My mom has been working abroad for 15+ years already. She had us at an early age and has been a single parent ever since my scumbag father left us at a young age but now she’s blessed with a loving partner. Did everything just to give us a good life, Even endured being away from us.
She went home for vacation last April and we cherished every moment of it as much as we can. Her return to abroad was nearing so we only have so much time to enjoy. Last 2 days ago while I was driving my mom to see some of her old friends, she was sharing her story about the first time she left to work abroad. She said first time wasn’t that hard but the second time was where it really got into her. Sobrang hirap daw umalis the second time kasi ayaw mo nang bumalik, gusto mo na mag stay for good but you can’t. She had to leave because it's the only way she can provide for us and it was the hardest part. She said every time she goes home nag iiba daw kami, the looks, height, hobbies and likes etc. pero kahit ganun daw, “Never kayong tumanda sa paningin ko. kayo pa rin yung same na mga bata na iniiwan ko pag umuuwi ako” in short, we never grew up in her eyes. We were still those kids the first time she left. We're still her babies.
I took a glimpse at her and that’s when it struck me, I suddenly noticed those white linings in her hair, those promised wrinkles slowly showing itself. Her lovely hands that you wouldn’t recognize as a woman’s hand because of how much hard work it has been doing over the years. I noticed it. All of it. Why just now? It has always been there, we weren’t just paying attention. But it was there the whole time. The unavoidable marching of time that goes unnoticed until you pay attention. My mom has been showing these signs of aging.. and I, I just felt so emotional thinking about these things. I want to take care of her too. I feel like I’m running out of time, time to be with her. Like we don’t have much time left cause years just goes so fast and I’m scared of it. She wasn’t there in our 15+ years of our lives but she made her presence felt more than anyone else despite the distance. She showed us what selfless love truly looked like.
I hugged her before dropping her off and thanked her for all the sacrifices she made. I promised her that I will take care of her like the way she took care of us.
I love you ma, Thank you for everything.

Sometimes I feel claustrophobic, but with people. It's a similar feeling to claustrophobia. Like I feel like I'm locked in a small closet and I'm desperate to get out, but it has nothing to do with confined spaces. Instead it's people. Sometimes I'm fine. Sometimes I'm right next to someone and I'm fine. Sometimes I'm hugging someone and I'm fine. And sometimes I'm in a crowded room and I'm fine. But sometimes being near someone (especially if they touch me) gives me this feeling like warmth crawling all over my skin (but in a bad way) and I get this feeling like someone is going to hurt me. Here's the thing though. It's not a fear of the person I'm next to. I'm not afraid of them or anyone else around. It just feels like someone, like a "no one" is going to restrict me or hurt me in some way. And I want to distance myself. I also greatly dislike when my partner is near my face or wants to kiss me because it feels like I can't breathe, or I'll suffocate. It feels claustrophobic.

Diverse mix. There are people from Punjab/Delhi but don't know how many.

Most peers I know study through their laptops here. Rote learning got me nowhere during my first semester here. Unfortunately for you, only the first semester has a physics course.
Lastly, how much free time do y'all get?
In my experience, entire evenings are free at the beginning. Then, as C1 nears, work starts to pile up. It reaches a peak at C1 after which entire evenings are free again. Then as C2 and C3 near, work will start to pile up again.

In case this could be helpful for others—this is just my own experience.
I use a Dexcom G7 and recently stopped using my Tandem pump because I started Afrezza and it’s working so well. I now use Lantus long-acting insulin once each day in place of the pump. I had used my pump for almost 10 years before discovering Afrezza. My A1C is below 6 for the first time since my diagnosis with T1D.
For me, the issue with injectable fast-acting insulin (i.e. the pump with Humalog) was that meals would often make my blood sugar spike before the insulin kicked in, and when my sugar went high post-meal, I’d become impatient and over-correct with fast-acting insulin, only to go low hours later. Then I’d eat, and this experience would repeat itself. It often felt like a roller coaster.
Unlike injectable fast-acting insulin, Afrezza works in minutes and is only effective for 1.5 hours or so—which helps avoid both the highs and lows. If my sugar might run high a couple hours after a meal, I just correct accordingly with Afrezza.
I wish I found this solution sooner. For me, it solves this mismatch in timing that injectable fast-acting insulin so often creates. Afrezza also lets me eat the foods that really used to make my sugar spike—and now with hardly any problems.
My numbers are so stable and it feels amazing to be off the pump.

Am I the problem? My brother, a literal first grader started to act like an "alpha male." He goes around the house and orders people to do stuff for him. He yelled at my mom because "Alpha Males" don't shower and that is straight-up disrespect toward him. Me in high school, senior year, got really annoyed by this behavior when he started to stink the place up and even ordered me to get him his favorite food while I was trying to provide myself with enough money to rent a small apartment near my college. His behavior was rude and bossy as he yelled to me, "GET ME CHIPS YOU MAID." I shook it off by telling him I won't get him the chips and he went full bonkers on me?! In the end, my mom told me to stop being selfish and get him the chips. I argued back by saying it isn't my duty to provide for him but instead got told to shut up because I didn't have a say in this. About a week later I got invited to a party. I tried to go in secret to not bring my brother, but in the end, got caught and was forced to bring him along. However, before this happened I texted everyone to draw horrible things on the photo we printed during school in case this happened, the horror on his face was satisfying payback. Note: EVERYONE hated him. Can I be put to blame here after he made my life at home horrible?

What's your end goal on bringing your child into this slavery world? To see them suffering with you growing up, then expect them to take care of you when you grow old? So I’m 14 weeks and a couple of days. I can’t remember with my first kid if my nausea was this bad. But if I eat, it’s like barf city. If I don’t eat, I’m fine. No nausea. It’s driving me nuts. I’ve been eating bland foods. Nothing greasy or too heavy. I don’t know what to do. My doctor suggested I try that b vitamin but that didn’t do anything either. I’ve been trying to keep hydrated. Anyone else going through this crap too? What have you done to help it?

I am a 21 F and life with an odd house arrange of my Mom (58) God Mom (59) let’s call her T for short and God Sister (F 22) let’s call her C, live in a four – bedroom two – level house and each have different jobs. This means our house can be a bit chaotic when we cross paths, as our schedules can be all over the place. About three months ago, I got a new full-time job as a caretaker. And while the job is different from anything I'm done before, the main difference is that as it being full time, my family can no longer complain that I know longer pull my wait around. It is okay if not a tiptoeing on a type rope balance of not trying to rock the boat with this new house arrangement. That is until a week ago, where out of the blue, T started to seem to be in a bad mood every day. T would come home and yell at the first person she would see, this would normally be C, her daughter. I would do my best to stay out of her way by going outside on walks, staying in my room or hiding in C’s to not get noticed. After a few days, I got sick of it and ended up staying down most of my night in my Mom’s room watching movies and eating small snacks to avoid and awkward dinner. Until mom wanted to go to bed. Not wanted to get any of T’s ire. Three days ago, my mom had an accident while walking a dog and tour her tendon which pulled a bone improper. Seeing my mom was in pain, I would try to go out of my way to make her feel better. This would include going on walks, giving her massages, and offering any stacks if she seemed hungry. This comes to about the question. We had been watching a TV show as a family when my mom had asked if I could help clean the food before I went to bed. Not seeming a problem with helping, I agreed, she went to bed and after an hour or so, I followed. Seeing that the kitchen was a mess, I put the hamburgers away and dumped the leftover food away and put the plates in the sink as the dishwasher had been running. I had left the corn out, assuming that C or T would do the last part, and was heading to my room when I got called again. C refused to help as she did dinner and T said that I didn’t finish cleaning the kitchen. This is where I may be the A hole. I pointed out I only offered to deal with the food and had no obligation to clean the whole kitchen. Pointing out, it wasn’t even that messy to start with. This is where T jumps on me for not finishing the kitchen. Saying that the dishes were dirty still. I pointed out I had yet to rinse them, as I had just thrown the food away. T then asked if the dishwasher was done, which had just finished at this point. I had responded that I would just leave the finishes and put the clean ones away in the morning. She got upset and said as a 21-year-old and I having a full-time job, Is hound be able to complete thing fully now. And while I pointed out that I did not agree to this, I was forced to clean the entire kitchen as well hear nasty comments about how I can’t do anything right. Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend with plenty of good food! Anyway, it’s my first time posting here so not really sure what to say.
I’m a nerd, through and through. Stream Magic the Gathering, binge watch anime, attend cons, play Pokémon, you name it, I’ve probably given it a shot. And that’s tough in the south, where the lifestyle is pretty looked down upon. So I guess I’m here looking for other nerds to nerd out with.
I’m not looking for some big romantic escape, I’m just looking for people to play apex or CoD with, hang out on discord, discuss shows and make recommendations, or just chat about their geeky hobbies. If that’s you, send over a message with a show or game recommendation!

 | I gave her 2 fries from McDonald's and immediately the next day she wouldn't eat, had bloody stool and threw up Alot. I waited 2 days to see if things would change but it got worse. They gave her 3 medications. 1 for diarrhea, 1 for nausea and a shot for her dehydration. After giving her the medications she is doing much better and back to her normal self. - Arrive to each session on time. Occasional lateness of 5-10 minutes is alright, but try not to make a habit of it.
- If you need to miss a session (which should be a rare occurrence), please let me know at least a day ahead of time whenever possible so I can try to find a substitute.
- Bring food. Pots are nice for enrage prog and reclears, but I won’t nitpick.
- Work on self-motivated improvement of your play. I’m looking for players who can identify where they make mistakes and are willing to work on them.
- Look over the mechanics for each boss before we begin progging it, and know what to do for at least 1-2 mechanics beyond our current prog point. You don’t need to be able to do them perfectly first try of course, but you should know what you need to do in theory for the different mechanic combinations.
- Have a positive attitude. Identifying why we wipe is important, but doing so in a toxic way that shames others is not helpful.
- Be willing to communicate. As mentioned above, understanding what we’re doing wrong or how we can adjust to be more consistent or successful is important. Being able to speak in voice chat is highly encouraged.

I want to list out all my symptoms in hopes that someone can give me insight on what I might be going through.
-post nasal drip every single morning (worst between 8am-10:15am like clockwork) this post nasal drip gets so bad that my voice gets affected and I’m constantly clearing my throat) -ear fullness in my right ear from 10:30am- 2ish pm every day like clock work -patulous ETD where the tube(s) get stuck open..this happens once or twice a week for seconds to minutes at a time. Random. I suspect it’s when I’m not drinking enough water.. which I do drink a lot of but I feel as though I have to drink double than the recommended amount bc of my issues) - all of these symptoms get worse when there’s cold weathe chilly wind/ or when it’s super hot. - it’s almost impossible for me to fly because of the intense pain in my inner ears- it feels like someone is stabbing my inner ears. If I take Sudafed it helps but only helps 80%. - when driving up hills or going up elevators… I feel pressure in my right ear that eventually goes back to normal in minutes. -did allergy test, I have a dustmite and mold allergy - I get jaw popping occasionally - I suspect I might have silent reflux I am working on eating more nutrient dense foods, exercising more and MOST importantly.. reducing stress. I’ve seen a 20% improvement over the past few months but maybe it’ll take a long time to heal? I don’t take any meds rn. These symptoms are chronic and it’s been like this for the majority of my life I’ll take any tips and tricks!! Please!

The first two injections were awesome. I had great appetite suppression, and no other symptoms. The 3rd week, I was super hungry and felt like it wasn’t as strong. The 4th week, same thing. I pretty much lost the 10 pounds within the first 2 weeks. I haven’t lost but maybe a pound or two in a week and a half.
I have cut majority of everything out from my diet. The food noise is killing me, and I want it go back to the first two weeks. Should I move up to 5mg?

I've been doing BLW since 6 months and my 9.5mo girl is a great eater so far. Sometimes it is shocking how much she can take down in a meal. It is so so satisfying to me to watch her enjoy food.
My parents on the other hand...they enjoy it as well but recently my mom has started making a lot of comments about how chubby and round she's getting (and not in a good way). When I was younger she was crazy about my weight to the point where I would hide food all through middle school / high school (also I was never really overweight, I am 5'2" and never got about 120lbs except when preggers...but my mom is 5'0" and <100lbs sooo yeah).
Even my dad has gotten in on the action and usually he's pretty chill. Tonight he texted me "You'll hate this, but I think you need to watch out for infant obesity which often occurs at the time when solid food is being introduced to the baby."
LO is not getting any sugar except for what's in fruit (though my mom thinks people get fat from eating too much fruit...). She has plenty of veggies along with protein and carbs.. basically a balanced diet.
I don't really know where I'm going with this, I guess just ranting.

My wife and I came specifically for the fireworks and every CM we interacted with was amazing! I’m a hobbyist photographer and I asked a few of the Disney photographers if they would be able to take pictures of my wife and I with my camera and they were very excited to help, even when I had to walk them through the differences between my gear and what they use day-to-day.
Prime lenses can be a struggle!
Pecos Bill’s was awesome today. Might be because we were ravenously hungry, but those chicken tacos and Barqs root-beer hit the spot.
Everything Disney-wise was amazing - special thanks to Bill in the Emporium for helping us find a specific pin. Above and beyond, sir!
Even the other guests during the fireworks were better than expected. Sure the tall guys kept walking in front of us, but other tall people saw my shorter wife and offered her space to stand. Again, above and beyond from guests. Most of you are AMAZING and I think I got some decent photos. We’ll see!
However, I had one extremely surprising encounter with a small guest and one WTF experience with an elderly guest.
The first one was while I was waiting for the ferry. I was talking to my wife and I felt a tiny hand slide under the front of my t-shirt and quickly latch over my belt buckle and into pants, little fingernails scratching on my skin. I jumped back and pulled a 5 or 6 year old boy with me and earned a dirty look from the mom when he nearly sprawled on the ground.
Saying that I was quite surprised would be an understatement.
After boarding the ferry I encountered the WORST GUEST EVER in the form of a ranting, vile, elderly woman that should probably never leave her house, let alone go to a place with children around.
What started her rant? She couldn’t find a Goofy shirt that she liked and there were “too many ——— rainbows”. Assume the worst things you can imagine following that start and it will probably be less vile than what she was saying.
A gentleman with his family - wife and two young ones - very politely said “ma’am” and then just nodded his head toward his kids and she was silent for a moment, but then her rant just got quieter and became about their race until I said “ma’am?” and gave her the what-are-you-doing shrug.
I was going to approach a CM about it, but the old lady was lost in the unloading crowd and the CMs were busy with end of day stuff. Honestly, I’m just not sure how I should deal with situations like that at the parks in the future.
I do not understand why some people think that being disgusting is appropriate, but I’m thankful for this community. It lets me know that it’s mostly welcoming and cool people at the parks.
