I told the police about it but they didn't seem to care at all. Bright green bike, doesn't look fancy, I think it's like a trick bike because it has those side bars sticking out from the front tire. A little beat up.
I believe the brand is Exile because it has that written on the body. It showed up here about 3-4 weeks ago, dumped in the parking lot for my apartment block - I had to move it so it wouldn't get run over by cars coming in in the dark. If you think it's yours let me know.

I (28F) was invited to my brother’s (32M) wife’s (33F) small birthday party. It would take place at her sister’s house, and the guests would be me, my brother, his wife, her sister, sister’s husband, sister’s baby (1.5?F) and their mother. (So 7 people)
(Edit: all contact about this has been with my brother btw, I haven’t spoken to his wife yet)
I did not want to go as although I’ve met her family quite a few times, I frankly don’t find it fun spending time with them because I don’t feel they are my close family. Her mum is nice but is quite overbearing and very fussy about the baby.
The last time I saw them, it was the same group and same situation but at their apartment, and the whole day was taken up by grandma fussing the baby and playing really loud baby music. There wasn’t much space to chat or relax. I understand because the baby is wonderful but yeah, I didn’t really get to spend time with my brother and his wife (who I really like)
I have also never been to her sisters house before so it all seemed a bit much. I declined the invitation to my brother over text stating I wasn’t feeling a big family party this weekend and suggested we meet up another day this month to celebrate her birthday.
He replied and said, “well, sisters pregnancy is about half way now, so it won’t be a big party! Just tea, lunch, go to the park yknow”.
I find that incredibly uncomfortable because I didn’t know her sister was pregnant (last time she texted me to let me know, I guess when she was comfortable to tell people). I think it’s weird my brother used this news to try and get me to attend their party.
I didn’t reply and I’m hoping to just text his wife happy birthday and to arrange lunch with her next week but I’m worried I’m being unreasonable. It is selfish that I don’t want to spend my weekend with someone else’s family tbh, but I also don’t really believe in going to things I don’t want to go to.
My brother is always forceful when it comes to these events. He believes I have an obligation to go, but he married into the family, I didn’t.
It’s been 7 years and he’s invited me to countries events with her family which I mostly decline to attend. He gets annoyed every time and invites me to the next thing and this whole situation happens again. I’m tired

Hi I am 19, nb, and I just got through my first year of college. Unfortunately, it is summer break and now I am back in my hometown. Which means I am back at home. Which means I am back in hell. I orginally did not plan to be here for the summer, but nothing really went exactly as planned so I thought maybe just maybe I could tough it out for summer and not go insane. Which I knew would still be risky and the idea frightened me. But I convinced myself that could keep the mental progress I made in college protected and come out just fine when I move into my apartment in august. I thought so so wrong. Like colassally wrong.It of course has not been easy with nparents. And I really can't take this mental warfare any longer. I can only lose so much of my sanity. I haven't had a single day of peace. so instead of a break its feeling a lot more like solitary confinement.
Long story short, im at my limit. and while I can easily ignore them myself and grey rock for myself. I cannot do that when they abuse my 6 year old brother. I've tried. its no use that's my weakness I just can't sit and let that happen. which unfortunately just bites me in the ass of course. You ask an adult to just not hit a child and suddenly the adult throws a fit and suddenly feels the need to threaten to not help pay for college and calls you a b word. luckily they tend to do that often, i know that there is an actual word for it i just cant recall, but i wasnt exactly shocked they would do that. despite them having insisting that i focus on my studies and not worry about paying for college (bs). in short whatever helps me move foward in life is always at risk of being sabotaged.
I know that they are not dependable. Im well aware it’s always been something ive known. But I could not help but depend on people that are supposed to be my parents. I digress its a lesson I’ve learned time and time again. And I’m just sick of this waiting game. And im sick of being toyed with. And im sick of being tired.
Because I’m 19 now they are well within their rights one day to just simply randomly kick me out. Regardless of them also insisting that it’s a “better idea” to stay home for the summer rather than on campus and to not worry about the money. I did worry but not enough.
I’m scared they’ll kick me out and I won’t be prepared. There’s two months left until break ends. I will continue to work my ass off and pay for college myself no sweat. But the issue here is if they kick me out I have no where to go. I’ll be homeless. I have a friend in town but cant stay with her not because she doesn’t want me to but because 1. parents are well acquainted with mine and 2. She lives in my neighborhood.
But I’m worried that that’s their next step. And I don’t know what to do. The other choice I would have is jumping the gun and just going to a homeless shelter myself. But thats no walk in the park at all. What I hope is that despite not enjoying the nparents dungeon i at least can make food and i have the bare necessities. if I can tough it out for 2 months and then go to school that would be my best bet. But I just don’t know how to secure that. Despite everything though I do plan on packing to have what I need on hand just in case.
TL;DR How do I ensure that I have the two months here at “home” to work my ass off and then go right back to college and never look back? Or should I just go to a homeless shelter on my own for two months? And see where to go from there?

I am an incoming grad student moving to Atlanta. I'd like to live in Midtown or whatever area would be as safe as possible. I have a lot of friends that live in Midtown which is another motivator as I do not know if I will have a car as of right now (they can drive me to campus if need be).

So I live in Austin tx. We have a metropolitan park located in north Austin that is almost 300 acres. I visit this park often and have never had a weird experience until now.
This park has a ton of trails for mt biking and hiking. There’s also a creek that runs through the park.
2 days ago (6/7/23) I took my 4 kids and myself hiking on the trail. We arrived at the trail head around 4pm, and started our hike. There’s 3 bridges over water we pass during our hike. Each bridge was at least a half mile apart. Our destination required us to pass all three bridges before we started to make our way back. We made it to our destination, and started walking back with no issues, only the occasional mt biker passing by.
On the way back, As we walked over the 2nd bridge my kids and I (all under the age of 10) heard someone very clearly with a female voice under the bridge say ”hi my dear, come over here” x2. The first time we heard it we all stopped in our tracks and looked at each other like “did you hear that?!” My 9 year old daughter even asked “mom did you hear that?! What was that?!?”, and my 3 year old looked at me very perplexed. There was no one in sight.. I even looked under the bridge and count see anyone, but could hear some rustling.. Then a few seconds later we heard it again in the same exact tone/voice “hi my dear, come over here”. It was almost robotic..This was about an hr or so into our hike… so around 5-5:15pm.
At that point we all started swiftly walking towards the trail head. No one said a word the whole time. I remained calm as I always carry my side piece… so I had a form of self defense to rely on. But still, it definitely spooked me and the kids.
There’s a playground not far from the trailhead, and when I asked my kids if they wanted to play on the playground they all simultaneously and without missing a beat said “no” they wanted to go straight home.
Considering this is in Austin, it definitely could have been vagrant camping out at the park. This isn’t unusual. Regardless, if this was a vagrant high on drugs or a supernatural being it was still very creepy. We we’re all very spooked.

Hello!
I'll be moving to NYC for grad school (performance/composition degree) in the fall, and I think I'm going to leave my car (SUV). While I could conceivably get street parking somewhat-kind-of near my apartment, most people I've talked to have said it's more trouble than it's worth (alternating sides every week, monetary costs, etc.).
I have also heard from bassist friends up there that it's doable to ride the subway with a bass. Also, I'll (thankfully) have a locker on campus where I'll leave my good bass, and I'll be able to keep my beateoutside-gig-bass at home. So I'll just commute with an instrument for gigs; it's not gonna be an everyday thing (though hopefully, the gigs do become somewhat frequent, lol).
I kinda just can't wrap my head around walking around to subway stops and riding the train being the way I move around with this thing. But I've also heard people do it, and *many* people have told me not to bring a car. Would love to hear the thoughts of any bassists who've lived/spent time in the city!
Also, I'm thinking about a better solution to weatherproofing my bass if/when I need to move around in rain/snow. Not something I have to deal with currently, so all I have is a soft case, and I'm worried about the resilience of that/if it will protect the instrument from the more extreme weather conditions of NYC compared to my current climate (DFW area).

I don't have the space or facilities to get anything more involved than a flux core welder, or power tools for the job, but I have body rust that needs to be repaired eating holes the size of my fist around the wheel wells, below doors, and small sections of floorboard. Should I try my hand at learning flux core welding on the fly in an apartment parking lot, or should I go with fiberglass patching, since resin can't rust? I live southeast of St. Louis, if that helps with knowing what I'm fighting infrastructure wise.
Further details: budget isn't extensive, frame is good, and I'm already effectively broke saving for college and an engine overhaul.

In cities skylines it takes 2 seconds to make a curve. In Minecraft peaceful creative mode with city building retextured blocks, it takes approx. 2 1/2 hours AND you need to solve for X in algebraic BS from High school to solve this f* calculations.
Go ahead. Try it. Try making a curved road in minecraft blocks. I tried literally everything I possibly could've thought of, counting the spacings apart, using a calculator website showing me the shape of the diameter of the circle, and which positions the blocks need to be placed in.
Even if you did figure out the formula for the wide sweeping curve for the road, you still don't have a clue on how to layout the blocks to make a perfect curve.
I tried many times, different methods, different ways, every F* time it always caves in to the center of the curve, rather than curve out it thins out into a diagnal row.
5 blocks apart suddenly turned to 2 blocks apart. WHY.
It's a lot better building a city in minecraft because you can make any building you want and any parking lot you want without mods.

my mom came into town to visit me and shortly after she came in we went to get dinner. it’s important to note that about a month ago i made it a point to tell her on the phone that i wanted no animal products in my apartment, to which she agreed and didn’t question, seemed fine.
we’re at dinner and she ordered a carnitas taco and a taco soup (which had tons of shredded chicken). she mentioned taking the taco home because she was full and i was like well how would you heat that up? and she said with foil. i said okay, if you take it back will you eat it all? and she got pissed, like blew up on me type of mad saying i’m manipulating her and that no one will tell her what to eat at 60 years old.
after looking for hotels (instead of staying with me) she’s now leaving on the next flight out because it would cost the same. she plans to leave at 5:45am tomorrow and she got in at 4pm today.
currently sitting in my car crying and typing this out, i have no idea what to do. she thinks i’m being ridiculous but i think she is too. this is really disappointing all around and i hate it.
edit: i left out this part of the whole thing but after the taco she said “fine, they can throw it away” and pushed the plate away from herself. so she never even ate the taco, not even one bite. and as for the soup, she only drank the broth. the staff was concerned there was something wrong with the meal and made the effort to bring her a new serving of the soup with more broth in a separate bag. after they brought it, she left me at the table with the new soup. i brought it out to the car for her and she left it on the floor of the parking lot saying they could just put it in the dumpster. personally, i think this is childish behavior.

So, I've lived in Texas all my life and I'm currently in college. I wanted to move for college in the first place but I ended up staying home just because it was easier. But, I feel like moving somewhere else would just be so much better for me and my mental health and I think there'd be more opportunities for things like education and careers. I don't plan to move for a while since I still have 3 years of college left (I'm 19) and I don't plan on transferring (plans might change but idk). I have a list of places I might go and it includes:

1. LA
2. San Fransisco
3. Chicago
4. D.C
5. Seattle
6. Boston
7. New York City (?)

I don't really have any climate/weather preferences so my questions are mostly about public transportation (I can't drive for shit) which neighborhoods are cheapest or which neighborhoods I should look into (I also don't have noise preference or anything like that, the price is really the only thing that matters to me) and just what the city is like in general. Things like nightlife, places to visit, the overall atmosphere. I've lived in a kind of small city (not dallas, houstin, or austin) so I'm just not used to "big city life" but I'd rather live somewhere walkable and with good public transportation and I really want to get away from the city I live in now. Also, I just don't like Texas in general.
If there's any advice I can get for moving to a bigger city, looking for apartments, moving with a dog (I have a very small morkie, I don't feel safe leaving him with my family so I want to take him with me if possible), or visiting before I move, that'd be super helpful!
Alsoo I chose the cities based on their walkability and their public transportation. Ik only certain places in LA are walkable and the public transportation isn't the best but I just put them in a list 1-7 to list them, LA isn't my first choice at all it'll be the first one I take off the list tbh. But, the biggest factors for me are whether I can walk places and how well I can get around on public transportation bc I legit can't drive :( Also, it's an unfinished list these aren't the only places I'm considering and I'm rly not even considering NYC anymore. It's rly there as an idea of what I'm looking for when it comes to walkability and public transportation.

I'm going to check out an apartment in downtown Guelph this weekend but it doesn't come with a parking space. I know I can probably get by with street parking for the summer but how hard would it be to find a place to park during the winter?

The Bike Curious Ride meets every Sunday, in the parking lot on the west side of Browning Hangar (between Airport Blvd and the Hangar), currently at 5:45pm with wheels down at 6:00pm!
Our start time is adjusted seasonally.
We visit parks, parking garages, bakeries, and convenient stores as we ride around appreciating art. We typically ride about 10-15 miles, not too many hills, but you never know.
Note that this ride is a no drop ride, meaning everyone sticks together, and no one gets left behind. All skill levels are welcome.
This Sunday, June 11th, our end stop is at The Kebab Shop (1201 Barbara Jordan Blvd #200, Austin, TX 78723).
WHAT YOU NEED: Lights, Locks, Water, Wheels, an ID, money for food and drinks, and your friends.
HOW: Social Cycling Austin rides AS traffic and NOT AGAINST it. We stop at red lights, yield the right of way and let cars pass as best we can. We don't block intersections. I did ride the kiddie roller coasters as this is my home park, and Flying Ace Ariel Chase was my first roller coaster!
14 Great Pumpkin Coaster, very jittery and odd, doesn't look fun. I might've liked it when I was a kid, but I can't remember.
13 Flying Ace Ariel Chase, this ride was terrifying for me when I rode it 10 some odd years ago. Looking back it looks kinda rough and uncomfortable.
12 Woodstock Express, surprisingly smooth and kinda good airtime. I like this one.
11 Invertigo, impossible to avoid a headache on this bad boy. The anxiety going up the first lift is fun, but the cobra roll is seriously brutal if you don't prepare. Still this one's kind of fun and I wish I could justify putting it higher.
10 Adventure Express, dull layout but I like the theming on this one. I wish it did more but it's old Arrow so if it tried to do much more it would probably hurt.
9 Backlot Stunt Coaster, painful hard seats, so the helix seriously hurts, but the launch is decent and I love these clones. It's nothing too special though.
8 Racer, I wish this thing was smooth, the airtime is good, but the jackhammering is not very fun.
7 The Bat, I'm glad they rethemed this to the bat. It's very fun and you feel the speed and G's on this ride. I always love walking over to it because it's like a walk through the woods, and the view from the lift is pretty good.
6 Flight of Fear, I love the launch into the dark. The actual ride is getting pretty rough but it's just a lap bar so it's very easy to take. If you're riding with someone, make sure to watch that you don't smack them, or shoulder check them like I did to my girlfriend recently.
5 The Beast, this ride is so cool. Perfect theme, even if it is minimal, and it's so scenic just going through the woods. The way it interacts with the hills and tunnels makes me so happy. The final tunnel on the helix sounds like a screech and it's so cool. Unforgettable night ride on this thing. It's like no other.
4 Orion, not the giga we wanted, or even a giga, but it's what we got. There are a couple good parts but to me Orion is just a worse, taller Diamondback. Drop is great though.
3 Banshee, if only this ride didn't have the vest restraints, this might be my favorite inverted roller coaster, maybe even best in the park. Banshee is so forceful and a really good ride to bring someone new to roller coasters on. It's getting a little shaky but the good is much greater than the bad. I just can't get over how tight the vests get on me, and I'm 140 lbs.
2 Diamondback, even after 14 years, this ride still kicks. The drop in the back row is insane and if you lift your legs up a little to get some extra room, you get so much floater airtime. Not crazy intense but it's pretty smooth and so much fun. Better version than Orion.
1Mystic Timbers, so aggressive with a great restraint. So much airtime and incredibly smooth. I haven't met one person who got off this disappointed. I love this ride, even with the shed being a little disappointing.
Overall, this park is fantastic, and the ride lineup is top tier. I am so glad to call this my home park and I can't wait to see what they do next. I'm close to calling it the best park in Ohio, but the top rides just don't quite match up to Cedar Point's Maverick, Steel Vengeance, Millenium Force.

I have never posted anything here. But last year my bf broke up with me and i reacted very bad. I didnt leave my house for months. I tried going outside but i had panick attacs. So i found out i got agoraphobia. Fast forward a few monts. I had to move home bc me and my ex moved apart. My dad “forced” me to join him doing stuff. First thing we did was going for a drive. It was uncomfortable, but it went fine! And i even sat in the car in the parking lot while he went inside. Once i was so angry with this phobia that i just went into the store in anger with my dad. And it was so uncomfortable, but i did it and it went amazing! It felt so good to be done! And that summer everything got easier! I went to the zoo and the mall etc! I went to restaurants and i talked to strangers! I dont think my agoraphobia was as bad as many others. Because it was a reaction to a break up. Its not something i just got out if the blue, if that makes sence. So maybe its easier for me to get rid of it. Idk. But i still struggle. I cant take the bus yet or go to the dentist. But thats my goal for the summer. To take the bus to the dentist. I need to add that i had panick attacs just by being home alone. The panick attacs were so bad i almost threw up. And now i love being alone. But if anyone wanna ask question or anything then im here :) i havent struggled for years like many other people have. But i have almost 100% recovered
