I do not have apple care. When I realized what I had done, 30 minutes later, I got it out of the pool and checked to make sure it had shut off. It was off. When I got home I put the iPhone into a bag of rice to dry. 2 weeks later I figured the phone was dry, but the camera lens still looked like it had water inside. So I grabbed my Ifixit tool kit and consulted the compendium of all human knowledge (google) for a tutorial on opening the phone. Attached are pictures. There is a white crusty film over everything inside. I assume this is dried chlorine and whatever else was in the pool water when it dried. I try real hard not to think about what else is in public pool water. Does anyone know the best practice for cleaning this off? I am thinking distilled water, soft brush, and microfiber cloth. Maybe a Qtip with microfiber around it for the camera and lens. Thoughts? Thank you in advance. |

We currently have 8 or so cameras but just 2 in actual use outside; the batteries in one of them went flat after a month when it should've lasted two years. That's when I learnt that the Micro USB port doesn't charge the batteries, and that the batteries themselves aren't even rechargeable despite being lithium ion! What gives?! They're just AA batteries after all.. And sure, the rechargeable ones I'm using are 1.2v instead of 1.5v, but the camera seems pretty happy running on them? Why the HELL are the batteries non-rechargeable? And where do they even expect us to get these dumbass lithium batteries from anyway???

I bought an electric scootebike on clearance for cheap. Everything appeared brand new. No scuffs, scrapes, or anything physically wrong to make me think it was a return or damaged at any point. For the life of me I cant get the battery to charge quickly. Intially plugged into the charger, and according to the lights, it shows no charging. Check voltage on charger, it checks out. Check voltage on battery and its at 5 volts. 5.2 to be precise. I decide to just leave it "charging" for a few days. Recheck voltage and its gone from 5.2 to 5.8. Several days later and im closer to 7.8 volts. Still far from the 25.2 it should be, but closer. Is this dead? Can it be resurrected? What other things can I check? I know i can buy a new one, but i prefer to fix things that can be fixed. If it is dead, whats a better alternative? Thanks in advance!

I knew I would use home assistant so I didn't need anymore. A cool thing that graywinds does is they program each of the blinds to a specific channel on the remote. I went around my house with a label maker and added the channel number that each of the blinds is programmed with. I ordered a few of the blinds with the motors on the wrong side (only wrong because i opted to solar charge and the USB port was on the side of my window that slid open) I had to take the blinds apart and reprogram them. Once I had the blinds apart I took notice of the motor. The motor is the "Jcd25sleu-1130 -z" I have attached the manual below if anyone orders these blinds and needs to do some reprograming. Thus far I have had to revers 2 blinds and modify the endpoints of another 2. As the title suggests, I replaced the battery and starter on my 2006 Ford Taurus. Shortly after (maybe about a day or two) a message saying " check charging system" appeared on the dashboard. A couple of days after it has completly stopped and is stalling when trying to turn on the ignition. Any help will be much appreciated!

I have one old laptop that i can try and reuse the batteries for a power bank and should i just get a BMS rated for that voltage and battery type? Is that just it? I guess being used in a laptop they should be balanced and exactly the same voltage already.

It comes with a 56Wh battery which is pethatic and drains in 2 hrs doing even the most basic stuff. I was wondering if it's possible to swap the battery with the 90Wh version available in higher-end Strix G15 models. I'm pretty sure that would require swapping out the speakers with smaller ones, since the battery is too broad. I'm not too sure, but it seems like my laptop's chassis already comes with screw holes necessary for the bigger battery. So, do you think this upgrade is doable? is it possible to find those slim speakers from higher-end models? will those speakers work with my motherboard? I have a 1999 VW Bora 1.6. I intended to keep it running for 5 more months since then I get a leasing car from my job. It's not worth buying anything for that short time and renting is expensive. I am just finishing university and don't have much cash for expensive repairs (that job where I'll get that car is my 1st job)
The car ran just fine until this week, it suddenly wouldn't start, no turning over, no electricity, no lights, no radio.. Tried jumpstarting with someone else's car -> Nothing, checked all fuses, checked if all cables were connected properly under the hood, tried to clean terminals and connections. concluded it was the battery that died, given the battery is from 2006.
Now I bought a new battery, succesfully installed it myself. Got electricity working again, turned the ignition, the engine starts and immediatly just dies. For a brief moment it runs just fine and you can even rev the engine into high rpm's during that brief moment by pressing the gas, but after about a second rpm just goes to zero and engine stops. Even if you keep pressing the gas, revving the engine, it just stops.
I am wondering what this could be?
