelated field. During the industrial revolution and the tech boom, there was always the promise of more and better jobs. With AI we may have reached the point where machines actually do replace workers. (5) Cathie Wood is a well-known and widely followed money manager with a reputation for expertise in the Artificial Intelligence sector. Wood manages a range of portfolios including the ARK Innovation Exchange Traded Fund (ARKK) and since its founding in 2014, Bloomberg estimates NDVA has contributed 13% of the fund’s 112% total return only behind Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, Invitae Corp and Tesla. That is all positive but Wood sold the ARKK holding in NVDA in January 2023 just before it rallied strongly adding some $560 billion to its market cap with $200 billion coming on one day after reporting earnings. Wood’s investors have basically missed the huge rally in the stock and the sector in 2023. (6) But there is another phase I would look for and that is the participation of smaller, retail investors. Whether it was in the tech cycle I discussed above, the “meme” stocks or commodity exploration and development cycles in the past, the retail investor buys in before the bull market ends. Market pundits such as Citi global asset allocation and Vanda Research make the same observation: where is the retail investor? We know the institutional investors have been getting in. So far in 2023 according to Bloomberg, the top 4% of stocks in the S&P 500 have contributed 94% of the index return and 8 of the top 20 include Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet Class A, NVIDIA, Alphabet Class C, Tesla and Meta. In other words, the top 2% of the stocks in the S&P 500 contributed 94% of the return. Through mid-May, if the AI stocks are omitted, the S&P Index would be down -1.4% instead of up +8.3%. All of these stocks are AI leaders and each of them is an institutional stock. Yet, I believe the retail investor will come into the market and when they do, it is stocks like PMED for which they have always had an appetite. C. I think investors will get more bang for their buck by investing in a small company like Predictmedix Inc. (CSE: PMED, OTCQB: PMEDF) with a total commitment to AI. From a base market cap of $16.6 million and, as I have pointed out in recent reports, many different business verticals to get them higher, I see PMED as a unique opportunity for aggressive growth investors. It is hard to imagine any decade having more of an impact on the ensuring socio-economic decades than the 1990s. Imagine your activities today without your cellphone, Internet, email and texting. I expect the cycle driven by AI to be a long one, similar to the dot-com cycle that lasted longer than the decade of the 1990s. To the right is a chart published by Luke Lango’s Hypergrowth Investing. It shows the stock market in the 1990s and overlays current results. The parallels Lango sees include: • Federal Reserve’s tight money policy slowed economic growth in 1990 as it is doing currently. • In 1990, the markets were down around 20% and in 2022 stocks dropped around 25%. • In late 1990, the Fed started reducing interest rates and the markets rebounded. • In late 2022, the Fed has turned less hawkish and into 2023 has slowed the pace of interest rate increases. The markets have been recovering. • In the early 1990’s, the dot-com stock market rally began and the market would advance generally higher for the rest of the decade and into the new millennium. • Today, it is Artificial Intelligence that is pushing stocks higher and given my expectations for AI, it could stock prices higher until at least 2030. Conclusion: I believe Predictmedix Inc. (CSE: PMED, OTCQB: PMEDF) is exceptionally well positioned to participate in the upcoming boom in Artificial Intelligence. There are many different ways to describe market cycles that evolve around such drivers. Here is mine: - Accumulation: the earliest buyers tend to be larger institutions that gain the information necessary to be early adopter. I have given several statistics to show this has been happening.
- Retail Participation/Speculation: as the story gains acceptance, less experienced investors enter the market and prices begin to rise more quickly. After two to three years of combined buying by large and small investors, it is possible to identify speculative activities such as very rapid increases in a stock price or underwritings of companies based on questionable valuations. This is the next phase I see ahead for the current AI cycle.
- Distribution/Sale: At some point, toward the end of the Retail Participation/Speculation phase, some investors will begin to sell. It is popular to believe that institutional investors or “smart money” sell at this stage. During the many years, I have spent in the investment business, this is not true. Institutions can hold on to their AI stocks for far too long and end up seeing their portfolios incinerated. This is still many years away. The challenge today with a stock like PMED is not getting out; it is getting in.
- Bear Market: eventually there will be a broad sell-off of AI stocks. Some institutions will sell without regard for their impact on the market. Margin buyers will get margin calls and may be forced to sell again without regard to price. At this time, over half of the AI companies trading at that time will simply disappear. Some will be successful but remain smaller. Some will merge with another AI company. Some will be acquired. Very few will survive and become leaders in the industries. They will become the Alphabets, Amazons, Metas, Microsofts, Nvidias, and Oracles of the 2040s and 2050s.
I started out with the quote “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” So I don’t think the AI cycle of the 2020s will be the same as the high-tech cycle of the 1990s but I think it will be similar. If you agree, Predictmedix Inc. (CSE: PMED, OTCQB: PMEDF) is a stock to buy for your portfolio. submitted by Professional_Disk131 to marketpredictors [link] [comments] |

(CSE: PMED, OTCQB: PMEDF) is a stock to buy for your portfolio. submitted by Professional_Disk131 to PennyStocksCanada [link] [comments] |

Predictmedix – a great way to surf the Artificial Intelligence wave. There is a saying attributed to Mark Twain that goes, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but if often rhymes.” This means circumstances might be different but similar events often recur.
