TW: incest, rape, sa, physical abuse, suicide
EDIT: we're both adults currently
So just to preface, my brother and I are two years apart. I don't know if this counts as sexual abuse, but ever since he did what he did to me, I haven't been able to be touched. By anyone. I break out in cold sweats every time someone tries to. I throw up whenever a guy even expresses romantic interest in me. I have not been able to date. I felt so numb throughout my middle school and high school years, hypervigilant and on edge.
Because it's COCSA, no one ever took it seriously. I lie about my sexual abuse story. I say it was by someone who was much oldean imaginary cousin. Is that wrong of me to do? I just can't stand to be laughed at anymore. They'd always laugh when I told them & I just can't bear it anymore. I also in some twisted way am trying to protect my brother. I don't want people that know him to think poorly of him, so I say it was a distant cousin (that isn't real) - I don't want to ruin my family.
They all love him so much - I can't take that away from them. I have OCD and my brain has latched onto this running theme that I'm one of those girls that lie about being SA'd. Is it okay to alter the story? I don't even know anymore. Maybe my cousins even did hurt me - I remember more than one person SA'ing me, but I can hardly remember a thing.
I remember the most about my brother. I remember the feeling of his body on top of mine, naked. I remember the feeling of him strangling me. I remember how he smelled when he did it, how he coerced me, how he tricked my parents - I remember a lot.
I hate that he knew he couldn't penetrate me because that could get me pregnant - if he knew that, he must've known that this behavior was wrong. He showed me pornography, told me that we'd be married someday, that he loved me (I HATE that he made it romantic at times - somehow I'd prefer being manipulated to that).
I hate that he gets to have a girlfriend. I hate that he excels in school, while I can barely concentrate. I hate that I can barely function. I hate that when I finally got the courage to tell my mother, she brushed it off as "children experimenting." I hate that I went to him at times for sex. I hate that I stripped down for him. I hate it all.
He was in 3rd-6th grade when it happened (I think - he could've been older, younger). I was in 1st-4th. I'm pretty sure it finally stopped when I was in fifth grade as I put my foot down and told him to leave me alone, but I still recall him sneaking into my room at times. Who knows how long it actually went on for? My childhood is a blur.
My parents would make jokes later on about me having night terrors, about me screeching at the top of my lungs for him to get out of my room, thinking it was sibling rivalry - oh, if only they knew (well now I guess one of them does, but she just doesn't care enough).
I got groomed by men on the internet next. One guy even hacked into my laptop because I refused to give him cybersex. 3 boys at my high school threatened to rape me, called me a whore, and groped me/choked me.
I did awful things afterwards - I got weirdly both hypersexual and prudish. I'd randomly expose myself to people on the internet. When I went to summer camp in middle school, I had no qualms about stripping naked in front of the girls I was boarding with (the normal thing to do would've been to change in the bathroom). This is all when I was 13-14 - I knew better. I had to have.
I also almost molested a pet at that age- that I hate more than anything. I loved her so much, picked her out myself - it breaks my fucking heart. I don't even know why I did it and I never went through with it, but I showed her my boobs, practically shoved them in her face, and that's enough for me. I wondeworry if she felt like how I did - I hope not. She's passed now, but I cry about it all the time. It makes me want to kill myself. I've tried a few times in the past, but could never go through with it.
I got diagnosed a few times with Autoimmune Encephalitis/Dementia over the years. It also leads to me being sexually weird (and it breaks my heart all over again). I can't help but wonder if that's what was going on when I did all of those terrible things (as inappropriate sexual behavior can be a symptom) or if I'm just trying to avoid accountability. I got better with steroids, but I still have tics.
My brother got therapy. He turned out okay - better than okay. He's charming and everyone loves him. He treated me so nicely that I let the past fade up until the other day.
We were debating about something when he got annoyed and said, "I will literally rape you again if you don't shut up." My stomach literally sank. I don't remember being raped by him, but maybe he did. This is the first time he's ever brought it up. I thought he didn't remember. He seemed so cold when he said it and distant.
(Another faint memory I have: I remember being a kid and worrying about being pregnant. I got my period very young - at 8 - and I can just recall panicking over it).
He didn't even say anything afterwards - not "that was just a joke" or anything like that. There was just silence.
It's like I have two brother's - the one that sexually abused me, the one that would get this empty look in his eyes, and the one that makes me laugh, that's charming, that shares the same interests as me, and promises that he'll always look out for me.
I'm just so fucking confused. I could use some input here. I know this is a lot of text, so you can skim if you want, but I just needed to get it all off my chest. I feel horrible, all the time. I feel like I don't deserve help because of the things I did afterwards. I probably traumatized so many people.
Is this even bad? Is my trauma even valid? I can't tell. I feel like no one would ever want to date me/marry me/be my friend if they knew the truth about me. I'm a terrible person - I deserve to die.

2023.06.10 07:11 fido42024 Seeking Career Advice: Fire Protection Engineer Looking to Expand Skill Set. What are your thoughts please?
Hey Reddit community,
I hope you're all doing well. I'm a fire protection engineer with 8 years of experience in suppression and detection system design. I've always had a passion for fire engineering, and I'm seeking some advice on how to further develop my skills and make myself more valuable in the job market.
After completing my master's degree at a prestigious university in the US, I worked for a consulting firm for two years. Unfortunately I couldn't secure a H1B visa after three attempts. As a result, my company relocated me to the Middle East. While I'm grateful for the opportunity, I want to ensure that I continue to grow professionally and remain challenged in my career.
At 32 years old, turning 33 this October, I feel a strong urge to expand my knowledge and explore new areas within fire engineering. I'm currently contemplating two different paths, and I would greatly appreciate your insights and advice.
Firstly, I'm considering pursuing certification in fire engineering, such as obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license. This would enhance my credibility and demonstrate my expertise in the field. However, I'm also curious about exploring other avenues that connect fire engineering with problem-solving skills.
One idea that has piqued my interest is learning programming and gradually gaining skills in artificial intelligence (AI). By combining my fire engineering background with AI, I believe I could potentially tackle pressing issues like forest fires or develop innovative solutions such as firefighter goggles. However, I must admit that venturing into a new career path is intimidating, and I'm unsure if it's the right move for me.
Ultimately, I don't want to settle for a typical 9 to 5 job. I have a deep desire to continue learning and gaining knowledge. I believe that with the right guidance and support, I can take on any course of study. However, I can't shake off the feeling that I might be too old to embark on a new path.
Therefore, I turn to you, the Reddit community, for your valuable advice. If any of you have faced a similar crossroads in your careers or have insights into the fire engineering field? I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Should I pursue a PE certification to solidify my expertise and after that dive into the realm of programming and AI to address fire engineering challenges? or should I do MBA and somehow change my career trajectory? Whenever I tell my friends or relatives that I'm a fire protection engineer, they think lowly of me. Some of them even expressed their thoughts out loud saying - oh so you're the safety engineer on a building construction site. Which gets me a bit worried. Being an Asian Indian, any career apart from that in finance, software engineering or data analysis is thought of lowly in my social strata. What are some of your thoughts on this?
I eagerly await your guidance and suggestions. Thank you in advance for your support!
Best regards,

2023.06.10 06:56 jackanus moving to nyc, leaving my car. am I insane?
Hello!
I'll be moving to NYC for grad school (performance/composition degree) in the fall, and I think I'm going to leave my car (SUV). While I could conceivably get street parking somewhat-kind-of near my apartment, most people I've talked to have said it's more trouble than it's worth (alternating sides every week, monetary costs, etc.).
I have also heard from bassist friends up there that it's doable to ride the subway with a bass. Also, I'll (thankfully) have a locker on campus where I'll leave my good bass, and I'll be able to keep my beateoutside-gig-bass at home. So I'll just commute with an instrument for gigs; it's not gonna be an everyday thing (though hopefully, the gigs do become somewhat frequent, lol).
I kinda just can't wrap my head around walking around to subway stops and riding the train being the way I move around with this thing. But I've also heard people do it, and *many* people have told me not to bring a car. Would love to hear the thoughts of any bassists who've lived/spent time in the city!
Also, I'm thinking about a better solution to weatherproofing my bass if/when I need to move around in rain/snow. Not something I have to deal with currently, so all I have is a soft case, and I'm worried about the resilience of that/if it will protect the instrument from the more extreme weather conditions of NYC compared to my current climate (DFW area).
Sorry for the novel, lmao. Much 2 think about. Appreciate y'all's thoughts!

2023.06.10 06:13 Ok-Interest2668 AITJ? (The situation is so confusing I can't come up with anything.)
Before we start, I will be using placeholder names, not their real names.
Warning: maybe a little too long. (the "Too Long; Didn't read" is at the end.)
Ok, so I am a sensitive 5th grader, because sometimes I cry because i don't like people yelling at me. Sometimes i cry because some teachers pick on me. Example: when i forget something they say they are worried for me (i am a top student btw, but my memory at times is not so good.) out loud. This makes mostly everyone in my class just look and I hate being looked at in public so sometimes after i get sent back to my desk, i just put my head down, and do my work while i silently cry.
I am not that popular in my school, many people (not everyone, about 1/3 in my class (5-7) kinda think i'm annoying. But there is somebody who everyone (except 1 kid), including me, thinks he is very cringy and annoying. Let's call this kid Hank. Now, apart from being a crybaby, i'm also not that soft myself, if i wanted to, i could roast anyone so bad, they would have to come up with a roast so bad that i don't even have a comeback for it, or they would have to steal mine.
Anyway, back to Hank. Barely anyone likes Hank, I actually used to be friends with Hank, but seeing how he has become cringe and annoying, i stopped being friends with him. (Hank is in 7th grade btw when i was his friend he was in 6th) I then became someone who would roast him on a daily basis if I had to. (Hank actually once almost pushed me down the stairs but that's another story.) Sometimes, in mandarin class, we would team up on this much cringier and annoying kid. Sometimes i would comment on some things that he would do very frequently because it was cringe and unnecessary. (Not just me but quite literally almost the whole class but since he knew i wasn't lying he usually yelled at me,or that is what i think.)
Hank would always bring balloons to school. This other kid in the same grade as him, let's call him Alan, accidentally popped his balloon. Consequently, Hank chased him down. I followed and spectated the situation while commenting. However I was talking to Alan, not Hank. I told Hank I was not talking to him and if I that offended him that I was sorry and that I didn't mean to hurt him but I was very clearly talking to Alan. I thought Hank would brush it off and continue chasing Alan down and ignore me, God knows i couldn't have been more wrong. Few minutes later, I said to Alan that it's quite sad to see this happen. Then Hank walked up, and hit me. I hit him back (self defense) and told him I already said I was not talking to him. But Hank grabbed me and yelled at me to leave him alone even though i was not doing anything wrong!
So it was quite literally a 7th grader attacking a 5th grader for no reason. I told on him with a teacher, then that teacher told me to tell my homeroom teacher, which i did. Then Hank said that he already said that he was sorry very angrily and yelled at me asking if i wanted a party because he said sorry. Newsflash ladies and gentlemen, I had already accepted his apology. So, Am I the Jerk?
TL;DR: Kid thinks i'm talking to him, hits me, and when i fight back, he attacks me and yells at me for no reason.

2023.06.10 05:32 Worried_Lunch9606 Can a depressive episode seem rational?
I feel awful making multiple posts here but that seems to kind of be the theme of this subreddit so I hope it's okay. I apologize in advance for all the words, the full context I feel is very important.
He broke up with me on the 29th of May suddenly and then packed all my stuff up at the apartment and dropped it off on the 31st. He tried to break up with me March 1st but we had just recently moved and that was full of fights and pain but we got through it and April and May were so happy and wonderful.
No matter what I said on either day though in May I couldn't get through to him. Both days we had a conversation for hours. Me, trying hard to tell him all the solutions to these problems he was bringing up or the fact that I just couldn't have done anything about one of them at that time. Telling him I'd take a break for as long as he needed, I'd watch the pets if he wanted to travel, I'd go to couples therapy, begging him to just think about it and him telling me he's thought about it, and telling me "sometimes even though two people love each other its not enough" as if we had been fighting for months or had irreconcilable differences in life paths. He expressed that it did not come from a desire to be single, that he needed to be alone, needed to "find himself', that there wasnt someone else, that he loved me so much, etc.
We had been cry laughing together on the 27th. And a few days prior he wrote some songs with a friend he had been planning with for years and wrote in lyrics that were references to things we liked, and he was so excited to show me and get my opinion. These are serious recordings that will be released at some point. The night before he was worried I hated him for something and wanted my hugs and comfort. The next morning he was different and I said "This relationship is good and it works!" and he shouted back "Maybe for you!" Saying things like he thought I could see it coming and that it would be mutual. And I feel so insane still. He was crying his eyes out saying he was breaking his own heart too, and when he dropped off my stuff he hugged me 3-4 times for so long and tried to comfort me. He said that yes theres a part of him that wants to try but he cant, even though I kept making him cry by bringing up all the plans we had. He said that when the good moments were good they were really good but the bad moments were really bad. Which isn't even really true. I am a stable, healthy and patient individual. I dont name call, I dont raise my voice.
We've texted twice, once about the stuff he gave me, and the other was me asking if he blocked me somewhere. Both times he seemed put together and calm which freaked me out. Maybe hes fine without me, maybe this is truly something he wanted. But just last April we were having a wonderful time. He worked so hard for my birthday, he got sad at the end of the month and made a joke about running away together. In May I wanted to watch Eurovision with him and he got all into it. We didnt get to watch the finale together but we talked about it when he got home. We were watching each others childhood movies, he bought a Wii and a bunch of old GameCube games that were $60 dollars each so we could play together. We had just gone grocery shopping with a list and talked about how it was so much smarter. We had plans for future dinners and our 3 year anniversary was coming up on June 6th. We were decorating our bedroom as the last room in the apartment and had just bought some wall decor and new handles for drawers on furniture. He texted me he loved me and that he'd be home tomorrow with a cute little smiley face and was all excited to tell me about the festival. Things felt like they were evolving into something stronger and better. There were no signs, no fights, etc. He has always remarked on how special this relationship is, how different it is to him than previous ones, how thankful he was to me for "finding him" and how he's shared personal things to me he's never shared with anyone ever. It was and is a very special, very insanely compatible relationship on all fronts and accounts. He's always been afraid of losing me and we'd talked about long term commitment although shyly.
He's struggling with a binge disorder and his weight/body image and dreading the Summer. He had just recently started up smoking but not fully yet. He took a supposedly small dose of mushrooms at a festival the night before but seemed fine and came back and said it was "beautiful." A friend did tell him he "embodied the darkness" though which he didn't love. He's turning 30 this month and was worried about our age (I'm 23) and having a bit of a midlife crisis as it were with more self image issues. He's been diagnosed Bipolar 2, medicated and in therapy the whole time I've known him (4 years, dating officially for 3) and a year or two before then. He's on a low dose of both Wellbutrin and Lamictal and while he's a bit forgetful he's not opposed to taking them. He's not Borderline diagnosed but has been told he has traits.
I read Loving Someone With Bipolar and the anger, irritability and fatalistic, doom and gloom thoughts are very much him and I've read so many peoples posts on here. So many people saying how their partners brought up "compatibility" suddenly. I don't want to kid myself and blame this breakup on his illness but it just doesnt add up. No one I've spoken to has understood and I've walked people thru word for word text messages and beat by beat breakdowns of the events of these past months. It's now June 10th and he hasn't tried coming back yet and so I feel a bit like I'm being an idiot but I don't know. He had an on and off again relationship with his ex though and they didnt share at all what we share so it just doesnt make sense or seem fair.
I know I've posted a lot here, I'm so sorry. Anything anyone has would be so helpful. I cannot come to grips with the fact I'm living at home right now especially given my house situation is really fucked right now which makes this even more confusing for him to do. I don't want to be delusional but it's not adding up at all.

2023.06.10 05:28 Spiritual_Nebula303 Trying to move to a different city
So, I've lived in Texas all my life and I'm currently in college. I wanted to move for college in the first place but I ended up staying home just because it was easier. But, I feel like moving somewhere else would just be so much better for me and my mental health and I think there'd be more opportunities for things like education and careers. I don't plan to move for a while since I still have 3 years of college left (I'm 19) and I don't plan on transferring (plans might change but idk). I have a list of places I might go and it includes:
- LA
- San Fransisco
- Chicago
- D.C
- Seattle
- Boston
- New York City (?)
I don't really have any climate/weather preferences so my questions are mostly about public transportation (I can't drive for shit) which neighborhoods are cheapest or which neighborhoods I should look into (I also don't have noise preference or anything like that, the price is really the only thing that matters to me) and just what the city is like in general. Things like nightlife, places to visit, the overall atmosphere. I've lived in a kind of small city (not dallas, houstin, or austin) so I'm just not used to "big city life" but I'd rather live somewhere walkable and with good public transportation and I really want to get away from the city I live in now. Also, I just don't like Texas in general.
If there's any advice I can get for moving to a bigger city, looking for apartments, moving with a dog (I have a very small morkie, I don't feel safe leaving him with my family so I want to take him with me if possible), or visiting before I move, that'd be super helpful!
Alsoo I chose the cities based on their walkability and their public transportation. Ik only certain places in LA are walkable and the public transportation isn't the best but I just put them in a list 1-7 to list them, LA isn't my first choice at all it'll be the first one I take off the list tbh. But, the biggest factors for me are whether I can walk places and how well I can get around on public transportation bc I legit can't drive :( Also, it's an unfinished list these aren't the only places I'm considering and I'm rly not even considering NYC anymore. It's rly there as an idea of what I'm looking for when it comes to walkability and public transportation.

2023.06.10 04:06 Unusual_Albatross_38 Landlord signed our lease, told us a week layer he can't honor it bc he signed the unit to another person 2 months earlier
Nyc. May 30th, all parties signed the lease, we paid first month/security deposit/brokers fee. The lease says effective June 1st, though we agreed on a June 15th move-in date. June 7th landlord calls us and says he can't honor the lease because he agreed to lease to the city. Said he signed us bc he thought the city agreement would not go through because he failed inspection. He says he just received word he passed a new inspection done May 30th (the day our lease was signed).
Our move in date was June 15th. He called us a week before move-in. The lease also says it is effective June 1st, not 15th.
We asked for proof that he had a binding agreement with the city. He sent us the inspection forms carried out in April 18th and two more in late May. We asked for documents that prove a binding agreement, and we pointed out inspection forms are not that. He sent us a lease signed to a person from April 5th. Why sign our lease in May if he he signed a lease in April??
Additionally, he offered us the unit across the hall at the same price. It is a smaller unit. The one we signed is 800 square feet. The one he is offering is 500 square feet. When we pointed this out, he said the price would be the same because the kitchen and bathroom are recently renovated.
Not sure if this counts as an illegal lockout case bc we never had possession of the unit (had not yet moved in). Not sure if the other lease dates are forged, but if accurate there is nothing we can do, no? I assumed you could not sign the lease with the city until after inspection.
Not sure what our options are.
Tldr: signed lease with landlord, paid all fees. He told he had signed the unit 2 months before and can't honor our lease. Trying to offer us smaller unit for same price.
Edit: There is a section on the lease that reads: "Failure to give possession: landlord shall not be held liable for failure to give tenants possession of the apartment on the beginning date of the term. Rent shall be payable as of the beginning of the term unless the landlord is unable to give possession. Rent shall then be payable as of the date possession is available. Landlord must give possession within a reasonable time. If not, tenants may cancel and obtain a refund of money deposited."

2023.06.10 03:47 Cyclopticcolleague Can someone explain what type of maintenance is being done on this nyc high rise apartment building?
| I can see some type of maintenance happening on this building (the Breevort East on east 9th) with many cables (or ropes) being strung diagonally from the roof. I can’t come up with an explanation of what’s happening. If it is some type of structural engineering with adjusting the pitch of building, that’s pretty wild. submitted by Cyclopticcolleague to StructuralEngineering [link] [comments] |
2023.06.10 02:46 Logical_Education_80 How Do I(27F) Stop My Boyfriend(26M) From Wanting To Break Up?
Hey guys, throwaway account b/c I don't want this linked to my main one. Let me give you some background information.
So I(27F) have been in a relationship with my boyfriend(26M) for five years. I'll call him Alex. Alex and I met in college and hit it off right away. We became close friends super quickly, and I will admit I was attracted to him from the start and fell in love with him pretty fast. I was completely smitten by the end of our first year, although we didn't get together until our last year (Alex is really smart and skipped a grade in high school).
While we were in college, I noticed that while Alex had a lot of hookups with both genders, he never got into any actual relationships. This struck me as odd because he's pretty good-looking and has a lovable goofball charm about him. When I asked him about this, he explained that he was in love with someone from his hometown and it wouldn't be fair to whoever he dated when he was planning on eventually asking them out. When I asked him why he hadn't asked them out before he left for college, he told me something crazy.
Apparently the guy he's in love with, I'll call him Eric, is eight years older than him! Alex has been in love with him since he first met Eric when he was sixteen. Apparently Eric's little sister was in Alex's grade at school, and Eric moved across the country from NYC without a second thought to take care of her when their parents died. Alex has been head over heels ever since.
I told him this sounded really skeevy and kind of like grooming, and Alex insisted that Eric wasn't like that. He said that Eric had never been interested in him like that, that Eric had never treated him or any of his sister's friends inappropriately in any way. Alex said he was aware that Eric was not the kind of guy who was interested in kids at all, and that was why Alex was waiting to ask him out. Alex had this whole plan to wait until he was at least twenty-six to ask Eric out, since that was the age at which our brains become fully matured, although he thought it would probably be smart to wait an extra two years and ask him out at twenty-eight, just to be sure. Until then, he said he was happy just being around him as his sister's friend.
I'll admit that I knew all this before I asked Alex out, and that he was initially reluctant to enter into a relationship with me. He reiterated to me that he was in love with Eric, and that it wouldn't be fair to me. At the time I told him that if he was determined to eventually be with Eric, the man would most likely be more receptive if Alex had experience with serious relationships, as it would put them on more even footing than just him being twenty-eight. I also told him that I completely understood his feelings for Eric, and would be more than happy to step aside when the time came. Eventually, Alex agreed to date me and we've been together ever since. I was lying, though. I figured that once we'd spent enough time together in a relationship, Alex would get over his little crush on Eric and fall in love with me. I mean, who waits over a decade just on the off chance someone might eventually like you back?!?!
The last five years have been great. Alex is a wonderful boyfriend, always endlessly thoughtful and supportive. I've met all of his people from his hometown, including his dad who raised him alone and the infamous Eric. I'll admit, I can see why Alex had a crush on him. Eric is really good-looking, as well as being from a rich family and having a job as an architect. He's also really sweet, hosts big get-togethers at his house and cooks for everyone. He was completely welcoming of me when Alex introduced me, and I noticed that Alex had been right, and he didn't treat him any differently than anyone else there. When I mentioned that I was a librarian, he gave me a tour of his home library and showed me his workroom where he does bookbindings and restorations for fun! Altogether, I concluded that he really was a great guy who didn't have any machinations on my boyfriend, and I relaxed.
I may have relaxed too soon, though, because Alex's twenty-sixth birthday was a month ago and he has started making noises about wanting to break up.
I have never been more hurt. While over the past five years Alex did occasionally remind me that he was still planning on ending up with Eric and checked in with me about whether or not I was still OK with that, I never took him too seriously. I figured he would eventually see the light and stop all this silly nonsense about Eric and marry me. But apparently not!
When I asked him how he could do this to me, he told me that he had given me multiple outs over the years and I had told him each time that I was fine with this. When I tried telling him he wasn't twenty-eight yet, so we still had time, he told me he wanted to be single for a while so Eric wouldn't think he was a rebound. I told him I loved him, and he looked very sad and said he wished I had told him sooner so that he could have broken it off then and saved me some pain.
I'll admit I lost it at this. I yelled at him, and told him that it was time he gave up his stupid ideas about Eric and see that I was right here. I told him that I would never consent to a breakup. When he tried to tell me that it wasn't solely up to me, and that he would give me some time to cool down, I stormed out and went to my sister's house. That was three days ago. Alex has been trying to contact me, offering to let me keep our apartment and anything I want in it, but each time I've told him we're not breaking up and that he's not allowed to leave me.
My sister has been sympathetic, but my two nieces have told me multiple times that I'm "unhinged" and that I should have seen this coming. While I'm still not ok with breaking up, I'm beginning to think that I may have gone overboard when I yelled at Alex. I really do love him, and I don't want this to be the end. How do I get him to stay with me?
TLDR; my boyfriend's been in love with someone since before he met me and now he wants to leave me so he can ask them out. How do I stop it?

2023.06.10 02:14 Aromatic-District-42 I think it ran its course
The past couple of months I felt more distant with my 2 friends who we considered ourselves to be a trio especially 2020-now because we all ended up going to the same uni and knew each other as teens.
I then met a group at uni with friends who had the same cultural and religious background as me (which I had longed for since I was a kid living in a predominantly white area) and found myself in balance between two groups, or so I thought.
I felt more fulfilled when spending time with my newer group and the discussions and time we spent I felt it was matching with what I wanted maturity wise in a friendship. That’s not to say I ignored my other group, it’s just I don’t drink or go to nightclubs, random hookups etc like they do and that’s what they mostly talked about or planned on weekends so it was getting harder to want to clear my schedule because even if I would go to a chill dinner- it would be rushed because they were going to a club or something (which they planned unbeknownst to me- I only knew because of shared locations since we were 16 and now it’s too awkward to shut it off because it’s sends a notification).
I guess the cherry on top was a couple of weeks ago when the two of them went to NYC for a week and didn’t even tell me. I just felt like shit. I don’t care if you plan a trip without me- I understand because of my preferences it doesn’t make sense to take a long a person who doesn’t drink or like going out. But, you couldn’t even say a word in the groupchat we are apart of? The groupchat you both didn’t use for the whole time you were away and the second back home it was business as usual. Luckily for me I have been preoccupied with my own summer plans (work, family visiting, other social commitments) so I’ve been on my phone less to begin with.
I haven’t properly talked to them in over a week and both reached out yesterday and today to ask if “somethings going on” and that they’re looking out for me. I don’t even want to respond because my genuine feeling is this friendship worked when we were teens but as young adults it’s time has reached. I had good times and they were there for me- but now it’s just a thorn in my side.

2023.06.10 01:36 StillaCentristin2021 Meghan McCain Sounds Alarm Over ‘Terrifying’ Trump Indictment: ‘This Will Tear Us Apart’
Meghan McCain, former co-host of
The View and current
Daily Mail columnist, wrote that she can feel the turmoil over
Donald Trump‘s “terrifying”
criminal indictment “in the pit of my stomach.”
McCain’s Friday column came under the heading, “The federal indictment of a president is a shattering and seismic moment – but unlike grave crises that brought us together, this will rip us apart. And it’s terrifying.”
McCain gave examples of momentous historical events that caused Americans to band together.
“
Richard Nixon‘s resignation showed the country that their president was, in fact, a crook. The September 11th attacks revealed our powerful nation to be incredibly vulnerable. The January 6th riots exposed the gaping rifts that had torn open between us all.
“But in these instances, a great majority of Americans rallied together and recognized common cause.” McCain insinuated that there is no common cause in Trump’s case.
More at the link at the top of this post... Ms. McCain and other Republicans should have been honest and honorable and encouraged tRump to return the documents the National Archives have been requesting for two years now....would have saved the country much cost and angst! submitted by

2023.06.10 01:06 thriftgirl82 Hi friends, and Happy Weekend! Many apologies if this has been asked+answered/discussed before, but: does anyone know when Jessica’s Cabot Cove house started to have a smaller role in the series?
As someone who primarily binges on Seasons 1-5, I’ve recently started watching the later seasons (though admittedly, I’ve been viewing them sporadically and out of order), and I’m wondering when/if Jessica stopped living at the house in CC?
I know she bought a NYC apartment and that many later episodes were shot there and abroad, but having seen several later episodes now, I’ve really been feeling the absence of the CC house, haha. I love the sophistication of the apartment, but gosh, the CC house has so much character! 😍🏠
Anyway, thanks so much in advance for your responses - love this sub! 🫶

2023.06.10 01:06 browncrackers How is street parking in Forest Hills?
Hello all. I am moving to nyc next month for work and am currently apartment hunting, and all I have to say about that is.. Holy fuckin shit, it's crazy. Anyway, my question is regarding street parking. I'm looking in the Forest Hills area. I have asked the brokers/agents how far away from where they live do they typically park, and they say within a block or two. I've done a lot of walking around the neighborhood in the afternoon/early evenings, and I feel like there are very few open spaces available.
Just curious what y'alls experience is with street parking in Queens is (particularly Forest Hills area). How long does it take to find a spot after work in the evenings? How far away do you typically park from where you live?
And yes, unfortunately I will need a car.

2023.06.10 01:00 Evan_Veet Playoff Stats Deep Dive: Pre-Masters Tokyo
With Master’s Tokyo on the way, I felt like it was the perfect time to revisit something I’ve been very interested in for a while now, and something that gets underrated by many fans in the Valorant community, playoff performance. Similar to how the NBA operates, Valorant has many stars that shine bright in regular season games, but struggle when it matters most (I’m looking at you Joel Embiid).
For this post, I’ve compiled data dating back to Stage 2 Reykjavik in 2021 and took the stats from playoffs of every LAN since then. I defined playoffs as past group stage for every LAN but Lock In and Reykjavik, where I choose to use the games from the last 8 remaining teams. This is why you won’t see stats for players from EDG or Furia, as they have made LANs but never advanced to playoffs.
Methodology: As previously stated I was only looking at playoff stats, how players play against the top 8 teams in the world at the time. Now I am a man with a job and other social responsibilities, so the statistics are not in-depth, and that’s why I will make a disclaimer right here. This is not a perfect representation of player skill and I am not claiming that my results are gospel, I’m simply having fun and compiling data about my favorite game. Now for how I collected it…
I took the rating from every game of every player of every match played in playoffs. 44190 rounds over 77 games played over 7 LANs. The metric I used was VLR rating, as that is the most accessible site to navigate and the most general stat you can find to correlate player skill. As I said in my disclaimer, this is not a perfect rating, if I was doing something like baseball it would be very easy with something like Wins Above Replacement(WAR), but Valorant doesn’t have that. For now, this will have to do. From there, I took every game that a player played and averaged it out. For players like the old Guild roster(excluding Leo because of his FNC run) it was as simple as averaging two different games and coming up with a number. For a team like the Optic core, however, it was a 17-game average. In general, using map vs overall game averages had little effect apart from maybe a .01-03 rating difference, and I for sure do not have enough time to go through literally every map. I will also be using 200 rounds as the cutoff point for all of my data, as that includes the G2 core of Avova Nukkye and Mixwell who have been to two playoffs and cuts off Kryptix and V1 who only played once over 2 years ago. Thus…. Onto the data.
The Data: TL:DR Links
This spreadsheet can summarize all that I am saying. It has data of every player ever and sorts out different categories I will talk about.
First things first: The best of the best
Of all players with 200 or more rounds played, the best-rated playoff player is….
TENZ With a 1.27 rating over 249 rounds, the Sentinels star duelist is the best performer by .2 points and it’s not too much of a surprise. Tenz has played in 2 playoffs, Stage 2 and 3 of 2021, and amassed 244 kills in 249 rounds over that span. Obviously, his Stage 3 was much worse than his Stage 2, but with the best performance ever at a LAN, it makes sense that he’s at number one.
As for players with over 400 rounds, and who I would truly crown the king of playoff games it's…
CHRONICLE With an insane 1.25 rating and 620 rounds played, Chronicle is by far the most consistently good player when it matters most. He’s my personal pick for GOAT of the game, and it makes sense why. The only player with 2 championships and one of only 4 to go to three grand finals. Chronicle has done it playing nine different agents across every role, most notably with his Sova, Brim, and Viper. The best flex in the world will be playing in Tokyo with a chance to bolster his crazy numbers even more.
The next two players are probably no surprise, as
NATS and
YAY round out the top 4. Both considered to be the two best players during their year of terror, Nats boasts a 1.21 rating with Yay at a 1.18. Yay also is tied with Marved for 4th most rounds of all time, only behind the Optic trio that stayed with NRG and played in Lock In “playoffs”. Both are in contention for the highest individual peaks of all time alongside the two ahead of him.
Rounding out the top 10 is:
Scream (1.18)
Leo (1.17)
Sacy (1.15)
Shahzam (1.15)
Cryo (1.14)
Shao, Cned, and Sick tied at (1.12)
Shaz is the only IGL on this list, and surprisingly not a single smokes player is in the top 10, with Mako being the closest at 15th. Duelist and Sova players by far reign supreme, as they account for 10/12 players I listed.
Now for the not so good, the worst performers in the playoffs. With over 200+ rounds the worst performer was…
DELZ1K The former KRU controller has an abysmal .79 rating over 222 rounds. The sample size is small with only one large showing in a tournament at Champions 2021, but the now free agent was the only player with an under .8 rating. For context, that is nearly the same rating as dephh in 2023.
Of players with over 400 rounds, #1 is
ANGE1, but it is kind of unfair since he is an IGL, so of non-IGLs the worst is…
RB Maybe a surprise to many, but the Korean flex has been awful when it matters most. Boasting 895 rounds played, tied for 9th most, he has a .85 rating, by far the lowest with Jamppi at .93 being the closest non-igl with >400 rounds. He’s someone that’s consistently in the conversation for top 3 flex player, but I’m not sure that’s merited when he’s .12 rating points lower than his closest teammate and IGL.
Some other notable names include:
Ange1 (.8)
FNS (.83)
Shyy (.86)
BcJ and Zekken (.93)
Masters Tokyo The top 10 players going into Masters Tokyo are
- FNC Chronicle 1.25
- TL Nats 1.21
- FNC Leo 1.17
- FNC Derke 1.12
- NAVI Shao 1.12
- NAVI Cned 1.12
- LOUD Aspas 1.11
- DRX Mako 1.1
- PRX F0rsaken 1.09
- LOUD Less/NAVI Suygestu 1.08
TL Sayf additionally has a 1.3 rating from his time with Guild but with just 100 rounds he doesn’t meet the criteria
The bottom 10 players are
- NAVI Ange1 .8
- NRG FNS .83
- DRX Rb .85
- TL Jamppi .93
- LOUD Saadhak .94
- TL Soulcas .96
- DRX Stax .97
- NRG Victor .97
- DRX Buzz .98
- NRG Crashies .99
Some surprising names on this list but only 31/60 players have over 200 rounds that are going to Masters Tokyo, so this list features many familiar faces, most surprisingly the NRG duo as well as Buzz.
Ethan at .9 with 108 rounds and s0m at .97 with 78 rounds would also be here.
Teams at Tokyo On average, the highest-rated team at Tokyo is unsurprisingly Fnatic with a crazy 1.13 avg playoff rating. Liquid comes in at second with a 1.09, likely boosted by prime Nats and Sayf’s low rounds. FUT, EG, EDG, and ASE don’t have enough players to rate, so NRG is the lowest-rated team with an average rating of .97. DRX comes in at second with .98
The most experienced team is NRG with 4175 rounds combined, with DRX and FNC both barely eclipsing 3500 in 2nd and 3rd place. FUT, EDG, and ASE have 0 combined, and EG and T1 both have under 200. By far the most inexperienced 5 teams at the event, with PRX coming in 6th with 1812 rounds.
The best playoff performers not at Tokyo are:
- Tenz
- Yay
- Scream
- Sacy
- Shahzam
Sacy, Scream and Tenz could all technically make Champions with upset LCQ runs.
Overall Takeaways: Rb is one of the worst playoff performers and is an anomaly among players that have as much play time as him.
TL, FNC, and NAVI have three of the most talented rosters of all time on paper, all in the same region.
Peak SEN was extremely talented, as was GMB, but only playing 2 LAN playoffs as teams means it’s impossible to truly know how good they could’ve been.
Optic core is definitely hurt by the sheer rounds they’ve played. Marved, Crashies, and Victor all have surprisingly low numbers, but it’s likely because they play so much more than anyone else that their stats regress to a more general mean.
Scream is probably one of the more underrated individuals, and it's a shame this is where his career has gone. Consistently amazing at LAN but has never really had the collection of 5 or an IGL to work with him.
Though not mentioned in this post, D3ffo’s 1.11 ACS in playoffs is crazy, especially considering he was putting up <1 rating during EMEA league play
Conclusion: So WTF was the point of all of this work?
Well… I don’t really know. It’s not perfect data, but it does give a general idea of some key things to look out for in Tokyo. I think some players are personally very overrated, and some don’t get the respect they deserve when it comes to LAN performances, and this practice did give me some clarity on certain individuals.
Either way, it was a fun exercise and hopefully you’ve at least skimmed through a lot of this. I truly suggest you at least check out
this spreadsheet because it shows literally 139 players' worth of data, so your favorite player is likely on this. It also shows some things I didn’t bring up because this is already an essay, like each role at Tokyo and player comparisons. In general, I really like posts like these and hope to see more of them as Tokyo is happening as statistical analysis in Valorant is still very minimal, and this really basic post hopefully makes some people interested.
If you have any questions about literally anything on this post, from a singular player u want to know about to my methodology I’ll try to respond to comments.

Lore: In the late 19th century, during the unsettling era of the Industrial Revolution, a small farming community nestled deep within the heartland of a forgotten country thrived under the care of a diligent and compassionate farmer named Jonathan Blackwood. As the crops flourished, so did the hopes and dreams of the townsfolk who relied on the bountiful harvest to sustain their humble lives.
Jonathan possessed an uncanny talent for tending to the land, seemingly blessed by nature itself. With his expertise, the fields yielded more than ever before, and the villagers marveled at the abundance of food that spilled forth from the earth. The sight of the flourishing crops enchanted the townsfolk, and their admiration for Jonathan soon transformed into something akin to worship.
However, as the seasons passed, the prosperity that once enveloped the farming community began to wane. The crops withered, livestock perished, and a sense of despair hung heavily in the air. Blighted by a mysterious blight that defied explanation, the town faced an imminent threat of famine.
Desperate to save his beloved community, Jonathan turned to the forbidden arts of the occult. Rumors whispered of his nocturnal excursions to ancient burial grounds, where he sought guidance from the spirits of the departed. Driven by his love for the people who depended on him, Jonathan was willing to do whatever it took to restore the land's fertility and safeguard their futures.
It was during one fateful moonlit night that Jonathan stumbled upon a hidden chamber within an ancient burial mound. Within its depths lay an ornate lantern, its ethereal glow pulsating with a sinister energy. Overwhelmed by a mixture of awe and trepidation, Jonathan cautiously reached out and touched the lantern, and as his fingers brushed against its surface, an unholy pact was forged.
The spirit that inhabited the lantern, a malevolent entity known as Mirage, sought vengeance for its own tragic demise centuries earlier. Empowered by the farmer's desperation, it offered Jonathan a twisted bargain. In exchange for the spirit's guidance and the restoration of the land, Jonathan would become the vessel through which the spirit would unleash its wrath upon the world.
Blinded by his desire to save his community, Jonathan accepted the wicked pact. In that moment, Mirage's essence seeped into his very being, transforming him into a grotesque amalgamation of man and spirit. The once kind-hearted farmer was reborn as The Scarecrow, a twisted figure shrouded in tattered garments and adorned with straw-stuffed limbs, his hollow eyes burning with otherworldly fury.
With the newfound powers granted by Mirage, The Scarecrow returned to his dying community. As he roamed the moonlit fields, the eerie glow of the lantern he now wielded cast long, haunting shadows across the barren landscape. The presence of The Scarecrow alone brought terror to the hearts of the townsfolk, as they realized that their beloved farmer had been irrevocably changed by dark forces.
No longer bound by the limitations of mortal flesh, The Scarecrow's malevolence manifested through the powers of the lantern. As he stalked his prey, the lantern's glow intensified, and an oppressive mist engulfed the surroundings. Within this ethereal fog, the Hunted found their senses dulled, their movements slowed, and their chances of survival diminished.
The Scarecrow reveled in the torment of his victims, deriving sadistic pleasure from their despair. The once benevolent farmer had become an embodiment of fear, a being who lurked within the mist, harvesting the souls of those unfortunate enough to cross his path. The townsfolk's worship had been replaced by fear.

Lore: In the shadows of the 1970s, when crime and corruption permeated the streets, John Carlson emerged as a seasoned detective with a reputation for his tenacity and resourcefulness. Born and raised in a city plagued by lawlessness, John had a front-row seat to the injustices that unfolded daily. Determined to restore order and bring criminals to justice, he dedicated himself to his work, earning the respect of both his colleagues and the community he served.
John possessed an uncanny ability to uncover the truth, seeing beyond the façade and deciphering the intricate web of lies spun by criminals. His sharp mind and keen instincts made him a formidable adversary to those who sought to evade justice. However, as John delved deeper into the dark underbelly of the city, he unwittingly stumbled upon a secret society that thrived in the shadows—a clandestine organization known as Fog Whisperers.
Fueled by greed and power, Fog Whisperers operated with impunity, pulling the strings behind the scenes, orchestrating crime waves and manipulating key figures within the city. They saw John as a threat, a disruptor who posed a risk to their carefully constructed empire. In a calculated move to eliminate him, they devised a sinister plan.
One fateful night, as John tirelessly pursued a high-profile case, he received an anonymous tip leading him to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. Unbeknownst to him, the tip was a carefully orchestrated trap. As he ventured deeper into the derelict building, he found himself ambushed by a group of masked assailants, agents of the Fog.
A vicious struggle ensued, but John was outnumbered and overwhelmed. Despite his valiant efforts, he was overpowered, beaten within an inch of his life. The assailants, believing they had dealt the detective a fatal blow, left him for dead, disappearing into the night.
However, fate had other plans for John. As his lifeblood seeped from his battered body, he was enveloped by an otherworldly mist, a manifestation of the very darkness he had fought against. In his darkest hour, the fog claimed him, granting him an unexpected second chance at life—but forever tethered to the fog and its twisted realm.
Now one with the fog, John emerged as a hunted survivor, trapped within the nightmarish trials orchestrated by the Fog. His skills as a detective proved invaluable in his quest for survival, enabling him to outsmart and evade the relentless hunters that pursued him. Yet, the line between self-preservation and selflessness became blurred for John. His desire to survive often clashed with his moral compass, as he would not hesitate to use his companions as distractions, ensuring his own escape.
While seen by some as a helpful survivor, John's reputation was marred by his self-serving tendencies. With every trial, he walked a precarious tightrope, balancing survival and the instinct to alert the hunter for his own benefit. His conflicted nature, a blend of resourcefulness and self-interest, painted him as a complex figure among the survivors, one whose actions could be both admired and criticized.
As John ventured deeper into the trials, he was haunted by the shadows of his past, the echoes of the crime-ridden city he had once fought to protect. In the fog's merciless embrace, he sought redemption, an opportunity to atone for the compromises he had made. Lore: Kris Hackley had always been the embodiment of determination and leadership. As the captain of her local hockey team, she commanded respect and pushed her teammates to their limits. Yet, beneath her strong exterior, Kris harbored a simmering discontent towards those she perceived as unworthy or unfamiliar. It was this disdain that brought her to the fateful trip to the mountain, seeking an escape from the confines of her team and the pressure of her responsibilities. The day started with a hockey game, where Kris once again led her team to victory. But instead of relishing in the triumph, she found herself growing increasingly irritated with her teammates' shortcomings and mistakes. Seeking solace from the persistent frustration, Kris agreed to join her friends—Emma, Ethan, Anthony, Kyler, Kara, and her siblings Jamison and Kayley—for a weekend getaway in the serene mountain retreat. However, tensions began to rise as Anthony introduced a newcomer to the group—Olivia. Kris immediately resented the intrusion, perceiving Olivia as an unwelcome disruption to their tightly-knit circle. Her feelings of superiority and territoriality cast a shadow over the trip, as Kris became increasingly distant and hostile towards Olivia. As the group ventured further into the secluded mountain, their bonds began to strain under the weight of Kris's disdain. Unbeknownst to them, the dark presence of the fog had already begun to weave its way into their lives. It sensed Kris's isolation and resentment, drawing her closer to its clutches. Tragedy struck when Kris, consumed by her own emotions, failed to extend a helping hand to those in need. As they engaged in risky activities, disaster struck one by one. Kris watched in horror as Emma, Ethan, and Anthony succumbed to their fates—severing the already fragile bonds of friendship. Jamison and Kayley, her own siblings, suffered the consequences of her indifference. Overwhelmed with guilt and remorse, Kris found herself separated from the remaining survivors—Olivia and Kyler. Alone in the unforgiving mountain terrain, the fog began to envelop her, offering a haunting embrace that echoed her internal turmoil. In that moment, Kris's fate intertwined with the fog, becoming one with its ethereal realm. Now, as a Hunted survivor, Kris roams the trials, forever trapped within the fog's grasp. Her once fierce determination transformed into a relentless struggle for survival, and her perceived superiority challenged by the enigmatic horrors that lurk in the shadows. The lessons learned from her past failures now guide her, as she navigates the trials with a newfound sense of humility and empathy. Though the memory of her selfishness lingers, Kris's journey through the fog offers her a chance at redemption. She seeks to overcome her former limitations and forge new bonds, recognizing that unity and selflessness are the keys to survival in this twisted fog.

Among them were the determined Kris, the gentle Kayley, the steadfast Kyler, the empathetic Anthony, and the spirited duo of Ethan and Emma. The weight of unrequited affection burdened her heart, and only Anthony, her confidant, shared her pain and understood her longing. 2023.06.09 23:40 kniccknakk Sublease situation/Potential Tresspassing
The background details:
- I am subleasing in NYC from a woman and have a very bare-bones sublease agreement that only contains payment information agreement and the dates of the sublease. (this means that she is still on the orignal lease)
- I will be taking over the lease from her in July.
- To my knowledge, the landlord doesn't know about the sublease agreement.
This is the situation:
She keeps randomly coming under the premise of collecting mail (which I guess is understandable), but she also is leaving with things that do not belong to her. She still has keys to the apartment and claims she will return the keys in a month when her lease "officially" ends. I texted her that I was not comfortable with her coming to the apartment unsupervised, and that unless she has made arrangements with me or one of the other roomates to collect mail, she is not permitted to enter the apartment. But she has disregarded this information.
To her, it seems that she has a right to the apartment for the rest of the month, because technically she is still on the lease. To me, I feel that she is no longer allowed in the apartment to collect things, because she has moved out, and is subleasing to me.
I don't know what to do because she is taking random household items that do not belong to her. (I do not really care about her coming to retrieve her mail, but to me, it is not okay that she is coming without explicit permission and also taking random things that do not belong to her).
What do you think/what can be done?

2023.06.09 23:24 Bindibabyy00 Need advice on getting out of a bad relationship
Hey all!!
I’m planning on leaving my boyfriend of 2 years. I’ve always been independent as a single mother of 2 kids. We’ve never lived with a man before and I’ve always just managed to keep us afloat on my own.
About 6 months ago everything seemed to fall apart in my life. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He was told that high dose chemo would prolong his life for a bit, but ultimately he didn’t have much time. Within weeks of this news, I lost my job and got an eviction notice. I felt really helpless and had no where to turn. I had a boyfriend (dating one year at the time) who I was also trying to leave because I found out he had been cheating on my the whole time.
My boyfriend saw his opportunity to “save me” during this really hard time of my life. He opened his home to me and my kids. He also allowed my dad to stay for weeks while he was getting treatment. He seemed to be everything I had been asking for in the beginning.
Unfortunately, things have just gotten back to the same place. Except I’ve sold all of my furniture, live in his home and haven’t been able to find a job to support myself on mine own.
My boyfriend knows I’m unhappy. He is very controlling. He hardly lets me drive myself to work or run errands without him chauffeuring me around. My phone is on his plan and he is always monitoring my every move. I’m financially trapped. Also emotionally drained. I’ve tried to leave him several times but he gaslights me and won’t let me go without begging and fighting.
I’ve booked myself a 10 day trip from June 15th-25th. I’ll be with 2 of my closest girlfriends. We will go to Vegas, LA and end in NYC.
My girls aren’t sex workers - but they know how badly I need this trip. Mostly I’ve been in a prison in my own home so to just have freedom will feel so amazing. My goal on this trip though, is to meet some amazing SD’s who can put that spark back in my life as I can do for them. I also have to make this trip financially beneficial so that once I return I can get my family and I into our own space.
Any tips on setting up some dates pre trip, different cities? All advice appreciated ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Recommended Controller PvP Perks: - Sights: Arrowhead Brake, Smallbore - Magazine: Accurized Rounds, Steady Rounds, Flared Magwell - Perk 1: Rangefinder, Rapid Hit, Kill Clip - Perk 2: Headseeker, Elemental Capacitor, High-Impact Reserves - Masterwork: Stability - Origin Traits: Explosive Pact
Recommended MnK PvP Perks: - Sights: Arrowhead Brake, Smallbore - Magazine: Accurized Rounds, Flared Magwell, Light Mag - Perk 1: Rangefinder, Rapid Hit, Kill Clip - Perk 2: Headseeker, High-Impact Reserves, Elemental Capacitor - Masterwork: Range - Origin Traits: Explosive Pact
Chattering Bone is showing its best footing yet. From a niche but underwhelming raid weapon to arguably the best in its archetype. Arrowhead Brake will bring up that low recoil direction, and Rapid Hit will bring up the low stability and reload speed. Kinetic Tremors is what brings up Chattering Bone’s utility. You could opt for sheer damage through Kill Clip and Focused Fury but I don’t know if the two of those perks would work together. It might be a case of the curated where you have damage that starts at the top half and once that goes away you have damage by the bottom half.
In PvP Rangefinder pushes this pulse out to compete with some of the higher damage archetypes with more base range. Headseeker gives you forgiveness with each burst. You could opt for some really juicy stats with Elemental Capacitor, I wouldn’t recommend Arc with the high base handling, but Void or Stasis could work really well.
The Supremacy - Kinetic Sniper Rifle
Source: Last Wish Raid
- Craftable: Yes
- Intrinsics: Rapid-Fire Frame
- Impact: 55
- Range: 32
- Stability: 38
- Handling: 68
- Reload Speed: 62

- Airborne Effectiveness: 2
- Rounds Per Minute: 140

Curated Roll: Polygonal Rifling / Armor-Piercing Rounds / Rapid Hit / Vorpal Weapon
Recommended PvE Perks: - Sights: Arrowhead Brake - Magazine: Appended Mag, Flared Magwell, Extended Mag - Perk 1: Rewind Rounds, Rapid Hit, Lead From Gold - Perk 2: Fourth Time's the Charm, Kinetic Tremors, Bait and Switch - Masterwork: Reload Speed - Origin Traits: Explosive Pact
Recommended Controller PvP Perks: - Sights: Fluted Barrel - Magazine: Ricochet Rounds - Perk 1: Snapshot Sights - Perk 2: Opening Shot, Elemental Capacitor - Masterwork: Handling - Origin Traits: Explosive Pact
Recommended MnK PvP Perks: - Sights: Fluted Barrel - Magazine: Ricochet Rounds - Perk 1: Snapshot Sights - Perk 2: Opening Shot, Elemental Capacitor - Masterwork: Handling - Origin Traits: Explosive Pact
The Supremacy is one of the most stacked snipers to reach our feeble hands. Fourth Time’s the Charm and Rewind Rounds coupled together gives you an unbelievable amount of ammo. Rapid Hit and Bait and Switch could be fun for maximum damage in a short period of time, and Kinetic Tremors with Lead from Gold could be a long distance add clear weapon.
In PvP The Supremacy could be the strongest 140 we currently have. You can achieve an incredibly high 92 handling with both Opening Shot and Snapshot Sights. Only Mercurial Overreach can get that high. You can also hit 100 with Elemental Capacitor, but you would have to switch out some other perks to invest into range.
Transfiguration - Kinetic Scout Rifle

Recommended MnK PvP Perks: - Sights: Arrowhead Brake, Smallbore - Magazine: Steady Rounds - Perk 1: Rapid Hit, Rampage - Perk 2: Explosive Payload, Kill Clip, Opening Shot - Masterwork: Handling - Origin Traits: Explosive Pact
Transfiguration is a really solid scout mixed in with other really good scouts. Unfortunately, other scouts with similar rolls are already in most players' hands so there’s less of a reason to grind for this. Rapid Hit and Kinetic Tremors already exists on Hung Jury and most players like the precision archetype better than the high-impact archetype. Explosive Payload is a tried and true perk combo that works here too. The enhanced versions of Rapid Hit and Explosive Payload don’t add a ton to the weapon.
In PvP there aren’t a ton of reasons to use a high-impact scout. Jade Rabbit and Polaris Lance were dominant but not as strong any more. The rise and fall of scouts are typically accompanied by a slower game, pulses and SMGs are dominant right now because you’re either playing passively or aggressively, there aren’t too many middle avenues. Scouts cater to the former but on a higher end. If you do want to try this scout out in PvP you will need more than just Explosive Payload and some prayers.

I am excited for this auto to pair with a void build using both Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds for a self buff and add clear. Golden Tricorn pairs well if you get Volatile from your subclass or just want a stronger weapon. Dragonfly in the third column will get beefed up with Golden Tricorn so I can see some utility outside of direct void explosions that could be usable all the way up to GM levels.
In PvP there are simply better options right now. Unlocking the patterns and getting them ready in the event of a buff would be wise, but quick killing weapons with good forgiveness coupled with Target Lock are the name of the game. Age-Old Bond kills quickly but does not have much in terms of forgiveness. Target Lock drops your 6 crit requirement down to 5 crit 1 body, not changing the time to kill, but making it ever so slightly more forgiving. With a bigger buff like Kill Clip you drop an entire shot needed to 4 crit 1 body. Not the most meta option.

Oh how things have changed. Nation of Beasts used to be the Fakebringer of Destiny 2 giving us Outlaw and Dragonfly all wrapped into one small curated package. Now that Fatebringer is truly in the game and other weapons have been granted Outlaw and Dragonfly (or even Firefly) what sets Nation of Beasts apart? Well, not a lot. It does have access to two very strong AoE perks in Voltshot and Dragonfly, and can increase its damage through Golden Tricorn. Discord pulls ammo from thin air and can help when in lower activities to bypass reloading.
There aren’t a lot of hand cannons that see top tier usage in PvP. Opening Shot, Keep Away, and Perpetual Motion in one column, and Explosive Payload and Kill Clip in the other make for a stacked package. Add in enhanced perks and you have a recipe for a super solid hand cannon. Eye of the Storm or Fragile Focus would round out the mix for best perks on a hand cannon, but overall it’s a solid choice. Hard to say if this is stronger than Palindrome and Exalted Truth, but it certainly holds its own. You’ll have to fight some of the weird gun model though.

Techeun Force is looking to be the best fusion rifle in the game. I don’t say that often but given all the goodies of double damage perks, craftability, and great stats you can really have it your way. Rewind Rounds coupled with Collective Action for subclass agnostic buffs, Controlled Burst for laying down enemies or Golden Tricorn when on Arc will feel incredibly strong. Reconstruction is a tried and true gem of a perk, only beaten by my obsession with Overflow. Kill Clip can stack with all of these creating over 100% damage increases with Kill Clip, Golden Tricorn 2x, 3 Surge Mods, and Major Spec. If you set things up right you can almost have a 150% damage increase. Simply put it is the best fusion in the game for damage and has greater utility beyond that.
In PvP you could also recommend Techeun Force as the best fusion in the game and I will. Arrowhead Brake with a CB mod brings the recoil to 100, so you can invest the rest of the fusion into range via Projection Fuse and Rangefinder. If you value kill chaining you could go for Reconstruction and Controlled Burst for never reloading and getting that 20% damage increase. Another niche use case would be Kill Clip and Kickstart for a nice 4 bolt kill, you’d have to be sprinting immediately after reloading but the enhanced version extending Kill Clip’s timer will help you out.

Tyranny of Heaven used to be the only solar bow in the game, and its sights are really odd. In its current version you can certainly get some good mileage out of the updated perks, only if you can agree with the wonky sights. Archer’s Tempo will get you the best reload / knock time, and Golden Tricorn is simply the best damage perk in the game. On solar that job gets even easier with the plethora of amazing abilities. Collective action will have slightly less uptime but could still be considered one of the better perks. Incandescent does give you some great AoE but I find that not bumping up the bow’s innate damage might feel a bit lackluster in higher end activities.
In PvP please just don’t use bows. The only way to one shot a guardian in PvP is by stacking 3 surge mods with Swashbuckler, or getting Golden Tricorn 2x going. While it is possible, and arguably sustainable within PvP it is incredibly niche. You can go a tried and true route with Snapshot Sights and any of the good third column perks but I would just use a precision frame instead.

Apex Predator is the best rocket launcher in the game. With enhanced Reconstruction you can almost always have a rocket ready to fire at any given time. With Explosive Light you get incredible amounts of damage and orbs are easy to make now. Bait and Switch is another great damage perk and does more damage, but I find Explosive Light easier to work with, especially with the new mod system revolving around orbs of power. Simple answer is, use Explosive Light if you’re lazy, if you’re trying to min-max use Bait and Switch.

2023.06.09 23:09 Defiant-You-9209 Question about bedbugs & suitcases, learning how to not stress and obsess :)
I had a past fear of bedbugs but now I’m working on not stressing over bed bugs while still being practical. I live in a tiny apartment in NYC, & I need a place to store my suitcase + my SO’s suitcase. I got a hard suitcase but they have a soft one. We know to check the bed & keep our luggage in the bathroom. What should we do when we get home? Where should we store the suitcases? Are there any products that kill bedbugs on suitcases? I’m just trying to find a good set of rules to stick with while also having fun traveling! Appreciate any advice!
