2023.03.31 23:26 josephbobersonjr Is it crazy of me [25M] to go visit my girlfriend [23F] while she's abroad in Argentina?

In the fall I started seeing this girl and things eventually were going really well (we're American btw). However she had told me she was leaving in March to go to Buenos Aires for 4 months for an art program. We still really liked each other and didn't want to see other people, so we decided to be officially dating until she left.
Shortly before she left a month ago, we had another serious discussion about our feelings and decided we wanted to at least give things a shot while she was gone since she'd only be gone for 4 months and would then move back home close to our city.
She mentioned last week that if I felt like coming to visit her there, she would like me to, but there was no pressure. I wasn't sure at first since it's a long and expensive flight. However, I feel like this would be a great opportunity to visit a cool city in a new country, as one of my general long-term goals right now is to travel more. I also work fully remotely so I wouldn't have to take as many days off as I could work from down there. She speaks Spanish very well and by the time I come she'll know her way around pretty well - I don't know when else I'd be able to visit Buenos Aires with someone who speaks Spanish in my life.
However, a couple people I've told about this recently have said things like "you're going all that way just to see a girl?! That's insane, you've only been going out for like 5 months!" Including a couple of family members telling me I'm being stupid.
So now I am worried that it's absurd I'm thinking of doing this, and yes I know it's a long trip just to see a girl, but down the line I think I'd regret not doing it. I'm very stressed now about all of this

2023.03.31 23:19 Old_Heart_7780 The Fourth Amendment protects you and me. It protected Richard Allen until someone turned states evidence.

What Does the Fourth Amendment Mean?
Whether a particular type of search is considered reasonable in the eyes of the law, is determined by balancing two important interests. On one side of the scale is the intrusion on an individual's Fourth Amendment rights. On the other side of the scale are legitimate government interests, such as public safety.
The extent to which an individual is protected by the Fourth Amendment depends, in part, on the location of the search or seizure. Minnesota v. Carter, 525 U.S. 83 (1998).
Home
Searches and seizures inside a home without a warrant are presumptively unreasonable. Payton v. New York, 445 U.S. 573 (1980).
However, there are some exceptions. A warrantless search may be lawful:
If an officer is given consent to search; Davis v. United States, 328 U.S. 582 (1946) If the search is incident to a lawful arrest; United States v. Robinson, 414 U.S. 218 (1973) If there is probable cause to search and exigent circumstances; Payton v. New York, 445 U.S. 573 (1980) If the items are in plain view; Maryland v. Macon, 472 U.S. 463 (1985).
Wikipedia (“the poor man’s dictionary” Admiral Sentence lolol)
“The Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. It prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures. In addition, it sets requirements for issuing warrants: warrants must be issued by a judge or magistrate, justified by probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and must particularly describe the place to be searched and the persons or things to be seized.”
Richard Allen is an American citizen. That’s a fact. Richard Allen, regardless of what anyone thinks, is protected by the 4th Amendment. The Indiana State Police and the FBI and and the Carroll County Sheriff Department knew about Richard Allen from the time he said he was on the bridge that day at that time wearing what he was wearing. We know from a locally published news story quoting the lead ISP investigator in the Delphi murders of Abby and Libby, that the investigation had a “team of detectives constantly circling back” so as not to overlook an important clue. Don’t believe me— Google ISP Sargent Jerry Holeman. It’s a fairytale that Allen was overlooked.
Google: ISP Sargent Jerry Holeman 6 month anniversary interview on Delphi murders.
It’s there in all sorts of interviews and local stories from the 6 month anniversary date of the murders of Abby and Libby.
Richard Allen was always a suspect. Nobody saw Richard Allen do what he now stands accused of doing. Even though he was a suspect on law enforcements radar they did not have that all important probable cause to search his house.
That didn’t come until a certain individual tied to Delphi through multiple searches on his home, including a backyard search of his granny’s house— led investigators to a pile of ashes behind Richard Allen’s backyard shed. Don’t believe me— you can read about all of these searches on this Delphi sub— backed up by local news media confirmation.
It took an informant— somebody connected to the murders— to get to Richard Allen. How could anyone know that? Simply look where that informant had the ISP searching a muddy River next to a bridge less than two miles from his home.
You don’t think they found something important in that River? I say look at where ISP investigators went after muddy River search ended. They went right to granny’s backyard burn pit. Trust me it took finding that murder weapon to get a search warrant probable cause affidavit signed by a judge to search through that old ladies trash dump. Junior knows his dad burned bloody evidence in that trash dump. That’s why investigators were looking there.
Where did ISP investigators go right after sifting ashes and unburned orange peels for a week behind granny’s house. They went directly to that guys house that nobody ever heard of but the FBI, The ISP, The Carroll County Sherriff’s office and the Carroll County prosecutors office. They all knew about Richard Allen— the fact that they found a weapon in a River and burned evidence they were looking for in granny’s trash dump— allowed investigators to get that judge to sign a search warrant PCA to get into Richard Allen’s backyard ash pile hidden close to the back of that shed. We even have an account from a neighbor reported in the local media— investigators were there before sun up with flashlights sifting through ashes. You couldn’t make this shit up. They were there early that October 13, 2022 predawn morning looking for the same evidence they were just looking for at granny’s house on Paw Paw Pike in beautiful Peru, Indiana some 40 miles away.
From that backyard pile of ashes investigators sifted enough evidence to go back to that judge and get a warrant to get inside Richard Allen’s house. We know this because there are witness accounts reported by the local news that there was a lull in the search as searchers and the Allen’s were all outside— before the searchers moved inside the house. Obviously waiting on the more intrusive search warrant to arrive back from that judges signature. They found the .40 SiG Sauer P226 and the rest is history.
The crybaby Allen says he didn’t do it. Where have we all heard that before??
I have my suspicions. I won’t use the maggots name but you may or may not know who that is. He’s the same guy a lot of people think killed Abby and Libby. He’s the guy that beat up that little boy on a toilet bowl. He stalked that 11 year old girl with his truck and scared her to so bad her mother had to get a restraining order pulled on his POS ass. Not the guy you want living in your neighborhood. The Good Old Boy syndrome in rural Central Indiana allowed him to roam freed after only 10 days in jail for cracking that 8 year old boys skull.
I’ll leave it at that..
We shall see

2023.03.31 22:51 Thunder_Cylcops3456 Mario and Luigi: IndeiCrust

Mario and Luigi: IndeiCrust
I suppose that there should be a Mario and Luigi crossover with my own copyrighted characters and the characters from Shantae, Skullgirls, League of Legends, My Hero Academia, Homestuck, Little Witch Academia, Overwatch, Minecraft Story Mode, Basin Lake City Magical Girls, Terrain of Magical Expertise, Indivisible, Steven Universe, The Only Living Boy, Double Cross, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

I suppose that Shantae, Sky, Rottytops, Zapple, Harmony, Plink, Vera, Kipo, Filia, Parasoul, Cerebella, Valentine, Painwheel, Peacock, Skip, June, Tama, Alpha, Kirbopher, Flamegirl, Gamecrazed, Nylocke, Zetto, Kizuna, Erik, Shoto, Izuku, Katsuki, Ochako, Tsuyu, Momo, Mina, Sucy, Akko, Lottie, Nuna, Tungar, Leilani, Ren, Kampan, Baozhai, Dhar, Razmi, Thorani, Garen, Jinx, Soraka, Leona, Ahri, Teemo, Janna, Vayne, Ezreal, Thresh, Bel'Veth, Xerath, Zoe, Nasus, Lissandra, Zyra, Senna, Taric, Volibear, Kayle, Fiora, Camille, Cassiopeia, Evelynn, Lulu, Sett, Kai'Sa, Irelia, Thresh, Sivir, Tristanna, Samira, Warwick, Quinn, Qiyanna, Veigar, Ziggs, Akshan, Syndra, Vex, Yorick, Illaoi, Yone, Riven, Orianna, Karma, Neeko, Lillia, Morgana, Blitzcrank, Lux, Braum, Taliyah, Rell, Zac, Vi, Heimerdinger, Ekko, LeBlanc, Akali, Katarina, Sona, Elise, Nilah, Xayah, Nidalee, Shyvana, Steven, Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst, Lapis, Bismuth, Peridot, Connie, Perfuma, Frosta, Mermista, Scorpia, Bow, Catra, Glimmer, Adora, Tracer, DVA, Lucio, Mercy, Mei, Winston, Pharah, Zarya, Karkat, Vriska, Kanaya, Terezi, Aradia, Nepeta, Sollux, Eridan, Meenah, Equius, Gamzee, Tavros, Kankri, Mituna, Damara, Cronus, Horuss, Aranea and some of my characters are playable characters and joining Mario and Luigi along with having their own attacks and getting their hammers and even talking for the Mario Bros.

The plot should happen in the Lumiran Kingdom. The Lumirian Kingdom is actually a mashup of Greek culture, Roman culture, Scottish elements, Irish elements, elements of the Nordic countries, composite versions of Native American cultures, Egypt depicted as if it were still a land of Pharaohs and gods, and aspects of all historical South American, Central, and Mexican nations combined with Wuxia themes.

The storyline should heavily feature collecting pieces of a magic item to stop an evil sorcerer from taking over the Lumiran Kingdom.
There could be a cool house that has a best security system, secret passages, fireman poles, concealed helipad, unique architectural style, interdimensional portals, Christmas store, secret laboratory, floating platforms, magic waterfalls, arcade game room, alien tech, library, private exercise room wine cellar, holding room, room dedicated to watching news, conservatory, ballroom, numerous massive gardens, and having an elaborate underground base
There should be lots of cool content like discount cards, a debug room, a developer's room, sound test, concept art gallery, holiday modes, lore codex, model musuem, old save bonuses, hard mode perks, secret characters, enemy roll call, monster compendium, cartography sidequest, regional bonuses, socialization bonuses, collection sidequest, hard mode perks, and a post game state.
The game should be a metroidvania and there should be many elements such as charged attacks, flash step, enemy scan, grappling hook pistols, jump physics, dungeon shops, backtracking, sidequest stories, disconnected side areas, justified tutorials, warp whistle, sequence breaking, and video game tools.
Overall, the game should have fully voice acting with the talents of Tom Holland, Zendaya, Tara Strong, Fred Tatasciore, Frank Welker, Cristina Vee, Kevin Michael Richardson, Corey Burton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Yuri Lowenthal, Andrea Libman, Dee Bradley Baker, David Kaye, Phil LaMarr, Cree Summer, Christine Marie Cabanos, Nicole Sullivan, Erica Mendez, and many other talented voice actors.
And Lumintlis is the hub city and also being a city of adventure and being the royal capital and it contains many buildings such as a colosseum, casino, hostess club, video arcade, unique vendors, minigame zones, and much more buildings and being populated by Lumirians, Seedrians, Veakrants, Inklings, Octolings, and many other races and even having sewers, a haunted house, city narrows, and an undercity.
There should be many locations such as an abandoned mine, ancient tomb, haunted castle, abandoned laboratory, bedlam house, ghost ships, and many more cool locations that are in the Lumiran Kingdom.

Also Calterburry Castle is the player headquarters and it gets renovated and has many features such as new tapestries, treasury, an alien containment area to contain prisoners, magical library, forge, luxury chapel, luxury courtyard, merchants, training facilities, mines, farms, a colossal dungeon in the basement, exercise equipment, dojos, shrine for idols, fancy trophy hall, luxury tavern complex, and much more.

There should be lots of enemies in this game and having palette swaps that fight differently along with powerful bosses.
Overall, most of the things like the Bros techniques, Bros items, and even the Beanish could be in this game and having a post credits scene

2023.03.31 22:37 azumangautism I don't like school holidays

for any confused americans I mean time off school, like breaks you get during Christmas and Easter. the two week Easter holiday just started which means I have two weeks off school which SHOULD be nice but it's really not. I'm autistic and am frequently picked on as a result which means I hate school but at least going to school means I have things to do. I'm in year 11 (the end of secondary school/the academic year before college) which means I have a ton of GCSE revision to do which wouldn't be all bad if I actually had other stuff to do too. all of the other people I know from school are going places and doing things because they're middle class and capable of that kind of thing, but being working class I have absolutely piss all to do. I can't go anywhere. I can't do anything fun. I've had people say "that's great! you have more time to revise! I don't because I'm going on holiday :(" LIKE GIRL DON'T SAY THAT TO SOMEONE WHO IS POOR AND CLEARLY JEALOUS OF YOUR ABILITY TO ACTUALLY DO SHIT😭 I can't STAND middle class people and their inability to comprehend the feelings of the less fortunate. I just have to sit around doing jack shit and revising for two weeks having no fun whatsoever and scrolling through my friend's instagram stories seeing them actually doing fun stuff and having to act like I'm happy for them when I'm really not. don't even talk to me about summer. oh my god. because I'm in year 11 I'll leave early which means I have like 8 or 9???? weeks of holiday????? I haven't counted but dear lord that's a lot of time to be doing fuck all. sure I can go grocery shopping with my dad but I do that most weekends regardless. nothing fun or new. just the same shit except I'll be dreading results day this time around. also, no, I cannot go for a walk unfortunately. I live by some gorgeous meadows that I'd love to see but I have some mystery disability affecting my joints that makes walking agonising most days so I only go out when I have company to make sure I don't like. collapse or some shit (hence why I help my dad with the shopping, I get to go out but like. safely). I've neatly cried about this already and I only got out of school like 6 and a half hours ago. its not fun. I wish I had places to go but I don't. school holidays suck.

2023.03.31 22:37 redandbluenights Problem with buying a bundle.

I purchased eight items from a Mercari seller in Florida. It took them a long time to ship out the order and before it ever came, they reached out to tell me that they didn't have several of the items in the lot because they had already sold a bundle and Mercari failed to remove the sold items from their inventory.
They agreed to send replacement items for the ones they couldn't send, which I agreed to.
When the package came, it was missing several items (3 of the 7 things id bought, even accounting for the replacements).
I opened a ticket and the seller said they said they would send a second package with the items, but then went back and forth about what they still did and didn't have. Finally, the second package arrived almost five weeks after the purchase.
In it, they had sent the one replacement item- which was supposed to be a retired older American girl doll in good condition in a retired older outfit. She had said that since she didn't have the outfit that id bought, she'd send "several of her original dresses". The package came with just the doll, no dresses. Worse, the doll was in ROUGH shape. Her leg was literally falling off.
It's now been almost six weeks since the original purchase. There was no problem with the first items sent, and I went back and forth with the seller again, who finally agreed that I could return the broken doll.
Mercari is sending me a return label for it. I sent them photos of the one broken doll and discussed all the problems with the order.. They said I could send the doll back.
The seller is now demanding that I send the ENTIRE contents of BOTH PACKAGES back to them for a refund which i absolutely don't want to do.
Mercari got the photos of the single broken doll, and said they would refund me. I want to send that one doll back and be refunded for that part of my purchase.
Ive already made improvements to the dolls I bought over a month ago, they are already in my collection, having been cleaned up, redressed, and in one case, rewigged with a $65 wig.
Can't I just return one of the items - the only defective one? The lot was sold as a grouping of 7 items - why can't they just refund the one item that was faulty?
The implication here is that if you buy lots of Mercari- sellers can screw you on one of the many items, and you either have to accept one faulty item or return everything?

Tsukasa - much like MMJ this one was super close for me I love all their songs, I think Mr.Showtime just edges him ahead for me
Mizuki - maybe biased bc they are my fave but shhhh, I still love all of Niigo and Mafuyu comes very close but I'm sorry I don't like Saisei it's not my cup of ramen

Overall I think Kohane beats out Mizuki for me which now I think about it makes sense

2023.03.31 22:09 Ethics_Gradient_42 On redemption and deserving redemption

The topic of redemption, and who deserves one, appears on this sub (and on FNKI) pretty regularly, for obvious reasons. We had some characters get redeemed – or, as some would put it, start on their path to redemption – and other characters many fans want to get redeemed, so having these discussions from time to time seems rather unavoidable.
(We’ve also had some characters who conspicuously did not get redeemed, but more about that later)
In these discussions, the usual line goes something like this:
"No one needs to deserve redemption. Redemption is something you work towards, so all a character needs is to want to be redeemed. So there’s no such thing as an irredeemable character, nor does it make sense to talk about a villain "deserving" redemption."
And this is all fine and good and makes sense, but... somehow, the above line of thinking still irks me, particularly when discussing RWBY and its antagonists. Below, I’ll try to delve into why.
Obvious disclaimer – this is just my opinion, nothing more.

Context

To begin with, I’d like to remind everyone what exactly the antagonists have to redeem themselves from. We’re talking terrorism, mass murder, destabilizing entire nations, and joining forces with the Grimm – creatures who are by design enemies of all humanity – and Remnant’s Queen of all evil. Now, I think most people would agree that different crimes merit different responses, and what Cinder, Emerald, or Neo were a part of is among the worst crimes possible on Remnant.
(Ilia is somewhat different, in that she "merely" wanted to murder her best friend’s family, along with sending said best friend whom she says she loves to a fate worse than death at Adam’s hands. Raven... should probably be talked about in a separate post, but for now let me note that she canonically murdered a child, stole powers that could’ve been used to protect humanity, raided villages for decades, and essentially made the Grimm’s job easier; by the time they meet, I’m not sure who has the higher death count between her and Cinder)
Now, there are a couple of things the above means.
First, while it’s true that a character needs to want to be redeemed in order to do so, they also need others to give them the chance. And, to be honest, I don’t really like the thought of the heroes doing it.
I mean, Emerald alone is an illusionist who has already pretended to be friendly towards the heroes, has already messed with their heads, and who is very much not over Cinder, who is one of their main enemies. What does it tell when the heroes trust her and give her the chance, along with a crucial role in their plan – in the very same arc where they explicitly refused to trust the man who was nothing but honest and helpful to them from the start?
And, besides, as I said above, Emerald was a willing participant in some of the worst atrocities we’ve seen. What would it tell about our heroes if they essentially let her get away with it? In-universe, would it not be spitting in the face of all who perished because of her and her ilk, those who lost their loved ones, their homes, their livelihoods? Sure, one might say that Emerald would face justice later on, but from what we’ve seen so far, I’m not exactly certain about that.
Second... now, I might be alone in this, but I genuinely don’t see why I should care. I mean, the Fall of Beacon alone probably had death count in the thousands at the very least – and yet Emerald’s life (or Neo’s life, for that matter) should somehow matter more than all of them put together? Sure, I get that most of their victims are nameless and faceless, while Emerald was shown to be sad while helping slaughter a city – and many, by the way, take that as evidence she is not a terrible person. Still doesn’t make it sound any better to me.
(Here, I’d also like to take a minute to note that Remnant is, more or less, a death world, with humanity waging war with monsters, and not exactly winning. If my words sound a little extreme, I believe this should also be taken into account)
That is also compounded by the fact that I’m not even certain if Emerald is genuinely regretful – from what we’ve seen so far, she only changed sides after she realized Cinder doesn’t care about her, and Cinder’s boss wants to eradicate all humanity, including her. Certainly, Emerald had absolutely no issues with other people dying before – and other characters people want redeemed, like Neo, Raven, or Cinder, don’t have even that.

Contrast

That’s not exactly a popular topic, but I don’t think I can avoid bringing that up. Sure, you can say that everyone deserves a chance at redemption... but in the show itself, not everyone gets it. Adam (a member of a racial minority that was enslaved less than a century ago, who literally got branded, and who at least started out with a noble goal of fighting discrimination against his race), Ironwood (who lost limb fighting for humanity, had genuinely good intentions for most of his time in the show, and was, for quite a while, the most helpful and honest Headmaster the heroes met so far), Roman, Lionheart, Jacques, Watts, Fennec, Clover and Vine... yep, the list goes on. Some of them did far less evil than Neo or Emerald, and especially Raven or Cinder. Yet they got killed off, with no closure or redemption. Hell, Hazel only got redeemed by sacrificing his life to help the heroes escape.
Notice the pattern yet?
Seriously, if "everyone gets a chance at redemption" literally meant "everyone", that might have been better. But so far – to be perfectly honest – it feels more like "if you’re a cute girl, you get a chance at redemption, or at least fans hoping for one, otherwise you’re screwed and probably dead." Not exactly an inspiring message, if you ask me.
Which is why, coincidentally, I hope that Neo's current arc doesn't end with her getting redeemed, or staying in the Ever After, suffering no repercussions for her actions. Or that Mercury doesn't die while Emerald, who did the same things he did, lives and gets redeemed. The odds aren't exactly on my side, though.

Character agency

To state an obvious point – characters are a part of the story told by the show. They only do, or do not do, certain things because the writers have decided so.
To wit – when discussing Adam’s lack of redemption, a lot of people say something like "well, he had a chance, he just didn’t take it." Why didn’t he take it? Why did he die, while Cinder, who has done everything he has and more, still lives, despite everything the show has thrown at her? Because the writers have decided so.
And I think that’s what a large part of the "deserving redemption" thing boils down to. Characters are, when it comes down to it, tools the writers use to tell a story – so what is it they want to tell? What messages are there in their story? And will it be satisfactory for the viewers in the end?
When discussing this, I’ve had someone tell me that Emerald "set a clear precedent in universe of what’s considered redeeamable" and that "whatever the writers say is redeeamable is redeeamable in that universe" (fixed some grammar, but otherwise direct quotes). Well... what do the writers say? That you can participate in terrorism and mass murder, knowingly get thousands of innocent people killed, and then get away with it because you had "a change of heart" that might very well be simple self-preservation, and get trust from the very heroes you tried your best to kill? And that you can dedicate your life to protecting your Kingdom and all of humanity, lose half your body while doing so, and then get screwed over by everyone and everything – from the same heroes who wouldn’t give you the same trust they would a terrorist and a murderer and to your own Semblance – and die miserably alone, none of that vaunted redemption in sight?
Nice message it is, indeed.
And, yes, you can very well bring up Ironwood's own failings, and how it were his own choices that led him to where he ended up... but, well, see above.

Closing word

Once again – this post is just my opinion; more like trying to get some things off my chest, honestly. I know it probably won't be popular – I’ve been accused of things from "not getting the point of the show" to outright "bloodlust" for expressing my opinions on this matter – provided it will interest someone to begin with.
(Also, it probably seems like it was aimed mostly at Emerald, since she is used as the main example; this was not exactly my intention, and I also had characters like Ilia, Neo, Raven, Cinder, and even Salem in mind while writing this. But Raven alone deserves a separate post, in my opinion, and this is quite lengthy as it is already)
Still, I hope it could provide at least some insight into why character redemption might not be so clear-cut of a matter, or why "this character does not deserve redemption" might not be so meaningless of a statement.

2023.03.31 21:53 TDragonsHoard The 'I am so very badass' GM.

This is less of a story from gaming, but something I found while looking through ads for games.
I shall just quote some of the things that they are using to HIGHLIGHT themselves. To get you to join their PAID game. Yes, this person wants you to PAY THEM to run a game. And this is how they are selling themselves:
How they describe their 'real world experience' for running Shadowrun:
Shadowrun is world of the occult and criminals, and boasts a unique tactical combat system. I'm an American born citizen that has spent over five years in Mexico. I've rubbed elbows with all kinds of criminals in the USA and Mexico, spent time training with various militias around the US, prevented a cartel from kidnapping my nine-year-old daughter, and although I'm a Messianic Jew today, I am quite familiar with the occult. My life experiences guarantee a more authentic experience for players interested in running in the shadows of the criminal underworld.

They go on to further describe themselves in an attached pdf, which yes. Includes an entire section on their personality type (and star sign, they are a Leo if you were curious). And note, I purposed redacted their name, when they stated it. The rest of it, with them talking about themselves in the third person? 100% copy/paste from their pdf.

As a Messianic Karaite Jew, this GM believes in the laws of the Torah (first five books of the Bible) but is not interested in preaching or entering into a religious debate at the gaming table, ensuring that the focus of the game remains on the gameplay rather than religious or political discussions. is an absolute monarchist and therefore finds himself most aligned with Republicans and Libertarians in terms of American politics, but he also isn’t interested bringing political discussions to the gaming table.
With military, militia, and real-world criminal experience, this GM is well-equipped to create complex and challenging scenarios for their players. They have a deep understanding of the dynamics of power and conflict, which can be reflected in the game world they create. Their knowledge of occult subjects may also come into play, adding an extra layer of mystery and intrigue to the game.
Finally, this GM has a no-nonsense attitude and will not tolerate players who attempt to push their own agendas or views on others. They are strongly opposed to feminists, liberals, and what they perceive as "weak sissified snowflakes," and will not allow discussions that they believe detract from the game's focus. Players can expect a game master who is highly skilled, organized, and passionate about creating an engaging and immersive game world, but who is also unafraid to enforce the rules and keep the game focused on the gameplay.

Some of their table rules:
  1. It’s a Man Cave – Women are absolutely welcome at the table, but be aware that the environment is decidedly masculine and hostile to the slightest expressions of feminism, or males acting like snowflakes. In fact, easily triggered weak women probably shouldn’t bother to show up at the table at all.
  2. Vulgarity – The narrator may narrate scenes that are exceptional vulgar whenever appropriate. As a heterosexual male, however, I have no interest in hearing about a fellow male’s climatic experiences. Example: “I [VULGARITY] when I first saw the trailer for the latest installment of Star Wars,” or, “Okay, that elf woman is so that that my character totally has a [VULGARITY] and he’s [VULGARITY].”
  3. Erotic Content – Narration may include R-rated sexual content that is not intended to arouse players. Example: “You can hear the girl [EROTIC CONTENT] in the stall next to you and see that there are two people in that stall. Do you want to kick the door in, hose them down with your sub-machine gun, or do something else?”

They even have a section about house rules!
  1. The GM will resolve any situation without a dice roll if sees fit. Example: “Instead of rolling to figure out exactly how many members the vehicle advanced, the GM found it appropriate to simply narrate that that the enemy had finally caught up with us, and then he simply declared that the Ork in the bed of the pickup-truck fired an RPG at our armored van and we were facing a 22D attack from an anti-personnel rocket...and he did that without rolling any dice.”
  2. The GM may invent completely new rules and dice rolls on the fly, and even use dice that are not normally used in the game (such as a d100 in Shadowrun when the game only calls for using six-sided dice)

All in all, I hope you folks get as much of a laugh out of this that I did! And yes, I have the links to all of it. I just WISH I had the creative chops to make something like this up. I'm not going to post them publicly, but I'm also not going to say it is hard to find on Roll20.

2023.03.31 21:09 FirstBreath1 I let a stranger take a picture of my family. Now he wants more.

There’s a certain hopelessness that comes with being watched. You just want to take off your skin for a little while. Maybe crawl inside a hole or fuck off behind the couch all day. Kind of hard to do that in the digital age. Anyone can access your location at almost any time. All it takes is a simple search. Even the refrigerators have cameras.
A stranger in the woods took a picture of me in my home.
I had a lot of trouble wrapping my mind around that fact. The same place where my kids slept. The same place we hoped to grow as a family. Nothing felt safe anymore. The television could be bugged. The lights could be hacked. Every online article about twenty-first century surveillance spawned little red ants that moved back and forth beneath my skin.
The police arrived early in the morning. Emma made french toast and bacon. Two officers looked around the property for about an hour. They spent a good amount of time on the porch and the steps leading up to it. I hoped for the best. But nothing unusual turned up.
They asked if we had any enemies. I explained the encounter at the beach. I focused on the man taking my phone for the picture and the woman bringing it up the prior night. I thought maybe they were working together. I told them we couldn’t stay at the house anymore. I didn’t think it would be safe. I must have rambled.
The officers sipped their coffee. They nodded patiently. They thanked me for the information. They thanked Em for breakfast.
Then they left.
“We’ll file a report. Let us know if anything changes.”
I don’t know what I expected. Maybe a dozen squad cars and a personal chopper to escort my family to safety. But there wasn’t any damage. No names to blame. No tips or data to trace. We had a creepy picture and an odd late night visit. That was it. Not a whole lot to go on.
I booked a hotel.
We spent the day at the mall. The shops kept the kids busy while I sat in line at the store to figure out a way to secure my phone. I had this growing suspicion of the strange people around me. Everyone from the middle-aged guy at the counter to the thin woman eyeing bedazzled cases seemed suspicious.
The customer service rep called my name and my stomach dropped. I caught my breath. I got up and took a minute to explain the situation once again. I emphasized the fact that these weirdos found my house. The young guy’s eyes grew wide at the details. But he didn’t seem altogether phased.
“These days,” he opined. “Everyone can change their number. Forget burners. You don’t even need a new phone anymore. There are apps that will do it for you. You might be able to block the server or block the number that’s calling but who’s to stop them from trying another one? And another? And around and around we go. This is how you still get spam calls.”
Tell me about it.
“So what do we do?”
He grabbed my phone and looked over the two messages in question. He typed the phone numbers into his computer. He stared at it for a minute. He looked around for help. Then he mumbled.
“They’re actually real numbers.”
I got excited.
“But they’re not connected to anything,” he frowned. “Weird. So maybe not real in that sense.”
I deflated.
“What does that mean?”
“Well, the phones aren’t sold by us. So we can’t see everything. I can only see the provider right now and it’s not one that sounds familiar to me.”
He showed it to me.
“WVC. Never seen that before. Mean anything to you?”
I shook my head. He scrolled a little more. It was clear we were at another impasse.
“Maybe try finding the carrier,” he hesitated. “Also... have you ever heard of AirTags?”
I shook my head again.
“Little white GPS trackers. Portable. People use them for finding their keys and stuff. Now, the ones that are made by the big companies are pretty obsessive about privacy. You’ll get notifications on your phone if anybody is trying to follow your movement. But the off-brand types? Private investigator shit? Somebody with a little more knowledge can very easily buy one of these things online, stick it under your bumper, and use the data for nefarious purposes.”
“Great.”
“So check your car.”
“Done.”
He typed a few more things on the computer. He power cycled the phone. Then he handed it back to me.
“Okay. You’ll want to do the same thing to your wife’s phone, or it won’t work. The change on your end should be immediate. Hopefully this little roundabout will throw them off. Call us if anything changes. We can work with the police as well, once there’s an active investigation, let us know.”
I thanked the guy. I headed out into the crowd of the general atrium. I was exhausted. There was a table by the vendors with some comfortable reclining chairs attached. I grabbed a seat and let the prior day’s struggles fall into the faux leather handles.
I might have dozed for a little while.
The din of crowds and conversation converged to form an odd sort of lullaby.
I opened my eyes to the screech of a child crying for a toy. The traffic seemed to have died down by that point. Afternoon shade dipped in through the painted glass. I got up and looked around. That's when I saw him. Black slacks, white shirt, gray golf cap.
Elderly.
I darted across the cafeteria like a psychopath. I knocked over a safety cone. I bumped into a kid. I didn’t give a shit. This asshole was going to pay. I lost control of myself and grabbed him by the shoulder right in front of a security guard. I regretted it almost immediately.
“Hey!”
I raised my fist. The man turned around. I gasped. They looked absolutely nothing alike.
“Shit.”
“What’s your problem?”
“I’m sorry.”
“You should be.”
“I thought you were someone else.”
I backed away. The man brushed off his jacket. We both nodded at the guard. I apologized again. I turned around to get my bearings and found my entire family staring back at me.
“Real nice.”
We left the mall together out of embarrassment.
“You have to calm down,” Emma chided. “Seriously. You’re scaring the kids.”
The wall back to the car was awkward. She was right. I never wanted to be the type of parent (or person) who lost his temper in public. Joey didn’t seem to care but Sofia wouldn’t look at me. I tried to cheer her up with dad jokes and promises to play with all the cool stuff at the hotel. But she wouldn’t budge. The poor kid just wanted to go home. I kept telling her we couldn’t.
I was distracted.
Otherwise, I would have noticed the girl walking behind us the whole way back.
“Excuse me,” she shouted. “Do you have time for a picture?”
I ushered the kids to the car. Emma got inside with them. I could hear the click-clack of heels gaining speed while we fumbled with the seat belts. I shut the door, set the lock, and turned around to a wide-eyed teenager smiling back at me.
“They say a thousand words, don’t ya think?”
I screamed at her. I couldn’t help it.
“What the fuck do you want?”
A concerned couple stopped at the sound of my voice. A few more onlookers joined them. I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t fight back. I couldn’t hit her. I couldn’t even raise my voice. She knew it.
“A picture,” she giggled. “Just a picture! That’s all. Why do you have to be so uptight about it?”
“We don’t want you to take our picture.”
“Okay!”
She had a certain giddiness about her that’s hard to describe. Do you know the type? She was just as pretty as the last one. Brown hair. Tanned skin. Designer dress. But she did not stop looking me in the eyes. Crazy eyes, as my friends might have called it, or a thousand-yard stare.
“But we’re going to do it anyway.”
I got inside the car and slammed the door. The kids cried in the back. Emma scrambled to calm them down. I backed out of the spot and nearly hit the creepy hippie along the way. She was still smiling. I hated that smile. Like she knew something we didn’t.
“What is going on?!”
I hit the gas hard. We peeled out of the parking lot. My wife turned on some music. Down by the Bay became the soundtrack to my complete and total mental breakdown.
“Did you hear that? Three people now. Three. They all know about the picture. They all want more. Who are they? Why are they doing this?”
“Calm down.”
“How can we calm down? What do we do? Where do we go?”
“Go to the hotel. Or no. I don’t know. Just drive.”
I turned onto the highway. Traffic spilled out into the intersections. I found a back road that led to a quiet route by the water. Emma called the police along the way. I pulled over at a gas station and checked for trackers. There weren’t any.
“The officer in charge will get back to us soon.”
We didn’t really have a plan. We didn’t feel safe at the hotel. We didn’t feel safe at the house. So we got back in the car and drove north. We kept driving until the road signs became unfamiliar. Then we kept driving some more. The sun slipped down and the kids fell asleep to the steady motion of the bumps in the road and Raffi’s greatest hits.
“Do you think they’ll stop now?” Emma whispered at one point. “It’s probably just a stupid prank, if the police pressure them, maybe they’ll back off…”
“I don’t know. I hope so.”
She nodded and reclined her seat. I thought she drifted to sleep. But soon after that talk, her voice startled me.
“Do you see that black truck behind us?”
I actually did see it. They had been with us for miles. Most traffic turned right at the parkway entrance, but this guy stayed straight, about three lengths behind. I just didn’t know what to do about him yet.
“Turn.”
I sped up and dove into a neighborhood. The truck flew past. I came back out to enter the highway.
The truck was waiting.
"Shit."
“Call the police again.”
I hit the gas. The truck followed. I changed lanes. The truck followed. The next few seconds happened sort of fast and slow at the same time. They pulled up beside us. I tried to avoid them. I saw a face in a mask in the passenger seat and then a quick flash.
“Matt!”
They rammed us.
NOT the other way around.
The car flipped three times with my family inside. We landed somewhere on the side of the road. Even through all of the blood, chaos, and screaming, I could still see them taking pictures before the ambulances arrived.

Imagine a machine that, upon inserting a quarter, out came a dollar. We’ve found a company building such a machine.
Fellow Investors,
Last time we found something this special, readers who acted quickly saw gains of over 500%.129
This time could be even bigger based on special circumstances at play.
In this case, we’ve identified some of the most successful names in gold mining history and followed the trail to a junior upstart that has—without fanfare—quietly become one of the best plays available in the market today. In this article, we outline exactly why and back it up with our detailed research enclosed below.
The most astounding element here, is the fact that this junior mining stock can be bought under $1.00/share right now—less than a single dollar per share of Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM). We’ve seen comparable stocks in the space trade well over $5/share, sometimes over $8 or $9 per share.
A review of recent Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM) press releases and regulatory filings reveals a company sitting atop tremendous assets, focused on cash-flow, run by perhaps one of the most qualified teams imaginable.
Here’s a list of key documents every investor should review to truly understand why Element79 Gold(CSE:ELEM) might quite possibly be the #1 purchase to make in today’s market environment.
Quality of Management
  • Element79 Gold Appoints Shane Williams to Board of Directors
  • Element79 Gold Welcomes Barrick Gold Alumnus and Experienced Mining Executive as Chief Operating Officer
  • Element79 Gold Welcomes Mining Veteran as Vice President of Global Exploration
Quality of Assets
  • Element79 Gold Completes Acquisition of Nevada Gold Portfolio
  • Element79 Gold Completes Acquisition of High-Grade Peruvian Gold Portfolio
  • Element79 Gold Files NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Maverick Springs Project
A full breakdown in a detailed report is included below, but in sum and substance, any serious investor in today’s market should consider an investment position within Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM) for the next 9-18 months as their path to cash-flow ramps up. This is not a situation to sleep on.
Remember, last time we brought an opportunity like this to the attention of our readers, investors who completed their due diligence promptly saw the greatest return potential. Be the early bird.

Golden Opportunity
The ‘Must-Own’ Company of The Year
That’s why our #1 stock to own in 2023 is Element79 Gold Corp. (CSE:ELEM), a junior miner sitting atop one of the largest land packages in Nevada18 smack dab in the middle of the largest gold complex in the world.19
In today’s market, it’s more important than ever to have a firm foundation of solid research. That’s why when we conducted our due diligence…
…and discovered senior management hailing from Barrick Gold, Eldorado Gold, and Skeena Resources…
…including assets surrounded by some of the biggest gold mines in the world…
…on the verge of near-term cash-flow and operating multiple production-stage facilities…
…and yet trading at valuations a mere fraction of its neighbors…
…we realized how big of a story we had uncovered with Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM) and why it’s the perfect play in the new inflation age.
Location, Location, Location
Prime Locations in the World’s Top Mining Destinations
Any single property can make an entire company’s legacy. Now consider Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM), in the short time since its IPO, has already acquired a staggering 17+ properties in prime locations across the world’s top mining jurisdictions.
Their newest Nevada asset includes 18,000 hectares—literally one of the largest land packages in Nevada,79 smack-dab in the middle of the gold region where Barrick and Newmont are operating a joint venture.106
ELEM’s properties stand out in the world’s #1 gold district.
Perhaps more astounding is their Lucero mine which remains one of the highest-grade underground mines in Peru’s history at grades averaging 19.0 g/t Au Equivalent (“Au Eq”) (14.0 g/t gold and 373 g/t silver), and their Machacala Project which averaged production grades of 10.5 g/t Au Eq (6.0 g/t gold and 340 g/t silver). Recent sampling at Lucero returned up to 116.8 g/t Au Eq (78.7g/t Au and 2,856 g/t Ag), truly astounding numbers in today’s age. It’s hard to believe these properties are wrapped within a small unknown company trading at these current prices, but that’s the value of finding these situations before the crowd.
One need look no further than the words of their CEO, stating in plain terms, “the acquisition of these high-grade Peruvian gold assets offers Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM) the opportunity to harness new avenues for near-term cash-flow and take an accelerated path toward potentially operating multiple production-stage facilities,” commented James Tworek, President and CEO of Element79 Gold(CSE:ELEM).
Unknown to most is that Peru has mining-friendly legislation that allows up to 350 tpd production. Once that target is achieved, targeted for the coming 12-24 months, additional production licenses can be obtained to expand production. Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM) has stated that it intends to pursue the opportunities aggressively, and that could spell significant cash-flow for investors.
Investors Win Big
Drill Results Can Net Life-Changing Returns
A few years ago, one of the most explosive stories in junior mining unfolded before our eyes,102 closing the trading day at just $0.72 on August 21st, 2018.
The very next day, drill results were announced showing several stretches of high-grade gold82 and soon **that stock traded up to a high of $17.93.**102
Investors who bought early, before the drill results were announced, turned a modest $40,000 stock purchase into nearly a $1 million dollar windfall at its peak.
Returns like that can be life-changing and it didn’t take a lifetime of saving, it was buying the right stock before the crowd.

The Midas Touch
Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM)’s Assets Within Nevada
With 18,000 hectares—nearly 70 square miles—this is an unusually large land package for a junior miner sitting in a precious-metals hotspot among elephants like Newmont and Barrick.
Here’s what’s most stunning: with tremendous assets and only 82 million shares outstanding,97 Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM)’s current share price is a bargain compared to peers.
Maverick Springs: Gold at Value Prices
Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM)’s latest acquisition, Maverick Springs, is located within the legendary Carlin Trend gold belt92, home of the famed Carlin Mine, the world’s second largest gold mine83 which reported a staggering **1.7 million ounces of gold production in 2020.**91 In fact, this highly-distinguished gold belt has produced over 90 million ounces of gold to date.90 At present gold prices, **that’s in excess of $150 TRILLION dollars worth pulled out of the area.**107 It’s clear as day, Element79 Gold’s claims are in the right place.
In fact, just recently news was released revealing millions of gold equivalent ounces in the ground already. Read the full press release here for details.
Battle Mountain: Upside, Upside, Upside
The Battle Mountain portfolio includes 15 highly prospective properties just to the west, with several early-stage drill holes revealing promising intercepts and high-grade finds.
The majority of the Battle Mountain Projects are located within the Battle Mountain Trend (see figure below), with several Projects in close proximity to world-renowned gold deposits including Nevada Gold’s Cortez Mine, the third largest gold mine in North America93 and the sixth largest in the world, which reported 2020 gold production at 799,000 ounces.91
The same belt of deposits also contains the recently discovered Goldrush complex that, as of 2016, carries measured and indicated resources of 25.2 million tonnes grading 10.6 g/t, representing**8.6 million ounces of gold in the ground.**94 The area is also home to SSR Mining Inc.’s Marigold Mine, which is expected to produce approximately 2.37 million ounces of gold between 2018 and 2028.95
ELEM’s projects highlighted in yellow stars within the legendary belt.
The northernmost Projects in the Battle Mountain Portfolio, the Golconda and Clover Projects, lie just south of the Getchell Gold Belt, which bridges the northwestern ends of the Carlin and Battle Mountain Trends, and contains Nevada Gold’s Turquoise Ridge Mine, the third largest gold mine in the U.S. **with 537,000 oz of gold production reported in 2020.**91
The Brock and Stargo Projects are situated on the southern end of the Austin-Lovelock Trend, southwest of Eureka and northeast from Kinross Gold Corporation’s Round Mountain Mine, which placed as **the fourth largest gold mine in the U.S.**91 and, in November of 2018, poured its 15 millionth ounce of gold since beginning operations in 1978.96
The Fraser Institute just ranked this area as the top jurisdiction in the world for investment based on the Investment Attractiveness Index.55
The Buyout Scenario
Major Players Seeking New Acquisitions
Most major mining companies focus on their expertise, acquiring and bringing new mines online. They leave the exploration of high potential properties to the junior mining companies.
That’s why Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM)’s proximity to so many majors is such a unique opportunity.
In fact, Barrick Gold has directly stated this in their 2020 annual report, *“The Carlin Trend remains a target rich environment. The 2019 program focused on merging massive datasets in support of geological modeling. Drilling was initiated to test highly ranked target concepts as well as establish a geological framework in priority areas lacking drill information. Looking forward, the Carlin Trend will become the most active exploration area in Barrick’s portfolio.“*117
On their own map, you can literally see Barrick and Newmont’s land holdings surrounding Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM)’s Battle Mountain portfolio.
M&A Hungry Neighbors With Deep Pockets
  • Barrick Gold ($35B market cap) paid over $2.3B to acquire Homestake84 which held mines in Nevada85
  • Newmont Corporation ($45B market cap) acquired Fronteer Gold for more than $2B86
  • Nevada Gold Mines is moving quickly to consolidate assets in the area87
With so many majors working alongside you, it’s hard not to be noticed.
Element79 Gold (CSE:ELEM) will undoubtedly be watched closely by all those in the surrounding area and positive drill results could quickly drive Element79 Gold to the top of every major producer’s M&A wish-list.
