2023.06.09 23:41 DisgorgeVEVO PKA 650 Summary
Incase you missed it but can’t wait four hours for the next episode, here’s a summary of PKA 650.
Show starts of light hearted, Kyle calls out the entirety of Australia for their war crime and then gatekeeps Woody out of Star Trek. All three hosts attempt to recall the split of Sophie’s choice, only Wikipedia was right. Kyle is sincerely amazed by the number of black people in Baltimore. After that they put a phone up to one of their mics and played back the Fishtank bit from PKN. Bold but I guess it’s good for people that missed that episode. After that they watched a video of an old guy falling then went to admiring left wing politicians. I don’t remember what they said after that but Kyle dropped his subreddit of the week.
Taylor ends up dropping so massive new, he no longer has his dogs. Kyle then proceeds to talk about how much he loves his dogs for ten minutes. Later on, Woody hits us with the best bit in PKA history: he bought Sony Vegas like ten years ago. Trust me, you had to be there. The Sony Vegas but will go down in PKA history.
After that he talked about how he doesn’t understand Chocolate Thunder’s zoomer slang. Those bits are cringe but I genuinely love them, shit sends me fam. Just slaps frfr on god no cap that bit bussin, hits different iykyk. I do love how Kyle only knows “GOATed with the sauce.” Cracks me up. He’s said that for years and still hasn’t googled it. After that we are treated to some Ukraine talk. History talk snuck in there too. I learned Rome had a such a strong army because of their roads but also because of their army. At some point Woody hits us with his signature “you’re just making up words.” Classic. Oh, and there was actually a ton of TV talk this week. That Kyle guy in the lop left is apparently watching some television shows. Solid episode.

2023.06.09 23:40 stoneswag 32M Been having a tough time lately and would enjoy meeting new friends
The older I get, the more I realize it is harder to make friends irl than it was on my early 20s. While I do have friends and family irl, it's not always easy to talk with our busy schedules and that's a bummer. I figured there are others going through something similar, or simply needing a friend and using reddit would be a great way to find someone to talk to on a consist basis.
I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, baseball, football, golf, video games, cozy nights, exploring outside with my dog, Star Wars, documentaries and TV series.
If you're needing a friend, someone to listen, a person to vent to, silly or serious conversations etc., hopefully we can connect and have a genuine friendship!

2023.06.09 23:39 manuscritch Better Duplicate Protection/Improve Ultimus Orbs
The duplicate protection in this game is, to be frank, atrocious. While other games will refund you the entire price of duplicates or have systems in place that remove duplicates from the draw pool, the extent of MSF character duplication protection is the Ultimus orb. With it, you need 2000 Ultimus Orb Shards to get one orb that gives around 5 character shards with some stipulations I'll get into. In order to get 2000 Ultimus Orb Shards you need to accumulate around 150 duplicate character shards, or about 20% of a full rank character. That already is a terrible exchange rate, made worse when you do get enough shards and pull down a duplicate character again; which exponentially reduces the value of all the duplicate shards you already used to get the pull in the first place.
A further issue is that the character the orb is named for is a supremely outdated character that doesn't feel bad to pull anyway. Ultimus is yet one of many characters in this game that has been power crept out of use and getting him to max rank feels like an opportunity to improve his power and more like a chance to get a little bit of a discount on the orbs (with at least 2 shards guaranteed to be duplicates). And with the hope of Star Force team or any rework really out the window on the character for the foreseeable future, it feels even worse to get his shards. But this isn't meant to be a rank/complaint post but a suggestion post for the CMs and Devs, so I have a few recommendations.
1) Better exchange rate for character shards: As mentioned at the top, the exchange rate of character shards to Ultimus Orb Shards is abysmal. Getting about 25 shards character shards out of the over duplicates 800 needed to earn enough for an orb makes the whole experience feel bad. Increasing the amount of Ultimus Orb Shards given from duplicates and/or reducing the amount needed for an Ultimus Orb would be the easiest, though still not great, remedy to the problem.
2) Changing the banner character: Opening orbs and seeing that Purple or Gold drop coming down should feel exciting and should invoke positive feeling in relation to the rarity of the event. Ultimus orbs feel like the exact opposite. For most players, when pulling on the Ultimus orb and seeing that 1% drop come down is the worst feeling because either they have maxed him already or simply don't want the character because he does little to help them progress. Renaming the orbs to something not tied to a single character and having improved drop rates for the newer, meta characters and putting their high shard drops as the rare ones would go a long way to fixing this. Otherwise, having a rotating character, team, or theme that changes each patch could also fix this.
3) Actual duplicate protection in the orbs: This would probably be the more technically complicated solution for the devs, but other games have this in place. When you open an orb, the client checks what characters you have in your roster that are not at max rank and limits the pool of characters in the orb to only those ones (with exceptions for things like Legendary or DD characters). This would probably be the best solution and make the achievement of collecting all the duplicate shards needed for the orb feel more rewarding at the end and less like you are just endlessly throwing your shards into the void.
4) Rework the Ultimus Orb Shard store: Another option would be just to do away with the orbs entirely and turn Ultimus Orb Shards into a currency we can use for directly buying character shards, gear, ISO, etc. Set the Ultimus tab up similar to how the other store tabs are with a rotating selection that changes each reset. But eliminating the rng element of pulling for character shards and putting more control in the players' hands on would go a long way in making the Ultimus shards feel more meaningful.
5) More orb types: In addition to or maybe even instead of the other suggestions, at least updating the orb selections we have to choose from in the store to be better than what we have now. As it stands, if you aren't using Ultimus Orb Shards on character shards, the only other options on what to spend them on are gear and these are severely outdated. Gear orbs only go up to G15 and when we are now on G18 there really is no reason why we shouldn't have G16 and G17 orbs available.
I know that this is probably a pointless post that is mostly just speaking into the void, but it is just something that I wanted to get off my chest but in a positive and constructive way. Hopefully it resonates with some other folks. Ideally, I'd love to see something like a Starforce team with some reworks that makes Ultimus feel good to own, but with the devs saying that they are moving away from character reworks it just makes him feel even worse to continually get shards for, especially on those Purple and Gold drops.

Hey! Names Chris, from good ol north carolina. As the title says, im pretty introverted when first meeting people or talking to them. I love to read and play video games (currently on a pokemon and star wars binge). About myself, im half hispanic but fairly white looking, a bit over 5’11, and a bit on the chubbier side. I also play rugby and I am a rising freshman in college. This is also open to anyone anywhere. I do want a serious relationship out of this if possible.
As for you, I’m generally into introverts or incredibly nerdy girls, with emphasis on cuddling and/or clinginess being a plus. Age wise, I’m not too picky as long as you aren’t a fossil or in your 40s/ late 30s. Please note that these aren’t hard requirements however. Same goes for distance, as im am willing to do a LDR with the expectation that we will meet in a reasonable amount of time.
See ya!

2023.06.09 23:36 Originalgametag Chatgpt story using starfield lore
Just posted but it didn't upload or was taken down. I've seen this done before for a different game but I figured I'd give chat gpt the known starfield lore and ask it to right a first chapter. Tried two different prompts:
User Write the first chapter of a story using this lore: The entirety of Starfield takes place in the Settled Systems, which is a section of the Milky Way about 50 light-years from Earth's solar system. The year is 2330, a little over three hundred years from now. It's not clear when humans began to settle space and form the factions that make up the Settled Systems, but 20 years prior to the start of the game, all was not particularly well.
In 2310, the Freestar Collective and the United Colonies had a massive conflict that came to be known as the Colony Wars. This conflict has been loosely compared to the war between the Imperials and Stormcloaks in Skyrim; although the Colony Wars are in the past, the Settled Systems is still feeling the repercussions. When the game begins, the game world is in a period of tentative peace, but it's probably safe to assume that this won't last for long.
It's unclear what the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective were fighting over, but the Colony Wars are one of the biggest pieces of Starfield lore so far. The world's history will have a huge impact on how characters from different factions interact with each other and in most cases, probably don't trust one another.
ChatGPT Chapter 1: Shadows of the Past
The year was 2330, and the Settled Systems were finally beginning to catch their breath after the devastating Colony Wars that had ravaged the region. In the vast expanse of the Milky Way, about 50 light-years from Earth's solar system, factions had formed and tensions simmered beneath the fragile veneer of peace. The scars of the conflict still ran deep, etched into the very fabric of society.
No one could truly pinpoint the exact cause of the Colony Wars. It was a clash between the Freestar Collective and the United Colonies, two formidable factions vying for control and dominance. Some whispered that it was a battle for resources, while others believed it to be a struggle for ideological supremacy. But in the end, the specifics mattered little to those caught in the crossfire.
The war had been brutal, marked by fierce battles and devastating losses on both sides. Countless lives had been sacrificed, worlds reduced to smoldering ruins. The echoes of that conflict still reverberated through the Settled Systems, a haunting reminder of the cost of unchecked ambition and unbridled aggression.
But now, two decades later, a tentative peace had settled upon the starry expanse. The wounds were healing, though the scars remained. Interstellar trade routes were reopening, and societies were beginning to rebuild their shattered foundations. The threat of open warfare had receded, yet few dared to believe that the peace would endure.
The Settled Systems were a patchwork of worlds, each aligned with one of the factions that had emerged from the chaos of the Colony Wars. The Freestar Collective, a loose alliance of independent colonies and renegades, stood in stark contrast to the United Colonies, a more structured and centralized power. Animosity lingered between these factions, fueled by the memories of bloodshed and betrayal.
It was in this fragile climate that our story begins, on the outskirts of a forgotten settlement on the edge of civilization. The air crackled with tension as the sun set, casting long shadows over the worn buildings and dusty streets. A lone figure stood at the crossroads, his weathered face etched with lines of experience and loss.
Jax Brennigan was a relic of the Colony Wars, a survivor who had witnessed the darkest depths of humanity. He had fought alongside the Freestar Collective, driven by a desire for freedom and the hope of a better future. But the war had changed him, leaving scars that ran far deeper than the physical wounds that marked his body.
As he gazed into the fading light, memories flooded Jax's mind—images of battle, the cries of the fallen, and the bitter taste of defeat. He knew that the peace was fragile, a mere illusion that could shatter at any moment. The factions may have ceased open hostilities, but the distrust and animosity remained.
Jax had spent years trying to find his place in this post-war world, seeking solace in the quiet corners of the Settled Systems. Yet, the shadows of the past continued to haunt him, refusing to let him forget the horrors he had witnessed. He had seen the best and worst of humanity, and he knew that true peace was an elusive dream.
With a heavy sigh, Jax turned his gaze towards the stars, their distant shimmer a reminder of the vast unknown that lay beyond. He knew that his journey was far from over, that destiny still called him to navigate the treacherous currents of the Settled Systems. The factions may never fully trust one another, but perhaps, in the face of the looming unknown, they could find common ground.
As the night sky enveloped him in its embrace, Jax steeled himself for the challenges that lay ahead
User Use that lore to write the first chapter of a book but make the main character a miner who discovered a rare artifact to start the story off.
ChatGPT Chapter 1: The Unearthed Legacy
The year was 2330, and in the Settled Systems, a delicate peace prevailed. The Colony Wars had scarred the region, leaving behind a landscape of distrust and tension. But amidst the remnants of conflict, life continued, and the pursuit of opportunity remained a driving force for many.
In the heart of an asteroid belt, where miners toiled in search of precious resources, a lone figure named Jonas Hartigan chiseled away at the rocky surface. He was a seasoned miner, his rugged hands weathered by years of labor in the unforgiving depths of space. For Jonas, the thrill of discovering something rare and valuable was a distant dream—a whisper carried on the solar winds.
But fate had a way of unveiling its secrets when least expected.
As Jonas swung his pickaxe into the dense asteroid, a resounding crack echoed through the void. He paused, his heart racing with anticipation, as if he had stumbled upon something more than just rock and ore. With meticulous care, he chipped away at the debris, revealing a glimmering metallic surface beneath.
A rush of excitement surged through Jonas's veins as he unveiled the hidden artifact—a small, intricately crafted device, unlike anything he had ever seen. It pulsated with an ethereal blue glow, casting an otherworldly aura upon the mining vessel's dimly lit interior. Its delicate engravings hinted at a forgotten legacy, a tale waiting to be unraveled.
Jonas held the artifact in his hands, feeling its weight and power. He could sense that it held significance beyond its material value. The Colony Wars had left the Settled Systems scarred, but this artifact, he believed, could hold the key to understanding the conflict and the factions that had torn the region apart.
As news of Jonas's discovery spread through the mining colony, whispers of intrigue and curiosity filled the air. Miners and settlers alike gathered around him, their eyes wide with wonder, as he recounted the tale of the artifact's unearthing. The Freestar Collective and the United Colonies, once bitter adversaries, now shared a common interest—the desire to decipher the mysteries held within the artifact.
Representatives from both factions arrived in the mining colony, each seeking to claim the artifact for their own purposes. Jonas found himself caught in the crosshairs of their competing agendas, uncertain whom to trust in this treacherous landscape of politics and power.
He knew that the artifact was more than just a trinket; it was a catalyst, capable of reigniting the dormant tensions that had defined the Colony Wars. The fate of the Settled Systems hung in the balance, and Jonas, an unwitting miner thrust into a world of intrigue and danger, held the key to it all.
As the factions jostled for control, Jonas made a decision—to embark on a journey of discovery, one that would take him deep into the heart of the Settled Systems, where the truths of the past lay hidden. With the artifact clutched tightly in his hand, he vowed to unlock its secrets and unearth the legacy that had shaped their turbulent present.
Amidst the remnants of conflict and the lingering echoes of war, Jonas Hartigan would become a reluctant hero—a miner turned seeker of truth, venturing into the unknown, driven by the hope that the revelations he unearthed would guide the Settled Systems toward a lasting peace.
And so, with determination etched upon his face, Jonas set his sights on the horizon, where starlight mingled with shadows, and the fate of worlds awaited his discovery.
User Write chapter two
ChatGPT Chapter 2: Shadows of Betrayal
The hum of the spacecraft's engines reverberated through the cabin as Jonas sat in the pilot's seat, his grip firm on the artifact that had ignited a fire within him. He had chosen a small, inconspicuous vessel for his journey—a ship that could navigate the labyrinthine reaches of the Settled Systems without drawing unwanted attention.
As the stars streaked past the viewport, Jonas couldn't shake the feeling of unease that clung to him like a shadow. He had become an unwitting pawn in the power struggle between the Freestar Collective and the United Colonies, and he knew that danger lurked in every corner of the vast expanse of space he now traversed.
His destination was a remote outpost on the fringes of the Settled Systems—a place rumored to harbor individuals who had once been intimately involved in the Colony Wars. If anyone could shed light on the artifact and the secrets it held, it would be those who had borne witness to the conflict firsthand.
The outpost came into view, a solitary structure nestled amidst the desolation of a barren moon. As Jonas touched down, his pulse quickened, anticipation mingled with trepidation. He stepped out onto the lunar surface, the crunch of dust beneath his boots a reminder of the isolated world he had entered.
The outpost's interior was dimly lit, its corridors winding and labyrinthine. Conversations in hushed tones filled the air, the occupants casting wary glances at the stranger who had ventured into their midst. It was a motley crew, a collection of individuals scarred by war and defined by their allegiances.
Jonas approached a weathered figure, a man whose eyes carried the weight of untold stories. "I seek knowledge," he began, his voice steady but laced with a hint of vulnerability. "I have something that may hold answers, but I need guidance."
The man regarded him with a mixture of curiosity and caution. "You think you can find answers here? The Settled Systems are a graveyard of secrets, young one."
Jonas nodded, his resolve unwavering. "I have come this far. I am willing to take the risks."
The man studied Jonas for a moment before motioning him to follow. They wound their way through the labyrinth of corridors, arriving at a dimly lit chamber. The room was filled with holo-projectors displaying fragments of history—images of battles, faces of fallen comrades, and the destruction wrought upon once-thriving worlds.
"This is the truth you seek," the man said, his voice heavy with the weight of memory. "The Colony Wars were not simply a clash of factions. They were a clash of ideals, of aspirations, and of the very essence of humanity."
Jonas's eyes scanned the holographic display, the images searing into his mind. The conflicts were brutal, the devastation unimaginable. He saw the Freestar Collective fighting for independence, driven by a desire for freedom from the United Colonies' perceived oppression. The United Colonies, in turn, fought to maintain control, to safeguard their vision of unity and order.
But within the chaos of battle, alliances shifted, betrayals unfolded, and innocents paid the price. The Colony Wars had been a confluence of ambition, greed, and the thirst for power—factors that transcended the superficial divisions of factions.
As Jonas absorbed the truth before him, he realized that the artifact he carried was not merely a key to understanding the past—it was a catalyst for change. It held the potential to bridge the gaps that divided the Settled Systems, to forge a new path forward, away from the shadows of war and mistrust.

2023.06.09 23:35 WhatABunchofBologna Anybody else warming up to the Summer Game Fest clip?
When I first saw it I kinda got whiplash from Sweet Tooth singing the Thong Song and all that, but after watching it multiple times I found myself kinda liking it? I was wondering if anybody else felt the same way.
I definitely do understand the criticism behind how Sweet Tooth was portrayed, especially since his character has been pretty consistent since 2001, but the sillier Sweet Tooth kind of reminds me of his portrayal in PlayStation All-Stars and Twisted Metal 1995.
One thing I do agree with though is that they should’ve shown this clip after a full trailer release. Some people are writing off the show completely because of it and while I don’t blame them for not liking it, writing something off completely because of a clip doesn’t make as much sense as doing so because of a trailer. Here’s hoping we get one soon so we can get a final consensus on the fanbase’s thoughts before the show releases.

| Director: Deborah Snyder Explanations Superman: Henry Cavill- the one and only Wonder Woman: Gina Cardando- A fighter in the sphere of ideas and in the war against the “tolerant” left, and a fighter against villins such as Ares and the Cheater. Batman: Chris Evans- Captain America didn’t have powers which sort of made him the Batman of the avengers. Plus, Chris Evans is extremely supportive of the military industrial complex and the CIA, just like I always have been and always will be. Hal Jordan: Glen Powell- Really the only interesting Green Lantern, and I liked him in top gun where he wasn’t really acting but he’s a handsome white guy so he should play every superhero. Barry Allen: Ryan Reynolds- Really the only interesting The Flash, and Ryan Reynolds is the action star of our time like in the movie Free Guy or one of those Netflix action movies that apparently people watch like the one with Gal Gadot, a member of the heroic IDF. Aquaman: Tom Cruz- I mean, what can you say? He’s a hero off screen like Christopher Reese, helping the Church of Scientology ascend tons of souls to heaven or some bullshit like that and he’s definitely not complicit in systemic sexual abuse so it’s ridiculous that you even brought that up. Shut up. Right now. Martian Manhunter: Jesse Heisenberg- Controversial of course because who he should really be playing is Luthor. But if Netflix won’t buy the Snyder verse which is totally different IP than the characters Warner bros owns (uj/ best argument Snyder bros ever made was accidentally confirming that the Snyder versions of the characters aren’t anything close to the real versions), the choice for J’ohn John’s is clear. 2023.06.09 23:27 Girl-Incognit0 Just saw Cursed Child in London
| First, don’t bother with the book, it’s awful. The play however, seen on stage in its intended format… has been the best theatrical experience of my life! I just left part 2 of the show an hour ago and I’m still filled with so much joy and wonder and happiness. The first time I saw it was during previews, a week before it opened to the public in London. It blew my mind back then. Today, my kids are a little older (teenagers) and the ways in which I found myself empathizing with and understanding Harry was astounding. I saw his character in a new light this time around. I laughed a lot, I cried a little, I was shocked all over again (because I had forgotten some things) and I was genuinely touched during so many parts of this play. It was absolutely beautiful. FYI for anyone with plans to see it, only London still has the show in 2 parts. Apparently the rest of the world has condensed it down a little into one part. I’m not sure about what all was cut, but one of the attendants told me they know some dream sequences and an entire character was cut out (I won’t spoil which one). For those that saw it before last October, there have been some small changes in London since then. I noticed the differences from my first visit and another attendant told me they made some small changes last October to more closely match the other cities one part show. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the amazing performance’s and the production value. Even the writing felt right when put into the right context. 5 stars! submitted by Girl-Incognit0 to harrypotter [link] [comments] |
