Sculk Sensor Phases

Vibration Frequencies

In preparation for the Calibrated Sculk Sensor, vibration frequencies have been greatly simplified to prevent unwanted interference. The following are category descriptions for each frequency and the expected events that they correspond to:
  1. Movement in any medium (land, water and air)
  2. Landing on any surface (land or water)
  3. Item interactions
  4. Gliding with an elytra or unique mob actions (Ravager roar, Wolf shaking, etc)
  5. Dismounting a mob or equipping gear
  6. Mounting a mob or interacting with a mob
  7. Mobs and players getting damaged
  8. Consuming items (drinking and eating)
  9. Blocks 'deactivating' (door close, chest close, button unpress, etc)
  10. Blocks 'activating' (door open, chest open, button press, etc)
  11. Blocks changing (cauldron water level rising, adding food to campfire, etc.)
  12. Blocks being destroyed
  13. Blocks being placed
  14. Mobs and players teleporting or spawning
  15. Mobs and players dying or an explosion

Step Sounds

Advancements

Technical Changes

Light Engine

The light engine is responsible for calculating the brightness of each block in the world. Light is calculated during world generation as well as updated when a block is changed in the world. Behavior of the light engine has not been changed.

Commands

return

The return command can be used to control execution flow inside functions and change their return value. Effects:
Syntax:
return
Parameters:
  • value: An integer return value

data

  • string data sources now accept negative boundaries, which are interpreted as index counted from the end of the string

Display Entity

Interpolation Changes

  • Previous values are always discarded if interpolation_duration is 0
  • Made sure that render properties are applied at the same time (so block_state is applied at the same time as transformation, i.e. at the next tick after receiving an update)
  • Display entities are not rendered until their initial data is received. That means display entities might not be shown on the first tick.
  • Note: due to how the game handles updates, changes to entities made after summoning might be delivered to clients within a later tick

Rendering Changes

  • item_display items have been rotated 180 degrees around the Y axis to better match the transformation that is applied when rendering items on an Armor Stand head and in Item Frames
    • For reference, the order of transformations applied to model (starting from innermost) is item_transform, rotate Y 180, transformation field, entity orientation (billboard option + Rotation field + Pos field)

Structure post-processors

Capped post-processor

  • A capped post-processor has been added which can limit how many blocks a delegated post-processor randomly transform in a structure
  • This can be used to configure a structure piece to have an exact amount of specific blocks, instead of using random distribution
  • The capped post-processor has following required parameters:
    • delegate A post-processor which performs the actual block transformation
    • limit Maximum amount of blocks that the delegated post-processor can transform
    • The blocks inside a structure are all randomly passed to the delegated post-processor until it has transformed the limited amount
    • Either constant or random number generator sampled during post-processing

Rule post-processor block entity configuration

  • Previously a rule could specify an optional fixed output_nbt which would be added to the processed output block entity
  • This field has now been changed to reference a block_entity_modifier
  • Existing block_entity_modifier's are:
    • passthrough Retains existing fields on the block entity
    • This is the default if no block_entity_modifier is specified
    • append_static Similar to previous output_nbt this provides fixed fields to add to the block entity
    • A minor change is that this modifier appends configured fields to the processed block instead of replacing existing fields
    • clear Removes any existing fields on the block entity
    • append_loot Appends a loot table and seed to the block entity through required parameter:
    • loot_table Referenced loot table to add to block entity as LootTable field
    • Field LootTableSeed is also added to the block entity using random seeded by block position

Loot Tables

Random Sequences

The game now uses named random sequences to deterministically produce loot for loot tables. Each random sequence produces a unique sequence based on the world seed and sequence ID, which means a loot table will produce the same results when ran with the same parameters in the same world.
The ID of the random sequence to use for a loot table is specified in a new optional field called random_sequence. If no sequence name is given, loot is drawn using a non-deterministic random source.

reference

New function reference allows functions to call sub-functions (similar to reference condition).
Fields: - name - location of function to call

any_of/all_of

  • Loot condition alternative has been renamed to any_of
  • Added new loot condition all_of that passes only when all sub-conditions pass
    • Has the same syntax as any_of

Advancements

New Triggers

recipe_crafted

  • Triggered when crafting a recipe
  • Conditions:
    • recipe_id - the resource location of the recipe crafted
    • ingredients - an array of predicates for the item stacks used in the recipe
    • A single item stack can only be used to fulfill one predicate
    • Each predicate needs to be fulfilled to trigger the advancement. This allows for separation between recipes that have same identifier but use different ingredients.
    • This field is optional. When not provided, or left empty, only the recipe_id will dictate the success of the trigger

Changed Triggers

  • All fields in placed_block, item_used_on_block and allay_drop_item_on_block have been collapsed into a single location field
  • The new location is similar to the player field - it is a list of loot conditions/predicates
  • All conditions in this list must match for a trigger to run
  • Conditions are evaluated in a new loot context called advancement_location. It has access to:
    • Player as this entity
    • Position of the placed block
    • Block state of the placed/interacted block
    • Held/used item as "tool"
  • Migration guide:
    • Contents of old location field should be migrated to location_check condition
    • Contents of item field should be migrated to match_tool condition
    • Contents of block + state fields should be migrated to block_state_property condition
Example (from make_a_sign_glow advancement):
Before: { "conditions": { "item": { "items": [ "minecraft:glow_ink_sac" ] }, "location": { "block": { "tag": "minecraft:all_signs" } } }, "trigger": "minecraft:item_used_on_block" } After: { "conditions": { "location": [ { "condition": "minecraft:match_tool", "predicate": { "items": [ "minecraft:glow_ink_sac" ] } }, { "condition": "minecraft:location_check", "predicate": { "block": { "tag": "minecraft:all_signs" } } } ] }, "trigger": "minecraft:item_used_on_block" }

Damage Types

  • Players outside the world border are now hurt by the damage type outside_border instead of in_wall
  • Forcibly removing an entity using the /kill command now uses damage type generic_kill instead of out_of_world

Fonts

New unihex Glyph Provider

  • New glyph provider for reading Unifont HEX files
    • HEX format describes font glyphs using a bitmap
    • The height of every glyph is 16 pixels
    • The width of glyph can be 8, 16, 24 or 32 pixels
    • Every line is made of two hexadecimal numbers separated by :
    • The first value describes a codepoint - it must have 4, 5 or 6 hex digits
    • The second value describes the glyph as a stream of bits, line by line
  • When rendering, empty columns on left and right side of glyphs are removed
    • Custom glyph widths can be set with size_overrides
  • This provider requires two fields:
    • hex_file - path to ZIP archive containing one or more *.hex files (files in archive with different extensions are ignored)
    • size_overrides - list of codepoint ranges that should have width different from auto-detected (based on empty space in glyph). Fields:
    • from, to - start and end of codepoint range (inclusive)
    • left, right - integers describing the position of the left-most and right-most columns of the glyph in range
      • Any bits in columns outside of this range will be discarded

New reference Glyph Provider

  • New glyph provider that can be used to include providers from other fonts
    • Providers are guaranteed to be loaded only once, no matter how many times they are included
  • Provider has one field id, that describes another font to be included in the currently loaded one
    • Inclusion is performed after all fonts are loaded, so it will include all providers for a given font defined in all datapacks

Removed legacy_unicode Glyph Provider

  • The legacy_unicode glyph provider has been removed
  • This functionality has been replaced by the unihex provider

Quick Play

  • Added support for four new command line arguments that allow the game to be launched directly into a world
  • quickPlayPath takes a specified path for logging (relative to the run directory)
    • If a path is provided the following will be logged upon joining a world:
    • type: is either singleplayer, multiplayer, or realms
    • identifier: represents the world you want to join
      • For singleplayer, the folder name of the world
      • For multiplayer, the IP address of the server
      • For realms, the Realms ID
    • port: represents the server port and is only logged for multiplayer
    • name: The name of the world
    • gamemode: The gamemode of the world
    • lastPlayedTime: The time you joined the world
    • Example:
    • --quickPlayPath "quickPlay/log.json" will resolve into .minecraft/quickPlay/log.json
  • quickPlaySingleplayer, quickPlayMultiplayer and quickPlayRealms all take their respective identifier
    • If one of these arguments is provided, the game will try to launch directly into the given world
    • Examples:
    • --quickPlaySingleplayer "New World"
    • --quickPlayMultiplayer "localhost:25565"
    • --quickPlayRealms "1234"

Telemetry

All Events

  • Added new property: launcher_name
    • This is set based on the minecraft.launcher.brand system property
    • This will help us troubleshoot game launch related bugs more effectively, as we will be able to see whether the issue originated in the Minecraft launcher or a third-party program

Updated Required Events

  • world_loaded
    • Added new property: realms_map_content
    • When loading into a Realms Map Content world (Minigame), the world_loaded event will receive the name of that map
    • This is to help us understand how Java Realms players interact with Java Realms adventure or minimap content

New Optional Events

  • advancement_made
    • This event is triggered when a player completes an advancement, and allows us to see the advancement ID and the time when the advancement was completed
    • This helps us as a studio understand player progress and limits, which informs our game design
  • game_load_times
    • This event is triggered when the game client is loaded
    • Includes the time it took for the client to load
    • This is so that we can work on improving and reducing the time it takes to load the game client

server.properties

  • File is now read in UTF-8 initially, with previous encoding (ISO 8859-1/Latin 1) as a fallback
  • File is now written with UTF-8 encoding

Symbolic Link Validation

To improve safety, the game will now detect symbolic links used inside world directory. For a detailed explanation, check our help article.
  • If the target of a symbolic link is not on the user-configured allow-list, the game will not proceed with loading the world
    • Note: the world directory itself can still be linked
  • The list of allowed symbolic link targets is stored in file allowed_symlinks.txt in the client or server top directory
  • The file consists of entries (one per line) with following formats allowed:
    • Lines starting with # are comments and are ignored
    • [type]pattern, where type can be glob, regex or prefix
    • prefix matches start of path with given pattern (so for /test paths /test, /test/ and /test/foo.txt would match)
    • regex matches regular expression against whole path
    • glob uses OS-specific path matching mechanism (for example *.txt would usually match files with txt extension)
    • Note: paths will use OS-specific separators
    • pattern, which uses default prefix type

return

The return command can be used to control execution flow inside functions and change their return value. Effects:
Syntax:

Before: { "conditions": { "item": { "items": [ "minecraft:glow_ink_sac" ] }, "location": { "block": { "tag": "minecraft:all_signs" } } }, "trigger": "minecraft:item_used_on_block" } After: { "conditions": { "location": [ { "condition": "minecraft:match_tool", "predicate": { "items": [ "minecraft:glow_ink_sac" ] } }, { "condition": "minecraft:location_check", "predicate": { "block": { "tag": "minecraft:all_signs" } } } ] }, "trigger": "minecraft:item_used_on_block" }

Damage Types

  • Players outside the world border are now hurt by the damage type outside_border instead of in_wall
  • Forcibly removing an entity using the /kill command now uses damage type generic_kill instead of out_of_world

Fields:

2023.06.07 05:33 Superdante12 I have some problem on Asia Server

Hi everyone, I live in the SEA region and I'm from Singapore. I know that Fortnite used to have SEA server but they remove it for some weird reason. I have a quite a good quality gaming PC which is this :
Intel Core i5 12400F Processor AFTERSHOCK M42 Frost Cooling Gigabyte B760M DS3H AX DDR4 Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti Eagle OC GDDR6X 16GB ADATA Spectrix D45G DDR4 3600 MHz (8x2) 1TB lexer NM710 Gen4 SSD 800WFSP Hydro Pro 80+ Bronze
Monitor:
24GN65R-B
LG UltraGear™ 23.8'' FHD IPS Gaming Monitor
Key Featuresexpand
144Hz Refresh Rate
Color Calibrated
IPS 1ms GtG
HDR 10
Tilt, Pivot, Height Adjustable Stand
I play on 144 hz with 144 fps by the way.
Also I use CAT 7 cable consist of 40M directly connected from the gaming router to my PC but I think I both the wrong length since I overestimate the distance from my router to PC.
MY question in this post is that is it possible that the length of the cable affected my Ping or is because I don't live in ASIA region which is Japan, korea and such ? Right now in Zero build BR my ping is around 60 -70 ms, and in the settings they stated that is around 72 ms.
Anyone with kind soul help me to solve this issue thanks :D

2023.06.06 01:16 STEVEN-PRO Chanceme for asian male applying to T20s

Demographics: Asian-American, Male, Middle Class (Will be applying for aid), Massachusetts
No hooks
Intended Major(s): Biology and environmental science (no exact major decided yet)

Academics:

Testing:

SAT: 1530 first time (740 EBRW, 790 Math) second time 1550+ predicted, took it second time on June 3rd, waiting for results

ACT: took for first time, waiting for results

Class rank: School does not rank (top 5%)
GPA: 3.99 UW

I have no idea what my weighted GPA is, but it would not be that high due to the lack of advanced courses offered in freshman/sophomore year at my school.
Coursework: 12 AP classes (through the end of senior year), will have 7 scores to report

APs sophomore year: Chemistry (4), Computer Science (5), Mandarin (5)
APs junior year: AP Calculus BC, AP Lang, AP Bio, AP Spanish
APs senior year: AP Stats, AP Lit, AP Physics Mechanics, AP Macro, AP Micro

Took highest possible courses offered by school (we can't do APs in freshman year) except Honors Spanish 3 in sophomore year due to scheduling conflicts, this led to an A- in AP spanish this year (B+ in semester 1, A in semester 2)(reason I don't have a 4.0) because I was not adequately prepped (I think I can put this in additional info)
Our school only offers around 10 APs, there are many classes offered that are "AP level" instead. I self studied AP Mandarin and plan to self study stats and macro/micro next year through out of school classes with grades. Many classes in freshman year do not even have honors (ex. spanish 2 or chemistry) but they were the highest ones I could do.

Senior Year Classes: AP Lit, AP Physics M, Multivariable Calculus (AP level course), Advanced Global Seminar (AP level course), Advanced Spanish Seminar (AP level course), Science / Experimentation 2 (AP level course), Rock Band

Awards:

Judges Award at Semi-National Robotics Competition (and other smaller robotics awards)

School's Science Award
School's "scholar" Award (Highest GPA) in Freshman Year

National Merit Semi-Finalist (not sure, but had the necessary score to get it)

AP Scholar with Distinction

Extracurriculars:

Independent initiative - Cancer Biology Research Paper at University, started this year and will be publishing in respectable IEEE paper as co-first author, attending imaging conference in NYC, worked 10hrs/week in junior year

Internship - Interned at Boston Children's Hospital with renowned Harvard Medical School Professor for 2 summers (40 hrs/week for total 8 weeks) and did virtual work during school year, regenerative biology and nervous system
Robotics - 4 years, Captain for 3 years, 2 tournaments (60 teams) won, competed at semi national comp 3 years, team community service teaching stem to young kids at elementary school, donated books through collaborations with stem authors, partnered with local non profits, 15 hours/week during school year

Environmental Organization - Co-president/founder of established nonprofit for environmental activism, established recycling at our school (school was such an L that there was no recycling), created series of environmental podcasts and submitted to national competitions (no results yet), social media, partnering with famous activists to organize assemblies, climate awareness 5k/fundraiser, partnering with state student council via my council membership to create outreach for all schools in MA, started junior year

Student Council/leadership - 3 year student council representative, 2 year MA state council representative, selected to and attending Boys' State, hours vary
Math team/club - 4 years, president/head of math team and math club for 2 years (revived math team after COVID), member of western MA ARML team, 3 hrs/week

Music - 4 year member of Rock Band, 1st chair for Alto Sax, teacher at after school organization teaching music to underprivileged kids from my community, selected to CDMMEA jr. districts, hours vary

Hospital - Selected as a junior volunteer for Mass General Hospital, patient discharge, 8 hrs/week over summer

Sports - 4 year varsity cross country, 2 year varsity track

Cultural - graduate of my local Chinese school (learned mandarin on weekends), attended for 10 years

Required recs (counselor, one stem, one humanities):

College counselor: 5/10, met with jr. year college counselor a LOT, but the counselor is leaving the school after this year (RIP) so my head of school will be writing our letters (I am at a small school). He does not know me as well as the counselor did and I have no idea if he likes me or not.

AP Calc teacher: 9/10, I did well in her class and frequently went to review content with her, I am one of her favorites and she knows me very well.

US History teacher: 7/10, I did well in her class but she does not know me that well, but she will meet with me and we will talk a lot before she writes my letter, she is also a very good letter writer

Additional optional recs:

AP Bio teacher: 8/10, I got the science award and am her second favorite student, also is related to my major, but not sure if she writes good letters

CS/robotics teacher: 8/10, I did well in her class and I am on the robotics team, she likes me a lot because she thinks I am one of the best builders she has seen.

I would replace the history rec with one of these but I was told that it was better to have a humanities rec.

Research professor: 10/10, worked hard in the lab and he thought I was exceptional.

Essay: Will likely write about my keen attention to detail and why that matters, etc
I have a private counselor who is helping me write essays for my reach schools.

School list (categories from counselor):

Safeties:
RPI ?
UConn ?
Brandeis
UMass Amherst

Targets:
BC
BU
USC ?
Tufts
UMich ?
Washu ?
Northeastern ?
Case Western

Reaches:
Harvard
Stanford
MIT ?
Yale
Princeton
Brown
Columbia
Dartmouth
Cornell ?
Northwestern
UPenn
UChicago
UCLA
UCB
Other UCs ?

Questions:

Should I change the order of any of the ecs?

Is my counselor rec a cause of concern? Should I switch any recs? Which additional recs should I choose from?

Should I take college courses over the summer to get more course rigor?

Should I take AP ES?

I have 26 (not counting other UCs) schools on my list right now, the ones with question marks are the ones that I am unsure if I should apply to. I have heard that specifically MIT and Yale will be harder for me because it is harder to get in as an asian male in stem. Any suggestions for edits?

2023.06.05 09:53 Downtown-Cap210 Get healthy and thick hair

How does PRP treatment function?
PRP treatment is an in-facility treatment that includes three stages. First blood is drawn, for the most part from your arm. It is then placed in a rotator to isolate the blood plasma — the substance that is wealthy in platelets which ad hair development. The specialist then infuses the platelet-rich plasms onto your scalp, zeroing in on regions that need more hair development. An incredible aspect concerning this treatment is that it makes negligible side impacts, and is very much endured by most patients. A few patients might feel a touch of irritation at the infusion site, which backs away soon after the treatment.
However, try not to anticipate the moment benefits of PRP. Our PCPs suggest a progression of four medicines a month separated, trailed by support medicines at regular intervals. The specific therapy plan and timetable rely upon the degree and nature of your balding and your age, chemicals, and hereditary cosmetics. Most patients begin seeing better hair development after their third or fourth session of PRP in Bangalore.
Does PRP truly assist with further developing balding?
There has been a lot of exploration on PRP treatment and it is an FDA-supported methodology. There are various continuous investigations on the adequacy of PRP for balding, thus far, the exploration has been promising. A recent report in India took a gander at a gathering of patients with male-design sparseness who utilized endorsed meds, yet saw little change in their hair development. After four PRP medicines, they developed around 30% more in diminishing regions. A recent report out of Italy likewise found male patients had expanded hair and thickness in regions where specialists utilized PRP treatment.
Who is PRP the most appropriate for?
PRP is protected and successful for some individuals — all kinds of people. Individuals experiencing androgenetic alopecia, which is referred to among men as male-design sparseness and among people for prompting slender hair all around the head are the most widely recognized possibility for PRP in Bangalore. PRP treatment works better if you are going bald later, as it is more difficult to “awaken” hair follicles that have been lethargic for quite a while.
In any case, it isn’t appropriate for individuals experiencing specific circumstances like thyroid sickness or lupus, because these circumstances will keep on causing going bald over the long run. Assuming you are on blood more slender prescriptions, or experience the ill effects of draining issues, thickening problems or hepatitis, then the nature of your platelets may not be sufficient for PRP treatment.
Are there dangers to PRP treatment?
Hair loss treatment in Bangalore for hair rebuilding is protected and makes practically no side impacts and no personal time. Nonetheless, you genuinely should seek treatment from an authorized and prepared dermatologist. A dermatologist will want to appropriately survey you, comprehend the main drivers for your going bald, and make a thorough treatment plan that might incorporate drugs and enhancements alongside PRP treatment to obtain the best outcomes.
In general, there is a motivation behind why more specialists and patients are picking PRP treatment for hair reclamation. While it requires persistence, the outcomes can be a brilliant help to any individual who has endured the wretchedness of losing their hair. Since it utilizes your blood and works by working on the well-being of your hair follicles, you get your lovely hair back normally and securely!

2023.06.04 04:38 Competitive_Army_196 Looking for LCOL but normal/good pay in acct field. Retirement savings good taxes, water supply not drying, lesser crime, etc.

Got my BA in ACCT might get my MACC or do rando courses and take CPA. But also may move if can get a job (i can) right now with some superv exp/costruc work but entry level acct 0 exp.
I am looking to go to state seasons are fine (ie winter, summer, fall, etc all fine.)
dont want like TX, FL, CA, NYC, WA, DE, NJ, AZ, NM.
I like the middle area more i think like WY,SD,ND,WI,OH,IN,IL,IA,MS,AL.GA.SC.NC,VA,WV,KY,KS,NE,TN,ETC.
only concern with colder spots are: Asthma (dont like the congest feeling from wild coldness), old people (dont want sick or slip and boom taken out by some stupid harsh winter when they prob could get 20+ years still)
I want to get like a LCOL with a good pay. So I can have animals, land, home, etc at kind of younger age. Temps arent 2 concerning, crime rates/rising big factor, enviroment/natural disasters are a concern (ie dont want wildfires ie CA or i 10/20 years for my area to be struggling for Water (AZ)?).
Not that I plan 2, but I would prefer a "logical" idea for gun stuff, mostly with this is just if someone is breaking into my home/still on my prop/ attacking me/ being a danger (crime going up i dont want to get charged on some BS if someone tries to rob/home invade) (NJ),
I would prefer low retirement tax implications (this would not be for my ie not for my 401k withdraw but for elderly people who I will be taking care of their disburstments ie SS/ annuity/ forget other shit but perhaps a benefit state to the. On that topic a state with no inheritance/death tax.
medical care/something within 4 hours for major surgery pref ie cancer (sure most places have this i not could use plane/drive from Lcol savings (doubt needed 4 me, old people mb but both good health, poor knees. a decent cancer screening state would b good (do those rankings even exist?)
States with entertainment of some level would be a plus:
really anything just need something:
ie i like Bball, (Indiana (maybe lcol with high pay), bull riding/horse riding (viewing not doing) might b cool, golfing (for old people not me), socialization opportunities for old people maybe?, swimming, fishing, catfishing, sewing, farming, hunting, gardening, mudfishing, College football clubs, nba teams, nfl teams, mlb, museaum, historical marks, hiking trails, national parks, scenery.
One day in my LCOL decent/high pay job I hope to have someone working for me that can solve these questions so I dont have to both yall. Also if needed I dont have a ACCT focus. I do like taxes (dont know anything at all from college at all at all.) I dont mind other ie just standard act1 etc. jobs. I have few years supervisor exp and lots of years for construction fam business. I plan to like on applications if I cant get anything 55k+ legit ie 3 year supervisor? 3 year supervisor that used _____ required skill for 1 year, ads/customer service/ job req/ finance planning/budgeting @ construction ( I did actually do this just in no way what a pro co. would do more like hours as a kid figuring our product price/costs/ pricing/ft etc. I can say I did that family business for 8+ years idk how that looks resume wise but I include skills in there a job might want ie communication or whatever.
for the like req skills somehting like
bill dot com or
quickbooks
pivot/vlookup
sql
would few dedicated hours of yt not get me to a beg level to start a job? like Bill dot com get invoice bring to there, document how Co. wants??
sql will get my ass but not applying for many with that in req.
Thank yall

for initial home looking 3 be 2 bath 3+ acres, if in cheap lcol then 3bed 2 bath 10+ acre. wouldnt mind 2 angus 1 dairy cows, chickens, garden (havent hcosen size yet not big deal), water supply if possible, need ac/some newer stuff (dont want to buy some shitter that needs hella fixing ie fucked roof or shitty porch etc.
trying to stay between 200/700k settlling more at that 350-550 range.

Featured:

Since i get maxxed out on these posts, I am only posting NEW material here today. [GO HERE PMS] for my total inventory.
Grading. Grades are approximated and used to price point the coin. If you see something on a coin that you believe alters the grade, send a chat and, let's discuss it. In previous posts, I have had absolutely NO extra space to get wordy as you get cut off at like 40,000 some such characters. With the spreadsheet links, I can now get into more details about a coin, but not Im going to retroactively adjust descriptions.
Details, cleaned or polished means this coin will not likely grade and refers to the most obvious examples. That does not mean that one that is not designated as such will grade. I do not consider a dipped coin a details designation. Cleaned to me means there are cleaning lines, and often in the eyes of a grading company it is a matter of degree. Most mid-1800s proof coins have cleaning lines that are straight-graded. Typically I do not designate a coin with modest cleaning lines as cleaned or other minor detractors that MAY hold back a straight grade but instead, place a lower price on it. Many of these raw coins will not straight grade. Again, Im only going to call out the obvious examples, and we can discuss any coin you need more info on to make a decision. If you are planning on submitting your coin, please ask if I think the coin will grade. Early copper for instance is notorious for environmental damage yet the coin is still attractive for the type set collector. Again if you are planning on getting a coin graded or even just want more confidence about it, let's review the coin under a microscope and even UV light, etc, video.
I use "Making the Grade" Third edition primarily to estimate grades and PCGS Photograde secondarily. I also use the narrow definition of Scott travers when calling a coin uncirculated (no breaking in luster on the high points). Often, I have a coin slabbed in my PC that serves as a comparison. BU to me means a very choice example of an uncirculated. MS62-MS66. IF YOU ARE NOT happy with your purchase SAY SO. Don't be shy. Full refunds for coins that do not meet your expectations are encouraged.

Since i get maxxed out on these posts, I am only posting NEW material here today. [GO HERE PMS] and [ HERE for Clad] for my total inventory.

2023.06.04 02:20 Competitive_Army_196 Best State/Area move to for accounting after college?

Thank yall

2023.06.03 16:49 Trapperz1379 DDG conversions: Upgrades, People, Upgrades

DDG conversions: Upgrades, People, Upgrades
Back by likely zero demand, Thought I would do another one of these about missile conversions because why let DE have all the fun?
It is best to mention if a faction is not mentioned it's either that it was a conversion I was unaware of or that they simply didn't have one. Also to once again specify this post is specifically destroyers, before half the comment start asking about the Boston or Garibaldi conversions.
May do one on as-designed DDG's at a later date depending on how well/poorly this is received.
Apologies in advance for errors, felt digging through actual books would be overkill for this.
Without further ado:
Eagle Union
USS Gyatt (DDG-1)
Gyatt during firing trails circa 1957.
Originally built as a Gearing class1, she was commissioned in July 1945, too late to play a role in the second world war. She would spend the next few years making goodwill trips around the Americas and patrolling European waters before being docked in 1955 for her conversion.
In addition to the twin-armed “Terrier” launcher in lieu of her rear turret, she would also be fitted with retractable stabilisation fins as well as an updated AA battery.
She would subsequently see further use for testing until finally being decommissioned in 1969 and later sunk as a target in 1970.
USS Mitscher (DDG-35) & USS John S. McCain (DDG-36)

John S. McCain underway shortly after her rebuild, 1969.
The Mitscher class was a group of four large experimental destroyers that were all built with various propulsion layouts in order to test which was most effective for future projects. While said propulsion systems were more efficient compared to existing classes, it was considered extremely maintenance heavy and complex to the degree that Mischer & John S. McCain would later have their boilers replaced.
In the mid-1960s the class would be selected to undergo modernisation to guided missile destroyers, with a single armed “Tartar” launcher mounted super firing the rear turret and an ASROC launcher super firing fore, However only the two of the ships would receive the refit due to it being considered unsatisfactory.
As a result of their repeated propulsion issues, the two unconverted ships were withdrawn from service by the end of the 60's while the modernised ones would only go on to serve until the late 70’s
Northern Parliament
SN Bravy (Pr. 56-K) & Pr. 56-A

Aerial view of Pr. 56-A destroyer Nakhodchivy
Designed as a more practical version of the destroyer Neustrashimy, Project 56 was intended to replace the many WW2 era-destroyers that had either been lost or were otherwise unsuitable for modernisation. While initially roughly 100 were planned, this would be greatly reduced due to various factors.
During a reassessment of the Red Navy’s needs, The Soviet admiralty realised that a stronger focus on ASW was needed as well as an increasing number of foreign warships armed with SAM’s, the latter resulting in the destroyer Bravy being selected as a test bed for a twin mount of the M-1 Volna2 which would require the removal of her rear turret. Following the successful trials an additional eight destroyers would undergo similar rebuilds with the designation of Project 56-A.
Bravy would continue a normal service that was relatively quiet, The main exception being an incident in 1970 where she collided with HMS Ark Royal while shadowing the carrier, and was finally withdrawn in 1987.
Iris Orthodoxy
T 47 AAW & ASW Modernisations

Bouvet following her AAW modification.
The T 47 class were some of the first ships to be built by France following the second world war, however the design itself was based off that of a modified Le Hardi class3 . They were intended to act as carrier escorts and made with an emphasis on AA capability (something that WW2 had shown was of much importance).
By the mid-60’s it was deemed necessary to update their armament, with the modernisations being done in three batches; Flotilla Flagships, Anti-Air (AAW) & Anti-Submarine (ASW). Both the AAW & ASW batches would have their rear gun replaced (Have you noticed a pattern yet) with Missile launchers, A single armed “Tartar” and a Malafon launcher on the two batches respectively. The AAW batch would further loose all of their main battery turrets while the ASW would instead replace them with two single 100 mm turrets (one fore, one aft)
All ships would serve for several years, the flagship batch being decommissioned in the 70’s while the AAW & ASW batches would continue until the 80’s, with Maillé-Brézé later becoming a museum ship.
Missile info
Terrier - The RIM-2 Terrier was a medium-range surface-to-air missile system developed by the United States from Project Bumblebee that entered service in mid 50’s and was primarily used to arm cruisers and frigates4. While initially only having a range of 10 nmi (19 km), the missile would quickly receive many upgrades, with the final variant having a maximum range of 40 nmi (74 km).
Tartar - The RIM-24 Tartar was a medium-range surface-to-air missile system based on the larger Terrier system. While having less range than its counterpart, it was much lighter which allowed it to be mounted on smaller ships and was subsequently used to arm destroyers. The original version had a range of 8.7 nmi (16.1 km), with later models improving this to 17.5 nmi (32.4 km)
Volna - The M-1 Volna was the naval version of the S-125 Neva, a missile system developed by the Soviets intended for use against low flying targets. The early versions of the system had a range of 8 nmi (15 km) while later versions could reach up to roughly 11.9 nmi (22 km). As a side effect of it’s ability to engage at very low altitude it could also double as a anti-ship weapon.
Malafon - The Malafon5 was an anti-submarine missile system designed by France in order to take advantage of the increased range submarines could be detected at via towed sonar. The missile system was effectively a homing torpedo strapped to a glider, Said glider would be guided to within approximately 800 m (2,600 ft) of the target before the torpedo was ejected into the sea and began to search for the target. The gilder was estimated to have an effective range of 7 nmi (13 km) while the torpedo itself had a range of roughly 2.7 nmi (5 km)

Notes:
1 - Effectively an enlarged repeat of the Sumner class
2 - Given the NATO designation “Goa”
3 - Although some sources I’ve found claim the basis was Mogador
4 - Between the 1950-1970’s. the USN used the term “frigate” to refer to destroyer leaders
5 - Short for Marine Latécoère Fonds

2023.06.03 15:39 Ayyy-ron2424 First trip, Straddle and Paddle MN and MS-150.

First trip, Straddle and Paddle MN and MS-150.
Loaded down and ready to roll out tomorrow morning. Starting in Tofte MN, riding the Straddle and Paddle route through Grand Marais and into Superior National Forest, ending that portion back in Tofte then I am heading to Duluth to meet up with my team to ride the MS-150 back to the Twin Cities. Roughly 500 miles over 8 days. I have been an avid cyclist for the better part of 15 years, even working as a courier for a few years in MPLS, but this will definitely be the most challanging feat of my cycling career.
Any well wishes are greatly appreciated! Happy trails yall. Hope everyone gets a little trail magic today. Rubber side down!

There will be a shuttle planned to allow for a 3-mile hike through, performing work along the way. No previous experience required and all ages are welcome.
