I’m watching all these guides because I suck at this game, I’m mimicking exactly what I should be doing by placing the line at where the ship meets the water, hitting ships on perfect broadsides and do like, 500 damage. It’s starting to piss me off because I literally cannot tell what I’m doing differently.

i (23f) have recently been diagnosed with adhd after a year of speculating i might have it. anyway, i started taking bupropion in february; my psychiatrist explained to me that i should start off with these "weaker" meds before moving on to stimulants/addictive meds. she also explained to me that bupropion is actually an anti-depressant, but that it can be used for adhd because it increases dopamine levels. she also told me that it takes a while for them to "kick in", so there wouldnt really be a difference for the first ~2 weeks.
a month after i started taking bupropion, i had another appointment with her, to discuss whether they worked or not. well... they did absolutely nothing for me. i couldn't feel the least bit of a difference in focus or motivation. i have to add that february was somewhat holiday season for me, since my summer semester at uni starts in march, but i did want to study for upcoming exams and work on my bachelor thesis. i couldn't motivate myself to do either of those things.
i told my psychiatrist exactly that and also mentioned that i hadn't felt any negative side effect. she said that that's good, because no side effects means i could try a higher dosis, to see if it would help. she also said that if it didn't help, i should tell her and we would try different meds.
anyway, it's been a while since i've been taking the higher dosis, and once again... nothing. i continuously catch myself losing focus during class. i cannot get anything done once i come home after uni (and mind you, my classes don't last all day; i just simply have no motivation to do my work and end up doom scrolling through instagram reels).
i have emailed my psychiatrist about this, as she said that i should update her before easter holidays, and she did say that she could email me receipts for meds (whether for bupropion in case it works or a different set of meds). well... she sent me a receipt for bupropion again. she upped my dosis again, and told me to now take 300mg+150mg daily to see if it would help. i'm not gonna lie, i was disappointed upon receiving this email. it's been so long (to me) since i've started taking meds, and they haven't made the least bit of a difference. i feel so tired. i just wanna get done with my bachelors; it's already taking me so long thanks to untreated adhd. and with each month i get nothing done, i feel worse about myself, and more guilty about being unable to get up and do some work. i really wish i could tell myself "just get up and go get it done!", it just doesn't work. and honestly, i don't believe a higher dosis of bupropion will work; if 300mg haven't showed the least bit of improvement, i don't thing 450mg will suddenly make me hugely productive. my guess is i'd have to keep going up with the dosis, at which point i think, what's the point of taking a huge amount of these meds if the outcome is gonna be so little?
i know i probably sound impatient, but i'm in such a low right now and i'm just praying for productiveness to somehow come my way. i'm trying really hard, i am. but i also don't see a point in taking higher and higher dosages of medicine that simply doesn't seem to work.

For starters, my dog (a rescue Lhasa Apso mix) is really, really dumb. We love her but she is just not smart. She has always done things like go through an open door to the kitchen, then sit in front of the other (closed) door and bark to be let out.
Well, she is 11 1/2 now and has developed diabetes and she suddenly went blind. We are working with a vet on her blood sugar, but how do I get her used to being blind?
Some of the things she's doing now -
Sit under my chair and bark until I pick her up and put her on a beanbag that's literally three feet away and which has been in the same place for years.
Bump into our other dog and assume he's a wall (she turns around and goes the other direction and acts like there is an obstacle where she bumped into him, even though he's moved on).
Get "stuck" in place and sit down and bark until someone picks her up or carefully leads her to the next room.
Fall off the porch, repeatedly, due to not figuring out where the edges are.
Bark at a wall hoping to be let back inside (several feet away from the actual door).
Everything I've read about blindness in dogs says they get used to it quickly and they'll be fine as long as you don't confuse them by moving things around. Well, it's been two months and she is still very, very confused about how to navigate in this house she's lived in most of her life. Any suggestions?

I want to introduce nextflick.io to you, a website I made that shows you a random movie trailer, so you can find out what to watch next:

Technically, Nextflick is a rather simple website. There is no JavaScript (besides what YouTube uses in their embed). Everything is rendered on the server-side. Movies are scraped from the TMDB API and dumped into a NoSQL database. When you request a page, a random movie is selected and it shows you a YouTube embed with a respective trailer.
If you want to know more about the movie, you can look it up on IMDB or find out where to watch it with the click of a button.
Even though this may seem like such a simple tool, I am immensely proud of it. It is my first project I ever finished, and I had this idea in my head for over 5 years. Sadly I am suffering from a bad load of perfectionism, which always got in the way of shipping anything, until today.
I deliberately chose to create something that is small and straightforward. I chose Go as a language because it helps me enormously to "get sh*t done". I don't have to think about too many language constructs or idiomatic ways of how to achieve something. I can simply write down my thoughts. I love the error handling as well, it makes me worry less about unexpected errors because the API pretty much tells me exactly where they happen and I can handle them right then and there.
For the database, NoSQL helped me even more to keep things simple. Since there are no write operations happening on the website itself, it can be used in a readonly mode. If I want to download a new set of movies from TMDB, I simply write everything into a new NoSQL file and then swap the old against the new.
I am a very privacy-concerned person. So I chose not to embed Google Analytics or anything of that sort. Server access logs totally suffice for my use case. I chose Uberspace as my web host, they anonymise all IP addresses in their logs. The YouTube embed is happening through their youtube-nocookie.com domain.
I consciously did not implement any sort of filters (for now). I wanted the experience to mimic that of going to your local cinema: you see a set of random trailers, some of them you won't like, but maybe one will stick. You might end up watching a movie you never thought to look for in the first place.
There are currently 5.546 movies in the database. This number seems a bit low to me, given that TMDB has over 1.000.000 movies stored. However, I applied some criteria to the movies I imported in order to achieve a certain amount of quality:

• They needed to have a trailer (duh!) that already removed a huge amount
• They needed not to be flagged as "adult" (you will still find horror movies and such though)
• They needed to have an average TMDB user rating of over 6.5 to filter out low quality results
  • I realise that there are quite a few people who are interested in "crappy" B-movies. Pending feedback, I might be willing to reconsider this.
• I excluded certain genres like live music or documentaries
• They needed to be released, so you can actually go and watch them
• They needed to have a runtime of at least 80 mins, I didn't want to include short films for now
• They needed to be released after 1965
  • I know that there are a lot of gems from before that time, however, I felt that most of the older ones didn't have proper trailers, or at least not of the sort as we would expect them today, so it felt a bit off to include them
• They needed to be in English (for now, if people like it I might add more languages later on)

There are also some outstanding issues I have not addressed yet:

• YouTube shows the full title of the video name in the embed, this kinda gives away the surprise of watching the trailer until the end. However, since they disabled the option to hide video information, I was not able to find an easy fix for this
• Some YouTube videos are marked as "private" or are not available in certain countries, so you will see an error every now and then. I might need to start using YouTube's API to filter these out
• Trailers do not autoplay in Safari and Firefox
  • This one is unfortunate, as it negatively affects the experience of browsing through the trailers. As much as I hate these kind of disclaimers, for now the best browser to use would probably be Chrome. Unless someone has any ideas of how I could fix this?
• I tried my best to reach very good Lighthouse results. Oddly enough, the YouTube embed itself performs really poorly by loading megabytes of JavaScript and is flagged by it
• Some movies are flagged incorrectly by TMDB, you might end up seeing some movies that are actually not precisely following the criteria I mentioned above

All in all I would love to hear some feedback from you. Is this useful? Is it not? If not, why not? What would you do bettedifferently? What feature are you missing?

Between 10,000 Years ago and 200 years ago (Crucible Era) * During this time of chaos without the Elden ring many civilisations rose up from the crucible. They were Godwyn the first born, Morgott and Mohg the Omen Twins, and Melina. * Melina was chosen to be an empyrean and became the Gloam Eyed Queen, and with her Godskin Apostles which were artificial life forms made from alchemy, she declared war on Marika and succeeded in Burning the Crucible with her Ghost Flame capable of killing gods. * With the burning of the crucible it could no longer produce any bounty and the Capital of Leyndell was filled with Ash. * When Marika defeated the Gloam Eyed Queen she burned her as punishment and took all her memories leaving her a wondering soul, burned and bodiless * As a way to ensure something like this never happened again Marika sealed away Destined Death (the source of the ghost flame) into her Shadow Bound Beast Maliketh * With the sealing of death Marika had created a new order, a Golden Order. Seeing Grand Theft Auto VI or Red Dead Redemption 3 in the future is a pretty safe bet considering those are Rockstar’s biggest IPs. The fan-favorite game from Rockstar, Bully, may not get the same treatment, however. Leakers have reported that Bully 2 got the axe back in 2017 due to its more popular franchises taking development priority. Does that mean it cannot be revived, though?
In late December, Rockstar insider Tez2 went to the GTA forums to explain a little bit of what happened at Rockstar since 2014. He claims that GTA VI was in “pre-production back in 2015, so development probably didn't kick off until 2016 or 2017, but shortly after that, the pace slowed down due to RDR2 increased focus and Bully 2.” Then, Bully 2 was cancelled in 2017, likely to focus on GTA and Red Dead Redemption 2. Another insider, Yan2295, corroborated this information in a Reddit post on /GamingLeaksAndRumours. yan2295 twitter 2 Now that Red Dead Redemption 2 is out, it seems the major hold up for Bully 2 is GTA VI, which may have its own production issues. Yan2295 took to Twitter recently, reporting that GTA VI is in development, but it will not be coming anytime soon. This contradicts other reports about GTA VI, so it seems no one knows what is happening, including Yan. When asked about Bully 2, however, Yan said that it was a dead game.
While Bully 2 could be a dead game, for now, the Red Dead Redemption team could be working on other projects besides GTA VI. Alternatively, Rockstar could revive the game in the future, but it will not likely be in the next couple of years. Ultimately, we will probably see GTA VI come before Bully 2, but weirder things have happened, and nothing would surprise us at this point.

A bit long but if you have any comments. I’ll be greatly appreciated. Last year around the this time both of my grandparents had Covid and was hospitalized. Both of them recovered after two weeks and returned home. Later on my grandpa fall sick coughing, low oxygen and couldn’t breathe. We went to doctor and was told he had infected lungs and returned home. He didn’t look good for the next couple days so we told him to get hospitalized under doctor supervision. At this point he denied and cried out to let him be and he would love to be sick and if worse passed at home. We insist and take him anyway. A week later he passed at the hospital. During all of this his wife my grandma was there all along.
Almost a year now.Last night, she fell on her knee and broke her ankle as a result. Tonight she couldn’t breathe at all, her breathing sounds off + she’s very confuse and she extremely tired from speaking. We take her to another hospital..she was asked to be in an ICU at the moment. We allowed to have a few words with her before took off. She cried and said this which struck with me so bad.
“Please let me cough, tired, and breathless if I have to at home.” I don’t want to be here. I want to go home” she continues with confusion mix between the past and present and cry out again while trying to pull the tube and etc.. she was pre-diagnosed to have lungs infected. We will hear more about it tomorrow morning.
My confusion and what struck me most is her cry out like that. I don’t know if this showing her being scared of the situation and whatever going on. Or if this some omen, that we should bring her home. My heart want her to get better but damn we all still hurt with what happen last year.
My brain proceed to continue with questions like…am I doing a good things, having her at hospital or am I doing a bad thing to take her away from her comfort zone , places she love the most. I. Don’t know want to do how to feel anymore.

I got my Helix Floor used last August and as soon as I plugged in the mic in XLR cable the little release mechanism snapped off. I figured no big deal - the mic and phantom power still worked. I just couldn't remove the xlr cable. Well, you will be absolutely shocked to find out that the mic in no longer works after a few days travelling with the Helix.
I'm a singer-songwriter and my setup includes a mic, guitar and drum machine all running through the Helix. Since the mic in broke, I've been running my mic through a separate mixer (for phantom power) and then sending that mixer to a return on the helix so I can use my presets. Now, I'm not a gearhead and maybe I'm missing something but it sounds like shit and the mic is behaving very differently. I have to do a high cut to prevent my monitors/environment from causing feedback, while this was not a problem at a similar volume before (and, no, I was *not* setting an input threshold on my mic in prior to switching it to a return). Also a big part of the utility of the Helix for me is not having to set up a bunch of separate hardware to get playing; I don't want to have to drag around this external mixer just to get phantom power on my mic.
Anyway, I started a support ticket three days ago with Line 6. I've heard nothing and even if I do, this will require a disassembly and solder job to replace the mic in so I'm not expecting it to be cheap. I really, really want to keep using the Helix but I'm considering switching to a different brand because I'm afraid the mic in is just some cheapo part that will keep breaking. My cursory google search yielded nothing and I don't have experience soldering myself. Anyone replace this part or have suggestions? Or does anyone who doesn't need the mic in want to trade me for my unit plus some extra money?
