I was thinking about that post lamenting Velkoz being forced to support so it got me thinking what wild idea could be done to his kit to give him a niche.
There really isn't a reason to pick Velkoz over the other artillery mages: - Lux brings utility in shields and root, and can nuke with her ult if an enemy stands still, good support. - Xerath can max his poke/waveclear in one ability, sustain his mana and has a high range ult for map presence.
- Ziggs has tower sieging and stalling. - Zoe has high pick potential, and long range hard CC that can turn a fight.
And what does Velkoz have? Just true damage. He's never really seen much pro play. So in order to give him a unique niche I propose he be the debuff/vision artillery mage, with one of the longest lasting debuffs in the game.
Passive - Organic Deconstruction now has 6 stacks, each stack researches the enemy, globally revealing them for 5 seconds, stacking up to 6 for a total reveal duration of 30 seconds. Upon reaching max stacks the enemy becomes deconstructed, taking true damage from all of Velkoz's abilities, and reduces their damage dealt to Velkoz by 25% and increases all damage taken from Velkoz by 25%. (Scaling with level, numbers are whack and made up)
Recalling to fountain clears deconstruction, but not vision from being researched. Once the enemy has been fully researched they cannot have research be refreshed until the debuff times out. Research can be cleansed/cleared.
W and E no longer apply passive stacks. QWER Damage down.
Q - Plasma Fission now grants vision in a small area as it flies, direct hits on enemies apply 1 Organic Deconstruction stack, enemies hit by the split bolts receive 2 stacks.
W - Void Rift No longer a projectile, grants vision in cast area. Does not apply or refresh passive.
E - Tectonic Disruption Travels faster, no longer fizzles on death, knocks enemies away from current position. Does not apply or refresh passive
R - Lifeform Disintegration Ray Slightly longer range, slow increases drastically the closer the enemy is to velkoz, faster turn speed towards deconstructed targets. Now grants vision. Applies passive stacks at a much slower interval.
Now Velkoz is more heavily rewarded for landing the tricky geometry shots on enemies at long range. If enemies keep getting hit by Velkoz's Q, they will find themselves stuck being globally revealed to enemies, and if they reach max stacks they will be slapped with an ARAM esque damage debuff and Velkoz will be at a great advantage with all his abilities now dealing true damage.
The tradeoff is his abilities deal much less burst damage up front on non deconstructed targets.
I thought about what Velkoz could do to counter enemies roaming from mid, he couldent follow them or he would die and he cant really push up without making himself vulnerable. So instead he makes it very difficult for the enemy to roam by keeping them in constant vision.
In lane against assassins and other mobile burst threats, a good velkoz landing his split Q's and keeping the enemy deconstructed can keep himself safer from their all in burst, while also returning his damage output from easily healed scratch damage to an actual kill threat.
Junglers would have to be careful ganking Velkoz as they could leave being revealed, making their jungle pathing and future ganks unsafe.
Velkoz would be very strong against enemies he has deconstructed, the damage amp combined with true damage would turn him into a big threat while the damage reduction would prevent all those highly mobile champions from just all inning and facerolling him as easy.
Velkoz could also periodically apply his passive to the Dragon to keep watch over it, in a way that cant be swept by the enemy. Or apply his passive to jungle monsters to keep tabs on them.
Later in the game the threat of his Q doesent come from it chunking an ADC to half health, it comes from sticking long lasting global vision onto enemies.
There's a bunch of different ways his deconstruction could debuff the enemy aswell instead or in addition to the ARAM style buff, it could: - Give him CC immunity vs his deconstructed target - Cut the opponents stats (AD/AP, Movespeed, Tenacity) - Cause his abilities to ground the enemy - Refresh his ultimate's channel duration on hit
I realize this idea is broken in many ways, but I was inspired seeing riot turn aurelion sol, one of the clunkiest and low playrate champs, into a balance nightmare. I kinda missed the long lasting DoT that old mordekaisers ultimate had so I wanted to bring back another long lasting debuff into league. Numbers are made up and heavily subject to being changed to be less crazy. (Except the vision duration >o)
What do you guys think? Would revealing the enemy Katarina in mid prevent her from roaming bot to grab 2 free kills or would botlane just die anyways?

Hey, guys. I'm stuck with one issue. I have two scenes: menu and the actual game. The problem occurs when I return to main menu from game. Persistent singleton Level Manager loads scenes. On Awake it tries to bind to some UI elements. I know that Awake is called even for persistent objects upon level load (proven by logs). The strange thing is that after return to main menu in debugger I can see that all references are bound successfully and valid, but right after I continue the program flow I see in Inspector that these references have become missing(!).

The only possible hypothesis I have is that chronology: all objects in menu scene are loaded -> Awake is called for LevelManager -> Everything is fine -> All non-persistent objects get destroyed ??? -> All scene objects are instantiated once again. I'm pretty sure that nothing interferes with those references after Awake and the singleton class is really basic.

With the current news about the LCS walk-out and the future of NA esports, I wanted to offer what I think could somewhat address the skill disparity between NA and other regions, and it is to bring in FULLY customizable custom games. When I say fully, I mean being able to load a custom game with:
· Any start time (30 mins)
· Any start location for the 10 champions
· Any EXP level
· Any gold
· Any items
· Any current cooldowns
· Any death timers
· Etc…
Essentially, the ability to load into ANY MOMENT of a game and start from there. Why do I think this would help NA? Because this aligns with recent NA discourse about quality over quantity when it comes to practice.
We have seen pro players like Licorice who would rather spend time practicing 1v1’s than grinding soloq. And with the creation of champions queue, it has been popular to shame pro players for not utilizing it as much as fans would have hoped. Instead of demanding pros to grind harder to catch up to other regions, fully customizable games would truly allow teams to train smart, not hard.
Imagine in soccer, if the goalkeeper could only practice saving shots during 90-minute long games. This is how baron takes feel like right now. Just like how goalkeepers get drilled with hundreds of shots during practice, teams ought to be able to practice their baron setups.
And in VALORANT custom games, its possible to give teams full credits every round, thereby always practicing full gun rounds executes. If it wasn’t possible to max credits, teams would inevitably have to play eco rounds, which is inefficient if practicing eco rounds isn’t their focus. Of course, if teams want to practice eco rounds, more power to them. If teams want to play 20 pistol rounds, they can do that too.
League of Legends needs comprehensive practice tools to support whatever practice regimen teams want to implement. But unfortunately, the current system favors non-stop grind culture that favors eastern teams and larger playerbases with prodigies that can thrive with inefficient tools.

The Problem (TLDR at end): The problem began (with my old motherboard) where my computer seemingly randomly turned off and was unable to POST when powered on, with the case / gpu fans seeming fine. This ended with me trying the computer bare bones, outside of the case, with only the CPU, it’s two power cables, ATX cable, RAM, and CPU cooler connected. Though this was unsuccessful. Thinking it may be a motherboard problem, I ordered the new one, updated the BIOS to the latest, and tried it again, successfully.
The computer worked more or less fine for a few days with only intermittent complete non-responsiveness of individual windows. After the few days however, the computer got to the point where upon booting up the computer only ran for a few seconds in the login screen before the display froze. This similarly happened if I tried to boot to a recovery windows 10 USB. Thinking it may be a GPU issue since the display was freezing, I opened the computer (unplugging it of course) and removed and replaced the GPU and it’s two PCIE cables. Once I plugged the computer back in however, the EZ-Debug CPU light glowed red as it does now, and I have been unable to get the system to POST even after trying to run it barebones again as I did before. Additionally, I have tried swapping the RAM kit to a different set with zero success.
TLDR: Computer randomly turned off with first motherboard, refused to POST with CPU debug on even when barebones and having tried different set of RAM. New motherboard works fine(ish) for a few days until it begins freezing completely a few seconds into windows being started (login screen). I try to fix by unplugging and replugging the GPU, only leading to the same problem has I had before. Removing / adding GPU changes nothing
I’m assuming at this point I need to replace another part, but wanted opinions on which it likely is, CPU or PSU, and if PSU, if I might need to get another motherboard if it broke something on the new one. Please let me know if y’all need any additional information I forgot to provide, and I thank you all in advance for any input you can provide <3

I am currently using Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo. DP plugged into my main PC. And trying to use the hdmi 2.1 to connect to my Macbook Pro 16inch M1 Pro.
I was only able to get the 5120 x 1080 with blurry screen so read few posts and tried the SwitchResX but had no luck with it.
What I at least want to do is utilize my Caldigit USB-C HDMI DOCK to connect 2 hdmi cables from Neo G9 to the dock and then dock to the macbook pro via usb-c cable so I can have PBP and achieve 120hz dual monitors on my G9.
But when I tried it, it only shows one screen. It wasn't the cable issue, I am using the 2.1 Ultra High Speed Certified cable 48gbps. and I tried swithing one side of hdmi to the other but only displays one side.
It works when I connect the second hdmi to directly to the macbook and have another hdmi -> dock -> usb-c -> macbook. But this is a bit of mess...
Can I have any experts help me out?

I have tried extensively to run a file onto a new system I bought recently and it is extremely slow and get stuck on opening it. The pc has the following specs:
Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro RAM: 128 GB GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090
I have tried to format Cinema4D to utilize to my GPU instead of utilizing my CPU but the system is not even recognizing the change either as I monitor it through task manager. Any help would do wonders.

I've had a Samsung 980 Pro for 18 months. Today I read about the critical firmware update recommended by Samsung (via Samsung Magician) and the whole fiasco around dying 980 pros in general. Lo and behold, I have firmware 3B2QGXA7 on mine, which is the exact vulnerable firmware. I update to 5B2QGXA7 (latest) and all goes well, I restart my pc and go about my business.
2 hours later my pc freezes, though animations (waiting circle and mouse animation) still play out. I'm thinking oh no, the disk has gone read-only. I force a reboot and the BIOS won't see the NVME as a bootable drive anymore.
I load up Ubuntu through a persistent live USB and I was able to extract all vital data because the SSD is still mounted and understood by Ubuntu as a read-only drive. All's well, I had backups too.
From the live Ubuntu environment, GParted throws a lot of errors when scanning the disk (because its unable to write to it). In specific, I see 4 partitions on my nvme: partition 0: (EFI system partition: Unable to read the contents of this file system! Because of this some operations may be unavailable. The cause might be a missing software package. The following list of software packages is required for fat32 file system support: dosfstools, mtools.) partition 1: (Microsoft Reserved Partition - Unable to detect file system! Possible reasons are: > The file system is damaged >The file system is unknown to GParted >There is no file system available (unformatted) >The device entry /dev/nvme0n1p2 is missing partition 2: Basic data partition - Critical Error 0x09 which when googling comes to a raised Read-only flag partition 3: is unused, only 500MiBs.
Anything I can do to revive the disk or is a 0x09 flag permanent? I can experiment with it freely, I've saved all I wanted from that disk.

Hi all, my studio produces somewhere around 80 podcasts a month and I have a very streamlined edit process with templates that I've done every week for 3 years. Live has been extremely snappy and responsive with zero crashes this whole time. Suddenly today, Live has been extremely sluggish, becoming totally unresponsive about every 2 minutes and it even crashed for the first time this morning.
My template includes 5 audio tracks with a gate on each going into a group with some basic dynamics and EQ processing, then a master with a limiter and some meters. Each set has 4-6 30 minute episodes. This is all unchanged from last week.
Task Manager shows very normal looking numbers for resource utilization (around 10% CPU, a few GB of RAM, and basically no GPU) and my media files are all on a high performance NAS with 10Gb networking. Other software like Resolve works perfectly fine. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

Hi Everyone, I started getting into PCC building as a young teen, slowly upgrading parts. I have now just finished my Masters degree at university with the same PC (having replaced every single part apart from case and fans). Recently (around January) I upgraded my motherboard and CPU (specs at bottom of post). This worked perfectly for a few months, and I've only recently been having problems. Games started to crash: Elden Ring, Fifa 23, CK3. I thought maybe this was just poorly optimisation of new dlc/ EA jank. Then my girlfriend started playing sims 4, and that began to crash. Following this I have bought a new power supply, and this fixed issues for elden ring. However, some crashes persisted so I did a full system restore. Crashes continued. So, I checked for overheating, Cinebench showed 100 degree celcius package temperature, thermal throttling and 100% cpu utilization within seconds. So I did a full dusting and reapplied the thermal paste on the CPU. Additionaly, I went into the Bios to confirm that it recognised the CPU as a tower cooler, and set a stricter cooling curve. (100% at 70 degrees. This stopped the crashing, however HwInfo still shows very high temperatures while playing games. Despite base temperatures being good (40 Degrees, CPU) (55 Degrees, GPU) HwInfo logs show, After a game of fifa the CPU started averaging mid 80's, similar with the GPU. After an hour or so of my girlfriend playing the sims GPU started averaging high 70 degrees Celcius. At this point I am completely stumped, I was thinking maybe the fan simply isn't powerful enough for the CPU, however if this is the case why is the GPU also overheating. I have attached an image for airflow experts to give advice, the one back fan and two front fans are both facing the same direction (back to front). Any advice would be so appreciated, very much needing help at this point. (I live in the North of England, so its definitely not general heat issues) Specs Below Motherboard- MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4

im playing on steamdeck and its been crashing everytime i die, it also sometimes happens randomly.
and i hate to be that guy that just posts crashlogs but i tried to read it and none of it makes sense, i have been able to find out that its a render issue though
