I think my friend has undiagnosed BPD
Vacation ruined together because she had constant mood swings, arguments with me and threatened to cut me off, only to two hours later be fine and okay. She has become angry at past exes and split up with them for weird reasons. When she split up with one boyfriend she ended up drinking a bottle of wine and cried profusely, even went to lengths to ask for them back a short time later. She has sent me an A4 letter before to say she didn’t want me in her life because we had an argument and because I never responded to her, she cried every day for 6 weeks and wondered why I never responded to her. I mistakenly allowed her to be my friend again after that. She has had a second argument with me since the vacation and pretends I don’t exist. When I argue with her I can’t get a word in and she creates arguments out of nowhere. She gaslights me into thinking I’m going insane and that she is right in every way. It’s like watching a raging bull. She also doesn’t care where she argues and argues in public places. She’s quit several jobs from arguing with people and says she hates them. She can go from hating someone to saying they are great. She can only hang out with one friend at a time and picks who she loves the most at the time. She obsesses over new people she meets too. My other friend says BPD, my other friend’s mother says Jekyll and Hyde personality. Nobody can put their finger on what she has wrong with her though. She won’t seek help for treatment though because “she doesn’t believe in it” and only she “can fix herself”

Hi, I could use advice for those who have experience working at Fidelity or another financial firm as a customer relationship advocate (call center). I'm 31 and I've been looking for a job for a few months now, currently working walmart overnight for $18.5 and a server job for $20 with inconsistent shifts while I look for a real job.
I originally applied to a marketing job at fidelity and saw the call center job and also applied to that. I had a phone interview for the call center job and really don't know if I should take it. The interviewer basically read off a sheet and did nothing to sell me on the job which I thought was odd given Fidelity is supposed to be a really good place to work at.
Interviewer made it clear that it's very much a call center job, I even asked if there is the ability to other positions in the company as I had mentioned that I applied to a marketing position but the person said typically people do at least 2-3 years at the call center and average 5 and even when they move up it's still call center work. It would be 7 months of training, first 3 months have to pass exams or I'm fired, can't really take pto since must be focused on training and will be averaging 60-80 calls a day and will most like it have to study outside work as well for at least 20 hours.
I come from a marketing background and customer service, quit my last job as analyst as I hit the ceiling for pay and was made clear no raises any time soon and was burnt out. Thought the job market was good, I was wrong. The pay for this job is just under $23 which was surprising, they didn't mention anything about future pay/growth like I said they didn't really sell me on anything. I made more at my last job but I did leave. Once training is over I will not have a set schedule and since they are open all week I will work weekends. No 8-5 job as I was hoping, currently my sleep schedule is fucked and I wanted to fix that.
Job is one week in office and one week at home. I'm already dreading it a bit but wanted some advice. Wish the market was better, I'm getting rejected for remote jobs and stuff I'm overqualified for. Surprised I can't find an office job for 22-24$hr given my experience and reliability. Was hoping to find another marketing job or something with a future and pay that can help me live with the cost of living continually increasing so much :/

I am almost 27 years old and I have achieved nothing in this life. I have no education, no job, no money, I live in a terrible unpromising small town, without friends and acquaintances. I don't have any hobbies, I sit at home alone all day. My parents died, and only my grandmother and my sister support me. I don't know how to get out of this life at all, I'm tired of everything and sometimes from despair there are bad thoughts about ending life. All my attempts to change anything failed, I lost large sums of money for me several times, I was robbed once. Now I'm left with almost no money, I have the last $ 800 in my pocket and I don't know what to do next. I don't have any opportunities to earn money. There is no work without a specialty in my city, and salaries everywhere are such that they will only be enough for food and housing and communal services. Even if you find at least some kind of job, it will be a vicious circle from which there will be no way out, it will be a job from paycheck to paycheck with zero prospects.
Yes, for many people, everything is much worse in life, but everything is relative. I have been in a state of "neither alive nor dead" for many years, I live by inertia.
I just exist all day and can't do anything, apathy eats me up from the inside.
I don't expect to get some kind of super plan to change my life here, but I would like to hear at least some useful advice that will help me at least a little.

The switchboard in the garage was damaged.
It's a relatively simple switch board, 1 main switch, 1 power circuit, 1 light circuit. I can get a replacement for under $100.
I'm definitely confident in my ability to do the job, I've worked as an appliance service tech, with appropriate 230V qualifications.
I've tried to look up what the NZ law is on the matter. All I can find is various websites saying I can't do work inside the main switchboard, which is fair enough.
But this isn't the main, it's a small sub-board.

My dad left me a small flat in my home country, which i sold for around 50k. Im 36, i started working in this job a year ago. I moved back to this country after 4 years of being my dads carer, so i dont have any friends yet and circle. I also broke my leg which has kept me inside for a while. Its an extremely pathetic environment but it does pay quite well. Its in the civil service, i didnt know it was that boring. My department has 6 people, none goes to the office, ever. (which is difficult for me with no kids, no friends, etc). And they are quite weird, for example 1 never talks to me and ignores my job and when i talk to him, the other guy is sending me messages telling me how skinny i am etc. Its like the civil service attracts all the weirdos. We dont work. Literally. None checks my work, none asks what ive done, there are days i play video games all day and none cares. And this can be extremely depressive. Its got a bad name among recruiters, my employer, because everyone knows how slow and lame things are, they know we are procrastinators. Since i started in this role, i havent had any interview. Im very confused about what to do. Its been one of the worst years of my life. Partly cos of the grieving and partly because of how lame this job/its people are.

Leadership(10th-11th): I only went to leadership for 1 year since they turned the club into a class, and my school goes by mesters so I only take 4 classes and I have 3 APs so it doesn’t fit my schedule. But when I was in leadership, I would organize events like pep rallies, I would help with fundraisers during Valentine's day or Christmas, holidays basically. I might help them when they do events but I don’t attend meetings.

Programs(9th-11th): I am in multiple programs, including UCLA EAOP which is a program by UCLA, we go to UCLA all the time which is cool. I am in the USC UpwardBound, I take college classes with them on Saturdays, and in the summer I will be staying at their dorms for 6 weeks taking 2 college classes. We also have community service opportunities in the program. I am also in the Gear Up program, we go on hella field trips and I learn a lot from it. I am in the National Ed Equity Lab which allows low-income students to take college classes at schools like Stanford, Harvard, etc.
Community Service Hours: 300+ with Gear Up and other programs. Will also do community service through the city I am in and will volunteer at a good bank this summer.
Essays/LORs/Other: UC PIQS : Prompt #2: Showing my creative side, I will talk about how I use twigs and leaves to create creatures and characters in order to use storytelling and create a story in nature since my mom taught me that when we used to go to the mountains in my home country, El Salvador, and how that shows my creative side because I am able to express my emotions and thoughts through storytelling.
Prompt #4: Which is how I took advantage of an educational opportunity, I will talk about USC Upward Bound and how it allowed me to find the person I want to be in the future through their resources and tremendous love and care for me (I will go in detail about the opportunities the program provides) and I will mention how I am the first undocumented student to join the program since 1977 which is a huge accomplishment and I want to be able to represent my community and myself.
Prompt #5: My significant challenge and how I overcame it, I will talk about my moms health, and how I had to become an adult at a young age to be able to process the emotions in my household and how I got a job in order to buy school supplies like a laptop and an iPad, to not worry my mom.
And lastly, Prompt #7: Which is how I made my community a better place, I will talk about the mental health resource website and how my exigence was hating to see my friends sad and missing out on big opportunities like I did when I was down, so I created a website to give mental health resources to students at my school.
Schools I want to apply to: I want to apply to UC mostly. I really really want to go to UC Irvine. That is my top choice for sure, please be brutally honest with UC Irvine with my stats.
Little Background: I am really worried about my GPA because my history teacher was a terrible human being so she never gave me an A. And since my school is in the quarter system, AP classes are a year long, however the 2nd and 3rd quarter are called honor classes while we are still in the AP class. Therefore, the AP is 4 grades in total and the teacher gave me 3 Bs and 1 C which brought my GPA down SINCE THEY ARE ALL WEIGHTED. I have all As in my sophomore and junior year except my sophomore year I had 2 Cs. So really, only the APUSH class is the one ruining my life basically.

I’m 19 and I’ve been enlisted in the Navy for 7 months. I get paid 1400 a month but the benefits are really good (GI bill, free health and dental, etc). I’ll be very employable and have a full ride to any college I can get into in 4.5 years when my contract expires. But I’ve never been more miserable. My job is extremely demanding obviously and consumes my life. I can’t really have friends outside of the military anymore and I feel it’s hard to make friends in the service. I feel like these are just people I’m friends with because of work, not people I’d actually be friends with normally. I can’t have a stable relationship or see my family and it’s 100% because of this job. Don’t get me wrong, I chose to do this, and I accept that. But I feel I’m only doing it for financial reasons as it doesn’t serve me in any other way. Obviously financial security is huge, but I feel like it doesn’t matter as much if I’m not happy.
If I got out, I’d have to live with my mom until I could get on my feet and actually make something of myself, which could take a couple years. The economy sucks right now and I’ve been told the job market isn’t much better (don’t quote me on that one though). Either way, getting out and trying to carve my own path would be much more difficult in the sense that it would be completely up to me to figure out what to do. But it would be far better, emotionally speaking, than what I’m doing now. My family doesn’t want me to get out but they have said they’d be supportive of my decision either way, which I’m grateful for.
I know this is really only a decision I can make and there isn’t a right or wrong answer, but if you were me, what would you do?
