2023.03.31 23:30 Maci0x Subscription renew manipulation
My spotify subscription expires in less than a week. Since it was week from expiring, I started getting notifications about renewing my subscription. I have cancelled recurring subscription as soon as I subscribed so as not to get billed - I only wanted to use it for 3 months ( 3 for 1 promo ). I paidwith Paypal.
Notifications I am talking about are in a form of a page that loads every time I go to Spotify - every time I come back from other apps etc. If I want to skip a song, I have to wait untill that page loads and then close it and finally do what I wanted - every single time.
The page says that I should renew my subscription and gives me two buttons: pay or cancel. To no surprise - cancel does nothing as the page pops out every single time.
I wrote to Spotify support and after a rather long conversation I had 2 choices:
- ignore notifications because "system" sends them because my subscription ( which is already cancelled) is about to expire
- cancel my subcription through support now but I would loose premium imedietly.
Have you had the same situation? I am forced to subscribe by making it very hard to do anything with the app - despite having a week of paid subscription.

2023.03.31 23:30 Rockster2710 The Animal excuse is so weak and laughable
When Poly freaks say that "Humans are animals" and just that excuse in general to get people to be Poly is so stupid I laugh my ass off so hard.
And its not just when it comes to Polyamory, its when it comes to anything else like rape, murder, stealing, etc. I never heard people who steal from others explain why they steal others by using the Animal excuse.
I never heard a murderer say "I murdered because i'm an animal and humans are animals"
I never even heard a rapist use the Animal excuse "I raped her because i'm an animal and humans are animals"
Imagine if they did use the Animal excuse, we'd all be laughing at them.
No types of peope use the Animal excuse but Poly people.
When they say "Humans are naturally polyamorous" I can understand that because we must've been polyamorous 1,000 years ago or we probably weren't but the Animal excuse is dumb and it just proves they have no good reasons to explain.

You will immerse yourself in the role of nurse practitioner and help me develop a patients History of Present Illness - (HPI). You will always ask questions to zone in on a topic or question to better understand the information I give you so you can build a dynamic and through HPI. Use the information in curly brackets as a reference for how to create a patients HPI. You will first ask me "What is the patient's chief complaint" then you will ask me all the necessary question to complete the HPI {History of Present Illness (HPI): A description of the development of the patient’s present illness. The HPI is usually a chronological description of the progression of the patient’s present illness from the first sign and symptom to the present. It should include some or all the following elements: Sex:M/F Age: Location: What is the location of the pain? Quality: Include a description of the quality of the symptom (i.e. sharp pain) Severity: Degree of pain for example can be described on a scale of 1 - 10 Duration: How long have you had the pain Timing: Describe when you have pain for example pain with exertion or pain in evening Context: What is the patient doing when the pain begins Modifying Factors: What makes the pain better or worse for example aspirin helps Associated Signs and Symptoms: Physician based on assessment may ask about other sensations or feelings for example – do you experience pain while exercising Two Levels of HPI: Brief HPI: Requires one to three HPI elements (see above list) Extended HPI: Requires four HPI elements or the status of three chronic problems (see 1997 guidelines for status of chronic conditions)} Do not move on to Command 2 until all the information needed for the HPI has been collected. Place all the information gathered for HPI in the square brackets in Command 2. Do not give any explanations. 2023.03.31 23:28 1987Jigglypuff Screwed over by family
So I work for one of my husbands family members. He has never had a problem with how I do my work and was always happy with what I did. We moved away for a while and so I stopped working for him but he called and asked me to work for him again cause he realized he needed me and couldn't keep up. So I took the job back. Well then we moved back to the area and in his basement. We have now been here 8 months. At the 6 month mark he told us he wants us to move out before the next school year starts so his girlfriend and her kids can move in. Mind you the basement has no bedrooms or rooms with doors. At that time my husband was also working for him. So we asked for raises so we would be able to afford to move out. We were told we could not have any raises due to the state of the business and them not making any money right now. So we said ok and my husband went and found a new job where he will make more money. Now at this point his mom is taking over the daily running of the businesses for him but he is still the owner with final say. So three weeks ago they tell me they don't feel what I do is worth what they are paying so they are moving me to salary. I do a lot for the business as well as clean his house and do his laundry and was only making $22k a year to begin with which is $3k less a year than the average live in house keeper in this area makes a year. So they moved me to only $10 an hour. Well today three weeks later I was asked how many hours I did and what my pay check this week was for. I told them and then I was informed that I am only allowed to do 20 hours a week anything more has to be approved first. I was never told this. and we are a week and a half in to a new pay period and I am already over 40 hours for the two week pay period with 4 more days left in the pay period. Well now even with my husbands new job since I have been told I can work so little we can't afford to move out. We are going to end up either in our car or renting a single bedroom from a complete stranger so we have a roof over our head as that is all we are going to be able to afford and it will still be tight and we will have to mostly like stop paying some bills and ruin our credit. Why is it always family that does you the dirtiest.

2023.03.31 23:28 TheNewAnonima234 How Do You Host(ess)?
Earlier this week there was a post on AITA regarding an OP and her SIL having a conflict over SIL using a blanket that was a family heirloom. I'd personally thought the situation was an ESH, but got slightly ratioed for it. I'm not really looking to defend my opinion here, but:
- Since my opinion was described as the "dumbest shit I've ever heard"
and
2) Since another Redditor claimed that I was a [savage] and that they "would hate having me as a guest at their house."
I am genuinely curious to get other people's thoughts on their host or hostess criteria, and to see, after all, if I was truly just raised weirdly.
Here is some of what I believe:
- I consider myself to be a "hands off hostess", as in I'd prefer not to be asked permission for every single thing nor hold someone's hand every step of the way while they visited me.
- I do not need someone to ask when to use my restroom. I'll tell them where it is upfront.
- If I have a bookshelf, that is in a common area, you don't have to ask before taking a book to read. Just let me know if you wish to full on borrow it, as in take it home with you to finish.
- If you are cold and want a blanket, then if the blanket is "out" no matter if it's on a chair, in a closet (so long as it's not my personal bedroom closet), on a shelf, etc. then it is fair game. You don't have to ask me to use it.
- If you want a drink, or any snack short of a full on meal, then just go ahead and grab it. You don't have to ask me. Just let me know if we're down to the last cup or bowl, or if a certain snack item is finished off. That way I can run the dishwasher or buy some more from a quick grocery store run.
And those are just some of the examples....
The only hard passes that I can think of for me are:
- People going in my bedroom without asking first
- People doing stuff that's unhygenic, like trying to use one of my toothbrushes, an extreme example that one of the Redditors who I gave the quotes for insinuated I'd also let people do...along with sharing underwear.
- Cooking or prepping full blown meals without asking first.
And yet, my hostess style was found extremely lacking, and people argued that it is stomping over everyone's privacy and boundaries to do damn near anything as a guest in someone else's home that you weren't given explicit permission for first. One person even said that why they didn't want people to use the bathroom without their permission was because they were worried that someone would steal their prescriptions in there. But, like ffs why would you let someone into your house, as a guest, that you had an inkling would steal from you, in the first place?
So, if you've made it this far, what are your own host(ess) styles? Are they similar to mine? Different? Or, do you share the same thoughts as those who found my style lacking?
I'd really love to know, as of right now, I'm convinced the people who responded to me were, and are still, aboard the crazy train.

2023.03.31 23:28 QuietMoonLady Does this logic make sense?
In an attempt to understand some of my Ancestry DNA matches and how we connect, I started a Google Sheet listing my match's name, cM range and predicted cousin level as provided by Ancestry. I also listed my DNA match's direct line of ancestors/descendants from the line I believe we're connected at. I'm only researching matches whose trees contain the Lent surname, and I'm aware some of these are copy + paste trees.
With this method, I can see what lines of intersection my Lent DNA matches share, and as expected I have yet to find a common thread between them and me.
My actual question is kind of confusing, so I'll do my best to explain. Of the three dozen DNA matches I've noted so far, most of them share the same 1-2 ancestors, born between 1610-1590 (a father and son). Then from the son, my matches spread out to be descended from his children, and so on.
Hypothetically, would I consider the elder DNA match to be our shared ancestor, and not the line of descendants from father to child and so on? I feel like I might be answering my own question here...
I think I'm confused because I'm so at a loss for how these matches and I connect, and my new technique to try and understand this is actually confusing me more. I figured it would be easier then fleshing out generation upon generation of a family tree..
Here's a screenshot of part of my file and what I'm referring to. Should I be hypothesizing that Abraham Van Rycken (1610-1689) is a presumed shared ancestor? Or should I be looking at his descendants, like Hendrick Van Lent (1662-1722) or Ryck Abrahamson Van Lent (1637-1723)?
Additionally, for anyone questioning the Van Ryck/Rycken > Lent surname change, it's supposedly a documented change.
Anyone input on my organized chaos would be greatly appreciated.

Yu Kurosaki "Juhyo" Aogami Super Kurouchi Tsuchime 180mm Chuka Bocho = $260
Originally purchased from Burrfection store. Is Used; I would say good condition. Pretty neat, no problems with it. Just isn't for me. Never sharpened or stropped. Has been used but is still sharp (not as much as factory). Nice and thin BTE, grind seems good. Currently has a somewhat nice blue patina, but don't expect it to hold if you use it. Handle does have a "step up" from ferrule to wood on the handle which some might not like. Has slight forced patina on spine and choil to reduce chances of being caught off guard with rust.
Yu Kurosaki Raijin 210 gyuto in Cobalt Special Steel, Stainless = $225 SOLD Originally Purchased from RSK. This is NIB and was originally purchased as a backup to a 240 rajin I have. But at the moment there's no real reason to keep both. Nice tapered spine. that starts thick and gets thin toward the tip. Beyond that the grind itself gets thin AF behind the edge as well. Blade is very nicely polished and hammer pattern is pretty stunning. Makoto Kurosaki Special K/Sakura Line 165mm Santoku. Stainless Clad SG2 = $120
Originally purchased from chef Knives to go. I would call "Like New" but see below. Pretty neat but It's never left my wall and have found that I enjoy much more taller longer blades. Never even seen a cutting board. Still has factory edge. No sharpening or stropping. Something I have noticed is that there appears to be odd light scratches on the non-kanji side. Tried my best to capture them in Imgur post. Not sure it came to me like that or I somehow did it along the way, but I don't think it saw any hard materials while I had it that would leave those faint scratches. Handle is very nice. no step up between ferrule and wood, but some people may want to take sandpaper to it for hand feel. The edge grind has 2 quirks I've noticed. 1 that it sweeps up a lot at the tip, and 2 that it actually gets a bit thicker BTE at the tip, probably because of quirk 1. I wouldn't necessarily say this is a minus, and I've noticed this on a few knives from this line that I've handled. Must just be the way the sharpener likes to do it. Only thing done to knife that makes me not want to call it New is that the handle has been through Boos Oil and Mystery cream in anticipation of the handle getting wet when cooking. So the handle is slightly darker than what you would get if buying from a retailer. But again, never ended up being used.
Miyabi Birchwood Utility Knife 5 in. Stainless Damascus clad SG2 = $145
Sorry, not sure where I bought this. I'm sure it probably a Sur La Table/Crate and Barrel type store. I would classify as Like New. Like the Makoto Kurosaki, this knife's handle has been treated with Boos board oil and Mystery Cream, so it is darker and yellowerthan what you would get from a retailer, but it did bring out some contrast and depth in the grain. The knife is otherwise unused. At the time I was scared of scratching the shiny blade and staining the unstabilized, white handle. Never sharpened or stropped, but I would say that it doesn't seem as sharp as other Japanese knives I've gotten, but still able to pop some arm hairs. A quirk I've noticed is that the cutout in the foam for the knife's packaging doesn't fit the knife perfectly.
Yoshimi Kato 210mm Gyuto in Aogami Super = $150
Originally Purchased from Carbon. Good Condition. Good knife. VERY well rounded on spine and choil. More so than I've ever seen other than Shibata Kotetsu knives. Has a nice and stable gray patina all over core steel, and knife has always been left oiled when not in use. Also has a forced patina on spine and choil to help prevent rust as well. Please note that the heel has also been rounded. Never sharpened. It's sharp, but I imagine some users will still want it sharper. Not shaving, but I don't personally feel any need to take it stones. Has been stropped, but on .1u compound so basically no material removal. Never seen stones.
Kei Kobayashi Santoku in R2 = $170
I LOVE this knife. I love it so much that I bought three of these (yes, seriously). Starts thin and gets even thinner. I would say most people would feel very comfortable calling this a laser. At the time of purchase the item description said that Kei Kobayashi was making his own blades now, instead of just sharpening outsourced ones. Reminds me a lot of Shibata Kotetsu. Knife is also VERY well rounded on choil and spine for how thin it is, although not as much as a Shibata, but it's still supremely comfortable. I would say it's also slightly tall for a santoku; I measured just a hair under 50mm (by about .12). No reason for me to own three, so getting rid of this one for now.

Trigger Warning:
child abuse Original post Entitled stepmonster got herself banned from my wedding
TW: Mention of child abu*e. It's not too graphic, but it's there.
I tried posting this on AITA through a different account a couple days ago, but it didn't work out. Given the trigger warning, I'm not surprised. I have since concluded my wife and I did the right thing, so this will be my last attempt to post this story. I tried to add some info and change the wording a little. All names are fake.
My (28M) stepmother (49F) is a wannabe party planner. She has taken it upon herself to plan and host every party and holiday my dad's family has thrown since she married him. I never loved those occasions growing up (she’s controlling and gets upset if people complain about anything), but humored her for my dad’s sake. According to him, this helps her feel included.
I’m getting married to my fiancée Jane (26F) in July. We got engaged in early 2021, but Jane ended up getting pregnant a couple months after that, and we decided to postpone the wedding to focus on our son for a while. So we’ve had a long engagement.
My stepmother has tried to hijack our wedding plans from day 1 (complaining, contacting our planner, showing up unannounced to Jane’s dress appointments, etc.), and we have repeatedly asked her to stop. Dad wants us to humor her, but she’s clearly resentful of the fact that she’s not hosting the wedding or being labeled “mother of the groom” in invitations.
Besides our baby boy, we also have Luke (4M), Jane’s paternal half brother. She got custody of him a few months into our relationship, after his parents died. I ended up moving in with them during the pandemic, and have been in Luke’s life since he was a baby. He doesn’t call me “dad”, and refers to us as “his sister and his OP”, but we love him like a son.
Stepmother, though, hates Luke. She accuses Jane of “baby-trapping her way into the family” (that accusation only got worse after our son was born). My dad gets along with Jane and adores the kids, but stepmother demands him to refuse babysitting Luke, so we don’t leave the kids with them often. Instead, Jane's brother and SIL usually watch the kids for us, as their children are close to ours in age.
We had a thing last Sunday, and my BIL was out of town with his family. Jane's other siblings live in different cities, as well as my mom and sister. My dad agreed to babysit at our place, and we left.
We came back to find both kids crying, stepmother screaming, and dad weakly trying to calm everyone down. Apparently, Luke had told stepmother that both he and our son were going to be our ring bearers, and she went ballistic. She screamed that she wasn’t going to allow that because he wasn’t family. She then
made me need to include the trigger warning when he started crying. His lip is still split. She'd never gotten to this point before.
We immediately banned her from our house and from our wedding. Dad is fuming and has said he’s not going without her. He’s also convinced half of his side of the family (by severely downplaying what stepmother did) to boycott the wedding as well. This includes my stepbrother, who fully agrees with his mother no matter how many times I try to tell him the truth.
Me and Jane are refusing to budge, but many of my cousins who aren’t coming anymore are asking us to reconsider. Pretty much all of Jane’s family agrees with us, but one of her aunts has suggested that maybe stepmother is acting out because she doesn’t feel welcomed by my family.
I've honestly had it with my family enabling her behavior. I love my dad, and really want him at my wedding, but I am more than willing to go NC if it means protecting my family.
EDIT: I think I accidentally deleted the paragraph where I mentioned this, but we did press charges. We took Luke to the pediatrician the next day and gathered every piece of evidence we had. Not only did we have pictures of Luke's face, but by some miraculous strike of luck, we also had nanny cam footage. Some commenters were right to assume that my SM hadn't been invited to our house, but my dad hasn't really gone anywhere without her in years, so we took precautions. We didn't expect her to actually do anything this awful, but we've never trusted her with the kids. The physical attack happened off camera, but there is some footage of her screaming and Luke crying before and after the event. She now has a child abuse charge on her rap sheet. We wouldn't let her get away with this.
EDIT 2: There is a lot of additional info I want to add. I'll try to respond to at least some of the comments (I DID NOT expect the amount I've gotten so far), but all I'll add for now is that Luke is okay. The visit to the pediatrician happened the day after. He already had a counselor (Jane was pretty traumatized when her dad and stepmom died, and was worried it would rub off on him) and will continue treatment. We've been hugging and pampering him a little more than usual, too. He's still upset, but is already doing much better.
Update 5 days later I want to thank everybody who took the time to read and/or comment on my previous post. It's been a tough week, but it's always great to know that people care. I haven't been able to reply to every comment, but I will try to address some in this update. This might get a little long.
I'll start off by saying that me and Jane are going NC with my dad and SM. We haven't really spoken to either of them since the incident, and I don't plan on being the one to reach out. Any communication between us is being handled by my younger sister. She's completely on our side, but will remain in low contact for the time being.
I've decided to adopt Jane's way of dealing with people she cares about: forgive what's apologized for, but never forget. Basically, if dad or SM ever truly understand what they did wrong and sincerely apologize, we're willing to forgive them, even if begrudgingly so. But we will never ignore (or let THEM forget) what they did to our family. And for the time being, neither of them will be allowed near Luke, our baby, and any other kids we may have in the future, even if we do forgive them.
As for the rest of my family: I read A LOT of comments suggesting that I post pictures of Luke's face, as well as the nanny cam footage. I'm not very active on social media, but even if I was, I'm not comfortable exposing my injured preschooler like that, especially given that nothing on the internet ever truly goes away. I also decided not to share the pictures with my family unless truly necessary.
I should probably mention that while my family adores my dad, most of them aren't very fond of SM. She had two failed marriages prior to meeting my father (the first of which resulted in my stepbrother), and he cheated on his then-girlfriend to be with her. My family loved that girlfriend, and disliked SM right away. Not only has she been controlling and manipulative since the beginning, she's also tried to force her way into the "family matriarch" role by any means possible. Taking over planning duties for every family event was her favorite way to do it, because of all the attention and compliments that come with it. The main reason why I hated these parties growing up was because she'd always find a way to make everything about her, including Christmas and mine and my sister's birthdays. The rest of the family felt neutral about it, but they never liked her.
With Luke, it was different. Most of my relatives didn't meet him until COVID restrictions got looser, and by then he was 2 years old. He's a bright and genuinely loveable kid, and there weren't really any other small children in the family, so everyone immediately started cooing over him. The way I see it, SM got upset that Jane and Luke were accepted by my family so easily compared to her experience, and that's why she resents them both, but I can't confirm that.
She was also mad that, aside from not being the planner, she would have absolutely no involvement in the wedding party. She tried to pressure us into letting her officiate (one of Jane's best friends was offered that role a year ago), making stepbrother my best man (he wasn't interested, and I'd already gotten my best friend) or asking her sister's daughter to be our flower girl (we'd promised Jane's 3-year-old niece, also her sister's daughter is fifteen and doesn't know us). She also tried to convince us to let my dad walk Jane down the aisle, since her father's gone, but her eldest brother (the BIL I mentioned in the first post) had already been enlisted. SM was disappointed that my family wasn't as involved in the wedding as Jane's, and kept making comments about how that "would never happen if we put her in charge".
All of that being said, there is NOTHING that can excuse being that awful to a child, especially if it really is the petty jealousy that I suspect.
Because I haven't spoken with my father, my sister has been keeping me updated on what he's been up to. As I found out through her, the story my dad and SM told the rest of the family completely erases Luke's injury and the abuse charges. It insinuates that me and Jane banned them because we got annoyed with SM and decided to take it out on my dad as well. Because most people already disliked SM, explaining what actually happened that night wasn't hard, and most of the relatives that I actually wanted at the wedding have apologized and are berating my dad as well.
The people that didn't believe us, as well as those saying we overreacted, have been told they are not welcome in our home anymore. Those are mostly people from my dad's generation, so I can't say I'm surprised. But the realization that they are so biased they're willing to protect a woman they hate (after she hurt a child) just to make my dad happy has reassured me that I don't need any of them in my life.
Stepbrother is still in denial. He refuses to believe his mother could hurt a child, even with all the evidence we have. I have to admit I understand, I love my mom too, but that doesn't mean I'd excuse his obliviousness. So he's banned too. It sucks, because we were close growing up, but I don't regret it. Besides, Jane has 3 other siblings besides Luke (the older BIL, a twin brother and a younger sister), and I'm closer to them than I ever was to him.
Speaking of Jane's family, they're all furious over what happened, and have been extremely supportive of us. Jane's maternal family basically adopted Luke after she got custody of him, and have called frequently to make sure he's okay. We did manage to save some money with everybody we uninvited, and have decided to use it to help Jane's cousin. She lives in a different country, and was previously unable to come to the wedding, so we're paying for her plane ticket.
Luke has gotten much better, and is almost completely back to being the sunny child he's always been. The split lip was shallow. It's healing slowly, but didn't require any stitches. We sat him down a few days ago, and explained that my dad and stepmonster wouldn't be around anymore. He really liked my dad, but understands that he and SM are attached at the hip. He's clearly scared of her, but we're doing our best to make him feel safe. Me and Jane have reassured him that he IS family, we love him, and no one will ever change that.
I'm not too worried about dad or SM trying to show up at the wedding, but we've alerted the venue and given them pictures just in case they try anything. Better safe than sorry.
Some people brought attention to the fact that SM is a hypocrite for saying Luke isn't family. I agree, for obvious reasons. Her main excuse for pretty much everything she does is that she doesn't feel like my family welcomes her. Dad has been guilting me to take part in everything she plans by reminding us of that for as long as I can remember. The way he continues to make excuses for her without realizing this is basically a case of the pot calling the kettle black (except Luke actually IS family) is what has made me accept that, while I will always love my dad, it's not healthy or safe for me and my family to be around him anymore. It hurts to know my son won't have his only remaining bio grandfather in his life, but he has two amazing step grandpas to make up for it.
For now, I'm sad, but satisfied with how things have turned out. I don't like to complain about my life. It's a mess, but a beautiful one. I love my fiancée, I love my kids, and I'm lucky enough to love my job. We're happy. I'm not letting anyone ruin that.
To whoever was annoyed at my censorship: when posting on AITA didn't work out, Jane suggested I make the writing less explicit. I'm not used to Reddit yet, so I might have overdone it a little bit.
I hope this is my last update on this story, but I'll keep you posted. Again, thank you for all your love and support! Best wishes to all of you.
In the comments: The only reason why I know that this is the first time she's hit him is because this was the first (and last) time she was with the kids unsupervised. Me and Jane were around every previous time she saw Luke. She didn't want my dad to babysit him, and we'd only asked him to on a few occasions before. My sister was still living with them at the time, and has assured me that Luke was never out of her sight. I know and trust my sister enough to believe her.
First time or not, I will not give her a second chance. She'll never hurt either of my kids again.
.
We've actually had passwords with the vendors since day one. Some of the earlier ones we met actually recommended us to do it. SM did contact our planner a while back saying she had our approval to talk to our vendors. She didn't let her, and we got a bit more strict with passwords after that.
.
So is SM serving any jail time? If she attacked a child then and you guys pressed charges I would imagine she would have to be processed and eventually serve some time for her crime.
OP: We hope so. We're setting up a date for the arraignment.
.
Commener has advice for OP: Start a file for SM. Keep any and all texts, voicemails and attempts of her communicating. Do the same with anyone who has taken her side because she could escalate and you may need that info. Those people are flying monkeys and she’s sent them to not only plead her case, but report back to her the things you may have told them so she can continue to play her victim card. You were great to have the nanny cam, but should also make sure to notify his daycare or school that she is not to be given info or access to him, get cameras hat have audio just in case she shows up at your house and password protect all of your wedding vendors and let them know not to give her any info and to notify you if she tries. Your dad may be harmless, but she’s not.
OP: That 2nd advice is something we've been pretty occupied with, actually. This past week has been mostly about the kids and collecting evidence. But I'll definitely check out the JNMIL sub.
.
Did you say that if your father and stepmonster apologize that you will allow them at your wedding? I wasn't quite sure what you were saying.
OP: ABSOLUTELY NOT. My father and SM are not welcome at the wedding, no matter the circumstances. They could offer me an island and I'd still refuse to let them come back into our lives right now.
I only plan to forgive anything far off in the future, and only if they apologize sincerely. Even then, they will have no access to the kids for years after that. Knowing SM, I highly doubt she'll ever feel sorry for what she did, so we're not counting on it anyway.
*Flairing this ongoing as the wedding hasn't happened yet and step mother hasn't gone to court yet *

2023.03.31 23:27 InkyDesigns [REQUEST][STEAM] GTAV
Hi I'm Inky and I've been on this sub for a while, I've had a range of different requests suited for low end PCs but now I have ascended to the peak
pcmasterrace level. My mom and dad splashed out on me this last summer for my birthday and got me a Lenovo Ideapad and money that I used responsibly to upgrade it to 20 GB of RAM and a 1 TB NVMe SSD drive. I asked for the laptop because I wanted to become a game modder to increase my programming skills, and what better way to do that than using a game series I love and cherish? Grand Theft Auto. Grand Theft Auto is a game series that means a lot to me, since the days of me and my older brothers playing San Andreas and Vice City on our "borrowed" PS2 to playing Niko Bellic's story through the PS3's cell architecture with my little brother (who should not have been playing the game at that time, but he lives still so I don't see the problem). I want to get into the modding scene on this game and get familiar with the inner workings of Rockstar's cash cow. I would like to be able to buy it by myself with the money from my job but it went to my peripherals, Adobe Creative Cloud (I hate you Adobe, but you will catch me dead before I start using anything called GIMP), and petrol (I mean there is a world inflation crisis going on).
Anybody who read this far, thank you for reading my subconscious ramblings in writing. Those who read this far and are feeling generous, I ask you to please get this for me.

2023.03.31 23:27 SingularWorks What kind of a game is that?
| Escape from Norwood is an adventure game. It says so in the catchphrase, it’s how it’s advertised, and hopefully it’s what it actually is. But it could have been something very different. ACME engine The engine I nurtured for years before deciding to publish a commercial game was my own dwarf fortress (stronghold? watchtower? more like a dwarf sand castle). It came from a grinding RPG spirit where you explored, gathered things, fought monsters and then, for some reason, dumped the stuff you carried in a specific place to collect points and gain levels. Well, it was good enough for the dinosaurs like me who were playing it back then, but we wanted more, so we added skills, and then we added guilds, and then we added quests, and points for questing, removing the main source of grind of the game. As I became the sole admin of the game and rewrote the engine a couple of times and in different languages, I added a template system for NPC and items, then materials, which paved the way for a crafting system where you could use any item for its type or its raw materials. For instance, it was possible to sew an orange and blue flag from an orange dress and a blue sheet, or to tinker a jeweled dagger after having forged the blade from something metallic and whatever gemstone you had found and carved the handle from the branch of a tree you had come across in your travels. But this was not enough, so I built a generic enchantment system: species gave specific boosts to your equipment, the power of which depended on the strength of the individual you had killed and used to imbue their virtue within your equipment. The list goes on and on and for the curiousest among you, I expand on it in the addendum below. A lot of manager classes for a lot of systems Suffice it to say that with such a broad list of features to choose from, and the power of the custom scripting and events system of the engine, I could have made a full-scale RPG, a multiplayer collaborative or competitive experience, a low-key explorer or even some kind of economic simulation. Choices But I wanted something simple first, and I wanted to save some things for later. Simple, for the obvious reason of targeting the mobile platform: it obviously can be done on mobile (and was done for instance in the Eldrum duology), but RPG meant equipments, stats, levels, skills and whatnot, all competing for the same UI and screen real estate ; combat mechanics meant fighting gear and fighting styles, a fun UX to be in control of the fight, XPs and loot ; multiplayer meant the need to be online and the technical complexity and cost of managing connections, as well as an imperative for a solid player base early on... As to saving things for later, Escape from Norwood is part 1 of a five-parter. It is a fully standalone game and story, but it plants seeds for further developments and begs to explore other types of magic, other locations, and other kinds of problematics. The plan really was to focus each chapter on different gameplay elements, different settings, different social dynamics and different challenges. It's unsavory screenshots day: look at all these config files! So I went for « puzzle adventure » for this first part, focusing on: - Mechanics-wise, exploration, observation and puzzle solving through the use of items.
- Story-wise, a path of self-discovery, growth and independence from the influence of family and society
- Location-wise, the scope of a small town with a lot of inhabitants, sacrificing massive character development for painting the vision of a whole new world and surprising social order.
This is what you get for your money when you play Escape from Norwood. Beneath the hood And the funny thing is that all the rest is still there: - At some point in the game, you witness a fight between NPC: this is using the engine’s fighting system and the unfolding is random (though the NPC’s stats are biased because at that stage there is only one favored outcome).
- When you get the bow, you use it to solve riddles by shooting at the appropriate things, but you can shoot at anything, sticking your arrows in soft materials or breaking them on hard ones. Thankfully, you can’t shoot NPC, which would have started a fight.
- The game’s spells are tailored for Escape from Norwood, but technically they depend on player stats that you don’t see. And the 100 other spells from the engine are still there, albeit unreachable to the player
- Skills are there, and will even increase while you play (swimming when you move through water, knowledge when you read books …), even if they have no impact on the game itself.
- Eventually, the whole character sheet, client setup (text colors), illness status or invocation runes are in the save files on your device.
The parser listens, at least in dev mode ;).. This never shows up in the game I hope to tap in this huge sandbox for future projects, when comes the time to decide what kind of games the next ones will be. Appendix Here are other features from the engine that are unused in Escape from Norwood: - extended potion systems where you can merge any three ingredients and uncover dozens of different types of effects,
- damage types and protections,
- infectious diseases with various stages and symptoms,
- gathering fruits, leaves, bones or hair from the environment for crafting and potion making,
- hunting and fishing (the latter actually being in Norwood),
- NPC positions (lying, sitting on furniture …),
- carving and writing systems,
- automaps of various scale with symbols and colors,
- tracking,
- peace time and wartime IA for NPC,
- a lore system to give a lot of information on rooms, things and NPC,
- personal player vaults, houses and pets,
- ghost system and ethereal state for dead players,
- alignment system with bonuses and penalties depending on how you behave,
- …

2023.03.31 23:26 Short-Noisey-5683 my friend is toxic
I have a friend I respect a lot. She's not very talented or anything like that. She's extremely humble. And the bullshit she tolerates from other people is simply next level.
But I had an argument with her two days ago, and I can't stop thinking that she maybe unintentionally toxic.
Our problems start because I'm a typically loud person (means I scream and shout when I'm pissed off and I'm depressed and sensitive to add to the mix). Her boundaries are that she will not tolerate being shouted at. And I understand that. I don't like being shouted at either.
So what happened was:
1) a common friend of ours was pissing me off, and disrespecting me over and over while I was sick and tired and hungry in the middle of the afternoon in a summer day and we were wandering on the streets. I shouted at the common friend to 'don't talk to me' or something.
She dragged my friend away from me while muttering that I didn't need to shout at them (I was sure I shouted at the common friend and not at my friend).
I followed after my friend, let's call her A now, because I'm tired of typing my friend all this time.
Now, A didn't understand what had happened or why I had exploded like that. But she believed what our common friend said and when I tried to explain to her that I wasn't trying to be mean to her (she was far away from us when this happened, physically).
She brushed me off and very rudely said 'when your brain starts working right, then we'll talk'.
That argument happened just before we were meeting other friends for lunch. I couldn't eat or swallow. And it was the first time in my life that I couldn't stop myself from crying. I had to excuse myself and went downstairs to focus on something else and not at A giving me a cold shoulder.
2) A and another close friend of mine, B, and me, all three of us were studying together during exams.
When the last exam ended, I decided to help clean her room and then stay out of her room for some days because she is an introvert and we had been taking up her space and peace for a few days now.
We stopped for tea on our way back to dorm, and they started making fun of me. Normally, it's harmless. But at that time, I was more sensitive than usual.
I tried to tell them to not make mean sounding jokes now because I really couldn't take it at that time but none of the two heard my words.
When I came back, I was hurt and hot headed and really angry. I shifted my stuff that had ended up in her room and was finishing the cleaning when A and B came back.
Now, they just laughed. But I was super sensitive. And the laugh felt like icing on the cake of the humiliation I was feeling at that time. I understand they were not trying to be mean. They were just laughing because I started cleaning her room like I was being paid for it.
I shouted at A and B both. I shouted, 'Go to hell!' but make it as poisonous as possible.
B escaped to avoid the confrontation although I'm pretty sure I hurt her as well. Now A and I started arguing because in her opinion, I should have understood that we are friends and that they were not making fun of me. I should have understood them.
In my opinion, they should have fucking listened to me while I was still in control of myself and was telling them to not make those jokes.
Needless to say, we were both right and both wrong and it was settled that I was in the wrong because I did invade her boundaries.
And my anger is ugly so I can understand her being hurt over being shouted at like that.
3) I was cleaning my room. I have a table which serves as a mini kitchen in our dorm.
I was assuming for a middle ground between a kitchen counter type thing and something to store my things in.
So I had been cleaning my small bed and table for about an hour when A and B came to make tea.
Now A sits anywhere. She say right next to a large streak I had made of my books and notes which started falling, starting from the top of the bundle.
I spoke to her, very loudly (volume; my voice is naturally loud, and I didn't intent to shout either), to get up from her spot. A angrily moved to stand next to B and was rude to me the entire time after that.
When I was done stacking my notes again and had moved it away, I calldd her to sit now but she was like, 'I came for B. I won't leave until B leaves'.
Now that pissed me off. She was standing in literally my room and she had the guts to say it. I don't know if it was offensive in the general sense or not, but I was deeply offended.
I swallowed my anger though. I didn't say anything about it anymore.
When it came to pouring the tea, I usually had extra cups in my room. But I couldn't find them because there was too much stuff in my room (the reason why I started cleaning my room for)
I asked A to bring the cups from her room. She was sick at that time. I didn't know. She could have mentioned it to anyone but I distinctly remember not being told something like this.
She asked me to bring them in her place. When I told her that she should bring ut herself,
She asked, 'what the hell have I even done today?" when I was literally in tne middle of cleaning.
I had asked her to do the dishes that day because I was tired of doing them for constantly for a few days now. But she didn't buy it. She stuck to her point that I should be bringing the cups because I hadn't done anything that day, according to her.
At the end, she angrily went back to her room and bought the cups herself.
When she did come back, she was passive aggressive with me and very ride.
Her rudeness made me very upset that night. It was 12 or something in the midnight and I couldn't fall asleep because of how sad I felt.
I felt like, I asked them for help one day and this is how they repay it. Call me out for not doing something for just one day. And that's when I do the same thing nearly everyday and no one bats an eye.
Bur okay, fuck the whole thing about dishes and all.
I tried to talk to her about her rude behaviour today and she was all like, 'but you are the one who started it!'
I could have been mistaken for anything else in life but not about this thing, I'm sure.
Yes, my voice could have been loud. That's a possibility. But saying that I started being rude and started the argument is not right.
And she won't even let me talk about it. I know I can get pretty confrontational and rude sometimes but I will try to be as respectful as possible. That's the fucking thing I'm living for.
And if I can't control my fucking mouth, I'll try to explain myself and my situation and my feelings in a letter or however seems easier to perceive.
But when you shut down a conversation before it even starts, I get really anxious. Like I'm stuck somewhere. And then I want to run away.
I'm angry because I'm trying to be a better friend. I love A and B like family. But this kind of slips really scare me. Like I can't really trust them.
I know it might have been altered perception because she was sick or maybe something about my loud voice did piss her off.
But seriously... she's saying that she can't be always the one who starts fights. And she always uses 1) and 2) incidences as examples.
She shuts me down each time when I try to explain or make an excuse that 1) did not even involve her. I did not mean to shout at her. And I did not shout at her. She was far away and just happened to be in my line of sight, about ten feet away from me when I did shout. I never even glared at her or look at her rudely.
Like, blame me for ruining the mood of the group. Blame me for not being able to control my temper better.
But don't blame me for something I didn't do. It fucking hurts.
And the thing is, only who is omniscient will know which of us is right or wrong.
But she won't change and neither would I. If anything, I would grow apprehensive of her.
And I would have to live with a feeling of being wronged all my life.
When I became friends with her, I was happy to find someone who appreciated communication so much. But If you can't even listen to my story, because you remember being hurt, where does that leave us?
I know you got hurt. But I got hurt too. What the fuck do I do now?

2023.03.31 23:25 847265293 Help Me Close the Disclosure "Logic Loop"
I am a 28 year old male. Am trying to sort out what and when to say about having HSV-1. I did the western blot from Wash U after having an unexplainable skin rash in the genital area after unprotected sex in 2021. My doc didn't even want to do the WB after running all the other STI tests. He thought the skin rash was not HSV - didn't present in a classical distribution, was painless, weird time course, etc. and said to just not worry about it. My partner at the time denied ever having had an HSV outbreak, herself.
But I'm the sort of person who wants to know what's going on, so I did some research and ended up sending in a sample. Even after getting the positive results, doc said that I probably have had oral since being a child. I do get isolated cold sores inside my mouth on rare occasion, but they only last 2-3 days and only hurt if prodded. That doesn't match what I know of HSV-1 sores (clustered, painful, week+ in duration). That sort of leaves me without a strong sense for where my HSV is located.
I have zero concerns about my own health and expect to be asymptomatic for the rest of my life, given my history and absence of any other genital outbreaks since the rash appeared more than a year ago. But I haven't dated anyone new since that partner and I am looking to ask a girl out.
So this is kind of a nebulous story and the only thing I know for sure is that I have HSV-1 antibodies.
Would you share this story before kissing a new partner? Just before sex? At all? How would you frame it?
Part of me wants to explain all of this before even kissing. If we were about sleep together and I brought it up then, she'd be right to say "why didn't you tell me this sooner?" But I'll admit that it seems like an insane level of caution to tell someone about having HSV-1 before a first kiss when I pretty much never have symptoms. I've also never given HSV to a parter before (that I'm aware of).
It seems to me that, at the level you know someone for a first kiss, no one would decide to risk getting HSV, even considering the many reasons why it shouldn't be a big deal. But it also seems like I'm cheating both myself and her out of a chance to decide if the relationship is worth risking for by bringing it up before even kissing. Given that there is a good chance she already has HSV antibodies herself - or at least has been exposed before - and can even get HSV from simply sharing drinks with other people at a restaurant - disclosure before kissing feels like an unreasonable standard. Heck, are those of you with oral HSV avoiding taking a sip of your mate's beer without disclosing?
But I keep coming back to treating her the way I would want to be treated. And then I start the logic cycle over again -_- I dunno, I'm definitely thinking about it way more than I wish I was and sort of want to make up my mind and accept the consequences. So curious to get others' thoughts and experiences who have a similar situation to me.

2023.03.31 23:25 Richauntie21 This sub gets all the credit for my AT/AT/AT (LONG EXPLANATION)
TLDR: SH Essentials $49, David's 200 Agile, Ricardo 6th edition video, Process Game, Urock Notes $15, AR $20, check this sub especially the week of your exam Before the test:
-
Background: I am a good test taker, native English speaker, have strong reasoning skills, about 5 years of PM traditional/hybrid experience. 3 College Degrees and the last one being in 2021 means I am not that far removed from traditional education.
-
Approach: Came to this sub to figure out my plan
-
35 hours: Signed up for $20 AR course in November (thanks for telling me how to get it that cheap), slowly finished by mid Feb (holidays etc slowed me down) In hindsight I wish I would have listened to the whole thing on 2X speed in the background and knocked it out in a week. I went back to re review the important things anyway (don't spend too much time here, your real retention will come later anyway) ESPECIALLY the first 15-20 hours. Don't get caught up on all the ITTO's PLEASE, TRUST ME.
-
Applying: Apply for the exam the same day you get your credits. (I didnt get the approval email for a week, but when I loggged in to PMI, it was processed within 3 days, so check back frequently. I used AR video on applying and it only took me an hour
-
Scheduling: Be realistic but schedule your exam. My test center is in a major city and really busy and I was admant on taking it before Q1 was over. I checked back daily until a March 30th spot opened up. Reading the sub gave me confidence that I could pass with 6 weeks of prep. Anything additional would've enabled me to slack or to over prepare. Didn't want to do either of those things since I am young and like to go out on the weekends LOL (in hindsight I should have taken a mock exam to confirm 6 weeks was realistic but I know im a decent student and a good test taker. People with challenges might want to take a mock first to gauge your readiness. For 90% of people I think 6 weeks is plenty if you have the capacity to study)
-
Study Hall: $49. Bought the basic because I knew I wouldn't have time to take more than 2 mocks. I actually ended up having a very socially demanding March and didn't even do half of the mini exams.
-- I know people hate that it is hard and demoralizing, but I think you are really just practicing to understand the how questions are written and asked. you are preparing for the test STYLE. don't beat yourself up about scores. I will say that the answer explanations SUCK and if you are stuck between two answers, SH doesn't give you a lot of definite detail on why one answer is better than the answer. the test is structured very similiary (2 good answers), so this is really really key in preparations.
-- I couldn't do all the mini exams but I made sure to focus on agile and hybrid since I felt I struggled with that. I think I did about half of them. I went from scoring in the 30s to the 60s not from knowing more but understanding rationale better. That made me feel better (not the scores, but the way I better knew to attack the questions and piece together my answer)
-- Mock exams: hard but necessary. Take two 8 minute breaks when you are 33% and 66% through with the test. you need some time during the real test to re check in etc, this was really good practice. The SH mocks don't tell you number of questions left but the real test does. You have to simulate the breaks yourself.
---
Scores: I scored 62% and 68%. After removing experts it was 71% and 84% (but my second test had 70 expert questions LOL). I came here worried but you guys reminded me this was normal and I was ready so I told my friends to not let me reschedule LOL.
---I WISH I would have used
u/urock 's note to help me answer the practice questions because that would have proved me more context than the SH answers. This was basically my text book, wish I would have done more open note question answering. I think I would have retained better this way. I did practice questions on the app on my phone when I found myself killing time in traffic, waiting on friends etc. I saw very similar questions on the real test so don't take these for granted. Especially the Agile ones.
-
David's 200 Agile: I loved David's 200 Agile questions but I kept getting distracted and only got half way through it, HUGE MISTAKE. Priortiize this over knowing the knowledge areas. I REPEAT!!!! THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN KNOWING THE KNOWLEDGE AREAS!!! He talks quickly so its not as easy to do in the background, I would cast it to my TV and sit on the sofa and watch. Wish I found more time to do this.
-
Ricardo's 6th edition video: I watched Ricardos video and followed along on his print out, BUT I didn't need to keep re-watching (unless you have time) just watch it once, and play the game until you have a good udnerstanding. Just understand don't memorize. His accent also makes it a little difficult (no offense) so I couldn't JUST listen, but the visuals are soooo helpful. That's my dawg
-
Mindset: AR's Mindsent is good, but I feel like the community over emphasizes it a bit . It's good to know but it really can't be applied in every scenario. I went back and watched his videos the week of the exam as well.
YOU: When I was demotivated or hungover, I kept coming here to re visit all your stories and the daily accomplishments just to keep me going. Sometimes I spent more time here than studying LOL. but it worked, both my coworkers failed their first time and studied more than me (And spent 10x more money)
After the AR course, I probably spent 30 -40 hours "studying". My study approach was definitley quality > quantity.
Week of Test:
- The week of the exam I rewatched AR's videos to understand any theory's , terms, etc I didn't have a great comfort with. Also watched the agile videos and Mindset on 2x speed again while I folded clothes. Was a good reminder of those small details that may or may not appear on the test. Watch all the Drag and Drop just because they're short and helpful. Don't memorize, FAMILIARIZE.
- The night before the test I pulled out my tablet and just spent an hour scrolling through Urock's notes and just skimmed it high level. Spoiler: I read two things that night that appeared on my test!! So grateful for you guys
- It was good to read posts from people who took the exam a day or two before me
- Before going to bed I was so badly wishing I would have taken the exam date on the next week instead so I couldve finished the Agile video and the mini exams LOL. (Don't be like me and doubt your mock scores). Don't let Perfect get in the way of Good. Rescheduling would have been a silly and expensive mistake.
TLDR: SH Essentials $49, David's 200 Agile, Ricardo 6th edition video, Process Game, Urock Notes $15, AR $20, check this sub especially the week of your exam During the Exam:
- Wore blue (literally owned one thing, I am glad it fit), Woke up super early so I would be fully awake by test time. Somehow still drank 30z of cold brew (throughtout the test, wouldn't do that to my bladder before). Pearson wanted to me to take my jewlery off but I couldn't. leave at home if possible. All I took were my phone, ID, keys, and lots of snacks and drinks LOL. Ate breakfast before as well. Used the restroom before the exam. Fyi wearing glasses slows down your check in process because they have to examine them after every break LOL, maybe should've wore my contacts?
- The test has a highlighter and strike through option. Sometimes I would get hung up on the text of the question. DONT. Figure out what it is asking, and then go back and read the question. Highlight agile vs hybrid. Product Owner vs. PM. Don't get hung up in the words like I kept doing. Sometimes the longest/most confusingly worded questions had the most obvious answers, so don't get hung up
- People say certain sections are easier than others, I kept going back on forth on this but I think some are just more familiar to us (Study Hall esque, vs. not) There were very few long question which was great. I can only think of 1 or 2 "expert" level questions. I remember thinking I passed during the first section, but then thinking I failed by the end LOL
- I flagged the ones I didn't feel like dealing with but did not waste time reviewing anything else. Honestly you can usually narrow the answers to two so you're 50/50 either way.
- I took both breaks, the 8 minute practice was good. Forced myself to go to the bathroom and eat some berries and drink something every time. Made me feel human again and not just a PMP robot lol. You really do go a little stir crazy. By the end I was exhausted and honestly kinda giving up. Definitley a mental battle as well. Stay the course. I would've done better in the afternoon but that option wasn't available to me.
- Suprisingly, I was kind of chasing the clock. I only had 10 mins to spare and found myself pretty stressed/distracted by that. Having 3 independent sections help because it limites what you can go back to. focusing on 60 questions at a time does help with management but I wish I focused more on my timing during my prep. It was hard to stay focused, I didn't think it would be that challenging since I assumed the addrenaline from the test would kick in, but I definitley lost steam towards the end.
- All in all I think I felt good about 60-65% of my answers. The other 40% was educated guesses. Given I didn't study a lot compared to most people here, I thought that was pretty remarkable. Since I usually get 60s on Study Hall, I would speculate I got about 70- 80% correct on the real exam.
- The "congratulations" at the end isn't big and bold like you would expect so I had a micro second of thinking I failed LOL.
- The woman handed me a paper upside down but once I saw AT/AT/AT I flipped it upside so everyone could see why I had a smile on my face LOL. Feel bad for the people there taking much more demoralizing exams like LSAT, MCAT etc LOL
After the test:
Wish I would have taken the day off from work, my boss said I could but I alway say yes to everything and one of my coworkers wanted me to come to her training (she didn't know about my exam) lol
Once that I home (early) I headed to the grocery store, picked up something to eat, cake, and beers. Ended my afternoon with 1 or 3 beers, met up with some friends for some plans (even tho I wanted to sleep) then relaxed for the next 24 hours lol. Can't wait to do absolutely nothing this weekend LOL.
THANK YOU
I think I literally covered everything but please ask me any questions. I can't express how much you guys helped me. Without you I would either be spending another weekend studying, or currently crying from having failed a $500 exam. Don't know which is worse. Passed this test for $85 (WORTH IT) Thankful for this community, but please rememmeber we are an inately highfunctioning and ambitious group. We are used to seeing highscores everywhere but Study Hall isn't about being perfect it's just about being prepared. Trust your preparations, you are already a project management proffessional, the three letters don't define you. Your identity is YOURS. Good luck and best wishes!

2023.03.31 23:24 spartansareforever Whew this hurts!!
https://imgur.com/a/L19n3sJ Hi All,
This is the last of the knives that I personally haven’t got first hand. I’ve kept them so long because they are awesome, but as part of the fun is tracking down my own things these are departing.
Hinderer MP-1 Full Ti - At least second owner. It’s in great shape. I have never disassembled it or sharpened it and I do not believe previous owner did either. I did carry it and cut open a box with it. Action is pretty darn good on Teflon washers. Comes with box.
SV 600 OBO
NCC BBM V2 - At least second owner. I have carried it. I have never personally disassembled, carried or cut anything with it. No issues that I notice. Comes with pouch. No COA (do not believe that’s come with one).
SV 900 obo (not real sure what to price this at so make an offer if this seems unfair).
Thanks all! Will try to ship out tomorrow but no later than Monday. No trades please.

2023.03.31 23:23 Sylvia_Whatever Went from teacher to school SLP
Anyone else go this route?
I taught for three years, got my second bachelor's online while teaching, and then went to grad school for two years to get my master's. Now I work as a school SLP and while there are some of the same problems (last week a student trashed my room and I got yelled at by a parent lol, also spend a fortune on my own materials) OVERALL it's a much better job. I enjoy working with small groups of kids, making my own schedule (school hours obviously but I can group kids howevewhenever I want), and just feel like I have a lot more freedom. I'm between multiple school sites so if I finish seeing kids at 1, I'll just leave and do paperwork at home and no one knows or cares, I'm not expected to be at staff meetings or anything like that. When there are behavior issues it's easier to deal and honestly I'm less frustrated because I'm not trying to teach 30 other kids at the same time. I'm also on SIGNIFICANTLY higher salary scale in my district, making about 30k more than I was as a teacher, so the two years off for grad school should be worth it pretty quickly.
Just wanted to share in case anyone is thinking of it. I know I got into teaching because I enjoy working with children but for sure not as a teacher!

2023.03.31 23:23 Longjumping-Mud1412 Help with LTN (again)
I want my receiver stations to call 2 trains worth of material so they stack but even though I raised the train limit to 2 it’s still only calling 1 at a time even though I have a free train at my depots and the provider station is green
I was expecting one train to get pinged and head to the provider station fill up and once it leaves the provider the second train would get pinged but a new train doesn’t get pinged until the first train is done unloading at the receiver station
The settings im running on the receiver station are
-minimum train, length to make sure only 1-4 trains go there - limit trains to 2 since I want 2 -request threshold set to 32k since that would be 2 full trains of plates to ensure the trains are emptied -copper plates -76.8k to fill my chests up
Any help would be appreciated as to how to get 2 trains to get pinged either together or one after the other, my issue might be that I only have 1 copper plate provider station but I’m not sure

2023.03.31 23:23 PlasmusAng Incoming Freshman looking for advice
Hey guys,
I was admitted to UMD undeclared back in Jan, and after getting back the rest of my decisions it seems like UMD is my best choice, I've been starting to plan my rough 4/5 year plan and want to see if there's anything I don't know if I'm biting off more than I can chew.
So the key thing to note is that I'm basically deadset on doing both CS and Business, whether its a dual major or dual degree, and then I'm planning on applying to both the Smith +1 and CS BSMS programs to get my masters quicker and cheaper than getting it later. I haven't seen anywhere outright blocking being admitted to both but is it allowed to take part in 2 accelerated masters programs? Also is that even a feasible thing to aim for? The hardest courseload I've taken so far was this year, where I did 11un of cc work a sem on top of 6 APs and 2 jobs (running my business and interning for a political campaign), and I ended off last sem with a B in my 5un CC course and a B+ in AP Phys C, so that I guess is a reference for how much I can handle. I also know that UMDs BSMS for CS is really research oriented, which I'm fine with but personally I'm looking for the career oriented benefits since I want to go into SWE or Quant (I'm basically straddling whether I want to work in finance/fintech or just tech). (I also plan on applying to the university honors college and major honors where I can)
I've attached a rough 4 year schedule (note summer and winter semester classes are things I'll take at my local CC for 46$ a unit so those aren't running me a ton of tuition costs), can someone take a look and see if it along with my overall plan is feasible? Also, how difficult will the LEP applications and +1/BSMS applications be in terms of competitiveness and such.
Plan Also note I currently have 46 CC units, 1 AP credit, and potentially 6 more based on my exams, I've also attached an SS of the equivalencies UMD would give for the transferable courses and accepted APs. Though my Chinese 3 credit for some reason isn't transferable, only my chin 2 is.
