2023.06.01 13:02 KarmasKunt WTF!? DeSantis Declares He's Running For President Just To ‘Destroy Leftism’
| Is it just me or have others noticed a lack of focus on REAL ISSUES effecting Floridians these days? Home owner insurance - insurance companies have been fleeing FL as a result of the consistently unaddressed climate change. This has forced many Floridians onto the states insurance (Citizens). Premiums for those with regular coverage have skyrocketed & state logistics was passed to raise the cost of Citizens in an effort to get people off of it without giving them an alternative. Just yesterday we were informed that our homeowner insurance will once again, go up. Premiums for some are expected to increase an additional 40%. https://youtu.be/XwIzD-yUKVA Fraud - FL is rated the WORST state for fraud. Just last year a billion dollar medical fraud was uncovered. You remember those commercials telling you that you could get medical supplies for free? I remember getting called with offers for back braces & more. They claimed they were free, but they'd charge Medicare for products people didn'tneed or want. Look up Rick Scott Medicare fraud. This year 25 people were arrested for a scam that was passing out medical degrees like candy on Halloween. If you want to know how DeSantis is tackling this you need look no further than recent legislation passed removing consumers' right to sue insurance companies after being wrongfully denied for a legitimate claim. https://youtu.be/1wlE86u4tMY Taxes - DeSantis raised taxes for consumers who purchase products online. This helps local business, but harms low income families who seek out products in bulk online in effort to save money. https://youtu.be/6qjz7b9IeDM After DeSantis sent migrants awaiting citizenship to Martha's Vineyard in two flights we found out the costs ($12 million) came from tax payers. The Republican state legislature then allocated more tax payer money ($10 million) for future flights. None of these actions have helped Floridians, in fact they have harmed our states economy. Who needs city & state taxes with a government like ours? https://youtu.be/M1tIeiWCJZY Housing costs - Much like most of America, Florida is in the midst of a housing crisis. Some renters have shown their rent being raised $500/ month more than once in the past year. Cities in Florida without laws on rent control are the worst, of course. How is DeSantis addressing this? NOTHING. In fact, there is a direct line between legislation & harm. SB 620 removes a tenants rights to sue. It's hurricane season & many Floridians are still displaced from the last hurricane. The recent anti-migrant law passed by DeSantis has put recovery to a stand still. SB 102 has done nothing but help landlords while inserting more government where Floridians should have rights instead. https://youtu.be/_2wnpLTe6G8 Not just renter, but homeowners suffer in Florida as well. - https://youtu.be/be5rCIPXF7U A bunch of criminals were brought to FL & DeSantis used tax payer dollars to provide them with $5k - $6k bonuses to police citizens of Florida. Including murderers & kidnappers. https://www.dailydot.com/debug/florida-police-recruitment-bonus-desantis/ Low/Stagnant Wages DeSantis & other Republicans are trying to prevent increases in wages beyong the current $10/hr. On top of this, FL is the worst state for workers rights. "Right 2 Work" laws and other anti-worker union legislation passed by FL conservatives along with anti-protestor laws have truly harmed the working class in Florida. https://youtu.be/WSvN_8DtM1Y Union Busting/Anti-worker Union Laws - Florida has consistently used state power to take away workers' right while giving corporations in the state rim jobs. https://youtu.be/ciEjTxWb0L4 Health Insurance isn't Affordable - with residents unable to earn a livable wage & the health industry being so comodified we actively kill people simply for being un/under insured. My only solution to this would be M4A, especially since the health industry has gotten pretty brutal. People are suffering on their death bead merely for being poor as wealthier Floridians are given priority. Corporations have influenced the majority of Florida's inhumane policies. Many residents work till death. It's the out of state Floridians who moved here that are afforded retirement and thus, actual care. One of the horror stories I heard recently is how someone was denied testing and scans looking for cancer for a year. The denial came from Medicare Part D you know the corporate one. She's dead now after suffering and being treated like a nuisance in the emergency room. There are multiple class action lawsuits out now for similar reasons. In Florida specifically religion has taken over emergency rooms and Healthcare in places like Ocala. Seventh-Day Adventists own Advent health who are one of many corporations that profit from working class struggles and suffering. The tax incentives and subsidies they rake in are insane compared to the lack of care many Floridians are given. Kidney dialysis corporations like DaVita treat patients like drive-thru customers. Let's not forget when DeSantis literally sold covid vaccines to wealthy people, including those from other countries - before they were made access to Floridians. https://youtu.be/TrnnRAQgZg8 - This was from the Rick Scott Governorship, but no different than the DeSantis government right now. Price Gouging - companies getting away with bleeding consumers dry as they continue refuse to raise wages along with inflation. At the same time employers continue to complain about the problems they're having with getting people to work for them. Rather than attacking citizens we need to look at the reason why people don't want to work for less than livable wages. It's kind of obvious what the problem is. Our country is turning into an Oligarchy & Florida has done nothing to soften the blows for it's working class families. In fact, Florida is being managed like an authoritarian state of vengeance who continues to exploit laborers while catering to wealthier donors. DeSantis specifically, is a Wall Street stooge. https://youtu.be/Ev85uVBT2JI Lastly, DeSantis' claim the Florida is the #1 state on education isn't just a lie, it's insane. Here's a link to an opinion piece (with resources) that points out the ways they tried to imply this while ignoring facts. https://web.archive.org/web/20230209204142/https://www.tampabay.com/opinion/2023/01/05/floridas-education-system-is-vastly-underperforming-column/ I could go on and on but I have better things to do. Like... work. Oh yeah, lest we forget... https://youtu.be/92c5YkUWzEg Gotta say though, I do wonder what the left did to piss this guy off so much? 🤔 submitted by KarmasKunt to u/KarmasKunt [link] [comments] |

Here is the story: \ \_ Hermione walked down the hallway of Hogwarts, her books clutched tightly to her chest as she made her wa y to class. Her robes billowed behind her, making her look like a graceful swan gliding across the water. She was lost in thought, thinking about how much she missed Harry and Hagrid. It had been months since the y had last seen each other, and she couldn't wait for their reunion later that day. \ \ Meanwhile, Hagrid was pacing back and forth in his hut, muttering to himself angrily. He was upset becau se he knew that Harry and Hermione were going to be together soon, and he was jealous of the time they wou ld be spending with each other. He had been harboring feelings for Hermione for a long time, but he knew t hat she only saw him as a friend. \ \ Harry was sitting in his room at the Burrow, thinking about Hermione. He missed her so much, and he coul dn't wait to see her again. He had been having trouble sleeping lately, and he knew that it was because he was lonely without her. He sighed, looking down at his tiny penis, which he had nicknamed "The Shrimp". H e knew that Hermione would never be interested in someone like him, but he couldn't help but dream about w hat it would be like to be with her. \ \ Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and Harry jumped up to answer it. When he opened the door, he s aw Hagrid standing there, grinning from ear to ear. "Hey, Hagrid!" said Harry, smiling back at him. \ \ "Hello, Harry," said Hermione, stepping out from behind Hagrid. She was wearing a short skirt and a low- cut top that showed off her cleavage, and Harry felt his heart start to race as he looked at her. \ \ "Hermione!" said Harry, his voice cracking slightly. He couldn't believe she was there, and he felt his face start to get hot. \ \ Hagrid chuckled to himself, enjoying the fact that Harry was so flustered. He knew that Hermione was goi ng to be spending the day with him, but he wanted to make sure that Harry knew that she would never be int erested in someone like him. \ \ "Hey, Hagrid," said Hermione, giving him a quick hug. She could tell that something was off about him, b ut she couldn't quite put her finger on it. \ \ "Alright, let's go," said Hagrid, grabbing Harry's arm and pulling him out the door. Hermione followed t hem, looking a little confused. \ \ As they walked through the streets of Hogsmeade, Hagrid started to talk to Harry about his time at Hogwa rts. He told him all about the new classes he was taking, and how much he was enjoying his studies. Hermio ne listened in silence, trying to figure out what was going on. \ \ Finally, they arrived at a small pub in the center of town. Hagrid led them inside, and they took a seat at a table in the back. Hermione looked around nervously, feeling like something wasn't right. \ \ "So," said Hagrid, looking at Harry and Hermione, "I have a confession to make." \ \ "What is it?" asked Hermione, her heart starting to race. She had a feeling that she wasn't going to lik e what he was about to say. \ \ "I've been talking to Donald Trump," said Hagrid, grinning widely. "And he gave me some advice on how to get the girl of my dreams." \ \ Hermione felt a knot in her stomach as she listened to Hagrid. She knew that he was talking about her, a nd she wasn't sure how to react. \ \ "What did he say?" asked Harry, his face pale. He had a feeling that this wasn't going to end well. \ \ "He told me that I needed to take control of the situation," said Hagrid, looking at Hermione. "And that 's why I brought you here today." \ \ Hermione felt her heart start to pound as she realized what was going on. Hagrid was trying to seduce he r, and he had brought Harry along so that he could watch. She knew that she should be angry, but she could n't help but feel excited at the thought of being with Hagrid. \ \ "What do you mean?" asked Harry, his voice shaking. He couldn't believe that Hagrid was doing this to hi m. \ \ "I mean," said Hagrid, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small bottle, "that I have something t hat will make this day even more special." \ \ Hermione watched as Hagrid poured the contents of the bottle into her glass. It was a clear liquid that smelled like honey, and she had no idea what it was. \ \ "What is that?" asked Harry, looking at the glass in Hermione's hand. He knew that something wasn't righ t, but he couldn't put his finger on it. \ \ "It's just a little something to help you relax," said Hagrid, winking at Hermione. "Trust me, you're go ing to love it." \ \ Hermione felt her heart start to race as she realized what was happening. Hagrid was trying to drug her, and she knew that she had to get out of there. \ \ "I don't think I want any," said Harry, standing up from the table. He knew that he needed to protect He rmione, but he wasn't sure how to do it. \ \ "Sit down, Harry," said Hagrid, his voice cold. "This is between me and Hermione." \ \ Hermione felt her heart start to pound as she realized that she was trapped. She knew that she had to ge t out of there, but she didn't know how. \ \ Harry looked at Hermione, trying to figure out what to do. He knew that he needed to help her, but he wa sn't sure how. \ \ "Drink up," said Hagrid, pushing the glass towards Hermione. She felt her heart start to race as she rea lized that she had no choice but to drink it. \ \ Harry watched in horror as Hermione brought the glass to her lips and took a sip. He could see the liqui d dripping down her chin, and he knew that something wasn't right. \ \ Hermione felt a warmth spread through her body as she swallowed the liquid. It tasted sweet, like honey, but there was something else to it that she couldn't quite put her finger on. \ \ "How do you feel?" asked Hagrid, grinning widely. He knew that the drug was starting to take effect, and he couldn't wait to see what would happen next. \ \ "I feel good," said Hermione, her voice slurred. She could feel herself getting lightheaded, and she kne w that she needed to lie down. \ \ Hagrid helped her up from the table and led her towards the back of the pub. Harry followed them, trying to figure out what he could do to stop this from happening. \ \ When they reached the back room, Hagrid laid Hermione down on a small bed that was there. She felt her b ody start to tingle as she lay there, and she knew that something wasn't right. \ \ "What are you doing?" asked Harry, his voice shaking. He knew that he needed to stop this from happening , but he didn't know how. \ \ "Relax, Harry," said Hagrid, grinning widely. "This is what she wants." \ \ Hermione felt her body start to tremble as Hagrid moved towards her. She knew that she should be scared, but she couldn't bring herself to move. \ \ Hagrid leaned over her, his breath hot on her neck. "You want this," he whispered, his hands starting to roam across her body. \ \ Hermione felt a wave of [email protected]:~$

2023.06.01 11:16 fmlfmom 13weeks pregnant/ "secretly" taking ritalin and NIPT came with an alert
hello everyone.
so, thats my 2nd pregnancy... the last 2 years have been harsh - my depression got worse as ever (i am o Zoloft) and i had a very difficult time with anxiety/non joy on life.
then i came back to my ADHD medications (which i stopped when i got first with my 1st) and everything was on track 70% back again! i felt myself, could work, could be active, etc
now, 13w pregnant with my 2nd, i decided to continue with the lowest dosage - 20mg Ritalin LA. i tried to stay off it some days, but i just could not be any functional at all! with the medicine, i can organize, make the work done, have energy to workout.... well, but i didnt tell my husband i am taking it - which is very against it - neither our doctors. it just felt right for me.... and than, the NIPT results came along.
and it came with a high evidence of a XXY Kinefelter sexual syndrome. i have no idea if it could have any relation with the Ritalin....
now i am desperate, scared as hell to have a baby with something more complex than the XXY - with neurological disorders, etc...
i am doing the invasive test next weeks, the CVS.
i dont even know why am i writing here... maybe i am just feeling too lonely with all this...
as a ADHD Women group, some of you may recognize the difference between being medicated and being not.
thanks for reading!

2023.06.01 10:25 vythathin Trip report: 12 days in Japan as vegans (Tokyo, Yudanaka, Hida Furukawa, Kyoto, Hakone, Tokyo)
I found lurking on this forum really useful for planning our trip, so thought I'd return the favour by posting about our trip here - with some extra tips for travelling as vegan or vegetarian! We just got back a few days ago and I'm already itching to go again. I think our interests generally align with what many people want when they go to Japan - nerdy stuff, food, temples and pretty locations. I hope the below is useful to someone, and happy to answer any questions (whether on food or just something we visited!).
**General tips:*\*
1) Learn some basic Japanese: I've seen this one come up quite a few times and can only echo it - while there certainly are Japanese people with excellent English skills, it will smooth the way so much more if you learn to speak some Japanese. Any attempts at Japanese were always met with a much friendlier response than tourists we saw speaking English, and it was especially helpful in the two ryokans we stayed at, where we had much more conversation with our hosts and they seemed much more comfortable communicating in Japanese (also we got some free apple jam!). Personally I taught myself from the basics because I had time/that's how my brain works (hiragana, katakana, then learning vocab + grammar) - but learning some modular phrases will help, e.g. '____ doko desu ka?' (where is ____?), '____ arimasu ka?' (is there ____?), and 'kore wa hitotsu/futatsu/mittsu o kudasai' (one/two/three of this please).
2) For dietary requirements, do your research and book in advance: There are quite a few helpful guides online for vegan diets, including the IG account 'tokyoveganguide', the website 'isitveganjapan' (
https://isitveganjapan.com/food-on-the-go/507-2/), Vegewel (
https://vegewel.com/en/area/) and some articles on matcha-jp (
https://matcha-jp.com/en/7716). We ate really well while out and about and could pick up certain street snacks - but again, being able to communicate in Japanese helped a lot here (see tip 1). As you probably know, vegan diets aren't well understood in Japan, and they're often shocked to find out you won't eat fish OR fish-based dashi. I've mentioned some of the standout places we ate at below. At conbini/kiosks, plain rice and salted onigiri, as well as the salted ume (plum) onigiri are typically vegan. Mochi are also often a good bet, as are jelly sweets (tend to use agar rather than gelatin). It can be helpful to know the kanji for fish (魚), meat (肉) and eggs (卵). Milk products are often listed in katakana as cream (クリーム) or similar, but could be listed as cow's milk (牛乳). Translate apps can be helpful but it's about 50/50 helpful versus 'hilarious result'.
3) As a vegan, don't expect your western-style hotel to provide breakfast (but a ryokan will!): We generally found that big western style hotels just.. did not provide anything viable for breakfast. You might have been able to negotiate a bowl of plain rice and a piece of fruit, but ultimately we ended up eating breakfast elsewhere (but see tip 4!) and in the future I wouldn't bother opting in for breakfast unless I could verify with the hotel in advance that they had options. However, ryokans were very accommodating so long as you communicated with them in advance, and the two we stayed at provided a list of dietary requirements at the start of our stay that we could tick to indicate what we could eat.
4) Most coffee shops/food places won't open until 10am: It was a bit of a struggle to find places open early enough for us to have breakfast before heading out. We did bring a few cereal bars for this eventuality! But if you research you can find a few places that open at 7am (in Tokyo we went to Komeda Is in Ginza, in Kyoto, the IMU hotel).
5) Always have some cash: We didn't need a phenomenal amount of cash on our trip, although we were also not skimping on spending (we took out 70,000 yen, or about £400, and that was about right) - many taxis, shops and restaurants took cards if needed. However, cash-only purchases did pop up unexpectedly - for example, in one of our very nice upmarket hotels that 100% had a card reader, sending our luggage by takkyubin for some reason was a cash-only purchase. A lot of smaller shops and little cafes will take cash only. If you want to use a card, you can check at the till with the phrase "caa-do wa ii desu ka?" (is card ok?).
6) Be prepared to walk: I know this one is said a lot - it depends what you're used to. We did in the range of 15-30,000 steps a day, and I was fine with a pair of foldable ballet flats and a pair of Vans. However we did bring blister plasters and a blister stick just in case! We also found lots of fun little shops/places by simply walking instead of taking transport, so if you have time it's highly recommended. As you will see below, we broke up the two major destinations (Tokyo/Kyoto) with smaller, slower-paced places. That helped a lot!
7) Build in extra time for navigating public transport: Yea, you probably think you're used to big transit systems - we certainly did. However it's just not always clear which exit you want to get to or how to get there, especially if you're not familiar with the station and surrounding area. Whenever we were pressed for time (for example, when transferring to shinkansen or needing to grab snacks before getting a train) we looked up a map of the station first to plan our route. You probably already know this, but I promise you are NOT ready for Shinjuku station.
8) If you're worried about temple fatigue, collect goshuin: This has been written about extensively elsewhere although I'm happy to share my experiences. Goshuin are a stamp/calligraphy combination you can get at many temples and shrines. They're a very beautiful memento. You need a special accordion-style book (goshuincho) for them that you can buy in advance (I did) or at your first temple (usually 1200-2000 yen). Collecting a goshuin usually costs 300-500 yen and a couple of minutes of your time. You should only collect a goshuin after paying your respects at the temple. Generally the process is just to approach the desk (it's generally quite obvious, and there may be pictures of goshuin on the window of the booth - in some places you choose which one you want), and present your book with both hands, open to the relevant page, asking 'goshuin o onegaishimasu'. They might take your book and give you a number (in which case, you need to wait), or they might do the goshuin then and there - it depends on how busy the temple is.
9) You probably won't be able to check-n early: Of all the places we stayed, only one allowed us to check in before 3pm. However, you should be able to leave any bags with them - just be prepared! If you want to drop off your bags, you can say the following: "Nimotsu o azukatte mo ii desu ka?" (more or less: May we leave our luggage here?).
**Brief trip report:*\*
Day 0: We got our flight to Tokyo (14h). We flew Japan Airlines - the vegan meals were.. ok? But the snack was the infamous (iykyk) banana. Everyone else got an interesting snack, so it was sad to just have a banana. I would pack my own snacks next time!
Day 1: Land in Tokyo. Staying in the Ginza area. We got in to the airport relatively late (6pm) so we grabbed a snack locally once we got to our hotel (2foods Ginza) and went to sleep!
Day 2 Tokyo (~26,000 steps). Breakfast at Komeda Is, Ginza.
Kokyo Gaien National Gardens (near to our hotel), then walk around the
Yanaka Old District, bought some tea/crackers (often vegan but check), train to
Asauksa to see Senso-Ji (there happened to be a festival on while we were there so it was packed, but I got a special goshuin!), then across to
Akihabara. It started raining but was mostly ok as we were running from indoor shop to indoor shop. We had lunch at a shojin-ryori place in Akihabara station. In the evening we went on a
vegan ramen tasting tour (highly recommended!) in Shibuya/Shinjuku.
Day 3 Tokyo (~25,000 steps). Breakfast at Komeda Is, Ginza. Then to
Team Labs Planets (we had tickets for the earliest entry). Despite some of what I've read on here, we really enjoyed the experience (happy to say more if asked!). Then we headed across to
Shibuya, wandered around, went to the Pokemon Centre and Nintendo store in Shibuya Parco, had lunch at Izakaya Masaka in the basement of Shibuya Parco (highly recommended) and headed over to Yoyogi Park, Meiji Jingu and walked up through
Harajuku. We continued walking up through to
Shinjuku and walked around there for a while, including going up the Tokyo Government Metropolitan building (free) for a view over Tokyo. We had dinner at Wired Bonbon.
Day 4 Yudanaka (~12,000 steps). We sent our bags via takkyubin to Kyoto, and then got the train over to
Yudanaka (we had breakfast at Komeda Is again - honestly, great menu! and picked up onigiri in the train station for the train ride). At Yudanaka, we travelled over to the Snow Monkey Park, and then back to our ryokan to chill in the bookable private onsen. Our feet needed the rest! We stayed at Seifuso in Yudanaka, which was lovely and inexpensive - our host drove us over to the park (we got a bus back). The food was excellent.
Day 5 Nagano and Hida Furukawa (~11,000 steps). We travelled from Yudanaka through to Hida Furukawa, stopping off at
Nagano on the way to visit the Zenko-Ji temple. For lunch we picked up oyaki from Irohado in Nagano, which were delicious (there are 3 shops - one in the station, one in a mall outside the station, and one by the temple)! By the time we got to
Hida Furukawa it was relatively late, so we just had dinner. We stayed at one of the Iori Stay apartments, which provide dinnebreakfast (vegan if specified in advance).
Day 6 Hida Furukawa and Takayama (~15,000 steps). We went to
Takayama in the morning to visit the markets and see a few temples, as well as pick up some traditional sashiko for my mother-in-law. Then in the afternoon we chilled and walked around
Hida Furukawa (shrines, shops and so on) - we had lunch at Sobasho Nakaya in Hida Furukawa, which has clearly marked vegan options. A number of other traditional soba shops have vegan options. There was a little sweet shop near the main street with the koi carp that sold yam-based mochi-type sweets and had a full list of ingredients you could look at.
Day 7 Kyoto (~20,000 steps). We arrived in
Kyoto at about 1pm (picked up onigiri and snacks on the journey), and walked from our hotel (located on Shijo Dori) to Nijo Castle and then to the Imperial Palace gardens. We had dinner in AWOMB Nishikiyamachi, which was excellent (sushi).
Day 8 Kyoto (~30,000 steps). For breakfast today we found out our hotel couldn't accommodate our diet (whoops) and we ate cereal bars and mochi from the nearby Life supermarket. We mostly stayed around the
Gion area this day and visited a lot of the temples and shrines there - Yasaka Jinja, Kyomizyu-dera, Kodai-Ji (picked up some dango here), Kennin-Ji and others. There is a little bamboo forest at Kennin-Ji which is much quieter than Arashiyama and in my opinion, nicer. We ate lunch at Uno Yukiko (vegan and gluten-free ramen). We also went to the Pokemon Centre in Kyoto! In the evening we ate dinner at the IMU Hotel (you had to book via instagram), and then headed over to
Fushimi Inari at night. It was very quiet and highly recommended. We walked up to the first viewing point where you can see across Kyoto (my phone registered this as about 40 floors).
Day 9 Kyoto (~25,000 steps). For breakfast we headed over to the IMU hotel who alternate Japanese/Western breakfast by day. It was only 1000 yen, and really good. In the morning we headed to
Arashiyama, and did the usual - the bridge, the bamboo forest (it was fine, very busy even early on) - and had matcha shaved ice with mochi for lunch nearby. Very healthy..! In the early afternoon we had a
calligraphy class. After that, we went to
Kinkakuji, then slowly walked across to the Kyoto Imperial gardens, stopping off at shops and for coffee on the way. We had dinner at Kanga-An - our most expensive meal, but delicious. You have to book in advance.
Day 10 Hakone (~12,000 steps). We sent our bags by takkyubin to Tokyo. We had breakfast at the IMU hotel and then travelled over to
Hakone. It was not a clear day but we saw about 2/3 of Mt Fuji out of the window (you need to be in seats D/E on the shinkansen). Based on conditions we decided not to go down to Lake Ashi. We went to the
Open-Air museum which was honestly a lot of fun, then hung out in our amazing ryokan (Fukuzumiro). We had our own private onsen and I wish we had spent another night here! It was not a cheap stay but it was wonderful.
Day 11 Tokyo (~23,000 steps). We arrived in
Tokyo at about 11am, and went to our hotel to drop off our backpacks - and were able to check in early! To note, this is the only time we could ever check in before 3pm, although we could always drop off our bags. We were in
Ginza again, and had lunch at Ain Soph Ginza (expensive compared to everywhere else, but tasty - you must book, it's very small). We visited a little shrine and then walked to
Hamarikyu gardens were we had matcha and wagashi in the tea house. Then we walked down to the
Tokyo ToweZojo-Ji to have a look around. Finally we headed back to Shibuya to wrap up any shopping and sightseeing, have dinner at Izakaya Masaka (so good we went twice!) and then did a little karaoke at Joysound by the station - a great end to our trip. On our way back we stopped off at Don Quijote Ginza for any final bits.
Day 12 Fly home. Because of changes to flight paths, our
flight home ended up being much earlier than it was when we originally booked (moved to 9am). So we couldn't do anything that day but go to the airport. We flew with Japan Airlines and everyone can go into the Sakura Lounge who flies with them - nice and quiet, with a few limited vegan options for food (pasta). The vegan meals on the flight back were much better than the flight there - our snack on the way back was a sandwich, much better than a banana!

2023.06.01 10:24 kingpin212 New xmen movie idea (marvel call me)
Okay alot of you wont like what im going to propose but i need a new xmen movie.
So we learn in logan that a bad science guy released something in the air which prevents new mutations to form. And the only way to create amutant is in a lab(like x23, rictor...).
In the new movie x23 and the 6 kids are grown up as 18 yo and are quite strong. They fight to stop the private oraganizations from creating new mutants and training them as weapons. Lets say x23 and gang call themselves new xmen.
Now this is the interesting part, we cut to a dystopic future(lets say year 2089/2099), to a concetration camp of mutant. There we see 4 mutants: rachel summers, hope summers, bishop and cable. These 4 are trying to use their psychic/energy powers to return to the past. Cut to them going to the year the movie itself is happening. Well call them x force.
New x-men are currently hiding in the sewer tunnels of new york with 100+ saved mutant children(there are also some adults). X force find these mutants , a little fight is hapenning and the when every one relaxes cable explaing the whole point of the movie.
Apperantly the new x men falis in the future. Mutants become no more than weapons to countries and ww3 starts. The earth is left toxic and radiation is high. All mutants are considered crimunals and sent to concetration camps. Rachel summers, and cable were hounds to hunt dowm mutants thet are also geneticaly cloned from jean grey. Until they were relesed from duty and sent to the camps. The last mutant they found is hope which can copy powers but also activate the dormant x gene( this ability is hidden from the captors). Cable heard legends of a mutant which can "alter reality for the prica of a body and a soul". X force travels to the past to stop the species control by humans and let new mutation create freely. By combining the powers of the omega level mutant and hope summers.
However, the human council including bastion, cameron hodge, reverebd stryker and hellva nimrods. Follow x force to the past in order to eradicate all mutants.
X force and new x men go to dallas in order to meet forge( which is a mutant disguised as a sort of human tony stark) he provides a cerebro which is able to locate the omega mutant. Right this second, cameron hodge and the Right robodudes break in and fight the mutants, they escape and teleport to scotland using forge's tech. He is left behind and dies.
In scotland they find the omega mutant is in a building owned by a genetic reasearch company. Stryker and his purifiers arrive to fight the mutants. Stryker and gang are winning until proteus whick looks like a corpse flies to the sky, says: "fok off" and turn all the purifiers to dust.
Proteus agrees to help the mutants but he needs a susteinable body. Gang agrees to let him stay in cables body beacuse aperannetly his genetic material had the potential to be "perfect".
After an emotinal scene proteus is in cable and transforms to this childlike vampire with whiteskin, red eyes and wearing a tuxedo foe kids( idk it cute okayyy).
X gang teleports to new york sewer base only to find it all burned and the children dead( r.i.p). They go up to street level to find bastion and LOT of nimrods hunting down civies which has mutant potential. We can see the academy x kids(rockslide, bling, mercury, hellion, anole, loa, blindfold, omega kid and more..) try to fight the baddies. BTW all the nimrods are coming fron a mother mold which sits on the empire states.
RACHEL SUMMERS says/yells psychicaly:TO ME MY XMEN. Heroic hype music plays as all the mutants gather around rachel summers , they cahrge the nimrods and a huge mutant vs nimrods happens. Rachel sees they are loaing and summons from across time: rogue, iceman, cyclops, jean grey, archangel, beast, kitty pryde, colossus, gambit, nightcrawler, new mutants crew, x factor crew, maybe deadpool, and magneto. Apperantly these dudes are also from adystopic future like xforce's, rachel psychicaly updates them on the situation. Anyway alot of epic scenes later the mutants destroy the mother mold and nimrods turn to nanobot dust.
However bastion is still active and super strong. In the break from fighting Hope, proteus and rachel hold hands inside a force sphere, they combine powers, do a hype light show which causes mutations around the world to form. Bastion is destroyed from the lightshow and nimrods are deactivated again.
Epilouge: Mutants are recognised as a new endangered species. They are given a huge tropical island near sinfapore by the name of "krakoa" to form their owm nation.
X corp is founded by almost unlimited founding of the u.n , x corp's mission is to help mutants find their way to krakoa. The soldier are called: x men.
Aftet credit scene: forge managed to survive but has a prosthetic leg and arm. He talk to amutant named cypher. Forge says: so what do you think?also show him desighns of danger room Cypher: yea the programing is a bit complex but i can make it work...btw do you hear it? Forge: hear what? Cypher: its faint...but the ground... i think it speaks.
the end idk how it works legally but all rights are reserved for me
feel free to leave feedback( im sure there is alot) i thought this plot during an accounting lecture so this is really not a special project or something

| Hi as you can see my motherboard and my stepper drivers burned down after 3 years of use. Now I would like to switch to a new board maybe an skr3 ez or and skr turbo? Over long time i want to print with my artillery some parts for a new printer maybe an voron? And then switch the board to the new one. I think for this the skr turbo would be the best? But also I would like to have a more or less plug n play solution for my artillery with existing firmwares. 2023.06.01 09:45 iamdgilly ChatGPT Prompt for Creating Midjourney Prompts
Copy and paste the below prompt into ChatGPT. Without modification, the prompt generated will be random with 12 components. You can provide 2 arguments: Length and Context after the /craft command at the end of the prompt to influence the number of components that are generated and the context the prompt is created with. I would recommend doing this in the following format: /craft {Length = 12, Context = food product photoshoot} You can also use the /uncraft command, followed by a prompt, that will try to break down the prompt into base components so you can reuse them to craft a similar prompt.

2023.06.01 09:21 ImANuckleChut The feelings of guilt from defending myself years ago are starting to come back
TL;DR - A homeless man threatened me with a knife and I feel guilty for beating him to a pulp.
Years and years ago I (32M) used to live in a larger city and would go hang out at the gas station cattycorner from my house late at night when I couldn't sleep (I've always had insomnia) and talk to my now girlfriend's brother when he was working (I met him when he worked there long before her and I got together). Fountain drinks were usually less than a buck, so I'd get a few drinks and stay up talking to him late at night before having to go home, grab my stuff, and head off to high school or just go home and sleep if it was the weekend.
This story took place when I was about 16/17ish. I was planning on heading to the gas station, so I got dressed and grabbed this wooden nightstick I had before heading off. I've always been super paranoid of other people, and at that time I wasn't very strong, so I used to carry this police baton on me and kept it tucked in my belt against my back whenever I went out at night, whether it was a nightly excursion or just for a quick drink run and back to the house.
To get to the gas station you had to leave the back of my house and hop the fence before making a sharp turn to walk through an alleyway. There would be a drug store on your right as you walked towards the main road, and diagonally from that drug store across the street would be the gas station. The walk there was uneventful that night. It was spring and kinda chilly, but just an uneventful walk there.
I stood with my girlfriend's brother and talked with him for a few hours. Some people came and went, but we mostly just stood around shooting the shit while he did his gas station attendant duties. I had (I think) three bucks on me and that was it. Around 2 in the morning I decided to get a final drink before I walked home, so I refilled my cup, paid for it, and started the less-than-five-minute walk home.
This is where the story starts. I was walking through the alleyway back to my house. It was quiet like the walk there, with no car noises from the roads, no random cats or other animals, just the hum of the lights from the store. However, when I approached the end of the alleyway I looked to my left and saw this man sitting on the ground leaning back against the dumpster. He was slouched against it, but his head was drooped down and looked like he was sleeping. It was weird because, when I left the house around 10, there wasn't a sign of anyone around and he CERTAINLY wasn't there before.
I got nervous as I went walking past, but I kept looking at him until I was about level with him. He then rolled his head back (NOT just moved his head to look at me, but he ROLLED it along his shoulder and looked at me with his neck bent at an angle) and looked at me and I just about shit a brick. I slowed down a little bit and almost stopped from how bad this dude spooked me, but I tried to not show it by giving him a "sup" nod and saying "Sup?"
He looks at me and goes "Hey man, y'all got any money?" I shook my head and said "No, I spent the last of it on my drink here" and pointed to my cup. He then pushes himself up from the ground. He was a few inches taller than I am, about 5'10" to 6 foot, his clothes were all dirty but not holey or raggedy looking, and his hair was all matted and dirty and stringy looking. He started walking towards me and he yelled "Gimme your fuckin' money". I started backing up a little bit and I told him "I swear I don't have any money on me, man".
I couldn't run toward the end of the alley. I could see it, but I fucked my position up so now my back was facing toward the fence that separated our yard from the alley. It was a tall, wooden plank fence and there was no way in Hell I could have climbed that without him grabbing me. He just kept walking towards me and I was still locked up in fear. That's when he pulled a busted steak knife out of his pants and pointed it at me. He yelled at me again "I SAID GIVE ME YOUR FUCKIN' MONEY!" I'm not really sure how I was able to, given how pants-shittingly terrified I was, but I hatched this plan in my head. My soda was in my left hand. As he was walking towards me with the busted steak knife, my right was slowly making its way to the handle of my nightstick. I don't know if he saw it or thought I was reaching for my wallet or what, but I death-gripped the handle in my palm and chucked my soda at him.
Thankfully the soda cup made contact with his face/chest/chin/SOMETHING and splattered all over him and blinded him. The next part was kind of a blur, but somehow I whipped my nightstick out and busted him in the side of the head with it as he was wiping the Diet Mountain Dew out of his eyes. He crumpled to the ground and dropped his weapon (which I could now clearly see was a busted steak knife in the light of the parking lot), but he kept trying to get back up and I was terrified he was going to hurt me if he did, so I just stood over him with the nightstick and just wailed him repeatedly. Any opened part I could reach, I'd hit it. I don't know how many times I hit him, I don't know how long I hit him for, but I do remember busting his head a few times, busting his hands and arms and shoulders and elbows, I think smacked him in the ribs a few times... I don't know how long I stood over him and beat the shit out of him, but I know I was tired and drenched in sweat when I finally stopped... And he wasn't moving. He was breathing, but he wasn't moving.
I don't remember running and jumping the fence back into my yard, nor do I really remember much of getting back into my room, but I know when I got back upstairs I locked my bedroom door, I was soaked in sweat, I was shaking really bad, I was hyperventilating, and I didn't realize it at the time but I clearly pissed my pants out of fear. I couldn't sleep well for weeks after it. Every time I'd close my eyes I'd just see his angry face screaming at me for money and him waving that knife at me. At that moment I thought I killed this guy and now I thought the cops were going to come after me, but nothing ever really came of it. No dead body in a parking lot, no cops, no follow-up in the news, nothing. When I did sleep, I had nightmares about it for months and I didn't leave the house at night for a long, long, long time.
I could justify everything in that moment. It was all from a place of primal fear. I really thought he was going to hurt me or kill me. I should have just given him what little pocket change I did have (it was somewhere between a nickel and thirty cents, I really don't remember how much but it wasn't a lot at all). I should have just ran away. Maybe if I just hit him with my soda to blind him and took off... I don't know. It was either me or him, and I guess I decided I didn't want to be gutted in a CVS alleyway. Thanks to him I've been even more paranoid of people, especially at night, and I refuse to leave my house unless I'm armed. Recently the memory resurfaced and that guilt I'd felt when I was a teenager came welling up again and thought I should come to confess.

2023.06.01 09:06 nic566 A7s Mk1 still good?
So i recently got myself an upgrade (a6400 and upgraded from an a6000) but im still intrigued by a Full-frame to like test around... Today i was cruising on FB Marketplace and found a Listing for an Alpha 7s first gen. its seems cheap but i can kinda justify it with the age of the camera.
It doesn't come with a lens but a Battery! So now my question, is it still good or more like relevant in this time to test around if FF is smth for me? i mainly want to use it for B-Roll Video and sometimes street Photography.
Edit:
I believe i could use my APS-C Lenses on it (i mean its croped n stuff) but could this really work? So new to this stuff ;)

2023.06.01 08:41 Snazzy_SassyPie My boys.
2023.06.01 08:24 iWizardB Please suggest me things to do within 2 miles of Canyon Park Mobile Estate.
Introduction:
30+ YO Male, living near
Canyon Park Mobile Estate on the
228th Street Southeast. Not athletic. Don't have a car. No friends.
Situation:
I've lived in Bothell 98021 for quite a few years, and in all these years, I've almost always stayed couped inside my house. Except for when I had to go to QFC or Fred Meyer to get groceries. This extreme indoor living is messing with my mental health and I find myself silently crying every day.
Looking for:
Anyway... I'm thinking going on an evening walk nearby or sitting at a public park or near a pond or such might do me some good. I looked up on Google Maps and saw some options.
I found these 3 things within 2 miles of my place -
- North Creek Trail - Looks like that's just for walking. Are these are sitting areas or place to sit near a pond or something in this trail?
- Miner's Corner Park - This looks like a children's park. Are solitary adult males allowed here? Can I take a walk / spend time here or will that be frowned upon / met with hostility / suspicion?
- Evergreen Church - Can I just go sit here in the pews and get some peace n quiet? (I'm not Christian, if that matters.)
Is there anything else I can do in my limited 2 mile radius area?
Meetups / Support Groups?:
Does Bothell have any mental health support groups (or such) / or meetups? How do I look those up? Google is showing things in Seattle / Bellevue etc.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
