It's been about 7 months since DDay, if you look at my post history I found out a week or 2 ago that the only reason I even had to go through all the pain I did to begin with is because her first choice got bored.
Yesterday was (22f) WSs birthday and honestly saying that I (27m) was not feeling it is an understatement, I was honestly a huge asshole that day, but I can't bring myself to feel bad for ruining her birthday. She is taking an NC period of a couple days because yesterday and today were BAD, so I went on a long motorcycle ride today ended off by a couple very attractive women checking me out at a red light on my way to grab some coffee made me feel like I'm wasting my time on someone who treated me so incredibly bad.
That makes me feel bad however, because she is putting in a lot of effort in therapy and I really want to believe that she cares, she has been giving me a lot of gifts (coffee from her work because I love coffee, meals I don't have to ask for, she took me to a Brazilian steakhouse for my birthday last month). I'm honestly just so fucking goddamn tired of being reminded of all the hurt she put me through and all the fucking "growth" she used me for, assuming she's even being loyal now (we also just recently moved to a new state for her so I'm worried she's only being loyal, if she is, out of a lack of options rather than an abundance of morals). I think I love her and I don't want all the pain to have been for nothing, just for her to have "grown" for the next man

I go to the gym, make a good salary as a senior software developer, own a condo, and make video games on the side. However I am 5 foot 6. So I feel like I experienced 0 attraction from the opposite sex. I thought SR was working however, right now I feel like i was completely deluded into thinking I have any chance of finding a partner in a western country due my height.
I’m starting to groom more than I usually would. But I feel like it’s a waste of time. I see all these stories of women messaging you guys out of the blue when on SR. Apologies in advance - this is going to be long but I need to get this out in the open after over a year of this stuff. For context, I have a guy friend who I've gotten pretty close to and developed a little bit of a crush on him. We met in college but became good friends while studying abroad together and we've been buddies ever since.
First thing's first - he is the typical frat boy cool guy and I am the typical edgy artsy girl. He started off by light heartedly suggesting I should go but by the end of the conversation was insisting that I had to come with him, even making me promise that I would go out to a bunch of bars and clubs with him (he knows that's not really my scene). I told him that I absolutely wanted to, I just had to see what I was doing job-wise and I'd have a more definitive answer. I made it very clear to him that if I am able to get the time off at my next job I would absolutely go with him.
I was so excited - the guy I liked and trusted wanted to travel with me?! Surely this would be a chance for us to get even closer and maybe this was his way of trying to move towards a romantic relationship. I knew the romance part was me being an idealist but I just felt so happy that he wanted to spend time with me and do this big thing together. All of my girlfriends thought the same thing too! It seemed so cliché, two friends traveling abroad together only to find out they were secretly in love this whole time, but it seemed like that was exactly what was happening. Surely this would finally be my chance to start a relationship, or at the very least have a fling after not having a single guy interested in me since middle school!
Well, last night I sent him a meme about the country he's going to and he tells me "oh btw I think I'm going back in October." I immediately knew that he had forgotten out entire conversation and the fact that he was strongly suggesting that I go with him. To avoid making myself miserable I've been telling myself that it truly just slipped his mind (he has awful ADHD and has made a point before to tell me "I really don't want to forget about (friendship commitment), can you please remind me?" I know that his medication also fucks with him when it comes to things like this so I'm trying to tell myself it's that and not just him being careless.
Right now, all I know is I thought after years of just hoping and praying for love I though I might have seen the light at the end of the tunnel but any type of hope was just ripped away. He is the only guy my age that I know and have felt this way about in a long time so I am back to feeling like all hope is lost and I will forever be the girl whose friends say "you're so great, you'll find someone" despite no one ever being interested in my very existence.

I am about to pull my hair out after 6 hours of attempting a self install transfer. For reference my move in date was today 5/30/23 and my scheduled transfer time was today 5/30/23. My old account is still active so I cannot access the new account provided when moving. I got an email listing the order confirmation but never an email with the full new account number and security code. No matter what I try and do my devices will not connect to the internet. There may or may not be a service outage in my area as it’s unclear if the notification came from my new apartment or old one. Any advice before I start crying like a baby? Edit: for clarification both the router and modem have solid blue connection lights, signifying they are on and online which is confusing.

I’ve tried unplugging battery and cmos battery, waiting 10 mins to reconnect them and still get the same boot sequence. Fans turn on for 3-4 seconds after I press power button and then turns off. The light bar stays blue and screen is black. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

My thoughts on my baby being in the NICU

1. I hate that it feels like I need ‘permission’ to see MY baby. I totally understand that I need to check in and show my ID for safety reasons. However, it’s annoying.
2. I have to follow all these rules for MY baby. I can’t just feed her when she’s hungry. When she was on the blue light for her bilirubin levels, I couldn’t just pick her up and hold her. I can’t wear jewelry. I have to use a specific sink to wash my hands before I touch her. I have to make sure the door to the isolette is closed whether she’s in there or not. -It’s hard to pick her up with all her wires and tubes and close the door before sitting in the chair to hold her. - I have seen signs that I’m not suppose to eat in the NICU, but I have ate my snacks because it’s a hassle to leave the NICU and I have to be let back in the room (again safety issue). Besides Dad and I, only FOUR people can see her and only two at a time. Those four people cannot change. There’s also a sign that says no using cell phone while holding baby (I also don’t listen to this, but I DO listen to the rule about cleaning your phone).
3. There’s basically no private time with MY baby. When I’m breastfeeding or pumping, I have a privacy shield thing that goes around me, but it’s not perfect. I keep it around me when I’m done because I like the privacy. We’re just in a big open room with other babies and parents and nurses/staff.
4. Along with no privacy… I feel watched ALL the time, especially if the privacy shield isn’t up. Sometimes.. I feel judged. I don’t want to be watched while I change her diaper. It takes me longer because all these freakin wires attached to her. Not to mention, I’m a first time parent and it’s been a hot minute since I’ve changed a newborns diaper. I also don’t want to be watched while I give a bath, change her clothes, etc.
5. It feels downright WRONG every single time I leave the NICU without MY baby. It’s like leaving my heart behind for strangers to care for it. The feeling is AWFUL.
6. I don’t feel like an active participant in her plan of care. Medications were added without us knowing (multivitamin and iron so nothing crazy), the feeding tube moved, she was moved to a new room, and we have absolutely NO say in when she’s ready to go home. We are just told what they are adding to my breastmilk “just extra calories” no real education about it or if I even have the option to refuse it. I feel scared to say no to anything because 1. I don’t want to be judged or labeled as a complicated mom & 2. I don’t want her stay to be longer. I literally just want her home ASAP. Plus, sometimes you don’t know what questions to ask. You don’t know what you don’t know. I also find it annoying that doctors don’t call and update you consistently. I get not calling everyday if nothing has changed but I think at the minimum, docs should be calling every 3 days. (Docs for adults call a family member everyday if asked/appropriate where I work).
7. The alarms give me anxiety. In nursing school, it’s stressed “focus on the patient, not the machine / treat the patient, not the machine.” Well, it seems like there’s always some alarm going off in here. It makes me look up at her monitor and hope it’s not her. When it is her, I’m thinking “is she okay?! What can I do?!” Most of the time, she fixes her wacky vitals herself and quickly. Now that we are getting close to discharge, I am REALLY discouraged when she, for example, has a heart rate drop. This pushes the discharge date back every time it happens. Back to my nursing school knowledge, every heart rate drop that I have seen with her… she has LOOKED fine. She’s breathing with no color changes and it lasts like a second or two. Soooo it’s just really really distressful, upsetting, and discouraging.
8. The drive back and forth SUCKS! It also sucks to plan around her ‘care times’ (the times that she gets vitals, diaper changed, and fed). That also goes back to I can’t just feed her whenever… she’s on a schedule. But if she were at home, she would be fed when she showed signs of hunger not at specific times.
9. I feel like a LOT of my precious maternity leave has been ‘wasted.’ I haven’t gotten to spend nearly as much time with her as I want because it’s hard staying in this room. Plus, I don’t want to be at the hospital, I actually want to be home, but I want her WITH me at homeeeeeee.
10. I feel like I have missed a LOT of bonding time with my baby. I feel very very robbed of my time with her & the experience I had in mind for delivery / postpartum.

In summary, having a baby in the NICU is really difficult. I will say I know there are rules and schedules for these sweet babies for a reason. Our nurses have been extremely kind and update us when we come here or call. I am VERY thankful for all my daughters nurses & nothing about my post is negative to them. Even the privacy comment, I appreciate them checking on us and making sure we’re okay. It’s definitely taken a toll on me mentally, BUT she has been improving and getting stronger every day. I’m thankful she’s really just in the NICU because she was born prematurely & no other concerns. I know it could be worse and I am so so thankful she’s doing well and I KNOW she’s where she needs to be and the staff are taking good care of her. ❤️

Ever since the Allen outlet mall shooting, my call center (less than 30 minutes from outlets) has been "revisiting" our safety committee due to a handful of employees expressing concerns about the overall security of the office. We have a security team which, honestly, is a step up from Paul Blart. Yes, we all have to badge in, and we only have one entrance, and they have been hyper-focused on "piggyback" entries. I personally often think of Active Shooter situations and the whole what if... To the point where I'm attending a seminar about Active Shooter defense. The security is flawed in numerous ways, everything from the entry of the building to lazy "guards" at the front door. Some are caught sleeping mid-day; most of the time, they are all on their phones scrolling or flipping through magazines with their feet on the desk.
I did volunteer to join the Safety Committee, which addresses all building emergencies, not just Active Shooter scenarios. I do worry that I need to tread lightly. I don't want to out myself as a gun owner, let alone an LTC permit holder. I don't carry in the building as they have the 30.06 posted (but NOT the 30.07 🤔). I have my firearm locked in my glove box in a travel safe cabled to the dashboard frame (as I have a 90-minute drive each way). For this reason alone, I don't want to draw attention to myself. However, I'm the only male to volunteer the rest are women from the call center.
I know what will be said, don't talk about it; no one will bring it up. I only hope that this will be the case. In the next week or so, those who volunteered will get their "position" assigned, and we will all get emergency bags to keep near us at all times. I kinda feel like I'm falling down a rabbit hole and trying to acknowledge that I'm overthinking it.

This is a trip report but mostly im looking for what should I do next because I still feel lost after almost a year.
July 10th 2022 I took 4g of a chocolate bar shroom for my third trip ever while I was feeling like literally nothing because I was desperate to feel something.
I was chilling in my room listening to music really loud and just waiting for my trip to start, once it did I was waiting for a feeling of euphoria and wonder and what I got from my last trips but still didn't feel anything really. I saw some hallucinations but didn't feel anything crazy and nothing was intense. I was ripping my cart and vape and like swirling my hands around in a circular motion, then i started like patting myself down and feeling euphoric and I started tripping really hard. It was pitchblack in my room besides some small light from my computer and small strip of LED in the corner. I was seeing crazy geometry when i closed my eyes and my entire presence when I closed my eyes felt like a different world.
Eventually I couldnt remember anything about myself, I felt completely one with everything around me and I was tripping really hard. I would like hit my cart and nic for a second then lay down and close my eyes and I would see like crazy geometric patterns for a while then suddenly id see some crazy landscape with a line of geometry going through what looked like a completely different world. I saw a beautiful mountain range with a huge grass plain at the bottom and a glistening blue lake, I saw what looked like ancient Egypt with a line of geometry separating the sky into a cyberpunk cowboy bebop looking world ( i was really into cowboy bebop the month before this trip idk if that had anything to do with that) and after seeing things like that, those being the most rememberable id like gasp for air and sit up and be awake and not in my head anymore and chill for a second, text my gf, and then hit my cart and nic and repeat. I did this over and over and eventually my perception of time was completely gone.
I had music on the entire time and I remember this one song I never heard before coming on and I thought it was some 7-8 minute song but it turned out to be a minute long song by duster called moon age. After going through that cycle of tripping and chiefing I eventually was just completely gone in my head for a while and I was seeing insane geometry thinking abt things, i honestly cant remember what exactly but at the time it felt like stuff about the universe and being one with everything and love and life and idek but stuff like that. I started thinking abt myself again and my life after completely losing track of who I was and everything in my life. I felt like a soul or separated conscious looking intro worlds and just existing to occupy something. I kinda snapped out of everything and felt sober for a second and said "my name is *name* what the fuck am I doing right now" cause I just didn't feel like i existed or reality was anything.
After I snapped out of my tripping I was freaking out I could barley remember anything about myself I felt like I had no body only my arms and head (i was covered in blankets besides those) and I was texting my gf at the time trying to make sense of everything while I typed what happened and I called my mom and had her and my dad come up and talk to me and eventually I felt okay and I went downstairs for a while till everything kinda wore off.
Since then I have felt completely lost and unaware and disconnected from everything around me. I was pretty sure I had a dissociative disorder before I tripped and after I have been dissociating like crazy nothing ever really feels real and im so disconnected from everything and I figured after a while it would wear off but I still feel this way so idk what to do. I have been debating tripping again on a high dose and trying not to egodeath or anything just experience the trip and see if that resets me, but ive also been debating trying to egodeath or make whatever happened happen again and go through with it and see if it helps me.
Sorry this is so long I just dont know where else to really put all this and its been weighing on my mind for a while id really like to get some opinions from people who have tripped too.
