The Teachings of the Lord God Jesus Christ

2016.03.22 19:54 The Teachings of the Lord God Jesus Christ

This is a place where Bible believing Born Again Christians of the Gospel of the Lord God Jesus Christ can speak and teach the Word of God. Mark 16:15-16) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Salvation is - Not by works, Not by righteous works, Not by deeds of the law, and Not by sight. But by Faith alone, through Grace alone, by Jesus Christ who is God alone. Titus 3:5 / Ephesians 2:8-9 / Galatians 2:16 / 2Corinthians 5:7 / 1John 5:20

2023.05.31 04:40 Raphe9000 [TOTK] Could the distant past of Tears of the Kingdom be an attempt at recontextualizing the beginning of the Downfall Timeline?

Warning that this does contain spoilers for basically all of TOTK.
So the events of the distant past of TOTK seem all over the place, as it seems to have elements from three different points in time that should not be able to coexist, that being the era of Hyrule's founding (whole first king and queen of Hyrule thing), the events of Ocarina of Time (Koume and Kotake with their names written in OOT's Hylian, Ganondorf pledging allegiance to then betraying Hyrule, Death Mountain's smoke ring, etc.), and a time well after any of the other games (with the Zonai being a dead civilization by TOTK's distant past except for 2 people but also having places made to store important armors from other games).
This has resulted in a few major theories, such as BOTW/TOTK being a soft reboot of the series that tells things as they "really happened," TOTK's distant past being well after the end of the known timeline (which I still subscribe to) as actually being history repeating itself, or that TOTK exists in its own timeline that split off from Skyward Sword.
Now, even though I don't necessarily buy the suggestion I'm about to make, I think that it could be a valid reinterpretation of the themes of each of those theories and therefore think it's worth getting out there:
What if the distant past of TOTK is actually an alternate timeline's version of Ocarina of Time, and the Imprisoning War mentioned actually is the same war that happened before the events of ALTTP. I know that, before the plot of the game was really known, people used the mention of that War as proof that this game took place in the Downfall Timeline, but it soon was made clear that the events seen in this Imprisoning War were incompatible with what we knew about Ocarina of Time. But the thing is that there are hints to Ocarina of Time all over the place, and that really makes me wonder if the intention was for us to be shown that this game does take place around the same time as OOT and does lead to the Imprisoning War that came before ALTTP.
Now, why would they do this? I think the motive is actually more clear than the evidence, for better or for worse in regards to this theory's viability. Essentially, the existence of a third branch of the timeline was necessary for ALTTP to stay a semi-direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, as the Child and Adult timelines already had their sequels in reference to OOT, so I think they just thought up the idea of a third timeline around the time of Twilight Princess that would function as a what-if scenario. However, this opened up the possibility for infinite what-if scenarios, delegitimized the Downfall Timeline, and caused massive fan backlash. Therefore, it would make sense that they would want to change the circumstances surrounding the Downfall Timeline to mitigate these problems, and the solution was to have another timeline split before Ocarina of Time, resulting in the events of Ocarina of Time being heavily altered and therefore bound to result in a completely different set of events.
So here's how I think the timeline could turn out:
Sometime before Minish Cap, maybe due to the events of Skyward Sword or even due to the Zonai, the timeline splits, and the events that lead up to Hyrule's Founding end up never happening until around the time that Ocarina of Time would normally take place. Around that time, the Zonai descend from the heavens (maybe being the descendants of the Skyloftians and maybe even a parallel to the Oocca) as a dying civilization, and one of the last two Zonai ends up founding Hyrule with a descendent of Skyward Sword Zelda. Then the events of this alternate OOT happen and without a Link and Zelda native to that time because Zelda's time traveling is in a closed loop, making her the Zelda of that era and to an extent TOTK Link the Link of that era, and it ends with Ganondorf being sealed by the sages in what's known as the Imprisoning War. With Hyrule now in ruins, its regents dead, and monsters everywhere, most races end up fleeing until an era of prosperity far in the future, with only some of the Zora staying. Over time, Ganondorf's hatred begins to build up, and that results in the Ganon we see in ALTTP, who seeks out an opening to the Sacred Realm created by his followers and comes to possess the Triforce.
After that, the events of the Downfall Timeline take place as usual, with the Ganon in Zelda 1 actually being another manifestation of Ganondorf's hatred (and while still intelligent, probably not truly the conscious Ganondorf we see in TOTK, just like how Zelda as a Dragon acts as Zelda despite her describing her experience as like being asleep). These manifestations start out no different from monsters and bosses (also why we don't see Ganondorf in his human form in the Downfall Timeline), looking no more like Gloom or Malice than your average Bokoblin or Colgera would, but his hatred begins to fester over time, creating a much more raw manifestation of Ganon composed of pure Malice (and I think even normal looking bosses of TOTK are in part made of Malice, as they explode in something distinctly more magenta than Gloom when killed), but the major advacements of the Sheikah put an end to him alongside the Zelda of that period and a Link who wore the Zonai equivalent to the Fused Shadow and became a Zonai deity akin to the Fierce Deity, causing Ganondorf to have to wait to create enough Malice to actually be able to defeat Hyrule even with the Divine Beasts. From there, the events of BOTW play out.
Now, I think that still requires quite a bit of handwaving to justify, and I can't say I buy it more than the history repeating theory (especially since the only reasonable explanation for things like the other Link and Ganondorf items would have to be time travel shenanigans, maybe at most being justified by making the Zonai from the future of another timeline or even there being an earlier Sage of Time with different powers), but I do think that it's worth at least getting out there.

2023.05.31 04:35 Trick-Ordinary8393 trip report 9 days/8 nights Tokyo Nikko Kyoto Osaka Nara

Because I learned so much from reading other itinerary/trip reports here, I wanted to share our experience.
Beforehand: AT&T – signed up for international day pass which meant $10/day for first person on the plan and $5/day for the others, for the first 10 days of each month or maybe billing cycle. Worked well and allowed us to split up when needed. Bought Tokyo Metro Pass (about $11/day, well worth it for us for 3 days) and JR pass on line from Klook prior to trip in time for them to mail the JR pass voucher to my home. We also bought a limousine airport bus ticket ahead of time from Klook but see below. Picked up Tokyo Metro Pass by showing QR code to the machine at metro station (instant and easy) and went to Shinjuku JR station to pick up JR passes (show passports, ok to pick up passes days before you want them activated) in person and make seat reservations for the long shinkansen trips and for the Tobu Nikko trip (paid the extra fee to Tobu staff when we arrived in Nikko). It was helpful to have determined exactly which train we wanted seat reservations for (train number, time, and date) beforehand. Ask for Mt. Fuji side if going Tokyo to Osaka/Kyoto. JapanTravel app is great for checking train times. Do give yourself enough time to transfer – the app will give you 10 minutes, say, to transfer from metro to JR trains and given the size of the stations and having to swipe in and out of the stations, and being confused about where to go, you probably need more time. If you have an iPhone, add virtual Suica card to your wallet. Was incredibly easy to use and saved us from having to top up at kiosks or buy tickets. Used it to grab drinks from machines, at 7-11, etc. But, it was a little tricky to set up for some of us – you may have to try Amex or Mastercard if Visa doesn’t work. Once, it didn’t work the first day but worked the second day when we tried again, so definitely do this at least a few days prior to the trip. Get some cash and plan to stop at ATMs (we used 7-11) often because cash is king there. We did not make any reservations so that we could be flexible with our plans. All the food was excellent and we rarely waited long (we would just look for another place if a line was long). Of course, do the visit Japan web website at least 3 days prior to the trip and get your QR codes for customs and immigration. Screenshot these as well. If you can keep yourself to a carry on size bag, it will make finding lockers and taking the shinkansen much easier. Break in those shoes. We walked 11-12 miles every day.
Tokyo for <= 3 days. We stayed in Shinjuku and tried to cluster our activities when we could: Northeast: Kappabashi street to check out the beautiful knives and kitchenware, and buy some lovely chopsticks Asakusa Shrine: beautiful but we did not go in because we were there for the Sanja Matsuri festival; crowded but a lot of fun watching the golden shrines bounced up and down the street, and we still got to sample foods from the food stalls. Thought about returning for evening, but never made it there. Akihabara: this was on my if-we-have-extra-time list; so glad we made it because it was a real highlight. Playing retro arcade games (Super Potato Retro shop), watching the real pros compete in the huge multistory gaming center buildings; walked over the Owl Café but should have made reservations a week before if we had wanted to go. Went to a bonsai market garden center in Ueno which was kind of interesting. Ochanomizu Gakkitengai for guitars and other musical instruments. Didn’t do SkyTree, did go to Ameyoko market which I thought was just ok. East: Fukagawa Fudo-do Temple: Goma Ritual, drumming, prayers, fire; service lasts about 30 minutes. Take a look around the temple’s other rooms also. Multiple times daily. Hat Coffee: we did not go but I’d have loved to see the 3D lattes Southeast: Tsukiji outer market (we had a Klook voucher for limousine bus tickets to take us right to the hotel to drop off our bags, but we got through immigration quickly and waited around until 6 am when the ticket counter was supposed to open, but it didn’t open and the info desk told us it wouldn’t open for another hour, plus first bus wasn’t until 7:30 am– so rather than waiting around the airport for hours, we ended up going straight to the market on the monorail and the metro using our Suica card, getting there at 6:20 am). It might sound early, but we had such a wonderful visit to the market at 6:20 am, dropping our bags in a locker at the metro (some take coins but we found ones that took our Suica (virtual Suica was in our Apple wallet); there are also lockers at Plat Tsukiji). Enjoyed the market and excellent coffee at Yonemoto, then lined up at 8:30 for wonderful meal at Tsukiji Koromo Sushi. Fantastic experience being able to look closely at everything at the market and make our purchases. By the time we left breakfast, though, it was wall to wall people, long lines, too crowded to really check out the stalls, and a much different experience. We were glad we had gone early. We even came back (at 7 am) two days later to enjoy more food stalls and sample the fatty tuna at Maguroya Kurogin (worth it despite the line). West: Shibuya 109: go downstairs to food area and find the whipped cream vending machine next to the escalator. Bring cash! Shibuya Sky: we did not have tickets and they were sold out, but during the day we went to the floor below and walked through the art gallery to have a beautiful view of the scramble crossing. At night, we went one floor below that to a lounge to take in the free view. Everywhere: Don Quijote; bought all the candy. Very fun running around trying to determine what was in each package. Thankful for Google Translate. Walked through beautiful Yoyogi Park to the Meiji-jingu Shrine. Saw some of a wedding ceremony. Beautiful. Then walked through Harajuku which was crowded and lively. Didn’t really see eccentric clothes and fashion, but lots of restaurants and snacks and fun resale shops. Did not get to Shibuya Nonbei Yokocho. Did stop in at Omoide Yokocho in Shinjuku and enjoy an early drink; would recommend getting there early since was already packed. Also lots of smoking in the izakayas, which made it less enjoyable for us. Enjoyed a walk through Golden Gai also. There are many areas of Shinjuku other than these for nightlife and restaurants. If there is a long line, go elsewhere. So much excellent food. If you like electronics, check out the 11 buildings of Yodabashi camera. Also ate at Uobei Shibuya for fast fun conveyer belt sushi. Line moved quickly. Great value too.
Then we took the Tobu Nikko line to Nikko (direct from Shinjuku so saved time and transfers with our bags). Cost a little more since JR pass didn’t cover fully. You could just take JR but there were more connections. Checked into Ryokan Nikko Hoshinoyado. Enjoyed Kanmangafuchi Abyss and the Toshugu shrines (buy tickets at the train station to avoid the lines at the shrine). Highly recommend this ryokan. Great public onsen (not busy, mostly empty, indoor and outdoor options) and phenomenal dinner. Surprised by wonderful breakfast also. After one night, metro and shinkansen to Kyoto (nice view of Mt. Fuji; enjoyed an ekiben on the train that we got at Tokyo station).
In Kyoto, walked Gion/Shimbashi street and had dinner at Pontocho first night. Many maiko sightings from across from the Ichiriki Tea House as dusk fell. Second day got 7 am start to be at Arashiyama bamboo grove early (peaceful) and then over to Golden Pavilion by 9 when it opened. Still very crowded, but fun and beautiful. We took cabs to the bamboo grove (30 minutes instead of 60) and then over to the Golden Pavilion because buses required connections and much longer travel time when we were trying to beat the crowds. After those two cabs, we just took buses around. Went to monkey park which was great and the had obanzai lunch at Gyatei (upstairs on the left, excellent) followed by walk to Gio-Ji temple (moss garden) and then through the Okochi Sanso Villa; then walked around the Arashiyama shopping streets. If you do the bamboo grove very early, be aware that all of the temples on that beautiful historic street nearby are closed that early. Nishiki market then dinner in Pontocho. Third day, started at Kiyomizu-Dera (check out Tainai-meguri, a symbolic womb of a female bodhisattva – we were pressed for time and the next schedule wasn’t for 30 minutes so we couldn’t stay), walked down Ninen-zaka and sannen-Zaka streets and then bus over to lunch at Izusen for shojin-ryori (you could get reservations, but we just got there early and were lucky to get in) and a walk around Daitokuji temple complex. There is a wonderful new zen bonsai garden in the Hoshun-in sub temple. Staff at other sub temples told us that that garden wasn’t open but when we got there it was. Check Instagram for opening times. After another visit to Nishiki market, we walked the Fushimi Inari Shrine into the evening and then back to Pontocho for dinner.
Train to Osaka. Went straight to Okonomiyaki Chitose which was excellent and a bit away from the main food areas; tried to get there for 11 am but went the wrong direction on the shinkansen rushing to the unreserved cars ((at the front of the shinkansens, by the way, usually cars 1-3 or similar). Also be aware of what platform to be at, but also that you are getting on the correct train. We almost took a 10:01 train when we should have waited for the 10:03 train at the same platform. Similarly, you might find that the JapanTransit app asks you to get off on platform 16 and then get on a train at that same moment at platform 16. Do it — it is asking you to go from an express to a local train). Because we didn’t arrive until 11:45, we were in an hour long line to get in. It was excellent though. Spent the rest of the day at Don Quijote and all of the many endless food and shopping streets near Namba and ended at Dotonbori. Conveyer belt sushi close to the river but upstairs so harder to find – surprisingly not crowded when the other places on the river were all mobbed.
Next day train to Nara, a few hours there exploring the Daibutsuden Hall and Todaiji temple and feeding the bowing deer, fantastic lunch at izakaya なら酒蔵なべ At 34-1 Imamikadocho, Nara, and then to Kyoto for the shinkansen to Tokyo for the airport.

2023.05.31 04:13 Yellow_IMR HP isn't ALWAYS better than EM (I did some calcs...)

HP isn't ALWAYS better than EM (I did some calcs...)
TL;DR HP% is almost always better than EM and by a lot too, but in some niche and non-meta scenarios that might not be true: it depends on how many blooms Nilou owns. 4pc FloP can occasionally be better than 2pc HP combinations in some niche scenarios.

How much EM Nilou should prioritize over HP% depending on her bloom ownership

Current perception

The current common stance on the EM vs HP question for building bloom Nilou can be summed up as the following:
If HP < 74445, HP >>> EM
If HP ≥ 74445, EM >>> HP
Basically, until you reach the ~74.4k HP threshold from Nilou's A4, HP is king, but after that it becomes essentially useless. This stands true also in relation to the Flower of Paradis Lost 4pc effect, which gives Nilou up to 80% Reaction Bonus: if you can't reach the HP threshold, you shouldn't commit to the FloP set. By the way, all this headache doesn't even regard most Nilou players: currently, unless you have Key of Khaj-Nisut, you can't reach the HP threshold, which means that HP should always be prioritized anyway. Even flat HP, usually considered the most painful stat you can get after flat DEF, is still worth roughly the same as EM for bloom Nilou or a bit less.
Even though some players still commit to the FloP set for the aesthetics before fulfilling the HP requirements, that is the most shared opinion about the matter and it stands true for the most relevant teams and scenarios... but what about less common scenarios? I've wanted to write this post for some time already, but what drove me to do it now is the recent flourishing of non-meta and suboptimal teams after Nilou's 2nd rerun and the current release of the new, funny 4 star dendro kitty Kirara, who introduced a new popular and suboptimal bloom playstyle with her hilarious box form, loved by a lot of players. It's time to bring some light on the true details of the relationship between EM and HP in bloom Nilou.

Relevance of EM and HP in Bloom damage

The transformative reaction formula, curtesy of KQM, says:
TransformativeReactions = ReactionMultiplier × LevelMultiplier × EnemyResistanceMultiplier × (1 + EMMultiplier + ReactionBonus)
The EM Multiplier (from now on, "EMM") depends on the EM of the trigger and is 16 × EM / (2000 + EM). "ReactionBonus" actually includes all the Reaction Bonuses the trigger has, summed together, like Nilou's A4 or the FloP's 4pc effect or Baizhu's A4: EMM and the other Bonuses are additive with each other.
If you analyze the EMM formula, you can see that EM has diminishing returns: the more you get, the less EMM increases, so EM loses effectiveness the higher it goes. This is not true for Nilou's A4: every HP directly translates to a fixed amount of Reaction Bonus, up to a 400% cap, the one you reach when you hit 74445 HP on Nilou (mathematically it would be 74444.44... but according to some the game rounds the numbers in a way that 74445 is the effective cap). EM is still really good though: 1000 EM translates to a 533.33% Reaction Bonus (or EMM, in the end EMM is just a Reaction Bonus that comes from EM, nothing more), which is a lot more than 400%, also a F2P Nilou can usually only get up to 60k-62k HP, which correspond to 270-290% Reaction Bonus. To make you understand, with lvl.90 characters and before considering resistances, every +100% Reaction Bonus corresponds to 2893.7 bloom damage for each seed (3183 damage if the enemy has -20% Res).
What makes Nilou's A4 particularly strong is that, while you need to build EM on each of your characters to raise their EMM, Nilou's A4 gives a high Reaction Bonus to all your team and it doesn't hit diminishing returns: until you reach the cap, every single HP is worth the same and it always translates to the same amount of damage increase for every single seed your team generates. Since Nilou usually owns only a minority of blooms, even if building EM would give her a higher bonus for her blooms, HP almost always results in more team damage.

Threshold between EM and HP

...But where is the line? How many seeds has Nilou to own to make EM (and bonuses like 4pc FloP) more valuable? And since EM has diminishing returns, at what point would EM become again less valuable than HP? We can calculate it.
EM has diminishing returns (to keep things simple, for now we will put aside FloP), but not Nilou's HP: her passive says that, starting from 30k HP, the team gets a 9% Reaction Bonus for every 1k HP she builds (up to 400%), so basically 0.009% for every single HP. Since a lvl.90 Nilou has 15185 HP and an average HP% substat is 5%, every HP% substat on average translates to a 6.83% Reaction Bonus.
As said earlier, this 6.83% Reaction Bonus applies to the whole team, it affects every single seed the same way, while Nilou's EM (and so her EMM) affects only her seeds. To know if HP% beats EM, we need to find how much of an EMM increase an EM substat is and to multiply it for Nilou's bloom ownership: if the result surpasses 6.83%, HP% is worth more than EM. Since EM has diminishing returns, EM is a variable like Nilou's bloom ownership and we can put them in a function.
ΔEMM × BloomOwnership = ΔBountyReactionBonus
ΔBountyReactionBonus is Nilou's A4 Reaction Bonus increase from HP% substats. Since we already know that ΔBountyReactionBonus = 6.83%, that the EMM formula is 16 × EM / (2000 + EM) and we know that an EM substat is on average 20 EM, we can write the previous equation like this:

https://preview.redd.it/tm54tvvr843b1.png?width=1620&format=png&auto=webp&s=d092ddb68703fe8e9a8107be185e6ebc44e17777
By drawing the formula's function, we get the graph at the beginning of this post.
About FloP's 4pc effect, since the buff doesn't have diminishing returns and it equals (at max stacks) +80% Reaction Bonus and a 2pc HP set would instead provide 6.83% × 4 = 27.32% Reaction Bonus from Nilou's A4, the amount of blooms Nilou should own to make it worth it over the 2pc HP alternative is over 27.32% / 80% = 34.15%, but this is assuming that you are already in a position where having a 2pc EM over a 2pc HP is worth it, which requires more bloom ownership. Assuming that your Nilou can already reach something around 500 effective EM (to make things more simple), a 4pc FloP set (~+120% Reaction Bonus for Nilou) beats a 2pc HP combination (+54.64% Reaction Bonus for the whole team) when Nilou owns more than 54.64% / 120% = 45.53% Bloom ownership.
N.B. To make things less complicated, I did a simplification that some of you may have noticed: I assumed that Nilou already starts from 30k HP to immediately benefit from her A4. Since a 5S flower gives her 4780 HP, her ascensions give her +28.8% HP and in bloom teams she has access to hydro resonance (+25% HP), Nilou already starts by default with more than 28k HP. From there, getting to 30k only requires 2-3 substats that you are likely gonna get anyway.

Applications in bloom teams

By looking at the graph, we can clearly see that if Nilou owns all the seeds EM has priority over HP% until you hit 1050 EM, but unless she is the only hydro character it will never be the case. Unless Nilou owns ~43% of the blooms, HP% is always more important than EM, but on top of that Nilou already gets EM from some sources: 100 from her A1, 50 from dendro resonance, if you are F2P and you use Iron Sting that's another 165 for a total of 315 EM! If you have Key, it easily gives Nilou more than 400 EM, and all of this even before considering substats and other passives like Collei's C4 or DMC's A1: your Nilou already passively gets more EM than necessary to reach the threshold in almost all situations. But if we want to be more precise and analyze also extreme scenarios we need more details: we need to look at bloom ownerships.
Where do we find reliable bloom ownerships for every bloom team in every scenario? Well... nowhere lol. This is extremely complicated and there are tons of variables, honestly I don't know where you can find reliable data about it, but for the sake of drawing some more useful conclusions for you all I will provide and briefly analyse with you some ownership ratios.
If you want to know the source for the numbers I will provide, this is my source.
Jokes aside, remember that the following numbers are very rough, they might not be accurate, I haven't done extensive research or analysis to back them up, there are a lot of variables etc: this post wasn't meant to be about such a heavy topic like bloom ownerships and it would require way more work and resources, I won't do something like that, but I guess I can try doing some estimates, feel free to correct me if you notice something wrong.

  • Kokomi - Nahida - Collei (Kokomi on field)
I think Nilou would own roughly 25% of the seeds against two enemies and up to 40-45% against three enemies, thanks to the way her ring can stagger its application when entering into contact with a group of enemies at slightly different moments. Kokomi should always be the main trigger, owning more than 60% of the seeds against 2 enemies and down to around 50% against three. I won't consider more enemies since the amount of potential variables makes estimates less and less reliable, also the enemies would be generally more squishy when that's the case and would die extremely fast to frontload, where Kokomi is the one triggering the most blooms anyway. With that ownership, Nilou already passively has way more EM than necessary, confirming the importance of prioritizing HP%.

  • Yaoyao - Yelan - Nahida (Yaoyao on field)
For the ones interested, I have a guide on this team. Against two enemies I think Nilou would usually own around 30-35% (Yelan 50%), against three enemies Nilou 35-40% and Yelan maybe around 45%. Even here, Nilou's EM needs should be easily covered even while building HP.
Other common teams should look more or less like that.
As you can see, Nilou usually has all the EM she needs to prioritize HP: if we take a look at jamie's soft goals, he suggests 345 EM for a F2P Iron Sting bloom Nilou. With other 150 EM from dendro resonance and Nilou's A1, it's already almost 500 EM and you might still have other buffs. Using my graph, it corresponds to the EM threshold for a 67% bloom ownership: way way way more than what she usually owns, not even close.

  • Kirara - Kokomi - Nahida (Kirara on field, box form)
This team is clearly suboptimal and the main reason it's played is just because it's extremely hilarious, which is something that I totally approve. I'm not sure of what an "optimal" rotation would be, but I think that against three or more enemies Nilou's ownership might go up to around 65%, which in the graph roughly corresponds to the amount of EM that a nicely built Nilou should have anyway: HP should be prioritized, but a 4pc FloP set would be better than a 2pc HP combination. I'm not sure of how to calculate Barbara's application in place of Kokomi in this same team: her ring is quite complex, on paper it applies hydro once every 5 seconds (an eternity), but in practice it has a special property that makes it tick when it interacts with entities that can have an aura, applying hydro according to standard ICD. For this reason I don't want to attempt estimates with her in the team, positioning introduces way too many variables and I don't feel I fully understand her ring. If I will ever do some testings on my own I will update this section.
I think there's one archetype that should be absolutely discussed and that's actually relevant for this post.

  • Nilou ON FIELD
Yep... I think that's the most relevant one. A lot of players like to play Nilou on field, but a very few actually care about providing data to optimize this playstyle and, on top of that, the recent introduction of Baizhu made viable more variants of this team: you can now safely use as 2nd hydro Xingqiu, Yelan, even a burst bot Ayato if you really want to, Baizhu makes it possible. Other options are Kokomi, Barbara and if you are crazy enough even Candace. There's a lot to cover, way more than what I can right now and I lack too much data, but there's a specific build that I want to discuss: Nilou on field with Sacrificial Sword. If you play Nilou on field, I think that the extra hydro application made possible by Sac Sword is crucial to generate a lot more blooms, roughly doubling her hydro application potential. I'm not sure of how it compares to Key, too many variables and a lot of things to consider (if I ever work on it, I will edit this section), but if you use Sac Sword, then there are two important considerations to make: your hydro application goes up a lot while your EM sources go down, since you are not using a weapon that provides EM anymore. With that much hydro application and no Barbara or Kokomi on field to compete with Nilou, I think it's reasonable that Nilou might reach a 70% bloom ownership depending on her teammates and the scenario. Even if she stays only around 65%, since you are not using Iron Sting nor Key nor another EM weapon you might easily find yourself below the red line, so that might be the most common scenario for most Nilou lovers where EM, exceptionally, becomes more important than HP, at least until you reach the threshold again (with 65-70% ownership it's 460-550 EM). Of course, with that much ownership, a 4pc FloP set would beat a 2pc HP combination.

And that's it! As you could see especially in the last part, there's still a lot to consider and I might come back to this post adding more details and information if I ever do more research and testing (or someone else does, feel free to update and correct me). This post isn't really that much relevant for those who play more conventional teams, especially meta, but it might be useful for those who want to optimize more niche teams where Nilou's ownership becomes more relevant. More research has to be done about Nilou on field, unfortunately I lack characters like Baizhu, Kokomi and Candace so I can't test those, but who knows, anyway I will update the post if I have more to say. Feel free to correct me or provide more data.
Bye :3

2023.05.31 04:07 hinode_hime (F4A playing M) A variety of cravings inside!

hello there everyone ❤
my name's hinode and i'm looking to get back into roleplaying and flexing my creative muscles!
ヽ(*´∀`)ノ゙ i've had to take an extensive hiatus due to some issues in my personal live but i've been seriously craving a good, relaxing, and simply enjoyable story to create with someone. i have a few ideas that have been floating around in my mind, but please let me know if there's anything else you might be interested in! i like a wide variety of anime, manga, videogames, genres, etc so feel free to communicate with me!
who am i as your potential writing partner?
-- i'm in my mid-twenties and would only feel comfortable writing with someone who is eighteen or older, preferably twenty or older.
-- i'm fully aware of my grammar and lack of capitalization! i just thinks it looks pretty to use all lower case + i'm lazy with my grammar rn :3 in character i can promise i'm a fully capable writer
-- i've seen the phrase 'lazy-lit' thrown around the roleplaying community and i would have to categorize myself with this group! i can promise at least one post a week and said post is typically around four to five paragraphs. i've been roleplaying for about fourteen years and i'm not too interested in novella style, so i firmly believe in quality>quantity.
-- i'm also huge on working together collaboratively to create something cool -- whether that be gushing about headcanons, creating pinterest boards, or sending inspirational songs. some of the best parts of roleplaying is sharing an experience with someone else (ㅅ´ ˘ `)♡
-- i will not harass you for a reply or get upset if you take a leave of absence or ghost me! life happens and i'll never hold a grudge. all i ask if you do the same <3
some of my plots/cravings!
-- the princess and her pitbull: my character is a princess, the only child to the king and queen of a rather large and prosperous kingdom. for most of her life, the kingdom was in a sort of 'golden era', the crops were plentiful, tension was low, war was unheard of, and the people were generally happy. because of this, and the doting of her parents, my character is rather sheltered and innocent — sweet and naive. blind to the horrors of humanity (and monsters, should we choose to go down that path.) however, as she grew older...the king's greed grew as well. A sense of malevolence had overtaken the King and he began committing atrocities(which we can both decide on) and the people have grown unhappy, violent, and various rebellions have had to be squashed throughout various provinces. But, of course, the sheltered princess is kept from these facts...but the anger of the people keeps growing. this is where your character comes in. he's a knight, one of the top knights in the kingdom, and had been serving on the king's guard for a few years before he was assigned a prestigious task — becoming the protector of the princess. your character has been the princess's personal guard for a few years now. accompanying her almost wherever she went, riding alongside her when traveling outside of the castle walls. shadowing her... silent like a ghost. because of his well-known reputation as a top fighter, his cutthroat fighting style, and his unwavering loyalty to the princess, the people and nobility alike often refer to him as 'the princess's pitbull'. however, behind the scenes and out of the public eye...they're best friends. they share inside jokes, and it isn't unheard of that one might prank the other. after a stuffy dinner with elites, he might have her in a giggling fit as he mocks and imitates the rich nobles. she might have him chuckling when she pretends to be a powerful and frightening knight — frilly dress and all. and this, of course, would potentially lead to romance between a rather forbidden duo. and the plot could branch from here! we could deal with 'arranged marriages' and potential suitors visiting. as well as the potential of a full-blown rebellion taking place. what if they seize the castle? will the knight escape with the princess in time? what will become of them, living life on the run?
-- naruto: so fair warning! i have NOT finished the anime or manga! i'm currently watching shippuden and am still relatively in the early part of the series. however, i love naruto and would absolutely love to roleplay a plot in the ninja world :3 i'm 1000% fine with spoilers and, honestly, i've probably had almost all of the series spoiled for me already anyways hehe. i would like romance to be a focal point alongside the action, drama, angst, and fluff that comes along with what you envision naruto to be. i have an OC that i've been brewing -- a female hyuga who actually tends to show personality traits and a demeanor that isn't typically seen in a hyuga, especially a female one. if you're interested please let me know and we can get to planning! also i think it's fair to mention that i don't mind if our characters are powerful and strong -- i think i'd prefer to just have lots of fun ^3^
-- avatar, the last airbender: i will always and forever cherish the ATLA series and hold it close tomy heart. which, in my later years especially, has made me come to the conclusion that it's absolute sacrilege that i've never done a proper avatar roleplay. truly heartbreaking, i must admit. i would really love for this to have a nice balance between romance and adventure and i'll be the first to admit that i'm a huge fan of 'opposites attract' dynamics. ESPECIALLY firebender x waterbender - that is absolutely my bread and butter. we would have to discuss what time period this would take place in as well as motivations and overall plotline for our characters. maybe one is an avatar? we'll see! i'd also really love to draw inspiration from the spiritual side of this show as well, especially considering it's full of spiritual references.
-- harry potter: character A(the character whom i will play) is muggle-born and completely dumb-founded by the magical world — all this 'magic business' were things she had only seen on television or read in books. this spurred on her love for magic, a world she only imagined in their dreams. despite her passion for magic, she's not particularly gifted and left in the shadow of their peers. however, her warm personality spoke for itself. well loved and openly friendly, character A didn't mind her lack of magical prowess. being a hufflepuff was a surprise to no one. character B is as pureblooded as they come, from a long line of powerful and successful witches and wizards that were proud to be 100% pureblooded. maybe sometimes a little too proud. it was only natural that character B would be placed in the house that they were(slytherin or ravenclaw, up to you!). though they felt an inexplicable pull to one another, catching eachothers glances from a far, character B and character A never quite interacted. that is, until one year they were placed in the same classes and clicked almost instantly. however, at the end of sixth year and beginning of seventh, blood feuds began brewing and an intense prejudice against muggle borns began bubbling to the surface. as time moves on, perhaps it even grows violent. maybe even deadly. will these two characters withstand the prejudice? will character B choose the love of character A over their prejudiced family?
-- shoujo/anime setting: okay so i definitely don't have a plot in mind but i would really really love to come up with something with a partner that would fit the 'shoujo' theme! something set in japan with heavy inspiration from anime. this could be a very light-hearted plot or one that's rather dark and angsty, i would just like romance to be involved. some inspirations include anything created by studio ghibli, kamisama kiss, orange, ao haru ride, inuyasha, fruits basket, lovely complex, beyond the boundary, etc!

2023.05.31 03:59 The_Pale_Hound Is it cheating/unfair to play with a phyisical board?

Hi, I play 1510 on chess.com and recently I started setting up the board to plan my moves because it's easier to do it there than in my mind. I also set it from the oponent perspective and that has saved me of several sniperbishops and forknights. I have 100% winrate with the board and like 47% without it. It clearly gives me an advantage over the other player. Would you consider it unfair?

2023.05.31 03:57 Human_Engineering_37 Super secret tip to clear great rift

Don't die
Sounds stupid I know, but let me guess you're normal run: You invest all you're relic slots and money to buy a full king god set, then you sweep through the early floors with you're tanks and mages dying constantly not getting exp from the battle
By the time your enemies are on tier 6 (2gold star) you're starting archer class hero is already platinum
But on the boss battle you're low lvl tanks and mages get one shot from the bosses aoe and your main hero gets CC'ed to death
This can all be fixed IF YOU DIDN'T DIE A party that's all the same lvl as the boss can sweep 3 times out of 10 Seems like a little but remember, your current strategy is 0/10 so maybe holf off judging before you try it. I'm not telling you to stop buffing your main dmg dealer, but take some lower lvl resourses and invest them on your tanks

2023.05.31 03:53 mcdmatt40 Is investing in gruntworksmc.com a scam?

A friend if a friend sent me this text:
Gruntworks
Got a huge investment opportunity that can be really lucrative if you yourself want to invest or you know anyone who may. If you set me up with an investor you can collect 2% profits for as long as they’re in the cycle.
A rare opportunity with a meat and livestock company. The model is direct to consumer so it cuts out grocery stores and all that. Since it’s so competitive the plan is to get bought out by the monopoly within 5 years. So we have 5 years to play, jump in and make a bunch of money.
10 cents of every pound goes to veterans
https://gruntworksmc.com
Started 9 months ago just got fully funded. They offered a higher % return on investment originally but now that they’re fully funded it’s lower and will very likely continue to reduce from here as we fill with investors and cattle.
There’s an opportunity where an investor can buy cattle for the company @3k each. The turn around is 60 days, 15% return. You can maintain the cycle and stay in and keep producing $. Your 3k gets paid back in 60 days +15% and that’s up to however many cows you buy, up to 50.
Staying in the cycle a full year will net 90% ROI 12 months, 15% every 2 months x6=90%
They also will take cash or crypto making it even easier to access for many. It’s all on contract and all of the cows are insured from everything, from mad cow disease to flooding and fires. Only thing they aren’t insured for is getting up and walking away which ain’t happening.
If you were to be investing serious amounts we can fly down to the facility in FL and you can see everything. Cows you purchase will have a tag showing it “belongs” to you. You can track em and shit. Super legit and modern operation
If we get in, we can stay in on the 60 day cycle and keep turning over the $ repeatedly, they’d even prefer it but you can pull out of any cycle.
There’s a 150k limit per individual investor because each section of barns holds up to 50 cows and that’s all they will allow 1 person to invest
We can also help broker selling meat to grocers and places like that. We would only make a few cents per pound but that can add up a ton the amount they buy. They may not be offering that much longer either as they’re starting to sell direct to consumer online so the numbers have to be right for them to work with a grocer.
They are already working in with king kullen in NY but don’t have Kroger.

Pysanyi Kamin, the Written Stone

Pysanyi Kamin
Some feel that the Carpathians are an enchanted land... those green mountains overgrown with deep ancient forest and shrouded in blue mist do hide many legends, tragic love stories and supernatural forces. Some Ukrainians believe that the Devil created these mountains by punching the crust of the earth after God trapped him in the underworld. Others are convinced that only on a wintry mountaintop lake in the Carpathians can destructive hail be created.
While we may never get conclusive scientific evidence that hail is created there, we can see some other mystical but down to earth wonders, like Pysanyi Kamin in the Verkhovyna area of Ivano-Frankivsk' Oblast near the town of Bukovets. In English, Pysanyi Kamin means “Written Stone” - just like how Pysanka means "with writing".
The side of the stones.
Near the top on the path side.
Pysanyi Kamin is a formation of huge stone blocks, most of which are spread out along a high ridge, one hundred meters long and ten meters high. While this is not exactly the most dramatic rock formation even nearby in the Ukrainian Carpathians (for instance, The Gorgany Range or Tustan Cliff Fortress) - let alone Europe - they really do create quite a mystical and monumental feeling when you visit. From a distance as you approach, it resembles something like a truncated pyramid. Someone with a more lyrical soul might observe an armored beast napping at the top of the mountain.
This is a very famous place in Ukraine and is known for its wild beauty and almost magnetic ambiance. It is a very popular tourist destination, and the path is on the easier side as far as hiking goes. When you make it to the Pysanyi Kamin, an amazing view is laid out before you in emerald rolling hills.

Letters from the Past

Two of the many petroglyphs; spider and spearman dated to the VIII century.
Pysanyi Kamin holds another amazing secret - one of its sides has ancient drawings (petroglyphs), thanks to which the stone received the name of Pysanyi.
Long before the modern “graffiti” (of the lowest possible effort and even lower artistic value that we hope will be addressed soon) appeared on the stones, mysterious signs were hewn into the rock: multi-armed crosses, circles, rhombuses, schematic figures of people. They are clearly visible in the oblique rays of the sun - at dawn or when it sets. At other times of the day, the signs are lost among the standard modern inscriptions.
\"Bowls\" and writing, some of which is (regrettably... so regrettably) modern and some of which is ancient.
I read that Bohdan Tomenchuk, archaeologist, associate professor of the Carpathian National University, says that the petroglyphs date back to different eras and may belong to pagan culture and the era of early Christianity. What the ancient inhabitants of the mountains tried to tell us is currently unknown.
There is a well-founded theory that Pysanyi Kamin was a place of ancient pre-Christian sacred temples, with evidence of nine round “bowls” cut in stone, evoking other near-identical creations on other rocky peaks of the Carpathian mountains in Ukraine. The bottom of some of them has signs of long-extinguished fires. Between the "bowls" and around them are mysterious petroglyphs. Stone walls also bear clear signs of depressions and distinct traces of hollowing made with sharp objects.

Close to the Sky

Reflection.
Local folks will tell you many legends surrounding the Pysanyi Kamin. The most prevalent is that the stone structure is a resting place of an ancient mage who led the local people to become the nation that they are today.
Once upon a time, when the primordial waters finally receded and the Carpathians were just starting to rise from the earth, people emerged from the water. They grew tall with the mountains, gaining strength - and soon their tribe was teeming and powerful. Their king was a mage who helped them to search for ore, forge weapons, and build ships; soon they had set out to conquer distant lands and countries. They roamed the seas and shores, founded states and wrote laws. There were no equals to them neither on the battlefield, nor in conversation, nor in love.
And before his death, the mage urged them to continue collecting treasures and knowledge, and not to needlessly spill human blood. And the people, to honor the mage for everything he had done for them, built him a magnificent tomb close to the sky.

One day closer to victory.

2023.05.31 03:45 WinesburgOhio Most iconic playoff moments and games in NBA history (about 100 of them)

I'm trying to list the most iconic or memorable playoff moments in NBA history. I didn't include series/championship-deciding injuries (too many) or great games by legends if their performance hasn't lived on as an iconic game (again, too many). There are a few recent ones, so we'll see if they stand the test of time. Although many of the older ones are unknown to most fans today, they were either big stories back then and/or known to most hoops historians now. Please let me know of any I may be missing.

Petrovs Defence : Cochrane Gambit
g6 prepares a fianchetto. Black will leave the e file open and builds another kind of defence with the bishop on g7. But we may wonder if this will resist a White pawn advance on the king side. Most games have continued with the natural developing move, Nc3.

Adams Defence

The Adams Defense is considered a weak response to the King's Pawn Opening, as it develops the Knight to an inferior square , allows White quick and easy development, and opens no lines for developing Black's pieces. Therefore, the Adams Defense is very uncommon.
