When I was very young, I had recurring dreams of boarding a ship with a group of beings dressed in black and white clothing. The dream was always the same, I'd wake up, notice the light, then suddenly I was outside. I would look at the beings on a sort of dock that was connected to a disc shaped craft, and the last thing I remember is watching my roof get smaller as we ascended.
I can't recall faces at all, but when I was three or four, I felt like they reminded me of penguins.
As we flew up and away from my house, I'd still be standing on the dock. I would always wake up before we closed anything up.
Anything beyond this has been blocked. I never felt malice from these beings, but at some point when I was around 7 or 8, I woke up frightened from this recurring dream, and never had one again.
I've heard from various hypnosis sessions that friendly beings that visit will start blocking your memories if you become frightened, but they will continue to visit for whatever reason they started visiting in the first place.
I feel like these dudes probably know me, and mean no harm. I never got a bad vibe from them, even when I woke up scared. The last one I had was the first time my mind made a connection between my dream and the abduction phenomenon, and it spooked me a bit.
If it helps, I'm certain they're not greys, and I think they were under 5 feet tall. The dreams happened more when I was younger and decreased in frequency as I grew older, between 1994 and 1999. The feature that stands out the most to me is the coloring of their clothes.

So I wanted to get your thoughts on this. I have noticed that when I swipe right on dating apps or see a profile of Asian girls and their profile says something like message me something interesting, I do and then they block. Or if their profile says they want to meet people etc. I get really angry at times. Like why do they only go for white men or black. Why not a pakistani?
Someone told me once on a discord server that asians are racist to your kind and they will only go for white men because they are better and that really hurt. like even if I send memes. is it my fault for being brown?

So, I've been seeing this insect recently that takes flower petals and packs them into thick plant stalks like rhubarb and onions and then it seems to sit in them. I cant for the life of me find anything online about it. Its small and bee-like, but no visible fuzz and black with white stripes. Additionally, its VERY fast. This is in Southern CA.

Like I feel like my gf and I are a good pair and I still call her that because it feels nice to say and is fun to think but like scientifically or realistically I don't really think there is such thing as a soul mate so I'm essentially saying my gf isn't my soulmate? But I love her as one and still claim her to be but obviously anything can change and "the one" is like magical thinking in a way.
People just tend to work out and that randomness to me also makes it special cause out of all the people in the world you just so happen to meet a specific person and work out.
Idk. But I tend to feel bad or dwell on certain thoughts I have especially if it pertains to relationships and people I care about. I also have a bad habit of black and white thinking.

Has anyone completely healed from their dismissive avoidant ex?
More specifically, does anyone have something proven or tangible, supported or provided by a doctor, a psychologist, A educated therapist (not a relationship coach!)
I have spoken with a therapist who has her registered psychology degree as well as a doctorate in philosophy. I have spoken to two psychology doctors through the local cancer hospital as well A fourth registered psychologist who specializes in trauma.
All of them have outlined that being blindsided is one of the most hurtful & damaging breakups to recover from. As well, The experience of a dismissive avoidant relationship followed by being blindsided can more often than people realize cause betrayal trauma, major depressive episodes, periods of extreme distress……. Even suicide ideation.
Cognitive distortion, cognitive dissonance, disillusionment …… the top tier of ultimate mind fucks!
I have a friend out of country who was with a dismissive avoidant for just under two years. He completely ghosted her, black and white ghosted her. They have been separated for two years and she is still struggling! And this woman is very well read, worldly, educated and quite intelligent.
The deep injury and grief process resulting from a dismissive avoidant blindsiding someone is beyond detrimental.
I’m hoping someone has something substantial that has nothing to do with a charlatan ambulance chasing relationship coaches, and can share with everyone!?
The writing is on the wall regarding dismisse of avoidants! It’s almost daily that someone posts a gruelling experience on the sub.

The world bosses, visually are fantastic, but they feel super easy and not really rewarding to fight.... especially without the weekly cache. So my idea is to add mechanics to the world bosses to make them really rewarding but also create a greater risk of failure all around.
For Wandering death, visually this boss is amazing, but his attacks are very easy to dodge and his signature laser beam is just... bad and doesn't fit his theme. So I have ideas for 2 changes to his fight.
1st. Get rid of his laser, it makes no sense for his theme... it doesn't fit at all... instead, replace it with a death mist. The world boss starts channeling a mist that slowly drains all players health, after X amount of time, the entire arena explodes in a black mist and instantly kills everybody. Players need to stagger the boss to break his channel.
This is where the high risk/ high reward comes to play
2nd. At half HP, The boss creates two massive Hell Portals and enemies start pouring into the arena. Slowly at first, it gets faster the longer they remain open... the longer they remain open the harder the enemies become. 1st level, basic white mobs, 2nd, elites start to join in, and 3rd if you let the portal remain open long enough a boss gets summoned... now you have to fight the world boss and another boss, this boss is very difficult but drops very good rewards if killed.
Next is Avarice, The Gold Cursed
Visually I love this boss, he's so awesome. Attacks wise, he's fun the portal jumps keep you on your toes. However like all world bosses, I need be needs a high risk high reward mechanic.... here's my idea
At half HP, he opens his vault/chest and releases 10-15 treasure goblins the begin to run around the arena... your first thought is to probably kill them all right? Wrong. Here's the idea. When they first get released, their drop rates are significantly reduced of that of a normal treasure goblin... however as they run around the arena, they get bigger and bigger and bigger, think of the bomb enemies from Final Fantasy. The bigger they get, their drops get better and better, but they also get much much tankier as they grow in size so they're harder to kill.
Once they reach max size, they begin to glow, and you have X amount of time to kill them or else they will explode and do MASSIVE damage to the entire arena essentially wiping everybody. So the risk is, do you want to kill the goblins quickly and focus the boss down for the boss reward? Or do you want to let the goblins grow in size and try killing as many as you can for the rewards??
And risk being if every person dies at once meaning you took the risk and failed, and everybody died. The world boss unspawns and you lose out on the rewards all together.
I haven't thought of one for Ashava yet sadly.
Thoughts on this? What do you think? Cool or stupid?

Sorry if this sound unclear English isn't my first language. I don't understand why some people get mad when Somalis don't identify as Black. Africa is a very diverse continent and most people identify themselves first by their nationality and their tribe/ethnic group. The term "black" is very vague and limiting. Also, what does black even mean? Is it about people with darker skin? If that's the case then a lot of South Indians should be considered black. Same thing for Europeans, a Greek man and a Norwegian have almost nothing in common culturally and have different phenotypes yet they're both considered white. A Turk and a Greek have much more in common but apparently one is white and the other isn't. We don't even know who is white and who isn't because for some people white is about skin colour and for others, you're white if you mainly have European ancestry. Some Amazigh people (indigenous people of North Africa) look no different than most Europeans and they're not considered white. These two words should only be used by people who don't know where their ancestors are from because it doesn't make sense to the rest of the world.

My hibiscus was overwintered and has been battling aphids. She's now outdoors for the summer, but what are these newer insects?

Will the Stark direwolves face off against the Bolton hounds as the white winds blow across the frozen wilds in the Battle of Ice? Towards the leadup to Game of Thrones' Battle of Bastards episode GRRM left this tantalizing glimpse for its showrunners:

[N.B. A note for future reference. A season or two down the line Ramsay’s pack of wolfhounds are going to be sent against the Stark direwolves, so we should build up the dogs as much as possible in this and subsequent episodes.]

And it feels like there's a sense of certainty in the note that clues us to the future of his work, but how could it even work in the books? The march on Winterfell so far is a fair bit different than its show counterpart (assuming that's what it is), and the direwolves are spread all across the map, seemingly content to be where they are. But with Boltons on a collision course with Stannis, and the food running sparse, it sets a short time window for this encounter to manifest, assuming of course, that the Boltons are defeated in the fight. Which perhaps teasingly takes form in a village in the middle of the giant primordial forest called the Wolfswood.

"The wolfswood," Benjen Stark called it, and indeed their nights came alive with the howls of distant packs, and some not so distant. Jon Snow's albino direwolf pricked up his ears at the nightly howling, but never raised his own voice in reply. There was something very unsettling about that animal, Tyrion thought.

Given Stannis' confirmed role in the burning of Shireen, and Dany's HotU vision of the blue eyed king casting no shadow, (as well as the fan favorite Night Lamp theory) it seems like a safe guess he will survive the first bout at least.
Despite the limitations of time and distance several clues surrounding the training of Ramsay's hounds in the books seem to suggest similar buildup:

"He's trained 'em to kill wolves as well," Ben Bones had confided. Reek said nothing. He knew which wolves the girls were meant to kill, but he had no wish to watch the girls fighting over his severed toe.

...

"Stark's little wolflings are dead," said Ramsay, sloshing some more ale into his cup, "and they'll stay dead. Let them show their ugly faces, and my girls will rip those wolves of theirs to pieces. The sooner they turn up, the sooner I kill them again."

and this quote not directly referencing Ramsay's hounds but seemingly related (credit to LChris24's post or I would have missed this one):

The rest of the dogs were close behind, the hounds sniffing and barking, a pair of monstrous mastiffs bringing up the rear. Their size and ferocity might make the difference against a cornered direwolf.

I think there is a solid amount of buildup to the possibility of these two forces coming together, claw and gnashing fang.

The Call of the Wild

Of the four remaining direwolves in the series though their positions are spread far from Winterfell, so the logistics of having the come together will be important for this to work.
Summer - we last leave Bran's direwolf at the cave of the last greenseer, at the giant weirwood who's roots lead to Westeros' underworld. The drifts have grown so strong that the entrance to the cavern has become snowed over - something Summer must dig through each night to join his pack and hunt while the restless dead wander outside (and living prey remain scarce), before retreating to the cave during the day to to get good-boy head pats from Meera sitting with Bran near the fire. Bran's connection to Summer remains, though his identity seems to be becoming more and more split between his various forms, sometimes as Summer, others as a raven learning to fly or in the roots of the tree traversing time and space. Summer has been able to take control of One Eye's small pack (who is being warged into by Varamyr) after their skirmish and they were even able to take out an undead snow bear together. So what could get Summer moving south? Will Bran read the fates in the tree and send him out? Will something happen to Bran at the tree that sets this event in motion? Summer may not be the largest of the direwolves, though he is often perceived as the smartest and most perceptive.
Shaggydog - Rickon's black direwolf with the eyes of green wildfire is the most savage of the pack, despite his size, and Rickon himself seems to becoming more and more in tune with his wolf each passing day. A strengthening connection Jon seemed to experience as well after reuniting with Ghost leading up to the mutiny. Rickon also seems to have a connection to prophecy similar to Bran, awaiting their father in the Crypts of Winterfell... though unlike Bran he seems to have more a natural comfort in darkness and with death. Shaggydog is in Skagos, last seen in one of Jon's wolf dreams tearing off the flesh of an enormous goat/[unicorn] in a wild rain washing the blood where his prey's horn raked him. In the early drafts of AFFC (thanks to gsteff's research) we actually see that the direwolf was sharing the kill 'with his other half' though that part was removed leaving Rickon's fate more uncertain. How does he get back? That part seems clear at least, Davos is currently en route to try to retrieve the boy and bring him for Wyman Manderly to setup as an heir to Winterfell, though there are plenty of ominous signs on the voyage (the barren seal rock, Davos' missing fingerbones, and per Bran Rickon telling him no will ever come back to Winterfell).
Nymeria - Arya's wolfie is leading a very successful life since she was let go near the Trident to protect her from Cersei's wrath, a spot she hasn't strayed too far from given the abundance of prey compared to the frigid north. Nymeria has gathered an enormous following of wolves that haunts the Riverlands and the Kingsroad. ("She says there's this great pack, hundreds of them, mankillers. The one that leads them is a she-wolf, a bitch from the seventh hell.") Under Nymeria's leadership her grey cousins have "lost all fear of men" ransacking baggage trains, killing armed sentries near Riverrun, and even tearing apart a group of Brave Companions, so that its remarked that they are not wolves at all but "demons in the skins of wolves, sent to chastise us for our sins." Nymeria seems to represent the one part of Arya that she can't shake even as she convinces herself that she is no one, or that she is a cat now wandering Braavos. At night the dreams return tethering her to her roots. In Mercy's Winds excerpt we see a last glimpse of Nymeria, running through dark pine forests hard on the scent of prey, and with a howling in her heart, the full moon overhead as the tree (perhaps Bran or Bloodraven) watches her run. Is she still in the Riverlands (if so will she play a part in the events around Lady Stoneheart) or has she finally started to head home? I'd hate for her to be left out of the reunion as... "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. "
Ghost - And of course Jon's direwolf, Ghost, his silent white shadow. Ghost is left at Castle Black while the mutiny occurs, and it seems likely, that with Jon's last words they are now together in one form. This would also fit Melisandre vision "Now he was a man, now a wolf, now a man again." Jon has also thought in the past if some part of his brothers remained in their wolves when they died. But Ghost was left locked up in the Lord Commander's Tower to prevent an incident with the skinchanger Borroq or his giant boar who the wolf distrusts. Will the mutineers go after Ghost now that Jon has been slain? If so he may need to fight his way out once they open the doors.... or, perhaps, Melisandre might let him go herself. Ghost and her have a pretty uncanny connection with their blazing red eyes (though Jon thinks the red of Ghost's eyes is more of the Old Gods), and Ghost even hesitates to leave her side to go back to Jon when called ("Warmth calls to warmth, Jon Snow"). According to Melisandre there is power in him and the beast which Jon Snow has been resisting and is yet to use... She also mentions Lord Snow would have need of her beyond the Wall ("He does not know it yet, but soon..."). Very mysterious....
But one thing seems clearer, if Ghost is to head south, he already has good cause to. One of Jon's last convictions before his death was to march south to Winterfell try to save his sister after incited by the pink letter. If his soul has carried over to the wolf perhaps that conviction may still remain....

There may or may not even be one subtle additional hint that Summer and Shaggydog could be in Winterfell soon worth discussing. In the finale chapter of A Clash of Kings Bran has one of the more prominent wolf dreams in the series while hiding in the crypts. In it he sees Winterfell burned and everyone there killled, and we are meant to believe that this was the view of what was happening right outside, as the Bolton forces sacked it. But while what he sees seems to match up, some elements of the dream remain questionable - among them the "great winged snake whose roar was a river of flame." (a pretty reasonable depiction of a dragon that might occur from a wolf's pov). Though the interpretation differs amongst readers - Some believe its just GRRM taking visual liberties with the smoke and fire... though wolves recognized real smoke and fire just before that and wolf povs are fairly unpoetic with their descriptions. Some also think it it may have been a way to describe the red comet, but the figure soon disappears from view which could be strange, unless its just meant to be obscured. Or was it a real dragon? It might have been one of the rumored offspring of Vermax born near the hot springs, sneaking in during the carnage. Osha does mention that they "made noise enough to wake a dragon." But perhaps one other interpretation is that Bran was dreaming green, seeing prophecy instead of present. Because Winterfell has been partially rebuilt by the Boltons and Freys during their occupation, we may see Winterfell burned once more. If Stannis takes the city, he may just start a new fire to wake dragons from stone, one that may escape his control.

The Cry of the Blood Moon

There is one really interesting way I think the direwolves might be finally called together. There's been a lot said about how quiet Ghost throughout the books.... only Jon seems to hear him, perhaps telepathically, calling to him at the beginning when no one else could. But with Jon now inhabiting Ghost, could the direwolf gain his voice at last?

Ghost sat on his haunches watching, silent as ever. Will he howl for me when I'm dead, as Bran's wolf howled when he fell? Jon wondered. Will Shaggydog howl, far off in Winterfell, and Grey Wind and Nymeria, wherever they might be?

Ghost is drawn to the hills and the high places looking up at the stars, and while he starts off the smallest of the litter he soon grows to be the largest of the direwolves, perhaps foreshadowing his strength and leadership. Maybe its fitting then that it would be Ghost that calls them home to be a pack again with the boy's death.

Do they miss their brothers and sisters too? Bran wondered. Are they calling to Grey Wind and Ghost, to Nymeria and Lady's Shade? Do they want them to come home and be a pack together?

And if so would it be a physical blood curdling howl or a telepathic one?

There was ice underfoot, and broken stones just waiting to turn an ankle, and the wind was howling fiercely. It sounds like a wolf, thought Sansa. A ghost wolf, big as mountains.

Well, I got another thing to share and show some of you. Is it a supplement? In a sense, once again, it kinda sorta is. It's a string of cloves just as you'd find with regular garlic! Only, there's something different about this, with it being turned black through fermentation, not only has it become stronger and more advanced in many ways, not only is it a bite sized treat that can be used in food or as a stand alone, but it really is just all of that. A while back I tried this for the first time, I love garlic, on everything and anything garlic mostly goes on, but black garlic isn't just for those who love it, it could also be for those who may be indifferent, or maybe even dislike it. This is black garlic, instructions are usually to eat 2-3 a day as is, you can totally eat more and feel it out, and you can add it on food like regular garlic, however you want it is perfect. It's great for detox, great for shielding of many important body processes, preventing disease, and it's just plain healthy, more than any garlic supplement in a capsule with one simple pathway of targeting, and more than the actual white garlic.
Once again, this could interact with medications, this is not a cure or magic pill, this is an amazing supplement to support health in several ways. Do your own due diligence on black garlic.

I tried upgrading a older laptop of mine to Ubuntu 20.04. However after booting I got a black screen with a white blinking bar in the top left.
So I tried trouble shooting by booting into recovery mode. There was a problem with the Python3 symlink so I remade it to point to /use/bin/python3.6.
However when I try to run any apt command except for clean and update I get the error: no module named “apt_pkg”
I tried to solve this by reinstalling python3-apt. However I get a error when I run sudo apt remove python3-apt: “dpkg was interrupted you must manually run sudo dpkg -- configure -a to correct the problem”.
This just runs the command and the goes back to the recovery menu. When I then go back to the root shell I get the same dpkg error. Currently this is where I am stuck.
Any help to solve this is appreciated.

So first of all, I'm gonna preface with, this is my first actual community post so I apologise if I get anything wrong I've barely used reddit before now😅 (also my second attempts bcs I messed up the first time, espeeeecially with formatting).
Anyway to the point of the post. I've just started re-reading the books for the first time after reading them 2 years ago and a question popped into my mind of, 'where does the Northern plotline go after The Battle in the Ice?' Frankly I think it's fairly obvious Stannis will win the battle, take some captives and use some nice espionage by dressing some of his men up as Karstarks, Freys and Manderlys and sending in 'captured prisoners' and also using Theon's knowledge of Winterfell to sneak in and take the castle from the inside out considering everything we saw from Theon 1.
From here things get iffy but I'm gonna rush through this relatively quickly to what I believe to be the meat and potatoes of this. Firstly, Stannis will set most men women and children to preparing crops and when they can, training in their nearest town or stronghold to prepare for the upcoming war. He'll send Theon to The Wall as he can be a future asset for undermining Eurob and also as a way to placate the Northern lords. He will probably wait for Tycho Nestoris's 20,000 sellswords and sort out whatever issues are left at The Wall while trying to manoeuvre the Northern Lords to support him unconditionally for the next phase of his plan (also after Davos returns with Rickon, I ain't getting into Skagos that's 5 whole cans of speculation worms).
When the 20,000 arrive he will have some of them work at the wall, others to help train the local populace but take most south with 8,000 northmen and the remainder of his southern army to Moat Cailin (so probably an army of around 22,000). From here Stannis will layout his plan to Ser Davos, and here I'm gonna take a page out of Preston Jacobs's Frey Civil War video.
I imagine his idea about Littlefinger and him likely assassinating Black Walder and Petyr Pimple is a correct assessment. Couple this with the likely Red Wedding 2.0 and there will be a massive power vacuum causing a massive Frey meeting at the Twins and a bunch of them to start killing each other, permitting Littlefinger to invade, take over the Twins and much of the Eastern Riverlands... aside from the fact Aegon VI will have his eye on the area with the might of Highgarden and Sunspear and the Golden Company behind him. LF will probably refrain from attacking him at first, trying to gain more allies in the region and even play Aegon off but considering how brash the kid is I highly doubt it will work, causing the 2 to go to war.
This comes just at the right time for Stannis. No matter which way the story goes, it is building to a confrontation between him and LF. As such with Lord Wyman's 60 warships, plus his own at Eastwatch, he and 6,000 of his soldiers will sail from White Harbour and assault Gull Town, Runestone and afterwards, Old Anchor. Ser Davos will lead the rest of the army to the Twins (leaving 5,000 as reserves to send to Stannis) telling the new lord Frey to join them as Stannis is going to win the war, and also send out multiple letters to each individual lord and lady of the Vale to rebel against Littlefinger lest Stannis take Iron Oak, Saltpans, Longbow Hall and all the rest.
With LF preoccupied with most of the Vale's forces in the Riverlands, losing 2 bloody wars against the BwB and Aegon, Stannis attacking them from behind (and Alayne likely coming out and telling them the truth about LF and his plans), the Vale will turn on him, taking him prisoner and joining Stannis's forces alongside a decent chunk of the northern Riverlands.
From here I feel we would be over half way through the book and Dany's invasion will be beginning (yes I'm being generous to how quickly GRRM can get through the Meereenese Knot but I think it's possible) causing Aegon's forces to almost certainly focus their attention on the big dragon lady allowing Stannis to scoop up a lot more of the Riverlands.
After this point I feel he would focus on consolidating his power in the area, removing the BwB and doing something about the Westerlands as Aegon and Dany try to kill each other right in time for the Wall to fall and Westeros to maybe be divided into-
North, Vale, Riverlands, Westerlands with Stannis, Crownlands, Stormlands, Dorne and Reach with Dany. And yeah the Iron Isles with Euron with pockets of control in other areas.
Sorry for such along winded post it's just a theory thought up that I ain't seen anywhere else and frankly those sellswords and warships have gotta do something! For any of you that read this I hope you like it and I'd enjoy any feedback :).

Throughout highschool I had smoked weed relatively often, maybe once every few weeks and I was always able to handle quite a bit without any bad effects. I’d get extremely high, sure, but never uncomfortable.
One time however, me and a few friends decided to go to a beach to smoke some of their uncle’s home-grown weed. The tide was going out and the beach has extremely shallow water so when the tide is low you can walk like a kilometer out towards the sea over flat sand. We made a fire and had some hot dogs. Once the sun started to set my friend pulled out a joint and lit it. He warned us it was fairly potent so we all had a conservative hit and enjoyed the sunset. When it was dark we were all a little high and having a good time so we decided to smoke a little more. I'm not sure when exactly it happened but I started feeling uncomfortable. I couldn't put my finger on what was bothering me but we decided to go for a walk on the beach to do something to take my mind off of it.
We walked out towards the sea for a while and looking back at land I could see the fire on the beach with trees behind it silhouetted by the moonlight. I started having a good time again and was chilling. My friend started doing this thing where he'd draw a line in the sand and then jump through it, saying he just went through a portal. I did it too with him and it was a good bit of fun. We were basically imaging we were in another dimension, and I remember he pointed out a little cloud and called it a UFO, since it was illuminated by the moon. Because we were both pretty high it was entertaining and I sorta imagined it to be a ufo.
At some point through jumping through these "portals" I started becoming very disoriented. My high imagination was getting the better of me and I started thinking "maybe I really did go through a portal". My friends noticed something was up so the sat me down on the beach and talked to me. I closed my eyes and my friends voice seemed to teleport around me, almost as if I were spinning in circles as he talked to me. The direction of the voice would be illuminated by a white light in my vision when my eyes were closed. Very suddenly I felt extremely dissociated, and when I opened my eyes and looked back to the fire my vision seemed to pivot upwards, as if it was a TV screen folding up to the ceiling. This is when the paranoia became super intense.
I had many existential thoughts running through my mind, all along the lines of "am I a real person? Are my friends real people? How am I conscious if I am just a brain?". As you probably know, these thoughts on drugs can be very hard to describe accurately after the fact, and they can be extremely overwhelming and convincing at the time. As I thought these things I became increasingly disconnected from my body and convinced that all of reality was an illusion. That we were nothing more than a bunch of biochemistry in an organic body. I looked at my friends and I saw them as zombies, not hallucinating, but I "realized" that people were like animals reacting to the world around them based on stimuli and chemistry. Sort of like the "deterministic universe theory". This freaked me the hell out. On top of this I felt as if I had been stuck in a time loop for many many many hours. I felt like I'd never leave this terrifying dissociative state, and I was stuck there with all of these thoughts in my head forever.
As I was on this beach basically going insane I had these visions of different monsters on the beach with me. I can't say if they were real hallucinations or if I was imagining it with my eyes closed, but I saw thousands of people on the beach stumbling around like zombies. Guided only by the primal instincts that the chemistry in the brain dictates. Like a sea of zombies out of the walking dead, except they weren't dead or rotting. I saw this as if I were not in my body, but floating above because I was extremely dissociated. Again, my eyes may have been closed and I was just imagining all of this, but it felt very real.
I have a very hard time remembering exactly how long this all lasted, but it felt like a LONG time, to the point where I thought I had been like this forever and also I would be like this forever. The next thing I remember seeing was looking around me at this beach sandy beach which seemed to stretch infinitely in each direction other than the shore. I saw these one-eyed black blobs sprout from the ground. They had like a teardrop shape with a stump at the bottom. Look up "chuchu zelda phantom hourglass" and its basically a one eyed black version of those. There seemed to be hundreds of them on the beach.
I think it was at this point when my friends took me back to the shore. It was probably only like 10 minutes since I started freaking out but it felt like eternity. We had parked one of our cars there and had plans to be picked up by another friend after his night shift. I went and sat in the backseat of the car and I opened my phone to look at who had snap chatted me. I looked at the bitmojis and they seemed completely foreign and I couldnt assign a real person to each of them. I felt as if I had forgotten who I was and who I knew. I looked at photos of people on my phone and couldn't remember who they were. I then felt as if I had pissed myself. I hadn't, but that feeling kinda woke me up and I actually laughed about it and then promptly went back to freaking out. I kept telling my friend "make it stop" over and over again.
Eventually at some point my other friend picked everyone up and drove us home. I had a hard time falling asleep, although I was less panicked at that point.
In the morning I woke up and felt extremely strange. As if I was watching my vision through a screen like playing a video game. The next couple weeks were scary because I was very forgetful. I forgot where my friend lived when driving them home one day that week. I couldn't picture people's faces if I tried. I felt as if I wasn't real. I was terrified that I had broken my brain or that I was going insane.
The scary thoughts I had during that experience plagued me for two years. I found myself mulling over these existential thoughts that I couldn't put into words very well. I also felt very dissociated for a year, gradually getting better until 3 years after the incident where I finally felt normal. I went to therapy for it and it helped a bit, but I never found a magic cure to my dissociation other than just waiting it out. I also had semi-regular anxiety attacks for a while related to existential dread which I hadn't had before and haven't had recently either.
I have tried smoking weed a few times since then and the same sort of paranoia has happened, to a slightly lesser extent though. Most recently was 4 years after the experience and I had instant paranoia about the feeling of being high. I used to be able to keep up with my "experienced" friends when smoking weed but now I cant even handle a single small hit off of the weakest joint you can buy. I find it really interesting and that the experience instantly and permanently lowered my weed tolerance to exactly zero. I have also tried LSD and mushrooms since then and they were totally fine, no scary experiences there.
Every time I've told people this story they don't believe me that I had this time-loop effect. They also don't really believe that I saw those zombies or those monsters (neither hallucinations or imagining). They suggest that maybe the weed was laced but that's virtually impossible because it was home grown and I personally know the guy who grew it.
Anyway, roughly 4 years later I feel fine. The dissociation is gone and I don't have much existential dread. Not due to me finding any sort of answer or coming to terms with it, it just seemed to fade away by itself. Glad its all over now.
