2023.06.09 23:49 adv_cyclist Frustrated with Tundra35

I have long delayed the purchase of any maximal insulation cooler... primarily because of the ridiculous price point, but almost equally were the dubious claims of ice retention for days and days without having to refresh.
Well, about a month ago, I was prepping for an ultra distance bike race and got an email from REI for a 20% off coupon that, combined with my member credit, took the price of a Tundra down to about half of MSRP and that was a price I could stomach to see if the reality lived up to the hype.
TL;DR... it doesn't.
I got the cooler a full week before departure, got all my stuff ready to pack for the road trip from N.C. to Kansas, and made certain to fill the cooler completely with ice about 2 days before we left... I mean all the way until I had to clear some for the lid to close and latch. I let that ice sit for two days before deciding to load the cooler for the trip with my sodas, beers, apples, etc... Upon opening the cooler; it was already half melted after just sitting in a 70 degree house... not exactly a resounding mark in its favor but I had a trip to pack for and so loaded it up back to full with all the food, drink, and topped it off with ice once more.
The drive took about 23 hours where the cooler never left the back hatch of the SUV, was never opened, and wasn't exposed to the sun. By the time we arrived in Kansas to unpack the car, there was zero ice left and everything was floating in cold water... UGH!
Go find an ice dispensing station, shell out another few bucks to refill the cooler on Wednesday, place all the stuff back in it and left it again until the race started on Saturday. Pre-race check on Friday night to stuff my water bottles in the cooler and it's half melted again... WTF?! I shoved all the water bottles I could fit in there, drained off some of the water so it wouldn't saturate my dry food that I wanted to stay chilled and, you guessed it; bought more ice to top it off.
Back in the hatch it went and, throughout all of my race day, every time I would open the cooler to grab a bottle of water, the ice was depleting even faster.
We spent another 5 days after the race on a road trip through TX, then back to NC and had to refill the cooler with ice two more times to keep everything cold.
I am beyond frustrated with this purchase and would really like to know if I got a defective cooler that's missing all its insulation (hopefully not considering its weight empty), or if they changed the type of insulation and they don't retain ice as well??? What say the collective? I'm prepared to return it and find another solution, but wanna know if my experience is unusual?

2023.06.09 23:49 renk78 21 [M4F] #SJ - latino wants fwb

Im looking for a fwb, summer fling. I’ll tell you a little about myself. Im a 21yr latino, 5’8 in good shape. I can send a pic of myself but I expect you to do the same.
To get straight to the point, I’m mostly looking to explore and just have fun. I consider myself to be pretty relaxed and a respectable guy. I do want to explore some kinks this summer.
I’m looking for only females, no males. I don’t really mind age as long as your over 18. It would be super hot if your older than me as I’ve always found something for older woman. I enjoy sucking on breasts also if you need that.
I cannot host but I can drive so maybe car play or split a hotel? Also, we can do it in more discreet places as it would add more excitement. If i caught your interest, send me a message.
I like latinas, asians, white.

2023.06.09 23:48 Whatitdo1219 Model Y delivery :(

Is it common for the delivery day to be pushed back? Im impatient and excited about getting my model Y but starting to get annoyed af. First when I went into a Tesla Store. The guy said yeah we have one available at this location that’s like an hour away, I was too tired from an earlier travel and he said they can just drive it down to me. So I agreed and waited while I was filling out stuff on the app.
Then he called me and said, actually the car is not there yet, it’ll get there the ~8th. I said ugh fine one week I guess… then got contacted again that actually will get here the 15th or 16th…
Now I’m worried, pissed and stressed out… is this normal??
I’m also scared to drive my current car because they appraised it the highest out of anywhere else I checked for trade-in… and I have anxiety that something could happen if I drive it too much.

2023.06.09 23:47 GoldDog7532 super simple question

i’m pretty positive I just barely ran a red light in illinois and was caught by a red light camera. The car I was driving isnt’t in my name, will points be added to by dads license since he owns the car or not. I’ve tried getting an answer online and I see people saying that no points will be added since you cannot prove who was driving. But i’ve also seen that in illinois 20 points will be added and their license could be suspended? Help me please.
I am 17 btw if that matters

2023.06.09 23:46 Clandestine33 Need recommendations for a cat-back for my '18 WRX!

Bonjour mes ami! I have acquired a Cobb Accessport V3 and SF Intake for my thus-far stock car. They will be installed once I have the missing link, the aforementioned cat-back exhaust. I would like something that will work well in conjunction with the components I already have, and also something on the more subtle side as opposed to aggressive sounding as I don't really feel like being pulled over unnecessarily lol. My budget cap is $2,000 CDN, so I am looking forward to putting more pep in its step! Thank you kindly in advance!

2023.06.09 23:46 Crishien What specific term do you guys search for when looking for job opportunities?

For the longest time now I've been trying to find myself an industrial/product design position, in like actual physical product space.
I feel like it's only getting harder and harder day by day.
Maybe it's just country specific (Czechia) but all the availabile jobs that use any of the terms such as product, industrial, design, creative are always refering to UX, building construction, software, electronics or even car seat stitching, out of all things. And none of those positions look for people who operate with rhino, inventor or blender.
I'm just frustrated at this point. Either design positions no longer exist or HR departments completely changed the naming and I'm just searching for an outdated term.
Like it can't be applied arts, can it?
BTW, if a position involves "furniture design" it's the "helping customers choose the correct overpriced kitchen cabinets from our catalog, but we actually never reply to any applicants whatsoever" type of gig.
Even the site which is hugely prominent in Czech design space (litteraly named CzechDesign.cz) has 0 positions in jobs section.
Am I out of luck here? Should I move to China or US? I don't even know where they design things anymore...
Anyway, sorry for the rant. I'm I dire need of help here :)

2023.06.09 23:45 jptothetree Group N Trans Mount + Whiteline Shift Kit + Torque Solutions Diff Mount Insert = 💸💸💸

So I've had my WRX since December 2021 and have only recently starting doing any of these drivetrain mods... bottom line is I really wish I had done them sooner. This combination right here is fantastic!!
My main concern was keeping increases to NVH a minimum, since it's my daily. However, I will break it down like this:
Noise:: It's only marginally louder in the car, really not a big deal
Vibration:: The difference is noticeable, but not enough for me to have any complaints about
Harshness:: I honestly think the car is smoother now 🧐 Somehow this has helped my suspension feel more... composed? The car literally doesn't get "flustered" by road imperfections as much. This was the most surprising thing to me, and I still don't really understand how it's possible
Overall, the car just feels more poised out there! Throttle response has definitely improved, and shifting just feels fantastic now. Definitely a great "driver's mod" because there's just a more visceral feeling to the car now... and I love that.
Overall super happy with this combo and I would suggest to all the other newbies (like me) to not ignore these types of mods! It's nothing too crazy / overkill for a daily and installation is pretty straightforward. These types of mods are "invisible" but so great for the driving experience 🤘 Definitely among the best mods I've ever done to this thing... and I really do wish I had done them sooner haha.
Godspeed!

2023.06.09 23:45 Small-Objective9248 Renting a car for the day?

I’m coming to the city for a week, staying on the lower east side. I need to rent a car for a day to visit cemeteries which is impractical with public transit. I plan to rent a car for a day (on a Sunday) hopefully returning it at the end of the day before they close or dropping in an after hours lot.
While I grew up driving in the city, I’ve never rented a car in Manhattan. Is my best bet to stay with the big car rental places like an Avis or enterprise or are their better “local” options Im not aware of For the day use of a car.
thanks!

2023.06.09 23:45 B4n3va51on In Switzerland, does a private business need to have height warning signage on a roof over the carpark out the front of the shop?

Hello,
We are tourists currently travelling through your beautiful country, we have had an accident were we have damaged our motorhome roof on the underside edge of a roof over a row of parked cars. We pulled off the road to check the gps and made contact with the roof. There were no height warning signs or marking tape along the edge to show any danger. I don't know how high it was, but I would estimate it at around 3m in height.
In our country, anywhere a vehicle can freely travel, any height lower than 4m needs to be marked with a red and white striped edge at minimum, usually also with a height sign stating the clearance.
I am curious if this is also a requirement in Switzerland, as well as if its something that matters because it was private property, yet always accessible by any vehicle as its on the side of the road completely open to anyone.
I am NOT looking for some kind of get out of trouble pass, but if I can show that the owner of the roof is partially to blame, then I have a better position to negotiate a fair price for the repair. I'm already up for an expensive repair on my van which is going to hurt my wallet.
The damage is very minimal to their sturcture, only needing some paint, but they are claiming the entire side of the roof edge needs to be replaced.
I also acknowledge that nobody here is a lawyer and no legal advice is being given.
Thanks.

2023.06.09 23:45 rrp2223 [M4F] The accident and a new lift after it.

Amanda (name can be changed to anything) was normal normal 22 year old. She lived a normal life. She was a talented hockey player and it was her passion. She was also quite intelligent working her way towards hopefully medical school. She lives in a small apartment on the fringe of the city her parents had both past away now years ago.
Overall you would say her life was together and heading in only the write direction. Well everything changed one day when a drive along one of the country roads to the old boat house by the lake turned to tragedy. She had always loved the spot, quite and peaceful she went there to think. But today as the rain fell slowly and the roads where slippery she lost focus for only a moment. She saw a car coming towards her and yanked the wheel. But it was to much. Her car lost traction rolled and crashed into a tree.
Her life was changed in that moment for ever. She would never be the same.
This story follows that of Amanda after the accident. It can start at any point after the accident and go in any direction. The key is her life will never be the same. As she grappled with this life shattering realisation and loss of independence she will meet my character. Who I am open to suggestions for their role and connection to her. This is a redemption love story in the most difficult of circumstances. Message me if your interested.

2023.06.09 23:44 unlistedhacker I am proud of myself for having $400 in my savings account.

I just graduated high school yesterday and I've been trying to save $4000 for a car. Two months ago I was stressed because I had no income and no money. But having worked for a few weeks recently I managed to save $400. I used to blow away all my checks in the same week but I haven't been doing that lately. I'm not rich, I'm not at my goal, but I'm closer than I was a few months ago and I know as each week passes by, I'll be even closer. Now I'm motivated to make even more money

2023.06.09 23:44 throwRA12349594 My boyfriend (M23) said he doesn’t care if I (F21) were dead. Do I need to quit my job?

My boyfriend (M23) And I (F21) have been dating for 4 years. It has always been Nice but lately he’s been colder than usual like ‘the alpha male’.
Im in college so I started working at the emergency room in the evenings (till 10/11) to make money. He got upset with me that I don’t behave a like good female because I want to work in the evenings. He also said that if I keep working in the evenings and god forbid something happens that he won’t care. His words were ‘idc if they find you dead in a lake the next morning because you chose not to listen to my advice (of not working in evenings.’ I don’t know what to do right now. Btw i have a car and I always use my car when I go to work. Do I need to quit my job or do I need to work it out.
Whenever I don’t follow his advice he acts like this. Like he doesn’t care about me anymore. He says that he does this for my protection.. I just don’t know anymore. Should I just quit my job?
TLDR: read title

2023.06.09 23:44 accountingstuden How do I go about getting a car looked at by a mechanic before purchasing?

Do I just go in a shop and ask them to quote a price? What would I need them to be able to look for? I'm looking at a car with a positive carfax, but could there be issues with the vehicle that carfax did not pick up?

2023.06.09 23:43 Redusk1907 My parents laugh and talk about me when they think I can’t hear them

I get im not what they expect as a child, especially as it’s my dad and my step mum, who’s never liked me ever since she met me as a kid but I have to act so dumb and quiet whenever I’m around them just so they don’t have much reason to laugh about how stupid I am downstairs when they think I can’t hear them from my room. Which they then complain about me not spending family time with them and my sisters who are really loud and spoilt, which is not how I was raised from my mothers side and so their loudness tends to drain me. Sorry, off topic, but I guess my main issue is that I just don’t seem to do anything right? As in they’ll find anything possible to laugh about me for, example, about 20 mins ago my dad picked me up and I said hello n that and went to my room. About 5 mins ago, I hear him saying about how I’m pretending to be smart on a topic he brought up himself in the car and then laughing with my stepmum?
If you want to know what it is; he asked why mountains aren’t forming right now everywhere. So I said I was confused and answered him. He was laughing about how I told him how plates work and how I took geography. And not in a jokey way. It’s such a small thing but it’s just tiring to be as soon as I get in the house that he starts spouting random stuff about me. It doesn’t matter how dumb or smart I act, they’ll always find something.
But then again hormones and shit innit so I need to know if I’m overthinking it and if this is normal for parents to do.

2023.06.09 23:43 Howl1ngD34th1 1998 Chevrolet S-10 Truck

4 Cylinder Car
Hey! I have a odd problem. So, I can start the car and drive it for however long I want. Then intermittently, when I shut it off, it won’t do anything. If I let it sit for a bit, it’ll crank up fine and drive home. Alternatively, I have jumped it once when it was in that state. I thought it was a flat battery but the tester said it was fine. I also tried to crank it in neutral when it acted up but no dice. When they key is on when it acts up all the lights are on and the dash lights are on. Just nothing happens. I just wanted to ask incase someone has had this happen. It’ll help save me some time before I have to go in and start checking all the starting circuit and such.
Any advise will be appreciated!

2023.06.09 23:43 danblez Audi A5 TDi intel

Audi A5 TDi intel
Hi all, looking for a second car for the wife and the only car on the road she apparently approves of is the A5.
I don’t know a lot about these although I don’t hear great things in general about aging leggy Audis.
Is this likely to be ok for a few more years or a world of pain, it’s done 95k?
Anything I should be looking out for apart from the usual condition, hpi check and decent history?
Thanks a lot.
