2023.05.31 05:51 BuyWonderful Geoff.
The sunshine shone brighter on the days when Geoff came to visit.
He came quite often, never bringing annoying those knick knacks that cluttered up her small room, he really just visited to keep her company.
She knew, that compared to some other residents, she was very lucky.
Some had no family at all, no one to visit. Their holidays were spent alone, nobody to call to wish well, no presents to unwrap.
She herself had been in the same predicident up until a few weeks ago.
But now she had Geoff. And that’s what mattered.
It irked her that she couldn’t quite remember exactly where Geoff fit into the family. Damn aging and no doubt a hint of dementia, she surely wasn’t getting any younger.
She tried to place him as a nephew or distant cousin, maybe even a married in son in law somewhere, but none seemed quite right. She would think to ask him about it, but whenever he came to visit, it completely slipped her mind.
It didn’t matter though, not at all. To have the company was lovely. She was frail and getting more sore as each day passed, but the visits and the hope of them, kept her spirit high, looking forward to another day.
When he visited during the night, she was more than m surprised. She had never known the nursing home to let visitors in after 7pm.
She smiled weakly as she shifted in her bed, the small movements causing immense pain. Geoff smiled back and he stood, and walked towards her. Usually he sat in the chair, keeping a comfortable distance, but tonight, he came up close. He leant right in, his nose close to the tip of hers, so close it was almost touching and she could smell him, a scent of smoke like burnt firewood, and some thing from her childhood, honey and lime perhaps, something she couldn’t place.
“I didn’t want to correct you earlier, but you certainly misheard,” without breaking eye contact, she could only watch on as the man gently took the pillow from behind her head, and placed it over her face.
She didn’t resist, not that she had the strength or energy to do so if she had wanted to. She was ready, she had been for a while.
“Sweetest Magnoline, my name is not Geoff. My name is Death. I’m here to take you home.”
It didn’t take long. He removed the pillow and looked at her. She seemed peaceful. More relaxed than he had seen since he first began to visit. He sighed heavily. A burden to bear, a burden to carry.
After a few moments had passed, a small voice spoke aloud. “Thank you.”
Death turned to see Magnoline, young again, eyes bright, smile vibrant.
“Ah my dear, no need to thank. It was simply your time.”
He placed his hand in hers, and together they walked on. Where the next destination was, well she wasn’t sure. But she knew Geoff would certainly keep her safe on her way there.

2023.05.31 05:14 ouyoo 26M Friendship, companionship?!
Hellooo :) hope you're having a nice day/night! I've been feeling a little extra lonely lately and while I can handle it well enough, it isn't exactly something I'm fond of so maybe you're in the same boat and don't wanna be quite so lonely too?
It'd be nice to have someone in my life to talk to throughout the day and share everything with, music, memes, every random stupid thought that might pop into our heads. I can be a shoulder to lay on too if need be. I tend to get along with just about anyone as long as you're not a complete asshole, although if you're a bubbly person you score bonus points with me :3
Lil bit about me, I turn 27 this summer, I live in Nevada, until recently I worked in advertising but I dropped that to go back to school full time. I have 3 super cute kitty cats I’d be more than happy to share picture of. I’m a huge homebody but I also love to spend time outdoors, I like things like museums, gardens, zoos and aquariums too. I’m open minded, nonjudgemental, and easy going
I like to play video games occasionally, I used to play more but it’s slowed down quite a bit. My go to right now is Siege but I'd be open to playing other games. I enjoy movies (in love with Studio Ghibli and anything horror! Fantasy stuff too) & shows, music, I’m into hockey, Golden Knights 🥳❤️. I have houseplants, I like true crime, anything spooky, Halloween, I love dinosaurs and sharks, and there's about a million other random things I'm interested in
Anyways, I don’t wanna drag things on so if you’re interested shoot me a chat telling me a little bit about you or something witty!

2023.05.31 03:23 Novel-Setting5517 “You have no enemies”
I really like the Vinland saga memes people post in spaces like this. They make me feel hopeful, just in general. I remember back when I was 16, 17, everything was negativity. Being online often meant going down a pipeline that landed you in a bad place as an awful person. I fell down that pipeline too, and I wasn’t able to see it until its consequences came. Then I was able to change and become the person I really wanted to be. Though I am full of shame and regret, I am happy with who I currently am.
I don’t know if the current trend in favor of positivity is really that widespread. I still see negative things all the time, people wrapped up in their hate for others, or who they think others are. No understanding. The separation of people from ideas that the internet has given us has allowed us to do the inverse, to assign people to ideas we hate, and hate them in turn. It’s cool to see people embracing kindness though.
Anyway, that’s not really what I want to talk about. I was just kinda typing there for a bit lol.
I’ve seen a lot of discussion on the topic of “having no enemies” here and idk, seeing as text posts are allowed here I wanted to just drop some ideas of mine. If you’re not really interested no worries, I know this is mostly a hopeful meme subreddit.
I don’t think that having no enemies means being passive the way that some people interpret it as. You might say that the exact definition of “having no enemies” would mean having no one opposed to you and your ideas, meaning that no one truly has no enemies, but I feel that you’re missing the true meaning of the statement when you say that, particularly its significance in Vinland saga itself.
I personally think that having no enemies in this context means not allowing hate to rule your thoughts and actions. You will always have people work against you, and you will probably hate them for it. I mean, it makes sense, and it’s natural. But is allowing such a powerful, ugly emotion into your life such a good idea? It’s not as if I’m an old man with decades of life experience to speak on, but I know what it looks like to be a person motivated by their hate for something or someone. It’s not pretty, and oftentimes they alienate themselves because of their emotions.
In short, to “have no enemies”, you don’t really need to not have enemies. Everyone has at least one or two, whether they be people, governments, or societal structures. Having no enemies means prioritizing your love for those around you and the things you love over your hate for those opposed to you. Having no enemies means letting go of your hatred, and freeing yourself from it as a result.
Now that I’ve said that I feel like I’m stating the obvious lol, sorry if that stuff is basic.
Anyways.
The other thing I wanted to talk about is the relationship between this concept and justice. I’ve seen it said that having no enemies is an obstruction of justice; that forgiving the awful people of the world is simply enabling them.
Firstly, forgiveness is a purely personal thing that oftentimes doesn’t have much to do with justice. If a murderer is caught, tried, and sentenced, whether you forgive them or not doesn’t have much to do with justice. At that point, they are a part of the legal system and WILL be punished by it. At that point, forgiveness is up to you to consider; it’s purely a personal thing. I can’t say anything about this hypothetical situation that I’ve created because I’ve not experienced it myself. I don’t know if I could forgive someone who murdered a loved one of mine, but I think that letting go and forgiveness are two different things. You can let go of your hatred without forgiving, or you can do both. I don’t know if I’d be able to do both, but in my head, I can see that accepting this pain and letting my hatred go is the only way to truly move on.
A situation in which the lines are blurry is one in which justice is not served. This happens often, and is quite frankly unfair. In a scenario like this, I can very much understand nursing your hate, and once again, if this were me, I might do so as well. I don’t believe that the current me would, but I can’t make any guarantees about this hypothetical. The only thing I can say is, once again, that a path to emotional healing and happiness is letting go of that hatred, especially if punishment is simply out of reach. It doesn’t have to be forgiveness. Those who are knowingly and unrepentantly doing evil deserve correction, but if it is not within your power to administer it, worrying on it will only serve to drag you down. I agree that it is troubling, and if you are in a situation like this I truly feel for you, and hope that your justice comes one day. But letting this hate define you will help no one, and will only be a victory for those that hurt you. As long as you hold onto that hate, they still have a hold on you. When you are able to move past it, you’ll also be moving past them.
Finally, I feel that this argument can, in some cases, take on a punitive stance rather than a rehabilitative one. My personal opinion is that most people are not inherently evil, but are capable of truly evil things. I believe that most people want to change and become better than they are. I think that to treat such people as your enemy is simply a tragedy for all involved. A repentant sinner will drown in their regret, guilt, and shame, while you will carry around this hatred for them that may come to be an emotional burden.
Ok I’m bout done. Sorry for that long thing lol.
One thing I want to reiterate is that the most important thing here is letting go of hatred, not necessarily forgiveness. Forgiveness in and of itself is an intensely emotional thing, that is also very private. I can’t speak on your forgiveness. But I do know that holding on to hatred will not help you.
Tl/dr: there is no tldr lmao this topic is very nuanced.
Once again sorry for typing so much out, just felt like sharing my thoughts. Maybe this’ll reach someone who needs it, who knows.
Have a good day!
Note: I’m not necessarily looking to debate this tbh, I just got off work and I’m really tired, plus I don’t know if my mind could be changed in an hour or two. But feel free to disagree if you feel you must!

2023.05.31 03:17 GoldenHeart411 S*xual Harassment bc of Pregnancy
I am currently recently postpartum, but during my pregnancy I had to report my boss for sexual harassment. I've been feeling extremely guilty about it and I wanted to share here the things that happened and see if others agree that I did the right thing.
When I arrived to work from a doctor’s appointment my boss said in a snappy, joking tone, “I shouldn’t say this, but…You better not be pregnant!” This was after a miscarriage (that he didn't know about) and while my husband and I were trying to conceive.
When I told my boss about my recent (successful) pregnancy, he looked straight at my stomach and said, “I thought so! I've knocked up enough girls I know the difference between a baby bump and someone getting fat! I've known ever since you wore that tight shirt on Halloween!" (It was a regular t-shirt as part of my costume but it was less baggy than the clothes I had been wearing and I was barely showing.) He then said "Let me guess, you are three months along?” I said no, 5 months and he said, “Wow you don't look that far along! That's a good problem to have!” He then asked if I was going to have a girl or boy and when I said girl he started complaining about how dramatic and difficult girls are and that he has “lots of daughters” so he knows. He also said that he would have kept having kids until he had a boy, even if it took 11 or 12 kids. That felt demeaning to women.
When I informed my boss of my pregnancy I asked him to keep the information in confidence until I was ready to share with the team. Shortly after, during a conversation between me and him discussing my job duties regarding my pregnancy, prior to telling the team, my boss asked if he could call my coworker over into the conversation and I said yes, assuming he wanted to talk to her about taking over some of the duties that he had just expressed he didn't want me to have to do further along in my pregnancy. But when she came over my boss suddenly announced my pregnancy to my coworker by saying "Sarah got herself knocked up!"
This same coworker told me later that day that our boss had already hinted to her about my pregnancy a few days prior by saying, “I'm not sure how much longer [my name] can do things, in her condition.” I feel very upset that he was telling people my news which is also confidential medical information, as well as assuming my abilities.
When I informed my work team of my pregnancy my boss proceeded to make a bunch of jokes about the “husband stitch” in the meeting for everyone to hear, and he told me I would need to warn my husband not to do the same thing in the delivery room. I told my boss my husband wasn't like that and it wouldn't be a problem and he insisted, “Believe me, every husband wants to make those jokes”. I told him, “That’s very sexist.” But he did not take the hint.
In this same team meeting the topic of baby showers came up and whether I would have one at work, and my boss said I should paint my belly like a beach ball for the baby shower and asked if the baby shower could be co-ed or, “One of those lame 'girls only' ones”. I said, "It could be co-ed only if you can be appropriate!" However he still didn't seem to get the hint and started to act out a stereotyped version of a pregnant woman, like charades, laughing at how pregnant women walk and get out of chairs. He was holding his lower back and groaning and waddling around, and then said "oh you poor things, I feel sorry for you girls going through it, but it's like 'oh you're so cute!'"
A little later a different manager had sent my boss a picture of a new baby in her family and he called me over and showed me the photo and said "Look! These things come out of your guys' va-jay-jays and they're so stinkin’ cute! Can't wait to get pictures of yours!" Even though I don't think my boss is a predator toward children I was still very uncomfortable giving him photos of my daughter at this point.
About 4 months before my due date my boss asked me if I had applied for maternity leave yet and he informed me that he had rubber gloves if I wanted to stay at work “till it was time to pop”. I was pretty grossed out by the implication that he wanted to deliver my baby. I did stay at work until a few days before delivering and that had been my plan all along, so I didn't appreciate the weird pressure to take leave sooner.
I'm not good about speaking up in uncomfortable situations, especially when I'm in shock at what was just said, but I was trying hard to say something and ended up along the lines of “Um, okay that was over the line,” but he seemed to think we were bantering back and forth and it was all a joke. Once when I spoke up in a similar way he retorted, “Remember that sweet, innocent almost childlike person who got hired last year? Where did she go?”
My boss said he didn't want me driving the work delivery van later in pregnancy. I said that's fine and asked why. Then again he started acting out a stereotyped pregnant woman by waddling, sticking his stomach out, holding his lower back, groaning, and then told me that's how it would be for me. I told him, “Please don't stereotype my pregnancy. It’s different for everyone. I'll ask for the support I need.” But he kept telling me how miserable I would be later in pregnancy and when I said, “It’s different for everyone, we’ll see how it goes”, he started bragging about how many women he's "knocked up" and that "he knows" because he's seen what they went through. I told him it might not be like that for me, and indeed it wasn't. I had a really easy pregnancy all the way through and had pretty much no limitations in any of my job duties. I didn't walk with a waddle, or have any back pain or do any of the things he insisted I would do. Not that I would ever look down on women who experience those things, but it wasn't the case for me and it was frustrating that he kept stereotyping me and insisting on what I would go through. He was trying to tell me about my own body and even though I hadn't been pregnant before I knew my body and I was fairly certain that wouldn't be how the experience would be for me. He didn't believe me, but I ended up being right.
My boss told me a lot of really personal stories about his wife such as saying that he was her first sexual partner and that she gets really jealous as a result, and that he often tries to make her jealous on purpose by telling her how beautiful all the women he works with are, all the while making eye contact with me. He also said, “I destroyed that girl!” in reference to his wife having a hard pregnancy. He also continuously implied that he has had a lot of sexual partners.
When I reported these incidences to my HR department, They interviewed my other coworkers as a way to gather evidence on whether these things happened and most of the stories were substantiated. Some of them weren't because no witnesses were there. My boss had to work from home throughout the investigation which took about 3 months.
I've been having a lot of mixed emotions since reporting him, which took a lot of bravery on my part. I'm partly feeling very proud of myself and partly feeling very guilty and regretful.
My HR department found my boss guilty of sexual harassment and this validates that I did the right thing by reporting him - however I'm still feeling very guilty. My brain tells me that it was just a few comments, that he didn't mean anything by it and that I could have handled it. I also keep remembering the ways that he has been a good boss sometimes such as being really supportive when I had some family emergencies and how accommodating he was and how he has always worked with us on our time off requests, allowed us to work independently, always asked us what jobs we prefer doing and did his best to accommodate our preferences. I keep feeling like I should not have destroyed someone's life by ruining his career. I'm actually not sure yet if he is getting terminated or demoted, but it's likely that something like that will happen. It's still in process. He's not a rich guy who had things handed to him, he did have to work for his position and so I feel really bad.
When I received the report from HR on the results of the investigation, even though he was found guilty of breaking multiple ethics codes, there are many stories that I shared that he denied and it felt pretty awful seeing that he did that. Oddly enough he admitted to some of them and it seemed arbitrary which things he admitted in which things he denied. I'm currently on maternity leave so I haven't been at work recently to see what the atmosphere is there, but I'm nervous about the dynamics on the team since it'll probably be obvious who reported him and I'm hoping that nobody is upset at me.

2023.05.31 03:00 Eddtheartist16 Sachiko "Sonic" Hakuta Character Bio (This is an OC inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog)
Name: Sachiko “Sonic” Hakuta
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Birthday: June 23
Quirk: Sonic Speed
Appearance: Sonic is of average height and has an athletic build. She has an olive skin tone, spiky blue hair, piercing green eyes, and a smile that can range from friendly to cocky. For her regular outfit, she wears a beige shirt that has the word “Speed” on it in big bold blue letters, over her beige shirt she wears a cobalt blue bomber jacket that fits perfectly on her and plain white fingerless gloves. For the bottom half of her outfit, she wears soft cobalt blue sweatpants, white socks, and red high-top Nike shoes with white laces and yellow-colored soles.
Personality: Sachiko is a complex and multifaceted individual, with both strengths and weaknesses that make her unique. On one hand, she can come off as a loudmouth, cocky, rebellious, impulsive, petty, and impatient. She's a thrill seeker who enjoys pushing herself to the limits, and she's always up for a challenge.
However, beneath her tough exterior, Sachiko is also a loyal, brave, and heroic individual who will stop at nothing to protect her friends and loved ones. She's quick thinking, introspective, and always willing to learn from her mistakes. She has a kind and compassionate heart, and she genuinely cares about the people around her.
Sachiko is a charismatic individual who can easily win people over with her bold and confident personality. However, her recklessness and impulsive nature can sometimes lead her into dangerous or unpredictable situations. Despite this, she's resourceful and able to come up with innovative solutions to problems, even in high-pressure situations.
Sachiko's carefree and easygoing nature makes her enjoy games, jokes, and other forms of lighthearted fun. At the same time, her perceptiveness and a keen eye for detail allow her to pick up on subtle cues and clues that others might miss. All in all, Sachiko is a dynamic and interesting individual with a lot of potential for growth and development throughout her journey at UA.
Hero outfit: Sachiko's hero outfit is a combination of practicality and flashiness, designed to help her channel her Sonic-inspired powers to the fullest. Her outfit is primarily composed of sleek blue and white armor, with red accents that match her high-top Nike shoes.
To help her move at superspeed, Sachiko's shoes are customized with special materials that can withstand the intense friction and heat generated by her powers. They are fitted with white, silver, and red accents that give them a futuristic look, and they have a specialized sole that helps her maintain her grip on any surface.
Her hi-tech glasses are designed to protect her eyes from debris and wind resistance, which can be hazardous at high speeds. The lenses are made of durable and scratch-resistant materials, and they have a sleek silver frame that complements her armor.
Sachiko's energy supplements are compact and easy to carry, providing her with the boost she needs to run longer and faster. They are contained in a small pouch attached to her waistband, with the pouch designed to blend seamlessly with her armor.
Overall, Sachiko's hero outfit is designed to be both functional and eye-catching, with a nod to her Sonic-inspired powers. It's a perfect representation of her personality and abilities, allowing her to tackle any challenge that comes her way with style and confidence.
Quirk: Sachiko's quirk is called Sonic Speed, and it allows her to move at superhuman velocities that far exceed those of any other person. She can run, jump, and move at a speed that makes her seem like a blur to the naked eye, with agility and reflexes that match her speed.
At her maximum speed, Sachiko can move at an incredible Mach 3, which is roughly 2,300 miles per hour. This allows her to run across vast distances in seconds, dodge attacks with ease, and deliver incredibly powerful blows to her enemies.
However, such incredible speed comes with its drawbacks. Sachiko's body generates an immense amount of heat when she moves at high speeds, which can cause her to overheat and become exhausted if she exerts herself too much.
Additionally, her powers make her less effective in close combat, as her high speed can make it difficult for her to maintain her balance and land blows accurately.
Despite these drawbacks, Sachiko's Sonic Speed has many creative applications. She can use her speed to create sonic booms that disorient and damage her enemies, run up walls and across ceilings, and even create cyclones with her movements. Also, she can run on walls and across water, and can even use her momentum to generate powerful kicks and punches.
Sachiko is aware of the untapped potential of her quirk, and she holds back on purpose during battles to make them more challenging and interesting. She enjoys pushing herself to the limit and exploring new ways to use her powers creatively. She is always looking for new ways to improve her abilities and become an even better hero.
In short, Sachiko's Sonic Speed quirk is a powerful and versatile ability that allows her to move at incredible speeds and perform amazing feats of agility and strength. With practice and training, she has the potential to unlock even more untapped potential, and she is always striving to become a stronger, more effective hero.
Background: Sachiko was born into a family of superheroes. Her parents were both well-known heroes, with her mother possessing the power of flight and her father possessing super strength. Growing up, Sachiko was constantly surrounded by talk of heroism and the responsibilities that came with having a quirk. Despite their high expectations for her, Sachiko struggled to find her place in the world of heroism. Her parents' shadow loomed over her, and she felt that she would never be able to measure up to their legacy.
However, everything changed for Sachiko when she discovered her love for speed. She realized that her quirk, Sonic Speed, was not just a tool for transportation but could also be used to save lives and fight crime. She started practicing with her speed, pushing herself to see just how fast she could go. Her parents were initially hesitant about her new passion, fearing for her safety, but they eventually came around when they saw the determination in her eyes.
Sachiko enrolled at UA High School to hone her skills and become the hero she always knew she could be. She quickly became known as the fastest student in Class 1-A, impressing her peers and teachers alike with her speed and quick thinking. However, Sachiko held back in battles, preferring to make her fights last longer and be more challenging. She knew that if she went all-out, her fights would be over too quickly, and she didn't want to disappoint anyone. She was always looking for ways to improve and to find new ways to use her quirk.
Despite the pressure of her parents' legacy and the expectations placed on her as a hero, Sachiko remained true to herself. She was independent, creative, and always willing to help those in need. She knew that being a hero wasn't just about having a powerful quirk but also about having a strong moral compass and a desire to make the world a better place. Sachiko was determined to use her quirk to do just that.
Strengths:
- Superspeed: Sachiko's quirk, Sonic Speed, is incredibly powerful and allows her to move at lightning-fast speeds. This makes her an excellent asset in battles and allows her to quickly come to the aid of those in need.
- Quick thinking: Sachiko's superspeed requires her to be quick on her feet both physically and mentally. She is able to think and react quickly, making her a formidable opponent in battles.
- Courageous: Sachiko has a strong sense of justice and a desire to protect those around her. She is not afraid to put herself in harm's way if it means saving others.
- Loyal: Sachiko values her friendships and relationships deeply. She is fiercely loyal to those she cares about and will go to great lengths to protect them.
- Creativity: Sachiko is always looking for new ways to use her quirk and find solutions to problems. She is a creative thinker and is not afraid to try out new approaches.
- Independent: Sachiko is confident in her abilities and does not rely on others to get things done. She is self-sufficient and can handle challenges on her own.
- Adaptable: Sachiko is able to adjust quickly to changing circumstances and can think on her feet. She is not thrown off by unexpected challenges and can adapt to new situations easily.
Weaknesses:
- Overconfidence: Sachiko's cocky and impulsive nature can sometimes make her overestimate her abilities. This can lead her to make careless mistakes or underestimate her opponents.
- Impatience: Sachiko's desire to be constantly moving can sometimes lead to impatience and a lack of focus. This can be a weakness in battles where strategy and patience are necessary.
- Stamina: Sachiko's quirk, Sonic Speed, requires a lot of physical energy and can quickly tire her out. If she uses her quirk too much, she can become fatigued and less effective in battles.
- Vulnerability: Sachiko's superspeed makes her vulnerable to attacks that can catch her off guard. If her opponents can slow her down or find ways to trap her, she can be at a disadvantage.
- Dependence on her quirk: Sachiko's reliance on her quirk can sometimes lead her to neglect other aspects of her training. This can make her less effective in battles where she can't rely solely on her speed.
- Emotional impulsiveness: Sachiko's emotions can sometimes get the best of her, leading her to act impulsively or recklessly. This can make her unpredictable in battles and lead her to make risky decisions.
- Stubbornness: Sachiko's determination and independence can sometimes make her stubborn. She can be resistant to new ideas or approaches, which can limit her potential for growth and development.
Hobbies:
Running: As someone with superhuman speed, Sachiko loves to run and challenge herself to go faster and farther. Whether it's for exercise or just for fun, Sachiko enjoys pushing her limits and seeing just how fast she can go.
Music: Sachiko has a love for music, and can often be found listening to her favorite bands or playing her guitar. Music is a way for her to relax and unwind after a long day, or to get pumped up and ready for battles.
Gaming: Sachiko is a big fan of video games and enjoys exploring virtual worlds, especially those that are fast-paced and action-packed. She also enjoys playing games with her friends and family.
Exploring: Sachiko's adventurous spirit leads her to enjoy exploring new places, both in her local neighborhood and on school trips. She loves to discover new sights, sounds, and experiences.
Martial Arts: Given Sachiko's desire to become a hero, she has also taken up martial arts training to help improve her combat skills. She enjoys learning new techniques and mastering different forms of martial arts.
Fashion: Sachiko has a keen eye for fashion and enjoys creating unique outfits to wear, both in her daily life and as a hero. She likes to experiment with different colors, patterns, and styles and takes pride in her appearance.
Eating: Sachiko's high metabolism from her quirk means she enjoys eating a lot and trying new foods. She loves to sample different cuisines and flavors and is always up for a food challenge.
Skateboarding: Sachiko is also an avid skateboarder, enjoying the feeling of cruising around on her board and performing cool tricks and stunts. Skateboarding gives her an additional mode of transportation outside of running and provides a fun and exciting way to stay active and challenge herself.
Family: Sachiko's family has a long history of heroism and is known throughout the hero community for their bravery and dedication to protecting others. Her parents are both retired heroes, and her older brother, Toshiro, is currently a pro hero. They are a close-knit family who value each other's opinions and support one another.
Sachiko's mother, Akira, was known as "The Sky Guardian" during her hero days. She possessed the ability to fly at incredible speeds and was instrumental in rescuing civilians during natural disasters. Despite her mother's impressive powers, Akira was always kind and nurturing towards her daughter, encouraging her to follow her own path and not feel pressured to live up to her parent's expectations.
Sachiko's father, Hiroshi, was known as "The Colossus" and was one of the strongest heroes of his time. He possessed immense strength and durability, making him a formidable opponent in battles. He was also known for his kindness and humility, often putting others before himself.
Sachiko's older brother, Toshiro, is a pro hero known as "Thunderbolt." He possesses the ability to control electricity and uses it to subdue villains and protect civilians. Despite being an accomplished hero, Toshiro is supportive of his younger sister and encourages her to follow her own path.
Overall, Sachiko's family is a loving and supportive one, with a strong tradition of heroism that has inspired Sachiko to become the hero she is today.
Sachiko’s Class 1A friends: Sachiko's friendship with her Class 1A friends is important to her, as they are the first group of peers she has ever had who understand the challenges of being a hero. She feels comfortable around them and enjoys spending time with them both in and out of class.

Tera had always possessed an innate ability to connect with others and ease their pain, both physical and emotional. Her kind and nurturing nature led her to pursue a career in education, becoming a beloved teacher at a local high school. However, Tera's life took an extraordinary turn when she encountered a mystical artifact during a hiking trip in the deep forests of upstate New York. The artifact, known as the Verdant Crystal, emitted a radiant green glow and exuded an aura of profound healing energy. Unbeknownst to Tera, she possessed a unique affinity for the crystal's power. As she approached it, the crystal resonated with her kind-hearted spirit, granting her a remarkable ability. She was given a magnificent pair of emerald green wings capable of flight, symbolizing her connection to nature and her newfound healing powers. Embracing her role as a guardian of healing, Tera adopted the superhero persona of Sweet Tera. Donning a vibrant green and white costume, she dedicated herself to protecting the innocent and using her powers to bring comfort and restoration to those in need. 2023.05.31 01:43 NickelStickman [Music] We Don't Talk About Bob; The Story of How My Chemical Romance's Most Famous Drummer Became an Enemy to The Band's Fanbase
My Chemical Romance formed in 2001 in New Jersey and would go on to define the 2000s "emo" scene. The 2004 album "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" and 2006's "The Black Parade" remain defining albums of the decade and have only grown with praise over time, while lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way have become icons all with massively devoted fanbases. Notice I named four band members there. A cursory glance of google images shows five band members in many of the pictures. More recent photos only show the four mentioned above, to reflect that currently, the band lacks a drummer. As far as the fandom was concerned, there never was one, despite all of the photos you see showing five members. What happened to the drummer, and why, compared to many other fanbases who cling desperately to the 'classic lineup', are MCR fans so eager to erase him? This is the story of how MCR's most famous drummer destroyed his reputation and became a pariah to the fanbase of his own former band.
The Golden Age of Bob: Almost immediately after the release of Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, My Chemical Romance was left without a drummer after Matt Pelissier was removed from the group. While not officially confirmed, poor live performances are often given as the reason for his dismissal. Quickly, MCR found a replacement in the form of Bob Bryar, who had previously been a drum tech for The Used, who MCR were close with at the time. Bryar would appear in every music video made for Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, played on the live album "Life on the Murder Scene", and would continue to perform with the band through their next album, "The Black Parade" and its corresponding live release. Bryar's time with the band marked the band's explosion in popularity, and as such Bryar was showered in praise, fan art, and would appear in the band's infamously common RPF (I believe his most common ship was with Ray Toro), though to a lesser extent compared to other band members due to him being more introverted and not seeming too fond of the spotlight.
Bob Leaves MCR: On March 3rd 2010, the following message was posted to the My Chemical Romance website, to devastation among the band's devoted fanbase:
"As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same."
No reason has been given to why Bryar left the group, though many rumors have circulated over the years. Bob is known to have not been a fan of the band's decision to scrap their initially planned fourth album, which would later be released under the name "Conventional Weapons", and disliked the poppier direction of its follow-up "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys". In addition, Bob was beginning to have complications with his health on The Black Parade tour. Bob had received both third degree burns and a staph infection as a result of the filming of "Famous Last Words" music video, and would later have to sit out shows from November 2007 to January 2008 due to a "golf ball sized lump" in his wrist causing him to lose control and feeling in his fingers. Apparently, he had had problems with his wrist for years by that point. These injuries would leave lasting effects and ultimately make playing drums extremely difficult for Bob, leading to him essentially never playing drums again after leaving the band.
The more sinister explanation for his departure was that he had been feuding with, or even bullying Mikey Way and had been kicked out as a result, but only hearsay and Bob's actions post departure support this theory. While a commonly spread theory among the fandom, there is no evidence to suggest it is actually true.
The Golden Age of Bob Making an Ass Out of Himself: My Chemical Romance had broken up relatively recently, and even more recently, Mikey Way had gotten a divorce from his wife. Immediately after this, Way began dating a 19-year-old girl named Sarah. Immediately, people began accusing Mikey of cheating on his wife with this 19-year-old fan, and one of these accusers would be former bandmate Bob Bryar, who replied to an image of Mikey with Sarah's family with two emojis. 👪🍳 . This translated to "Family Breakfast". People praised Bob's joke as hilarious, due to Mikey being an enemy towards a lot of the fandom at the time. After this, Bob proceeded to run the joke into the ground. Eventually, however Bob went too far, replying to a tweet of Mikey's speaking about his drug addiction with the same two Family Breakfast emojis. By this point, the fandom had decided Bob had gone too far, being viewed as someone making fun of his former bandmate's drug addiction.
Bob had done a lot more than simply Family Breakfast to rub the fandom the wrong way, however, with some of the highlights including:
-
Spreading (false) MCR reunion rumors, and just rumors about the band in general -
Making jokes about leaking Gerard Way's nudes. In addition, his profile picture of him wearing a black mask was interpreted by many (though not universally), as blackface -
Posting a "Find Kanye" meme many viewed as racist -
Making jokes about cops shooting protestors at 2015 Baltimore Protests inspired by the death of Freddie Gray - As a side note, while many fans will point to Bob as having stolen from the band or setting the band's tour van on fire, neither of these are true. The former was done by Bob's replacement Michael Pedicone, and the latter is attributed to Matt Pelissier, though it's doubtful Matt actually set the band's van on fire either.
The combination of his edgy sense of humor and the Family Breakfast incident had made Bob a pariah among the MCR fandom, being viewed as a racist bully towards Mikey who was bitter about no longer being a band member. Bob was now intentionally forgotten by the fandom outside of naive and new fans asking what he had done. He no longer received any fan art or appeared in fanfic, a tumblr blog was made solely to edit him out of previous band photos, and fans would only ever mention My Chemical Romance as having four members. By 2015, Bob had abandoned his social media pages.
As for the remaining members of My Chemical Romance, none of ever commented on Bob's controversies. Mikey would later refollow Bob on Twitter, and according to Bob himself later on, the two had reconciled. During 2022,
new action figures of the band would be made by Kidrobot featuring Bob, suggesting that his erasure from the band's history did not extend to the band members themselves.
Resurgence: With his social media pages gone, Bob largely remained out of the public eye, getting a new job as a real estate agent. In June 2021, however, he would briefly return to social media in order to auction off the drum kit he had used for the "Helena" music video, donating the proceeds to Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center located in Franklin, Tennessee. According to Bob, this was his final drum kit and he was "permanently closing the book on his drumming days", citing the wrist issues he still dealt with, as well as his old age, weight, and desire to pursue "something new". His brief return caused fans to re-evaluate their treatment of Bob, with the aforementioned Tumblr blog dedicated to erasing him from photos being shut down. Bob would return once again in October 2022 to auction off his iconic Black Parade costume to benefit animals affected by Hurricane Ian, citing that "it's just sitting in a box doing nothing and people need help with money right now". During this auction however, Bob would have a concerning twitter incident.
Bob's Breakdown: On the night of October 24th, Bob's twitter became active, with him demanding Worm (an associate of MCR) call him, and then shortly after, speaking out for the first time about
the hatred he had received from the fandom. He mentioned wanting to be interviewed about his controversies and had seemingly picked up a new favorite annoying joke to shove into every post in the form of "Period. Ah!" Shortly after this, Bob claimed to have been driving while under the influence. Fan reaction was largely very concerned about his mental health, and many showed remorse about how Bob had been treated over the years and condemned those who were not sympathetic to his tweets, many pointing out that several fans had told Bob to kill himself during what many considered to be a mental breakdown. Fortunately, Bob would later return a few days later fondly reminiscing about his time on MCR, before quietly disappearing once again.
Conclusion: While nowadays you can find more fans willing to reevaluate Bob's behavior as "not that bad" or at least believing the backlash to him was blown way out of proportion, it would be difficult to say Bob's image has been rehabilitated, with many more than willing to recap his various controversies to new fans wondering who he did, or on rarer occasions, who the hell Bob even is and genuine fans of him being hard to come by. Praise for him often comes in the form of "I'm not defending what he did, but.." At this rate, it's likely Bob's twitter incidents will continue to overshadow him for the foreseeable future, and in the eyes of many fans, My Chemical Romance are a band without a drummer, at least unless Jarrod Alexander gets a promotion form touring musician to full member. He seems to be the only one of the band's four long-term drummers fans seem fond of.

2023.05.30 23:40 GayCatDaddy The Halloween Episode - A ChatGPT Creation
I know many of us are disappointed that there was never a bona fide Halloween episode, so I decided to ask ChatGPT to create one!
Here's an episode of The Golden Girls titled "A Hauntingly Fabulous Halloween Party":
[INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY]
The living room is filled with Halloween decorations. Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia are frantically preparing for their Halloween party. Dorothy is dressed as Charlotte Bronte, Rose as a chicken, Blanche as a sexy witch, and Sophia as Freddy Krueger.
DOROTHY: (adjusting her bonnet) Alright, ladies, we have a lot to do before our guests arrive. Rose, have you finished carving the pumpkins?
ROSE: (holding a pumpkin with a chicken face) You betcha, Dorothy! Look, I made a chicken pumpkin just for me!
BLANCHE: (smirking) Rose, dear, you always find a way to make everything about chickens. Now, let's focus on making this party the talk of the town.
SOPHIA: (brandishing her Freddy Krueger glove) Well, I don't know about the talk of the town, but this party better have good cannoli. I'm not dressing up like Freddy Krueger for nothing.
[INT. KITCHEN - DAY]
The girls are busy in the kitchen, preparing spooky treats. Blanche stirs a cauldron of punch, while Dorothy and Rose decorate cupcakes.
DOROTHY: (smiling) Blanche, that punch looks positively bewitching. I'm sure it'll cast a spell on our guests.
BLANCHE: (winking) Oh, you know me, Dorothy. I have a knack for brewing potions and enchanting hearts.
ROSE: (placing a chicken-shaped cupcake topper) These chicken cupcakes are going to be a cluckin' success. Everyone will be squawking about them!
[INT. LIVING ROOM - EVENING]
The living room is now transformed into a Halloween wonderland. The doorbell rings, and the girls excitedly welcome their guests, including STAN.
DOROTHY: (surprised) Stan, what are you doing here? I didn't think you'd be interested in our Halloween party.
STAN: (smirking) Well, Dorothy, I may not be a fan of Halloween, but I couldn't resist seeing what costume you'd be wearing. Charlotte Bronte suits you.
DOROTHY: (rolling her eyes) Just be thankful I didn't dress as Jane Eyre's moody alter ego.
[INT. LIVING ROOM - LATER]
The party is in full swing. The guests are mingling, dancing, and enjoying the spooky ambiance.
BLANCHE: (winking at a guest) Careful, darling, my broomstick isn't the only thing that's magical tonight.
SOPHIA: (threateningly) Freddy Krueger's got nothing on me, folks. You better believe it.
ROSE: (giggling) And remember, chickens can be scary too! Boo-coo-ca-doo!
STAN: (approaching Dorothy) Dorothy, I must admit, seeing you in that costume brings back memories. You've always had a way of surprising me.
DOROTHY: (softening) Well, Stan, Halloween has a funny way of bringing out our playful sides. It's nice to see you here.
[INT. KITCHEN - LATER]
The girls take a moment to catch their breath in the kitchen, away from the party.
DOROTHY: (smiling) I must say, ladies, our Halloween party is a success. It's been so much fun seeing everyone enjoying themselves.
SOPHIA: (grinning) And I got to scare a few people with my Freddy Kreuger moves. That's a bonus.
BLANCHE: (sipping her punch) It's nights like these that remind me how lucky we are to have each other. And fabulous costumes, of course.
ROSE: (holding a chicken-shaped cupcake) Absolutely! Our Halloween party is a clucking good time!
They share a toast, reveling in the joy of the Halloween celebration.
FADE OUT.

2023.05.30 22:09 Vandorbelt I feel like they really did Zelda dirty in TotK
Major spoilers ahead for anyone that accidentally ended up in this post. This is your warning. Hell, warning for everyone here, this is a long rant, so be prepared. Here we go...
This has been a gripe that has been building over the course of my playthrough, starting with the very first dragon's tear that you find in the northwest of Hyrule field, but to get into it, I have to provide some thoughts on the backstory coming into this game from BotW. In BotW, despite having an incredibly sparce story for the base game (don't hurt me, I haven't played the dlc), one of the central elements was Zelda's conflict between being a passive princess dedicated to ritual and duty and hoping that her power manifests, and her desire to embrace her own destiny by seeking ways to challenge Ganon without relying on her powers of light. The climax of this story ends with her finally realizing her powers not because of her role as princess, but because of her bond she grew with link over the course of her adventures while gathering the guardians.
The big primary character trait of Zelda is that she is a princess who makes her own way. She is soft-spoken at times, sure, but she is ultimately curious, motivated, and adventurous. She loves learning and seeing the world with her own eyes.
And ultimately, her final act of bravery was to lock herself in a century long battle of will with an ancient evil in order to seal it away and protect the kingdom. She is an incredibly strong-willed person who cares deeply about her friends and the people of Hyrule.
But what do we get in TotK? Well, in our initial scene beneath the castle, we get princess Zelda, the adventurous princess who wishes to explore the catacombs beneath the castle with her vigilant knight Link at her side. Awesome.
But then what? If we follow the story directly as laid out in the tears cutscenes, she's teleported back in time where she immediately seems unsure of herself. When queen Sonia offer for her to come back to the castle, she briefly protests, but seems to quickly give into to Sonia's quiet and comforting words. In fact, much of Zelda's behavior with Rauru and Sonia seems to have them being like surrogate parents, with her playing the part of the child who needs direction from the commanding father and gentle mother. She also gets a costume change from her normal cloaked outfit, to a more regal dress with some cutesy tears emblazoned on her cheeks.
I would have thought that Zelda, as versed on Sheika tech as she is, would have immediately taken more interest in Mineru and her work with the constructs, or would have thought herself to seek training from Sonia on how to control time, and yet at every step it seems other characters are laying out her path for her. Meanwhile, she just has this perpetual 🥺 face on all the time and seems largely confused by the things taking place around her. The first moment it seems we get an actual look of determination on her face is when she and Sonia confront ganondorf's puppet... right before Sonia is killed and Zelda immediately collapses next to her crying out in sadness.
And of course, what is her final act of bravery in this story? Quite literally to kill herself so that Link and his special sword can defeat Ganondorf. And mind you, it's not the culmination of some great personal development of her character. Quite the opposite. The pieces to the puzzle were all put in place by others. Her powers were a product of her liniage, passed down by blood from Rauru and Sonia, the master sword was sent back in time by link, the secret stones were a gift to the sages from the zonai, and the knowledge about the master sword and eternal dragon were given to her by the deku tree and Merenu. All she had to do was put them all together. Nothing about her personal journey or growth is relevant to her ability to do any of this.
Perhaps the greatest achievement of Zelda from her time in the past was the brief period between the imprisoning and the death of Merenu, where the two of them cooperated to set up the events of the game so that Link could find the master sword and save the kingdom, but this was only given brief mention in a snippet of dialogue from Merenu after the spirit temple. Hell, Zelda's dragon transformation would have been far more impactful if her final cutscenes had her as a much older woman, having spent years preparing and guiding the early kingdom of Hyrule. Plus, if she were older, it'd truly drive home the tragedy of the act by emphasizing the fact that she was never going to truly reunite with link. Even if she was transformed back, she'd be decades older.
But, of course, she is going to get transformed back, and we all know it, and so the whole thing loses its value. Not only that, but the thing that changes her back? Some vague bullshit about the power of Sonia and Rauru being channeled through link, which also somehow heals his arm? We are never given any indication that this is possible, or any real explanation for why it happens at the moment it does, it just does.
And look, I'm not saying Zelda has to be a fucking girlboss or anything. I get that this story is more focused on the Zonai, hyrule's history, and the imprisoning war with the demon king, but did they really need to strip her of all agency? I mean, BotW felt like it was at least trying to subvert the traditional princess archetype of the helpless maiden who needs her dutiful knight to save her, and yet in this story she really seems to be just that: an object for you to rescue, completely incapable of making any sort of meaningful personal contribution.
I mean, even in the throne room scene with Rauru and Ganondorf, she expresses a unsure discomfort with Ganondorf, before Rauru immediately follows with "yeah, he's definitely evil, I just want to keep him close." Like, great, so Zelda tries to provide some emotional insight into a character, but it turns out Rauru is not only already aware, but far more convicted in his belief and already acting on it. Great.
Anyway, this has been a long rant and I won't waste any more of your time, but this has just been bugging me and I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned it. I feel like the story really took a step back in the way it treats Zelda as a character, and it felt like it really undermined the message of the first game. I almost feel like TotK would have been better if it were just another Zelda game taking place in an ambiguous distant era with a new link and Zelda, rather than a direct sequel to BotW...
