Unsure of what parts to upgrade on a four-year-old PC.

2023.06.10 10:11 AvtomatNikonov94 Unsure of what parts to upgrade on a four-year-old PC.

Hello all. Acqquired a hand me down PC a year or so ago, and i'm looking for an upgrade. Mainly using for gaming (MW2, Tarkov, Squad, Ready or Not, CSGO, etc.). not worried about aesthetics or have any bias for manufacturers (except the msi mech gpus). budget is around max $600 AUS (~$405 USD). if it's gpu, maybe more. I've provided the pcpartpicker list (hopefully markdown works) for my current parts, not sure about what exact PSU i have however.
Thanks in advance.

2023.06.10 09:00 unsettled_soul AMA: Chartered Accountant with an experience of 2 years in Banking and Exports

Hey there!
I qualified as a CA in 2021. Working in an MNC(manufacturing/mining).
Currently I’m the single point of contact for the exports business in the state I’m currently posted. I deal with Letter of Credit discounting, finalising price deals and contracts, realising money and savings of interest in the process. International banking being the core of all.
Prior to this, I was with a private bank and was in the retail assets section. Mostly dealt with loans and mortgages. But that was for a very brief period of time(3 months).
I guess that gives a bird eye view of my roles and experiences.
Must add, I had my own fair share of personal and professional issues while I was going through the course, wherein I started prioritising my mental health. And I understand, there would be many like me now.
This course did not only gave me a prefix CA before my name, but taught me a lot of stuffs on the personal level.
I’d be happy to answer your queries about preparations, mental health during the exams, post qualification to-dos, industry I’m currently in, exports and anything related.
Kindly restrict to comments please. Thanks!

2023.06.10 08:29 heypete1 Review: Action Enhancement Trigger & Duty/Carry Kit for M&P Shield

Hi all,
A few weeks ago I bought a CA-compliant S&W Shield. It's a neat little gun, fits comfortably in my hands, and conceals well. I like it, with the exception of the awful trigger: the segmented trigger feels odd to my hand, the trigger pull weight is quite heavy, and mine felt a bit gritty (I attribute this partly to the segmented trigger safety not always fully disengaging depending on my finger position so it drags a bit, and partly to the sear).
The heavy, gritty trigger pull resulted in the gun pulling noticeably toward the direction of the hand that was shooting it (I'm left handed, and it pulled to the left when fired. When I fired right handed, it pulled to the right.). This happened even with slow, careful, and deliberate trigger squeezes and was especially noticeable when firing one-handed (a firm two-handed grip reduces but does not eliminate the pulling). It doesn't happen on any of my other pistols, only the Shield.
After some reading here and elsewhere, I decided to get an Apex trigger and Duty/Carry kit, specifically this model, and install it. Total installation took about an hour.
Holy cow, it makes an incredible difference. Why didn't S&W include this type of trigger and sear from the factory?
Some tips to be aware of (that is, learn from my mistakes):
  1. The instructional videos state that you need roll pin punches, flat-faced pin punches, a hammer, and a smooth-jaw vise. They are not lying. Be sure you have those tools. I couldn't find my punches (my tool cabinet was disorganized) and tried numerous other objects in an attempt to drive out the pins in the Shield, to no avail. Finally I was able to find them and the pins came out much more easily. The vise is virtually required to get the trigger connected to the trigger bar since the pin really does not want to budge even when vigorously hammered.
  2. The videos also recommend that one use the little piece of cardboard that came with the kit as a spacer when assembling the trigger. Do this. It's a bit of a tight fit with the cardboard, but it's useful at preventing the trigger from binding by being crushed in the vise.
  3. Take pictures of how things are assembled from the factory, as well as at each step of disassembly. It'll save a lot of frustration putting it back together.
  4. For whatever reason, the videos on the combined trigger & duty/carry kit page are for just the trigger itself, but don't have the videos for the duty/carry kit (i.e., the sear and sear spring) installation. You can find the first part of the sear kit video here (direct YouTube link). Part 2 of the video is available at this direct YouTube link.
  5. I found this video from Apex to be even better, and it goes through the entire process from start to finish in great detail and less-blurry video. I'd say this is the definitive guide for this entire kit.
  6. Of particular note, the "slave pin" (in my case, a little green plastic pin that came with the kit) was immensely useful at holding the trigger spring into the trigger during reassembly -- you can reassemble the trigger without the pin holding the spring in the trigger assembly but it's a lot harder. Ask me how I know.
  7. When you have the sear block assembly out of the gun's frame, be sure to put a drop of oil on some of the parts there: some oil on the sides and bottom of the sear helps it function smoothly, and some oil where the safety switch engages with the thumb safety retainer plunger (it's on the left side and is silver in color, it's hard to miss) helps the safety feel a lot smoother.
  8. Installing the replacement striker block/drop safety requires drifting the rear sight to the left, removing the old striker block, and installing the new one. I didn't want to deal with that right now, so I kept the original one in. It still feels great.
That said, the installation was straightforward. I just followed the directions in the video step by step, swore at the pins for being hard to get out, and in the end the gun's functioning is much improved.
The trigger pull is much improved with no grittiness and a clean, crisp break. The sideways pulling mentioned above no longer occurs. The reset seems much less distinct (it's a quieter click than with my Glocks) but can still be felt. The Glock-style split-trigger safety on the Apex trigger is much easier and more comfortable than the S&W segmented factory trigger -- the central safety nub disengages much more completely when the trigger is pulled and does not drag on the frame. The Apex trigger spring reduces the pull weight of the trigger to about 5.5 pounds, which is much improved over the standard Shield and is still very safe (it's comparable to standard Glock trigger pull weights).
In short, the Apex kit turns the Shield from a solid gun with a "meh" trigger into a solid gun with a really good trigger. I'm not going to lie and say the gun with the kit is some ultra awesome match gun that will win you fame and glory or turn you into John Wick, because it's not and it won't, but it's a significant improvement on the factory trigger and is well worth the money.
Disclosure: I am not affiliated with S&W or Apex in any way beyond being a paying customer. I purchased the gun and kit with my own money at retail prices, was not given any sort of consideration or perks for writing this, neither company asked me to or even knew that I was going to write this, and I do not benefit in any way from them or anyone else for writing this.

2023.06.10 08:18 ozzydozen Real estate is looking insanely bleak.

OFFICE -WFH is still a thing. -Many urban core area still overwhelmed by chronic drug addiction and homelessness. -Major users of urban core office are downsizing and shedding excess capacity, driving up vacancy rates. -This depresses income when interest rates have skyrocketed. -Default waves just beginning - trillions of notes coming due in 2-4 years.
RETAIL Some crisis already priced in pre COVID, since brick and mortar has been under siege by Amazon for years already. Empty business districts have accelerated the contraction in urban shopping districts and shoppi ng centers, but suburban attrition was already well under way and repurposing ipriceeding at a steady pace.
INDUSTRAL ai know jack shit about industrial.
MULTIFAMILY Not looking great since interest rates are high and the major lenders are nervous chickenshits, terrified to exceed 50% LTV. Less financing is depressing prices, as is the fall on homes prices which compete against rental prices.
Moreover tenant advocacy lobbies have gained ground in many US cities and states, making deals with governments to advance legislation that incrementally encroaches on the rights of property owners. These laws are making the business environment more and more costly and all aim for the ultimate goal of rent control and vacancy control.
In sum, real estate, a staple of hnw family portfolios, faces a high degree of uncertainty in the short, medium and even long term in many US markets.

2023.06.10 08:10 Longjumping_Gear_753 Looking to move into Little Hall?

I'm looking for a person who I'll transfer my lease to in Little Hall due to a medical reason. It is $ 385 per week for a twin studio (the cheapest option here) and I'd say it's a fairly good value for price considering how crazy the rental market is these days. Little hall is the newest and fairly well run student accommodation at unimelb. You get to enjoy the common areas with nice views and some free coffee and tea bags as well as fun acticities held throughout the year. I'll be vacating the room from 20 June onwards. Also, you have to be a unimelb student to reside in Little Hall. Let me know if you are interested!

2023.06.10 06:48 rylanwatches The Most Popular Watch Replica Brands and How to Spot a Good Quality One

Introduction to watch replicas and their popularity
Watch replicas, or fake watches, have become increasingly popular in recent years. These replicas are designed to look like high-end luxury watches from well-known brands, but are sold at a fraction of the cost [1]. The quality of these replicas can vary greatly, ranging from low-quality imitations to high-quality replicas that closely resemble the real thing [2]. Despite the risks involved in purchasing fake watches, their popularity continues to grow. In this article, we will discuss the most popular watch replica brands and how to spot a good quality one.
The appeal of counterfeit timepieces can be traced back to a number of different reasons. To countless individuals, burdening oneself with the exorbitant expense of a luxurious watch is not within their means. Duplicates present a less expensive avenue that enables people to relish in the semblance and sensation of an opulent watch while avoiding financial strain [3]. On top of that, particular people may just fancy the fashion of an exclusive timepiece but do not possess the funds or the desire to pay for the true product. Including legal aftermath and harm to the watch industry, there are notable risks when buying counterfeit watches. It's important to be aware of this fact. [4]
Purchasing a replica watch can come with its share of risks, especially if you desire a high-quality imitation [5]. Although low-quality replicas can be quickly spotted, the authentic-looking ones can be difficult to differentiate from the genuine article [6]. If you are looking to shop for replica watches, it is vital to conduct thorough research on the seller and examine the reviews as well as other watch options available before committing to a purchase [6]. We must also remember that purchasing counterfeit watches only strengthens the counterfeit industry, which destabilizes not only the watch market but also the economy as a whole [7]. While buying replicas may be a more cost-saving option, it is important to weigh the advantages and risks, and make a wise choice before you finalize the sale.
Watch aficionados have a range of replica brands to select from, but a few are particularly sought-after. These big-name fakes are a favourite among those who want the style and prestige of an expensive watch without breaking the bank. So, what are the most popular watches brands to copy? There are a variety of options to consider, including Rolex, Breitling, and Omega. These brands are in high demand for their quality craftsmanship and recognizable style. When selecting a watch, it's critical to conduct research to ensure that the chosen replica meets your requirements and is constructed of high-quality materials.
The replica watch market is flooded with brands like Rolex, Omega, and Breitling, all of which have garnered significant popularity. Surpassing all other replicas is the Rolex range, known for its luxurious status and high resale value. But, to avoid disappointment, an intelligent purchase is important, hence quality checks should not be ignored. An ideal way to find a good quality replica watch is by relying on trusted secondary-market dealers or authorized retailers. [6]. Additionally, checking the serial and case reference numbers can help determine if a Rolex watch is genuine or fake [9].
Omega replicas are also widely available and popular among watch enthusiasts. The Omega Seamaster and Omega Speedmaster are two of the most popular series for replica watches [10]. To ensure the authenticity of an Omega watch, buyers can check the serial number and have the movement examined by a watchmaker [11][12]. Some of the most popular replica Omega watches include the Noob Planet Ocean 42mm Liquidmetal [13].
Breitling is another popular brand for replica watches. The Breitling Navitimer, Breitling Avenger, and Breitling Chronomat B01 are some of the most commonly replicated models [14]. To spot a fake Breitling watch, buyers should look for red flags such as inconsistencies in the logo or craftsmanship [15]. It is also important to be cautious when purchasing vintage or discontinued models, as these are often targeted by counterfeiters [1]. Overall, when considering a replica watch purchase, it is important to do thorough research and buy from a reputable dealer to ensure a good quality product.
Identifying a good quality watch replica
When it comes to identifying a good quality watch replica, there are several factors to consider. Firstly, the materials used in the watch's construction can provide an indication of its quality. Genuine luxury watches tend to be made from high-quality materials such as gold, platinum, and sapphire crystal, while cheaper replicas may use lower quality materials [1]. Additionally, genuine watches tend to be heavier than replicas due to the quality of the materials used [16] [17]. However, some luxury brands such as Bulgari and Richard Mille make extremely lightweight watches using materials such as titanium [17]. Thus, it is important to research the specific brand and model to determine the materials that should be used in a high-quality replica.
Attention to detail is another crucial factor in identifying a good quality watch replica. High-quality replicas should exhibit the same level of craftsmanship and precision as the original luxury watch. This includes details such as the logo, engravings, and finishing of the watch. A reputable manufacturer of watch replicas will take pride in offering exceptional quality and attention to detail, ensuring that the replica is as close to the original as possible [3]. On the other hand, low-quality replicas may exhibit flaws in their finishing or engravings, or may even have misspelled words or incorrect logos [6].
Finally, the accuracy of timekeeping is an important factor in identifying a good quality watch replica. While some replicas may use high-quality movements, others may use cheaper movements that do not keep accurate time [2]. It is important to research the specific brand and model to determine the type of movement that should be used in a high-quality replica. Additionally, inspecting the second hand of the watch can provide an indication of its authenticity, as genuine luxury watches tend to have a smooth, uninterrupted motion [18]. Ultimately, purchasing a watch replica from a reputable dealer or authorized retailer is the safest way to ensure its authenticity and quality [19] [20].
Tips for buying a good quality watch replica
When buying a watch replica, it is crucial to research the seller to ensure that they are trustworthy and reputable. Look for reviews and feedback from previous customers to determine the seller's reliability [6]. The most popular watch replica brands are Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Panerai, Breitling, and Omega, so it is important to be extra cautious when purchasing replicas of these brands [4]. However, it is also possible to find fakes of lesser-known Swiss brands like Ulysse Nardin and Corum, as well as watchmakers from outside of Switzerland like Seiko and Sinn [1]. Therefore, it is essential to do your research before making a purchase.
In addition to researching the seller, it is important to ask for detailed photos and information about the watch replica. This can help you determine if there are any defects or imperfections in the watch [19]. Look for unfinished edges, improper polish, scratches, and wrong markings or engravings, as these are all signs of a fake [21]. You can also do a reverse image search to see if the same images are being used by multiple sellers, which could indicate that the watch is a replica [22]. By asking for detailed information and photos, you can better assess the quality of the watch replica and make an informed decision.
Checking customer reviews is another important factor when buying a good quality watch replica. Look for reviews from previous customers who have purchased the same watch replica to get an idea of the quality and authenticity of the watch [6]. It is also a good idea to check the reputation of the seller on Google or other review sites [23]. By doing your due diligence and checking customer reviews, you can ensure that you are buying a good quality watch replica and avoid scams or low-quality replicas.
Conclusion and final thoughts
When it comes to purchasing a replica watch, it is important to be aware of the risks involved. While there are good quality replicas available, there are also many low-quality fakes on the market [24]. It is crucial to do your research and only purchase from reputable sellers [6]. The most popular watch brands that are often replicated include Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Panerai, Breitling, and Omega. However, it is also possible to find replicas of lesser-known Swiss brands and even watchmakers from outside of Switzerland [1].
Despite the risks, owning a good quality replica watch can have its benefits. For one, it allows individuals to enjoy the look and feel of a luxury timepiece without the high price tag [8]. Additionally, some replicas are produced with a higher quality than others, making them a viable option for those who appreciate fine craftsmanship.
In conclusion, if you are considering purchasing a replica watch, it is important to understand the risks involved and do your research before purchasing. Look for a reputable seller and pay attention to the quality of the watch. While owning a replica has its benefits, ultimately it's up to the individual to decide whether the potential risk is worth it.

2023.06.10 06:06 malcontent75 Seeking to fulfill a dying friend's wish to possess a Mach-E

First off, I promise this isn't a scam. One of my closest friends was just diagnosed at age 52 with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer with metastasis to liver. He probably has about a year to live. After securing the future of his family, his most fervent wish has been to possess an EV. With two kids in college (one rising sophomore, one rising junior), his wife's response prior to this diagnosis has been "not now, honey." I would like to give him some true joy in his remaining days by securing him a Mach-E to drive (first choice, willing to consider other options of course (esp. Kia) but probably not a Tesla). He can't fly now due to blood clots on his lungs, so road trips with the family while they are all together this summer would be extremely special.
Please share any information you have on promising lease (shorter than Ford's general offer of 3 mos.) or longer-term rental arrangements, and of course if someone was interested in donating use that would be amazing, but that's not my expectation for this post. I'd love for him to have it for as long as he's able to drive but am willing to consider as short as a month. We're in Wyoming, but willing to drive a good distance (including to CA) to pick up and return the car. Please share any info you have about commercial opportunities that might align with what I've spelled out and PM me if you're willing to discuss the possibility of a private arrangement. Thanks for your consideration and above all, live life to the fullest! ML

2023.06.10 06:06 ITriedM8 Real Estate Value Comparison - Toorak vs Bel Air

https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-vic-toorak-141519904
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2169-Roscomare-Rd-Los-Angeles-CA-90077/20530121_zpid/
Extreme pricing examples used to see the greatest contrast of value so it is most distinguishable. One from Toorak the other from Bel Air.
Lot size of Toorak property is 0.36 acres and Bel Air property is 0.30 acres. Bel Air property floorspace is 517 square meters and Toorak property is not listed though visibly a lot less.
According to 2021 data median household income in Toorak was $131,716 and median household income in Bel Air was $256,436.
Australian government policies that increase demand in residential real estate have made residential real estate one of the most if not the most profitable asset to invest in which has lead to lower standards of living due to speculative pricing.

2023.06.10 05:53 Ok-Button6101 mid 30s brother starting the nomad life. What can I get him to prepare him?

He got priced out of his city and decided that, since he works remotely full time, that there's no reason he has to stay in the area. He plans to move to a different state and just stay in an airbnb or some other long term rental that he can find for a few weeks, or up to a month, and then move onto the next city or state.
Most of his stuff is going into storage. He's going to be doing lots of driving, and he's going to be living in temporary living arrangements with a minimal version of all his stuff. What's something I can get him that be useful to him while he's doing this new experience/adventure? My fear is that most physical items will just be something that he'll add to the pile in storage and not see for months. Oh, and I'm getting this for him for his birthday, which is right before his last day at his apartment, in case that makes any difference.
I typically just buy him things for his birthday but this year it doesn't seem appropriate, so I'm looking for pretty much anything that'll benefit him on this adventure. Useful things he can use, or something he can experience (he's traveling up the entire length of the west coast on july 4th weekend, in case that helps with ideas for things to do), or even things that maybe dont cost money? I'm just looking for something that he'll be able to use in some way, and I have never lived like this. I haven't even had a road trip lasting more than 5 hours in the last 15 years. And I'd like to keep it under $100.
Any ideas are appreciated, thanks!

2023.06.10 05:50 SunnyLVTHN HELP!!! PC Black screening during gaming

I'm at my wits end here and I've done everything I can possibly think of.
**Problem:**On games like Diablo 4, The Returnal, Final Fantasy 15, my PC will randomly black screen within an hour of play. The display will turn off and disconnect along with my Xbox controller and my keyboard. Unplugging and re-plugging it doesn't work. I cant bring up the task manager or reset the GPU with hotkeys. This in return, forces me to manually force shut down my PC. I took this into a PC repair store and even they are stumped on what to do. We've ran Heaven benchmark, Cinebench, and test mem and everything came out fine.
Attempted Solutions:
Thank you for you time for reading this. Any advice and tips are appreciated!

2023.06.10 05:37 plerovight It appears the honeymoon is over :(

Same thing happened with Uber Rides as when I started Uber Eats and DoorDash. The first week I make a ton with lots of orders. Then after that it slows way way down.
Last Friday I got tons of rides and made a lot. Today I got three earlier in the day (two from the same person since I was waiting for another trip near where I dropped him off for like half an hour). I started up again at 9pm until 11. And didn't get a single trip. On a Friday night in a big city. I did get a couple good paying Uber Eats orders though.
I'm currently renting a car to do rides, and for the first week it was worth it, I made more even after the rental price. This week, I'll probably make less than my pre-rides average. So probably not going to rent anymore or do rides until I buy a car.

2023.06.10 05:03 chlwong Need to get some opinions on my build. RX 6800XT vs RTX 4070 vs RX 6950XT

I'm looking at finally doing a full new build from my current 1060 6gb. I'm trying to keep costs below $2,000 CAD - lower the better.
TLDR:: It's between RX6800XT, RTX4070, and RX6950XT.
I'm re-using my storage drives and fans, but kinda stuck on the GPU right now. Been through a rabbit hole of which of the 3 I should get and figured i'd drop a post here to see what people think of the build so far.
Timing isn't an issue - I don't mind keeping an eye on deals.
I guess one big question I keep running into is "If prices all being equal, which of the 3 should I be getting if I don't plan on upgrading in the next couples years?" I don't care that much about RT or DLSS or FSR, just looking for the best option right now, but I do use my PC for editing photos using adobe (not sure if that matters much)
Why i'm hesitant on each one? RX 6800XT -- mainly want to do some SLIGHT future proofing. The RX 6950XT is only a little more expensive so why not spend a little bit more for the extra performance?
RTX 4070 -- Lower VRAM. Might be an issue in the future because I do enjoy some of the AAA games and would like to play those with higher visuals. A little more pricey it seems but looks like the price is dropping to be similar to the other 2.
RX 69050XT -- Giganto card and reading about how much power it uses. I'm not entirely sure it's that big a deal to me but wanted to hear other people's thoughts about it. Is the extra cost worth it including the power consumption?

2023.06.10 04:31 bsanchez1660 Tips for Disneyworld with a 3mo old?

Hello! My family of 4 is planning a trip to Disney this August before school starts.
I know it may not be ideal taking a newborn but this trip has been promised to my 11 year old for a few years now and we don’t mind. ;)
The main thing I am looking for is the best hotels to stay at for families toting around an infant. I see in many of the reviews that it’s a long walk or some of the properties have many stairs etc. not convenient for strollers. Long delays in getting a crib delivered to the room, etc.
We’re hoping to stay in a moderate priced Disney property or nearby resort with easy access to the parks and a good pool. We will most likely be booking through Costco Travel.
In addition to hotels I am looking for info and experience on logistics - Would it be more convenient to take the shuttle, an Uber, or just drive ourselves? We’ll have a Turo rental.
And just general tips for the parks with a newborn. Best places to take a break from the heat and breastfeed, etc.

2023.06.10 04:21 416_LateNights In your opinion what has caused such a bad lack of housing?

AirBnB
Slow permit processing
High immigration
Extremely low interest rates for far too long, letting too many people unecessarily buy a second or third home
Conglomeration of housing/apartment units under REITS who can afford to make mortgage payments despite vacancies and therefore putting a floor in rental and home prices
Lack of support and funding for public housing
Excessive public and private deficit spending causing massive inflation due to excessive money printing of CAD
I understand it's a highly complex issue and all of these have played a huge role. If you could enact a plan, one for immediate relief and one for long term relief, what would it be?
Interested to hear people's thoughts.
