I (30F) love my boyfriend (30M). We have been together for four years and own a home together. We have two dogs and no plans on having children. We both work the same hours and split household duties 50/50-ish. We were engaged to be married, and now we are not. He has moved out of our home temporarily (it was my wish).
He has always struggled (to some degree) with handling his emotions, as well as any confrontation. I have accepted this about him. Turns out he has been harbouring negative feelings and bitterness for quite some time now (regarding several itty bitty things) and this exploded into a mini breakup. He has immediacy regretted how he handled the situation, and would like to continue where we left off (get married). That is not possible for me at the moment, since he managed to shatter all trust in those few days of immaturity.
I am his first serious relationship. He has already booked an appointment with a therapist, and I will join him in therapy when needed. I can see and feel his regret and true emotions at this time. He is asking me to build trust as we go, but I am struggling with that. Although he needs to prove himself to me, I know that I also need to work on my own healing and forgiveness if we are ever to reach the same level of love that we had.
I am not asking for advice on whether or not I should stay with him, but rather on how to rebuild the trust in my heart. What concrete steps can I take, and how long of a process can I expect? If you gave up on trying, when did you know it was time to walk away?

Boxer

A common name for the Street Fighter character Balrog. We aren't just describing his profession for fun, though; his Japanese name is M. Bison, so we need a clear way to describe which character we're referring to. See also Dictator and Claw.

Claw

A common name for the Street Fighter character Vega. Because the Japanese call this character Balrog, we often use this more general name when discussing him so there's less confusion. It's a problem that exists due to a triple name swap between three characters in the Japanese and English versions of SF, the other two being Dictator and Boxer.

Counter

Often used as shorthand for counter hit, especially if you are reading an on-screen message during a fight.
It's also a move that looks to catch an incoming attack, deflect it away, and automatically launch a counter-attack. You'll sometimes hear it called a "catch counter". You might just get one hit that sends the opponent flying, but some counters will let you get a full combo if it works. Lots of games have counters, from Street Fighter to Killer Instinct to Tekken to virtually every sword character in Super Smash Bros. It's kind of like parrying, except you don't return to neutral or get to choose your next attack.
Counter can also be used in the general English sense, as a technique that specifically wins against another technique. For example, you can counter pick your character matchup. Or you might say "that move is a hard counter to my strategy" if it stops everything you're trying to do.

The Street Fighter V-specific term for a super.

Crush Counter

A unique counter hit state specific to Street Fighter V that leads to highly damaging combos. If you counter hit your opponent with certain heavy attacks (each character will have their own list of Crush Counter moves), they will violently spin around as a glass-shattering sound effect plays, and they'll get put in a ton of hit stun. Many characters will be able to dash forward and still continue the combo with something beefy.
You can think of them kind of like a "super" counter hit, but tied to specific moves. SFV also tags dragon punches as counter-hittable during their recovery, which means you can wind up with your crush counter move and earn a huge punish when you block one.

Delayed Wakeup

The ability to slightly extend how long you stay on the ground after you've been knocked down. This is different from soft knockdown vs. hard knockdown, where you either rise immediately or stay on the ground for a set amount of time. In games with delayed wakeup, you can choose to make your hard knockdown ever so slightly longer, in the hopes that your opponent won't be able to easily meaty you or otherwise run their planned set play. Games like Ultra Street Fighter IV and Mortal Kombat 11 implement delayed wakeup.

Demon Flip

One of Akuma's trademark special moves; he jumps up into the air while performing a front flip, and then can choose several different unique attacks on the way down, including a divekick, a low attack, and a throw.

Dictator

A common name for the Street Fighter character M. Bison. We have to call him this because, in Japan, they call him Vega, so this helps us be clear about which character we're talking about. We have this same problem with Boxer and Claw.

Drive Impact

The character will garner armor that can absorb an incoming hit. Players can perform this technique by pressing R1+R2 (or just L1 if you're using simplified controls) and it costs one bar of your Drive Gauge. Source

Drive Parry

Players can simply hold down medium kick and medium punch to activate Drive Parry, which continually depletes the Drive Gauge until the buttons are released. If an incoming attack is successfully parried, the character will repel the foe's attack and some of their Drive Gauge will be replenished. Players can aim to perform a "Perfect" parry by activating this at the precise moment an incoming attack lands, which will net them some kind of additional bonus. Source

Drive Rush

Characters cancel out of animations early with a forward dash, presumably enabling them to perform otherwise impossible combos. This can also be performed from a Drive Parry, in which case its cost is reduced from three Drive Gauge bars to only one. This is done simply by double tapping forward while the animation for either a cancelable normal attack or Drive Parry is going on. Source

Drive Reversal

Similar to Alpha Counters/V-Reversals seen in Street Fighter Alpha and Street Fighter 5, respectively. Pressing forward and R1+R2 while blocking an attack will activate Drive Reversal, which causes your character to perform a counter attack that does little damage but that can give you some breathing room to get off of the defensive. Using this maneuver costs two bars from your gauge. Source

Overdrive

Which is essentially the Street Fighter 6 way of describing an EX move. Every character has a few special attacks unique to them, and players can give said specials additional enhancements (such as more damage, invincibility, further reach, faster speed) by performing the "Overdrive" version. This is performed by pressing two of the same button instead of just one when doing a special attack. For instance, if Ryu throws his trademark Hadoken special (quarter circle forward + a punch) he might enhance it by pressing two punches. Overdrive costs two bars from your Drive Gauge. Source

EX Move

A more powerful version of a special move, enhanced by spending some super meter. These moves have better properties than the base version of the special move, which may include more invincibility, more damage, or faster startup. The character often glows a different color, like yellow, while performing an EX move, just to make it extra clear what's happening.

Flash Kick

An invincible charge move made famous from Guile in Street Fighter. Hold down, or down-back, for about a second and then hit up plus a kick button to fly into the air foot first. It's a very common reversal and anti-air, but because it's a charge move, it needs more planning to use than a dragon punch.

Frame Trap

Two attacks back-to-back that leave a very small gap between them. The gap will be shorter than the defender's fastest attack, which means if they try to attack with a normal, they will get counter hit. Finding effective frame traps requires some basic understanding of frame data (or finding a good Youtube tutorial that has done the work for you!); you'll usually be looking for an attack that is plus on block, which lets you attack before your opponent afterwards, then swinging with a fast attack that "traps" your opponent who foolishly thought they could swing themselves.
 
Frame traps aren't foolproof, though. You can usually just continue to block and be fine until your opponent gets pushed out of range. Or, if you're feeling risky, you can try to get through the opponent's attack with an invincible reversal, which doesn't care about your opponent's pesky frame advantage.

Gap

How long your character has returned to neutral in between blocking (or getting hit by) two attacks. Like all discussions of time in fighting games, it's measured in frames. While you're in neutral, you can take any action, but be careful! If you are only in neutral for a few brief frames, there are some actions you won't want to take, especially if your opponent is looking to do a frame trap.
If your character blocks two attacks and there is no gap at all, we'll call that a true block string or say the offense is tight (it's also quite related to the Tekken concept of jailing). Sometimes players will just ask "is there a gap in that string?" just so they know whether they even have the option to do anything except block. Maybe if there's a gap they'll sometimes try a reversal to escape.

Gimmick

Also known as: Oki-Doke A plan of attack that requires either the element of surprise or a lack of knowledge from your opponent to work. The term is often meant in a negative way towards a strategy that wouldn't possibly work against well-prepared opponents, or something that can only work in the short term until your opponent understands the trick.
 
The term can also refer to a player who uses one linear but mostly effective strategy to beat lower skilled opponents, but who loses convincingly, with no backup strategy, when playing against better players who can defend properly. It may sound like gimmicks are kinda bad, but there's no better feeling in fighting games than to hit someone with a good one.

Gouki

The Japanese name for Akuma. Like with Vega, M. Bison and Balrog, there are some naming differences between some characters in the Japanese and English versions.

Hadouken

The specific name for Ryu and Ken's fireballs in the Street Fighter series, but it can be used to talk about any generic, forward-traveling projectile that is not a charge move.

Hit Confirm

Performing an attack, seeing that your attack successfully hit, and then reacting to this information by continuing the combo. That is to say, you "confirm" that your first attack hit before you launch further attacks, and if the attack was blocked instead, you stop and don't follow through with anything else. This is important because, usually, you will be canceling into a move that would be unsafe if it was blocked, so you only want to do it if it won't get you killed.
In some games this can be a pretty advanced skill, since you might not have a ton of time to recognize if your attack hit or not. In really fast cases, good players may even employ special tricks, like looking at the opponent's health bar or using special audio cues, to help them react as fast as they can.

Knockdown

Being knocked off your feet and landing on your back. Certain attacks commonly cause knockdowns, like sweeps, throws, many special moves, and in some games, simply getting hit out of the air. There are generally two types of knockdowns, hard knockdowns and soft knockdowns, which describe how long you have to lie on the ground before you can get up and fight again, and what options you may have (if any) while standing up.

Mixup

A situation where the offensive player has several ways to attack that each require a different defensive action to stop (such as blocking in different directions and avoiding throws).

Okizeme

Also known as: Oki The moment during a fighting game when your opponent is knocked down and you get to attack them as they stand back up. The defender's options are limited, so the offensive player gets to attack with all sorts of mixups or apply any mind game they choose. Some options include attacking with a basic meaty, doing a cross-up, or trying to bait their opponent's desperate dragon punch by simply doing nothing and blocking.
 
Okizeme (pronounced oh-kee-zeh-meh and often shortened to "oki") means "wake up offense" in Japanese, so the term mostly focuses on the offensive choices. If you hear someone ask "what's the oki going to be?", they are wondering what method of attack (or non-attack) the offensive player will choose to assert their advantage. It's closely related to the term wakeup, although that tends to focus more on the defensive choices (you might hear "I can't believe they did a wakeup DP!").
 
If someone asks "do I get oki after this move?", they're asking whether that move leaves them close enough, and with enough time, to threaten multiple different offensive options. Moves that "don't give you oki" will leave you far away and mostly end your offensive pressure.

Plink

An input trick where you press two different buttons on two consecutive frames. If you use an arcade stick, the best way to do this is to "drum" two different fingers across the two buttons extremely quickly. It will kind of feel a bit like a piano input. It's often notated with a ~, so pressing MP and then LP right after would be MP~LP.

Poke

An attack that's thrown out to occupy the space in front of you and remind your opponent not to try and come closer. Usually, this is a far-reaching and safe normal move with little risk. Pokes are often used to harass your opponent into doing something stupid, not unlike prodding a bear with a stick. If you use a poke to hit your opponent's poke, that's called a "counter poke".

Raging Demon

An iconic super for Akuma (and related "Evil" characters) in many Street Fighter titles. Akuma travels forward and grabs you, the screen goes dark, and after some rapid-fire hits in the darkness, you appear knocked out on the ground. Akuma then poses with his back to the camera.

Reversal

Reversal - An action taken on the first frame after your character recovers, such as after getting knocked down or exiting block stun. Sometimes conflated with "invincible reversal", an attack with invincible properties during startup.
%%%Shimmy Tricking someone into thinking you're going to throw them by walking close, and then, at the last second, walking backwards out of range so they whiff a throw tech attempt like a dummy. You can then pummel them with a huge punish.

Shoryuken

The specific name for Ryu and Ken's dragon punches in the Street Fighter series, but it's used to talk about any generic uppercut-looking move in pretty much any fighting game. Very often shortened to just "shoryu".

Shoto

An archetype in the Street Fighter series for a character that has a fireball, a shoryuken, and a tatsu. Their main gameplan is to play solid footsies with fireballs and pokes, and then uppercut you when you jump at them. Ryu, Ken, and Akuma are the quintessential shotos that appear in virtually every Street Fighter title.

Sonic Boom

A specific type of projectile that travels horizontally and is traditionally input using a charge command. Notably, they have considerably faster recovery than a fireball, but needing to have charge to throw one really limits the situations in which you can use them. Sonic Boom is the specific name of Guile's famous projectile, but it will often refer to any projectile with very little recovery.

Spam

Using one attack over and over again. Calling something "spam" or someone a "spammer" is the hallmark cry of the scrub, who is unwilling to find a strategy to beat any attack that hits them, no matter how telegraphed it is. Fighting game veterans will still use this term, but mostly in jest, or to give praise to a legitimate strategy. If you think someone is bad for using one move repeatedly to beat you, I'd recommend looking inwards and re-evaluating your strategy and game knowledge before lashing out. You might save a bit of embarrassment and you'll probably improve at the game at the same time.

Spinning Piledriver

A classic Zangief command throw in the Street Fighter series, executed with a 360 motion. Zangief grabs you, jumps high in the air while spinning, and then slams you into the ground. Commonly abbreviated to SPD. It also is a catch-all term for any grappler's command throw executed with a 360, across virtually any game.

Stagger

Stagger can also be used in its more common English meaning to describe attacks that are slightly delayed or off-beat from each other. Basically, you leave gaps between your attacks in tricky and unpredictable ways so your opponent thinks they're free to attack, then you smoke them with a devastating counter hit. You might hear something like "he staggered that heavy punch" or "nice stagger pressure" to indicate this.

Tatsu

The name of a shoto special move where the character travels forward with their foot extended, usually spinning like a top while doing so. It is sometimes called "Hurricane Kick" in English, but many in the community call it "tatsu", a shortened version of the Japanese name. Tatsus are often briefly projectile invincible which can help you win fireball wars, and they're often good combo enders too.

Tech

Most commonly is shorthand for a throw tech. It can also refer to the act of quick rising after being knocked down, as in "you should tech when you hit the ground". In Smash Bros. in particular, teching when you hit the ground lets you stand up in place or roll either left or right, which is super important for trying to escape offense.
 
It can also refer to recovering in the air after you've been hit by an air combo. Or, if all these definitions aren't enough, it's also used to talk about cool new strategies developed for a character, like "did you see that new Ryu tech posted to Twitter?" Confused at why so many fighting game terms have ambiguous meanings? You're not alone.

TO

Stands for Tournament Organizer. It's the main person in charge of running your favorite event, which could mean things like booking the venue, deciding which games to run, seeking out sponsors, and everything in between. Most TOs have a team of people working with them to make the event run smoothly, but they are kind of the front-facing entity of the tournament.

V-Reversal

A defensive mechanic in Street Fighter V that lets you attack while blocking. You consume one stock of your "V-Gauge" (which is also shared for use with your V-Trigger), and your character will do an attack which is invincible to all hits but can be thrown. Usually, your character will knock the opponent out of the way, dealing some gray life while you get some breathing space.

V-Shift

A Street Fighter V mechanic that lets you defensively dodge an attack and follow up with a counter-attack. For the cost of 1 V-Gauge bar (a meter also shared with doing V-Reversals and V-Triggers), pressing MK + HP in neutral will perform a V-Shift. You will emit a blue aura and do an invincible backdash, slowing down time if your opponent happened to attack at the same time.

V-Shift Break

An automatic follow-up attack you can perform after you successfully dodge an attack with V-Shift. By pressing MK+HP (again) during the slow-motion dodge animation, your character will lunge forward with a basic punch or kick that keeps your full invincibility from the V-Shift, causes a knockdown and deals some gray life. It's a way for you to get some breathing space if you don't have a good invincible attack to follow up with, like a dragon punch or a super, or you are worried about being out of range of those attacks. It's a slow attack, but fortunately it will be safe if it's blocked.

V-Skill

A character-specific Street Fighter V technique, activated by pressing medium punch and medium kick together. You can basically think of it like an alternate special move that builds your V-Gauge (used for V-Reversals and V-Trigger) if it connects with your opponent.

V-Trigger

A central comeback mechanic in Street Fighter V. Your "V-Gauge" fills up as you take damage or successfully use your V-Skill, and when it's full, you can activate your V-Trigger, which usually powers up your character in a unique way for a good length of time (or, for some fighters, it is just simply a strong one-time use move with no powerup).

Wakeup

The act of rising from the ground after you've been knocked down. Since you are usually invincible when you are on the ground, there's a specific period of time when you become hittable again; this moment in time and the decisions around it from both players comprise the "wakeup game".

I'm very very happy with my PRK and the 'stabbing' has gotten slowly better since the surgery. But it's been almost 12 months and If I rub the eyes vigorously I still often get a stabbing twing in one or the other, but mostly just the left these days. When I look at the moon, the left eye has slight doubling, otherwise unnoticeable now.
Thing is, recovery is supposed to take a few weeks? Did anyone else have this?

Met a girl at a dance class 3 months ago, who became my sort of fixed partner for the rest of the lessons as we enjoyed dancing with each other. She’s temporarily staying in my city for an internship and then moving back to her home across the Atlantic. She’s got less than a month left before she moves back.
I asked her out via text (I know should’ve asked in person) after the classes had finished as I didn’t want to make it awkward for the rest of the classes if she wasn’t interested. She responded by saying that she’d like to hang out as friends and is not looking for any kind of relationship as she’s leaving.
Since then we’ve gotten closer, I like her a lot, and I happen to have a potential dream career opportunity close to where she lives that could happen in about a years time.
How should I go about the situation? Was her leaving reasoning just to reject me nicely or does she genuinely not want to take it forward just because she’s leaving?

Section 1: Is SCJerk finally becoming self-aware?
In previous posts I've detailed how SCJerk has become one of the most toxic spaces on Reddit, with users consistently pumping out conspiracy theories and misinformation, whilst also engaging in bigotry and exhibiting almost-psychotic vendettas towards certain individuals. It finally appears, however, that more users are realising how far down the rabbit hole SCJerk and some of its userbase have gone. Let's start with an SCJerk user attempting to call out other users for making fun of Mercedes Mone's recent injury;
People jerking Mercedes Mone getting hurt is a direct shot at the majority of SCJerk pretending they’re not just as big of marks as SC.
The thread gets so heated that a mod has to lock the thread, but not without leaving this pinned message;
This thread is a shit show, and we're locking the comments before it gets worse. OPs point stands, so the thread is staying up. If you are going to post about an injury, at least find a way to spin it to a jerk, such as the Forbidden Door post.
The user who made the thread then makes this post a few days later explaining the harassment he got from some SCJerk users;
What the fuck happened to this subreddit? Earlier this week, I wrote up a thread about people using Sasha Banks’ injury as justification for openly shitting on her. I got called a mark. I got called a Sasha Twitter stan. I got downvoted relentlessly, even when I reiterated what other people said that were upvoted. It got so out of hand that the mods locked the thread but left it up because they agreed with me. It was this subreddit acting more like squaredcircle than I have ever seen in my, like, ten years on Reddit. This subreddit has gotten so fucking nasty with its jerks that’s it’s not even fun anymore. I don’t watch STARDOM and I don’t even like Sasha, but the shit that got sent to me, the shit I got inboxed to me, and the RedditCares messages I got from it, for having the audacity to say “if you’re using her injuring her ankle as a justification for your own dislike of her or her being bad, you’re a fucking Basement dwelling asshole” is fucking sickening. It wasn’t even a pro-Sasha post. It was saying have a single fucking original idea that doesn’t revolve someone rushing to call her bad at wrestling or whatever the fuck because she got hurt doing a move. And when I pointed out the underlying racial tone to it in regards to Indie Hartwell NOT getting that treatment for the same exact injury, people flipped their shit. I constantly quote that whiny ass post from earlier this year that bitched on and on about the mods taking down good jerk posts or whatever. And to be honest, yeah, the mods here are sometimes a little too heavy handed or inconsistent with their removals, but it’s not all their fault. A big problem with this sub’s sliding content is because of the users here putting zero effort into their posts and rushing in to get karma than having two thoughts about what they’re putting up. Now it’s just a race to put up the “… was a longtime WON subscriber” meme up. And it’s just so fucking lame and cringe.
In the same vein as the previous example, an SCJerk user comments on users having a fixation with hating ex-WWE female wrestlers;

One SCJerk user notes how tribalistic the subreddit has become lately;
There are few things more frustrating when it comes to WWE things than the discourse on this subreddit about Bianca Belair. Every time someone criticizes her, it becomes a race to type out the “durrrr Gunther duhhhhh except black woman” comparison. There’s absolutely no middle ground with the majority of people here and that sort of mindset is becoming way too popular and way too Basement-lite for me. It’s getting ridiculous how tribalistic people on here are getting nowadays. That stupid ass post bitching about the mod team was a big indicator of it.
Another SCJerk user remarks on the low-key racism he's seen on the subreddit;
As a black Kenyan man, this sub has a lot of benevolent racism towards minorities where we’re treated like kids who need protection. Last night Bianca got booed by a full stadium of Puerto Rican fans and that was okay but online when she’s booed it’s because of racism from white people. What kind of hypocrisy is that? Not everything is racist when it involves black wrestlers because it is very patronizing.
Over on Wreddit (which we'll come to later), users talk about the amount of conspiracy theories being pushed on SCJerk;
The amount of stupid conspiratorial thinking that goes on within some Anti-AEW people, esp in SCJerk, is frustrating as hell. AEW will probably sell out Wembley and it'll be a big deal, stop acting like there's some sort of con afoot. I know these guys want AEW to fail but it gets old criticizing them for stuff that isn't even real.
Section 2: The discontent continues
Throughout the month SCJerk users continue to show their discontent at how SCJerk is being modded (i.e. mods are now actually removing edgelord material instead of letting anything and everything stay up). One user complains about a post being removed by the auto-mod, prompting other users to comment;

We should vote on what kind of content should be allowed in here. Every post having to be a parody of a basement post is pretty constricting.
Jannies shouldnt have this much power. No wonder this site is dogshit echochamber. Cowards dont even use their username.

Just a few days before this, another user had complained about one of his posts being removed by the auto-mod;

As an added note, the auto-mod account SCJerk-ModTeam is not only still stuck on -100 comment karma (the lowest a Reddit account can reach) but new comments made by the account are still being heavily downvoted by salty SCJerk users very much unhappy with its continued existence.
Section 3: Does SCJerk actually like wrestling?
Earlier in the month, a thread about a Dax Hardwood tweet is made on SCJerk;

SCJerk users take this opportunity to calmly and rationally give their opinions on the state of the wrestling industry and AEW's place in it;
Not so much wanting wrestling to fail, just wanting your manchild boss to fail and fail harder than just about anyone ever in the history of pro wrestling.
I like how anytime someone criticizes/expresses dislike of AEW the fans/some of the talent/TK take it like theyre shitting on entire industry. I dont want AEW to fail because of some die hard WWE fanboyism, I want it to fail because fuck TK and all his dickriders

I want pro wrestling to succeed. I Iove pro wrestling. However, I want to see Tony Khan fail. I am so excited for the day AEW shuts down. • AEW - Whilst the weekly Dynamite threads are dominated by people who hate-watch the product, activity in the Rampage threads is almost non-existent. When the show is moved to Saturday the mods simply forget to make discussion threads and even in its normal timeslot, almost every post is downvoted to receive zero karma. One week a thread receives just one comment simply saying - 'Review: AEW is for nerds with no personality.'.
  
• Impact Wrestling - last weekly TV discussion thread was back on the 16th of February, garnening just one comment. The previous three weeks of 'discussion' threads received no comments at all. Up until last week there had been no threads for any of their PPV events until Under Siege, which received a lone comment of - 'Why is one half of the Quebeccers challenging for World Title?'
  
• New Japan - A discussion thread for Wrestle Kingdom 17 was only made after the event had already started. It garnered just 13 comments and barely received positive karma (53% upvoted). To date this is the only New Japan event (PPV or weekly TV) to have a discussion thread on Wreddit in 2023.
  
• Stardom - So far the only thread this year about Stardom is a short clip from a press conference with the most upvoted comment being - 'Every time I see something from Stardom I’m reminded why I don’t watch Stardom'.

When it's announced that AEW will be getting two more hours of programming a week with Collision, the response from users is less than welcoming;
Too much fucking wrestling.
There's not much variety here though. AEW, Impact and ROH are just indie spotfest fucking wrestling and WWE is bland boring corporate wrestling. Like yeah it is better that it's not just WWE and Impact but there's not much variety here.
I'm talking on a generalized basis, week to week it's majority indie spotfest wrestling with a mix of bad garbage wrestling thrown in.

Another A&W show that will tank in the ratings. It’s one thing for RAW to compete with a single MNF (and occasionally two), but these idiots really want to compete with college football with a roster centered around over 40 reject has beens and some never weres? I’m curious to see how Shad Khan handles this on his taxes.
Why? Genuine question: is there a need for so much wrestling every week? What's the total weekly amount of hours of new material right now? More than 10 hours are more than daytime soap operas must churn out, and they're notorious for just stretching stories beyond the limit of pointless filler. Wrestling has also reached that point IMO. Can't be a coincidence if ratings have been tanking and nobody really cares outside the inner circle of addicted and obsessed serial watchers.
How odd that a subreddit built around wrestling fans discussing wrestling has such a negative attitude towards a wrestling promotion announcing a new wrestling show. It's almost like these people don't actually like wrestling.

Section 6: Help Wanted
As you can tell, these monthly posts have been getting longer and more detailed as time goes by. If anyone who reads these wants to help out (e.g. sending me posts which I should include) then please feel free to message me or drop some links in the comments section.

I’ve been lashing for 8 years and it’s all finally catching up to me. My sciatic nerve is KILLING me no matter how long I’m sitting down lashing and it’s genuinely starting to effect my everyday activities outside of the salon. My question is: does anyone lash standing up? If so, what bed do you use? Links are helpful if you don’t mind sharing.

I am a Christian guy approaching my upper fifties, and my wife is near her mid-40's. We belong to a church in our area in the U.S. that is theologically Reformed and has presbyterian polity/governmental structure. A year ago, we chose to transfer our membership to another congregation in the same vicinity (the specific reasons will not be explained now and are not known specifically by many of our friends, but we are in good standing).
There have been many instances of me trying reach out electronically to friends especially in the former and other congregations in the interest of interacting with them and fostering an air of more significant and meaningful communication. But unfortunately, many of these folks are slow or neglectful to reply and may not even get back to me until after I have sent a followup message a week or more later. It is disconcerting and saddening when the recipient does not take even just 2-5 minutes as a matter of common consideration to write quickly even if to say that I can look forward to more of a response when circumstances are better. And it is not like I have been excommunicated or otherwise disfellowshipped (even if my membership had been terminated due to the need for discipline, I would find it repulsive and not Christlike to be shunned). My wife in some measure feels the same way about communications seemingly being ignored. This makes for more potential tension along with hesitancy to be in situations where these others might be present.
How many of you likewise feel like there is not as much rendering of reciprocal acknowledgement as would be fitting for a relationship founded on committed faith in common? I do not simply contact a person for my own health/ego affirmation; it is to nurture the relationship bidirectionally. Have some of you needed to lovingly confront a person who resorts to the silent treatment despite a need for two-way exchange? My intentions are honorable and above board and do not involve the slightest risk of scandal or inappropriate situations. Excuses given to justify deliberately ignoring the initial message intended as 2-way will not be helpful (unless the actual other party says that it is because of being out of range temporarily or dealing with some kind of serious and significant matter diverting attention away from me), especially when anyone should be able to offer at least a courtesy response (and if anyone tries to treat us poorly when we have been circumspect, then there is a heart issue that is unbecoming of having saving faith in Christ).
If responding, PLEASE do not offer a trite statement such as that I would not want to interact with these friends anyway because they are not good enough for me or try to accuse or judge me presumptuously or make questionable excuses that might involve inconsistent standards of treatment. No, that kind of ill-founded reflection will not work; I have known many of these folks for a long time and value my friendships with them by and large. This post has a support-based focus and I thus seek practical insight. Also, I ask that no one go on superficial or meaningless tangents but rather stay attentive to the topic at hand.

Her explanation sounded very disturbing, but it was terribly logical in its own, twisted way.
“I hate you for putting that thought into my mind.” I said.
“You said the hives were competing with each other.” Interjected !ar! “What happened to fallen soldiers, people who died of old age or accidents?”
“I am not sure, after your friend’s little fit a few moments ago, that you really want to hear my answer to that question.” Said Ni!ita, as if this entire topic was just a normal part of life, and we were the problematic party in this conversation.
“Lets change the subject Ni!ita, okay? Every new piece of information you’ve told us so far was disturbing on its own, but this, this was by far the worst. I am actually happy you are not here, with us, in flesh.”
“As you wish, little drone.” She said nonchalantly. “Where did you get this ship?”
“That is a long story, and I think it is a very boring…” Suddenly, a monotone voice drowned my train of thought, as orbital control connected with us.

The past day way exhausting. Ni!ita is a very curious creature, she would not stop with her questions. If I didn’t know she was 200 years old, I would think she was a teenager. She wanted to know everything, how the society on Sillis worked now, how the Tilfish government operated, what the Federation was. Everything.
“Now that we are here, what will you do?” Asked Ni!ita.
“We will land, the ship will be unloaded, and we will take on an other transport job, preferably not to Venlil Prime.”
As if they were listening in, orbital control contacted us right at the end of my sentence.
“Sole Trader A1-1, this is Serene Tranquillity flight control. You are cleared for approach. Proceed to waiting orbit LPO 1-5.”
“Flight control, this is Sole Trader A1-1, instructions acknowledged, approaching LPO 1-5”.
“Huh, it seems this is not a busy colony, they only have a single level of flight control” Mused !ar!. “I don’t think we will be stuck in a traffic jelly.” As if it was on cue, flight control continued.
“Your landing port is Sheercliff. Descend to altitude 5000, heading planetary west, after 2000 units turn planetary north, approach starport from the planetary south. Loading scaffold 2 is yours.”
“Thank you flight control.” I replied.
“Welcome to Serene Tranquillity.” Said the person on the other end of the line, then immediately disconnected.
The planet was your average colony world. Meadows dotted the landscape, which was dominated by agricultural fields. Huge, endless fields of stingfruit trees, firefruit trees, Ipsom grain swayed in the gentle breeze. In the distance, the silhouette of our destination was starting to come into view, the city of Sheercliff. We followed the maglev line heading there, which passed through the occasional silos and warehouses where maglev trains could be seen being loaded with freshly harvested produce. As we neared the settlement, a huge mountain started dominating the viewport which sat right behind the city. Its snowy cap reached for the skies, and its ridges stretched In all directions, where they gently dipped below the horizon. The slopes of the mountain were a stark contrast to the natural beauty of the fields below us. It was dotted with mines, ore refineries, smelters and a myriad other industries related to the processing of ores. Enormous open-pit surface mines stretched endlessly, where shallow metals were extracted, while far-off into the distance a large body of water could be seen, its shores brimming with lithium-extraction pools. Monstrous excavators tore up starship-sized chunks of stone and dirt, while the fruits of their labour were dumped onto conveyor lines, heading straight to the ore processors.
“Quite a contrast.” Said !ar!. “Endless fields of food next to industrial wastelands.”
“Indeed. Though I have high hopes these produce for export, so we will have a full load to transport.”
!ar! gently landed the ship on the loading scaffold, and I brought out my datapad to look for work.
“You said you wanted me to work.” Ni!ita interjected. “How can I help?”
“Well, we need to figure out a way to connect you to a datapad. Does your casing have any connections apart from the one we connected you with earlier?”
“No, it doesn’t.”
“Then we have to order a custom connector to be made.”
“There is supposed to be a spare connector in the compartment above CNCQ slot, take that with you, it should make your job that much easier.”
“There is a parts compartment in there?” I was floored. How did she know? How can an ancient queen know more of our ships than we do? “How do you know?” I asked from her.
“That was the standard setup on tilfish spaceships. Spares were stored where they were supposed to be needed”. Added Ni!ita, as if it was the most trivial thing since the dawn of time.
I started walking towards the CNCQ room. It is impossible we’ve missed an entire storage closet in there. While there, I’ve decided to investigate a bit further. “Well, on federation starships, spares are stored in a dedicated spare parts storage. So that people only have to look at single place if something is needed.”
“That is also a viable approach, though when there is a problem, time spent fetching the needed part can be the difference between life and death.” Ni!ita shot back.
“So, you are telling me that our ship is full of hidden compartments with spare parts inside? Spares that we had difficulty finding on the market?” I replied with disbelief. The solution to our problems can not be this easy. “Now, tell me, where should I be looking for the compartment?” I asked, just as I’ve arrived at the room.
“It Is supposed to be right above the CNCQ slot. It should be labelled “CNCQ spare parts storage”
“Well, there is no text here. Anywhere in the room, for that matter.”
“Describe to me what you are seeing, right above the slot”. Ni!ita asked me.
“It’s the same as all over this ship. I can see the edges between the panels on the wall forming squares, and weird meandering lines zigzagging all over the walls and the ceiling, going across panels. Also, there are these small spots, they look like stains of goo, on some panels. Some panel has more spots, some only 1.”
“Exactly, you are looking for the one which reads “CNCQ spare parts storage””. Said Ni!ita.
“Neither one has any text on it, why don’t you understand me?”
“You just said you can see the texts on them.”
“What, the meandering lines and the spots? Are you playing with me? I can not see any written language on the walls, my visual translator would translate every known written language for me.”
“Are you telling me you can’t reads tilfish?” Ni!ita asked with surprise in her voice. “How is that possible?”
“You are not joking with me, are you? These are ancient Tilfish texts all over the surfaces of the ship?”
“Yes, what you called spots are our written language. Push the one that looks like a…” Ni!ita trailed off. I bet she doesn’t know how to explain which I should be pushing. They all look so similar. Like solar systems with circles at various positions, or maybe webs with knots. I wonder how it works, it does not look very intuitive. “Look at the rightmost panel that is just above the CNCQ slot “Ni!ita continued”, the compartment you need to find has 7 symbols. Push the central motif on the middle symbol.”
I followed her directions, and lo and behold, a cover popped open, revealing a small dark compartment, with various parts inside. Well, this was unexpected. I instructed my translator to mark the middle symbol, as well as the string of 7 symbols as an equivalent of ‘spare parts’. I know they must have more elaborate meanings, but for now, this shall be enough. I was curious how many panels hid parts for the ship.
“Now this out of the way, we just need to find an electronics store. !ar!, do you want to tour the city?” I asked from my co-pilot.
“Sure, why not. Though I don’t think this place will look any different from other Venlil cities. If you have seen one, you have seen them all.”

Finding an electronics store proved to be difficult, but finding one which could build custom electronics turned out to be borderline impossible. Navigating the circular city was disorienting, most buildings looked similar enough that one could not tell them apart at first glance. Everything was covered in fine dust, no doubt the result of the heavy mining around the city. We must have walked around the city twice before we’ve managed to find the store we were looking for. Upon entering we were approached by the most average-looking venlil I have ever seen. Her wool was neither short, nor long, it wasn’t white but it wasn’t grey either. Her face was entirely emotionless and featureless.
“Welcome to Electronics Abound. We hope you will find whatever you are looking for. My name is Telbo, how may I help you?” She asked from us. I swear this poor venlil was dead inside. She stared at us with an empty eye, looking eerily similar to that venlil from that infamous The Exterminators episode about the mind-controlling predator.
“Hello, we would like to have a custom adapter to be made. We have a pre-made connector, and would like to adapt it to a datapad-standard Universal Parallel Train socket.” While I am saying this, I hand her the ancient tilfish gadget. She takes the connector into her paws, turns it over, looks at it from all angles, even shakes it a little, then holds it towards me.
“Sorry, we don’t deal with arxur tech, it is illegal to even touch it.”
“This is not arxur tech”, !ar! replies.
“We don’t deal with human tech either. Or yotul.” She replied with a so very monotone an indifferent voice, that I would swear she was devoid of all emotions inside. “Anyway, thank you for your visit, have a nice day.” She pushes the connector into my hands, then turns around and leaves. As I am putting the part away, I notice a small piece of crumpled paper pushed into the socket. !ar! plucks it out, unfolds it, and reads in a quiet voice. -Meet me in the back-.
We look at each other in disbelief. This is unexpected, what could be so strange about this connector that she could not speak about it in the store. I walked out the store with !ar!, and headed around the corner to the loading area. There she was, waiting for us, nervously pacing around.
“Finally! What took you so long? No, don’t answer. Anyway, you shouldn’t be showing off with that ancient piece of CNCQ connector, if words gets out someone has such a tech, the Protector save them from the exterminators.” She said while handing me an other piece of paper. “Go to this address, ask the exterminator-cut venlil for gold-pressed latinum. She will help you.” And just like that, the venlil turned around, and walked back into the store.
The address on the paper isnt far, but the way we were given this information did raise suspicion in us, questioning wether we should go there or not. But curiosity also motivated us to visit this location, curiosity about the secrecy around our spare par

The walk to the address given to us wouldn’t have been long, if we wouldn’t have been lost in the circular city, again. By the time we’ve arrived, the sun was setting, and the city was getting quieter. The place we’ve been sent to was a junk store, selling and buying anything and everything one can imagine. Do you need a strayu-mixer-spoon-cleaning-sponge-holder? You can choose from 5 different colours. But if you need a strayu-mixer, that you wont find here.
We walked up to the counter, behind which sat an elderly venlil woman, with short-shaved fur. There was a scar across her muzzle, but otherwise she looked a good deal younger than she probably was. Only her eyes gave away how much she has been through.
“Greetings, esteemed tilfish customers. I am Kelra, and this is my humble store, Junkyard. How may I help you?” She said with an enthusiasm in her voice that could mean nothing else than this was her dream job.
“Greetings Kelra, this is my co-pilot !ar!, and I am Cli!. We are looking for…”I hesitated for a second”…gold-pressed latinum.”
Kelra jumped down from her chair, and started walking towards the door. “Oh my, I did not expect such important visitors for today, let me close the store before I attend to your needs. Please, have a seat in the office right behind the counter, I will be with you in just a moment.” She replied in cheery, sugary tone. We walked into the office, and sat down in the chairs there. We could hear her rummaging in the store, looking for something.
“So, what are you fine gentlemen looking for?” We heard her voice behind us, as it increased in volume as she walked towards the office. “But before you dive into your stories, please keep the following in mind.” We both looked at her behind us, and immediately regretted landing on the planet. She was standing behind us, flamethrower in hand, pilot light burning, aimed directly at us. “If at any point you try to trick me, I will burn you to ashes.”

I will try to keep it short but I'm not used to making posts here and English is not my first language, so I apologize for anything written weirdly. I'm sorry for how long it is, but I really need others' opinions.
My girlfriend is K, our common friend is T, and his girlfriend is H.
Almost a month ago, K and T went back to his place where their group was going to discuss the model and work on it for the presentation next day. We are in the same university so I know T and H and wee have been over to his place several times. We are rather the only couple T and H like to hang out with and so despite me being socially awkward, we became pretty good friends.
A few weeks ago, K was acting weird, like a little spaced out and lost in thought. Now she has suffered from PTSD because of several events, one of which happened a year ago, right before we met and started dating, so I try to make sure to ask her how she is feeling and be there for her, so it worried me. She had been doing much better but the flashes can come back at any time in some cases, hers used to be one of them too. So when I asked her about it, she told me that something had happened with her that is making her rethink a lot of things in her life. I just gave her the space she asked for until yesterday, when she told me what happened in the order of events.
When K and T were going to his place, there were many chart papers and stuff so the taxi's seat was full. They had to sit pretty close and she was dozing off but when she did, her head fell on his shoulder and he held her hand. When she was at T's place, she was pretty tired so she decided to rest before starting the project since they would have to stay up till late at night to finish it anyway. She went to one of the two bedrooms and laid down on the double bed and he came there and laid down beside her too. She was dozing off and he laid down beside her, close enough to fit on a single bed(her words), and she asked him "Why are you acting like this? What about H?" and he said "Oh yeah? Then what about your boyfriend?" She was pretty tired but she got up in a bit and left. Then they had pizza that they fed each other. They discussed the project with their group on a video call and then started working on it, during which he told her that he had a crush on her when our course started, and I already know that she did too, so she said the same. She then mentioned that she moved on pretty quick and then I came along. He mentioned that it was the same with him and H, but he feels closer to K than H and that he wishes that he was with K instead. She said that she feels closer to T than she does to me too, though she claims that she meant only as friends.
Now here are a few inconsistencies. At first, she said that on the bed, he tried to lean in and she said "What are you doing?" so he apologized and backed off, and when later that day, I asked her to tell me everything in proper details, she explained the aforementioned scenario.
The next few days, she asked him if he's ever going to tell H what happened and T denied and then said that he needs to put everything in the right way before doing so. Then yesterday, K told me about it. Apparently, what was on her mind all this time was that conversation. At first, she was thinking of "what if?" for a day or so, and then the rest of the time until yesterday, she was wondering why that thought ever crossed her mind. She felt guilty and wanted to wait for the exams to be over (which started right after the semester) so it doesn't affect my scores, but couldn't hold it back anymore and told me yesterday.
For fair reasons, I believe that she has not lied to me. We have had a very healthy year of dating. It is the most healthy relationship I have ever been in and all, but I am split. I deserve someone who instantly chooses me over some old crush, especially after everything we have been through. I have helped her through her PTSD, have fought her extremely toxic family for her, was there for her when she was suicidal, went out of my way almost everytime I could in general to make her feel secure, helped her develop a better self-image, and she has told me that this is the deepest and the best relationship she has ever had. But if a guy she had a crush on a year ago for a short while can make her question our relationship, should I really give her a second chance? One side of me says no, but the other believes that she would not do this again- one that I actually believe in. The only problem is that my judgement is pretty much clouded at this point.

Hi everyone.
My husband and I are selling our home, where we have a septic system. We got a buyer, and the buyer is responsible for the septic inspection. He chose English, who my husband and I have had a problem with their customer service in the past, so we don't typically use them.
Of course, English marked our septic as "Unsatisfactory" and they had to send the report to the Glouccester County Dept of Health. English (and I don't think any other septic company) can give us a quote on the repairs needing to be done until the Dept of Health sends back what they say needs to be fixed. We know for certain we need to replace the d-box and replace the covelid of the septic. There is another part of the report that is mentioned about the absorption area being 18 inches deeper than normal, but it's not flagging us as needing to be fixed? I don't know.
My question is, does anyone know how long it takes the Gloucester Dept of Health to come back with their recommendations of what needs to be fixed with a septic? They were sent the report on Friday afternoon.
TIA, we are just getting super anxious and we are thinking the original closing date of June 12th is going to be rescheduled, which sucks. Everything else has passed for the CO, so this is the only thing that needs to be completed.

Firstly I must say I have never cheated on this woman and I’m a straightforward person (so that’s what she must mean by the disrespect) supposedly. Next this was an apology turned into a rant then transition into a gas lighting situation I’m so confused. We’ve been going through so much for the past few weeks and we decided to end things and I do miss her but then I remembered why breaking up isn’t such a bad thing now.

Hello! Just a little backstory of my mental health issues, I knew something was unusual in me since the pandemic started but I am denying it since I am from a Filipino family who shrugs off mental health issues. But my friends suggested online therapy since it's cheaper, plus it gives the proper support I needed. Since 2020, I regularly avail counseling services from a well-known clinic. Year 2023 came and my life fell apart; I was a victim of cyberbullying and threat, I made a hard decision on school, my friends became distant and cold, and I am not performing well in my academic performance. Those circumstances led me to harming myself (cutting) and multiple attempts to end my life because I just don't see my purpose anymore. When my cousins discovered my situation, they suggested to get a scheduled consultation at UP-PGH since it's free and my dorm is nearby.

After so many months of waiting (4 months lang naman), I finally have a schedule at UP-PGH this June 5! I already read some of the posts here but I think I didn't got enough information on what to expect on the day of my check-up. Here are some questions I would like to raise:

• How long does it take to queue on the Psychiatry Department?
• How do you get the blue card?
• Do I need to pay something when I get there?
• Do I get to have diagnosis right after the check-up?

I saw a post with a similar issue not so long ago and that stopped me from inserting this and called Dexcom to see if this was right or wrong. They confirmed it should be in the needle as one would think. You would think they would have a visual inspection camera that could easily detect when the probe doesn't get properly installed on the production line. This is a major hassle for customers to have to call and get replacement and then have data gaps if they don't have another one on hand. In my case, this was my last one and I'm out of town till Sunday, but that was plenty of time to fill my script. Now I'll have a 4 to 5 day gap. A lest I don't need a pump or take insulin, but this could easily happen to someone who does. How this gets past basic quality control is beyond me.
