The acronym "FYI" in the title is representative of a number of linguistic changes that I have come across in the course of my recent "field studies" on media theory. One result of the previous trilogy on "media theory" may well be the discovery of a "new speechlessness" in the form of acronyms and emojis, for example. The initial thesis of the "new speechlessness" occurs, in my opinion, especially with regard to the new forms of communication within the "IVL" (in virtual life) of digital media, such as messenger services, but also in social interactions "IRL" (in real life) in the deprivative "F2F" (face-to-face) forms of communication and this is not only due to the *C* topic, but was already "virulent" before.

This is just a public health awareness thread about some little known things amongst the normans. Reddit wont let me post links, but what I will do is post study title and authors/year, and some cases abstract copy paste. I will do at the bottom after the statements.
So, as you all know, COVID is a thing still, and many didn't actually know what it was capable of, outside of comparisons to other coronaviruses and the acute illness. Right now, acute illness is incredibly manageable, but the long term effects on organs is becoming alarming, even in mild cases. So lets take it from the top, so we are on the same page. We will start on organ systems and virus character.
So, covid is pretty much a vascular virus, which seems to disrupt vasculature. Lets start before vaccines to demonstrate to those among us suspicious that the vaccine is the cause. (Its fine to worry about tech, i dont judge).
Every person in Sweden diagnosed with COVID-19 from Feb. 1, 2020, to Sept. 14, 2020 — a total of nearly 87,000 people. Their median age was 48, and 57% were women. Researchers compared them with more than 348,000 Swedish people of similar age and sex who did not have the virus.
In the week after a COVID-19 diagnosis, the risk of a first heart attack increased by three to eight times. The risk of a first stroke caused by a blood clot multiplied by three to six times. In the following weeks, both risks decreased steadily but stayed elevated for at least a month.
Thats PRE vax. In a population which probably have the obesity % of the US and a healthy hiking and outdoor culture. US obesity rate is 40%+. Sweden perhaps half or less. Also, viral load on exposure can be a large determination of severity acutely, but perhaps also viral creep inside the body and the resulting dysfunction and damage.
Risk of Cardiovascular Events after Covid-19: a double-cohort study Objective To determine absolute and relative risks of either symptomatic or asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection for late cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality.
Conclusions Either symptomatic or asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection is associated with increased risk of late cardiovascular outcomes and has causal effect on all-cause mortality in a late post-COVID-19 period

Long-term cardiac pathology in individuals with mild initial COVID-19 illness
In this cohort of selected previously well and home-isolating individuals initially evaluated at a median of 109 days and followed-up at 329 days after diagnosis of COVID-19 infection, respectively, the ongoing cardiac symptoms were related to mild but notable imaging findings, suggesting inflammatory cardiac involvement. At baseline, participants with cardiac symptoms had higher mapping values, suggesting diffuse myocardial inflammation, and more frequent pericardial enhancement, suggesting pericardial inflammatory involvement compared to asymptomatic participants. At follow-up, 53% of the cohort had persistent cardiac symptoms, whereas new symptoms developed in 5%.
Transcriptomic profiling of cardiac tissues from SARS-CoV-2 patients identifies DNA damage
In this study, we investigated the host transcriptome landscape of cardiac tissues collected at rapid autopsy from seven SARS-CoV-2, two pH1N1, and six control patients using targeted spatial transcriptomics approaches. Although SARS-CoV-2 was not detected in cardiac tissue, host transcriptomics showed upregulation of genes associated with DNA damage and repair, heat shock, and M1-like macrophage infiltration in the cardiac tissues of COVID-19 patients. The DNA damage present in the SARS-CoV-2 patient samples, were further confirmed by γ-H2Ax immunohistochemistry.
In comparison, pH1N1 showed upregulation of interferon-stimulated genes, in particular interferon and complement pathways, when compared with COVID-19 patients. These data demonstrate the emergence of distinct transcriptomic profiles in cardiac tissues of SARS-CoV-2 and pH1N1 influenza infection supporting the need for a greater understanding of the effects on extra-pulmonary organs, including the cardiovascular system of COVID-19 patients, to delineate the immunopathobiology of SARS-CoV-2 infection, and long term impact on health.

our results provide evidence that the risk and 1-year burden of cardiovascular disease in survivors of acute COVID-19 are substantial. Care pathways of those surviving the acute episode of COVID-19 should include attention to cardiovascular health and disease.
Acute and postacute sequelae associated with SARS-CoV-2 reinfection
The evidence shows that reinfection further increases risks of death, hospitalization and sequelae in multiple organ systems in the acute and postacute phase. Reducing overall burden of death and disease due to SARS-CoV-2 will require strategies for reinfection prevention.

Initial data from 201 patients suggest that almost 70% had impairments in one or more organs four months after their initial symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
SARS-CoV-2 infection and persistence in the human body and brain at autopsy
We show that SARS-CoV-2 is widely distributed, predominantly among patients who died with severe COVID-19, and that virus replication is present in multiple respiratory and non-respiratory tissues, including the brain, early in infection. Further, we detected persistent SARS-CoV-2 RNA in multiple anatomic sites, including throughout the brain, as late as 230 days following symptom onset in one case. Despite extensive distribution of SARS-CoV-2 RNA throughout the body, we observed little evidence of inflammation or direct viral cytopathology outside the respiratory tract. Our data indicate that in some patients SARS-CoV-2 can cause systemic infection and persist in the body for months.

Post-COVID-19 “recovery” cannot be gauged solely on a negative polymerase chain reaction or hospital discharge. There is remarkable variation in the duration, severity, and fluctuation of symptoms, which can affect survivors’ quality of life, functional status, cognition, and mood, and lead to severe disability. Given the global scale of this pandemic, it is apparent that the health-care needs for patients with sequelae of COVID-19 will continue to increase for the foreseeable future.
Immune system deviations?
We heard initial outbreaks of fungal infections of various types. Yes any infection can cause reduction in immune cells. Either because the immune system is busy diverted into tissues, fighting infection, or from apoptosis etc.
The deposits of antigens or viral pieces in many parts of the body, is perhaps causing problems, but also there appears to be markers of T cell exhaustion in some with high PD1 expression on some important immune cells too?

SARS-CoV-2 infection: The role of PD-1/PD-L1 and CTLA-4 axis
The most important diagnostic feature in individuals with COVID-19 is lymphocyte depletion, most importantly, T-cells. Due to the induction of interferon-γ (INF-γ) production by neutrophils and monocytes, which are abundantly present in the peripheral blood of the individuals with COVID-19, the expression of inhibitory immune checkpoints including, PD-1 (programmed death), PD-L1 and CTLA4 on the T-cells' surface is enhanced. The purpose of this review is to discuss the functions of these checkpoints and their effects on the dysfunction and exhaustion of T-cells, making them almost ineffective in individuals with COVID-19, especially in the cases with extreme symptoms.
COVID-19 and renal involvement: a prospective cohort study assessing the impact of mild SARS-CoV-2 infection on the kidney function of young healthy males
Mild COVID-19 is associated with mild renal involvement without AKI. Changes in the renal function appear to be related to reduced creatinine clearance and possible albumin leakage in the acute phase of the disease. The reduction in creatinine clearance is not predicted by viral load, and it appears to be a long-term effect of the disease that can last for at least 6 months.
Reduction and Functional Exhaustion of T Cells in Patients With Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Conclusions: T cell counts are reduced significantly in COVID-19 patients, and the surviving T cells appear functionally exhausted. Non-ICU patients with total T cells counts lower than 800/μL may still require urgent intervention, even in the immediate absence of more severe symptoms due to a high risk for further deterioration in condition.

In this study, lower WM CBF, as well as widespread regional CBF changes identified using quantitative MRI, was found in mild COVID-19 patients. Further studies are needed to determine the reliability of this newly identified COVID-19 brain imaging marker and determine what drives these CBF changes.

Moreover, COVID-19 may cause direct brain injury via encephalopathy. The long-term impacts of this virus on mental healthand brain function need to be analysed by researchers in the coming years. This article aims to describe the prolonged neurological clinical consequences related to brain changes in people with mild COVID-19 infection. When compared to a control group, people those who tested positive for COVID-19 had more brain shrinkage, grey matter shrinkage, and tissue damage. The damage occurs predominantly in areas of the brain that are associated with odour, ambiguity, strokes, reduced attention, headaches, sensory abnormalities, depression, and mental abilities for few months after the first infection. Therefore, in patients after a severe clinical condition of COVID-19, a deepening of persistent neurological signs is necessary.

Lingering cardiac involvement in previously well people after mild COVID-19
The mild but persistent non-ischemic cardiac inflammation that we describe in this study was not associated with overt structural heart disease or troponin release. Although it is triggered by a viral infection, profound myocardial injury or functional impairment is not typical, contrary to the classical definition of viral myocarditis2. Its pathophysiology is more reminiscent of findings in other chronic diffuse inflammatory syndromes that occur post-virally (for example, human immunodeficiency virus–associated cardiomyopathy)3or as a result of autoimmunity (for example, systemic lupus erythematosus4,5). In these cases, persistent subclinical cardiovascular inflammation seems to predispose people to a poor prognosis and the development of heart failure. Non-ischemic cardiac inflammatory involvement is therefore emerging as an important risk factor, and the long-term prognostic relevance of post-acute COVID-19 cardiac involvement in previously healthy people with mild initial COVID-19 illness requires further investigation.

Outcomes of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Patients Recently Recovered From Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Conclusions and Relevance In this study of a cohort of German patients recently recovered from COVID-19 infection, CMR revealed cardiac involvement in 78 patients (78%) and ongoing myocardial inflammation in 60 patients (60%), independent of preexisting conditions, severity and overall course of the acute illness, and time from the original diagnosis. These findings indicate the need for ongoing investigation of the long-term cardiovascular consequences of COVID-19.

SARS-CoV-2 infection: The role of PD-1/PD-L1 and CTLA-4 axis
The most important diagnostic feature in individuals with COVID-19 is lymphocyte depletion, most importantly, T-cells. Due to the induction of interferon-γ (INF-γ) production by neutrophils and monocytes, which are abundantly present in the peripheral blood of the individuals with COVID-19, the expression of inhibitory immune checkpoints including, PD-1 (programmed death), PD-L1 and CTLA4 on the T-cells' surface is enhanced. The purpose of this review is to discuss the functions of these checkpoints and their effects on the dysfunction and exhaustion of T-cells, making them almost ineffective in individuals with COVID-19, especially in the cases with extreme symptoms.
COVID-19 and renal involvement: a prospective cohort study assessing the impact of mild SARS-CoV-2 infection on the kidney function of young healthy males
Mild COVID-19 is associated with mild renal involvement without AKI. Changes in the renal function appear to be related to reduced creatinine clearance and possible albumin leakage in the acute phase of the disease. Conclusions: T cell counts are reduced significantly in COVID-19 patients, and the surviving T cells appear functionally exhausted. Non-ICU patients with total T cells counts lower than 800/μL may still require urgent intervention, even in the immediate absence of more severe symptoms due to a high risk for further deterioration in condition.

Hello everyone, I paid 10k as a down-payment for Revolt EV in Aug-2022, I waited for my bike until Feb-2023 to get it. I was told that I will get my bike within a month when I paid my down payment which is refundable. Anyways they delayed and delayed the delivery until Feb-2023 when I was forced to cancel the bike and request for refund. Again refund is delayed and delayed, they're not giving me any refund reference number other than the company complaint ticket no. I have all the bill payments, emails, screen shots. Title says all. I've had problems receiving messages and dealt with ineffectual tech support for ages before realising they were just stalling with no real solutions. I thus resolved to leave Fi. Fi acknowledges that my number has been ported out in October 2022, and yet I'm still receiving bills and ominous emails about bill non-payment (see screenshots). I contact support and I'm just told that this is the process. WTF? So apparently Fi's business model entails continuing to bill customers who haven't been receiving whatever services they're being billed for, this is the "process". Of course I'm not paying these bills but I'm genuinely concerned that these unpaid bills will eventually be reported to credit bureaus and hurt my credit score. What are my options? BBB?

After looking at the draft class, I feel like the 2018 class is the 2nd best in the last 10 years and arguably the best. There’s always Top Heavy classes, but 2018 is deep.
I think there’s 9 potential/current All-Stars in the class, which would tie 2003 for most in the last 20 years. 1996 had 10 all-stars, and there were years before that with more but just looking at the last 30 years here.

It comes as the first deaths were reported following the breach of the dam in the Russian-occupied area of southern Ukraine.
The delegation, made up of a number of leaders of African countries, is expected to visit Ukraine and Russia in June.
Some 8.3 million people have fled Ukraine since Russia's invasion in early 2022, according to the UN refugee agency, UNHCR. Of those, 5.1 million have temporary protection under special arrangements without them having to apply for asylum in the EU, Norway and Switzerland.
"The Russian soldiers, the Russian police, the authorities, everyone working in the hostel has been treating us extremely well," said passenger Girvaan Singh Kahma, 16, adding that they were barred to leave the hostel in Magadan and were unable to use their credit cards because of sanctions over Russia's war in Ukraine.

There's a mix of things I'm dealing with and I'm not sure what to do about any of it. I'm not even sure where to start explaining my situation. Sorry in advanced if it occasionally derails, because there's a ridiculous amount of things to summarize and skim through.
In January 2023, I (27F) moved by myself, halfway across the country, to Texas to escape semi-unethical living conditions with my family (threatening to force religious conversion onto me, not supporting me in getting mental health treatment for autism/trauma/etc. Generally a toxic living environment, despite "wanting the best" for me). A "friend" (22M) offered to take me in, else I would've been homeless, perhaps even dead due to the winter storms.
We met online via discord in May 2022, and he quickly charmed me by telling me how he wanted to learn about others' perspectives, so he could grow and better himself as a person. Long story short, he was a convincing liar and a terrifying abuser.
I don't think I have enough significant physical evidence of his abuse; aside from a single recording of an argument we had (out of several dozens that happened throughout the months), photographs of small scars on my hands (from the unethical job he set me up with), and symptoms of trauma/PTSD that I can't even officially confirm yet (despite the fact that the anxiety tied with my traumas are debilitating enough to keep me unemployed for over a month now). There's also a number of my other friends (both online and not) who witnessed me defending him (a classic sign that gaslighting and abuse was happening), but I don't think that carries any legal weight.
In April of 2023 I moved out, into a better and much healthiehappier living situation. 2-3 weeks afterwards, I quit the toxic job and completely blocked my abuser. Prior to the cut-off and after moving out, he had lectured and threatened me over taking tupperware that I accidentally bought duplicates of (he hardly used them anyway, as he did delivery for almost all of his meals, and even refused to refridgerate leftovers, so it didn't make sense that he'd even want to keep my tupperware). Upon cutting him off, he tried to follow through on another threat, that involved trash-talking me and "exposing the truth about me" in hopes that people he knew I liked would instantly drop me. "Because friendships are fickle like that". It obviously didn't work.
Anyway, I digress. I don't know if I have enough legal leverage (or lawyer funds for that matter) to press charges for the abusive matters. I don't know about that process at all and what results would come of it. However, when we were still "friends", he admitted to me (via spoken word, nothing written as far as I remember) that he paid someone on the dark web for illegal and exploitative content, supposedly because he was bullied online and consequently convinced he might actually like it. He hated it, supposedly. I don't know now if it's the truth or not, due to how much he lied and went behind my back before. He did still engage with the illegal activity, which is grounds enough to report him, right?
I'm very scared to report this, however. I'm weighing some of the odds, due to my lack of knowledge of the matter. I also understand that I have responsibility as a victim and as a witness, but not everything works out IRL as it does on paper. I have his exact information (full name, address, phone number, current employment, even a vague memory of what car he drives) that will all be valid until July.
If I somehow report a tip on the illegal content he obtained, anonymously or not, there's a chance he'll know I'm the one who reported him. He doesn't know where I live, so while I'm not 100% in physical danger, he's highly intelligent and will do everything he can to track me and inflict harm on me (he talked about murderous ideations with me before in a joking matter, even after I told him I was very uncomfortable with it). We live relatively close to each other, so there's still some degree of risk. It also puts the people I'm currently living with at risk, and I don't want anything to happen to them because I'm trying to do the right thing.
The best case scenario is that upon reporting him, he ends up in prison. No harm done to me, anyone in the future, or to those that have helped me escape him. Worst case scenario, he manages to convince law enforecement that he's innocent, and he comes after my life. Another "worst case" scenario is that he WAS being honest about hating the illegal content, which would've been deleted prior to a potential search & seizure. I'd potentially be in trouble if there turns out to be no evidence for my claim, which terrifies me in its own right, because I have no family willing to bail me out if I'm the one who's locked up instead. I could also get locked up because I "waited" so long to report it, so there's a chance that I could legally be seen as an "accomplice" for not reporting it immediately.
I want to be done with the trauma he has caused me. But as much as I want to prevent him from harming other people in the future, I also don't wanna be "petty" and "go back" to do something "bad", seemingly just to "get revenge and ruin his life" or whatever. If anything, I'd prefer he get intensive correctional treatment for his malice and twisted mentality, rather than just to "rot". I want justice served and for people to be protected, but I'm also terrified of the very likely idea that I could get hurt by attempting something in the wrong way.
What would be my best move here? What evidence would I need, should I choose to report him for something? Should I even do it, or do I not have enough qualifying evidence or leverage? Will I get in trouble if my abuser manages to cover his tracks well enough? Or am I actually being petty with all of this and need to learn to let the past go?
My plan for now is, if I go take action, to download all logs from our discord DMs (for evidence of threats), along with organizing any audio and photographic evidence of what happened while living with him. That way, I have everything ready to submit stored in one place. If there's anything else I can do, I'd greatly appreciate the advice.
