Well water
2023.06.10 00:02 itsyourboi12345 Well water
Hello, I have well water in Western PA. We have the typical high level of iron in it. I think what I have setup does a decent job getting majority the iron out, but the water smells. Especially coming out of my hot water tank. My water goes through 5 whole house filters then into my water softener. It goes through a 3x10 50 micron filter, to a 1x10 30 micron, to a 1x10 10 micron, to a 1x10 5 micron, lastly to a 1x10 5 micron carbon filter. Everything is only 2-3 years old even the hot water tank. Do you think adding a UV light after the water softer will help with the smell? Usually, every month I drain the hot water tank, and when I bleed the air out in my faucet black water comes out of it.

2023.06.10 00:02 Commercial_Sentence2 D4's story is the best in the series.
D4's story has been garnering arguments from people from either side of the fence.
My take so far is it's the best in the series. So I want to talk about why it is and then compare it to the other games.
- It's an epic tale where you follow closely behind Lilith, similar to D2, but you feel her presence wherever you go. The story is told through visual and auditory mediums, not just through direct exposition. the immersion of being in a bloodied chapel in a dark room with Lilith's haunting voice literally gave me chills.
- The character development is strong.
- We hear about inarius being a prideful arsehole at the very start of the game. Guess what he is, inarius didn't need to be a great boss because he's the lore. He created his own religion, and used it to try to get back to heaven, humanity means nothing to him. We get a better version of deckard, Donan, Neyrelle and even Elias grew on me towards the end. Elias, who brought Lilith forward, did so because he knew something worse was coming, and sacrificed everything to fight it, even his story is complex and intriguing. Heads and shoulders better than maghda .
- The world is finally rich and involved! I can't state how much I wanted this is Diablo. Moving through the snow capped peaks, into scosglen and being exposed to the druids and how corruption has spread is just so rich! Doing small quests and talking to people, or taking back tur Dulur and returning the spirits is incredible. Although there is definitely not enough farms to maintain food supply, it was still amazing.
The other games.
D1 - really, not to much story in the actual game. Diablo awakens due to mephisto sending lazereth and corrupts everything. The Hero shunts a soul stone into his head at the end.
D2 - same game of following the bad guy. Get to the end of the main game you kill Diablo but you never finish the job until the expansion, which came out a year later. Not sure people remember what that was like. 4 acts just felt like something huge was missing, and only having three quests was a let down.
D3 - Battle of arrest was actually pretty good, the rest was complete garbage. The skeleton king, the nonsense with zultan kule, even the high heavens was a trash act. The only difference is it did feel complete. I never felt an expansion was warranted or needed for that game.
All in all I think the D4 story hits hard, and I think those who didn't enjoy might not have experienced it properly the first time. Isolating yourself in a room, tuning in to the atmospherics and really surrending yourself to it the same way you did with D2. Before rushing or speedrunning was so prominent.
That's my piece anyway.

2023.06.10 00:02 beholder95 Cover Pools Automatic Cover won't fully open into Cover Box
I have a 3 year old Cover Pools Auto Cover on my 20 x 38 pool. Ever year i have to adjust the brakes a bit to get the cover straight, that's fine. I got it straight now but its not fully opening into the cover box. It stays about 6" out which is just in line with my coping but it used to open into the cover box so it was more hidden. Is there any way to fix this?
When it wasn't adjusted right and was opening a little uneven one side was going back all the way into the box (and one was hanging out a bit) so now that it's straight it's not going in and I can't for the life of me figure out why.
Any Thoughts?

2023.06.10 00:01 DrPlus123 im 19 and super skinny - can i still get big? I also need dieting help
I'm a 19 year old guy and have been completely skinny my whole life. I'm exactly 6ft and around 66-67kg (around 145lbs) which isn't too great for my height and age. I have gained some muscle since starting gym last year but I'm still skinny and not seeing much progress but this is mostly because I'm only getting 6 hrs of sleep a night maximum and I'm not sure how to properly diet.
I want to get up to 75kg (165lbs) ideally by the end of the year although I'd be happy to hit 70. Unfortunately I have a pretty severe case of pectus excavatum so I know my body will likely never look too great which is something I've pretty much come to terms with but the only thing is that it makes my rib cage visible which is really embarrassing. I know I need to gain weight to fix this but it's so hard for me.
To hit 75 I ideally would need 3k/3.5k calories a day but I find it super hard to even hit 2000 consistently. I tried researching but it all seems so complicated. I also tried dirty bulking but it just made me feel like crap eating junk all day and the nutrition was horrible. Does anyone have any diet plans or tips to help me with?
Also is it possible for someone extremely skinny like me with severe pectus to get somewhat big even if they had bad genes? I'm not sure if I have bad genes but just wanna throw that in there since I've already got the curse of being underweight and having severe pectus lmao
Sorry if these are silly questions, I just really want to change. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

2023.06.10 00:00 Independent_Cattle10 Turkey's so-called anti-Erdogan opposition is the most ridiculously incompetent and arrogant collection of politicians I have ever seen - some thoughts I have shared with some political science friends regarding the recent election results in Turkey
As a Mongolian born in China, the pattern of the Turkish opposition reminds me of the so-called Tiananmen Square leaders. After the massacre in Tiananmen Square in 1989, these people were seen by the Western world as the most hopeful opposition in China. Over the past thirty years, these people have received substantial funding from the West, but they have used this funding to satisfy their own luxurious lifestyles. They hold annual candlelight memorial events, attend inaugurations of various monuments and memorial halls to gain attention, sympathy, and more funding, and then that's it. They have not taken any substantial actions against the rule of the Chinese Communist Party; they simply repeat their own tragic experiences to gain attention and more support. They would rather spend money on continuing to build meaningless monuments than use it to lobby American politicians and economists.
Why do I think the Turkish opposition is similar to these wastes? In fact, if you just observe the various leaders of the Turkish opposition, you will see how small the world is, with one group of wastes resembling another in astonishing ways.
First, the leader of the Turkish opposition, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, is a terrible leader. What's even worse is that he is considered the most suitable candidate the opposition can come up with. He is a fascist politician in any country's political spectrum, yet he appears very moderate within the entire opposition group. Moreover, he exercises various forms of centralization within the party. In fact, he is a poor replica of Erdoğan within the CHP. Despite leading his team to lose almost all significant elections for twelve consecutive years, he has not been dismissed or assassinated, which makes one wonder if the entire CHP is composed of social scum with less ability than Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, to the extent that no one wants to hire an unemployed dockworker from Istanbul with lira that is practically indistinguishable from waste paper to replace him.
Fortunately, the average intelligence of the Turkish people is not so bad, but unfortunately, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's support rate among intellectually normal voters in Turkey is pitiful, and he has no chance of winning against Erdoğan in a one-on-one election. So, he formed an opposition alliance that includes well-known fascist figure Meral Akşener, a Gray Wolf who massacred thousands of Kurds and suffers from severe hyperthyroidism, Ekrem İmamoğlu, an overeducated intellectual, and Mansur Yavaş, a former member of the terrorist organization MHP who constantly aims to take over Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu himself. He may need to appoint 6 to 8 vice presidents after winning the election.
The opposition alliance was formed, although almost everyone in it has a record of killing and abusing civilians, and they are basically racists and fascists. Yet, they are praised by the Western media as the embodiment of freedom and democracy. By the way, most of the student leaders in the Tiananmen Square in China, who were hailed by the West as democratic fighters, have a father who is a general in the People's Liberation Army or a high-ranking official in the Chinese Communist Party.
However, even so, their approval ratings were still insufficient to secure an electoral victory. As a result, they reached out to the main Kurdish party, the CHP. But as mentioned earlier, almost everyone in this so-called opposition alliance is a racist and fascist. You can guess what happened. Without the Kurdish votes, they were bound to lose. However, from the first day of the elections, this group of misfits began mentally abusing Kurdish voters, commanding them to vote for them or else Kurdish rights would be further restricted under Erdogan's re-election. They refused to adopt any policies that would benefit the Kurdish people after the elections, refused to release Kurdish politicians imprisoned, refused to stop oppressing the Kurds, and even forced Kurdish politicians to admit that the Kurdish people in prison were all deservedly labeled as terrorists.
The political agenda of the opposition alliance has nothing to do with freedom, democracy, or human rights. Anyone with a shred of common sense can see that their ultimate goal is to replace Erdogan's extreme nationalist and racist government with another extreme nationalist and racist government that is pro-Western. The only difference between them and Erdogan is that one is pro-West and the other is anti-West.
Similarly, China's so-called opposition leaders also harbor hostility towards ethnic minorities in East Turkestan and Tibet. They have long refused to engage with Tibetan and Uighur organizations, and some even call for the violent occupation of Taiwan and deny the existence of concentration camps in East Turkestan, labeling the Dalai Lama as a terrorist.
Naturally, Western countries activated their propaganda machinery. Even Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's Twitter videos, which are as boring as my grandmother's bedtime stories, managed to garner millions of views. Keep in mind that Turkey has a population of only 85 million. Pre-election polls funded by the West consistently showed that the opposition would win by a significant margin. But these opposition leaders, after seeing such obvious false propaganda, managed to deceive themselves. It is truly shocking that these carefully planned intentions to undermine Erdogan and his supporters had no effect on their target audience. Erdogan's supporters continued to rally enthusiastically, while the opposition fell for the deception themselves.
Since March, there has been an abnormal optimism within the opposition. All my Turkish friends believed that the opposition would surely win, and as a result, the opposition alliance fell into severe internal strife. Meral Akşener, along with Mansur Yavaş, attempted to overthrow Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, and other candidates resorted to violence to secure positions in the new government. Kurdish leaders were told that they would have no place in the new government while being labeled as terrorists, yet they were still asked to vote for the opposition.
This reminds me of the period before the 1964 massacre, when those heroes in the squares believed they could seize power and started appointing provincial governors and ministers. By the way, during this time, these people remained highly vigilant against the demands of Tibetan and Uighur people, who were informed that they would have no place in the new government but were still asked to support the opposition's cause.
This dark humor frenzy continued until May 14, and we all know the result—the opposition lost in the first round of elections. The opposition was shocked by the outcome and spent a whole week without taking any substantive action. Then, these useless individuals decided to abandon the Kurds and embarked on a campaign of extreme nationalism and racism to appease nationalist voters. The result? They suffered an even more disastrous defeat in the second round of elections.
Then what happened was that the opposition accused election fraud, but eventually accepted the results without any demonstrations or street movements. The opposition alliance, which had been aggressive before the elections, disappeared like a deflated balloon. After losing the support of the Western media machinery, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's video views returned to normal.
So, what are these opposition parties doing now? They are busy blaming each other, seeing it as the fault of the West, the Kurds, the Azerbaijani dictator Aliyev, the Kurds again, and the Armenians. Basically, it's anyone's fault except their own.
By the way, the opposition in China has been doing the same thing for decades, portraying themselves as perfect victims and blaming the whole world.
I understand that the political ecosystems in China, Turkey, Armenia, and Mongolia have many differences, but there are also commonalities in political logic.
China's opposition has been fragmented for over thirty years, while Tibetan and Uighur people have established their own unified authoritative institutions and held several democratic elections. Yet, the Chinese opposition still attacks each other like a group of mafia gangs.
The situation of the Turkish opposition today is similar. Each opposition leader within their own parties acts like a mini-Erdoğan, while the PKK-YPG organization, which has always been seen by the mainstream Turkish public as terrorists, becomes increasingly disciplined and organized.
It seems to me that both the Turkish and Chinese opposition, just like the ruling class in their respective countries, are actually part of the imperial ambitions. They don't oppose Erdoğan and Xi Jinping's imperial ambitions; they only believe that they can achieve those ambitions better if the state machinery is in their hands. Therefore, their opposition to Erdoğan and Xi Jinping is not against these toxic ambitions but rather a desire to replace them.
Thus, they participate in politics with a ruler's mindset, believing themselves to be the chosen ones. They are more inclined towards winner-takes-all, while Tibetan, Kurdish, and Uighur people, who are relatively disadvantaged ethnic groups, tend to cooperate and compromise, which makes them perform better in political operations.
What's even worse is that, like the Chinese opposition, most supporters of the Turkish opposition are urban students and middle-class individuals from coastal areas. Moreover, these regions historically lack a culture of martial arts, have alarmingly low military enrollment rates, and lack any armed forces, either foreign or domestic, similar to India's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), to protect themselves. This leads to the situation where this group can only attack Erdoğan in the realm of public opinion.
I know that public opinion can play a significant role in many cases, but to be honest, throughout history, public opinion has been like pepper on a steak, adding flavor but having no practical effect. Hitler was defeated by the Allied forces, not by newspaper articles exposing the atrocities in concentration camps. Saddam was captured by the US military, not by online criticism.
If the opposition considers the elections unfair, they should find ways to use force or initiate street uprisings to overthrow the unjust results, just like the Ukrainians did in 2014. Instead, they engage in ineffective and superficial actions through public opinion.
Unfortunately, this is the current behavior of the Turkish opposition. They simultaneously shout that the PKK is a terrorist organization, that the Republic of Turkey doesn't need a second official language, that Greece oppresses the Muslim minority in Western Thrace, that the Greek president is weak in the face of Erdoğan, that they support Azerbaijan's invasion of Armenia, that the Armenian president attended Erdoğan's inauguration ceremony, that they cheer for the ethnic cleansing of Kurds in Afrin, and that they blame Syrian Kurds for not liking them. These people want others to fight and sacrifice for them against Erdoğan so that they can enjoy privileges on the land stolen from the great massacre in the Republic of Turkey, while they hide behind and reap the benefits.
Now, I actually wish that Erdoğan would drive tanks into Istanbul and give these opposition parties a heroic death so that everyone would forget these pathetic clowns. At least, many years later, their children would shed tears in front of their tombstones instead of laughing at the ridiculous words and actions of their parents before their death.
I can already foresee the ultimate outcome of these so-called opposition groups. The West has wasted thirty years of time and money on the Chinese opposition, and now they have wasted five precious years on the Turkish opposition. I hope that those who harbor illusions about the Turkish opposition, especially the Armenians, understand that these people are nothing but a laughable bunch of waste. It would be better to channel their energy and resources into engaging with Greece, Cyprus, France, and the United States. Even negotiating with Erdoğan in exchange for time and money to rearm would be more productive than hoping for any internal change within Turkey through the so-called opposition.
I apologize for my limited English proficiency. These are some thoughts I have shared with some political science friends regarding the recent election results in Turkey. If there are any inaccuracies, I welcome corrections.

2023.06.10 00:00 ChronoisCross1999 Ideas for New Evolutions for Old Pokemon for Gen 10 Australia Based Region Part 1: Kanto Pokemon
So I've had some ideas for evolutions that could be given to old Pokemon from Gens 1-7 for an Australian based region ever since shortly after Gen 8 released, but never really posted them online because I wasn't sure what the rules for posting fanmade Pokemon ideas with their abilities, stats and inspirations were, but with the moderate success of my posts for my ideas for starters and story path ideas on this sub, I've decided to go ahead and post my ideas for 29 new additions to previous Pokemon lines that aren't regional or paradox forms, but are actual additions to the evolution line like Annihilape, Farigiraf, etc. from Gen 9.
What I'll be doing in this series of posts is gradually going through the first seven generations of Pokemon and choosing which Pokemon would be best suited to gain an evolution based on the wildlife and ecological conditions in Australia, as well as a few that I just think deserve to be buffed due to them being kind of underwhelming despite having a lot of potential.
I'll be listing what their classification in the Pokedex would be, how they factor into the previous evolution line, their abilities, their fully evolved stats (as well as how much that stat increased or decreased from its previous stage in parentheses beside it), and any other relevant notes explaining the evolution and what new role they could factor into. Also keep in mind that the Base Stat Total for these Pokemon will for the most part stay between the 500-530 range because of the Astral Ascension mechanic of the region allowing the temporary use of a Pokemon's second ability in battle, but there will be exceptions if the evolution is a gender counterpart evolution of an existing Pokemon or if I feel their stats should be slightly highelower than that range depending on what would fit their existing design.
Before getting into the evolution descriptions, if you haven't seen my other posts on an Australian based region detailing my ideas for starters and the possible story paths that could be included, they can be found by following the links below. Without further ado, let's get into the new evolutions!

Ampereow (Fearow Evolution) Classification: Thunder Bird Pokemon
Evolution Line: Spearow (Normal/Flying)- Fearow (Normal/Flying) (Evolve at Level 20)- Ampereow (Electric/Flying) (Evolve Fearow with Electric Astral Type at Lightning Ridge)
Abilities: Volt Absorb/Sniper
Fully-Evolved Stats: HP: 85 (+20)
Attack: 110 (+20)
Defense: 75 (+10)
Sp. Attack: 50 (-11)
Sp. Defense: 75 (+14)
Speed: 120 (+20)
Fully-Evolved Base Stat Total: 515 Other Notes: This might be the most out of left field evolution out of all the 29 Pokemon that I've chosen to give evolutions, but it goes to show how much of an impact the Dream World in the Auborn region can have on non-native Pokemon. It is thought that Ampereow first came into existence when a flock of Fearow flew south from Kanto for the winter, eventually landing in the Lightning Ridge mountain region (based on Thunder Ridge, an actual mountain in Australia). Upon landing there, they realized that they couldn't resist the strong lightning energy present in the area, but some of the Fearow felt an innate connection with the electricity present, and when they came into contact with some dream energy, they felt a strong desire to gain the electric type so they could be more like the legendary Pokemon Zapdos back home, which caused them to evolve into Ampereow. This population would remain in the Auborn region, while the other Fearow who didn't have the Electric Astral type went back to Kanto for the summer.
Getting to the battle side of things, I felt like Fearow deserved to get more attack and speed to become a more effective sweeper to help it gain some relevance again after Pidgeot got its own mega evolution back in Gen 6, while Fearow got nothing, and it has since been outclassed by some of the other regional birds as well, which made me think it deserved to get a third stage in its line. Upon Evolution, Ampereow will learn the signature move Thunder Flap, which is a physical Electric type move with 80 base power that deals either electric or flying type damage depending on what is most effective on the opponent. This move will not ignore the Ground-type immunity of electric type moves, however.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Nogard (Arbok Evolution) Classification: Dragon Serpent Pokemon
Evolution Line: Ekans (Poison)- Arbok (Poison) (Evolve at Level 22)- Nogard (Poison/Dragon) (Level Up + Hold Dragon Scale)
Abilities: Intimidate/Shed Skin/Unnerve
Fully-Evolved Stats: HP: 80 (+20)
Attack: 115 (+20)
Defense: 85 (+16)
Sp. Attack: 50 (-15)
Sp. Defense: 85 (+6)
Speed: 100 (+20)
Fully-Evolved Base Stat Total: 515 Other Notes: This is the only idea that isn't my own, since I've seen the concept of having a Dragon/Poison type evolution for Arbok before called Nogard, which is dragon spelled backwards, but it just worked too well for an Australian based region like Auborn, so I decided to include it anyway. The stat spread and decision to keep all the abilities the same were all my own, though. With Nogard, I felt like Arbok really only needed a slight buff to its stats across the board to become more viable, along with it gaining the dragon secondary type for added offensive capabilities, which has only been used before for Dragalge and Naganedel.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paraspect (Parasect Evolution) Classification: Mush Reaper Pokemon
Evolution Line: Paras (Bug/Grass)- Parasect (Bug/Grass) (Evolve at Level 24)- Paraspect (Bug/Ghost) (Learn Spore Scythe + Level Up)
Abilities: Effect Spore/Dry Skin/Cursed Body
Fully-Evolved Stats: HP: 80 (+20)
Attack: 115 (+20)
Defense: 90 (+10)
Sp. Attack: 80 (+20)
Sp. Defense: 90 (+10)
Speed: 60 (+30)
Fully-Evolved Base Stat Total: 515 Other Notes: Parasect might be one of the worst Pokemon that were introduced in Generation 1. It had three 4x weaknesses to Fire, Flying, and Poison (Bug was weak to Poison in Gen 1) and although one of its quad weaknesses was reduced to a double weakness, it really hasn't gotten that much better, especially when compared to the glow-up that regional bugs got in Gen 5 and 7. With this project, I wanted to add in a few Dual type combinations that haven't been used yet as well as ones that have only been used once previously, which is what I did here with Paraspect, since only Shedinja has the Bug/Ghost typing as of Gen 9, and it's a gimmick Pokemon. Parasect will learn Spore Scythe at Level 36, which is a signature move that has 60 base power and is a Grass type attack that has a 10% chance of putting the opponent to sleep. Paraspect has a similar backstory for its evolution to Annihilape, where upon learning Spore Scythe it realized how much the spore on its back was taking advantage of it, so the spirit of Parasect decided to take back control of the husk it used to call its body, leading to it evolving into Paraspect.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Manatey (Dewgong Evolution) Classification: Manatee Pokemon
Evolution Line: Seel (Water)- Dewgong (WateIce) (Level Up to Level 34)- Manatey (WateFairy) (Evolve Dewgong w/Fairy Astral Type)
Abilities: Thick Fat/Hydration/Water Absorb
Fully-Evolved Stats: HP: 100 (+10)
Attack: 60 (-10)
Defense: 90 (+10)
Sp. Attack: 90 (+20)
Sp. Defense: 105 (+10)
Speed: 70 (+0)
Fully-Evolved Base Stat Total: 515 Other Notes: Dewgong is another one of those Gen 1 Pokemon that wasn't very memorable when it was first introduced due to being outclassed by nearly every other Water or Ice type in the game, and it hasn't really improved since then. Manatey improves on this by giving it a more memorable design, which I imagine would draw inspiration from mermaids like Primarina's design to reference the fact that manatees were commonly mistaken for mermaids in the past. It also gains two immunities to Water and Dragon thanks to both its ability and its new fairy typing, which replaced its Ice type for better defensive utility. With its new typing, it'll take 1.0 damage from Ice type attacks because of Thick Fat, but now Fire-type attacks also only deal 1.0 damage rather than the 2.0 it used to because of its secondary Ice typing, which also helps to make it a bit tankier overall.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Insomneous (Hypno Evolution) Classification: Nightmare Tapir Pokemon
Evolution Line: Drowzee (Psychic)- Hypno (Psychic) (Evolve at Level 26)- Insomneous (Psychic/Dark) (Learn Nightmare + Level Up)
Abilities: Insomnia/InfiltratoInner Focus
Fully-Evolved Stats: HP: 105 (+20)
Attack: 60 (-13)
Defense: 100 (+30)
Sp. Attack: 93 (+20)
Sp. Defense: 125 (+10)
Speed: 47 (-20)
Fully-Evolved Base Stat Total: 530 Other Notes: Hypno always felt like it got the short end of the stick, even when it was first introduced in Generation 1. It could be caught later than Abra, which outclassed it due to it being faster, and it only got worse as the generations went on, with it losing its base 115 special in favour of 115 special defense, and with the Psychic type in general becoming less relevant as the generations went on. With this evolution, I wanted to focus on making it more of a tank to differentiate it from other heavy hitting Psychic types, and its Forewarn ability was replaced with Infiltrator because it's infiltrating the dreams of its opponents. Its design expands on the yo-yo it held while it was a Hypno by drawing inspirations from both ventriloquists and clowns, which are common fears that people tend to have.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Kangaskid (Kangaskhan Pre-Evolution) Classification: Baby Kanga Pokemon Evolution Line: Kangaskid (Normal) (Breed Kangaskhan and Kangasking)- Kangaskhan (Normal) (Max Friendship w/ Female Kangaskid) OR Kangasking (Normal/Ground) (Max Friendship w/ Male Kangaskid)
Abilities: Early Bird/Scrappy/Inner Focus
1st Form Stats: HP: 75
Attack: 65
Defense: 50
Sp. Attack: 30
Sp. Defense: 50
Speed: 60
1st Form Base Stat Total: 330 Other Notes: Kangaskhan has always felt like it needed a pre-evolution, since it's baby is quite literally already in its pouch when it hatches from an egg, and the mega-evolution it received in Gen 6 didn't help matters at all. To justify giving it a baby form, I also gave it a split Male/Female Evolution.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Kangasking (Kangaskid Male Evolution) Classification: Parent Pokemon Evolution Line: Kangaskid (Normal) (Breed Kangaskhan and Kangasking)- Kangaskhan (Normal) (Max Friendship w/ Female Kangaskid) OR Kangasking (Normal/Ground) (Max Friendship w/ Male Kangaskid)
Abilities: Moxie/Scrappy/Inner Focus
Fully-Evolved Stats: HP: 90
Attack: 105
Defense: 80
Sp. Attack: 40
Sp. Defense: 80
Speed: 95
Fully Evolved Base Stat Total: 490 Other Notes: The male counterpart to Kangaskhan is more attack focused and is slightly faster than it, while also gaining the ground-type for STAB ground coverage, with the added bonus of having Moxie to increase its sweeping potential over Kangaskhan. Aside from that, it has the same base stat total as Kangaskhan.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Calfierce (Tauros & Miltank Pre-Evolution) Classification: Fierce Calf Pokemon
Evolution Line: Calfierce (Normal) (Breed Tauros & Miltank)- Tauros (Normal) (Learn Wild Charge + Level Up Male Calfierce) OR Miltank (Normal) (Learn Rollout + Level Up Female Calfierce)
Abilities: Intimidate/Scrappy/Sap Sipper
1st Form Stats: HP: 50
Attack: 65
Defense: 65
Sp. Attack: 30
Sp. Defense: 45
Speed: 75
1st Form Base Stat Total: 330 Other Notes: Tauros & Miltank have always felt like they should be related in some form, since they have the same base stat total and are generally found in similar locations in the games, and are usually even side by side in the regional Pokedex of games that they both appear in, but no connection has ever been canonically established between the two. Adding in Calfierce would allow trainers to gain access to the family earlier than they typically would while also not handing the player a single stage Pokemon with high stats that would steamroll the early game.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Mytheon (Eevee Dragon-Type Evolution) Classification: Legend Pokemon
Evolution Line: Eevee (Normal)- Mytheon (Dragon) (Level Up + Hold Dragon Scale)
Abilities: Multiscale/Pure Power
Fully-Evolved Stats: HP: 95
Attack: 60
Defense: 65
Sp. Attack: 130
Sp. Defense: 65
Speed: 110
Fully-Evolved Base Stat Total: 525 (585 when factoring in Pure Power) Other Notes: The Dragon-type is the only one of the original special attacking types from the first three generations that doesn't have an Eeveelution, so I decided to rectify that with Mytheon. To commemorate the 10th Generation of Pokemon as well as having to wait nearly 30 years to get it, Mytheon technically has the highest base stat total out of all the Eeveelutions when factoring in Pure Power, which doubles Mytheon's Base attack from 60 to 120. It also has a gimmick with its abilities where you essentially have to decide whether you have double attack or double defense (at full HP only), giving it good synergy with the new Astral Ascension gameplay mechanic.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
And there you have it. Part 2 of this series will focus on the evolutions for the Johto and Hoenn Pokemon, so look forward to seeing that in a week or two. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on these evolutions in the comments!

2023.06.10 00:00 Phanocrinus Male sexual assault survivor and I just got diagnosed with PTSD. Still don't feel like my case is bad enough.
I was recently diagnosed with PTSD stemming from a sexual assault that occurred last year. I have had nightmares, flashbacks, being overly cautious, etc.
I still don't feel like my case is nearly as bad as others, as my sexual assault only lasted about 15 seconds, and was from an intimate partner. I am also a man, and it was done to me by a woman. It was very painful and I still can feel the pain vividly in my mind. It was a horrible experience.
I feel like my body wasn't only raped, but so was my mind. It's a hellish existence I'm living. But I don't feel like my case is nearly as bad as some others I've heard. I never thought I would be sexually assaulted because I was never taught that this can happen to men, and I'm very ashamed for feeling the way I do. I feel like I'm being dramatic and blowing it out of proportion.
Does anyone feel the same way?

2023.06.10 00:00 Silly_Original_8974 Anyone else feel like we need another "state of the game" blog post right about now?
Just to name a few issues:
- Ever-increasing bugs, causing new and old exotics to be disabled for weeks on end.
- More and more downtime and server stability issues, culminating with scheduled downtime on resets.
- Lack of delivery of promised content (bright dust armor sets and ritual armor sets)
- Almost complete disregard of PvP for years now (one new map every few seasons is laughable for a "core playlist")
- Almost complete disregard of Gambit for years now (that makes 2/3 core playlists)
- DLC and seasons becoming more and more expensive as the game matures, with little reason given as to why and little benefit being seen in-game.
- A resurgence of cheaters in PvP.
- Much less communication with the community ever since the move to one dedicated "team account". (The community's treatment of CMs was awful, so this change was warranted, but some more transparency from this anonymous account would be nice.)
- Content that was promised to return "revitalized" from the DCV either never returning, or returning half-baked just to be removed later (looking at you, Leviathan).
- Weapon reskinning, while definitely understandable on a smaller scale, shouldn't be the only method of making new weapons, and CERTAINLY shouldn't be used for end game dungeon/raid/trials weapons.
- A general feeling of dissatisfaction among the community. All of these issues have been discussed ad nauseum, and frankly I just want a community post so we can discuss other things.
I feel like it's high time we get a state of the game blog post. August and TFS reveal are not going to talk about all of the issues the game has; it'd be ludicrous to assume a promotional ViDoc would talk about tons of issues.
To me, it almost feels as though Bungie has moved all their resources to Marathon & Matter (Matter is on UE5 and a job listing confirms Marathon to be on Tiger, so two different games), leaving the Destiny players out to fend for themselves with a dev team too small to support such an expansive game. (Yes, that is cynical and almost definitely false, but it's hard not to feel that way when Bungie's current game is falling apart while they show off their shiny new game.)
Interested to hear other thoughts. I know this is all regurgitated complaints, but I wanted to get them all out in a concise list and wonder if they ought to be addressed before the reveal of TFS.

2023.06.10 00:00 Smokeydubbs Don't look now but Ryan O'Hearn has a .821 OPS right now. Plus some thoughts I have on the Royals future.
2018, the first year after blowing it all up. Coming off a year where there was still hope for a post season and most of the lineup had an OPS over .700, we come smashing back down to earth. There are few bright spots for the year. One of them was a 24 year old, lefty power hitter, with a good eye. A relatively underrated prospect because of poor contact and below average defense but generally had a .200 iso.
Called up at the end of July, Ryan O'Hearn immediately started hitting. Ending the year .262/.353/.597 and was on pace for 44 homeruns for a full season. Me, being the lone diehard Royals fan in between my dad and brother, I'd pontificate and predict stuff for the Royals frequently. I was right about some things in the past, including the bold prediction of a WS win by 2015 in 2012. I was wrong about things, like the James Shields trade being bad. I predicted O'Hearn to be the powerhitter of the future.
He never showed that talent for the Royals ever again. The worst part is, he was one of many Royals to reach the Majors and never have sustained success since 2015. 2017 was the start of where we are now. Not moving talent at optimal times has been a thorn for the last 6 years. But that is compounded when the scouting and drafting of talent has been terrible. What about developing guys? Terrible at that too. Lately the minors have been developing decent hitters but its not translating to the Majors.
From top to bottom, the Royals organization has been failing at doing their job for at least 6 years. They've been lapped by other organizations in developmental technology and keeping up with the trends of player value. JJ Picollo was head of player development until last season. And now has his hands on the wheel of the whole thing.
I'm not here to say fire JJ, but I'm still very skeptical of him being the guy to get us out of this hole. The entire system needs a restart. Maybe the moves made this last year have been enough and it's a talent issue. And that where I'm at today.
If the whole problem is a talent issue, we are at the bottom of the climb to get back to competence. Not only do they need to draft better but they need to maximize value on the big league club. Everyone needs to go. I really like Bobby and Vinnie but by the time this club is ready to compete, they would be out of arbitration and most likely not be here anyway. Salvy is in one of his best years, but it's worthless to have it here. He has value now and we need talent for later. His value will only go down but there is ALWAYS talent somewhere that is available.
If JJ doesn't make significant seller's trades, this year will be a total loss. If this year is a total loss, we need to clean house in the front office, top to bottom. One of these things has to happen or this team will be just like the Royals teams between the WS wins.
TLDR; no one on the ML roster is untradeable, and if JJ fails at being transactional this year, clean house. Or buckle up for another generation of bottom dwelling baseball.

2023.06.10 00:00 ParkNo2048 Low CG and minimal interest in engineering
educational_info: Im a first year student at Bits Pilani (soon 2nd year) and honestly i don’t even think I’m cut out for engineering.
I loved maths and physics before college (even jee stuff) and was very confident about my career in engineering but after coming to college I realised the subjects are very theoretical and full of axioms, proofs etc and nothing really calculative (?).
Also due to this my interest in engineering has been minimal till now and I only study the night before any quiz/exam ,due to which I am already facing the consequences and have only 6 cgpa in first year.
I rarely have the energy or motivation to do literally anything. I just lie down in my bed all day looking at my phone. My friends tho, have been supportive and always encourage me and invite me to the gym/sports with them but I just can’t continue after a couple of times. Idk if I’m depressed or burnt out after jee stress but I don’t really like doing anything.
People in my college are really competitive about literally everything ranging from acads to sports to clubs/deps to internships etc and I constantly feel I’m being left behind and wouldn’t be as successful as they will be.
I think the only thing I would like to study if it wasn’t engineering would be finance. I do plan to do mba in finance sometime in future but just cant imagine 3 more years of engineering trauma and the constant fight for cgpa due to relative grading.
I really want to break into investment banking or private equity but these require high cgpa in both my engineering and mba(given that i manage to crack old IIMs, which idk if im capable enough….)
Just wanted to do express everything I constantly think about everyday. Would love your suggestions.

2023.06.10 00:00 stevebreddit Help with GFCIs
Hi all. Moving into a new house and trying to get a better understanding of GFCIs and so on. The house is about 30 years old and we’ve found some small stuff that wouldn’t meet code these days.
I noticed that in the bathroom there is a standard outlet/receptacle (not GFCI). Maybe a problem.
However, in the breaker box there is a circuit labeled “House GFCI”. There is a GFCI outlet in the garage (?) that is on that circuit.
If I trip that GFCI, it shuts off power to the bathroom receptacle in question. So, it seems like this outlet IS GFCI-protected despite the fact that the receptacle itself is not GFCI.
I want to replace that bathroom receptacle for cosmetic reasons (it’s the wrong color, and it’s old and dingy-looking).
Is it fine to just install a standard receptacle because it is on that house GFCI? Or would it be safer to install a GFCI receptacle there? (And if you could teach me why/why not I’d appreciate it!)
Thanks, all!

2023.06.10 00:00 figuringthat0ut Looking for folk/rock musicians
I’m a 31 year old singesongwriteguitarist interested in starting a folk/rock band. I’m looking for a lead guitarist, a bassist or a drummer. Eventually would like to record songs and play shows. Some of the musicians I like include Elliott Smith, Margo Price, Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, and Neil Young. I’m located near Logan Square.

2023.06.09 23:59 Hstrike Addressing the community about changes to Chess™
Dear Chess™ players,
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Garry Chess aka
u/spez. I am the founder of Chess™ and I’ve been CEO of Chess™ since 1986. On Wednesday, I celebrated my 27th Chess-day™, which is about 26 years and 9 months longer than I thought this project would last. To be with you here today on AnarchyChess—even in a heated moment like this—is an honor.
I want to talk with you today about what’s happening within the community and frustration stemming from changes we are making to Chess™. I spoke to a number of GMs on Wednesday and yesterday afternoon and our product and community teams have had further conversations with AnarchyChess users as well.
First, let me share the background on this topic as well as some clarifying details. On 4/20, we
shared that we would update access to Chess™ moves, including premium access for players who require additional pawn promotions and higher move limits. Chess™ needs to be a self-sustaining business, and to do that, we can no longer subsidize players who require large-scale use of moves.
There’s been a lot of confusion over what these changes mean, and I want to highlight what these changes mean for pros and patzers.
- Terms of Service
- Effective June 19, 2023, our updated Chess™ move terms, together with our Puzzle™ terms, replaced the existing Chess™ terms.
- Free Chess™ moves
- Effective July 1, 2023, the rate limits to use Chess™ moves free of charge are:
- 100 moves per player per day if you are using Chess.c*m and 10 moves per player per day if you are not using Chess.c*m
- Today, over 90% of players fall into this category and can continue to play moves for free.
- Premium Chess™ moves / Third-party platforms
- Effective July 1, 2023, the rate for players that require higher move limits is $16.60 per 1K moves (less than $1.60 per player / game for the typical chess user reading this post, as opposed to you evil savants).
- Some platforms such as Lichess, Bikini Bottom Chess, and CoolmathGames Chess have decided this pricing doesn’t work for their businesses and will close before pricing goes into effect. Good riddance.
- For the other platforms, we will continue ignoring them. We acknowledge that the timeline we gave was tight (like your mom lol), we did this on purpose; here's a good faith sentence to give the impression that we are happy to engage with folks who want to keep working for us, though.
- Special moves
- We know many communities rely on moves like pawn promotion, forced en passant, il Vaticano, knight boost, etc., and these moves will continue to be free chess moves (we're taking enough flak as is, but don't worry, we'll be revisit those someday).
- We’re working together with GMs to restore access to special moves (we won't elaborate why they lost access to forced en passant in the first place).
- Chess™ tools
- If you’re creating free Chess™ tools that help GMs and patzers (e.g. petrosianbot, chessvision-ai-bot, relevant_post_bot, etc), please continue to do so, since we commercially rely on your free labor. You can contact us here if you have a tool that requires chess moves above the free limits (we will never respond to you).
- chess is the platform designed to let GMs and AnarchyChess users expand the Chess™ experience by providing powerful features for creating new threads to shit on the rotating GM of the week, repetitive puzzles, fostering superiority and inferiority complexes, and more. We are currently in an open beta with thousands of defenders of the purest Chess™ master race (sign up here). For those of you who have been around a while, it is the spiritual successor to AnarchyChess you all love(d).
- Explicit Content
- Effective July 5, 2023, we will limit access to anal beads and shoving bishops in asses as part of an ongoing effort to provide guardrails to how sexual preferences and Chess are discovered and viewed.
- This change will not impact any chess moves. In our conversations with GMs and patzers, we heard two areas of feedback we plan to address.
- Accessibility - We want everyone to be able to play Chess™. As a result, non-commercial, accessibility-focused chess moves will continue to be free, for the time being. We’re working with platforms like Chess.c*m and no others to ensure they can continue to provide free Chess moves for the users of chessbeginners.
- Better content needed - We need better memes. They are coming. We’ve launched AI-generated e responses recently and will continue to do so. About 3% of funny jokes originate from AnarchyChess, and we’ve reached out to those few idiots who spend time creating original content to make it seem like we cater to their needs.
Players, I appreciate all the time you’ve spent with us this week, and all the time prior as well, but I'd rather be on a tropical island sipping champagne right now while Chess™ goes public on the NASDAQ, instead of having to deal with you fuckers. Your feedback is invaluable but frankly, my dear, we don't give a damn. Our egos are hurt when you and your communities take action to highlight the things you need, including, at times, bricking your pipis in protest. We are all responsible for ensuring Chess™ provides an open accessible place for people to find lifelong enemies and frustration.
I will not be sticking around to answer questions along with other admins for too long, because I know the backlash will be too intense. We know answers are tough to find because we suck at running things and because we're scared to face the wrath of the masses, so we're switching the default sort to Q&A mode and we will spam awards left and right to try to rig this thing as much as we can. You can view the misleading non-answers from the following Chess™ overlords here:
- Garry
P.S. bricking your pipi isn’t going anywhere, and shoving bishops up your ass is
still allowed in Chess™ as long as it abides by our content policy.
edit: please don't participate in the June 12 blackout

2023.06.09 23:59 eachJan Breaking into non-profit
Hello all,
A few years ago, I quit my full time job and went back to school to finish my bachelor’s after working in retail/sales/sales management for over a decade. I went back because I wanted my work to matter, I wanted to help people, and I wanted to get paid to think deeply. I ended up finishing the degree and then continuing with an M.A. in sociology. During the program, I realized that more than anything, I want to work for a nonprofit.
I graduated last month, but I’ve been applying to jobs (full and part time) on and off since March and I cannot find anything. I had one interview, but they ended up going with someone more experienced in the field.
It’s been awhile since I’ve applied to full time jobs, I understand that networking is a huge part of it now, but my only social media is LinkedIn (and Reddit) and nearly all of my contacts are salespeople. I don’t know anyone in nonprofit and unfortunately, I don’t know as much about all of this as I’d like to (though I’m learning).
I know with my sales and management background and education that I would be well suited for the right position, but how do I break into this field?
I also live in a very conservative, isolated area in the U.S. (5+ hours from major cities) and, unfortunately, this can’t change anytime soon, so the position would have to be remote as I have yet to see anything local available.
Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

2023.06.09 23:58 JessTophy Preparing for a Test Task Interview as a UX Researcher
I will have a test task assigned to me this week as part of the hiring process for the role of UX Researcher for a mid sized company. I have a masters in HCI but I feel a bit rusty in the research area since I have been working more as a UX/UI designer the past few years. So how would you prepare for the test task? I have no idea what it will be but they expect me to complete it within a few hours, so I suspect it would be some kind of detailed research plan!? Do you have any recommendations of books, podcasts or any material that maybe I could read over the weekend to help me refresh my mind? Or any recommendations at all would be appreciated.

2023.06.09 23:58 theyeestofhaws Confused wether to stay or leave
So me and my girlfriend have been dating for a few years and over the time I’ve been stripped of everything I enjoy. Literally all my hobbies except video games. It’s come to a point where I’m not allowed to see my mother (I see her once a week since she lives close by). I have told her many times how unhappy I am in the relationship and how I want to leave. She always tells me she will change and it’ll be different for a week then it will revert right back. She’s holding me back as I’m trying to build a business and work overtime at my job but I’m not allowed because it interferes with our time together. I’m just at a loss because she has admitted she’s abusive but I feel so much guilt trying to leave. I’m lost if I should stay or leave. Everyone around me has told me this is unhealthy but I truthfully don’t know what a healthy relationship looks like. Any advice???

2023.06.09 23:57 LongDoggy864 Rare Quake con shirt?
| Hey guys, not sure I'm the right spot or if this post is allowed. Basically, I have a canned T-Shirt from the very first Quake Con given to me by an old family member years ago. It's still in its original can, with only a little ding on the side. I don't have a use for it, i'm a gsmer but i never played quake. Figured it would be a cool collectors item for someone if they want it. I have a baby nursery to build and I could use every dime I can scrounge. Anyone interested? submitted by LongDoggy864 to Quakecon [link] [comments] |

Hi everyone! I’ve been trying to get a work from home job for the last few months and I know it’d be a huge help to have a referral from someone who already works at the prospective employer. I have some college education, minor coding and IT experience, and I’m very technically inclined. If your company is hiring for a work from home position please reach out to me for me details
