20k-25k PC build (CPU only) mainly for creative work
2023.06.09 19:56 cloudfulrain 20k-25k PC build (CPU only) mainly for creative work
Hi! I'm a non-techie (and very much a newbie) college student who needs help in building a PC. I'm an art student who mainly uses Photoshop/Illustrator and might dabble with Maya 3D and Blender in the future. So I need a PC that is upgradeable to something better but can still cater to my needs right now.
I only have 25k for the build (excl. peripherals) right now and I can't afford anything more than na talaga because I'm still a student. I am also not looking for the best performance ever. Just the best that I can get within the budget.
My laptop's current processor is celeron so I think anything is better atp lol.
If I am in the wrong sub, please kindly point me po to the right one. Thank you to those who will help! <3
- - - What are you using the system for?
Creative work like photo/video editing and digital art. Also light gaming.
What's your budget?
Around 20k - 25k for CPU only.
If you're gaming, what is your monitor resolution / refresh rate?
Idk about this because I'm just a newbie, sorry! But the games that I usually play are Stardew Valley and Coral Island lang. I also don't play Valo and Genshin po. Hope that helps huhu.
If you’re doing professional work, what software do you need to use? Mainly Adobe Creative Suite. (Also might use blender, and maya in the future?)

2023.06.09 18:43 JanRoses [TotK] Tears of the Kingdom is good but also agonizing
To preface this, unlike most people now I absolutely loved BotW and still do. Overall I only really had 3 major flaws with the game and that came down to enemy variety, subpar combat (that said it was still pretty good all things considered), and to a much lesser extent I agreed with some that temples would have been a nice inclusion (unlike those clamering for it it didn't make or break the game and I genuinely enjoyed/enjoy the shrines.)
6 years later coming into Totk I have to admit I was apprehensive because of that crafting and fusing trailer. Seeing that I was already scared because of the radio silence and the fact that I'm not a fan of crafting in most games and it looked like the game would take that as a major component to the gameplay. That said, I had high hopes as I believed there could be more beyond the crafting and some of my other major complaints could be addressed. Now having played it the answer is both kind of and not really.
Crafting
As I suspected crafting took a major part in the game. Imo far too much and it's my least favorite aspect. I got autobuild early enough but I still simply don't enjoy the act of making a haphazard machine to get through obstacles and "puzzles" that simply entail making a simple machine to move from point A to point B. Something that the game is riddled with when it comes to shrines, sidequests, koroks, etc. The game really pushes crafting as a puzzle mechanic and while I understand that it can lead to some interesting skips I felt like I had enough control with the runes in BotW to do similar skips without having to painstakingly stop and move pieces around and stick them together a certain way. I am happy for those that enjoy this mechanic but I genuinely find it pacebreaking and oftentimes clunky to execute even if it's ultimately simple.
Abilities
Speaking of the new abilities I genuinely find them to be an overall downgrade to what botw offered. For the reasons I stated above but also because they lack combat utility like what the runes offered in Botw. They had a lot of interesting use both in puzzle and combat unlike these abilities which effectively have no use outside of environmental puzzles. Ascend and recall would work well as extra abilities to unlock but they really don't carry the game. Unlike most people I actually enjoyed traversing through mountain ranges in BOTW and not needing a means to skip it because there were a lot of great ways to circumvent climbing extensively through clever use of freeze, bombs, and revali's gale. This is likely a minority opinion but it's one that I missed dearly when I had to face the umpteeth build contraption sidequest.
Exploration
Exploration of Hyrule (when not focused on crafting) is still like Botw. Gliding is more fun. Sometimes using flying vehicles is fun. The added overworld elements like caves and the sky islands I genuinely loved. Going up and done from them is a lot of fun as it feels like there's a lot more diverse topography and that exploration isn't limited to being outside all the time. It's a shame that it's clearly the less developed portions since the depths likely took up the most time and even then it's the area I hate going to most. Pitch black, enemies aren't any different but simply have the intrusive gloom effect that you have to sidestep, and a lack of meaningful things to discover or interact with. The depths was trying to be something like Phantom hourglass' tower. You're meant to go in with your limited resources with the hope of coming back out with better weapons, rare items to autobuild, and occasionally encounter a sidequest. The issue is that it's really not worth going there for the simple fact that most overworld weapons are more than strong enough when fused properly and the items you receive are mostly fluff. Poe souls will net you a cool costume and zoenite is okay but I feel like even the overworld gives you a ton of material to actually build with as is. Furthermore, there's a lack of risk since you can leave at any time from anywhere. If it had been the case that you could only leave from lightroots or open chasms. That would have made for a more interesting dynamic that would lead to the tense situations they were likely hoping for.
I really wish these elements had simply been incorporated into the sky/overworld so as to have more meaningful locations in areas that are still relatively sparse even now. (Seriously why is the spirit temple underground when it could have slotted in perfectly as the sky keep). As it stands, it's just a place I avoided and took development time away from the temples which are prettier divine beasts.
Sidequests/activities
I appreciate the added sidequests but my goodness do many just have you build or get a thing for a pitiful reward. BOTW was bad in terms of sidequests but at the very least almost all of them rewarded you with access to a shrine or some interesting piece of equipment. It's clear that here we got a lot of bloat going on and it's not exactly the most enjoyable thing to go through a sidequest chain like the 7th heroine in Gerudo dessert and only get a measly watermelon and rupies. I genuinely prefer having shrines as a reward because at the very least it has some tangible effect on my stats once I collect enough. I don't get the hate for shrines. They're bite sized puzzles. They're interesting. I really enjoy zelda for the puzzles it offers having more of them is the reason I play the games for the most part. Second would be story and lastly would be combat.., which I'll get to in reverse order.
Combat
As for combat, I already stated my gripe with the non combat oriented runes. My bigger issue is that nothing meaningful has been changed or added and combat suffers all the more for it. Flurry rush is very powerful (too much when it comes to melee combat) and arrows have effectively been buffed thanks to fuse making them able to shred boss health much faster than even some melee options in BOTW. In turn melee weapons got significantly nerfed for the sake of the fuse mechanic. In theory it makes sense to do so to incentivize the fusing and I like that (in theory) every weapon is basically at least decent in combat and if you stack weapons you can greatly extend the life of your preferred one. But the process of fusing is also clunky and worse of all slow. Weapon durability wasn't an issue for me in BOTW because it was incredibly easy to replace a good weapon with something of similar caliber (supposing you were fighting something decently strong) now, there's an added level of micromanagement that isn't particularly fun but I have to admit it does extend the life of the weapon. This is one thing that I'm iffy as to what I'd rather have. I think my opinion to fusing could be improved easily with QoL changes like unfusing a weapon in the field rather than in menus and making it so I could fuse to weapons from the select wheel mid combat rather than do it from the ground.
That said, it's aggravating that we still only have 3 basic weapon combat animations and nothing else. I think the game desperately needed at least 3-4 more weapons types to round off some variety in combat encounters. It would likely mean players have to memorize more attack patterns but the game isn't that hard given the amount of resources at your disposal.
Bosses
Only counting main ones. Gohma, Gibdo Queen, and Seized Construct are genuinely awesome. The rest... not so much. But I appreciate the design variety. Unlike most I actually really enjoyed the blights and think their fights are generally more interesting and challenging. Overall Blights still edge out because I feel like their mechanics reward more quick thinking and generally lead to more tense fights because of their myriad of attacks that can absolutely one shot you. But I won't pretend that these three listed are far behind. I just find that this game made their weaknesses far too easy to exploit if you have a reasonable stockpile of elemental items to fire from your arrows. Unlike Botw's blights which required actual use of your runes to counter so there wasn't a need to grind in order to fight them properly. Gannondorf is definitely the best fight in Zelda history hands down though.
Story
The story is bad. I think a lot of other people have broken down why in the sub and others but suffice to say I felt no connection to anyone this time around. The stakes, setting, and atmosphere set by BOTW is still uncontested between the two and at the very least it made sense to pace the story as it was in BOTW. But even then I have to admit the issue with Tears isn't even so much the flashbacks. They work fine for this type of story although not ideal considering we're comparing flashbacks that develop characters vs flashbacks that develop a narrative. The bigger problem is that in present day nothing meaningful gets developed. We help out the sages and we understand that they are important but the reasoning is significantly less meaningful than that of BOTW. Sages help here because it basically was the way the conflict was set up 10000 years ago. The champions helped in BOTW because we actively needed their help controlling the divine beasts to break the barriers of Calamity Gannon's defenses (the blights protecting the cocoon). There was also obviously more of a connection between the current champions and those that died.
Final Thoughts
At its core I like the game. It's Botw with changes that when actually related to exploration and (somewhat) combat are pretty good. But the focus on crafting, the added fluff sidequests and locations, and other gripes specific to this game that weren't an issue in BOTW really sour the experience for me and still make BoTW my preferred experience because I can avoid crafting altogether, I enjoyed a lot of the additions I mentioned in Tears but the game is too intrinsically tied to crafting for my taste. Exploration has also been bloated to an absurd degree in tears with a lot of it feeling almost meaningless and sidequests not having interesting stories or rewards to compensate the fact that many are less interesting than their BOTW counterparts offered by Kass.
If I had to replay one from start to end BOTW is still my preferred choice. If I was only doing bosses I'd say Tears takes the cake in spite of me preferring the blights given that Gannondorf is genuinely such a great fight.
I'm likely not gonna finish all the shrines this time cause I'm a bit tired of Hyrule. At the end of the day I admit I'm dissapointed with the price vs content offered. It's a 70 dollar game that took 6 years to make but it's clear that they used the time to develop novel concepts rather than expand and refine already existing ones. Which is fine if crafting is really your thing or you genuinely find the depths as engaging as reviewers make them out to be. But it just makes BotW look like a more cohesive and tight knit experience by comparison. I can see myself preferring Tears depending on what I'm looking for (as mentioned boss fights) but right now I still lean towards BOTW.

2023.06.09 17:09 Watafool Grateful to Star Rail
I'm very grateful to MHY for releasing Star Rail. It's an absolutely incredible game with great writing and it just feels very fresh.
I came from Genshin where I have been playing since the end of the first Venti banner. I took a small break between Dragonspine and Inazuma, but other than that I was doing my dailies almost every day. I spent thousands of dollars getting a bunch of C6 5* and a few R5 weapons as well. I was making a valiant effort to try to F10 all of my characters by switching up my teams whenever I got one to max.
With Star Rail coming out at the end of Sumeru when there wasn't any more content for me to delve into, it seemed like the perfect time to try it out, and it turned out that I loved it. Each day I was less and less interested in doing my Genshin dailies and farming friendship.
But then, I consumed all of the Star Rail content. There was no exploring to be done to find oculi or large caverns with extensive puzzles.
When SW came out I had a bunch of wishes saved up and I got her! I was so excited to play her finally. But then it hit me - with no exploring or puzzles, all I was left with was grinding materials for characters.
Day in and day out, all I'm doing is grinding materials until the next character I get, and I realized that it wasn't fun. It just felt like a second job. So I uninstalled both games and I feel so free now to do some other stuff that I haven't let myself do for a few years.
Tl;Dr Star Rail was more fun than Genshin, but boring due to lack of content and I'm no longer playing either of them, and I'm going to avoid gachas in the future.
Thank you for helping me Mr. Svarog!

Let's get to the games:
GnollHack [Game Size: 1.1 GB] (Free)
Genre: RPG / Roguelike - Offline
Orientation: Landscape + Portrait
Required Attention: Full
tl;dr review by JBMessin:
Gnollhack is a fun variant of the famous roguelike “Nethack” designed specifically for mobile. In comparison to the original game, it features numerous quality-of-life changes, both ASCII and graphical tiles for the dungeon floors, and even voice acting.
A major advantage over other Nethack variants is Gnollhack’s large and intuitive UI. The most used commands are available on our main screen, and everything else is just a tap away and presented with clear and noticeable icons. The UI may look more cluttered than most modern mobile games, but it’s a big step up in comparison to many Nethack-based games.
What's also great about Gnollhack is that it's easier in the beginning than it is towards the end, which is completely different from Nethack and its other mobile variants. This makes it perfect for those that aren't familiar with the genre’s unforgiving gameplay and crazy learning curve.
The graphical ground tiles are impressive for a game genre where the archaic ASCII art style is typically preferred. The character and enemy sprites are also well-made and even presented according to creature size, which means larger enemies actually have larger sprites. Lastly, it’s much easier to navigate our inventory in Gnollhack than in most similar games since our weapons, armor, wands, etc. are actually presented visually.
The biggest downside to Gnollhack is its 1+ GB size, which isn’t massive by AAA standards but is ridiculously large for a Nethack variant. It's also heavy on battery usage, although that is to be expected with gameplay where so much is going on at all times.
Gnollhack is completely free without ads or iAPs. Overall, despite its few flaws, it’s a fantastic introduction to the brutality that is Nethack.
App Store Beta (TestFlight):
Here Wavecade [Total Game Size: 221 MB] ($2.99)
Genre: Arcade / Bullet-Hell - Online + Offline
Orientation: Landscape + Portrait
Required Attention: Full
tl;dr review by Solitalker:
Wavecade is a beautiful retro-styled roguelike arcade space shooter where we control the speed of time and destroy waves of incoming space blocks to score as many points as possible.
As we dodge and swerve our way through the 80's retro-inspired neon space, our ship automatically fires at any blocks in sight.
But this is where it gets interesting, because if we pull our ship toward the bottom of the screen, time slows down, allowing us to precisely maneuver away from projectiles and environmental space hazards. Pushing forward toward the top of the screen speeds up time beyond 100%, with greater points and rewards the faster we’re traveling.
After each run, experience gained unlocks new ranks that let us customize our ship. Cosmetics and new abilities can be configured and equipped before starting a new run, and even the appearance of the blocks we're facing can be customized to our liking.
A wide variety of powerups and weapons can be found throughout each run, leading to some wonderfully overpowered moments of total destruction. But some buffs and abilities are so effective that blocks don’t even make it on screen before they're destroyed, which is a little disappointing since we don't get to see the vibrant neon particle-filled explosions.
The touch controls can be frustrating at times. By default, we tap and drag our ship around manually, but this leaves our ship and the area directly around it hidden by our finger during play. Thankfully, the ship can be offset in the settings, or a virtual joystick can be enabled.
The visual and audio experience of Wavecade is incredibly satisfying, and its fantastic soundtrack perfectly fits the aesthetics.
For $2.99 on iOS with no additional monetization, it’s a very enjoyable arcade shoot ‘em up with relatively quick runs and a rewarding high-score system.

Down in Bermuda [Game Size: 513 MB] ($5.99)
Genre: Puzzle / Casual - Offline
Orientation: Landscape
Required Attention: Some
tl;dr review by AlexSem:
Down in Bermuda is a cute isometric puzzle adventure from the creators of “Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise”, where we explore the mysteries of a secluded island by participating in a series of brain-testing puzzle activities.
Each level consists of a large 3D island that we can freely observe from all sides in search of interactive objects, mini-games, and puzzle clues. We need to click, swipe, and drag said objects in a specific sequence to complete each puzzle, and the key to success lies in attentiveness, a bit of luck, and sometimes clicking all the suspicious spots in the hope that something meaningful happens.
We also get to meet local inhabitants and help them with their problems – all while searching for a way to escape the island. The puzzles in each scene can be solved in any order, but we still need to finish certain scenarios to proceed in the game.
A huge portion of the gameplay revolves around finding and gathering all the glowing stars hidden in each level. While we can use a handy star map to easily locate them, there is a special achievement if we manage to succeed without its help.
We may also find special keys used to open advanced parts of the puzzles on previous islands, so a bit of backtracking is required to complete the game 100%. Other than that, the game progresses in a linear fashion, which can be disappointing for hardcore puzzle fans, but is perfect for casual play.
Down in Bermuda is a premium game without ads or iAPs that costs $5.99 on iOS. Despite being rather short, it provides an engaging puzzle-solving experience that I’m sure anyone fond of high-quality mobile adventure games will appreciate.

lichess [Game Size: 137 MB] (Free)
Genre: Board / Casual / Chess - Online + Offline
Orientation: Portrait + Landscape
Required Attention: Full
tl;dr review by jurij:
lichess is a free open-source chess app with zero ads and nothing hidden behind a paywall.
The app is fast and simple. We can start a game in seconds, and since there are very few options and menus, everything is centered around actually playing. It features several online and offline chess variations, but in comparison to the Chess.com app or the website version of lichess, it still lacks several advanced features.
We also have access to puzzles, game lessons, and some game analysis options, but all of this works much better in the website version.
lichess is the second most popular chess platform after Chess.com, and if you love chess, you probably already have both installed. lichess is just a tad more outdated overall, but at least we don’t have to live with any paywalled features.
The lichess mobile app is a few years behind the website version in terms of usability – in large part because the mostly volunteer team managing the game is just not focused on the mobile version for some reason. A great example of how rudimentary some parts of the app are is the extremely clunky board editor that looks like it was made in a day and then never updated.
Ultimately, it’s a simple but fully free chess app for serious players that is amazing for starting fast bullet and blitz games. It lacks functionality and varied bots but has everything else you need for a great chess experience.

Arrow War (Game Size: 130 MB] (Free)
Genre: Tower Defense / Casual - Offline
Orientation: Landscape
Required Attention: Little (semi-idle)
tl;dr review by NimbleThor:
Arrow War is a casual and silly castle defense game where we manage a group of archers firing arrows at the waves of incoming enemies that try to seize our tower.
Starting with just a single archer, we must equip it with new bows, upgrade existing ones, enhance the skills of the bow, and much more to grow stronger. As we progress, we unlock more archers, each of which we need to manage in the same way.
Every wave takes a few minutes to complete, after which we’re taken back to our base, where we can upgrade our team in different ways, start the next wave, or play other game modes.
During combat, our archers automatically aim at the nearest enemies, while we strategically trigger their skills. So the combat isn’t idle, but it’s an ideal game to play while watching TV or doing something else.
There are a ton of ways to upgrade our archers and castle wall, lots of fun bows to unlock, quests to complete, and areas around our castle to capture so they automatically produce resources for us. Unfortunately, the combat is always the same across all the game modes.
The game features a premium currency, but we earn plenty of it for free, allowing us to buy things such as auto-aim for our main archer. There is technically also an energy system, but we gain so much of it that it’s rarely ever felt. Overall, the progression is nicely balanced for free players, and I haven’t experienced any paywalls.
Unfortunately, the game doesn’t utilize the wide screens of modern smartphones.
Arrow War monetizes via incentivized ads, a few forced ads, and iAPs to grow stronger faster. The iAPs aren’t necessary to progress, but the 5-second forced ads may become annoying. Some of the iAPs remove these ads.

2023.06.09 14:52 MaximumElderberry1 [TOTK] This game is pretty lackluster and boring
I loved botw a lot, but I still wasn’t necessarily excited for totk although I definitely had planned to get it on the day of release. Anyways, that day rolls around and I start playing. I love it so much, especially the starting island. As I play I did the wind temple and water temple. I enjoyed them but the dungeons were very lackluster and the quests that lead up to the dungeons that involved talking to different people and such were way too easy. I miss spending 15 minutes trying to figure out where I needed to go next after talking to an npc. Now everything is just very easy.
Now, the dungeons themselves weren’t very good. The wind temple was decent, but it still just felt like I was just gliding around the ship for several of the puzzles and the water temple was even worse. The puzzles weren’t a challenge at all and didn’t feel like good fleshed out puzzles. The fire temple doesn’t even need an explanation. I don’t even know what they tried to achieve with that one. The lightning temple is the only one that’s halfway decent and actually feels like a good dungeon. Finally, the 5th dungeon with the 4 different parts for mineru was easier to just use rewind/ultrahand on all the pieces and attach it to a bird construct with a few fans. I did every puzzle except 1 that way. Thankfully the boss was fun.
I really had high hopes for this game but stuff like this just brought it down. After beating totk I went back to play a link between worlds and im realizing how much of a better game that is rather than this game that took 6 years of development and didn’t have a new world and barely had new music.

2023.06.09 02:48 damnfinecupojoe [TOTK] Zelda's Theory of Time (Final(?) Draft of Zelda becomes Hylia)
I'll establish an alternate theory and defend it. Then some key assumptions and conclusions. It will likely still be a little convoluted and require edits - because of the nature of the theory, you sort of have to approach it.... backwards.
Timeline:
Hyruleans (not Hylians, reference TOTK Ganon dialogue), Gorons, Rito, Zora, and Gerudo, live on the continent later known as hyrule. Their histories have been long enough to establish respective cultures, but these peoples are the first of all people in Hyrule.
The Ancient Zonai Kings - The Boar, The Owl, and The Dragon -descend from above the cloud barrier (the sacred realm), where they previously lived in the direct proximity of the Golden Goddessess, and the Triforce. The Zonai relate this information to the early races of Hyrule, which establishes the early Zonai/Hyrulean worship of the Golden Goddessess/Triforce. The early Zonai/Hyrulean culture builds the Zonai ruins on the surface, as well as the mysterious Pillars (explains purported zonai origin despite hyrulean aesthetics). Zoanite is at first abundant on the surface (construct dialogue), but is quickly depleted, leading to the excavation of the depths by the Ancient Zonai Kings, who as a gift to the various races of hyrule, and as an assertion of their territory, create the bargainer statues (not the entity(s?) they evidently embody) and the statues of various races that exist in the depths, which serve as markers towards their territories in the dark of the depths.
At some point, the ancient Zonai King eat their respective secret stones and become Farosh, Naydra, and Dinraaal (and retroactively enact the taboo because of their knowledge of the future in which TOTK Zelda goes back in time, and becomes Hylia, we're getting there). At this point the Zonai race begins to go extinct, an age passes.
Rauru, King of Light, and his sister Mineru, Sage of Spirit, are the last two Zonai alive, they rule the continent with a light grip, if at all, the races essentially rule themselves - the Gerudo had at this point even rejected the Triforce and Golden Goddesses (Gerudo were said to have rejected Hylia, not Golden Goddessess/Triforce, it would also mean that the TOTK Sage of Lightning was the first Gerudo Queen to reject Ganon, not the other one, resolved by incorrect transmission of information through history). The Hyruleans remained in the structures they had built in Faron.
Eventually a Hyrulean Woman is born - Sonia - she is born with the ability to reverse entropy (not "time travel"). The other original sages are also born around this time, with their respective elemental abilities - and of course, Ganondorf (I will write about his origins elsewhere, but essentially he is the product of bene gesserit -style eugenics program created post-gerudo triforce rejection to supplant the Zonai, Ganondorf is the genetic/alchemical product of a Gerudo+Zonai elemental affinities, Zelda is Zonai+Hyrulean, more later).
Sonia, (wiser than even the beings once said to be Gods hint hint), married Rauru, establishing the Zonai/Hyrulean bloodline that we know as the Hylians (not all Hylians, just Zeldas Line, but the name changes for everyone), Zelda is the product of this line. This is a MAJOR RETCON, Zelda is no longer the incarnation of Hylia - an incarnate mortal god - but a literal demigod by blood.
Rauru and Sonia, as their first act, combine their RESPECTIVE powers of Light and Time, and create the Shrines - the seeds of the Lightroots (I say seeds but they came into being simultaneously, this ties into our theory of causality), lighting the depths for the first time (this action is thematically equivalent to the birth of light (genesis)).
Alright, now,
gett ready for several paradoxical statements that I will need to propose and then retroactively justfy after having introduced necessary new context (this itself is another way to understand our theory of time: causes and effects can be reversed - this is Sonias ability that we know as REWIND, in which we can selectively choose causal chains (particular objects) to "reverse-entropy" before RETROACTIVELY REINSERTING THEM INTO THE PROPERLY FLOWING CONTINUITY OF TIME (ie we can CHANGE PREDETERMINED history)- are you guys getting this yet, think very literally about what Sonias ability does and how we use it in puzzles - it does not reverse TIME, TIME IS AN ETERNAL BLOCK, it reverses the objects path through HISTORY and RETROACTIVELY AFFECTS ITS CAUSAL CHAIN FROM THE FUTURE, when you ride a sky rock up it isnt actually moving up, its FALLING, Link doesn arrive at the top - he just left. arriving=leaving, forward=backwards, these are merely tensed descriptions of the same content), in other words: (using rewind) Link can modify his past, in the future of his past, in the present.
Nice,
Next, TOTK memories take place, however, they proceed without the intervention of TOTK Zelda. This timeline is the entire sequence of Zelda games, just as we have popularly understood it via historia. Its the history of the Zelda games just as we know it.
Q: What happens if TOTK Zelda doesnt intervene?
A: "Hylia" as in the "God" intervenes as stated in SS - this is a paradox, if I claim TOTK Zelda becomes SS Hylia, then there cant be a timeline where Hylia exists before TOTK Zeldas intervention. However, Hylia is a capital G God, and I have always held personally that she exists eternally (outside time/space), which is how we're getting around that paradox.
Then, TOTK proper takes place. TOTK Zelda travels to the past and, with Mineru, raises the land into the Sky. Creating the eponymous Sky Islands (Skyloft was also lifted from the same land mass at the same time as the Sky Islands (Timeline "Redo" Skyloft finds itself above the sky barrier even without Zelda/Mineru ability to put it there via divine intervention, some may find this shaky but so what they moved the firmament done a few inches, or they grabbed one of those islands zelda and mineru send there way and snatched it up past the barrier. Thousands of years pass between the raising of Skyloft and SS proper, and the sacred realm has been known to move around, a few inches down is really not the biggest assumption here, the REAL key assumption is that Rauru failing or succeeding to seal Ganon doesnt matter, If rauru doesnt do it with zeldas help, hylia does, both outcomes necessarily arrive at the plot of SS).
How does Zelda become Hylia:
TOTK Zelda consumes her secret stone and transforms into the Light(/time) Dragon (so much alchemy here.) The Light Dragon, being immortal, witnessess the entireity of the Historia, just as we have experienced it.
When SS Zelda "remembers" her memories of being Hylia, what she is actually recieving are the memories of the light dragon retroactively viewing the historia.
So, to make things clear, there are TWO timelines, which are essentially identical:
There is the Hyrule Historia Timeline (admittedly nix (most of) the 2D games I know i give a eulogy at the end for them), which occurs exactly how it does WITHOUT TOTKs Zeldas intervention, and so is without the Light Dragon
Then there is Historia 2 (redo) that included the Light Dragon witnessing it occur.
Which one comes first? Obviously this is also a paradox, and IS THE POINT OF THE WHOLE GAME, which dragon is circling the other?
Lets dig deeper into this by offering some more counter evidence to thee idea.
TOTK prologogue ganondorf knows who Zelda and Link are, meaning Zelda has already intervened in the past before the the begining of totk,
Q: where is the "beginning" of the intervention, its "cause,"
A:It doesnt exist, the begininnig = the end, reference the TOTK logo. But if you want a real origin point? the answer is sonia, the genetic progenitor of time power.
But if we need to put it so crudely as to "tense" it and I do no mean this literally, but: the cause is the cause of the cause (ie absolute contingency). Im not going to get into it here, but this is NOT a eternal return its an eternal spiral (ascent configuration), I wish i could post pictures i have stuff that might make these ideas more palatable, but if you want a physical model of the Zelda Model of Time, reference the scene where Rauru bind Ganondorf and follow the light, the light is time. The TOTK Logo is a 2 dimensional reprentation of a top down perspective of the top of a shrine.
But if you really need a specific departure in time to mark as the beginning, the answer is Sonia.
Some Key Assumptions that I cant integrate into my retelling of the timeline but are nontheless entirely necessary:
The Zelda Universe (and ours lol) works on the combination of the growing block theory and eternalism, in other words: Actions are determined but free will exists ("anyone"/link can "rewind").
Aesthetic differences = developer preferences, above all thematic convergence is to be prioritized above the idea of fictional archeology.
I selectively ignoring 2D games and historia: this is the intent of the developers. Everybody is a historian from the period of their favorite games (prioritized causal lines) in order to make sense of events from their own perspectives in time.
TOTK proper occurs at the end of a converged fallen timeline, this means every causal (even parrellel) chains lead to the same point in time (TOTK proper)
Legacy Structures and Artifacts are real material evidence of past games
- The ancient Lanayru robots are Zonai constucts, again, aesthetic differences = developer preferences, ABOVE ALL are themes
- Oacca are descendants of the Loftwings, who evolve in the absence of anything else but an abundance of Zonai technology, which their culture eventually retrofits until its appearance as we see in TP
- The Depths are the Twilight realm Which by TP is sealed from the surface, I believe the following, the depths literally/geologically exist beneath hyrule for all of Historia, so they are in part a material phenomenom. The depths association with sacred, the thing that imbued it was so much arcane power, was their proximity to the Zonai Kings, who as the first kings and most powerful zonai were essentially Gods: or in other words, they had lived in such close proximity for so unthinkably long that despite not inherently possessing any quality that would allow them to do so, their very presence is a conduit to divinity - this is what I've tried to indicate in past posts by calling them "angels" as opposed to "Gods", or, "Humans," or even "demigods." The Zonai are much like Aliens (ie: Angels).
TOTK memories occur Pre-SS, architecture makes much more sense to me this way.
- Zonai TOT and OOT TOT are built on the same place. Zonai Map structure behind/under SS sealed temple. Was OOT ToT burried by time, Zonai TOT built on top, and then Zeldas post OOT rising of the Zonai Sky Islands reveals OOT TOT underneath Zonai TOT? Did the god-like zonai dig from up and under the SS temple like bugs? It makes more sense if Zonai structures are the oldest structures in hyrule (directly contradicts BOTW SS temple is oldest statement, resolved by BOTW lack of Zonai knowledge).
- OOT Ganondorf is a fully formed malice body, coaxed into creation by Kotake and Koume (who appear in TOTK memories)
- Obviously I've just pretty much left out 2D games, what can I say really, its a little disrespectful to the OG lore heads here I get that and my B but I'm never going to play them - why would I want to? NGL, I've played the 3D games but OOT and MM were rough(diamonds) and I just like the new ones better because thats what I had u feel me? Respect though I read those all those theories too and their great but obviously I get lost in the details because I never had the experience. Also obviously my personal philisophical biases are leaking into my media analysis.
Alright I think thats it. Next post is about sonia, alchemy (triforce), the rebus/christ1 (zelda), christ2/revelation (link), and bene gesserit baby magic (Ganondorf).

Pineapple on Pizza is a game developed by
Majorariatto , an independed (Indie ) Game developer. Which released onto steam on March 28th, 2023 (That's right, this YEAR!) and how much will it set you back?
Total price tag: $0.00 (It's 0;.99 if yo9u want to download just the sound track, but the game is
Absolutely FREE!!!!!! And the fans LOVE IT... Now Saber you're thinking, "How can this game be Absolutely free? Read on if you are interested..!!!
Well the game's premise is this.. You wake up oi a rather large Tropical island.. and on this island ar a bunch of natives and they are smiling.. as you wander around.. But something doesn't quite feel right.. And yes this game has achievements .. 16 currently, but there might be more in the future.. Controls and configuration is easy.. and the music is Catchy..(You can also listen to the music on Youtube a this is a game.. and what Game developer wouldn't want their game to have such catchy tunes..
But as you play and explore and go around the island, there's something amiss.. It's a bit of a puzzle game.. and of course you get all 1 of those achievements if you do certain things... and after playing the game only once, Saberspark64 will probably going to have one of two possible reactions..
Either:
- He'll enjoy this game, Laughing maniaically saying "What the heck happened? get a good chuckle, and say "That was fun, let's play it again!
- Saberspark64 will say "I'm really going to hell for this!
Believe me Saber you should stream this and then review this game.. This simple little $90.00 game and then ask yourself this question and it's a simple one...
"Do I want ""Pineapple on Pizza?":"
Knowing saberspark64 if he loves Pineapple on Pizza he will , but then he'll go.. Oh...My...GOD! What.. Have I DONE???!!!!
I really think you should play this Saber, really you should.. and when this is over, Maybe we'll take the fun and turn it up to 1 million and have people playing this game..
Have fu, Saberspark64.....But if you or your gaming Crew gets killed or Captures, the Secretary of State Gaming Affairs will disavow any knowledge of what you did.. This message will self destruct in....
