2023.06.01 13:43 pplante19 ER605, EAP670 and Vlans
![]() | Hi everyone, I'm looking for advices and/or guidance. I just bought an ER605 VPN router + an EAP670 WAP for home use. I have a rather large house and have several connected devices (about 80 devices, many of which are IoT devices). submitted by pplante19 to TPLink_Omada [link] [comments] My main goal here is to separate IoT devices on their own Vlan. They are smart bulbs, smart switch, temperature sensors, alarm clock, IP cameras, Google Nest, Google TV, smart locks, etc. All the things that I want to put on a separate Vlan are wireless, nothing is wired. So my first question is : Do I need also a managed switch if I already have an ER605 VPN router + an EAP670 WAP ? I mean, can those 2 things handle the Vlan part without a managed switch if everything going to the separate Vlan are wireless ? (Sorry, I'm new to Vlan, this might sound like a dump question to some, but I want to learn this and play around with it). Like I said, it's a large house, not a business, it is not wired with ethernet cables and I did not want to open walls or something to pass cables BUT, there was a few places that had Coax cables entry..., and I made a network out of it with the help of a few MoCA adapters, it works really well. All this to say that my 'wiring' is not everything goes to a central room where the router is installed, it is mainly 'chained'. I tried to draw it the best I could, you can see it attached to this post. I don't mind having a few IoT devices that are ethernet wired on my main network, all I want to achieve is to mainly isolate my wireless IoT devices on a separate network, and this is mainly on wireless. I want my laptop, my smartphone, etc. to be on my main network (let's say SSID named MainWifi) and be able to access my network devices, but I want my other IoT devices on a totally different WiFi/Vlan (let's say SSID name IoT), I want them to access internet, but I don't want them to access my main network, I want them on a separate range. So, do I really need a managed switch to do this ? I mean, my network map is weird and chained, where would I put that switch, it is all passing though a CoAX network, do I have to put a managed switch right after the router and before the MoCA1 adapter so all traffic can pass through it ? Thanks all for help and suggestions, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. https://preview.redd.it/ix9yrx2a9e3b1.png?width=1173&format=png&auto=webp&s=00816e319775b284ce1df0a15161050f9c64e7b8 |

The print is single walled, so this might've been happening before in the inner walls but I only realized it now. I get these weird irregular underextrusion, usually around the edges of the models. I've played with temperature (no change from 200-230, eSun PLA), extruder idler tension, microsteps (now 16), extruder stepper current (now at 0.95 A), neither of those solved the issue, retraction (0.7 mm now, direct drive, speed is 70mm/s, did a retraction calibration test and no issues with that up to 85mm/s, already tried 30mm/s, it seemed worse). Pressure advance is also quite low (0.055). The print is being sliced in Cura 5.3. The hotend is an E3Dv6 clone and the print speed is 80 mm/s at the outer walls, with a layer height of 0.2 mm this gives 6 mm³/s of flow, quite within the capacity of the extruder set-up. Also the faster printing infill is not giving issues, so I don't think is related to the flow. I have ran dry of ideas and hopefully the more experienced members here can come to my rescue. Any ideas are welcome. Here is the Klipper config: # This file contains common pin mappings for the Two Trees Sapphire # Plus printer from 2020 (revision 2 with dual Z axis). # To use this config, the firmware should be compiled for the STM32F103. # When running "make menuconfig" you have to: # - enable "extra low-level configuration setup", # - select the 28KiB bootloader, # - select serial (on USART3 PB11/PB10) communication # - set "GPIO pins to set at micro-controller startup" to "!PC6,!PD13" # Note that the "make flash" command does not work with the Sapphire # Pro. After running "make", run the following command: # ./scripts/update_mks_robin.py out/klipper.bin out/Robin_nano35.bin # Copy the file out/Robin_nano35.bin to an SD card and then restart the # printer with that SD card. # See docs/Config_Reference.md for a description of parameters. 2023.06.01 08:45 ChugachMtnBlues Map of Indigenous Language Families Spoken in the US Today vs. Where They Were Spoken in Pre-Columbian America
![]() | level 1ChugachMtnBluesOP·34 min. ago submitted by ChugachMtnBlues to linguistics [link] [comments] Most maps of Pre-Columbian North America that I've seen are by cultural region rather than language, and the ones that are tend to show where groups were when they encountered Europeans, NOT where they were in 1492 (for instance, the Comanche are almost always shown on the Southern Plains, even though they didn't come to the Southern Plains until they got the horse and probably didn't exist as a separate ethnicity from the Eastern Shoshone at all in 1492). The specifics involve a lot of guesswork, but we know that Europeans caused a cascade of migration inland when they started contacting coastal peoples, and some groups had been displaced for a couple hundred years by the time they actually made direct contact with Europeans. This Wikipedia map, from a 1960s textbook, was my starting point, but it follows the "where they were when Europeans arrived to that specific area" model, plus some of the language classifcations are outdated: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Early_Localization_Native_Americans_USA.jpg For the current-day map, I used the map in this report from the US Census: https://www2.census.gov/library/publications/2011/acs/acsbr10-10.pdf Notes on methodology: For the pre-contact map, I took a generally "lumping" approach to language families, mostly to make the map easier to read--if there's reasonable consensus that two langauges belong to the same family, I put them together (e.g. "Hokan," which definitely includes the Yuman families of western Arizona but might not include the Californian languages). To reflect the uncertainty about precise locations, especially in the interior, I blurred the lines, but even with that this map presents things as more certain than they actually are. There are almost certainly some individual isolates and whole groups that just went extinct without ever being recorded. Furthermore, some territories weren't really "inhabited" in any meaningful sense; others were shared hunting grounds; others were being actively fought over. Because of all that uncertainty, this map can't be said to represent a particular moment in time, but is an impressionistic view of where native languages were spoken in the 16th century. For the modern map, I mostly approximated the shape of the reservations where these languages are mostly spoken, but it's important to note that many reservations don't have a lot of original speakers of the language, and conversely that (especially near large reservations) the language is also spoken outside the reservation. There are also a couple urban areas where Native languages are spoken in considerable number: Anchorage, Fairbanks, Honolulu, Sea-Tac, Los Angeles, Tulsa, and Minneapolis (but not New York City!)Note that this is not indicating areas where a majority of people in the area speak the Native language it (that would reduce it to a couple areas in Alaska, and maybe the Pueblos and the Navajo Nation) or even a plurality (which would only slightly expand it) but anywhere more than 500 people speak it in one place. https://preview.redd.it/je7ha1brsc3b1.png?width=1112&format=png&auto=webp&s=4f4cf07d2e2212c82144aa231515433eae33a123 https://preview.redd.it/ghkki2brsc3b1.png?width=1123&format=png&auto=webp&s=5461458ad04857f47b7b06158d87f7fe88c7ea54 |
